Bitcoin would be the main coin for a vote,
this virtual currency bitcoin have allot of features
when it comes to a vote against ripple, I heard info
about a new system called lightning network it will
be processing bitcoin payments without fees.

I choose ripple for the future if I have $ 100000 then I will not hesitate to invest my money into ripple because ripple will continue to increase without our own conscious and in the next 5 years the price of ripple like Etherium is now

Bitcoin, ripple is just a small hype which will fly over as soon as there will be one big crash.

If you want to invest for long term go with bitcoin because it has more potential than the most alt coins in the future. But if you want to go short term investment then try ripple maybe when the time cones ripple's price may reach to 5$ or above.

If 2017 people focus on investing Bitcoin, by 2018 the trend will change in a different direction, now Bitcoin rates are standing still and the Altcoin is constantly increasing rapidly. In my view, it should invest in copper ripple because it is very potential, the exchange rate has increased by more than 30% in just 24 hours, and it is important that this coin is backed by Google. This increases the safety of investing in this coin. You should consider investing in the ripple because the exchange rate is expected to exceed $ 10 in the next month.

I'd choose Bitcoin because it was the first CryptoCurrency and because it's used to buy pretty much anything in the crypto world.
But boy, Ripple has much lower fees.

Actually, I can go for ripple just for the reason that you stated because it will be cheaper to acquire loads of ripple coins with just some fractions of bitcoin and in the long run, profits would start accruing rather than just tying one's huge capital. Some times is better to buy cheap coins and wait for the future especially when one is gunning for a long time.  ;D

For long term, no one can beat bitcoin. It's the king and origin of all cryptocurrencies so there's no way for ripple to contest with it. The most close war is between ripple and ethereum, they have both close market cap and has replaced each others places. But for bitcoin, for sure majority of the answer here will choose go for bitcoin when it comes to long term investment.

Bitcoin will always be the option for long term holdings, because first and foremost it is the mother of all cryptocurrency that continue to rise and topped all the coins in the market. Except its high volatility I can say Bitcoin is a stable investment for long term. Ripple on the other hand is a good coin to invest too in a long term, cheaper to buy, less volatile and almost stable, but what separates it with Bitcoin is, Bitcoin can increase up to 100% in less than a month. If I have a huge capital, I will hold both Bitcoin and Ripple because this is two of those good coins in the market and I just dont settle into 1 or 2 or 3 coins only.

I think that no one knows for sure. I see shortcomings both there and there. Bitcoin has problems with a high commission, since the network is currently overloaded, but this problem may be solved in the future. Ripple - the problem is that the issue of coins is not limited. Therefore, it is not clear what will happen, time will tell! >:(

Depends what you want out of them
Bitcoin to invest  and Ripple to use as a currency

I think Bitcoin will continue to go up in price in the long run and I think Ripple will be controlled by the banks to keep its price as low as possible so that it can be used as an online currency

Why not split 50% - 50% for both, both are very good, if you have to choose, I choose btc because the value of the alt is dependent on the price of btc.

I think we are all still being fooled by bankers because we all buy Bitcoin then sell it for fiat,   If people couldent get real money from cryptocurrencys they would become worthless because at the moment Bitcoin is almost impoosible to use as a currency like it was intended for because of its volitlity, its very high price and the transaction fees.

I consider bitcoin as the master of all cryptocurrencies so I will go with this one. I believe bitcoin will survive till next generation and will become more expensive. So bitcoin is always the best choice.. for me.

I'd still go with BTC. Though ripple is doing great right now, I think BTC will still be the long term top crypto. Still you can also make invest in ripple since it's doing great right now and  gaining stability also it has advantage in terms of consumer friendly transaction fees.

If you are jumping on the ripple bandwagon now, you are already too late. Keep in mind that Ripple Labs must keep the cost of their currency under control in order to keep their customers happy. If the currency is too costly, their customers will use something else.

Thats a very good point.
At $3 i think ripple is already being overpriced compared to bitcoin.
I'm not surprised to see next btc rally which will bleed ripple and other alts to death

BTC, Ripple is hype nowadays and it wont be so high in long term, my predictions is that it will bearly touch 5$ and then will start a pullback and will stay in top 10.

I will go for Bitcoin. Ripple remains to be an altcoin and altcoins are alternate cryptocurrencies for a reason. They are alternate to Bitcoin. I would choose the one true top of all cryptocurrencies, and that is Bitcoin. The Ripple price pump is really a good thing as I am a supporter of Ripple itself. But if you compare it with Bitcoin, my support will definitely go to Bitcoin. The rise of Ripple looks temporary to me. Although I hope it will not fall down as hard.

