Title: TweetForum - Bitcoin Forum - Earn Bitcoins by Posting!
Post by: FlipPro on June 12, 2011, 11:51:51 AM
We now have a Bitcoin Paid to Post program at TweetForum. We would have came out with this alot sooner, but unfortunatley our forum was hacked by some unknown individual(s), and that knocked us off for atleast a good 4 days. We spent most of that time recovering the database, and filling up some security flaws that were internal in our forum platform (SMF). We are now in the process of building TweetForum 2.0 which will be a fully custom built platform, that will truely define the vision I had when I started TweetForum.
But for now here it is,
TWEET FORUM: BITCOIN PAID TO POST PROGRAM

We are currently paying 0.00000100 BTC for every post you make.

Here are the details for our Paid to Post Bitcoin program, which allows good posters to earn Bitcoins simply by posting on Tweet Forum!

1. All new members are automatically signed up for this program, however to obtain the rewards all participants of this program must abide by the rules and regulations put forth by the forum Administrators.

2. All participants of this program must do the following to get paid,

A. Keep new topics limited to 10 threads per day. If you are caught making more than 10 new threads per day, and/or duplicating older threads, you will be disqualified from the program.

B. Posts must be at least 3-5 sentences long (1 paragraph). This is to prevent spam and one liners!

C. Copy and pasted articles/videos should always include a 1 paragraph opinion

D. Must be in good forum standing. If you are known for trolling or simply causing problems, you will automatically be disqualified from the program and possibly even banned...

3. Payouts can be claimed as soon as a poster has earned 0.0.00000100 BTC, and must be claimed to me. I will review your account and make sure you have been posting to these standards and you will get paid immediately.

Follow these rules, and you will get paid! It’s that simple…
This is a beautiful opportunity to not only grow the Tweet Forum community, but also to expand the Bitcoin economy beyond the traditional stigmas that are associated with it. This is also a perfect opportunity to give new users the option to earn some real Bitcoins, and get to seriously know the Bitcoin platform without having to invest a dime. Another note about this program is that you can post ANYWHERE in Tweet Forum and still get paid. You are not limited to posting only in the Bitcoin section, and as you folks can see it shouldn’t be too hard to find something to talk about on Tweet Forum ;). I hope to see all of you taking this great opportunity seriously!

-FlipPro

Note: The rules & regulations of this program can change at any time. So can the exchange rate, so please stay tuned to this post, and if there are any needed changes to the program we will make those available for you.

If you went to tweetforum you wouldn't look like such a fool for calling it spam..

99% of all forums I have participated in would at least suspend if not insta-ban you for advertising ANOTHER forum.  This is regardless of the merits of your venture - you are attempting to siphon traffic away from this site, and don't expect people to be annoyed?   :o

TweetForum is not a regular forum sir...

Here is just a preview of whats ahead of tweetforum. Trust me I dont need bitcoin.org for exposure... I thought I was helping the community by integrating it in my site...

http://twitter.com/tweetsforum
http://twitter.com/flippro
http://twitter.com/tweetforummusic
http://twitter.com/tweetnewsforum
http://twitter.com/tweetforumufo
http://twitter.com/tweetforumvideo
http://twitter.com/tweetforumsport
http://twitter.com/tweetforument
http://twitter.com/TweetSaleMarket
http://twitter.com/swflclubs
http://twitter.com/therealdjroyale
http://twitter.com/fgcuevents
http://twitter.com/bitcoinforum

This is just a small part of my list and growing every day. Haven't even ventured to facebook/myspace yet which is on my next plans. My vision is to deliver content to everyone, specifically what they want, and how they want it. People can easily integrate with the forum with their social media accounts, and connect with people that only they deal with. +Tweetforum also integrates news feeds with each post, so every post is completely up to date with current invents. Calling tweet forum "just a forum" is an insult to my work and creativity. I am not scamming off bitcoins, I need a leader head so I can feed it MY TRAFFIC.

Agreed.  You led with a URL.

Also, the one thing you cannot provide users of your forum:  content and users

Hence the reason you had to spam here to create an avenue for people to find you and maybe talk over there instead of here.

Guess what that does?  It fractures the community.  I'm confident the owners/moderators of this forum are taking steps not only to control the trolls and off topic/useless posts.  But they are also looking to upgrade the infrastructure to provide many, if not all, of the same features you're offering, and of course, they can also provide:  content and users
Thats true, bitcoins may not need me to be successful. It really may not need anyone. But dude seriously have you gone to the site? I didn't think leading with a url would turn people off so much.. I need you to see how much I charge for a header spot http://tweetforum.com/adpro/?sa=buyadspace , and then get back to me. I seriously thought I was helping out.

Consumers do. That is the biggest problem with this community. You guys are so reluctant to make anything user friendly. People, who make sites user friendly are the ones who end up with all the money. Look at flippa, facebook, twitter, linkedin, and paypal. All sites that really made a big deal about user friendliness, and ease, and now they are on top.

EDIT: I am mainly talking about the wallet system in this post. Everything else about the bitcoins seems simple enough.

1. Instant BAN on all known scammers/spammers/beggers/ and trolls.
2. Instant BAN on anyone trying to sell illegal weapons, drugs, or child pornography, this includes the advertising of such anonymous marketplaces that make these transactions even possible.
3. A fully moderated forum, guaranteeing a fair & honest discussion.
4. A highly advanced web 2.0 structure, that allows you to connect with all the social media avenues on every single post, including your twitter, facebook, and myspace. (tweetforum.. get it yet? :) )
5. Posting guidelines that will ensure that every new post that is made, is a quality one.
6. Minimal advertisements.

I LOLd.  #3 through #6 are silly.  Good luck man.

My forum IS THAT. You don't understand tweet forum, and you will look like a fool at the end of this. Your the one that should delete your posts.... You hater.

