There is turmoil in the ether and people are holding right now to what they got so no selling going on.
This drives the price downwards. Give it a week it will be back to $400 before you know it.

Yeah of course it will rise again, too many people are heavily invested and I reckon that quite a lot of people use it for everyday transactions and thus are still buying Bitcoins.

I really hope that it does go up. As more people get educated about Bitcoin and start using it, the price will surely go up. Halving is also near, that will also help the price go up.

Since Blockstream won't raise the limit
a fork will occur. Once the fork happens
a scalable version will likely quickly gain an economic
majority and price will go back.

With that developer walking away selling all his bitcoin and an exchange site hacked, not likely to happen sooner when users are into panic dumping their bitcoin but I hope so it will recover this coming months.

Yeah fall like something, Yesterday In between my hours I was checked the rate of bitcoin. I just shocked It fall to 370$ now. I don't what is happening in it. I feel these things for block halving marching only. If its go down also not a problem for me. I will buy bitcoin in this time.

Truthfully, there is a very high likelihood that Bitcoin will rise again, but we do need to find a solution to increasing block sizes. People are not going to buy 1TB HDD just to store some of their money on it, unless it is like buying a safe for gold, or other similar analogy.

If we can find a solution that doesn't rip the community in half, that would be far better than what is happening currently, and what we now have to watch happen. This results in the loss of value because people have to create drama.

We can pass of the worry of a block size for now, but we must use this as a warning to start working on it. We can't force ourselves into a hard fork or another split when node owners and user's can't handle the massive data sizes being transferred.

Just keep working on everything, and we'll eventually find a way around this.

People need to buy hardware wallets, that's what they need to do. Either that or buy a 500GB harddrive to keep up if you really want to run a full node in 2016. This brings me to a point, it's 2016! You can use alternatives to full nodes. Either you hold enough Bitcoins to keep it save in a Trezor, or you buy a new harddrive or you have so little money at stake that a mobile app will do for you. 500GB harddrives are very cheap, even 1TB drives are cheap. If the block size was doubled to 2MB tomorrow, the space needed wouldn't explode all of a sudden either.

Yep bitcoin will rise again and reach its value as it is before. Due to some undisputed talk there is a huge reduction in the value of the bitcoin. Now it has started falling, which will rise within a short term as everyone expecting.

Sure, it will. Just look back 6 months ago. Price was around $190-200. And see what it was a week or two weeks ago. We are still in a bullish trend with a little correction now caused by two events (Cryptsy closing and Mike Hearns statements).

I would be really worried when the price goes under $300 and $280 ago. These are two important chart technical resistances.

What you are saying is correct but at this time we need to have patience and not panic as it is believed that the price would reach $1000 in the coming years, so we are waiting and hoping that it should reach to that level and it will rise again once the adoption level is increased the value of bitcoin will also rise.

I will also point to this fact that it was not the first negative statement of Mike regarding Bitcoin. Last August, he also made a bad comment and the price cashed. Bitcoin recovered then and will recover again with a little time. With the price below $400 a buying opportunity presents.

The problem is the cycle repeats time and again. Weak hands lose money.
If you don't have the confidence to buy at these lows, the least you can do is resist the temptation to sell.

I just read the bitcoin obituaries,they have killed bitcoin 88 times already and this latest one is no different from the way they kill bitcoin in the past right now bitcoin is stabilizing at $370 hopefully it will not go lower than that I m positive that after two months it's back to trading at $400 plus

Who cares about Cryptsy going down, after 2-3 months we will have the best Exchanger from real programmers from WWW.MYTRAFFICVALUE.COM , its ETA is end of March beginning of April and the fees will be the lowest. So Cryptsy can be live, can go down, I personally don't think it will influence BTC  a lot when we know a very good exchanger is right ahead of us. You can read daily news forum from MTV website.

I expect that bitcoin could recover its recent levels on some days or few weeks. Its normal that another problem on a big exchange moves the price of bitcoin down. We need to wait and see how the price is going these days.

It is most likely that Bitcoin will be increasing in value again over the next week, but we definitely do have to wait and see what will happen with the market. It seems that the drop has been significantly slowed, but it hasn't stop yet. We'll still have to wait and see what happens overall, as it has the potential to go up or down.

