Yup many new emerging coins are shit coins.A good coin can be identified as
1. Having specific idea
2. Well defined white paper
3. Well experienced development team.
4. Well defined website having all the related information
5. High adoptibility by the community.
If you find the above mentioned qualities in an Altcoin then you should invest in it.

Only 3 I look for, others what many scam coins also have, if they are even not able to prepare a good whitepaper they can do nothing.

I disagree with 90% been scam
Altcoins are beautiful to own, as long as you purchase wisely and avoids cheap and enticing ICOs (that could be damaging)

To get good altcoins
look into their project, their team their waveform
The market as well as their durability ( what the project is all about)

All in all
Trade wisely

- Look for cryptocurrency for less than a dollar.
- Check the cryptocurrency website to rate the most promising coins.
- Check Reddit to find out which coins have the community.
- View cryptocurrency from Supply versus and maximum supply.
- Check the graphs of cryptocurrency and price charts.

I think the perfect way to go about it is Act like a venture capitalist.

You should invest in a lot of projects with the low expectation from investors or news or any website. However, it's that one or two home runs that pays for all the investments plus some.

Look for coins that haven't had a bunch of news, that have low market caps, active (verifiable) development and accessible team members.

In fact, it is not so easy to determine a quality project. According to statistics, last year, about 48% of the ICO project was a Scam. Therefore, you need to carefully analyze the project and pay attention to the project team, study technical documentation, check the legal part, the idea of the project. Assess how adequate funds they want to collect, and in General assess the prospects of the idea. The work is not easy, but will save at least your money

There is a number of different use cases out there. You could learn about those and then check, which projects are active in that space. There is even a number, that are making good money already. Walton I have never held but always springs to my mind on that occasion. Or Wabi or Factom and so on. Do your own research and then spread money to your 3 favourite projects for a start. It might also not hurt to add some Neo and Ethereum to your portfolio.

You ask for suggestions from good senior cryptonians to find the remaining 10%.

Although I believe some 20% coins are definitely real and visionary. So here is my short-list for you (DYOR prior to buying)

a. EOS
b. LTC
c. PRG
d. XRP
e. TAU
f. ARK

Several rules to start with:

1. If you see a lot of bots spamming the forum with some coin, it is not what you are looking for, move along. That's not how a good marketing is done.
2. If you see tons of complimentary messages in a coin telegram group, but no lively discussion, make sure all who write these messages are not just bounty/airdrop participants who perform this task to get paid. Leave some of them a PM and ask whether they are investors or just bounty hunters. If none of them answers you, then they are probably bots, not real people. So move along again.

You should be looking for top alt coins. They have a very good development and a strong community. They also have a huge trade volumes on reputed exchanges. Read the whitepaper. Good alt coins will offer good features. Shit alt coins are just clones of other coins.

You have to do a lot of research in order to know what is a scam:

1. Look at the idea (does it make sense? if yes, go to point 2)
2. Look at the team (do they have linkedin profiles? are they legit? Do they have experience, that is needed is this area? If yes go to point 3
3. Look at the token metrics (how much are they raising? maybe they ask too much? If their hardcap is good go to point 4
4. Ask for a MVP
5. Read the whitepaper
6. Invest

There are currently many ICO scam campaigns, which are followed by altcoins that are not worth the cryptocurrencies in the market. So to find a good altcoin, you need to analyze in detail the potential of the project, the project team and, in particular, the country in which it was created, the purpose and potential of the ICO, etc. There are many factors, and you need to find out to avoid altcoins and ICO scam.

This is my procedure.

1. Check the quality of website
2. Check the white paper
3. Check the team and their Linkdin profiles
4. Check whether the token distribution is fair or not
5. Check the code in github.
6. Check whether the project have a working prototype of the product.
7. Check whether the blockchain is  essential to the project or not.

Not saying you should do it, on the contrary i believe that such projects should be avoided and certainly not supported by the community as it harms it all at once.

That said.

A scammy altcoin doesnt mean you can't get some profit out of it.

Bitconnet was a huge ponzi scam, everybody knew it.

But still tons of people made a LOT of money with it.

