I'm sorry, I am not yet familiar with bitcoin cash. Does it really exist?
As far as I know, bitcoin is a digital currency, and so if it becomes cash it will not be more consider as digital currency. And I knew that bitcoin aims to have a cashless society, in which they wanted fiat to be gone, and all people will just be using bitcoin.
Well, if it really exist, I wanted to know more about it.

Bitcoin cash faster and cheaper than bitcoin. The market value of bitcoin cash now is over $30 bilion and it is continuously rising

you are just overly excited because it has the name "bitcoin" in it and also mostly because it is getting pumped. you see the big green number saying price has risen in the past few days and you think everything is fine because of it!

but if you wait a couple of weeks you can get your answer loud and clear. when the dumps begin shortly and then intensify in a couple of weeks, that is when price of BCH crashes and miners will abandon it. they have the EDA to protect the chain and if they remove it, the chain is screwed. the only reason why miners switch is this EDA that changes difficulty so they can mine a thousand blocks in one day!

Bitcoin Cash is a copy cat Alt coin with "Bitcoin" in their name. They forked from Bitcoin {BTC} and called it Bitcoin Cash.

They are riding on the code and the success of Bitcoin and it is now being used by the competitors who have split away from

BTC. They come together as a group... sold their BTC and bought Bitcoin Cash to push the price up... When other people start

buying Bitcoin Cash the price goes even higher and then they quickly sell their coins to take massive profits. This leave the

rest of the people who came in late, with the empty bag. {very low price}  ;)

It is clearly impossible. It would eventially turn up like what happened with Bitcoin gold which only on mainstream early upon getting into the market then fall after few months. No altcooin or any other crypto will replace Bitcoin because it has the biggest community. It has also the largest market value and lots of investors are into it so it won't be replaced.

OK Bitcoin Cash's market volume is much more bigger, cause trading stars set the volume and the price. They want you to lose money, they want to gain money from this crisis which they created in a single day! So don't panic and try to collect more cheap, easy Bitcoins before it hits to $10000 and more...

I think I've answer a similar post a while ago. In my opinion even if Bitcoin cash is quite making a name these days it will not replace Bitcoin, not even soon. Why? Because lots of people still believes on what Bitcoin can do when it comes to digital currency. All alt coins including Bitcoin Cash will still be called alt coin and will definitely stay that way even in the future. I am not concluding that Bitcoin will stay forever though because as we all know the only constant thing in this world is CHANGE. So everything could change in just a blink of an eye without us knowing.

There is zero logic to move to Bitcoin Cash its a pure pump and dump play. BTC is the store of value. If we want fast transactions Bitcoincash isn't even a good option when you got platforms like Xtrabytes doing 10000 tps. Its a fad , it will pass.

bitcoin is irreplaceable and just because bitcoin cash goes to the moon does not mean bitcoin will be replaced. I think it's a chance to see the bitcoin fall and buy it. bitcoin cash still needs a lot to not rival bitcoin.

If the developers of the Bitcoin did not unite to fix the scaling issue it will replace Bitcoin in 6 to 8 months. Right now more and more people are dumping their Bitcoin (BTC) to buy Bitcoin Cash (BCH). Market Cap now is 40Billion and rising. Bitcoin right now is so heavy to handle Blockchain fee reaching $10 to $15.

I dont think it can replace Bitcoin, This current spike is only a "bubble" and soon will fall. This current increase is cause by massive buying at one country making it popular at one part of the world. While Bitcoin is Globally.

I don't think it will but we will get the answer once the BCH fork is over the price will stabilize for Alt-coins/BTC once the fork is done on Nov 13th hopefully.

I won't be on Bitcoin cash side atleast for now as it is being pumped and manipulated by some whales though the fees may be cheaper and transaction time is smaller than that of Bitcoin but still it's controlled by some centralised organisation.
LTC, ETH, XMR are all better in technology than Bitcoin cash so there is no use of it except the name Bitcoin

I think thats not possible at all. Bitcoins is bitcoin and BCH is BCH, they can't replace each other look at the current development for both of them. You say anything, but BCH stands at the position where it is called as alt coin and it will never reach that much rate at all. Im focusing my investment into bitcoin only and believe me there are more believer of bitcoin than BCH which make bitcoin more susceptible for long term investment.

Either way, I'm hiding in Dash 'till this blows over.  ;D

It's crazy to buy into that pump, but you can't deny it's a possibility either.

It's also worth mentioning that BTC will always have a value no matter what happens as it's the go to reserve currency. I think a flippening could be very dangerous, if we can't trust Bitcoin we can't trust anything, the whole market could become valueless if this happens. The people behind these coup attempts are playing dangerous games.

