Python bot I created to trade directly based on Mcafee's Coin of the Week.

For people who don't know what this is: Mcafee ( the guy from the anti virus ) is announcing his weekly altcoin pick every Monday morning on his twitter. As soon as he tweets his Coin of the Week, the price of this coin skyrockets to about 100% - 200% in a matter of minutes.

You don't have to agree with what he is doing here or his coin pick. But I think everybody can see that there is huge amount of profit to be made if you are the first to buy his coin of the week.

That is why I created this bot.

How the bot works

• Enter how much BTC you want to trade.
• Gets live feed from John's twitter.
• As soon as John posts his coin of the day Tweet, the bot will activate.
• First it checks if the Coin of the day can be found in text.
• If not it will download the image, translates the image to text and finds the coin of the day in the image.
• Detects on which exchange the bot can be traded ( currently Bittrex & Binance are supported ).
• Places market order for the pair on suitable exchanges.

Bot speed:
Time to trade based on text tweet: 1 second
Time to trade based on text tweet: 5 seconds

New version: V2 - Auto-Sell!
Maybe people have request that I added auto-sell to the bot. This is the main new feature with Version 2 of the bot. You got the option to either turn it on or off, and select at how much profit % you want the bot to place the sell order.

Jup, this morning all our bot users made between 70 - 110%. Trade order was placed within 3 seconds after the tweet.

Do you plan to support more exchanges? Do you provide buyers with the source code? Or your bot is closes with something like py2exe?

If you are giving the source, not just stand alone exe, I will definitely buy it, with escrow or if you send first. But I would not run closed source exe on my machine.

Yes planning on releasing v2 this weekend. Will be faster, more exchanges, and auto-sell. However, I will probably also increase the price with this release.

I was literally just thinking about doing this same thing. A few days after they add altcoins to the Bloomberg terminal I will quit trading crypto based on news, but right now crypto is basically the stock market in the 1920s. You can actually trade the second news comes out and watch as the price goes up or down slowly. As a young person I dreamed of being able to trade that way based on my gut instincts and trigger finger. Crypto actually gave me that chance!

I just wanted to say good work on the bot. It's a pretty good idea. I've been learning by thin for awhile now and thinking about new projects to make.. this could be the next one.

I'm more thinking how you get it to read the image that he posts. Probably using some sort of screenshot sort of method. Anyway good work on the bot and hope sales go well.

McAfee has issued a statement that his views has been highjacked therefore he is changing tactics. Does this not take into consideration this adjusted position of Mr. McAfee?

He stated some time ago that he was going to make it harder for bots. He did this by showing the coin of the week in an image. This bot can read images ;)

I guess if you're someone who works 9-5 and can't access your home computer in order to take advantage of the Bot
you have to have your computer running 24/7?

No you won't have to sit behind your pc all days. He tweets the coin of the week every Monday morning US time. For me ( GMT time ) it's always between 2pm & 4pm.

Seems like bot creation is becoming a piece of cake. Everyone is making a bot these days!! But your bot is surely very interesting. Processing the tweets and buying the coins within seconds, that's some skill bro. I am not into pumps and dumps, otherwise I would have seriously tried this thing.

I sometimes, like everyone else, read his forecasts. Some are like a frank pump. As if he was paid money for advertising. But some of the forecasts look pretty good and reasonable.

This echosystem is getting more and more surreal. Soon we will need a nanodrone who flies inside McAfee's home and tries to steal his secrets by reading his lips or whatever :D

I am so tired of McAfee giving "tips" on the coin of the day or the dump of the year. Frankly, market manipulation is a criminal offence in many countries and is one of the things that kills the crypto market.

Version 2 Released: Auto-Sell!

For the existing bot members: I have just released version 2 of the bot, with auto-sell feature. ( reply to me @ selly to get the free update ). The bot can now place a sell order for x % profit. In the same settings area where you enter the API keys you can turn this feature on ( True ) or off ( False ). Then set @ how much profit you would like the bot to place the sell order: 1.5 = 50% profit, 1.75 = 75% profit, 2 = 100 profit, etc.

I advise everybody to test the bot as much as possible before Monday! Below the part where you entered the API keys you can find the line:

As McAfee tweets during irregular hours, do you need to keep the bot running on your desktop 24/7?

He only tweets the Coin of the Week on Monday mornings US time ( between 2pm & 4pm GMT time ). So the bot only needs to be on for 2 hours a week.

in my opinion McAfee refused to publish new content on his Twitter account, as his Twitter was hacked by hackers

Since there are over 100 new ICOs each week, and since you cannot pump and dump them (longer term investment) it makes no sense to do only one per week. Many of them are gems. I will do at least three per week on a random basis.

Yeah the key here is to buy as soon as he tweets, and don't HODL the coin of the week but sell after a couple of minutes. Or use the new Auto-sell feature in V2.