If you're in it at the bad time ... well you just got ripped.

To find a decent asset or coin must look at the past of the project
If it is new project , take a look on team , must be strong with good background and passionate about the project , are they clear what they are doing or building ? , what are their strength , and then think are they reliable with that kind of project , Do a good research you will get the results , and take a look on Apex (cpx) , you will thank me later ;)

The best and easiest way to find good altcoin is to look at the chart of top altcoins. In top altcoins chart we can see those altcoins who are best in stability because of their technology that has good functions and purposes in the community. Those top altcoins are proven and tested that they can stay and rise at the market. I prefer at ethereum, litecoin, neo, dash, ripple and monero for me they are the best to invest with.

several checks have been carried out on how to determine real altcoins which is offcourse the coin on ico. they should be on the token market and also they should be on ico rating websites as they have a way of checking before publishing them.

You are absolutely right! There are really some non-potential coins but if you did able to get in on earlier time and then suddenly rise up then it would really benefit you as an investor.Finding a good altcoin is somehow hard as an investor we do have that common goal but doesn't mean we should not look out into some coins which will really make some profits, even though it is not good for long term but though considerable for shorter terms.

Ohh, such huge percentage really give doubts to the people to  invest in crypto but I don't think that it is correct. I may think that all coins listed in different exchanger isn't scam, and considering their numbers it could be possible that it is more than 10% legit as you have said.
Maybe we can say that 90% ICOs are scam not altcoins.

Title: Re: How to find a good altcoin?

We do have a lot of criterias on choosing the a good project or good ICO/Altcoins but for me I choose a altcoin with this criteria below:
1. The use of the coin.
2. The projects whitepaper (If it's possible or it's just a dream)
3. The legitimacy of every team so if the project ended up being a scam you should know the name of the members (But make sure that it's really them)
4. The roadmap, If they achieve it on time
5. An update for their meetings from time to time (Providing pictures, videos, etc.)
6. Do your own research, find some reviews online etc.

Well this is just what I'm looking for whenever I invest into altcoins/ICO's. This is not guaranteed though because sometimes even they meet my standards they ended up being a scam.

Conclusion: Investing to projects is risky even we set a high requirements/criteria it may ended up being a scam because the scammers are also evolving, how they will get participants, detailed whitepaper, roadmap, etc. so invest only what you can afford to lose.

In my opinion, the team of a project is very important in the success of an altcoin project. because although there is a good idea, without a team running the roadmap, for me it will be useless. so find a team that really can work well able to build everything like technology, marketing and others.

what is the really meaning of the "Altcoin" here ?
is that the coin that already listed on a big exchanges or its that still in the PreICO/ICO/Sale Stage ?

you just can't judge to the altcoin that almost of them are scam, we can see from whole population of the world, how many percentage that interested on cryptocurrency like this ? and compare it with all of the altcoin (at least on a trusted exchanges).
one people just can't focus on all of those altcoin.

the way i find a good alts are by seeing them directly on Coinmarketcap or just asking to my local group, sometimes they share experience if they ever enter to those alts, just seeing the whitepaper, projects, website, for me its still not enough.

It's funny how you came up with the 90% of altcoins are scams.  If you really think it's that high of a percentage to be scammed, why even invest in altcoins.  You've already made up your mind.  Why take the risk if there's only a 10% chance you'll end up with a good project.

Specially on those top of the list those altcoins are considered to have a good background about of their projects. All you have to do is to do some research to each and everyone so will be sure on your investment. I wonder where are those scammed altcoins goes since i can't see them on the list.

There are few things to consider to say that some coin are worth investing and to know if they are now scam and consider them a good altcoin. First you have to take a look and read all of them or just read those coins you wished to invest. They are the good ones to read and to consider that the purpose and objectives of the coins. You should know by then that it is legit or not.

In my opinion, I would rather look for an altcoin that is already in the crypto market, at least it's been there for quite sometime and you can study the coin performance on the price history record. This is much safer than investing new ICO coin which you don't yet it's performance in the market since it's new.