Just because bitcoin cash has caught up the 30 billion market capitalism it doesn’t mean that it will cross the bitcoin at any point. This is just temporary pump by some group of pumpers and I believe the market will go down pretty soon. Don’t forget that bitcoin market cap is more than 100 billion which is not easy enough to catch up by bitcoin cash, not at this point. So I’m not giving the positive vote up to the bitcoin cash at all. It is just another hype created by people around the BCH lover group. You will definitely see bitcoin cash to the point where it started few days ago and thats for sure. Its ant hold market for this much long if it was artificial pumped.

For better understanding try to read more about it in the bitcoin discussion section. You will have more clearer facts over there.

The best challenge for Bitcoin is to stay at the top as the most high valued cryptocurrency in the world but it takes constant support from investors especially today, there are panic selling and buying at the same time. Selling Bitcoin and buying Bitcoin Cash, miners are moving into Bitcoin Cash and a lot of changes that leads more people into confusions. Some will hold their Bitcoin hoping that the following day Bitcoin will rise again and surpass the recent highest record.
But none of us see it coming. Maybe next year is the year of bitcoin cash and the following year is the year of another.

Bitcoin Cash Plus - A new crypto currency is scheduled to launch for January 2nd,2018.
Bitcoin Cash Plus will contains features for Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold

Anyone who held Bitcoin at the time Bitcoin Cash Plus was created became owners of Bitcoin Cash Plus. This means that Bitcoin holders as of block 501407 (January 2nd, 2018 about 7:10 am UTC) have the same amount of Bitcoin Cash Plus  as they had Bitcoin at that time. If your Bitcoins are stored by a third party such as an exchange, then you must inquire with them about your Bitcoin Cash Plus.

Any transactions after the August 1st ledger split are completely separate between Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash Plus . This means any Bitcoin acquired after the split does not include any Bitcoin Cash Plus , and any Bitcoin Cash Plus does not include any Bitcoin.

I think if that happens I honestly think we're done, the whole market will crash and cryptocurrencies will be remembered like tulipmania.

Bitcoin ties it all together, if it was to be replaced by Bitcoin Cash, what's to stop someone doing the same to Bitcoin Cash later on?

Bitcoin is seen as both an investment and a store of value, who's going to invest or store value  in something that can be replaced every six months, leaving your investment worthless? That's what these coup attempters don't get, they can kill the whole thing and make crypto a joke.

If Bitcoin Cash replaces BTC I think I'm cashing in my chips.

Highly unlikely that this would ever happen. If Bitcoin Cash dominates and surpasses bitcoin that would mean the end of BTC/BCH and all other Bitcoin copies.

Immediately everybody would turn to other coins including Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin, Monero and we would have a new winner!

But this is just a speculation of what could happen if Bitcoin Cash would dominate.

It is possible, but not without a lot of improvement in adoption for Bitcoin Cash.
The moment that Bitcoin cash is the default platform for transactions (not just speculative) is the moment that they truly have momentum to gain the spotlight.

This is not today, but it cannot be denied that they do have a lot of capital and potential, so do not deny the possibility of it happening when BTC is not alert.

It's fallen back now big time, the chart looks like Everest.

But I maintain they came pretty close, they've only got to convince enough people that it's happening and it happens. Had it got to 60% rather than 45% BTC then a lot of people would have made the switch, and exchanges would do whatever's popular, they would introduce Bitcoin cash trading as the main trading within a week. So it's not impossible at all.

It's hard to say - the price increase from Bitcoin cash has been amazing last few days. BTC has always been king of the jungle but can it be surpassed? I think it could be possible - we will just need to watch the coming days and weeks to find out.

I think no. It is now growing only because it is specifically moved up and then just at the very top, those who started it all take it and go out to get a huge profit. And the rest will be at a loss

Any possibilities would be happen just like the other currencies. Only we really don't know wich one and when it comes. Since bitcoin cash is newly created, we can say that a lot of things need to work on. And I believe that btc can be hardly defeated by this new coin nor by the old existed coin.

go to https://fork.lol to see when Bitcoin is more profitable to mine than BCH, which will let you know when the miners will move back over but i think it takes a long time maybe after bcc fork.

I think any Altcoin can replace Bitcoin in the first seat as most high priced cryptocurrency but even though Bitcoin is the first of its kind, still Bitcoin will be kicking throughout the decade. Bitcoin Cash has the potential to surpass Bitcoin's value by the end of the year or next year but the good thing is that are too many people are into cryptocurrency and this will lead us to the future of monetary trading and economy.

After few days if Bitcoin Cash value will continue to rise then it's a green light that we're on Bitcoin Cash' generation and people would likely trying to stop others to give respect Bitcoin Cash is it has no right and no potential to replace Bitcoin.
This is the time to accept the fact that the future of economy and trade is cryptocurrency and the main or official cryptocurrency still not yet exist.