I'm sure you meant, "you're".  That's short for "you are".  "Your" is possessive of me.  So, you're the one that should delete your posts.

I'm not a hater, I just don't like spammers.  And people that advertise their "Tweetforum" that has advertising on the front page.  I'm sure you're sharing that advertising revenue (should there ever be any) with the community, right?  No?  Heavens.  Could that be why you started it?

I'll just stay here, where there aren't any ads, except from the Trolls.
Well I actually do have a revenue sharing plan for the tweetforum community, I am working on a auto revenue share system this month. But even if I didn't pay, I am offering a service to everyone on twitter. Alot of these people who sign up with me get their updates on their phones, most of them don't even know TF is an actual forum, cause they are ussually going straight to the threads. I can't tell you the time it has taken me to get everything to work the way it has, and to get this many followers to just give me a shot, and listen to what I have to say....

Thx for the correction btw, I knew that but I didn't think I needed 12th grade grammer on a quick web forum replys.

It doesn't matter what else you do. If somebody is on trial for a crime, he cannot defend with: "But I always gave my mother a birthday present." Off topic.

I've never heard the term 'web 2.0' uttered by *anybody* who didn't work in marketing.  It's meaningless.

For something to succeed it has to either do something new that people want (like bitcoin) or do something better than the existing methods (like twitter).  User friendliness doesn't have a lot to do with it, really.. people will cope with a lot of crap when the alternative is worse.  That *will* come to bitcoin, btw.  Someone will write a friendly client.. there's no company here to direct it and absolutely no contradiction with this forum concentrating on the technical details whilst someone currently unknown goes off and makes the killer UI.

2. It's not bitcoins fault that it got media attention long before it could reach a release-worthy stage of development.

Then thanks for contributing to my "spam". Haters don't realize that the more they hate the better it is for the person being hated on. You’re an intelligent person, and you know it's not spam, and that tweetforum is actually a really smart idea/ with a kick ass design, and it WILL help awareness of bitcoins... But you don't want to lose and admit you prejudged me and my site, and so you turn a reluctant blind eye. Here’s something I came up with, that may be helpful to you.
It's the three stages of bigotry
1:Attack your victim.
2:Get shut down by your victim
3:Go into remission and dispute all truth.
STOP AT STEP 1..

I just said that advertising a forum here is spam. And I said it because I have read several similar threads now here. And with that I don't want to say that your forum is as bad as any other forum.

You really have no idea what your talking about. You are arguing with an industry expert here bud.

"The term Web 2.0 is associated with web applications that facilitate participatory information sharing, interoperability, user-centered design,[1] and collaboration on the World Wide Web. A Web 2.0 site allows users to interact and collaborate with each other in a social media dialogue as creators (prosumers) of user-generated content in a virtual community, in contrast to websites where users (consumers) are limited to the passive viewing of content that was created for them. Examples of Web 2.0 include social networking sites, blogs, wikis, video sharing sites, hosted services, web applications, mashups and folksonomies."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_2.0

When I use the word web2.0, I mean EXACTLY what it means on wiki.. Forums by nature are not web2.0, unless you do many mods, and even then, they stink, because they are not properly connected, designed, and/or tested.

Which is sooo 1998... AOL Homepages? Geocities? yea those were all web 2.0, how about you advertise some early web 3.0 stuff? but I highly doubt you could compare with zombo.com, the first true web 3.0 offering.

also, forums by their very nature are PURELY web 2.0 if you are an 'industry expert' the industry you work for needs their money back.

Not when their boxed into a tight community of people. Sure in essence it's web 2.0, but its still confined to its own system. What I did is I plugged everything in. Now there is still alot of work to do, but I think I have something really unique, that of course all of you are going to hate on me for, for simply not thinking about it yourselves ;p lol. It's the facebook effect: hate on everything you could have done but didn't think of yourself!

Look at my number 1 competitor btw lol... this would have been spam http://tweetsocial.com - #1 - in google.

Sometimes ideas and hard work, are worth more than experience and calculated decisions.

I do web design,internet-marketing, seo, pc repairs, and coding. I am preatty much a do it all kind of person. But still learning, and forever will be. I am not claiming superiority to anyone, I just work 24/7 and know where I am going in life. Bitcoins are obviously going to be a major part of my future, and everything that I am planning in the future as far as businesses go, will involve them as a funding source..

Have you been to my forum yet? I dont think you have.... I have programmed different feeds, including new music/videos/movies and content from all over the internet. Everything is categorized neatly, and guaranteed to be up to date, and all replys, and posts are tweeted to thousands of users subscribing to me now, over several hundred accounts. Most of the people in my forum don't POST. They simply come in to read the content, that you seem to think I dont have sir.

EDIT: You might wana check this post, and see what led me to post my site before you continue. I went to the 131 bit coin post for new businesses , to see if they were still offering that program to new businesses. Aparently their not, but I got into a very interesting discussion with bitcoinminer, and what he told me was true. Why keep your business a secret if it can help bitcoins in the long run?   http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=4667.msg202154#msg202154

Now while hes right about that, you folks can't simply expect me to just pound bitcoins without pushing anything to my site for all my time and work? Thats preatty damn selfish if you ask me. You wan't me to make a post saying I am supporting bitcoins on my site, yet you don't want me to post the link to the site? Does the word forum simply turn you guys off that much?

This strikes me as being at odds with the goal of having a higher quality of posts.

By the way, no one here hates you because you have some magic brilliance that let you think of it first.  We aren't jealous.  We just find you very annoying.  Also, I sorta suspect that a decent minority of us don't give a f*ck about facebook, myspace or twitter.