In the OP I didnt mean price necessarily (although that will happen too).  It will rise from the current turmoil, division,  uncertainty,  and impasse....once a scalability solution is implemented and becomes standadized.

Fundamentals control the destination of the price.  You may get a bounce at technical support level but if bitcoin cant scale the rally will be short-lived.

Bitcoins glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time it fails.

Bitcoin will either rise, or fall.

It will Rise if Classic is implemented, and Bitcoin returned to the original path set for it by Satoshi (and common sense).

I cannot imagine that it will fail, but Blockstream/Core SUpporters are already gearing up for a battle to the death of bitcoin.  If they can't control it, they will see it die.  DDOS attacks, FUD attacks, they will come at Classic strong when it is released.

Already over 50% of the Mining Power publicaly supports Classic.  But EVERYONE running a miner or a node needs to get involved and be ready to upgrade.  Classic needs to roll out like a powerful tidal wave and show that the community is solidly in concensus.  And Bitcoin will then Rise to unimaginable heights.

Gone will be the confusion, bitterness, division and low prices that have marked the Blockstream/Core reign.  They have destroyed the public image of Bitcoin.   With all that has been going on in the global financial meltdown - Bitcoin would be over $1000 and rising fast if Blockstream/Core hadn't done so horribly in their short term of leadership.  Poor Leadership.

bitcoin process needs to be organised in such a manner that it can be managed by monarchy or diplomatic method. So that if one person who holds the responsibility moves also it won't affect the system growth.

We have to be optimistic now. Sure the price suffered a hit, but it's going back to 400 dollar again.

Based on what I am seeing in the market, that is a completely plausible theory for the increase after the dump.

Also while looking at the increase in value, the Bitcoin economy has gotten past the "Oh my god he said something bad SELL" stage and is moving to the "wait I can use this to make money" stage. I want to watch what happens over the next few days, but it is most likely Bitcoin will survive one more year.

it has risen from 200 USD last year, it is a big rise actually, not a big rise before block halves, since we had big rise in the end of 2013, so I think in 2016 there will be a big rise, maybe re-hit to 1200 USD, or higher, let's see, but now 4XX USD is very high now.

I'm not sure when it will rise, but it will not be exactly anytime soon. We will have to focus on making more quick deposits within the blockchain. I know there has been some speculation of when it will work out, but it just won't be this moment.

Back on topic, bitcoin has its many reasons that will make it bounce back up. First is the growing public interest. Next is investors putting tons of money into it and its infrastructure and most importantly, the features it offer to the masses (which isn't fully recognized by most people yet.)

There never was a rise to $1000. It was only speculation. Only traders getting crazy with a price increase that they had created themselves. Bitcoin's real price back then was somewhere around $100-$200 and it rose to a full $200 through this bubble. You could say that the bubble brought more people to bitcoin while harming it at the same time by exposing one of its biggest weaknesses: price manipulation.

I think the halving will have a significan impact on bitcoin price and take it to a new level (assuming demand will keep constant, so the drop in offer makes the price increase).

I am also viewing a large number of people adopting it and their number is increasing more and more as the days pass, plus the fluctuation in price make it more interesting for the traders to invest in it and start trade with it, as these situation makes the profit more faster for traders. I am not so sure whether bitcoins will benefit from this halving. It all depends on the demand and market trades as well and currently the price is not too high. If litecoins can drop after halving last year, bitcoins too may drop but I am still holding my coins till then and am ready for the results.

I too do think that bitcoin will rise soon as last it was high in November and then in December-January it increased by about $50-$70 and then again decreased. The market also has more buyers and new investors are eyeing bitcoins as alternate investments.

It will take time to reach to a value of $1k, maybe next year, as the price is playing between $360 and $370 at a moment, so many of us are very much disappointed at a moment as we expected that price would be much higher at this stage.

it successfully recovered from multiple price falls and therefore I think it can easily keep rising up and up, Bitcoins already recovered from the Mike Hearn price fall and I think it can rise higher IMO.

I strongly believe we need not to worry about the current prices of bitcoin. It will very soon bounce back to short-term target of $500. There are many reasons for that, but the prime factors are upcoming halving and current global economical situations.