Find the active project and team . Try to look into website and white paper. Lots of new coins like IOST, EOS,TRX ,ADA really making good in market. Most of the coins are failed to meet the roadmap . Even some are not active in social media. Before investing any new coin find telegram group and see conversation and teams support.

In terms of ICO. 6 out 20 ICO I've working gave their rewards and 6 alternative coins I have, 2 of them is legit and 4 are all shit coins. Which never been to exchanges.haha
So, I feel you.
Those 2 alt coins I have are:
1. IOSToken - legit token and good one, my token price value now goes up to 17%. So, I believing to this token that will grow more.
2. HBZ - will be listing this coming april 26, 2018. So, I don't know if this is good as IOSToken.

We can't determine if altcoin is good or scam. We will find out at the exchanges my friend. If you're token not listed to exchanges, that was scam and if that token is listed and dump, it wasn't good coin. And if your token increase like my IOSToken, means that your altcoins have a future :)

This is exactly what I tend to check before investing into any coin or token in the market. Proper research leads to safer investments majority of the time in this extremely volatile crypto market. Whitepaper is what I first look at before focusing on other factors like development team, team communication skills, roadmap etc. I tend to analyse the whitepaper carefully before continuing with my research.

This is a gamble worth taking in my opinion. There are some amazing opportunities that arise on a regular basis in this market. You simply need to find them through research and luck also plays a key role here.

Look for cryptocurrency for less than a dollar. That's important for several reasons. One of them is a price under a dollar creates the illusion that kriptocurrency is "cheap," especially for investors with less funds to invest. Smaller numbers can be easier to get double and triple than larger amounts. and it proved to be more of a profit-making system.

Scammers now are more than great looking than those legit, they can even pretent more than what a true ico is,even the team itself had been impersonating..thats why this days what we need is follow our instincts and make a little research this is enough to find good coin to invest..a

And its depend on how you want to use the coin if you want for long term holding or day trading, those fast moving coins is good for daytrading while those slow moving is for long term

- look at the coin forum discussions like what the track record ny

First, find an active, growing project and a well-known development team. Read the information on the site, in thematic reviews of experts, carry out a thorough study. Many new coins now have good chances, for example, IOST, EOS.

Advisors and major partners are also very important in the evaluation of the project. I often look at the opinions of other people and bloggers about this project, it helps to make me a generalized opinion.

Beta testers needed to help test Jarvis, Marinecoìn’s artificial intelligence engine.  The initial stages of the ico will be primarily beta testing the AI system.  Jarvis is coordinating the equitible distribution of 9 billion -MTC- during the ico.  Proof of Promotion is being used rather than POW or POS systems.  Here they reward each successful test of Jarvis with 20,000 -MTC- per 24 hours.  So you can collect 20,000 -MTC- for helping to beta test the system.  20,000 daily adds up fast believe me. Artificial intelligence is using fair distribution to the community. Marine coin is perfect for machine to machine IioT.  More info here.  marineco.ìn/ico

In 2017, many companies used ICO to issue digital tokens to finance. These digital token models are similar to Bitcoin, and companies can use their exchange funds to conduct business. According to data from CoinMarketCap.com, the total amount of funds raised through ICO last year has exceeded 4 billion U.S. dollars, and there are currently more than 1,400 "altcoins" circulating on the market.
However, issues such as the feasibility of some ICO projects and the lack of regulatory protection of investors have attracted attention. Tezos is a typical example. Last year, the company claimed to build a more efficient blockchain and successfully raised US$232 million, but it was finally put on hold because of corporate infighting and legal disputes. Investors were also told that they could not get a refund.

Well, searching for reliable altcoins that can bring great profit, I follow next steps:
1) Read the whitepaper. The more details it has, the better!
2) Learn whether the project represents only an abstract idea without any groundwork or has a beta-version of the future product. The second point guarantees that the team won't stop developing their project as they have already made great efforts.
3) The team is also very important. If a project has an experienced team, the results will be amazing!
4) The last but not the least, the project must have a very specific and unique idea!
Great idea rules! ;D

I agree with you, actually investing in cryptocurrencies and other Initial Coin Offerings / ICO's is highly risky and speculative. Each individual's situation is unique and has own standard to review altcoins. The white paper should be comprehensive, expertise and experienced team in the industry, excellent sign cryptocurrency is to be listed on an exchange ( FIAT exchange would be great) and a crucial indicator is a community, good project always update their project on their social media. Not any guarantee for good altcoins so beware on your investment.