Then alot of people in here are dinosaurs if they dont give a "f*ck" about a new social medium that is changing the world as we know it. Tunisia, Egypt, and now Libya have all been possible because of the social media technology that you so gleefully mock. It may seem like a joke to you, but it is changing lives right now as we speak. TweetForum is only getting better, bitcoins are only getting better, and so is all the social media carrying these things. I first heard about bitcoin through "f*cking" twitter, as I am sure many people here did. Kinda funny that you mock something that is now assisting you to make money. Twitter= Exposure , Exposure of Bitcoin= Money in your pocket. Ironically enough it's all sad but true that I work for you..

"Not when they're boxed into a tight community of people."

It's not hard, just re-read your post before hitting "Post" and see if you can replace "they are" with "their", then do it, please.  If you really are in marketing, you should at least be versed in the English language.

I wish you would go back and look at who started it. People should not attack things they know nothing about. I am generally a very, very nice person, but when I see people attacking my year’s worth of work, I'm sorry it hurts bro, especially when I am doing it in good faith for the community(and of course I hope to make some to, I’m not here to lie about profit motives, that’s what we’re ALL HERE FOR). I admit it may have looked REALLY bad at first, that’s probably why everyone had, a natural reaction to call it spam. I apologize for setting off the storm, but I just think it was important for everyone to know what exactly I was offering to the community. I take my role here very seriously and would never want to be classified as a spammer/scammer. I work to damn hard every day with little or no help, just to have to hear from random people that my shit is worthless. I know that 99 percent of people out there put up crap forums in 5 minutes and call it a site. People who have no PC knowledge what so ever, but I promise you sir, that this is not the case with tweetforum. Once again I apologize if you think I am a “tool” because of the way I reacted, but me being a tool couldn’t be father from the truth, because I try to be as benevolent as possible in RL.

Thank you for your wishes bro.

I honestly don't have many members that have actually signed up for the BTC forums, but honestly if anyone was naive enough to put their financial passwords in a forum please change them IMMEDIATELY. This is telling to say the least..

It makes me really sad to see my baby shattered in a matter of hours.  :'(
Especially when my partners have written tons of articles just for noobs to get acquainted with Twitter and Web 2.0 technology. There is a ton of great ORIGINAL content at TweetForum, and I will make a post in the future dedicated to showing you guys those great articles.

I know you guys make fun of me, and think I'm some kind of clown because of who I am, or because of my vocabulary? But you folks have to understand that in order for us to spread information, we need to simplify these mediums as MUCH as possible. Roughly 70% of my friend's don't know what Twitter is, and while most may have heard the name on the news, they still simply don't get it. Now a concept such as TweetForum, (A forum that Tweet's to individuals who sign up for updates in an account, and updates the users on every single reply) , now that's something that they can REALLY understand lol. Seriously my friends stare in awe, you guys laugh.

It really breaks my heart that I come to a so called "geeks circle", and I get chastised about my dreams that I have worked so hard to build, the same way I do in real life from people who don't get any of it. I thought you guys would instantly get it, but let me explain it again one more time. I'm sorry if I have ever came off as a tool to anyone here. I was just being ultra-defensive of my work, and looking back now I should have taken it a bit easier, and done things differently, but I am human and we all make mistakes, it doesn't excuse this hacking though, and the people responsible will hopefully be punished, in this life or the next, by god himself. We are all connected, and this was just some seriously bad karma that was unleashed to the community. This goes back to my original thread of BitcoinMiner telling me to display my site for the community.

THIS IS WHY I WAS AFRAID OF POSTING IT UP. BITCOIN DOES NOT NEED TWEETFORUM, BUT TWEETFORUM SURE DOSEN'T NEED BITCOIN TO BE SUCCESSFUL EITHER. WHAT WE OFFER IS A SERVICE FOR PEOPLE TO GET THE BEST OF 2 PLATFORMS THEY LOVE.

I think developers as a whole have really complicated ideas that usually yield little revenue. I feel that to make money on the Internet one must conserve time wisely, and maximize profitability, while offering a standard service that anyone can use.

Let me tell you a little bit about TweetForum because I think there is some confusion on what I have created.

TweetForum is a multi-purpose general forum running on the SMF platform, which just so happens to be the same platform this forum uses. Simple-Machines has been tested to be a bullet proof forum, but I can't say the same about my mods, or any mods of people that I have hired in the past. That is why TweetForum will get a full security inspection so that this never happens again. I am very serious about security, and transparency, if I find out who's behind this, I will report you to the police. What you did was a crime and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Now what is TweetForum? (I will use some marketing terminology so if your allergic please don't read

TweetForum will be a highly socialized commercial forum that will connect every post, reply, and account of choosing to Twitter. TweetForum is also programmed to communicate with every single Social 2.0 media network in the market. If you don't know what Web 2.0 is, that's ok, you can read the exact words of millions here,

"A Web 2.0 site allows users to interact and collaborate with each other in a social media dialogue as creators (prosumers) of user-generated content in a virtual community, in contrast to websites where users (consumers) are limited to the passive viewing of content that was created for them
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_2.0"

What I did with tweetforum was match different twitter accounts to content specific boards, programmed rss bots to parse syndicated content on these boards, and built an auto hash/tag system to generate tags on bot postings. The bot is programmed to scan the entire internet for content-specific texts/videos/and ebooks. We are going even further in TweetForuum with future development on linking hashtags and @'s to their respective pages, and having social pages for each forum account, so you get a Facebook, and linkedin effecy. This forum will be THE FORUM for everyone. There is already some epic forums online (Gaia, IGN, and a few others), I really don't see why mine isn't next on the list. This has taken me a ton of research, and the site is fully SEO'ED and we have actually only been around for 2 weeks.

