In the rapid development progress of bitcoins, there has been countries where bitcoins are banned like China ,Bolivia ,Bangladesh and others.......... Since bitcoins are not in the hands of government , many countries have banned it and are in the phase on banning bitcoins............ So what should be done? What should be said to the governements?????

I would like to set somet facts straight here. Because you don't really know what you are talking about:

1. In Bangladesh, Bolivia and Thailand bitcoin is really banned. Bangladesh is the worst place for BTC so far: because "anybody caught using Bitcoin could be jailed under the country's strict anti-money laundering laws"
I am not really familiar if they are really executing this law.

- Bitcoin is banned only if countries which are weak and insignificant from the global point of view economy or either afraid that their own national currency is too weak to compete with cryptocurrency (Bolivia, Bangladesh). Or they banned BTC based on totally idiotic claims and fake prejudice (Bangladesh). 2. Bitcoin HAS NEVER been banned in China. This is a lie and total misconception. Chinese government financial institution can't use Bitcoin - that is all. Furthermore China is basically controlling bitcoin mining.

You should move over to the China board to see that bitcoin is flourishing there.
In fact, the largest bitcoin exchanges by volume are in China.

bitcoin and government i don't know why but seems they are cannot walking together because some government hate bitcoin and bitcoiners but if we see the countries around the world there is only a small part who banned bitcoin and the rest is accept bitcoin even though some of them not admit bitcoin as the currency but using bitcoin not an illegal actions such as in my country and as of my thought if government can't control bitcoiners they will not admit 100% bitcoin

Governments need to control all things in world if they can't control it they will try to ban it. In the start of Bitcoins most people never expected it will become this huge. Countries are also based on paying taxes and most Bitcoin users don't pay taxes over the Bitcoins they earned. Why you think there are that many Bitcoin gambling websites nowadays they don't pay taxes.

Bitcoin is not banned in China. They have forbidden its use as a medium of exchange. In late 2013 the first Chinese companies were starting to accept it for services. That's when they rolled in and said it could only be used to collect 'like stamps'.

They've got track record with this. Q coin, which is online play money and not crypto, was a huge deal in China until the government did the same thing.

I think in Bangladesh, it is also not banned because Payza is from Bangladesh and they are openly using bitcoin for depositing and withdrawal of funds in or out of Payza, I think nowadays there is no any country where people will not use Bitcoin,people all over the world from every corner is using bitcoin and they are free in that way.

in my opinion, the government should not ban the bitcoin because a lot of people are using this to earn money . this can also help the unemployed people and this can be a part time job for those employed people. actually, they should thank the creators because many of us are having a a money because of bitcoins so they should not ban it. they should consider everyone.

china with the largest mining factory in the world are not banned bitcoin, otherwise mining hardware will not growth as fast as now. i do not know about bolivia and bangladesh, i mean maybe bitcoin doesn't have to be accepted by countries but i am sure that in the next, government will realize that there are unit (bitcoin) that can be used by all country without we have to go in money exchanger in every country.

i think government should be wise to see about bitcoin, and they can learn what is bitcoin, why bitcoin can be growth like now, what factor behind bitcoin and etc. the wise government and good government must take a concern about bitcoin and can see the future of that country.

As long as I have known bitcoin, I don't remember hearing anybody banning bitcoin in China. Some governments like mine have even announced publicly that they don't recognize bitcoin as a form of currency. This doesn't mean that it is banned but it is only that they can not be used officially as a form of currency. In fact you will find that bitcoin is used more in those countries which do not recognize it.

I don't really understand how you could ban bitcoin. Is it feasible practically? Surely it would be quite simple to hide your bitcoin transactions using mixers, VPNs/Tor etc?

Bitcoin is accepted in most countries except a few. smaller countries with small economies that can not compete with Bitcoin. In a few years it will be in everyone Bitcoin

yes China is not going to bane bitcoin, they are encouraging the users of bitcoin, i think in all over the world the most miners are from china so how can they think about to bane bitcoin. they are promoting and developing it to become the world number one currency.

in fact bitcoin has become an essential part of our life. as most of the people are using it for busy and selling things. some people are using it for trading purposes and making good money from it. while other people are using it for investment, they invest their money in bitcoin, therefore it is very hard to think about the world without bitcoins.

China not banned bitcoin. Where did you find that news? China is one of the biggest bitcoin mining because of its cheap price of electricity. For me, i think theres no difference even the bitcoin disappeared because there so many alternative crytocurrency which is the same as the bitcoin do.

There is no need to say anything to governments that ban bitcoins. They will open their doors when they see that the world is shifting to digital currency - you can't argue with results.

i personally do not know about the countries who have ban bitcoin but i think that the number of these countries will be a few, and most of the countries have yet not given any statement about bitcoin, as in our country the government have not given any statement about bitcoin and we are using it freely any where.

