I smoke and i am curious how many Forum users do also.
I bet more do not smoke than do.. just the trend these days i think.

I started in my parents home at 11 years old.
I got caught sneaking around smoking and i was confronted by my MOM.
Who said she had discussed it with my step-dad..
She said it would be safer than sneaking around smoking.
So..
I was smoking a pack a day + by 12 years old.
I turn 41 this year and i have gone no more than "hours" quitting.
I think i will die a smoker !

I also have known more than once person who either died or almost died from it.
My room-mate 1.5 years ago had part of his lung cut out from cancer for example
And he started smoking again a few months later.

So in case you all did not figure it out.. smoking is addictive (probably a good idea to avoid it)

I tried smoking natural tobacco before and it was garbage.
It was like grabbing some random leaves from a tree & smoking it.
Every aspect of it sucked.. probably because there was no chemicals sprayed on it.
I had heard before they create freebase-nicotine and spray it on.
There was talk of this in court cases long ago and Big Tobacco said it was for "regulating" levels of nicotine.

Also if you are an American have you tried smoking our Canadian cigarettes ? Like them ?

     I smoke like a chimney. Thank god that my job is pretty easy on me and lets me take 6 smoke breaks a day, while looking the other way. I've been smoking for almost 30 years and have the constant smoker's cough to prove it. Not projecting that I will ever make it to retirement. I have tried quitting several times and always ended up smoking again
     I do not remember if I tried Canadian cigarettes or not. I was in Canada in the early 90s and remember being taken back by how much the cigarettes were. I think that I had brought my own across the border. The cigarettes were cheap on the Indian reservation close by the Twin cities.
     I started smoking a little when I was a teenager. However, the habit did not become daily until I was in college.

I am LUCKY to be a Native Canadian/Status Native.

Why?

I got MacDonalds Plain with Filter x2 packs for $17 CAD.

The other at any other store than the Creeland, that accepts Status cards would have cost $18 for ONE pack.

So, I DID get away with a good price.

I traveled across the USA in the 90's and was shocked how much cheaper they were in the USA.
I can't recall what they were here but i think between $5 & $6 per pack here x20 smokes.
And across the states they had big drums full by cash registers on sale for 99 cents each.
So i was buying them a lot with some Charleston Chew's (can not get those in Canada)

But what blew me away is we had laws in Canada change over the decades.
And as far back as i remember we never had big drums of smoke packs freely accessible to shoppers.
In our convenience stores they would be behind the counter or on display by the cash register.
Sort of like Beer which you can not find here unless you got a store that specializes in selling it.
Now.. we gradually had tougher laws put in place.
Stores are not even allowed to show you the smokes.
They by law have to be 100% hidden in cupboards or something that blocks seeing any packaging.
Which is retarded.. try figuring our what they sell..
Like hey do you sell Peter Jackson smokes store guy ?
Then the guy is never a smoker and has no idea.. and they are ALWAYS under lock & key
so it ends up being a grocery store line up staller from hell while people behind you roll their eyes.

And fuck don't get me started on the pictures they put on our smoke packs..

I had known before guys with an Indian Reservation status card that would buy me smokes cheap here.
Our Federal govt charges a HUGE massive Tax on smokes. (which Native Indians do not have to pay)
They blame us for huge health care costs..

Also Google search the difference between CAN & USA smokes people.
THERE is a huge difference between the two !
I could tell 100% of the time blind folded no problem.
And sorry but i think the USA kind has a hint of what i can only describe as a "manure" taste.
They do something very different between the two products across the border !

Myself i just buy pouches of Tobacco and roll my own with a little machine or use Zig Zaga.
It's waaaay cheaper !

Me too, but from time to time I smoke cigarettes too - I usually roll some from pouches of tobacco, because it is cheaper, but I don't like the smell... Most of the time I just vape from my electronic cigarette, which is "healthier" and I don't add any flavor to the liquid, because others around me may not like it... I can last a couple of days without smoking, but eventually I will feel the need to do it :D

   Well, you won't find cigarettes in big bins for 99 cents a pack anymore in the US, at least not in the state that I live in. They are all now kept behind the counter. They go for at least $5.00 USD per pack. With the Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement in 1998, the tobacco companies now have to pay the states over $200 billion.  The tobacco lobby used to be very powerful in the US. Not anymore. I kind of wish the NRA would lose it's power too, but I guess people love their guns too much here.