I prefer BTC compared to Ripple .. because Bitcoin is more guarantee than ALT .. and Price or graph Bitcoin more stable .. But Ripple is feared PUMP and DUMP ..

Title: Re: bitcoin or ripple ?

I think ripple is making its way to top right now. Actually it has a more consumer friendly transaction fee compared to BTC. Well to maximize the rise of ripple rightnow , i think its a good idea to invest in it but i don't think it will overcome BTC just yet.

if you want to invest your money you can go with bitcoin 75% and ripple 25% of your money cause these two coin has a great potential and will develop
their technology and become the great currency. but if you want to buy some ripple wait until it got correction and buy on that time

Ripple may be profitable, but it's against the crypto philosophy in terms of being centralized and including the bankers. so I'm on the bitcoin side.

Title: Re: bitcoin or ripple ?
Post by: Vladv26 on January 04, 2018, 01:54:51 AM
It is pretty hard to choose from bitcoin and ripple because bitcoin is more safer to invest in but the profit is smaller while with ripple you can make a huge profit in a few years but there is a possibility to also lose it. I would invest in both of them, you decide the percentage.

Bitcoin had definitely proven that it is the best cryptocurrency and we can see that it stays on the market for almost 10 years now and the price is increasing everyday. But the price is already pretty big and right now it is almost impossible for bitcoin to increase 10 times more while for ripple this is actually very possible to happen in next months.

Ripple had a really good performance since it was released and the price increased over 1000x ,only in first days of 2018 it doubled. I think the price could go to 100$ or more in a few years so the profit would be huge. But ripple price can anytime go down because it is on the market only from 2017. Of course it doesnt mean that Bitcoin cant go down, because anytime absolutely every coin can fall even if it is 100 years old.

For long term purposes I will surely go for bitcoin but of course I know how to diversify my portfolio so yeah, I do hold some XRP because I believe in every cryptocurrency specially those who in rank base on their market cap. XRP is quiet good for me and it makes money for me.

In terms of market value, there's no way Ripple could beat Bitcoin in that category. However, XRP is currently performing well in the market, we can see that the non-circulating supply is 61,253,949,033 which means that there is a holding going on, one of the reason its value continue to rise up. If it goes much further, it might surprise us the way RaiBlocks did and I'm starting to think if converting my Bitcoins into Ripple will be the right thing to do, since Bitcoin's value is currently stable at the moment.

For me bitcoin has the long term potential due to the fact that bitcoin is the mother of cryptocurrencies and has survived the market for a very long time despite the fact that some of bitcoin futures or technology are old and slow compares to that of the alt coins bitcoin still sustain it value and has a steady price rise. But ripple is just new in the market and with the fact that it has new technologies and futures with high speed couple with ripple rapid growth in the market it still dont have the ability to compete with bitcoin ripple is just like a grand son to bitcoin.

I am surprised to see an altcoin like Ripple now disputing the preferences of speculators, since being one of the "oldest" altcoins and after years of being relegated to a very secondary place, it has suddenly dawned as the second place in the market displacing the powerful ethereum and snatching a good portion of market dominance at bitcoin. Personally I think this is just a pump and dump, as speculators did a few weeks ago with Litecoin, so I still prefer bitcoin by far.

My first choice would have to be Bitcoin because of its consistency in still being the most powerful of the coins. My second choice would not be Ripple because it does not have a very impactful existance at this moment. I would go with Ethereum, due to its current climb.

This might be the easiest question I have encountered for this year 2018 as of now. And answering is like as instant as the blink of my eye. No matter what year we’re talking, 2 or 3 years from now or 10 to 20 years in the future. Ripple will always be the same and bitcoin will always be the icon of cryptocurrency and that is more than possibility but a reality.

I have both coins but if I were to choose one I will definitely choose Bitcoin.

You should have Ripple when it was only around $.20 cents. Although you can argue  it as well with Bitcoin that we should able to get it when it was less than a dollar,  but I think Bitcoin still has a very large room for growth even with it's current price.

For me I will sell all my Ripple once it reached $5 because after that I think the price growth is limited, Of course I could be wrong.

Indeed, bitcoin is the most secure and high familiar currency in world of crypto while the followers of bitcoin is very large in number as compare to ripple. Maybe it might happen someday but I am not so sure about ripple at this moment. Actually no one knows what would happen to ripple, even though it's price quite increasing this week some people still believes that it was just for a moment. We all know that it was controlled by those people behind it so I don't trust ripple so much. So I still choose Bitcoin over ripple!