Yes the primary goal is that it should reach $400 in next couple of weeks, if it reaches to that mark then people would be a satisfied feeling and it would go much higher after halving, maybe it will cross $600 after halving and that is the descent value.

I agree, slow but steady price rise over longtime is preffered, together with more companies and people actually using Bitcoin. When I see some altcoins price grow very fast over few weeks, this just indicate speculation pump and dump - and the useability/acceptance of these altcoins didnt improved much to justificate such price rises - so good reason to stay out if the price rise to much and too fast.

Halving, I think, would somehow affect the price of bitcoin positively though that isn't sure yet. Historically, every halving brings positive effect on the price. With the drama on the two factions about block size limit changes, I don't know what would come out of this halving.

Yeah, that is true, last year bitcoins price was very low specially in the middle to third quarter of the year and just get back  by November and December,, but this year is a different story,we are just starting and might see a rising price this coming months...

I don't worry much about the price, it's usually not stable and mostly rises again after falling and sometimes fall after reaching high levels but you never know. I don't think it's smart to sell at lower price because "panic sellers" anywhere even in financial field rarely make anything or profit from trading.

this year is going to be the year of bitcoin, it is going to rise up again and be as glorious as it was before. therefore a lot more people are going to come to bitcoin and invest in it.

I believe there will be still better opportunities to entry than today, if someone hasn't done that end of last summer. $350 seems to be as a stable bottom for the last couple of months, and have withstand all the tests so far. Nevertheless I think, we will still see sub$400 in the coming weeks. Therefore an entry at around $380 would be a good buying point for me.

If you have enough patience and dedication to hold your coins for at least 2 years, then you will get very happy with the profit you have made. From my time spent in btc and following the price.Now is not a good time to buy and definitely not a perfect time, if you wait a few more weeks you'd likely get $40[10% cheaper per btc. That is what I think as well. To me it looks, like we are still within the channel $350-415 and should return at least to the middle line ($380s) one more time. However, today and yesterday we spent above the upper line of the channel and if we are able to hold it that would mean a break out to the upside and a possibility for further move up. I don't see fundamental factors to support such a rally for now, but Bitcoin price is based predominantely on specualtion and thus we may go further than one would though.

It will not be very  soon. We are still waiting for the results of the SegWit implement to increase the block size.

Today I talked with one expert about price of bitcoin, first his answer was "I don't know", then he said that he expect around 550$ before halving. He is in btc world much more then me, he trade a lot and have finished economy college. Until now all his predictions was good, if he don't hit exact price he is very close to it.
I believe him, and in his talks I found a lot of good arguments. We will see is he made a good prediction this time.

i do believe that there is still around 50% of potential profit that we can make if we buy some coins at the current price. after that, i can't really see the price increase much more than that this year. we can only hope that the price will not drop back to current price levels after the block halving. that would be really sad.

As we all know that the halving of the Bitcoin will come soon and that can be nice of the most people because there are a lot of people that is using Bitcoin  is waiting for a higher value so they can sell it later with a lot of profit and that would be nice for them.
But even some people said that the value of the Bitcoin wont even rise and that we have to wait a longer time until the value will be higher so that would be bad, because not everyone has the patience for it.

Actually we should accept it, it is all because of halving, if halving doesn't come in this year, so 100% it is not possibility that bitcoin will grow day to day. bitcoin will be grow but not in this fast way. so i want to tell that's all because of halving.

yeah right, if I'm not mistaken halving previously been brought bitcoin prices rising high.

The price that is rising now its only because of  the halving, so make sure that you sell at the right time to gain profits, because once if it drops then it will take long time to rise again.

The bitcoin will also rise again for sure without any doubts, the bitcoin has a good future and you can now already see it rising to higher amounts, its now even around the 530 dollar.

how do you know the number of bitcoin users has grown due to the block halving? to me it doesn't really makes sense as if they really tuned in because of the block halving, they will also leave once it is over as the block halving attracted them. the price is going up due to the heavy manipulation coming from china. that's it.

What's funny is that the price back then went down from $430 to $380 because of Mike Hearn's little stunt during the block size debate. And now the price already went past $530 while the debate still goes on