I used to get those as a child. I thought they stopped selling those, here in the US. Where can you still get those?

i quit smoking since its verified that smoking cigarretes let you teeth yellow, and kill.

Never really smoked and never really wanted to try it.
I just don't see the point. However, I respect those who are smoking, except for those people who blow their smoke right at my face. Makes me want to punch them in the face and shove their smoke down their throat.

I know this is my opinion and that is  your life but i think i have the need to say it and you don't even have to "listen".
You may have smoked a lot through out your life but  Don't you think that you had enough?
You could try to deplete its daily use (unless you have already tried and you just don't care anymore , but i will continue talking either way)
so that you won't smoke so much and at the end you won't even have to smoke again.
Now.. i don't know if its possible. maybe your Body needs it and it could be pretty bad even if you stop smoking.
But don't you want to live a little longer? and Not to live your last days on an oxygen machine or that kind of stuff.
 I don't know if its too late but  i am sure as hell that this is worth trying  because  we are talking about A "life"  and more specifically your life.
Yes people die everyday but even if the rest of the people don't care about your life, maybe you could Care instead of the "the other people ". embrace your life ..
there are still things to do even if you think that you have tried everything or something , You always want to live a little longer , you always want a little more  just like the cigarette .

I smoked all throughout my teenage years and into my early twenties as did most of my friends, It was one of these things that just came about with drinking etc, eventually i stiopped since i wasnt a heavy smoker but would still smoke when having a drink. Most of my friends where heavy smokers and continued past this but i just saw it as pointless and then ended up not even being able to smoke if drunk and now i wouldnt smoke if you paid me. and now due to vaporizors hitting the market, the majority of my friends have now quit smoking altogether and some just vape. I rarely meet real smokers anymore which is a good thing. I think eventually smoking will be wiped out except a few of us who the younger generation will look at like idiots.

I have smoked many a times, but I can control it at my will, so I am not a chain smoker.
A little bit of it is fine after a lot of study hours, it relaxes my mind for more study.

I dont smoke and Im really happy, All smokers I know would like to stop. They seem so weak, like some slaves with broken will when they talk me about how they are trying to stop, then goo and by new pack of cigarettes. It makes them look like they are complete losers.

I have watched two people drop dead in front of me choking to death.
You know what it's like sitting beside someone then staring at their blank dead eyes ?

Luckily both times the person snapped out of it & roared back to life.

What you might get out of smoking you *think* is positive.
Can not come close to the amount of negatives.

I have had some jobs for example where i worked indoors and i could not smoke.

I totally agree. The only real reason I still smoke is to avoid the gnawing feeling of withdrawals. I don't think they taste good, and I haven't felt a buzz from smoking a cigarette since 1989.

Yes I smoke rolling tobacco and like to smoke weed mostly whitewidow or haze. Sometimes I also smoke a blunt with weed with a juicy flavor the best is honey. Sadly enough they started with putting pictures on the packages and not all of them are disgusting to watch.

OP, I smoke additive free tobacco for like a year now, and pure natural since 2 months. It's so much better than buying a pack. I shred them from whole leaves, and with the different strains of tobacco you can make wishful flavors, you could also apply flavors yourself. Don't judge to quick, it will harm you less

i remember when i was first time smoke in high school which is 17-18 years old. my friends offer me to smoke and said its ok for us to smoke, come on try it. and i tried, after that, i am smoke with different brand but after i'm 19, i am realized that if smoke with different brand, its not good for health, so i search which one is match with me, and until now i am moving into other brand.

but its really difficult to stop smoke, i don't know why, and i really want to stop, maybe i need to slow to reduce the number of cigarettes smoked in a day. i only can do that for now, i wish it will continue until i stop smoke.

I detest conventional cigarettes though. I find them horribly stinky and the fumes are unbearable to be around. Rolling tobacco is a lot more modest.

I think that today very few people think about the consequences and the more active of passive smoking. Perhaps the isolated cases of people who are worried about their health and family, pay attention to it.