My more direct answer for the absolute long haul is BTC. Since it is the core blockchain, and can be improved upon. It will always be there.

Bitcoin or ripple !? in outline, both have the same formula and work. although there is little difference between Bitcoin and Ripple.

I think, ripple could be an alternative choice, because Bitcoin technology only supports Bitcoin delivery among users. for example: if you want to exchange Bitcoin into your country's local currency, then you should look for exchanger or other Bitcoin users who want to redeem your Bitcoin into local currency.
but, if you use Ripple, you do not need to bother looking for a place to sell your digital currency because Ripple technology facilitates XRP exchange with various currencies in the world, including Bitcoin.

What is the basis of this opinion you might ask? At least 25 mins exp in XRP lol.
All i can say is, bitcoin is painful to use right now and Ripple is cheap and quick. Yeah baby !

Hi there lovebtclss! I know lots of people are getting their attention at Ripple as its price soars more than bitcoin in this last few days. However, if you will compare those coins, bitcoin will still the king and ripple will just ended up like a little brother of bitcoin. In terms of price, I think ripple couldn’t surpass the price of the bitcoin. Even today at different exchange, bitcoin is still the number one in terms of price, volume and market capitalization. Those traders is just enjoying the sky rocketing price of ripple, but for me Bitcoin is still the best of them all.  ;)

just think it's just a ripple it's ever increased so it's still not so much bitcoin because bitcoin just renders all the altcoins and others prefer it to altcoins the ripple just turn it up because it's increased its price but maybe it will not increase and lower its price, but the bitcoin is only stable in price and it does not change because one day increases the bitcoin price.

Bitcoin, ripple is just a small hype which will fly over as soon as there will be one big crash.

Ripple is a small hype, you need to do more research more buddy, also another coin you should invest in is TRX, very cheap now, another coin that has a good dev and a nice community.

Ripple has the momentum. It looks like it might manage to pass btc cap. If that happens then surely it would double again? I'd also expect btc to loose half its value within a short time. I mean, who wants a virtual currency that can't be used.

I hope this happens, the Chinese miners deserve to loose everything for not supporting a block increase. Short term thinking in their part which could well lead to the downfall of btc.

Bitcoin would be the main coin for a vote,
this virtual currency bitcoin have allot of features
when it comes to a vote against ripple, I heard info
about a new system called lightning network it will
be processing bitcoin payments without fees.

I agree. Ripple is better for short term investments because the price increase it can gain, whether it be significant or not, would still not equal to the price gain that bitcoin would have over that period of time. Like many replies have said, bitcoin is the king of all cryptocurrencies; it commands the best price value, marketability and potential amongst all cryptocurrencies available, so for investment whether long or short term, it would still be the better and smarter choice.

Ripley is a centralized crypto currency. It is controlled by bankers. We can not trust them in this matter.

If it were controlled by bankers and by a bank and it would still be better than this.
It is owned entirely by a private company and it has avoided all kinds of regulations in the past.

Basically you're investing in a product of a private company that offers absolutely no protection of your investment.
A centralized coin where if something goes wrong you lose everything and unlike normal coins a community hardfork won't be able to be put in place and save the coin.

Even Disney dollars are better than this.

Ripple has surprised me I must say. Not that long ago it was stuck at $0.20 & now its trading over $3. I would never have envisioned that in such a short space of time considering the high circulating supply. So I guess at this point it must be taken seriously, but I still don't foresee it passing Bitcoins market cap.

There is no doubt that I will choose bitcoin. In the medium and long term, bitcoin is the best investment. Ripple just went crazy this month. This will not last. In a long time, ripple is not a popular investment. I think a gateway service is not enough to support such a high price.

Bitcoin will always be there so accumulating it for the long term is always good, however I would recommend to diversify, I have over the past year only focused on bitcoin, but now I feel one should buy ripple and other alts to diversify one's portfolio, cause I see a huge demand for alts and as one can see people are moving away from bitcoin, so it's a safe bet. However be careful which alt you choose at it can be very risky

Well, Bitcoin is more scarce and has a much higher value and has a better potential to replace gold as a store of vallue. Ripple on the other had, just like IOTA or any other "low fees, fast transactions" coin with greater supply have more chances in becoming the day-to-day transaction instrument.

It is not possible to predict what will happen exactly however. Bitcoin is slowly adapting the technologies from others and developing some on it's own but it will still remain scarce (considering the world market needs), and Ripple is troublesome. The whole idea behind crypto was to replace/avoid the centralisation that we have nowdays and Ripple is centralised and arguably controled by banking sector which means the situation would remain same as it is today only with one more/better tool for bankers/creditors.