Diversity is never a bad thing especially when it comes to bitcoins, we NEED diversity to survive as a community. I love all of you and I am truly sorry if I came off as arrogant or brisk on my original threads. I now realize that I may have not taken the appropriate time to explain TweetForum, and maybe if I would have taken that time some of you guys would have appreciated the amount of work and time I put into it more. I am working to restore TweetForum, and it will roll back to about 3 days, and then I am hiring a fellow forum member (the system admin from bitcams) to do a multi-site inspection. I suspect that my FTP password may have been to easy, and the hackers got in through my FTP.

Vegetta, you were way to aggressive in your handling of this.
In your 3rd post you were name calling, people see that and know they can fuck with you very easily from now on.

The authoritative nature of your first post with the big bolds was enough to really get under people's skins,
it certainly got under mine quick. I'll explain that in more detail if you want, but I'm not sure you are aware of what exactly you did here.

I can only recommend to you in this moment forward is learn how to gauge your demographic, and don't tell people too much through your actions and don't let people control your reactions.

Your right I do need to step my game up in this forum. I am up for the task of getting better at everything I do lighter. I am committed to that. I was aggressive, but this has taken so much energy out of my life, that when someone calls it a spam forum, I go nuts. That's not the right approach though. But again do you think it's fair that someone has the nerve to hack my stuff because of a few forum postings? This thread was actually buried , and the only reason I resurrected it was because of recent events. I figured everyone would learn about tweetforum eventually. With growth comes better platforms, and more user-ability, did you guys ever think that any of you could have been my partner, and could have easily helped me make tweetforum even better, and gotten paid off in dividends. This community simply needs to GROW UP, me included in all that.

EDIT: WE'RE WASTING TIME FIGHTING INSTEAD OF MAKING MONEY. ENOUGH SAID.

Did you not have backups?  Is everything gone?

I think you just came off a bit strong thats all.  I run some sites myself and I know the work it takes; sometime thankless.  Maybe you took it too personally.  Just relax.

How are you recovering from this right now?  Got your data dumps?

Is the site hosted on a VPS/server ?

I have everything backed up to a flash drive. It's a vps. I won't divulge any more personal information since the hacker is probably reading this thread right now as we speak.

EDIT: I can tell you that the attack was basically a script programming the creation of .core files by the thousands. I have no IDEA how that script got in my server, which is why I think It was a brute force attack on the ftp account, or a leak of information. I knew I was vulnerable so I always kept a backup of all my work in an encrypted flash drive. The core files were basically huge blocks of random chars, generated to slow down/ and eventually max out the forum, till you see what your seeing now.

You sure about that?.. more likely straight through your site.

Good luck on recovering.  Are you bringing it all back up? Redoing the VPS? checking your webserver logs?

We will bring it back to the 24th but the bots we got running will be set to the 27th. Everything will be back to normal, however we are working on entirely new plugins so that they are optimized for loading times and security oriented.

Attachment disabling isn't anything at all.  There are many other ways to get in.  I assume you're using the latest version of SMF?  Are you using any panel? What OS? linux?  What security software are you running on the server level?  There's alot of diff things you can do.

I might be able to give you a hand or 2 of you need.  Just send me a PM.   Also of course you need some backup plans if you don't have already.

edit: bring it back on the 24th? Next month??

People please stop replying to this thread.  Can't you see it's just spam, I doubt he's even being hacked.  Look at the thread title.  First half is a sensational claim all in capital letters, the second half is basically an advertisement.

Ask yourself if you owned an allegedly successful site that was being hacked right this moment, would you try to lock down the server or would you make long posts about how good your forum is?

I think it was good move to let everyone know that his db had been compromised, since that's been happening quite frequently in the Bitcoin community. You can obviously tell his site is down, now. Why would he take his site down if it was still safe and functional?

You are all using the oldest fallacy in the book (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fallacies) call and Ad hominem were you attempt to link the truth of a claim to a negative characteristic or belief of the person advocating it.
Where is the opionions or facts people?
No links? seriously people get a life and make a great idea like this
we need more bitcoin money makers then mining rigs.

All I'm saying is at least back up your opinions people.....

This is relevant for this forum, although possibly more appropriate in the trading section. (Trading bitcoins for tweets)

I think people need to stop treating new ideas with such hostility. There are enough douchebags being hostile towards bitcoin already without us adding to the perception.

As someone who has to wade through the crap that is google news to post relevent bitcoin stories each day on twitter I appreciate someone attempting to curate the flow for us. The more places that spread the news the better imo. When I started bitcoinmedia on twitter there was basically no one posting bitcoin news and the sources of it were limited.

My suggestion - ignore  the haters and concentrate on sending out a positive vibe to counteract the bad karma out there.

using this forum to bring people to a pay to post forum is by definition: spamming.
if it works out, good on ya.
if it doesn't, I don't want to hear about it.

Yeah, 'spamming/spammer' isn't a name if that is actually how the auto-posting software he has works.

Also, he's basically paying people to post, so he is asking people to spam.

If you went to tweetforum you wouldn't look like such a fool for calling it spam..

LOL - only had to read three posts before I crossed this site off my list.
Please make sure you are checking all the dates in this thread properly. They were made over a month ago. I am sorry but the guy is wrong for making that inflammatory post towards a site that isn’t even remotely close to a "spam". Maybe I should have made a new topic to introduce this program, but then again I have nothing to hide from this community. Hope you do stop by and try it out for yourself, you will see that I am not as bad as some people may think. And I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality of TF!

Thank You

2 Questions - what is "Web2.0 compatible" actually mean, and why should we buy ads since it looks like no one else has?

edit: I tried signing up and you lied - there is no way for me to customize the news/feeds I want. This is not web2.0 compatible

"A. Keep new topics limited to 10 threads per day. If you are caught making more than 10 new threads per day, and/or duplicating older threads, you will be disqualified from the program.

