I'm guessing volumes will thin out and we'll be bouncing between 0.00055 and 0.00075 today, or until dev drops another milestone on the roadmap.  Looking forward to seeing where BLUR and the darkpool goes.  Can anyone tell how many coins have been burned?  I'm considering burning a large block of my own.

Because its an unspendable address. That answers point one and two. Exchange for escrow of what? If you mean crave to blur the blur is sent to the address that you sent the crave to be burned from.

For the Adrenaline Nodes masternodes, I'm thinking of going with a 50% PoS stake split with the masternodes and a 2 week window before masternode payments are "enforced" which should give everyone plenty of time to update.  Can always adjust that % in the future if it needs to go up but I think 50% is a good incentive and should be quite profitable.  I am thinking that 500 coins might be too expensive and 250 might be a better balance.

I spoke about escrow because in other situations that I saw coins being burned in exchange for others, this was done in an exchange as bittrex to ensure that they really would be "burned".

EDIT: Nokat said that this is an unspendable address, but I do not know nokat. Is there a way of a layman in coding be sure about that?

You can trade it decentralized on darkpool... if it gets picked up by an exchange that supports the Counterparty protocol like BTER or Polo then BLUR and other darkpool assets could be traded there too (I imagine they might be....umm, "selective" about which assets they would allow to be traded ).

Ok, another way to thing of it - DarkPool is like an underground stock market.  You burn CRAVE to get BLUR (this means you send some CRAVE to a special unspendable address).  Then you can use BLUR to either pay a small fee to issue your own "stock" or asset.  Other people can choose to buy some of your stock on the decentralized exchange (there is no central party running an exchange, its all done over the blockchain).  Then maybe you pay them dividends every once in awhile.

Let me try to think of a "clean" scenario...  let's say you run a personal protection service.  You decide to issue an asset (aka a colored coin) called PROTECT to raise capital so you can hire a few more dudes on your crew.  You sell a bunch of your asset, then you go hire some guys, take on more clients, and grow your business.  Every quarter you pay out a dividend based on your earnings, and as you grow your earnings grow and the investors who bought your asset are happy because their dividends are growing.  In the meantime the investors can trade your asset on the decentralized exchange amongst themselves after the initial issuance, in a PROTECT/BLUR market.

That's one scenario.  You can also do decentralized betting.

Price is cheap right now, I would suggest a set % and higher coin balance.  Maybe adjust coin balance requirement in the future to manage the number of masternodes?  Too many masternodes too quickly and the incentive will drop through the floor, right?  The last time I calculated the return on a DRK/DASH masternode it was about 7-8% per year and dropping quickly with so many masternodes coming online.  To me, that's a terrible incentive for the amount of risk.  I'd rather see a decent and solid %, and fewer masternodes...