Ripples are now impressing us due to its surprising price hike recently and we can say that it is a good coin for investing. But even how outstanding Ripples are, this still not a valid reason to set aside Bitcoins.

In the end, I still choose btc becauase it is timeless and has a very strong foundation that you can rely on. It's true that it encounters unexpected dips sometimes but it surely recovers unlike some alts who have lesser chances of recovery.

If your premise is 2-5 years, which is I think a long term investment,  I would choose bitcoin, not only because it's safer, but because it has the chance to give you higher return. Ripple, although, it's increasing is just in its starting up stages, where its value is not pretty big, therefore, it would be better for a short term invest because it still has a long way to go and a lot of things to experience, unlike bitcoin, which is somewhat a little more established in the cryptocurrency market.

My vote is also for something new. You know, same thing happened when I was looking for my future better half. At some point you consider all "options" that you have and then you realise that you probably haven't met her yet. So, it will probably be something completely new and take us by surprise. If you think about it more deeply - all those big ones out there have at least some technological problems. Yes, they can be solved, but is it easier to fix something or to build from scratch? So maybe a new coin will come with a completely new team, or it will be some experienced crypto developers trying something new.

This abomination is being pumped by some bank money to create an ANTI bitcoin. (or to buy all the bitcoin later on the trip)

vs Bitcoin the coin that has been created in a direct response as an ANTI bank transaction system by mr Satoshi. He labeled the genesis block with the text: “03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks.”. Bitcoin was meant to be an alternative to our current financial system.

That might be the initial cause for which bitcoin came into existence, but users here doesn't give importance to avoid banking. Majority of the users focus on profiting, so I don't think that ripple is shitty centralized and won't benefit the user community. Bitcoin is all about trust and surely the decentralized functioning will grow bigger than ripple.

That is a very good point. Bitcoin was developed primarily because after the recent world financial crisis, which was basically a cash-flow crisis, something new was needed as it became obvious that the current instruments used for payment for goods and services were not sufficiently efficient.

Pure allocation (creating more poor and rich, destroying the "middle class") and very inefficient system of money creation - money being either issued by private banks which creates a system that can be sustained only by loaning more money in order to cover the holes/minuses in the budget (actually it can be covered by surplus in the foreign trade, but only if we observe individual countries, not world as a whole), or "printed" by Governments which, especially seen back in 80-es, creates hyperinflation - demanded a new system.

Blockchain was the answer to that. Of course that banks can use the blockchain as well, but banks have already shown to us that they are not a good regulator of money circulation.

True, if you have a huge money why not invest in this two promising coin.
But, if your still need to choose among this two coin, then its still better if you gonin bitcoin.
Bitcoin come first and also built it reputation and trust of the investors.
It was also the main coin so far, so it was the one who have the high price in the market.

Its become big only because centralised entities joining in amex and other. Cryptocurrencies created not for centralised economy. The vision is clear bitcoin created for people so people can control their own money.

Bitcoin is the true decentralized coin and I believe in it.. But do you guys think it can find a way to improve its really expensive fees today? I also think twice about sending payments due to how long it takes to send payments. Still hope it will have a fix for this though.

I will choose bitcoin. In the long run, bitcoin is the best investment. XRP this month is a really crazy growth and I don't think this will last long. For a long time, XRP was only suitable for short-term investments. BTC, ETH, LTC are investment options for a long time!

BTC and ETH will last forever... while I'm not really sure about XRP in a long run... don't forget that XRP is a centralized coin...

yup, that's the ugly truth about XRP... that makes me feel insecure to spend my investment money into XRP

Ripple has risen too high recently, now new investment whether that be late!

I'll go with ripple. Why?

- fast transactions
- small fees
- real life implementation
- affordable price for whole unit (psychological effect, it's better to have 1 whole coin over 0.00001, even if the second one is way more valuable)

The poll is clearly saying that the crypto community is still made up of people who are mostly supportive of Bitcoin more than any alternate cryptocurrency. This goes out to say that Bitcoin will still be the ruling crypto. Bitcoin doubled the the votes of the second. This will serve as an assurance to people in here that Bitcoin has a very strong and soling community of supporters behind it and that it will not easily succumb to any FUDs and negative comments about it. I for one voted for Bitcoin. The reason is simply that it is still the number one.

how if we still choose bitcoin as the main coin and we use ripple as the secondary coin. I mean we use ripple to pay something, trading, or other things that bitcoin do and then we are withdrawn using ripple too. bitcoin is for collecting our wealth and if we are run out of ripple, we can buy with our bitcoin and of course, we can get a lot of ripple because the price is still cheap. I think this sounds good, we have fast transaction and fast time confirming, we have a big giant coin which is bitcoin and we can save our money in bitcoin too.