No. I think there are a lot of speculators that are pumping it up. It went up to 2000 and then dropped to 1400. I think I would like to bet with a few but I already missed the chance since BTC transfer times are up as BCH are sinking. There aren't enough rises and dips to justify belief in the currency. It seems like a singularity. I'm going to be patient.

However, litecoin to BTC rates are great right now. I've been changing them over to BTC. I bought a few alts that are so low that a $10 USD bet is worth it since the companies have already raised so much money in their ICOs so (hopefully, they are not all crooks) that they should be able to create a decent product in the future.

It's the wildwest again. Now...if Coinbase gave me my BCH, I would have dumped them at the huge rise. Oh, well. Maybe next time.

In the crypto currency world no one know what would happen next but bitcoin cash
can replace bitcoin.

There's no certain reason that Bitcoin will stay on its throne as the highest valued cryptocurrency that's why some people hate the fact. It isn't about buying a coin then sell it with a hundred fold of profits. Something's mot right and imbalance when Bitcoin will continue to rise while people are keeping their coins so that there will be too few coins that is actually circulated.
Now is the time for the underdogs to rise.

Miners has the biggest role for cryptocurrency so then if these large number of miners will decide what Altcoin they're making god fortune then they can do it. Somehow, cryptocurrency will then be manipulated just like casinos. They switch as they like and leaving Bitcoin's thousands of unverified or pending transactions.

No, Bitcoin cash can't replace bitcoin because it's not yet as popular as Bitcoin and also its price still a lot lower than BTC until now.
I think Bitcoin cash will remain as an altcoin and it is far away from replacing the most used crypto currency .

Bitcoin Cash is the previous fork of bitcoin last August. This is not literally 'cash', BCH is another digital currency that resulted from the said fork, anyways after the launch of this coin, the crypto world immediately dismissed it.

Anyways, don't panic too much, there is a sudden increase in the value of BCH and a sudden down of BTC but after hours the statistics changed. Read http://www.newsbtc.com/2017/11/12/bitcoin-cash-drops-2800-1300-lies-ahead-long-term/

"I still don’t think BCH can compete with BTC long term, but markets can stay irrational for a long time."

If this Bitcoin cash becomes the new Bitcoin maybe bitcoin's value would become bitcoins last value of around 7K$. And if bitcoin cash keeps on rising on the market more investors would think twice and pull out their money from bitcoin. Just a thought who knows still bitcoin would be indestructable.

This time looks the miner still interested in the bitcoin and about the futures trade from wallstreet company and not sure about bitcoin cash centralized can do that.

No it wont. Bitcoin's purpose or goal is to have transactions or payments with only the use of gadgets. Only digital currency but this bitcoin cash is the opposite. It still uses paper money for bills so i think it will not replace or even get to the level of bitcoin. The original one is better than bitcoin cash. But if the bitcoin cash's system will find a way to break out, there is a possibility that it might replace bitcoin but that chance is small like 10-30%. It now all depends on how these two will provide its service and lets see who is more efficient then will talk.

Although technically Bitcoin Cash is better than Bitcoin in many aspects but for now, I think Bitcoin Cash will take a very long way to realize that Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency that is trusted by millions of users around the world. People don't abandon Bitcoin for a reason but Bitcoin Cash can have it's way up the graph but doesn't mean Bitcoin Cash can beat Bitcoin in terms of stability and support.

How do you think?
All coins has the ability to skyrocket anytime depending on how strong and big the community that support a specific coin so it is always unpredictable for me because coins are community driven assets. One is for sure in this new all time high that whales makes BitcoinCash pump but the question is how long? Though it is hard to speculate for now but still it has the chance to fall back slowly and then pump again and so on and so forth. Good for the BitcoinCash holders they now have huge profits for sure. Too bad for me because I sold my BitcoinCash at $600 last August and already converted all my coins to fiat money for my medical check-up because of Aneurysm. Better luck next time for me. Any coin can possibly replace Bitcoin but not for now Bitcoin has bigger community, adopters, holders, enthusiasts, merchants, Bitcoin is accepted by most countries and has more whales than the newer BitcoinCash so I think if ever it will replace Bitcoin it will take many many long years to completely replace the pioneering and dominating Bitcoin.

I do not think that BCH will ever replace BTC. The reason is because, as of right now, new adopters of Crypto are MUCH more comfortable with BTC than any other currency and as of right now, new adopters are numerous and VERY important. However, in the future when new adopters are few (or non existent) I do believe that BTC will be surpassed by another currency. I know that this currency will NOT be BCH because by this time in the future, there will be countless currencies better than both conventional BTC and BCH. In fact, I do not believe that the superior currency in the future will even be a fork of BTC.

