Hi,

I have 5000€ to invest in crypto.

What do you think for buy 5K€ in BTC for the halving, or buy stuff for minning ETH and other crypto?

As much as I'm a big fan of investing into mining rigs (considering if I have the funds), the better and safer move at this time, could be spending those 5k€ into buying BTCitcoin and letting it stay in your disposal and hope for the halving to give a great profit as result but there's also the saying of "don't put whatever you have in one egg" so perhaps, you should use half of it for buying BTCitcoin and the other have for investing into mining rigs (considering you have cheap electricity bill, if not, then forget this).

i can only say one thing to you about this: Research before investing because this is a particularly risky investment. i am not only talking about ETH but generally about mining. you should consider difficulty rise, your electric bill, the chance of the price of that coin going down because of massive dump like ETH, ...
calculate these things and then get in.

is not a bad idea to invest it all in btc and wait for the halving, almost everybody is convinced that the price will raise yes or yes, so...

in the other hand you should not put all your eggs into the same basket ;) so maybe leave some $ for alt coins or maybe trading and use the rest for the halving is not a bad idea neither.

My advice would be to buy ETH when it hit's the 3 usd mark.
Bitcoin could be a good investment if you can hold the money for 3 years. Suppose the price goes down and you need to sell with loss then that woudl be bad.

I think we have seen the worst for bitcoin and the price is now slowly but steadily going back to where it should be, about $600...

We have not seen sudden increase or crash before or after reward halving so just relax and enjoy the latest development each day.

If the 5K is something you can afford to lose, I think you should go all into bitcoin. Maybe buy about $1000 every fortnightly when you "feel" that the price is low...

I know that there are already a few opinions on how to use it, but here's what I'd do; invest, say, 75-90% of your fiat into bitcoin. There's a high likelihood of you making profit in the next couple months or years, if you're willing to wait. Then, convert the rest into altcoins; I'd say ETH is looking good, yep. It's had a huge increase since the last time I've purchased, which was a while ago.

Don't waste any of your time and money with buying mining equipment. It's not worth it. Put the complete €5000 in Bitcoin and wait till the block halving pump gets very active the coming months and make sure you sell just before the block halving as I believe at that time the price reaches its highest point.

i prefer just to trade for difference because it has low cost on trading platforms
after that exchange profits person to person to prevent big bank fees during cash withdrawals

 

I don't thinkw that mining is still profitable, so I wouldn't suggest to invest in it. Trading is also dangerous if you don't have exprrience, so be careful and start with lower amount.that you cana.afford to lose.

I think you answered the question yourself. Simply buy bitcoins and wait for halving if you wish some fast earning, or you can also wait a bit longer. In both ways there is chances for losing a small amount, its a bit risky like any other investment. With some other alts risk is much bigger, maybe not even for little lose you can lose everything you have. If you see price of btc falling you can sell, I don't think it will fall fast. But with crypto I think chances for coin to go to zero in a day are much bigger.

What is important for you is to set up a goal, how much you wish to earn. My advice for you is to try to not be greedy, in many cases that will make you lose money after you make some profit.  That happen to me all the time, before much more now not so often. I`m still learning, if you are smart you will learn from other peoples mistakes, not like me.

That is a lot of money to invest but it would be better if you are also save some money because you never know what will happen with Bitcoin and that would be bad.
Of course it is nice that you are going to make an investment so you can maybe earn some more money later and that would be nice for yourself.

The most important thing is that you must sell it on the right moment and that you can make profit with it.

Its indeed a pretty large amount but you should only invest in the bitcoin in my eyes, the bitcoin is indeed unpredictable.
The halving is also coming so investing now is also one of the best things you can do.

5k is a pretty nice number to invest in the bitcoin because its not too much but also not too less.

Yup, it is best to invest in bitcoin because the price is stable increasing. It has the possibility after how many years that your investment will be doubled. I think it is the best investment of all.