Well im definitely agree with you buddy. Bitcoin is still the best and most profitable coin in the cryptocurrency so far. Even if you hold it for a long term im sure it will still give you a great profit. Unlike ripple, yes it is true that ripple is in good term for now. But we cant say what will happen the next day, what if ripple fall down ?  No one can say, but in bitcoin  I believed that it can stay and continue to improve for the better.

There's no need to ask if there's a way between ripple and bitcoin. We know that XRP is centralized while bitcoin isn't and XRP has banks that is supporting it so it's up to the people who are avid investors of cryptocurrencies on who will be they supporting. Wise investors doesn't go with centralization and will just dump off their XRP just like what's happening now, bitcoin will always take the lead.

Ripple cannot replace bitcoin as the dominant coin and I don't think it even have that capacity. I just view it performance for the past few days and I findout that it has getting a dump of about 50% in just two days. If you'll about to choose only 1 then bitcoin for sure. It's a sure profit and while it's on dip, keep on buying because after this dip it will rise again.

But why choose only bitcoin, diversify and have them both.

In any case, in the event that you will think about those coins, bitcoin will at present the ruler and ripple will simply wound up like a younger sibling of bitcoin. As far as value, I figure ripple couldn't outperform the cost of the bitcoin. Indeed, even today at various trade, bitcoin is as yet the main regarding value, volume and market capitalization. Those dealers is simply getting a charge out of the soaring cost of ripple, however for me Bitcoin is as yet the best of all. As you can see, do ripple reach more than $3 again?

Ripley is a centralized crypto currency. It is controlled by bankers. We can not trust them in this matter.

Today,I don't trust ripple because of artifically created price,Which is the basis of suspicion.Despite the fact,I think,In this situation traders can earn normal profit from it,Short-term trading can be  lucrative at this moment,Because there are good news for Ripple owners and people don't stop buying this,They hope that price will be very high,They don't care that this coin is centralized... Monegram has just announced that they have contracts with ripple and trying to integrate with it,Wich I think will be determinant of price rising,Because Moneygram is one of the famous financial sector in the world.

Ripple is the bankers coins which is the opposite of Bitcoin. The point of Bitcoin is to be decentralized and be your own bank. Cryptocurrencies allow people to do peer to peer transfers which eliminates bank involvement. What do banks do? Charge you a lot more interest than they give you. Also, leaving your fiat in a bank account robs your of your hard earned labor by inflation. Yeah, it feels so good to be trapped in a 15-30 mortgage and pay 3-4 times the amount you borrowed, doesn't it?

Research what "Mortgage" means? Latin words meaning: Mort = Death, Gage = Pledge. Debt until Death is what it means. It gets worse though. Even if you are able to pay off your mortgage before you die, if you don't pay your property taxes, the government will take the property from you. So in essence, you are only renting from the government for life.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/government

1 : the act or process of governing; specifically : authoritative direction or control

Actually it's not even a true currency ...yet... but that's another story. XRP exists natively within the Ripple protocol as a counterparty-free currency, as Bitcoin does on the Blockchain. ... Not dependent on any third party for redemption, XRP is the only currency in the Ripple network that does not entail counterparty risk, and it is the only native digital asset. It;s a bridge currency in a very similar manner to bitcoin. Yes it's not POS or POW but uses consensus protocol.... and?

Most coins listed under the crypto umbrella have less reason to be considered under that umbrella. XRP is being adopted as the darling crypto of the financial sector. That interest is what gives value to XRP and I still don't get why you think it shouldn't be listed as a crypto when you look at most other crypto coins listed?

Lol...sure. Even taking into account circulation supply and the price it's still small versus the amount of money a platform like ripple can save the financial sectors in transaction fees. We are talking hundreds of billions of dollars every year being moved around the world by moneygram, swift, amex, visa, ecommerce payment providers, government, central banks ...the list is endless. Sometimes these transaction fees (and associated fees) can add up to 25% of the cost... Ripple reduces these costs by an enormous margin. If you still don't think that ripple is worth it's price...,move along why everyone invested keeps making money..and don't forget that they can burn coins if they need to. It doesn't take a maths genius to work out what will happen to ripple's price then.