I suggest firstly looking into the team that is the back bone of any project. Then see how far they whent in their promises and work that tells a lot about the projects future succes and the propobility of not failing. Most ICO's have a great idea but it's rare that they make it happen. It's really good to ask other people for their opinion on the project you might learn some thing new every time. I found a project called lympo and I am sure it's a winner and would like your input on it :)

In order to find a good altcoin, you have to practice your due diligence. You should take the time and research properly and thoroughly every potential prospect you have.
The choice of choosing a good altcoin will be entirely subjective, depending upon each person's tastes and financial acquisitions. What is good for the goose, isn't necessarily good for the gander!
In order to help you make the best decision that you can make, according to your own tastes and acquisition, you must take the time and evaluate your stance on investing, your budget as well. What is your goal for investment, is it for long term, or short term gains, etc.

Find and Research ICOs

It was shocking to find out how many ICOs were happening almost simultaneously. How do you pick which token to buy? Even if you can analyze a white paper that goes with each ICO, how do you decide what white papers to read? You can’t possibly read all of them.
Below is a list of questions that will help you:

Basic Concept

Can you understand the value of the token at least in theory?
Is it easy to explain and understand?

Team

Who is the behind the company?
Does the team consist of real people?
    What are their backgrounds?
    Where are they located?

Interest or Hype

What is their hype rating on ICO Drops?
How many people do they have in their Telegram channel and other social media channels?

The first step for me to find a good altcoin is to check the cryptocurrency website to assess the most promising coins. In terms of checking their potential to be adopted as our preferred coin, this method can be used to estimate the intrinsic value of each coin, once it reaches the level adoption, using the quantity theory of money. Next look at supply versus and maximum supply. The crypto tends to increase with increasing demand, because fewer coins are in supply, chances are the price will also increase.

Sometimes the progress are delayed but it depends on how big the mission of a certain project you are investing.

Investing is possible and necessary, but be sure to study the transparency of the team, its experience, whether the project has minimal chances for development, which ICOs have already been implemented.

Here is my checklist, when I am studying an altcoin:

1) Whitepaper, does it exist, does it solve a fundamental Problem
2) Is it a Protocol on its  own, or is it just a token based on an existing platform
3) Potential Network effects
4) Transparency of Team. Real faces, what have been existing steps in professional life
5) Community. Already in place, how active, just bounty hunter or good conversation about different concepts
6) Marketing, only focussing on token sale or active Management of different communication channels
7) How many coins in circulation, currently and in future

I think personally, There are a number of different use cases out there. You can learn about it and then check which projects are active in that space. You should invest in many projects with low expectations from investors or any news or website. View cryptocurrency from Supply versus and maximum supply. Check the cryptocurrency graphs and price charts.

Choosing a good project for investment is a very difficult task, for this you need to spend a lot of time studying projects. It is necessary to do it yourself, because in this case it is better not to rely on someone else's opinion. It is necessary to study all available information about the project.

It is pretty hard. You have to go through all the details of the project. The aim of the project, the team of the project, the community of the project. Good projects are like DAOstack, LOOM Network, fusion. :)

The Altcoin market is diversified and rich. I used my knowledge and experience to select the potential Altcoin to invest as follows:
- Follow Alcoin market news
- Read the project, the quality, the website image
- Attention to technology platform, Altcoin purpose
- Specific roadmap and specific solutions for each roadmap
- Attention Dev: Experience, prestige, work attitude
- The reaction of the community ...
Each decision depends on your investment plan: Long-term investment, short-term investment, investment in the day ...

There are currently many ICO scam campaigns, which are followed by alt coins that are not worth the cryptocurrencies in the market. So to find a good alt coin, you need to analyze in detail the potential of the project, the project team and, in particular, the country in which it was created, the purpose and potential of the ICO, etc. There are many factors, and you need to find out to avoid alt coins and ICO scam.