Good luck and stay safe! :P

Looks like it may be heading for below 1K now

might have been a big whale pump and dump (ie bitmain...I see your hidden hand in this!) (bitmain: we do evil OFTEN and well) (tm bitmain)

anyway.......it likely will survive as an ALT (so will keep my BCH on my BTC address : hell virtual real estate...now renting to BCH and BCG which wtf is now $255)

and as long as we are using self-rationalization for this entire clusterf*ck on forks...(denial: how I get thru the day)

I will add this....WITHOUT any of the forks ...BTC from 7.8k ATH to 6.3k, as of this moment, it looks like a NORMAL correction under the circumstances

that is roughly a 20% correction....the stock market drops 20% it is a recession/correction

thus

IF all now reboots and starts going up on BTC to its *hopeful* 10k mountain shelf....to do some horizon gazing...

I will rationalize BCH at 1k and or BTG at 500 usd

ALL THE DAMN DAY LONG!!!

rationalization: it makes the world go round

(good thing no self-interest involved in all this on my part...at least from a 'paper profits' kinda viewpoint....right?) :)

(especially, if the new way to make ALT coins is to frigging FORK.....many, there are gonna be so many forks it will look like a 'gerbil herd')

IMHO, BCH is just a worse version of LTC......LTC has seg witness and a scaling solution in place (hard fork if more than 50% of block is full) also from what I understand, faster
xfer rate and fewer fees

I"m a hoping, LTC comes back when the china exchanges come back, after know your customer is put in place on supposed re-opened exchanges in China.....I think LTC will come back in a big way

then again, I don't understand BCH worth a damn .and all the forks coming off BTC....so what do I know

As I stated before ..BCH as an Alt works for me

BUT ..if you can just fork off of BTC or whatever and have your forked coin born at an alt at say $10 rather than 10c as was common at best with an alt coin launch

we are gonna see lots of wtf forked coins springing out of all the main crypto's in mass

won't it be fun when the IRS add up all the money these 'supposed' paper profit coins were worth when they hit the world and the IRS says it is pure profit INCOME so
send
them a check...even if during the year they tank ( but you can take up to 3k loss per year forever!)

unlikely as hell, my CPA said this kinda thing would most likely be (99% plus) treated as a stock split....just leave it alone

but look at mining ....the IRS hates money from the air ( or gold from the ground) thus  treated as income like a job and taxed accordingly

they do the same thing with 'fantasy fork money' and I'm screwed

you want to kill btc or crypto that would be a start thou

not gonna happen, just scaring you guys...but still gives me the shudders

It can be! Due to the volume of unconfirmed transactions, Bitcoin Cash was created.  It can accomodate a larger block which is 8MB while Bitcoin has only 1MB. This is also the reason why SegWit was not approved by the community.  SegWit needs to remove a certain part of the transaction just to free up block. While, Bitcoin Cash does not have to remove anything but, to increase the number and allow to complete the transaction.  This is also to avoid preassure to the cryptocurrency world.

It's unlikely BCC will replace BTC, even though it seems to be doing quite Ok lately. Thats all due to segwit cancellation.
The rise of BCC is simply a pump and dump strategy imo. Alot has happened in the passed few days within the cryptoworld, and i believe many have mixed feelings about BTC, so maybe it would be best if you waited till next month when the smoke clears.
I wont invest in BCC just yet, till everything is more clearer! I am happy with Bitcoin thank you very much.

Its all in the name
It COULD happen, but perhaps the question is misleading. Currently it seems whatever holds the name "BITCOIN" will remain on top.

BITCOIN has such a huge advantage in terms of branding that even though its technology is inferior to Bitcoin Cash it will remain on top.

In the end of the day, BCH (Bitcoin cash) and BTG (Bitcoin Gold) are forks of Bitcoin and therefore considered an altcoins, is it not?

And it's not like we don't have enough Bitcoin forks floating around out there.. ;D

Bitcoin Segwit
Here's another viewpoint. Could Bitcoin Cash overtake the name Bitcoin while Bitcoin becomes Bitcoin Segwit?

It is obviously unthinkable. It would in the end turn up like what occurred with Bitcoin gold which just on standard right on time after getting into the market at that point fall following couple of months. No altcoin or some other crypto will supplant Bitcoin on the grounds that it has the greatest group. It has additionally the biggest market esteem and bunches of speculators are into it so it won't be supplanted.

Nothing is impossible but it is highly improbable, a lot of noise was made concerning ETH, that because of its features it will overtake bitcoin, but today we all know the difference. It is clear that bitcoin is regarded as the Gold Standard of cypto and enjoys massive adoption.