In additional bitcoin still sustain the benefits of all users. thats why until now many people choose the bitcoin rather than ripple. Bitcoin and Ripple have conflicting approaches to cryptocurrency. Where Bitcoin’s decentralized approach means anyone can use it for whatever they feel like, Ripple is marketing its cryptocurrency as an asset transfer solution for major calculations. The company touts more than 100 customers, with more than 75 of those clients deploying Ripple commercially.
If you have bitcoin, then it will not be taken away from you! but what about Ripple?

It is not correct to compare them. Bitcoin is the basis of the crypto currency, and Ripple is one of the promising coins that can lose competition to many others. If you ask about who will grow more, then this is another matter. Here it is not so clear, I think that the ripple can grow more.

At the end of the day, ripple is still a centralized coin and does not have the spirit of decentralization/crypto. It represents the exact system Bitcoin is attempting to replace. For this reason I'd choose BTC.
Exactly the point I will choose Bitcoin to. Ripple seems to have a great team. But it certainly lacks the spirit we all go for I think.

see this example - if ripple falls to 0.20$ or 0.10$ then only ripple holders will be affected , and other altcoins will not be affected at all .

but if btc movement go down then entire market will go down and that is sure thing ..

so it shows why btc is called king of crypto .

It is still hard for ripple to overtake bitcoin and it might take time before it happen. In order to take the lead from bitcoin, ripple must try to overtake ethereum again and try to stay in no.2 spot. The demand for ripple should surge many times to be able to match bitcoin demand. And no, don't just state the usual FUD comments such as  'it's centralised', 'Ripple owns 60% of coins', 'it's a bankers platform', 'it's tech can be stolen' ' it's not a true currency' blah blah blah. Bitcoin Will always stand against any other Altcoin ! so Buy And Hold BTC ! XRP is not comparable with Bitcoin ,
XRP could be back to 0.5$ soon as XRP is not gaining its value since it was pumped .
So bitcoin will be best choice

Happy Trading

Yes and pool shows the most votes are bitcoin, I choose both cause it has different unique potential and also has its own advantages but its better ripple cause it can pump up to x10 or x100 with a small dominant value so it can freely whale come but this is not easy time very long time to achieve it, long term investment.

It depends , but as of now this two coin decreasing price.  If we are talking about the profit I suggest to buy ripple because the price is very cheap and for sure once the price increase you can make a lot of profit.  You can gain profit in bitcoin but not like in ripple because it's hard to double the price because it's very high even the price decrease.  Unless ripple cheap price it easy the price become 100 times.

Ripple is nowhere in the picture of even competing with bitcoin. It's decentralized and many more projects just like ripple are about to come.

Bitcoin will always lead everybody. The place of btc on top being the first coin and lead the altcoins will always happen.

For me bitcoin, bitcoin still the king of all cryptocurrencies.
Most exchanges use bitcoin us the universal trading currency, which lead to many investors buying and selling bitcoin to buy and sell altcoin.

Crown Prince Alois of German-speaking Central European landlocked microstate Liechtenstein told CNBC that the family, of which his father the Prince Hans Adam II technically remains in power but with whom for all intents and purposes power resides, is exploring other asset classes, including bitcoin, to fix their wealth woes.
“It could be interesting, I think particularly the whole blockchain technology is very interesting,”

: “I think one has to see that it’s a that’s a very risky asset class — if it’s an asset class. But bitcoin  will change a lot of areas, a lot of businesses in the future.”

for now, I think it is better to invest in bitcoin only because the price is at the lower price and if we have money then we can buy a whole 1 bitcoin. but ripple could a good choice too as the price is to follow to get down and you can buy now if you want. besides ripple, you have many options to buy the coins and I hope that you don't miss this chance to buy as much coin as you can.

Ripple has a great future in my opinion. High potential to increase in near future. Range from 10$ to 20$ before the end of 2020.
Investment-wise i would choose Ripple over Bitcoin also because the price of Ripple is not yet that high and you can buy more compare to bitcoin where the price is already high that volatility could make you lose big amount of money. Imagine if you buy 100  Ripple now for $100 then forget about it for 5 years. After 5 years, each Ripple would value $1k because that is an attainable price of a coin. What a profit then.  :P

Come on, Ripple is a dead coin already and the Bitcoin is the foundation of all cryptocurrency. We even can't compare that coins. The Ripple is better in one way -- the transaction fee is much lower and the speed of transaction is higher.

Ripple will be favored by the banks so i think it has less risk than bitcoin.
It does not matter if ripple is favored by banks what it matters is which crypto is going to be used by a normal person around the world and the leading candidate for that is bitcoin, ripple is not close in that race against bitcoin and that is why if you are going to invest your money in a coin for the long term the right choice needs to be bitcoin.

agreed, people nowadays do not look into the opinion of the banks that much because we know in this community that they just want to control the trading of cryptocurrency along with governments. I believe bitcoin is still favored by a lot of traders since this is the first one who made an impact to the whole world if this crypto breaks down i think that's the end of crypto trading ( though it will not happen for me  ;D).