Nah man. I've made this bot pretty fool proof. It will only run on the terms "Coin of the Week". It will be the first to buy and has auto-sell @ any profit % you like. I suggest everybody to only run it on Monday mornings, in case he gets hacked again lol.

You can check if you have succesfully installed python3 by typing the following command in cmd/terminal: python3
You should then get what version of python 3 you are running.

It only trigger when John posts: "coin of the week". It will than scan for the coin in the text or image of the tweet. I advise everybody to only run the bot on Monday morning as this is the only time he tweets the coin of the week ( and not any other day of the week when he got hacked lol ).

I was sitting at my computer when his account got hacked.  I didn't have the bot at that time.
However, all of the ones that were tweeted during the hack went up pretty nice

I have been continuously been developing this bot over the past 2 weeks. And will keep developing it until McAfee stops with Coin of the Week ( he announced he will do it about 40 times ).

Yeah very true. On my first trade with the bot I made 150% profit on a $1400 trade. Thats $2100 profit right away in a matter of minutes. Compare that the price of the bot and decide for yourself.

Mate don't talk shit if you don't know what you talking about. You can just edit the API settings to only let the bot trade and not withdraw. So nothing is getting drained. You also get the full source code so you can see exactly what is going on.

Hi jjnorton, as I understand, the bot is requesting McAffee's twitter every 2s until it finds the Coin of the week. I guess you use fake userAgent to avoir the bot being banned by twitter. Don't they also have a daily limist request based on IP ?

it's common that, if bots can read images . ai and bot developments are very fast, but bot development is limited to sell and orders, without providing exact analysis according to market position for users . now users bot trading need a metadata from trading , i need this kind of bot .

Nah, so far The Fake_userAgent module has been doing it's job. If you get any error about limited requests, it might be your internet connection.

Did you have Python3 installed on your computer already or did you download it recently?
When you go to your Command prompt and type in Python3 does it show the version you are running?
I can only get Python recognized by typing in py at the command prompt.

Installing it might require some tweaking, but I help everybody set it up.

I bought it and configuring it is really easy, you just have to configure your exchange api key and amount you want to trade, it's quite simple. I'm waiting for McAfee's tweet...

Agree, McAffe is a well-known person as tech-savvy, So I expect mainstream will follow his pieces of advice, And I believe he picks a coin based on his research and analysis. It's really different when a celebrity promotes a coin, it's not their specialize.

1. He posted he will do about 40 coins of the week/day. Think he has done around 7 so far. So take advantage while you can. After that the party is over.

I can't get it to load. I just downloaded and installed Python 3.6 and restarted my computer. When I type python3 in the cmd it says it is not recognized as a command. Clicking on the .py file opens a window [filename].exe that immediately closes. Please check your PMs here or on selly for my phone number.

I'm still trying to get it working 100% (I won't be able to take part in the fun today) but let me share some things I learned after many hours spent this weekend! (It's all worth it if we bank some coin, right!)

If you're running it on Windows don't worry about typing Python3
If you have recently downloaded Python just type Python
However...you really don't need to do that to run the bot...open it in the Python IDLE screen and from the menu in the top you can click Run Module or something like that.
I'm at work so typing this from memory.

When/IF you have to install missing pieces thru pip3 make sure you are running your Command prompt as Admin!  (This alone will save you a lot of head scratching!)

I still have some bugs to work out but have made a bunch of progress since Friday!  hopefully JJ can help me bring it across the finish line today

yes mcafeee is like a prophet this time. every coin that he predict has going up so crazy. i do think mcafee maybe should make a trading site with use of this bot. it will be great hit and if he start the ico about it i believe the hype of the ico will be so high.

I got the modules installed. It is saying the file not found error but the image is downloaded properly and I have doubled checked the pytesseract is installed.

Guys make sure when you install Python that you check the 'add extension' box.. If you didn't uninstall it and reinstall it with that option checked.

Also after installing Python.

In command prompt run each of these commands individually line by line otherwise the bot won't work.

Anyway the bot gladly did not activate since he did not use the normal format. And as you can see in the charts it did not create any pump.

Looks like he Tweeted the pic at 8:59am est and then the Text Tweet at 9:05am
Based on chart I'm seeing looks like it pumped at 8:59, pulled back and pumped a bit again at 9:05.

My guess is that since he used a new format, no bot was able to read and activate on it.

And nobody who was doing this manually would buy on this pick lol.

So yeah their goes his last bit of credibility. Sorry guys. I had a lot of money riding on this as well and was hoping for a big win like everybody else.


Off topic: I got a bunch of requests from people who like this idea and want to use it on Telegram Pump & Dump groups. Basically the same idea ( news trading ). In these groups they announce a coin every so often that they will pump. If you are the first to buy it you can make some nice profits. And of course with a bot you can make sure you are the first to buy.