If everybody is convined, it is included in the price already indeed. Nobody can know for sure though, so if you're on the selling front, go ahead!
Short term you can profit if you're lucky, long term I still think holding bitcoin will be more profitable. And this too is what everybody is doing :)

You should buy now btc for the halving this is the safest that i know on how you earn without risking your money because when you buy other stuff for mining other crypto can loss your 5k€.

At this moment in time i think eth might be a bit of a risky investment. Bitcoin at least has held pretty good value but eth seems to be volatile as hell. Although if i was to cash out what little eth i have today then im sure the price will then sky rocket.

if halving could have a large impact on the price as most people say it really makes the price increase, maybe I'll buy bitcoin and just wait a few months and then you can sell it :) , and buy bitcoin is very safe, you also do not need to think any way to grow, just waiting and watching the price :)

That is a lot of money but as you can see now you see also that the value is not that high now around this time so it would be not bad if you are making an investment in Bitcoin.
But you have to also save some money for backup later if the value is going down of Bitcoin.

I think 5k is a good number to start with and with the 5k you can make a lot of profit this year with the halving.

I would invest all of it in btc.  No alt coins, no mining.  5K is a lot but not enough for mining.  Also, I have been looking into mining and I keep coming across posts of miners saying they're getting out of it because it is no longer profitable.

Do you know that the price of bitcoin has doubled in the past year?  That is an awesome investment, better than the DOW or NASDAQ.  Not that you even have to hold onto it for a year.  You could hold onto it for 3 months and see how it goes.  As long as this investment is something you can ride out without making you sleepless at nights. 

And if you decide you can't bare to take the volatility of its price, you can liquidate it on any of the peer-to-peer exchanges like LBC and paxful.  That is where I would buy them too.

Then when you feel like you want to reinvest in bitcoin, you can re-enter. 

Once you have gotten used to the whole buying of bitcoin, you could take more risks by learning how to trade in bitcoin.  The advantages is that you are constantly going from btc to fiat, so if btc takes a hit, you can still do well.  The disadvantages: the learning curve.  Expect to pay for your mistakes.

Either way, I say buy btc.  Start with that before you try alt coins.  Good luck! 

yes imminent halving, and I'm waiting for a few months is not detrimental thing .. you can earn more profits later on, you can get the price of bitcoin which has doubled compared to the current price.

I'd say just buy BTC for future price hikes. It's the safest.

Altcoins are often held largely by one single person or organization, making it way too easy to pump up the price, and dump them when the owners think the price is right. Also their market capitalizations are quite low, making them illiquid compared to BTC.

5000 Euro thats a very nice amount, you can buy up to 12-13 BTC , I suggest you buy this amount of coins, but before you do this first buy a hardware wallet ranging from 20-100 EURO so you have your Bitcoins safe and these are malware proof.  Wait patiently for the halving in July, the price should go up at least 20%, sell your coins then if you want much better profit than banks, or keep them in your hardware wallet for the future where bitcoin price has a possibility to skyrocket toward 5000-10000 USD making your investment very profitable.

That is indeed a lot of money and it would be nice if you can make indeed an investment where you can make more money later in the future and that would be perfect for you.
The bad thing will only is that you must maybe wait a long time until the value will be more otherwise it would be not possible.

I would buy 10 BTC, and maybe for the rest of the money I would buy ETH. Further I would surely not store
them on an exchange or an a wallet on either PC or mobile device. Either store them safely on several
paper wallets and put them in a safe, or better invest in a hardware wallet ( I personally use a Ledger Nano ) to

If you're sure that bitcoin value will increase after halving, you can buy bitcoin and hold it until it reach your target profit.
I think invest on bitcoin rather easier to manage since invest into hardware things ( mining ) not worth of your time and profit !

bitcoin buy and hold it may be quite promising. if halving really make bitcoin prices to rise to the height, probably a good thing is the investment in the form of bitcoin

I would go with the first one by buying bitcoin and wait for the halving, i would not go buying mining stuff because i think holding is more profitable if the price keep increasing, other crypto can be a good option too.

i guess you don't want to invest your coins of 5k$ to gambling or other site, so you should either buy bitcoins for it, or choose other currency that have small price

but i would buy only bitcoins with that, and i would trade using them because it is much easier to buy and use bitcoins than to directly buy any other currency

I would go for the full invest of bitcoins and just hold it till the end of this year because of the halving that is coming.
It will most likely let the price increase.

