Let me guess a bit. Maybe he wanted to stake one address to secure account, and use another address for his transactions. However, both two addresses likely new ones, because they have not had even only one transaction so far. 3GwTPjGUHsRGqBAnqqdjmX8GrQN4ASoJH7 1K4CMazSr5V3MfcbVpC4gRhFW9JfJBpe4d I recommend he to stake all two addresses, it is only better, not worse for his account security.

The address I use to store the funds is a SegWit address, whereas my Ledger only lets me sign a message from a legacy address. Coding Enthusiast made this handy tool ( https://github.com/Coding-Enthusiast/AddrConverter) that can convert a legacy address to its corresponding SegWit address.

Yeah, you can. You can only sign from legacy addresses though, since Ledger doesn't support signing + SegWit.

Yeah, you can. You can only sign from legacy addresses though, since Ledger doesn't support signing + SegWit. That's not the issue to which I'm referring. Include the address you want to use in the body of the message that you sign. Here's an example of messages signed using two addresses, the fact that they are segwit addresses is beside the point: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.msg49526329#msg49526329As you can see I included both addresses I want to use in the body of both signed messages. -----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE----- This is DireWolfM14@Bitcointalk.org, today is 31.JAN.2019 and these are my addresses: bc1q2nwf4njwkpeuyycx5a95nj6mf8m45djdk863xs 3QbJyLBTbwe7CrhqefAbY82ixVYe6Shp42 -----BEGIN SIGNATURE----- bc1q2nwf4njwkpeuyycx5a95nj6mf8m45djdk863xs H/MxHgSBIwJuNrPPKNZ268BcqcYNMU6k19bpGzXEF7nRGXfYzQoeFk0j/nOPu6qlMl/dwyUdDuFKr1g48H05+Xg= -----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE----- -----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE----- This is DireWolfM14@Bitcointalk.org, today is 31.JAN.2019 and these are my addresses: bc1q2nwf4njwkpeuyycx5a95nj6mf8m45djdk863xs 3QbJyLBTbwe7CrhqefAbY82ixVYe6Shp42 -----BEGIN SIGNATURE----- 3QbJyLBTbwe7CrhqefAbY82ixVYe6Shp42 H8L8rVsIgFzLxERlFoWDPuHr9/3E5FowYKL+NKYsK65AQh0qmPxm9A40Xfug6jrj/aaouaMBzVv2d7PXU3mHiR8= -----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE----- Both are native segwit, so I don't think they can be verified with brainwallet, you'll have to use Electrum. Thanks in advance.

In other tools, It's verified by https://tools.qz.sg/ StackGambler didn't enclosed his post inside

tags and the space have " blended" to the forum's paragraph style. Another one, he signed the message with the address 1K4CMazSr5V3MfcbVpC4gRhFW9JfJBpe4d to stake 3GwTPjGUHsRGqBAnqqdjmX8GrQN4ASoJH7 which is either a SegWit or Multisig address ( haven't used yet, can't tell). That can't be used for future verification, only 1K4CMazSr5V3MfcbVpC4gRhFW9JfJBpe4d address was staked.

I found a small thing, the account name in the sign message is: Asayoyaasa. It should be corrected as asayoyaasa. I think you should sign another message with correct name.