Absolutely you are correct, 90% ICO altcoins are scam, but if you look at recent ICO's also some are successes but most of them are failed, lot of cheap altcoins are available in market, before you invest in any altcoin you should study about it, read road maps, team behind the project and their active in social medias, if you look at coinmarketcap, lot of altcoin are there, and trade volume also very important things, twitter followers, and their product success.

90% is too big IMO, but if that is true then I guess we should carefully choose what coin to invest.
Those who are in the top market that are already gaining the attention to the investor are less risky because they believe
they can grow and they have the support of the community so they'll work hard.

You should be looking for top alt coins. They have a very good development and a strong community. They also have a huge trade volumes on reputed exchanges. Read the whitepaper. Good alt coins will offer good features. Shit alt coins are just clones of other coins. ;)

Whitepaper will only give you a vague idea. And if you are not that comfortable with programming languages, then I won't expect you to understand what is written in the white-paper fully. Also, you need to find-out the deficiencies of that particular coin. For that you need to refer third party sites.

By finding a good altcoin you should watch famous youtubers if what altcoin they're hyping because they are also a big influencers on the cryptomarket. You have many things to consider also by choosing a good altcoin like if they have upcoming events, upgrade on blockchain, launching of application, new exchange to be listed. After they announce like that examples of news the value of an altcoin goes higher. In that way you can choose a good altcoin to buy.

Yes , I agree that now a lot of scammers and it is very frustrating , you need to very efficiently search for promising projects , first of all pay attention to the idea of the project ,it certainly should you like it , should pay as well your attention to the developers they should be specified necessarily , it is desirable that all the information about them was also specified , partners of this company can also be a great indicator , a well-designed website, of course full guarantee you will not give, but to reduce the risk of losing you must .

There are more coin that give potential for good profit for how many years that works until today. You have to analyze the market in the exchange and see which coin where you can put your money for good. You can trust the coin that is already listed and has been tested as many give good feedback on it. You cannot find good coin that has not been listed. You have to find which coin that popular to investors.

To assess a good altcoin it must have following qualities.
1.It should have universal application, mean to say it should have broad application not limited to specific small market.
2.It should be market oriented for example XRP is used for payment transfer purpose and attracting lot of investor for this specific quality.
3.Scalibilty issue solved mean to say high speed per transactions with zero cost. like EOS.

4.Acceptance by large corporation and communities.

Having a list of team members with experienced developers in it, the documentation and the roadmap does not guarantee that the creators will not be lost with your funds at the end of the ICO, but greatly minimizes the likelihood of such a development.

A good altcoin would have a business model that attacks a market opportunity and has great communication with its investors. With that being said, this is why I am a firm believer in OPU Labs.

Opu Labs' mission is to improve how the global skincare industry exchanges data, information, and rewards in a way that benefits patients, dermatologists, treatment centers, brand specialists, and product manufacturers. To make that happen, we’re building a suite of blockchain-based technology platforms – starting with a mobile skincare app – and a token-based ecosystem that will reward its users. To raise awareness of our technology, and to encourage participation in our ecosystem, we’ll be launching an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in July 2018.

It´s always hard to find a good altcoin. But, I think I found a pretty good one from Germany. It´s called the MILC-platform. It has the potential to change a 500 billion dollar market completely. Media professionals can use the platform to easily close their license agreements. Due to smart contracts there will be no more legal nightmares. The reason is that contracts can easily be closed and executed. Here is a short video introduction to the coin. If the link ist not permitted in this group then please delete it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOhikn_Yin8

If you have any questions about that project, please feel free to contact me!

All what is written above are so helpful in choosing a good altcoin. Just study the project carefully and observe their development. Our own instinct also might help us in our decision.

Altcoins do have dirrent platforms based on its use or purpose such as gambling altcoins, health, etc. The bottomline is that, if the platform is timely or will be interesting for a certain group of people, it would give you an assumption that it will be a good altcoin to invest. The problem on the other hand is that, there are too many altcoins to choose from so an investor should be wise.

In top alt coins chart we can see those alt coins who are best in stability because of their technology that has good functions and purposes in the community. Those top alt coins are proven and tested that they can stay and rise at the market. I prefer at ethereum, dash, neo,  ripple and monero for me they are the best to invest with.