I think going full into the bitcoin is not good, I would invest the half in other stockings, maybe you could invest in a bitcoin casino or something with the half of it.
You can than me profit on the normal way and with another investment.

Bitcoin casino is a half decent thing to invest and spend time in.
But the money is to made in real life stocks. Put at least half into that then the other half into bitcoin trading then you will be golden within 6 months.

If i were you try to use the way LESS RISK earning like trading, mining and signature campaigning. Just buy altcoin in low price, and sell it . Easy money here in trading but you should know how to trade surely, you should know what is the best altcoin in trading this method of earning is Slowly but surely. But if you want to FAST EARNING but Riskking your money try to gamble.

You have a nice amount of money to invest in something  serious for sure.  With that money I would try several things like gambling, trading, site investing. All this things require some skill,  so use 100 $ to sharp your skills  first and then try with more.  Be careful its all i can say too you,  with that money you are nice target for scammers.

There is a high risk for this one, if the pump is really just a bubble and you will hold this till the end of a year. Because of bubble price will surely go increase but after that price would decrease significantly too because of users probably sell. So I suggest dont hold it till end of year. Sell it once the bubble come.

Bitcoin isnt really a pump and dump.

Its been a hurdle yes, but its not a pump and dump esp when one of the 1st exchanges made it that scenario only happen at the time.

The pump and dump scenarios youre talking about, is more towards alt-coins that have no value unless its used for some services, forcing you to buy the alt-coin.

If that 5k is purely for crypto currency investment alone, I'm assuming you have other funds stashed elsewhere? That's a huge amount and I had the same amount at my disposal, I'd put 70% into BTC and hold onto it for at least the end of the year. The remaining 20% would go to trading alt coins.

That is a lot of money mate but investing will be of course nice if you are going to do that but you have to know that it can be also risky if the value is going down and that would be bad for you.
You have also to save some money for later and that would be nice for yourself.

5000 euros is huge amount of money so you must be very careful doing something with them, as there are many scammers/hackers with bitcoins these days, don't lose your money

i think that you should invest like 500 euros to etherium, and rest to bitcoins, as in July we will get bitcoin block reward halving so price of them will rise and you will get profit

Try to find a trader who sells bitcoin in bulk. Try to bargain and get the bitcoin at the best price possible. So if sold after halving surely you'll get a big profit to buy your mining equipments for your future mining.

i would not consider getting a big mining eq atm  you have 2 options here first the safe one is to buy bitcoins and keep them at okcoin or poloniex lending you can get like 5% a month or more depending on market  second with is less safe but could be better is to wait for the nvidia new cards coming out next month reports getting massive gains in preformance if that gonna effect their mining performance the same way then hell yeah u better buy a new rigs with those cards.

You could just invest the 5k fully into the bitcoin because the bitcoin is gonna rise to a high amount.

Just use it to buy the traditional notes but in shorter time frame until you gain a bigger principal. Unless youre willing to risk 50% $2,500 into loan types like lendingclub which is something like btcjam, but in traditional fiat form.

I think u can split this like:
3k on bitcoins
1k on DAO tokens
1k on waves.

Your profit gonna be big.

You should invest it in mining, this seems to be a sure-fire profit model if done correctly.

Just invest it in the bitcoin and wait till the halving, you can later on cash it out and make big bucks with it.

