You start to freeze after you fully synced? There is a known problem with syncing and wallet using more RAM it should, which icm said would be fixed in the next update. If you are not fully synced before freezing, I can upload the latest blockchain right now.

I brought that up weeks ago,  the client can't even correctly import a bootstrap.dat for the blockchain. 
I hope ICM comes up with a solution, I know the solution might not sound great though - if it is what I think it is.

Wallet synchronize is very big problem of crave.
You must make an electrum wallet for crave.