I think it is not banned in China as everyone is openly using bitcoin in China and the most investors of bitcoin are from China, in major countries only Russia was against bitcoin but now they have allowed the use of it in their country,

i bitcoin is not providing a permanent job to people there is it not a big issue. but to me the main reason is that as in the modern world the  new generation trend is totally toward the online trading, buying and selling therefore bitcoin is a good option for them as compare to fiat currency.

A world without Bitcoin will still a working world. Bitcoin is only an alternative money for us who knows it. People can still continue what they are doing daily with or without Bitcoin . There are still the flat currency and the gold to use as an investment.

I think the governments should have to create their own wallets with their state banks with that they will be able to collect the data of their citizens who will use bitcoin and so the government will have control on them and there will be no nay issue for the government of anonymity.

Those countries were too boring and do not know what modernization and technology advancements are.  They will ban it especially if the government would not see anything that would benefit their country or their pockets.  Maybe if many countries will continue to use bitcoin and the need arise for them to accept bitcoin and legalized it then it is done.

Indeed.  Their government maybe are not open into some new things.  Maybe they are afraid of it might be used by their people on abusive ways and forget to pay their taxes.  These countries should review things with bitcoin for them to know more about it and maybe it could help them in some ways.  They did not know that their people who have no job can benefit through it.

That is right but if you cant convert your bitcoin to your local currency,you eventually will lose interest in bitcoin and thus banning bitcoin can reduce number of bitcoin users in btc banned countries

and this will make you to stay away from bitcoin. but i think the world will still continue even if there is no bitcoin found by satoshi. bitcoin is an alternative solution for us to make investment for long term, and of course for make money.

so you want to say that the government should have full control on the wallets people own and bitcoin should have under their influence, which the world will never accept, the government should accept bitcoin withe the present system and only then the originality of bitcoin will remain other will it will lost its originality.

You are right that no one will like that the government will have control on the bitcoin they own but if the government will approve bitcoin then they will stress to start their state wallets and will stress their citizens to use their national wallets for their use.

Yes I agree!  This world can live without bitcoin and other digital currencies.  Bitcoins are for people who are into digital world.  Those who make there computer their lives.  But I do not want bitcoins to be gone right now.  I have benefited through it a lot and all other people who uses bitcoin as another source of income or those who wanted an income.  I was able to make a living because of it.

Actually, that is how the world is going (Electronic). Bitcoin isn't mandatory to send money online because of the privilege of us having PayPal, Payza, M-Pesa, etc. With those people who like to buy online it may seem easier though they don't need Bitcoin to survive.

Not only for shopping but the gambling field has got much more attention as their are gambler who were not able to play because of their country restriction and depositing problem, but after bitcoin gambling came which dont need anything no age proof or any type of identification proof. gambler can bet . so i think without bitcoin gambling gamblers are helpless now.

Yes, thes OP must be wrong. China not banned bitcoin. Infact, China is the biggest bitcoin mining so the op is wrong. Some countries banned bitcoin because it can be use to crimes such as money laundering and can use by terrorist from buying weapons thats why they banned bitcoin.

I think governments have to accept that people use bitcoin and don't pay taxes. Or, they can make some sort of a licence you must have and pay for if you want to use bitcoin legally. Banning is not a good option IMO, because it will only lead to dark market and black economy.

Bitcoin get accept from government need some steps, the main factors is get agreement from the legislature as representative of citizens. For get agreement from legislative, need long time for become law.

The government will accept bitcoin or any crypto currency if the government feel can control it and keep the coin under supervision, the government want total control over all transaction and all of the user doesn't want this, so the government have 2 option, the first one is force everyone to have transparent transaction or banning the coin

Because the e-government is difficult to control, the best options is banned bitcoin. It happen in some countries, ie Ruasia. But I am sure, though Russia Government banned bitcoin, this will not reduce the use of bitcoin in Russia and other countries. Where countries accepted bitcoin? Until now, I never heared bitcoin accepted by the government. We must know, if bitcoin accepted surely jeopardize the country's national security, because the existence of bitcoin can divert the use of official currency to the bitcoin.

I think world without bitcoin it would not be a problem, and nothing will happen. But for the future existence of bitcoin should be considered, because I think bitcoin could be an good alternative money. So the presence of bitcoin should be considered, because if the bitcoin system is repaired, it will be a good alternative money in my opinion.

I guess, Bitcoins are mostly banned in countries that have less feedom than others. The goverments of such countries wish to control each and every step of their citizens and Bitcoin does not give such an opportunity to them that is why they do not allow it.  :(

And you really think that a central bank and/or a government would welcome Bitcoin with open arms. Central banks might think of creating their own digital coin that can be controlled/controllable and back their governments (such as Canada and Ecuador), but they wouldn't give that support to Bitcoin.