The price was stable for a long time and that is now rising slowly but if you want to make an investment now than it will be not that worst I think.
Or if you have patience you can wait a longer time until the value will be lower so the chance is higher that you can earn more money with it.

mining isn't profitbale anymore for the majority of the coins, which basically means that if you buy some hardware to mine with you'll never roi unless you insta mine a new altcoin that will explode in value after some time. as long as that doesn't happen, mining isn't worth the time and money you put in it.

You are right about that if you invest 5k full into the bitcoin you will gain profit with the halving for sure, the halving will help you and double your money!

if you have cheap electricity any coin that is not dead it's profitable, you can even have profit at 50k satoshi per gpu with 5 cent electricity, it's all about electricity price

If I was you, I would invest more in Altcoin. Especially in a few new alt that are promising, or again in some ICO trying to get a great return. Obviously, more ROI means more risk, but I think that if you know how to diversify you can reach great results.

You have nice amount to invest, so i think you can in invest in ETH the best altcoin next to bitcoin, surely it will profitable with in one year.

Don't waste your time mining if you have sufficient funds. Just buy 75% BTC and 25% ETH, the others are too risky.
Youll end up losing everything.

If you know Forex quite well, you can invest in binary options. It is probably one of best choices, because you can invest not all 5k, but just part of it and make great profit.  ;)

Investing into the bitcoin with 5k can be good but keep in mind that if you invest in the bitcoin it always has huge risks, the bitcoin can still collapse and fall apart.

My friend, you should restrain your emotions before deciding where to invest your hardly gained money. You should research for other options to invest with less risks, taking into account the importance of diversification as the wiser way to invest your capital.

That is a lot of money to invest and you also can see now that there will be more people that is going to make an investment so that would be perfect for the future.
You also can make some more money if you are save some money so that would be perfect.

investment is really great for a 5k. if you want to make that 5k grow just keep buying btc when it is low and keep it till the rate goes up then thats the time you can sell it. always take note or record in how many btc you've bought and the rate of that btc so you can calculate the profit when you sell it.

5k is a nice number to invest and I think you can make a lot of money with 5k, investing 5k is a good number also its not too high and also not too low in my opinion.

That is a lot of money and that would be nice if you can make such a nice investment the only thing that you need to make an investment is that you need some patience for it.
And it can takes also a long time when it will reach a high value so that is the problem and you are not for sure what can happen with the Bitcoin.

investing in bitcoins for the future is a good idea with 5k but if you want to invest them in bitcoins you need to know that is take a long time before you have any profit the best way it to invest now and to sell them in a couple of years so dont use them between now and then.

If you are gonna invest with such numbers you better have a good plan otherwise it can go very wrong.
Overall you can make a lot of profit with such a nice number but keep in mind 5k is a pretty high amount to risk if the bitcoin collapse.

5k is quite some money. I would make sure to use half of it for investments. And use the other half for some investment in for example bitcoin.
Altcoins are quite risky so try to avoid that.

i think that you should buy as many bitcoins as you can for 5000 euros and yes because of halving, as you will get lots of profit when you will sell your bitcoins after halving

and i don't think that you should buy etherium or other altcoin as they are pretty risky, waiting for halving with bitcoins is much safier than buying new currency as etherium

That is a good advice. I mine the Etheruem quite a lot. I keep 30% of it and convert the rest to bitcoin.

That is a lot of money and it wont be that bad if you are making an investment of course because you need to sell it on the right moment and that would be nice.
But of course you are not for sure that you can earn profit so you have also save some money for later and that is nice.

DAO and ETH not showing any signs of growth for now. I do think they will grow in the future. Factom as well.

Yup always have a buffer fund to keep your investments on the move.  You might need some of it in some other kind of investments other than trading.

I do not recommend you to do this honestly because the fact is that domain buying is risky and you can even lose profit easily.
I think investing in the bitcoin itself is also nice and let you make money easily on a method that is not requiring much.