It came down as fast as it went up. I hope people didn't lose money by trying to catch the train. I don't think it will replace bitcoin unless there is enough interest in it. I don't see that happening though.

Why is everyone trying to replace bitcoin anyway? they both can co-exist just like millions other alts. How do you replace it assuming you can?  :D

I do not think this can happen. BCH increased because whales were deliberately pushing it to reduce the price of bitcoin to buy bitcoin at a cheaper price. Be careful when investing.

Anyone here knows what was the "network upgrade" supposed to take place today? What ever it was even before it happens it changed the market's focus and interest, Investors are coming back to bitcoin but fees still are extremely high. With bitcoin cash claiming to be faster than bitcoin and better, I wonder why no one is forking them this time :D

You can also trade the bitcoin in real money, So i think  there's no way reasons bitcoin cash will replace bitcoin. Bitcoin is a currency too you can use this to shop online or convert it in real money.
I also don't think bitcoin can replaced bcash, this is not possible, cause its digiatal currency and they want people use digital system, this is really good thinking.
I also support this.

Same here. I really do not think that Bitcoin Cash can replace Bitcoin. If crypto currency market is exist and live now, the reason is Bitcoin. Just think like this, Bitcoin is the father of everything in the crypto market.

There's no way that bitcoin cash will ever replace bitcoin. Many still prefer to stay in bitcoin as this is the most popular crypto in the market. And most of the companies are looking their investments to bitcoin and not with bitcoin cash. They do know that bitcoin cash is being manipulated by the Ver group so they are just throwing their money if they'll choose bitcoin cash for their business ideas.

I can't say that its impossible since everything in the crypto world is uncertain. However, it may be difficult for bitcoin cash to really overcome bitcoin since it's way too high and it will apparently require a lot of effort and investment. Time is also in play but while bitcoincash is imrpoving its self, its also the same situation for bitcoin; it will also continue to improve and attract more and more investors.

If I was China, which supposedly is in the process of making its own Government backed cryptocurrency...

I'd make is sha-256...obviously after the BCH launch......miners have no shame and would run to that coin in a heartbeat

Add that a 'tiny' law that says something like, no profits on mining this coin will be taxed the first year or other advantages

that would suck...along the lines if you 'can't beat them....steal the idea' method of control

Even Bitcoin cash was growth faster in the crypto currency community I never think that this altcoin surpass bitcoin in the future. Maybe they followed the line and surpass ethereum but bitcoin I think never happen.
In addition increasing rapidly of bitcoin cash in the market was due to supports of bitcoin cash miners, however even hard bitcoin cash earn a lot of supports from miners, they cannot beat bitcoin due to high popularity of this crypto currency in the whole digital society.

Bitcoins have a good market, good value and many people are using it and have trust in it which is keeping bitcoin at top. Bitcoin cash may replace bitcoin sure, but it may take a good time.

Some of this (most) is inflicted by those who don't like bitcoin core (btc) ..notice how transactions were fast and no spam or attack issues on the BTC transactions

when for a brief time a couple months ago...everyone thought there would be consensus and segwit2+2mb (since cancelled) was gonna work it all out?

NOW...you have big money power plays and SUDDENLY all the spam on the BTC transactions are back

amazing coincidence huh?

A person could almost say this was a pump and dump attempt on making $$$ vs a true upgrade path ...from those signers of BCH and such

Naw, no one could be that evil right? to pull stunts like what I am suggesting?

Then again I have it on good authority that the BCH Devs work out of this place

This is almost funny, till you realize the level of evil involved in all these pump/dump/fud fun and games are real life ..not a story....

enough greed and Bitcoin (of many flavors BTC, BCH, BTG, etc), IF you pile enough sh*t on it all...could really, really start to grow a nice crop of TULIPS!

Bitcoin has been in a very rough and roller-coaster road before claiming it's success and Altcoins will have the same as Bitcoin's.
Bitcoin cash is pumping last week but that doesn't mean it could break down or replace Bitcoin in a simple way.
My conclusion is that Bitcoin Cash cannot replace Bitcoin in terms of value, $1,200 vs 6,500 is too far of being a true rival.

Bitcoin Cash will soon replace Bitcoin in terms of values per coin if Bitcoin Cash will remain increasing and Bitcoin is dropping every other week then by next year Bitcoin Cash will be the top cryptocurrency but today there are no such adjustments so Bitcoin Cash sudden bubble will soon fade or remain flat in a period of time.

Bitcoin has tremendous support from people, investors and miners so it will be hard for some Altcoin to reach Bitcoin's success. A sudden Bitcoin Cash bubble is due to a large scale of miners but that doesn't mean that Bitcoin Cash will continue to rise because these miners are trying to shift and find out the effects of the cryptocurrency surge flow

The next Bitcoin is Bitcoin.