Earning extra money isn't just a simple profit aside of fiat, but with bitcoin investments all your asset can be the great opportunity to have. Ripple was just am alt of bitcoin, and the posibility would take more years to go before it will compete as bitcoin does for decades. Having those opportunity with alts towards bitcoin is always an advantage, because selling your assets which is your alts can give you great profit if you hold it when price increase on both bitcoin and altcoins value.

the ripple price has fallen very much in the last month and I believe that this is fair, it should not go beyond 1 dollar, there are many other coins that should have more value than ripple, given their technology and idea

Bitcoin also bearish very low last time so they are the same bearish happen.

Of course XRP. Bitcoin is too slow and expensive it also takes high fees.
Core developers fighting against other developers instead of focusing on work.

Ripple will be more decentralized by the end of the year than butcoin and etherium

Ripple because it will continue to grow. If XRP just gets half of the % it did in 2017 then we see a massive opportunity and we see massive recognition of banks governments and regulators worldwide.
Be ready for paradigm shift. ;)

But I hope bitcoin will live long but I believe until now it's food to buy and you gain more profit if the price increase more.

Ripple the price is very cheap that's why you can gain more profit from that and for sure possible you become rich if you invest to ripple coin a thousands of dollars.

It's up to you what is better is either bitcoin or ripple. Make a research to know it.

I would not choose between XRP and Bitcoin and hold both for long term and accumulating from trading other altcoins.

As far as XRP is concerned I have identified several support levels where we can add to positions.

At this moment #XRP testing again Support 1.

We can invest around 3 % of your BTC bank at every Support levels in case of breaking down Support 1.
3%X4 supports=12% (will be invested in XRP in case of reaching all Supports)

You can look at XRP chart down below to get more explicit picture or just follow my Telegram Channel for more TA: https://t.me/crypto_workshop

For now only Ripple is good for your investment. Recently, the Indian based bank IndusInd Bank adopted Ripple to solve its cross-border remittances. And, Till the end of year almost all of the bank in the world will adopt this. You could see the price as like ETH today.

There's nothing to think about. Ripple is not a crypto coin at all. And it is not decentralized, and most (60%) are from one owner. Only Bitcoin!

I agree with this one I don't know why are many people out there comparing bitcoin to ripple maybe fundamentally speaking ripple was better than bitcoin but fundamentally but how can you support a coin that is centralized that we all know can be controlled to powerful people out there? I'm still choosing bitcoin even if ripple was better fundamentally because I am really tired of centralized system.

Many do not care about anything else but the profits, and even if ripple has a strong connection with banks they are still buying the coin, this is just the way it is and we must accept things as they are but there is no doubt in my mind that out of the two bitcoin is the clear superior choice if you want to invest for the long term.

Yes, i agree with you, bitcoin has best long term potential but the Ripple currently having a low value, it has greater growth potential and therefore earns a lot of money but I don't think the Ripple is a good investment in the long term, but rather in the short/medium term

I think both Bitcoin and ripple are very capable platform and both can show tremendous amount of growth in the coming years. Bitcoin is the master of all cryptocurrency and it is, without any doubt the most popular crypto available in the market. You can expect it's price to hit 30000$ by end of this year for sure. Ripple on the other hand, is a payment protocol which can truly revolutionize the current banking scenario. Diversifying your investment between these two can help you earn huge amounts of profits.

Bitcoin, always. XRP (Ripple is the enterprise behind the coin, and the name of the coin is XRP instead of Ripple) is not even considered the "same" as other crypto, for it is leaded by a private company and is centralized. Now, even when XRP can have profits itself, I believe for long term is much better bitcoin. My thoughts are based not only in the love we all have for the first crypto, the king, and the responsible  for all this "crypto fever", but also because when you take a look to the news (over all them talking about governments regulations), you will always read the word "Bitcoin". So, Bitcoin is on the talking of the governments all over the planet. That's mean: it is going to become an important part of the global economy pretty soon.
Big companies are talking about accept BTC as a paydment system, and, at the same time, the production of them is becoming lower and lower. So, there is going to be a time where (probably) will be a part of the economy, will be used by many and will be more and more desired for many, while there are going to be the same of them on the global market.
So, to me, BTC is one (if not the best) investment for long term.

imho ripple is creating a bubble which will burst sometime in the future. Can't say when, not even sure that it'll happen. It's just based on my personal ideas about banking system. BTC on the other hand, even though is limited when it comes to potential, it is still most used and most valued cryptocurrency and it'll stay like this for a long time. Ethereum may surpass BTC in the near future but not Ripple.