B. Posts must be at least 3-5 sentences long (1 paragraph). This is to prevent spam and one liners!

C. Copy and pasted articles/videos should always include a 1 paragraph opinion "

I had that before but the problem was they were interlacing too much of the same stories. In the future for TweetForum 2.0 we will have multiple different sources, and all will be perfectly blended to meet our standards. However if you look closely 99% of the articles in the Breaking News section, are Yahoo news articles, and Yahoo news articles automatically take content from all kinds of Publishers and News Organizations.

For now I can make some reddit sections that are close to what you like, and I will make them into tweetboards.

Oh, don't worry about it. I was looking for a summer project lately anyways and think I'm just gonna create my own knock-off version of your page, only for medium-traffic tech and gadget sites instead of UFO and Car sites, since I'm not really that into them. I have 2 spare VPSs and and extra dedicated that are running unused right now but are paid at least through next March, so I don't think the project will cost me anything but time + a cheap domain in case I decide to give it up this winter. I also have a spare vBulletin license and wrote half a twitter client before so this shouldn't be too hard.

If I'm short on content though, can I scrape some info off of your forums? Some of your feeds are pretty good, so if you don't mind I'll just write a Perl script to grab them off the SMF forums.

I've set up a placeholder for the site at http://lljk.info already, so people know the project is coming.

The more places that spread the news the better imo. When I started bitcoinmedia on twitter there was basically no one posting bitcoin news and the sources of it were limited.

My suggestion - ignore  the haters and concentrate on sending out a positive vibe to counteract the bad karma out there.

PAID TO POST = PAID TO SPAM.

That's dumb logic right there!

A journalist gets payed to post news... Is that spam? Wtf!

It's only people who contribute who gets payed, not the other way around.

This would be much more useful to me if you could integrate RSS into the forums/twitter. I need BBC and Yahoo News updates more than UFO stories.
You can pickup an rss feed from any twitter account, but I went ahead and added the feature for RSS boards for ya.

Enjoy

Ohh, I see it.

I meant I'd like to add more RSS feeds from off-site TO the site, like BBC and Yahoo News

So third party news feeds would be a better idea? If so there's a lot of feeds from web2.0 sites I've always wanted fed to my twitter, like:

http://rss.slashdot.org/Slashdot/slashdot
http://www.reddit.com/r/linux/.rss
http://www.reddit.com/r/apple/.rss
http://www.reddit.com/r/technology/.rss
http://www.reddit.com/r/netsec/.rss
http://www.reddit.com/r/hardware/.rss
http://www.reddit.com/r/gaybareback/.rss
http://www.reddit.com/r/ubuntu/.rss
http://www.reddit.com/r/bsd/.rss
http://www.reddit.com/r/commandline/.rss
http://www.reddit.com/r/linux4noobs/.rss
http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/.rss
http://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/.rss
We can setup user set rss feeds for each site but that won't come till tweetforum 2.0 . There are simply to many limitations on SMF, which is why we are moving towards our own custom built platform.

I think there Is a site that does exactly what you want already... go to http://twitterfeed.com

EDIT:
BTW thanks for being such a god damn nerd, and trolling on other forums about my project. Just shows how truly pathetic you really are...

My product is going to be a polished, Web2.0-compliant website that will use my best-in-class skills to leverage the synergies between the leading social networking sites, and push the envelope in the up-and-coming twitter/forum hybrid field.

The fact that I can think outside the box to deliver world-class solutions allows me to create superior products with my software expertise.

Yours is just SMF combined with a re-tweeting program off your $7 VPS. I already have dedicated servers and software licenses needed to outclass you with little work on my part, save for polish (where tweetforum really lacks).

I hearby challenge you, Vegetta, to an internet-off!

Judging by how much time you have spent on my posts you could have already made .25 BTC at Tweet Forum. Waste your time doing something productive, something to help this community, something to push us in a better direction than where we are at now, instead of wasting your time trolling other people’s posts across multiple different websites. Honestly bud, it just makes you look silly. Come up with something original that will help the Bitcoin community prosper, and even I’ll support it. But then again if you were a serious person you wouldn’t even be wasting your time here would you ?  ::)

If I copy/paste all my posts from this thread to Tweet Forum, will you give me the .25BTC?

Also I already have my original idea, it's an original improvement of your original idea.

And it will help the community. I plan on giving 10 free BTC to every new member (after 30 days of membership) for each person to sign up. How are you helping the community? I am putting money into the hands of the average person, I will practically be a hero.

And rich, because I'm an expert at selling advertising.

Ok, I know you are just trolling about ripping off the TweetForum idea but the 10 free BTC is actually a pretty good idea.  A lot of people like to lurk instead of post a lot so you would be offering them an incentive too.  They may not generate content, but they are eyeballs for the ads.

You could also create a program where you pay people to get other people to sign up, and the recruiters take a share of the payout for anyone the people they recruit recruits.

Oh, that.  Not a troll forum, just a small general discussion board.  No one takes it too seriously,  hence the tongue in cheek banners.

That site has nothing to do with#TweetForumTweets, however.  Please try to stay on topic and avoid the unnecessary personal attacks.

Vagetta, I'm interested in your forum, but I'm not totally sure I understand the concept enough to jump into wanting to be a paid contributor.  Maybe you can help me understand.

When I look at the forum, I see thousands of posts, but effectively no content whatsoever.  Every single thread is started with simply a news headline with no link to an article and no commentary on the news item whatsoever, and almost none of them have any responses at all.  Further, almost 100% of the posts are simply posted by TweetForum itself, not any contributing users.  Browsing through the forums, I have been unable to find a single post that looks anything like actual users using the forum.