If it was going to be "replaced", there are hundreds of technologically superior candidates.

Bitcoin is loved and respected because it's everyone's dad, it's what started it all, it's not respected for upcoming tech or other attributes.

Bitcoin is Bitcoin, Bitcrash is nothing, just a shitty alt with nothing going for it.

Waves, Particl, Neo, Eth, etc. All far superior tech wise to BCH, if anyone's going to dethrone Bitcoin it won't be BCH.

nah, I don't see how this can happen. Forks are hardly branching out to the inferior solution. Even though there are some impovements in the protocol it is still not what Bitcoin is, and the trust in still not there as is with Bitcoin. Yes, we might have seen Bitcoin Cash appreciating signficintaly within the past days, but as you've noticed the markets have balanced this out eventually. There is just way too much hype on Cash and that's why we see the price/BC cash appreciate so much, it should have never happened in the first place. You can't really go wrong by being invested in BTC, because most people are already using it and the technology (as every other coin) is depended on this adoption. So as long as BTC is the "king" of crypto you can rest assured that it is a safe enough investment.

Why is Jihan Wu of Bitmain so hot on BCH..well, imho he has all the angles covered

'EVIL FRIGGING GENIUS'

Jihan Wu of Bitmain, also supposedly can still get 15% to 20% more in mining BCH than BCT with ASIC boost..asicboost does NOT work with ANY flavor of seg witness...

..thus he has slack to push this BCH protocol as a BTC replacement, and if that does not work...fallback as an ALTCOIN and if that does not work..he can dump it back to BTC

at a much HIGHER  price...then the hoard he has accumulated of BCH since it's launch....(he has only accepted BCH since this Fall for Bitmain Equipment...obviously hoarding it for this

option if needed)

than when BCH becomes an Altcoin he can run his older fading sha-256 miners in mass yet on BCH.... (sha-256 becoming obsolete BTC equip on and still use ASIC boost as a hedge win/win)

This is especially true,

if BCH does NOT work in the above manner...stalling the difficulty and obsolescence of his sha-256 stuff and the 15% to 20% hedge with asicboost....he can always dump ALL at a much

higher price back to BTC

Ideally, for him...in the longer term...with BTC price continuing upward....in price....BCH becomes a $400 or $500 USD mineable sha-256 ALT coin ....for his fading BTC miners and it is a

win/win/win o

Jihan Wu of Bitmain, with very little risk, whale wise...but a hell of a lot of upside for the trouble....

WELL PLAYED, WELL PLAYED INDEED! (Slow Clap)

BCH will never replace BTC.

Bitcoin cash was created after a hard fork in August and from that day it is doing everything that can be done to rise up and to face BTC in price and availability. BTC is the digital currency that has raised in a couple of months and miners are faithful to it and have beliefs that will rise even more. Bitcoin cash is attracting new miners with its new hash rate system and price on the market has now gone over 1000 USD. That is fast climbing in the comparison with the maker of coins - Bitcoin. Noone knows what will happen but the real battle for coins will begin in 2018.

You could earn with Cash. But I did not dare to buy this coin. I saw the fall of such bubbles in an hour. I'm not sure that I could sold it with a profit if the price had gone down. This is just manipulation, the game of major miners. As an altcoin, it can compete with other altcoins, but not with bitcoin.

bitcoin is the only decentralized cryptocurrency out there. or maybe you don't know what centralization looks like. in which case look into other altcoins that do forks and rollbacks to cover their mess ups by flipping a switch without even considering what the users may or may not want!

and it is not about the name it is because bitcoin has succeeded at being a currency even if it has some downsides such as temporary high fees but altcoins have failed to that and even if they begin to be adopted as currencies they have worse scaling than bitcoin, some of them will fail to handle transactions like etehreum did and some of them will have even higher fees if it comes to that.

This question has been asked multiple times before by many people.

Bitcoin Cash is going to become altcoin and will end up fighting with rest of the altcoins for a spotlight next to Bitcoin and, at the end of the day, Bitcoin Cash will need to adapt and survive but only time will tell if it does.

Put the BCash scam into perspective this way...

It took Bitcoin eight years of blood, sweat, tears, and attacks from bad actors like Roger Ver to get to $1,300; while BCash, which has accomplished nothing but mischief and fraud - and is used by NO ONE - took three months...

The biggest lie from the BCH crowd?

Core developers don't want to scale bitcoin to the world. These simple minds cannot even begin to understand the amazing tech currently in development. Why would they?

You need an advanced degree in computer science and cryptography to begin to understand it.

Possibility is there, but at times this seems to be manipulated. Based on which I don't think this will last long, as a split from the main chain it has got the potential to grow high. How about replacing bitcoin means, with this growth and acceptance surely not. The recent price increase is the one that has made it know around than the past. Now it has got good trading volume.