Doing your own research is the best way. Read the white paper and analyse its strengths. Join social medias and find more information. Ask from experts. Compare the features like project concept, team, social media support, roadmap and marketcap. Then you can decide.

Yes make your own strategy and invest because now we have many altcoins in the market and most of them are shitcoins. Some altcoins are worth for only short term but if you hold it long term you will lose your money. so read the white paper and price chart You will get basic idea is that coin is worth or not based on that you can invest.

I do not think that most of altcoin are fraudulent, among altcoin there are many promising and successful projects that have brought a lot of new technologies to the crypto industry, although of course among altcoin there are also projects that are fraudulent and were developed only to raise money. To determine a good altcoin, you need to carefully study crypto projects from technical documentation to the composition of the team.

Investing in the cryptocurrency remember that this is a high-risk investment. If you make the right choice, you can provide yourself and your family for life. But you can just as easily lose almost all the investments if you make a mistake in choosing. It is extremely difficult to predict the cryptocurrency market due to a large number of rapidly developing projects and various incidents, which is why risk allocation is the best investment strategy.

In my opinion, i disagree if you say more than 90% altcoin are scam. Maybe this happen because you don't know the project you are following.
If you wanna know the good altcoin, just read whitepaper carefully. There explained about that project. If you feel the project doesn't make sense, you can leave it or look for another. That is the way to minimize 'scam project'

You need to do a classic fundamental analysis-to study the technology behind the coin or token, to understand what kind of team is behind the project, to see how the community has developed, supporting this altcoin

Actually it's really hard to find the real ico because scammers always do their best to look it realistic, just always look at the roadmap and the team they have, for me I am also looking at the manager if the manager is trusted then I go for it, but it doesn't mean that ico is depends on the managar, it is depends on their project and their hard work.

Now, when 95% of the ICOs is a real scam, it's hard to find something trustworthy, but I would recommend to pay attention to these factors: they should have a good Whitepaper, read it scrupulously, cause some ICO just steal somebody's else Whitepaper and just change the name of the project. They have to have MVP on their website, cause lots of projects like to write how cool they are, but don't have anything except these pompous words. Their employees should have profiles on Linkedin, for example, cause scammers are afraid of revealing their personality and often they whether don't have any profiles of steal somebody's photos. I was written by one scammer who had a woman's photo and man's name ;D ;D Check their groups on the different social networks, they should be active and not filled with bots and fakes. I would recommend you to pay your attention to Cryptics - forecasting platform which does use 100% AI. Their project does satisfy with all these requirements.

Finding a good altcoin might nor be easy, especially if you are looking to find one that is still in the early development stage, its almost impossible +to tell how good they will be at this point, However the first and the most important thing you should be looking at is the product the project is seeking to bring into the market. The relevance of the product to the market will determine if it will succeed or not, Otherwise, a safer investment option is investing into an altcoin that is already in the market, here its already proven and only  matter of time and the strength of its project determines its long term value

Yea I definitely don't think 90% of altcoins are a scam maybe somewhere around 25% being a scam unless by scam you mean just a shitty project with no clear objective then I think a lot of coins that come out are like that but def not 90%.

To find a good project you need to look at the team see how active the community is, read the white paper see what they plan to do and if you believe that they are going to do it. I also join the discord and/or telegram group and talk with the devs or mods directly and see if I like them if they are dicks or I just don't have a good feeling with them I don't invest. It's just like a job interview if the person hiring you just for some reason doesn't like you they aren't going to hire you same goes for me when I invest except I'm doing the interview. The most important factor is are you passionate about what they are doing does it get you excited does it inspire you if it doesn't then you don't belong in that project and move onto the next one. Remember there is always going to be another hot new project don't fomo into every project you see :)

This is very difficult to do, especially at an early stage, when it is not clear at all whether their idea will go into the world or not. Here you need to carefully study everything. Those projects that are in the top, they are likely to develop further, but no longer bring big profits.
So you need to distribute your deposit, some of the money is already in the established projects, and a part of those that just appear.
The main thing to always remember about the risks.