Has it changed your voice? And bad decision by your parents. Especially for something that's addicting. It's bad, but we rather you do it in front of us rather than sneaking, so go ahead, smoke. I'm sure wish they could take that decision back.

Somewhat those distrubing graphical health warnings on the label of each pack of cigarettes really do help people quit smoking.

I don't smoke since I was born in this world but I drink. I think the warning in the pack of cigarette help a little in some persons to quit smoking. But I know some people that did not even bother the image. All they think was the content of the pack and not the warning.

Why do many people expressed a negative about a bad habit of smoking and smoking at the same time. Why do people who realize that harm themselves.

I hated smoke since I was a child, mostly because my mom used to smoke a lot and her room looked like it had a smoke curtain above. It also damaged her health so i always hated it, for what it did to my mom. Good thing, she doesn't smoke now :)

I am surprised to see the result... Most people I know smoke. It's a disgusting, expensive habit to get into. There's really no benefits in doing it, and all it did was show me that many smokers (not all), are very self-centered if they don't get their smokes. The best advice to give someone: don't start. And if you're a smoker against smoking(which you probably are), don't give out your cigarettes to people, especially kids... You are basically just ruining their life. And don't tell me anything differently. My family could have had much more money for things if the people in it didn't smoke 2 packs a day, that shit is expensive! That's before we start the whole health issues we all had while living in a home with a smoker (or 2).

I actually started vaping not because I tried to quit smoking (I hate when people are smoking near me, that smell...). I just liked the way it felt for the first time, the taste, the smell
And I am not that kind of douche that vapes in public to showoff or to disturb anyone with it. I mainly do it only at home or where there are no people around.

There are cases when the elderly lifetime smoke and never complained of health. So it is not always the problem of smoking brings.

I smoke daily and I can actually consume one pack every day. Especially when I get drunk with my friends I can consume two packs of a cigarette. Right now I'm trying to get rid that kind of lifestyle I used to be, to quit is easy but when I'm with my friends I can't prevent to join and hang out with them. Better to dedicate into Bitcoin than smoking.

I am a smoker for over 17 years. I smoke 1 pack a day from monday to friday but in weekend when you know...beer, whiskey, clubbing that number is higher :)).

pack price in my country for what i smoke(kent long classic) is around 3,5euro and medium national salary is around 467 euro.
is US,  i see is from 6-10$ and medium national salary is like 3164$ so yeah, is good to live in US if you are a smoker :))

I smoke but only occasionally and only when I'm with my friends and only when they offer cigarette to me. I don't buy them and then smoke haha

I tried sooo many different cigarettes .... Winston (different brands) Kent, Next, Bond, Diablo, Captain Black, Glamour, Maxim, Java, etc. But my favorite is still Kiss love them .. a very different taste for compared with the above ...))

I want to try to smoke electronic cigarettes. I do not know they replace real or not, but it's worth it.

you got company here on a normal day i would smoke 2 packs of rothmans cigarette,if you start counting it feels like you are smoking a lot which is 40 cigarettes,usually i dont count as i purchase in carton

Unfortunately smoking is the only habit that I regret because it's hard to take it away from your system. I tried but due to my stressful work and most of my officemates do smoke I'm having a hard time quitting.

I'm not sure about what I'm going to vote if I was like the older version of myself because I smoke cigarettes before BUT doesn't want it always. There came a time that I really want to smoke because of the nicotine it gives you. It was addictive until I learned how to stop. Not because I had a girlfriend or something, it's because I had enough. It's bad for the health and makes your body a loser. It's hard to breathe and could cause complications in the future

I smoked cigarettes for over 20 years, quit over 2 years ago by vaping/e-cig, can't imagine still smoking, especially with the prices these days. Hell, when I started it was $.99 a pack, $1.07 with tax and now they're @ $7 here.

I smoke some cigarette but I am planning to quit I just try it because of my work and when I got bored but for real I don't really smoke,

I stopped to smoke a month ago as I started to vape instead.

I used to smoke around 5-10 spliffs a day and about the same cigarettes. After 15 years I was told I'm having a child so I stopped both that same day, I am now 2 and a half years down the line. I miss smoking though and when the kids leave I will be growing my own weed again and make up for lost time.