I think the chance of the replacing is 0%. Bitcoin cash also has more advantages than Bitcoin, but the investors dont care about that. They just focus on the profit from Bitcoin.

I think if both had entered the market on the same day bitcoin cash price would be much more than bitcoin, is faster and cheaper

You're a fucking idiot, Roger Ver was one of the first people out there to invest in Bitcoin and promote the hell out of it. I'm not for or against the guy but give credit where it due. It's people like him that actually understand the hijacking of Bitcoin via Blockstream and their fucking sidechains.

But if you are decentralized guy Bitcoin will suit you.

FYI, Bcash is altcoin :)

It is a big no, because bitcoin cash is a product of bitcoin and why would it replace bitcoin, thats a big no, also bitcoin is a digital currency and btc cash is a money, but just think of it that bitcoin is known all over the world and they know what is btc and btc cash thats why people will not let that happen. Bitcoin is more great and reliable to use, you will think more practical when you use btc.

I do nit think that bitcoincash will replace bitcoin in the future. Its a long way to go before it can replace the king of cryptocurrency. But who knows what will happen in the future , if ever bitcoin will goes low in value , there are many altcoins out there capable of being in the number one spot just like bitcoin did. Bitcoincash , etherium , litecoin , neo and many more.

Even in the event that bitcoin eventually becomes relegated due to its inefficiency as a currency of daily use, there would be multiple options of altcoins that would be natural candidates to supply it before bitcoin cash, because at this very moment I see that many people prefer carry out their transactions through Ripple, Ethereum, Litecoin and even Dogecoin before Bitcoin Cash. But the market is sometimes capricious and unpredictable and everything can happen in the long term.

As of now, Bitcoin cash is approximately equal to $3,300 while Bitcoin is approximately equal to $17,400. The gap between their prices is too big. By looking at the price and the percent of change of each of the two, you can simply know which one of them is better. I do not think Bitcoin cash will defeat Bitcoin. Bitcoin cash has Bitcoin in its name. Bitcoin is the original coin. It will always be in the position of rank 1.

Posted this on another thread..but bears repeating, IMHO.

Is it just me...or does it seem that BCH jumps up in price quite a bit......drama/angst/etc...then about 24 hours or less

later.....BTC goes up to more or less previous value...and the big switcharoo? And Blamo! The whales have turned $$$

to BCH and then BCH into BTC.

(This could not be that cynical a process right? Evolution of Humanity to a Bigger and Brighter Future Right?)

Anyway, seems like this is getting as common as sun up each day in the east, and set in the west.

Could this really be that simple a reason that BCH was made?

Rinse/Wash/Repeat?

A 'newbie' perpetual ATM machine?

Naw! Jihan Wu and Bitmain and the others pumping BCH, would not stoop that low, right?

Heh, I crack myself up!

How do you think?
I think that at the moment, Bitcoin Cash is not strong enough to replace Bitcoin, even it can not beat ETH. Bitcoin Cash came out about a couple of months ago, it was detached from the original Bitcoin series. Although its value is high, but when compared to its history of growth and speed of growth, I'm afraid it can not replace Bitcoin, at least for the next few years. However, in the distant future everything can happen, Bitcoin Cash may be the first, we don't know the future.

you are just overly excited because it has the name "bitcoin" in it and also mostly because it is getting pumped. you see the big green number saying price has risen in the past few days and you think everything is fine because of it!

but if you wait a couple of weeks you can get your answer loud and clear. when the dumps begin shortly and then intensify in a couple of weeks, that is when price of BCH crashes and miners will abandon it. they have the EDA to protect the chain and if they remove it, the chain is screwed. the only reason why miners switch is this EDA that changes difficulty so they can mine a thousand blocks in one day!
There a huge gap between bitcoin and bitcoin cash. Not just in price also in trust and reputation. So i dont think that bitcoin cash can replace bitcoin. Maybe if it happen it takes a long time and alot of supporters for BCH. They need to double time in order to surpass BTC. Because BTC never stop improving and evolving. So it will be a huge challenge for the BCH.

Well we don't know exactly for sure, but as you can see the chart like now, bitcoincash is becoming more and more popular and stronger crypto coin each day. Only time will tell if Bitcoin cash can replace Bitcoin. With the recent hike in transaction fees for Bitcoin, people will start taking Bitcoin cash more serious. If it wasn't Roger Ver manipulation, I don't think anyone really cares about BCH in terms of tech. BCH has 0 activity on Github with trash Whitepaper. I don't see BCH replacing Bitcoin ever.