How about doing background and credit checks on the management teams, like angels and VCs do?

Not too up to 90% altcoin is a fraud. Let's try to put positive thoughts on altcoin even if there are altcoins that lead to deception. The problem of fraudulent altcoin is common knowledge in crypto activity, if we consider 90% fraud, then our spirit in activity in crypto will decrease. Yeah you are right. Scam coins are everywhere so, identifying which is good and which is not is a great challenge. Investors must be vigilant and wise which coin is good to inves.  For me, I prefer coins with price less than a dollar.  I also check the total number of coin supply in the market qnd the circulating number of supply.  Then, it is advisable to check the price chart to trace the price movement in the market. I also check how many trading platforms the chosen coin tradeable. Then, decide according to the result of your observation if the coin is good or not.

I think, to find a promising project, you need to constantly analyze the market, read the news, follow blogs and world news, currencies crypto. If there is social media that is active in presenting there ICO in many events around the world and you also can find a very good and promising project.

A good altcoins usually have a high price because the coin is trusted by many peoples. Many bought their coin and the price increased.
If a new coins created, you cannot know if it scan or not unless you know very well through your own researches and diligence.

We cannot really hold the fact that most of the ICOs and their altcoins are bogus and scammed so we really need to be wise and mindful in every action that we are doing. For us to find and to know a good altcoins I always look at the rating of each ICOs with a high and positive rating and also I check if they have a well-define whitepaper and also they should have an experience and experts team.

Actually there's shit coin with high price too, if the volume is too low, it can be manipulated easily, even I've seen plenty of them being used as a pump and dump tool so the high value doesnt guarantee that its a good coin.
if you want to really distinguish shit coin and good altcoin then you better analyze the overall project not only judging by the value.

A good coin must meet the following conditions
1.It should have universal application not limited to specific small markets.
2.It should be market oriented mean should have some practical usage like XRP payment transfer feature.
3.Should fill technical gap as XRP fill payment transfer facility.
4.Usability and Scalibilty improved.
5.Acceptance by large companies and communities.
These are some of the factors which may prove useful while evaluating a coin.

The most important thing in the project is the documentation, the team and the road map. Try to study it as carefully as possible.

It's the basis! The best part will be when the project enters the market and start to follow its Roadmap. Few people do, what they've promised. It doesn't depend on documents. Too many factors which can destroy all. The most important thing is luck!

Altcoins do have dirrent platforms based on its use or purpose such as gambling altcoins, health, etc. The bottomline is that, if the platform is timely or will be interesting for a certain group of people, it would give you an assumption that it will be a good altcoin to invest. The problem on the other hand is that, there are too many altcoins to choose from so an investor should be wise.

yes indeed from the number of altcoin there may be only about 50% are potentially good and will last long into the future, things that need to be done in choosing a good coin like to see:
Visi and Mission coin (future), can not deny this must be explained by dev and the traders to analyze whether it can be realized or not forward.
Total supply is usually a benchmark trader if you already know the total supply we can estimate how much the price is appropriate for the coin
this is not always right back again to No.1 but at least 7 out of 10 coins adhere to supplay for rate.
Community, if the big coin community usually coin will survive long up and down there will be but later will be stable again.

1.Whitepapler -it should be well written and goals should be realistic.
2. Team working on the ICO.
3. Return on investment and cost of the coin.
4. Hold duration.
5. Payment method.
6.Product should be in demand for the upcoming years.
7. Make sure that the team working on it were legit. If thwy lied, stay away from it. Research will be a big help.

Its easy for me. I am just knowing the signature campaign manager if i know him from the past ICO that i have joined last time. So i know how he can manage well. But not only with the manager itself but the platform of that particulat ICO if it is really feasible to happen if they can reach the particular target of sold tokens.

However, if you want to profit in the short term, the good coin is not enough, need large enough exchange, good news, good trading volume, then the new value growth.

It is important that we'll have an idea about a certain coin upon joining it to get rid of being scammed. We should do series of research first to know or have any idea about the potential of a token. We should read their white paper and follow their social media sites to read the informations and feedback about them.