In addition, there doesn't seem to be any discussion on your forum's main pages about what exactly the point of the whole thing is.  Is the idea that people read the forum as an aggregator of tweets, or do we subscribe to your twitter feeds to get a feed of what people are discussing on the forum?  Either way, I don't see a single piece of useful content up there today, despite hearing wild claims of thousands of active users.

So given all this, what exactly are you asking us to contribute?  Would you like more news headlines posted without discussion or context?  Would you like responses to the news headlines your bots are posting?  What topics are appropriate?  Just news items?

You keep crowing about this achievement as if it's just plainly obvious how great the site is, but to me it looks pretty useless.  Maybe you should take a step back and just explain what the concept is in precise terms, instead of waving your hands and talking in generalities about web 2.0 and social media.  Tell us what use your site is.

The purpose of the forum is to expand Twitter conversations beyond 140 characters. If you want to post something that's over 140 characters, and get it on Twitter, then Tweet Forum is the best way to do so. You don't have to know how to use Twitter either, just make a forum account and post! Everything you write will automatically be syndicated to anyone who follows the forum or the specific section where you posted in. The reason why there isn't alot of active users is because the forum is only 1 MONTH OLD , yet we already have 2600+ members, and thousands of Twitter followers. I get 500-1000 unique visitors per day, but it's much harder to get people to post than some may think. I programmed the bot to scrape the most relevant news for each section, so that Tweet Forum could spark conversation, and keep all the followers updated on news relevant to each topic they like to talk about...

Our Twitter cloud seems to disagree with your assertion that our content is somehow "useless"…

http://twitter.com/flippro - My personal twitter account.
http://twitter.com/tweetsforum - TweetForum's main account-Syndicates all posts
http://twitter.com/tweetforummusic - Tweets new music

It's very simple, if you have a Twitter account, follow the boards that you like, and if you don't have one, just make a forum account and start posting. No Twitter account is needed to join or get paid in BTC's.

I too am creating a robot that will find content on the web for me and post it to MY future site, and as soon as I can make his fingers accurate enough to hit the keyboard keys and can program him to read off the monitor in the corner of my office, I will have PLENTY of content streaming into my site.

Plus I know some guys who have made really good robots before, and I may in fact see if Atlas can help me since he has built robots too.

I can see how that could be an issue for any sort of site.   Have you tried asking for advice from other web professionals on the best ways to get people to commit to your sites?  I think your pay per post idea may work but that isn't how it's usually done, there might be a more tried and tested method.

It's working already, one member already got paid for his 5 posts! Hopefully he posts up the payment proof from block explorer soon..
This is not the only thing that I am doing to promote my forum. There is about 100 things I plan on doing in the future to promote TF. One thing that is important to note is that TweetForum is not a Bitcoin only forum, it has many unique attributes that make it valuable beyond this Bitcoin paid to post idea. I just thought it would be a good way to revitalize the Bitcoin economy, by taking money out of my own pocket, and introduce new people to the world of Bitcoin.

Here is some articles that we have for monetizing Twitter. Enjoy !

You should rent a billboard with a picture of alien saying "I come in tweets" and then the address for your site.

So do people from somethingawful.com come out and just troll random sites that they seem to think are funny? Lol you guys are all getting banned, I hope you know that.

http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3413928&userid=0&perpage=40&pagenumber=333#post393631440

Every single one of you (I know the people involved) has been reported to the moderators, with the link to your joke thread about Bitcoins on your joke site. There is a reason why some people are successful in life, and some people still live in their parents basements dreading ever being born into existence. Seriously take a look in the mirror (whoever is involved) and ask yourself what you have done today to progress your life? It wasn't trolling my thread for a whole day, and Somethingawful isn't making any of you clowns real money either. No matter how much you guys think you're getting under my skin you're not. If anything you are helping us by giving us all of your time and attention, thus keeping this thread at the very top of the forum, and giving TweetForum even more hits... Use your brains gentlemen.

I will pray for you all.

Have you been successful so far? All I see is a website that is 2 other websites that are haphazardly thrown together, with prices for ad space (but no ads on the site, so no one is buying them), and this coming from a guy who is posting content about monetizing Twitter.

If YOU can't monetize Twitter, why should anyone follow your Twitter-monetizing content?

Your idea is not novel, it is not unique. You are not a special, intelligent, successful little butterfly.

e: I know how much money you have to make versus server costs, so unless you have a 'real job' that is significant, nothing you have done indicates you are successful in any way.

Vegetta,

I have never been to somethingawful.com - no idea what it is, nor do I care.  The only reason I post this is because every time I click on the "Show new replies to your posts." link this thread comes up.

You have more than convinced me that anything you run is worth steering clear of, and I have been online probably longer than you have been alive.

Go ahead and "pray" for me - I will feel sorry for your gullibility if you think talking to yourself will affect my life in ANY way.

You guys have gotten way out of line. This is not a kiddy forum where trolls are welcome to spam the site. There are many professional people here who take Bitcoin and these forums very seriously. You guys are doing a disservice to this establishment and yourselves by being so obnoxiously self-centric. Why is it so “funny” that you guys get enjoyment off demoralizing other people’s hard work? That actually sounds a little sick to me... No one cares about your “jokes”; people come here to talk money and Bitcoins, not to spread "jokes". When I want jokes I go watch George Carlin or Bill Maher, not children from some random site that seems to be charging them just for being members. You guys come troll me when I am offering to help the community and take money out of my own pocket, even though you guys are paying to be part of a troll site? You all should be ashamed of yourselves. Anyone who comes here to cause obvious disruptions deserves to be banished, and never allowed back.

Vegetta, no matter how you slice it, there's no way you can say your forum is currently successful. I ran the math: 82% of the posts on your forum were made by you. I'm not sure how you can be so high and mighty about this project, nor do I understand why you think the people rightfully criticizing you are trolling. It just makes your pompous, misogynistic attitude toward Jesse Kang all the more hilarious.