It can be good but its really depending on what kind of domain it is, I also would not recommend someone to do this because mostly you will get scammed or paying way too much at the end of the story.

That is a huge amount but it wont be smart to invest all your money in Bitcoin because it is hard to know what the value will be of the Bitcoin but that is just the risk that you should take.

Thats huge amount dude but if youre willing to take risk to get richer then ill recommend you to hoard btc this bitcoin halving,because it has potenial that it can double your money dude.But if you want to earn sure earnings you better go cloudmining specially on hashocean and other trusted cloudmining sites,and you can also invest at trading with that huge money you can start trading and earm big profits

For me it's not advisable to put it on cloud mining sites because just like hashocean the ROI or Return on Investment will take a couple of months like 2-3 months so it's not the smartest way to grow or invest your bitcoin. If i were you and i have 5k EUR, i will buy it bitcoins and invest/put it on trading sites and grow my bitcoin as much as i can so when the halving comes and atleast i grow my bitcoin up to 150% and then i will sell it after halving at higher price, So the things that i do with my 5k EUR is "Buy Bitcoin, Grow it on trading sites, Then Sell It after halving"

5k is a nice amount to invest and because if that I would go full for the bitcoin due to the nice future it has.
If you invest it now you can make big bucks in the future with the halving.

Maybe it will be now too late if you want to make an investment because the value of Bitcoin started already but maybe you can make it fast so you can earn also profit later.

with halving in 1 month i don't think that you should buy etherium or any other crypto and you should buy as many bitcoins as you can and keep them for some time in your wallet

Not too late, but seeing the price reaction only confirms on where the price can go.

Its still far away since the halving will most likely come around next month.

Just invest the 5k into the bitcoin(fully) and wait till the halving has been done, if the halving has been done you probably will make a lot of money with just simply selling.

Yeah, if you actually have 5k euros to invest, be sure you invest it in bitcoins. It is one of the safest bets you can make right now, and the profits you will get cannot be underestimated. But you do have to have the patience to go long term.

You could also loan out these coins on a P2P lending platform like bitbond, but that involves risks.

i don't think that you should invest that to etherium or it's mining as  i don't really think that it is good idea, it is not that profitable too so you will probably only lose your money

but i really think that you should buy as much bitcoins as you can for this price and keep them till halving, because price will rise then for sure so you will get lots of profit from it

i can say that it's not a horrible idea to buy bitcoins for that money and just keep them in your wallet for halving, as we know that price will rise after halving so you will get profit

and other good idea is to invest that money to bitcoins trading, i don't think that you should start mining if you have expensive electricity, but if you have cheap one then you can mine too

I can suggest as of now is to buy bitcoins with that money because the price of the bitcoin is continue rising and i think that it's a good move to buy bitcoin and sell it for $900-1k per piece. All we need to do is to wait for that price to happen and we will feel our big profits ;D.

Yeah trading is a good choice to place that 1k eur because in just a few couple of days or week we can double that amount depending on the trend of the coin that we choose.

That is a nice of amount but it wont indeed that smart if you are now making a investment and that is because you have to know that the value of Bitcoin is becoming higher.
So that is really bad for people who wants to make an investment.

Good for you because you are making money in lending online despite of the people who are complaining that they are just being scammed in their lending operation online, I guess the safest way is just to hold your bitcoins and with that big amount of investment it is already good for long term investment.

There are really people that could able to handle  lending businesses and could able  to secure  profits  on that field. I can't take to put up such huge amount on cryto trades since scam coins are scattered on every exchange, so if we have 5k EURO in our hands much better if we invest in on stocks and find a good brooker who can play your on,  crypto trades are not really needed huge money and advisable to put only some little of our spare money so los will not destructable when markets goes down.

I was analyzing the eth price recently and seems that they had a dump few days ago and the price went from 0.009 to 0.011.