All depends. Sure Ripple has legs to go further, but surely its not a real crypto as it works with the banks, not replacing them. Sure I see Bitcoin can easily go up 100% or more in 2018. Easy to double your money, or day trade for real swing gains. How about have a look at some privacy coins like DeepOnion and Zoin. Surely these could bring in more % growth. Or check out Neo for maybe 200%+ increase in 2018.

In the next two year, bitcoin will still dominates the whole cryptocurrency world but ripple will also continue to gain more growth as many banks will be availing the service of this coin. Bitcoin has still a lot of rooms to grow and there are many all-time highs coming in the near future. The mainstreams adoption will also keep the bitcoin on top as many merchants will later use bitcoin.

I do not agree with you because at a certain angle, I still underestimate the ripple, the value of ripple is too low and the whales are very easy to accumulate, that makes the pump slower, it will last longer, investing in the ripple will not be a wise idea. Bitcoin is definitely better than ripple because it is a character that mediates between the altcoin, people need to buy it before they want to buy altcoin, that makes Bitcoin more valuable, and the amount of bitcoin is decreasing over time, it will have more opportunities to reach higher values when it becomes scarce

I think bitcoin will still come out strong in 3 to 5 years from now,
it's become so much of a rising and very promising commodity.
Bitcoin's market value will continue to increase until it stabilizes.
Bitcoin is a solid currency, reaching $20k is not an easy feat and no
currency rivals bitcoin in that area. It lasted this long and it will last a
bit more longer. Ripple is a currency that has been struggling and has
also potential, but it seems to lack the strong and unique aspects that
is exceedingly illuminated from coins such as Bitcoins and Ethereum.
Bitcoin will last and reign as long as people and investors will continue
to support and circulate them. It's an innovation that will outlast
and survive.

Ripple gives a huge profit if for the investment of up to five years. bitcoin ever actually also the same but if you have to buy a bitcoin with large numbers currently don't have enough capital. so the ripple with a capital of $1000 already get quite a lot and be able to get great results in five years.

Be ready for paradigm shift. ;)
Buy now or cry later
Ripple is nothing more than a Trojan horse of the banks, between bitcoin and ripple the choice is easy bitcoin should be the coin we choose, ripple may give you profits that is right but bitcoin is the best coin overall at the same time your characterization of the bitcoin devs as just fighting other coins is completely mistaken since they are doing their best to improve bitcoin and its protocol.

If Bitcoin breaks down, the entire crypto world might also come into rubble. That is what are seeing right now. If Bitcoin is suffering, the rest of the altcoin world will also be suffering. But of course, I will also be saving some Ripple. This is one of the best altcoins.

Ripple price for today is $0.33352, with the third largest market capitalization of $13,224,006,420, while Bitcoin price for today is $7002.10225, with the highest market capitalization of $120,724,470,251. By this we can come to know that no cryptocurrency can beat BTC by its price.

XRP is one of the fastest growing cryptocurrencies which managed to be the top 3 cryptocurrencies in such a short span. Holding BTC is regarded as an asset worthy because of BTC’s acceptance and popularity. But you should look thoroughly in the XRP to BTC chart, before taking any decision of trading and must check how much 1 XRP to BTC cost in the XRP to BTC (https://coinswitch.co/coins/ripple/ripple-to-bitcoin) converter, which is currently 0.00004763 BTC. I will give my vote all the same for bitcoin, a worthy currency, which changes over time, though sometimes not for the better, but has already overcome many obstacles that cooperate his life.

I would go with both. They are not competitors, and both have a great chance of being successful, bitcoin as the 'face' of crypto and as a store of value, and XRP as an innovative cross-border payments solution. For those who want to diversify, but remain within crypto, the ideal solution is go for both.

100% Bitcoin.

Ripple is centralized and not close-sourced. They announced partnership with banks and all the traditional financial institutions in the earlier days. But now theres no news, and some banks even denied partnership with them.

Unless Ripple open up and be more transparent, the only place for them in the crypto ecosystem is in either private chains or enterprise.

To compare the potential of Ripple and Bitcoin . My opinion is that Bitcoin crypto in the future will grow faster and have more significant potential than Ripple. Because the Bitcoin is supported by Google, the number one search engine in the world at the moment. Indeed, Google sees the Bitcoin as potential crypto, so it decides to support the crypto.