World without bitcoins will be so much more poor than this world .i cant even imaginate life without bitcoin cryptocurrency in earn money category because without bitcoin for me could be 100x times harder to make money online and withdrawal for own purposes because country fee is 40%.

I think you're misinformed. China is not banned bitcoin, even china is one of the largest countries that use bitcoin. I am sure, not many countries that specify a bitcoin. they just have not issuing proper regulations for it. The reason why bitcoin is not accepted is taxation, but in most countries it is not forbidden at this point, but if what happens is not known, if we take a step then we should consider this situation.

There are thousands of mining farms located in China and smart investors have put a lot of money into Bitcoin and other cryptos. Therefore, no one can ban Bitcoin in China. You are right china is the considered as the main country for the adopters of bitcoin. I have read all over the internet the most of the adopters and most of the miners and most of the traders are from China till that some of the people n this forum are convinced to say that bitcoin is controlled by China. Other countries who have banned bitcoin will also release the use of it in their country whenever they will know the benefits of the using of bitcoin.

Yes maybe will have a big impact for people using bitcoin, it will be a big loss because everyone who uses will definitely lose a lot of bitcoin and could possibly be considered a scam. But I think only a few countries banned the bitcoin even now some countries started to come to use it. So I think bitcoin will continue to grow and some countries started to use it, although not as a legal currency, but bitcoin will still be used as a commodity.

Well i would report to the government that bitcoin is really useful to those people who worked in the internet like private programmer and his client is in United States so the salary would be bitcoin and i know many countries banned bitcoin because i think they are afraid of bitcoin that they can't do anything about it but to banned and they can't really make a tax from it to some countries because they don't support bitcoin but for now i am really afraid if bitcoin will be banned here >.<

Upto 2008 there is no bitcoin many people survived with what they have, after 2012 many people came to know that bitcoin change their life who believes it. yes it is not a good decision to totally depend on bitcoin for life. i think bitcoin is not yet to much mature. although there is no doubt about this that bitcoin is giving a good profit to people, and is really solving the financial problems of the people, but still i think it is not yet the best time to depend on bitcoin for living. i think it will be a good decision to consider bitcoin as side business. and consider the income of bitcoin as secondary income.

I did some research on this one, and I discovered that half of this is not true. China has had reports of banning bitcoins, but none of them were ever true. In fact, China has the biggest bitcoin mining operations and the largest Bitcoin exchanges. However, countries like Thailand and Bangladesh are afraid of Bitcoin because it eventually will be used more than their traditional currency.

Bitcoin is becoming popular in every parts of the human life, but only few people will not control their feeling of world without a bitcoin. But my suggestion is don't addicted to any currency because today we are making with bitcoin. May be tomorrow we can make money with XMR, ZCASH who knows. Every time we have to move to with positive thought, because if one door close that indicates there is another door opening for us to make money.

Bitcoin about making our world a better place. Face it, fiat money is root of every economic crisis, because it is debt spiral it  creates.

I don't think you quite understand what the ETF is.  If the ETF isn't approved, it doesn't mean that Bitcoin will be banned or that no one will use it, although if it is approved it might result in an increase in value which could improve Bitcoin's adoption as a currency in America.

Bitcoin is not illegal in china so far mostly private organizations can trade through bitcoins. But yes it is prohibited for the financial organizations like banks to hold the cryptocurrencies. Although legal or illegal matters of bitcoins or other digital currencies vary from country to country and their values and rules.

Last times, we have seen a lot of traffic on the blockchain network, not so far ago, some group has spammed whole blockchain with transactions, there was over 60k unconfirmed ones ( thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1869847.0 ) so we are not able to send our money so quick.
The transactions are not getting confirmed fast ( 3 confirmations are usually around 1  hour or more ) , the fees are not cheap, so we are still far away from the "future".

Nothing. In the first place, bitcoin was made with all of its characteristic so that it will not be touched by the government. So why encourage or force them to accept bitcoin? They (the government) have their own perspective about bitcoin and they will say if bitcoin is beneficial to their country or not. The government should address this by enacting laws that addresses digital currencies to keep up with modern times. I know it has been hard for governments to address emerging technologies especially so when these developments are short-lived. Thus, the government needs adequate research to know which developments are worth investing its time, money and effort with. Without which, the government would keep losing on its mandate to protect and safeguard its people from actual threats.

Actually for me you're way off, the reasons why bitcoin is being banned in other countries is because of tax evasion, they are scared of rich people buying bitcoins and paying things with it, because of that taxes won't apply. Indeed for now bitcoin legality is always in question for countries that do not accept bitcoin, but in fact there are some developed countries that have declared legality of bitcoin as a digital currency that has same function as real currency.