We provided criticisms, you ignored them, because you, as someone who knows who to install software, are too intelligent to take criticism. That's when people started turning on you.

You couldn't even listen to Jessy Kang's industry advice and instead decided to be a misogynistic asshole. Learn to accept criticism. Learn to learn from your mistakes and bad ideas instead of doubling down on them.

edit: This is becoming a kiddy forum because dumb kids like you are making it that way, and you can't call people "self-centric" (self-centered is the correct tense) when you shut out all information and only listen to the voices in your head.

I don't know man you seem pretty self-centrified yourself and wound waaaay too tight. You gotta just chill sometimes, see some perspective and shit, because see when you start a business and try to make some money from people, you need to know what they like, right? I mean paying people Bitcoins to discuss UFOs sounds great for the Dale Gribble demographic, but beyond that...

Congrats on taking good, real-world advice like "listen to people that know what they are doing" and "don't hate women" and completely neglecting it.

edit:

Here is some SERIOUS ADVICE, since I hate the fact that self-destructive people like you exist:

If you want to be successful, let go of your pride and listen to successful people, and it will increase your chances of being successful.

If you want to get regularly laid and have women like you, don't be an asshole to them and treat them like people.

Also, possibly save some money and talk to a psychiatrist, there's no shame in it and it could vastly improve your life.

It goes like this:

She gives honest advice, you assume she wants something from you and post:
Quote from: Vegetta
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO OFFER TO THE TEAM? other than your pathetic opinions. If you have NOTHING to offer to the team, please stay the hell away from my thread. This was not posted here to be "debated" on whether or not the idea will work, by trolls like you.

also quotes like these

Quote from: Vegetta
It's part of the BDSM mentality I guess lol. Maybe shes a tea-bagger  Grin.

Quote from: Vegetta
EDIT: HOPEFULLY the people we hire won't be remotely close to your level of class. You need to learn how to speak to people, and stop over generalizing. Your completely arrogant and need to be taught a valuable lesson in life. Not everything is your way, I know your use to beating on pathetic Neanderthals who get pleasure from your fake "dungeon", but I am not one of them. K?

Quote from: Vegetta
It surprises me that so many people are going to the aide of an obvious troll, is it because shes a pretty girl?

Quote from:  Vegetta
whether shes smart or not, paid whore or smart business women

You clearly disregarded her advice because she was a women and you refuse to listen to anyone else there or here as well.

Not everyone "wants something" from you, like to be hired or to get money. Some people are just helpful. That's right, helpful for free.

Free advice costs you nothing but your time, listen to it and stop being such an angry dolt and turning people against you.

You don't seem very chilled. I think that emoticon is a lie.

But the thing I'm getting at is that even if there are other topics, it's like you got SPORTS, WEATHER, UFO NEWS, ENTERTAINMENT, POLITICS, and with all of your awesome business savvy, you seem to not understand that something like that will send 95% of the viewing public running away from your site trying to hold back fits of laughter. It makes you seem out-of-touch sitting up there on your little UFO ivory tower and not seeing what's going down in the streets.

After having seen a fair amount of incivility on IRC and on the project forums, I feel that it would be appropriate for us to define as a community standards for behavior in order to make the community a more welcoming place for all people regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, disability, etc. Many other prominent open source projects such as Ubuntu, Fedora, Apache, OLPC have codes of conduct.

This is important in order to ensure that Bitcoin becomes mainstream and is used by a wide range of users and is accepting of contributions from developers that might otherwise feel harassed, threatened, or marginalized.

So this is all about her isn't it ? Glad to know shes in this thread as well.

I was so "misogynistic" that I offered her a spot on the team, even though she had no technical background what so ever

Offering her a job does not make you less misogynistic. Also she has real industry background, where you have neither background in industry or real technical background besides knowing how to set up forums and basic scripts. You shut out people smarter than you and then continue to make bad decisions.
Done replying to you, reported.

Counter-reported, for misogyny and for driving out good poster like Jessy Kang and making these forums worse.

Congrats on taking good, real-world advice like "listen to people that know what they are doing" and "don't hate women" and completely neglecting it.
Hate women? Are you out of your mind sir? When have I ever said I hated women? I didn't drive her out of anywhere, she can come back whenever she wants... Just not to my posts, this forum is pretty big, it's not that hard to avoid me...

It goes like this:

She gives honest advice, you assume she wants something from you and post:

Did you also post the third post of the thread with her destroying the entire project? And then at-least 20 other posts after that? I think she was way tougher on me than I ever was on her, anyone can go see the thread and see the truth. She was treating me like I was one of her clients and I was supposed to get on my knees and hand the entire project/domain name/ and idea to her, just because she was more qualified than me in the adult industry. I offered her a stake early in the post, and things just got progressively worse after that. I apologize if I offended anyone by calling her out on her fetish. I am sorry if any men in here got offended because I called them out on their fetish. I have absolutely no problems with alternative lifestyles, and I was simply frustrated when I said some of those mean things. I am sorry if she feels that I was "misogynistic" , that seriously wasn't the case, and it's not who I am. I believe women can do amazing things, and are actually intellectually superior to men, with every study proving it.

Destroy the project or destroy your implementation? Your original plan was clearly flawed, so she pointed out where, from experience, she knew you were wrong and where the improvements could come from, and what wasn't practical.

So where is development now? how much progress has been done, how well integrated are the payment processors, how many "performers" have been recruited and verified by age, and how much REAL planning has been done for the project? Probably either not much or none at all, because she was right; however, like in all cases, you believe you are some kind of super-intelligent person that knows better than everyone.

Stop doing this to yourself and listen to people.