Yes it can be since Bitcoin Cash is made out from bitcoin's blueprint but somehow it's a bit hybrid. But since Bitcoin is still around, i think it's hard for BCH to take BTC's position. Bitcoin is always been there in the cryptoworld already before these alt coins are being made.

Agreed but it may be possible due to the popularity of bitcoin and so many countries tries to regulate the price cause they are alarmed of the bad side of bitcoin and its value. Bitcoincash can replace bitcoin only if bitcoin stops working, capps all the money, no miner's, time. When i say time i mean an incredibly huge amount of it. Though it might be soon due to the internets influence.

The possibility will not happen, because every country has cash money. .

Cash is only used for each country and can be used for foreign currency exchange.

Difference cash because the value of its price is different, so make this cash currency can be traded.
Which is now a world cash market, its fine bitcoin remains as digital money online to remain an online marketplace in the internet world.

Now we can get the cash by exchanging digital money without any effort.

BCH don't have problems with pending transactions and high fees. It has miners support and a very influential founder. It already costs more than 0.2btc. According to all these facts my answer is yes, it has all the chances to replace BTC.

Agreed, this is the start of the downfall of bitcoin due to its problem in the transaction both fees and pending one, i been thinking a lot right now on weather to continue to bitcoin or change solely to bitcoin cash.

I don't think that Bitcoin Cash will be able to replace the good old Bitcoin. Even though BCH is much faster and cheaper to maintain.
All the same Bitcoin possesses charisma and everyone's on hearing, that's why it's invested the most.

Bitcoin Cash replacing BTC is something we can just have discussion, but in reality this is not possible. If BTC growth is stopped then Bitcoin Cash can climb to catch up the value and try replacing BTC. However BTC is growing like a giant.

If BTC is down then it bounce back to double growth as per my observation. I can say that no Altcoin could even  touch BTC value and growth for another 5 years.

To Stop Bitcoin Cash...what could Bitcoin Core do?

If I was bitcoin core...I'd either

1) pull Lighting out of my hat....and get some of that moving..razzle dazzle etc

or

2) do a hard fork, just to slap down Bitcoin Cash to about 800 bucks again at most, might not

be ideal, but better the decentralized group slap the BCH spam'ing centralized group now with a hard fork, I figure, then watch 'Rome burns'

with ludicrous fees!

(Actually, if I was core, I'd be pissed off enough to just do both...then all that BCH would come home to 'mama' :)

A daydream I know..but how long can core put up with the spam'ing and high transaction fees w/o hard fork

on their part? not sure....seems sucky to be bitcoin core right now unless all or some of the above is done "pronto"

yeah, yeah, I know ...if wishes were horses...etc/etc

But at the moment, Bitcoin Cash is standing at the 3rd place on the coinmarketcap beside Coinbase has added BCH in their wallet maybe in the future Bitcoin Cash can be able to replace Bitcoin :)

It is faster now because of the larger block size but this is just a temporary solution. The price increase is only due to the investors taking advantage of the hype around it because of the coinbase listing.

Bitcoin cash was created after a hard fork in August,2017 and from that day BCH is doing everything that can be done to rise up and to face BTC in price and availability but BCH is just like another alt, nothing special. Moreover, Bitcoin is unique.

Bitcoin is a blockchain legacy that began 8 years ago. Whereas, Bitcoin’s hard fork gave birth to Bitcoin Cash on August 1st, 2017. After the fork, Bitcoin holders got the same amount of BCC. This has given rise to more competition since BCC has been endowed with all the resources available with BTC. While BCC has the same base and security as Bitcoin, it more efficient and energy-saving. But Bitcoin loyals believe that Bitcoin’s core values are not as easy to replace. However, even though Bitcoin Cash is a better version of Bitcoin, but the market still remains in Bitcoin’s favor. This is obvious from Bitcoin’s value, which grew by 1000% this year and the market saw its highest value ever in the history of the young world of crypto-currency. Consumer behavior is largely influenced by brand and Bitcoin is more appealing brand than Bitcoin Cash. It has built up consumer trust within all these years, and it would be difficult for a new crypto currency to overtake this in a few months.

Even though there are some improvements in the protocol it is still not what Bitcoin is, and the trust is still not there as is with Bitcoin. Yes, we might have seen Bitcoin Cash appreciating significantly within the past days, but as you've noticed the markets have balanced this out eventually.

Historically the idea of a "correct and unique" bitcoin is stirring people's minds. Civil war occurs only between two "clans"  Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash despite the large number of forks source codes.

Bitcoin Cash was made to bring back the essential qualities of money inherent in the original Bitcoin Software. from my opinion, i think bitcoin cash might not replace Bitcoin since it is the mother of all AltCoins since also many altcoins are aiming to be at the top. bitcoin is made to have a high value soon since people are in demand of it.