I don't think so that Bitcoin is banned in any country. Now, a large number of people, as well as counties, use Bitcoin in the payment process. without Bitcoin, in any case, we have to follow that typical and expensive method of payment.

True, countries which have banned such cypto currency does not want any alternate currency as opposed to their main stream currency because this could be threat to their national currency. Another factor which is important is that such currency cannot be controlled and government will not like to promote such things which is out of their hand.

Pertaining to those who are undergraduate that are unqualified for jobs, those elderly who still needs income, mothers who needs to stay with children, students like myself which are all in need of income for survival. Nearly 3-4 countries have declared Bitcoin Illegal that include Bolivia, Ecuador, Kyrgyzstan, and Bangladesh. I think the only hope we got is from USA. It is the most influential country in the world and if they started a huge move that will affect bitcoin negatively then it is all over. They should promote bitcoin more and more and make the best approach so that neighbor countries will think of bitcoin as a helping tool towards economic growth.

Well this has always been the issue of Bitcoin ever since. It is hard to track down Bitcoin transactions which makes it alarming for the government as it can be a mean of money laundering and transaction for illegal drugs.

Many people, countries and companies alike are beginning to see how it can help them personally or their businesses. It could be a negative move to shrug off something that can evidently do you alot of good. And, if and ever, in the scenario that it would totally be banned, then it would be negative because we would revert back to the usual currencies and transaction means we had before.

There are many alternatives, fiat, credit card, etc. Still the BTC user market is fairly small compared to other financial instruments. But it is impossible for BTC to disappear or go away. As a normal citizen we can't do something if government really wants to ban bitcoin, but luckily in my country we can use freely any crypto currencies without any restriction and tax, but i believe soon there will be one because people are earning so much from these.

In the rapid growth and demand of people who's using bitcoin as their sub/alternate way to earn money people will find a way to earn and use bitcoin even if its is banned or being warned using bitcoin in their own country . In Bangladesh its Central bank launch an anti-money laundering where bitcoin is one too it prohibits users of bitcoin on trading and its usage because they see it as non central and cant be controlled by anyone or any government.

In some countries, bitcoin is only prohibited as a means of payment within the country, but there is no prohibition to be an asset, as in Indonesia. Or in China, which is prohibited only ICO.

For me personally.. I haven't too much to thinking like that, not really considering it must be really legal in the country where I live, as long as I still can sell it to local currency.. it's not a big problem for me, and not too thinking how it must be legal, how it can actually can be accepted by the government as a legalized currency to buying anything.

I can see two possibilities of how the government can lift the ban on Bitcoin. One is that country's government will change their personal views about Bitcoin through other country's use of it. If they see that other countries are benefiting from the implementation of Bitcoin lifting the ban will be possible. Another way is of course a legal intervention if their citizens file a case in the court that what they are doing is unconstitutional then they have a fighting chance of using Bitcoin legally again.

One of the greatest crypto that makes man's life convenient is bitcoin, so to imagine the world with no crypto is imaging a thing that needs to renovate which is what crypto currency is now doing, helping the world to free from unsatisfying service of the traditional system.

I cannot see now my life not having any bitcoin too, actually I love what my life today because of this, I still love and wanting to have a fiat saving but I also love the part of my life where in there is bitcoin, where everyone has the chance to change their life.

To be  honest, its okay for me. If bitcoin doesn't exist people will find job and work very hard for them to earn money and gain experience.

I think indeed for now bitcoin legality is always in question for countries that do not accept bitcoin, but in fact there are some developed countries that have declared legality of bitcoin as a digital currency that has same function as real currency.

For me it's the same as a world without iphones, facebook, etc. In the end, it's like that world without the Internet. Many experts call the blockchain technology and bitcoin cryptocurrency based on it "the second invention of the Internet".

No one can do anything in the matter until the Govt himself understand the benefits of it.

I think that crypto holders should tell ordinary people and the government more about bitcoin. Maybe we should create some educational platforms to make people more comfortable with the idea of cryptocurrency. The main problem with acceptance of cryptocurrency is ignorance. People and the government should stop being scared of the new type of currency.

As a normal citizen we can't do something if government really wants to ban bitcoin, but luckily in my country we can use freely any crypto currencies without any restriction and tax, but i believe soon there will be one because people are earning so much from these.

You do not need to convince the government, they just need money. It might be better if the government imposes taxes on bitcoiner.

It is a bad news to others country like that it is so badly that bitcoin are not accepted. But there are so many alternative to use like using vpn and others stuffs to hide your identity in your country.

The world would be stick to traditional or manual system wherein all transaction are manual and use the paper money as medium of exchange in all means of transactions.

the Chinese government does not prohibit bitcoin, and I think the government bans bitcoin because the government is afraid of weakening the country's currency