No, I don't prefer this method either, but I mean not investing in only one altcoin but also not invest in many altcoins.
Because the more your investment are spread the less the stability is, so focusing in only 2-3 altcoins maximum is the best range.

I would prefer to invest most of it in Bitcoins but maybe a little in some of the major altcoins. I try to stay away from the minor altcoins though.

Yes mining will not be profitable unless you have cheap electricity or some solar panels. If were talking about safe here, then bitcoin will do because it has already proven itself in the past years, the risks are low and is also good for long term investments. As for altcoins it is usually good for shot term investments only few stayed strong that are considered good for long term. And Yes since you have a huge capital invest it to different things.


If you're avoiding high risks, then pick the already proven but if you're willing to take more risks for a much more profit then analyze and do your reasearch on the new and upcoming coins if they will do good in the future

You can always get fucked temporarily if the price goes down, and I wouldn't buy as of now as we don't really know what's going to happen. Not too good of a time to buy, I'd wait and see if price goes down any before buying. If you're inexperienced at trading I recommend trading some cheaper coins and working your way up as trading can be pretty costly.

Here is what I would do with those 5K€ based on the own experience of an old jerk timer:

If you really have that amount, don't invest everything right away coz unlike what people say, you never know what your future gonna be and what will happen to the Bitcoin ecosystem: gouvernements could hunt BTC owners, rate could collapse, etc.

Split that amount in 5 years, ie you gonna invest 1K€ a year; so now lets say you have 1K€ to invest in 2017. Put those remaining 4K€ to your saving account which could yield to 0,5-2% of interest a year, depending of your bank/country.  I would do that coz maybe after few months your mind could change, or something could happen: you could get divorce, have health issue, loose your job, buy a new car, or wanna leave the Bitcoin world. Nobody's perfect  ;D

But finally, keep in mind those remaining 4K€ are still an investment you plan to do in the future (maybe). So keep them on your saving account, they won't be eaten by the yearly inflation.

Now with those 1K€, you have an accurate view of the investment you wanna do in 2017, and if you are here in Bitcointalk, this means you wanna invest in BTC, right ? So here is the way you should do:

As a trader 5k is a good amount i can be flaunting around especially in a bearish market. I will buy bitcoin low sell high bcos it is sure what i buy low will pump little and will gain. But you have to learn how to do this at least some experience in trading.

if I have 5k euros, maybe I will invest on ETH. well, right now in my head there is only ETH. although btc also looks promising, however, eth has an affordable price for me. having them in large quantities is still my target for now.

Well, I think you should allocate it for bigger return. Say 50% for bitcoin and the rest for buying top 10 alt coins based on their market cap that you can easily find in coinmarketcap.com. I don't recommend the rest for buying mining rig but it requires expensive resources.

5k€ is a good amount and if you want to invest it in crypto currencies then the best way tk get maximum output with minimum risk is, invest your money in different currencies. You can make a list of coins which are doing good in market including ethereum and bitcoin and then devide you money and then invest on them.
I will suggest you to go for NEO, EOS, ETH and BTC .

Will be better to chooce top 10 ranking in coinmarketcap because all those coins has good fundamental. And if you want to chooce 2 or 4 of them, in my opinion is BTC, ETH, NEO, XLM, ADA. All these coins try to start up trend now and its best times to get it and hold a few month or to maximize the profit, trade it by swing trading. Put that money in minimum 2 different coins to manage the risk.

i personally don't like the mining game, takes a lot of money up front. and it takes at least a couple of months to recoup something from your first investment, and then you are starting to make money. after that you are depending on what the market is doing. i would do some research on trading and investing and decide what is good for you, just always do good research.

If i were you i would invest the whole 5k in crypto because at this point mining isnt worth it.  The only way it could be worth it is if crypto began to go back up and by investing in crypto right now you could cash in on the inevitable rise instead of mining to get the coins.