If there is enough demand I might take this up as a next project. Let me know if anybody is interested in this.

Basic workflow of the bot
1). Gets live feed from John's twitter.
You can change this URL ( found under the settings ) to your own URL to test the bot.
2). As soon as John posts his coin of the day Tweet, the bot will activate.
Important to note here that Mcafee ALWAYS has a tweet pinned on this twitter. So the bot will check the SECOND tweet of his profile for the coin of the week. As this is where the tweet will show as soon as it goes live. Keep this in mind when testing on your own profile!
It will only active on the words: “Coin of the”.
3). First it checks if the Coin of the day can be found in text.
Coin must be writtin in full after the words: “Coin of the”. This is to avoid false triggers, and preventing the bot from buying the wrong coin. So Tweet must be: “Coin of the week: Tron etc.” Not: “Coin of the week: TRX”
4). If not, it will download the image, translates the image to text and finds the coin of the day in the image.
Same thing here. The FULL NAME of the coin must appear as the FIRST WORD of the image. So image must start with TRON, not TRX or any other word, else the bot will not buy.
5). Detects on which exchange the bot can be traded ( currently Bittrex & Binance are supported ).
If API keys for an exchange are left as : *** it will skip and try the other exchange.
6). Places market order for the pair on suitable exchanges.
Please be aware of the minium order here when testing. Since people get error if they try to buy an amount to low.


So since John did not include any coin as the first word of the image the bot did not trade. This is done to prevent false positives. Here is the log from the bot:

Yeah something like that. Didn't even beat the highest point of the last 24 hours, so wouldn't really call it a pump.

I'd rather it look for the ticker letters in the image within parenthesis. So if it sees "Coin of the" and then an image containing (COIN) it should grab COIN. How can I change the bot to do this?

I wouldn't since it is much harder to read the text between (), then normal text. But if you want to; change the coin variables in the script from full name to the ticker

Yeah kind of a bummer. But can't really expect much from a guy who posts 2 hours before all this about him buying drugs & hookers with crypto cash.

I still think he has potential to pull of a normal pump next week. Some reasons this week didn't pump.

1). Stupid pick ( obviously main reason ). Picking a coin with 0 utility hoping it would pump just because you say so is a long shot lol
2). High market cap. Lower market caps are way easier to manipulate and pump.

So yeah, if next week he goes for a normal pick with low market cap it still has potential to get a nice pump.

Regarding the bot not trading & false trigger. I can easily edit to bot activate if the coin is found anywhere in the tweet. However, you have to realise it will also buy Altcoin2 in this scenario:

Yeah so for the new format. I will send out an email to all members explaining to them they can use the new format if they prefer. This new format will find the coin anywhere in the tweet / image. So the coin doesn't have to be the first word.

I can say I bought the bot, and have tested it quite extensively using my own twitter feed, and can say so far that it works as advertised. Any issues I have had with it were promptly addressed by the author.
I have it running on both OSX 10.12 Sierra  & Linux Debian 16.

My experience with the software and the seller have been 100% aboveboard and professional.

The issue is that even though they may show you results looking at the code in all of the ones I found they are very particular about how they try to read his tweets.

Yeah.. if you could not sell your script in my thread that would be great. Good luck with the free open source scripts. None of them have image processing so they are useless. Yes I created mine from scratch.

I am aware that the McAfee name carries some weight in the sector. But I do not think that the recommendations in crypto are his strong point. I believe that he is getting involved too much in too many projects without any clear direction and I am not travelling with him.

Yeah his latest pick barely caused a pump ( think like 10% ).
But that because DOGE is ranked #35 with a market cap of 1.4 bil. If he picked a coin around rank 100 with a market cap of 140mil that pick would be a 100% pump. So let's see what he comes up with next round. I got my bot ready anyway.

My Bot Triggered & Found the XLM coin after Mcafee posted the ICO (as the bot is configured to read the second tweet!) Since today mcaffee only posted the Coin of the week  tweet once, my running bot executed the xlm trade exactly at the time the ICO was posted.  (about 1 hour after the coin of the week (xlm) was posted, unfortunately I was not in front of my terminal to kill the bot when it missed the initial XLM tweet)  good thing I only had a small amount btc in for the trade! as it was about an hour late :)

Once again, (as in last week), Mcafee has stopped the bot dead in its tracks

I despise everything connected with bots, because I simply do not understand the meaning of trading then. Yes of course the bot is good, if it is properly configured and works correctly and brings profit, but I'm only for good and correct trade

But this is actually interesting. I watched Mcafee for a long time, but it was always too late to buy coins. Maybe with such a bot I can earn on such trades. Thank you for such an interesting project. Now I will test.