So you believe women were less intelligent than men until around 1978 or so, at which time they surpassed us, and they continue to grow in intellectual superiority?   Does that mean a few hundred years ago, when women were not allowed in universities, they had no intelligence at all?  How did this miraculous evolution take place so quickly?

Then by all means you should act on that.  On your forum, have each user declare their gender, and give females a higher reward for posting.  Maybe us male drones could contribute some of our earnings to their pool as a "thank you" for putting up with our stupidity.

We are honestly trying to change things at Tweet Forum. It will be a serious discussion with serious people trying to find themselves through knowledge and self-empowerment. I want it to be a community where everyone is respected, and can grow including me. I have many plans for Tweet Forum 2.0 which will be a fully loaded custom built social news engine that will blend social media and news perfectly together like good wine and cheese. The bigger the site gets, the larger the payouts will be. I am not here to scam anyone, I am not here to cause trouble, and I just want a better future for everyone.

Bitcoin is a great way to make money for anyone; I see the way some people talk about Bitcoins on all these different forums. I can assure you that I don't care, because I am making lots of money with Bitcoin, and the dollar bills in my pocket aren't as "ridiculous" as some of you may think. I assure you that if we put our trust on each other, we can change business as usual. Jessy came after me because my site didn’t match her professional opinion, and I respect her for that, however I was going to give the girls more freedom, and even less over head than they had now. We were only going to require simple age verification, but other than that any male/female was welcome to join the site.

I wanted people to make money from the comfort of their own homes, and earn more than some doctors do, and yeah that’s completely none traditional, and maybe goes against any adult marketer’s perfect vision of an adult cam site. However, I am a dreamer and sometimes I do need to be grounded, but please see that the things that provoked me were things that went against the entire purpose of a wide spread open source currency. Technically these people are already in several different cam sites like Camfrog and Yahoo Cams where women & men perform erotic acts for money and/or "virtual gifts".

Bitcoins alone could fuel an underground video cam market, but honestly it just hasn't caught on with the general public yet. I am going to make it easier for men/women to obtain Bitcoins, and use them through a huge verified cam network, that was built strictly for their own pleasures. No reasonable fetish will be excluded, and everyone will be welcome as long as they follow basic legal guidelines. These will all take time, however I am not a quitter, and neither are my team mates who have been so patient with me and who have had my back every step of the way.

I hope to see some of you guys at Tweet Forum, this is seriously my last post about anything that has to do with Bitcams. If you guys want to talk Bitcams please wait for me to open up the new thread once we have some serious content to show you guys. That will be where you guys can give your input on Bitcams, but please not here this is about TweetForum and nothing else. So to leave this all off Bitcoin isn’t going anywhere, Somethingawful isn’t going anywhere, and neither is Tweet Forum. I think we can all agree we don’t like at least one thing in this equation.  ;D

None of this really gives us any clue about what type of stuff you'd like to see posted.  I mean, the place is dead, so we can't even see what kind of community interaction you're even trying to encourage.

Quote
The reason why there isn't alot of active users is because the forum is only 1 MONTH OLD , yet we already have 2600+ members, and thousands of Twitter followers.

How many members do you have that have actually posted something?  Well, I can answer that, since it's shown in your member list:

18 users have posted 1 message
3 users have posted 2 messages
2 users have posted 4 messages
2 users have posted 10 messages (and one of them is clearly a spambot)

That's everything.  All of the rest of the posts in your forum are made by bots, moderators, or admins.

How can you possibly claim that the "2600+ members" statistic is meaningful in any way?  Even with an incredibly generous definition of "active" users, you appear to have exactly 3 active users.

Ok, look.  I will make no bones about the fact that I finally signed up here, after reading a LOT of threads, because I could no longer suppress the urge to respond to Vagetta's posts.  I haven't been rude or particularly snarky to him.  I have simply tried to inject a bit of level-headedness to what I (and many others) consider delusions of grandeur.  He's talking like he's already revolutionized twitter in ways that make no sense and are demonstrably over-inflated, and he now thinks he's set to claim a meager 10% of the online porn industry.

If civilly questioning this sort of craziness -- which has nothing to do with bitcoin, I might add -- means I am "bashing" or "trolling" then these forums are even more of an echo chamber than I thought.  If Vagetta's plans seem sound and without reproach to a significant number of posters here, then good luck to bitcoin -- you may as well ban me now.

If people want bitcoin to be taken seriously, you need to be willing to tell the idiots they're idiots, rather than giving them a big pat on the back for being idiots who like bitcoin.

I'll post this over on the other forum too, just in case the libertarian ideal of free speech somehow fails to prevail here.

I will have all my friend post this because this site is a piece of shit. Local Bitcoin to let u know u got something coming.

I always like to see new crypto services offered but your rates are way lower compared to some sig campaigns on BTT.
It s an open market, you need to find a way to be competitive.

New Updates pushed to the site: http://uptweet.com

Title: Re: TweetForum - Bitcoin Forum - Earn Bitcoins by Posting!
Post by: FlipPro on June 04, 2016, 08:01:19 AM
Due to the recent price increase we are lowering our global retweet rate to 0.00000100 BTC for every retweet a user gets on our platform.

We have also lowered the minimum withdrawal amount to 0.00000100 so that people can get paid their BTC faster without having their rewards locked up on the site.

On July 4th, 2016 we will begin pushing payouts automatically to users once their balance is approved, this way we are never holding user funds. Our goal is to shift to a model where we never hold BTC period (headless). This will require some time to develop and migrate our system over.

In the meantime all approved balances will be paid out in full on July 4th, so please be sure that your addresses are correct in your UpTweet wallets! Once these payouts are executed we will not be able to reverse the payment. Payouts will be programmed to be paid out as soon as your balance is approved.

Happy Tweeting,
Brian
