the narrative has never been "is bitcoin scam". and those who have been saying it are still saying the same and nothing has changed about them.
also the price has always been something that people were talking about. for example back in 2012-2013 onward the speculation was about bitcoin reaching $10k and people were saying it is impossible. now that that target is reached we are talking about higher prices.

A lot of people originally thought Bitcoin was a scam seeing how there are so many schemes that can take your money with nothing in return. Over time early investors have gave Bitcoin its value.

If you go research then you will find that bitcoin is not a scam. It is depends on how you used to it. For example, you are going to invest in such project that you don't sure your money will grow. It will handle by another person and that is the time that you will be scammed. If you are really want to earn more profit using bitcoin, you should be careful in many ways such as picking good project that you will investing.

I do not think the price of bitcoin is $ 60k. That is impossible, because its real value is not worth it. Bitcoin founder and CEO is still anonymous, we can not appreciate its true value. So we can not evaluate the average value of it.

Perhaps you are not investing in Bitcoin, but you are investing in coins from unspecified ICO projects that offer their coins with the lure of big bonuses. While their own coins have not been in the market.

Why do you think it's impossible to go to 60k? That makes no sense it's completely possible, (likely in 2018 that's another debate) but there's a lot of money in the world and once at least 10% of it get's into crypto 60k will seem cheap....

Bitcoin is definitely not a scam.

Well there are still plenty of "nay-sayers" out there, that still claim that bitcoin is useless and can't act neither as a currency or as a store of value (Bill Gates joined that party apparently these days), but I would agree that the majority of "important people", or basically "rich guys" with a lot of influence, are starting to see the benefits of blockchain and bitcoin itself. Indeed everyone is speculating that if 2017 was the year bitcoin hit mainstream awareness, 2018 will be the year where it will get institutional adoption.

Big companies like Circle (financial sector) or samsung (for the mining industry), or even exchanges like coinbase, are spending millions to invest in bitcoin and blockchain related infrastructures, so it would be hard to believe that they were just wasting money with these investments, so I guess that something is coming up during this year for sure.

I don't really like speculation, and all of this is of course just speculation. I do believe in bitcoin potential though, so let's wait and see.

It's defintiely interesting to see how people's perception towards bitcoin can change so quickly. It's almost like the public and the press have extremely short term memory. Previously, people were accusing bitcoin of being a scam, being a ponzi scheme, etc., as you mentioned. But now, it is really legitimized as a currency, as an investment and as a financial asset due to it going mainstream.

It's all very good news, and it's steps towards the right direction.

Well it is good that the perception of people about bitcoin changes. We, who earned bitcoin in a good way without any capital they called us a scammer because they still believe that bitcoin is a scam and there perception about us who earned bitcoin is the same the way they see bitcoin. Well this same question i made when the first introduction of my friend that teaches me this,because at that time pyramid scams and online scamming is rampant so i had no good thoughts about anything that im not familiar.

Not until i learn and entered this community and read lots of great things about bitcoin and all its altcoins thats why until now i trust and thankful about this coin

Well, bitcoin has already prove what it's worth. Media who are attacking bitcoin and questions its security already given up on that idea. This days the are all on focus on how bitcoins performs in the market in this up coming day's.

I'm glad more people trust Bitcoin now, but that reputation hasn't really disappeared yet. People seem to be forgetting that just a few days ago, crypto people had their pitchforks out against Bill Gates and Warren Buffet for criticizing crypto lmao.

Actually the subject of your topic is wrong, Bitcoin is not a scam, it's the person who uses bitcoin to scam another person. And as of now we cannot tell if it's really a scam free in crypto world.

The change in narrative have a real definite meaning. The topic before was clearly to explain to people how bitcoin works and how it operates so that the public will change their view towards bitcoin. But today it is very clear that those doubts are no longer an issue and that is why the topic is focused more on the price of bitcoin and how much will it reach.

yeah that's what i really think it was. as for now their narrative maybe the same but they are pointing different price compared back then when it was earlier. those words keep on repeating and for those who already knew the story back then would probably say, history repeats itself only.

Yes, bitcoin is not scam. For me bitcoin is a big help it reduce poverty and give opportunity to become successful. Yes, some people had bad intentions to bitcoin cause they want to earn money in without effort, they give bad impressions that's why some people they say bitcoin is not real it is only scam.

It does not make any sense to call bitcoins a  scam even after 8 years. So they have finally accepted that it has real value and use.  

We all knew that there are two kinds of people in the crypto world. The one who are holding coins and wishing for the price to rapidly go up while continuing to ignore bad news and accept only the good news. The other one are those who want to start holding coins but seeing the price is too high for them to hop in thus they are creating and jumping to start a bad news or even so the price will go down and start to hop in. Thus an instant revenue is assured. No matter what we do, there are always people bring the price down while there are people who want to bring the price up. That is why most of the people said that the price is so volatile. Yeah, it is so volatile because people what it to be like that.

The catch here is who's talking about bitcoin? Those who doesn't have enough knowledge and already been victimized by some sorts of scam will always be negative about bitcoin, but those who already gained and already achieved a better life will always say that bitcoin is for real, we just need to separate two different opinions and be wise enough to make a good decisions while dealing inside this industry.

No, I consider bitcoin as a source of income because I benefit from bitcoin, and I can use it to improve my family's economy.

For me I don't believe that bitcoin is a scam because it is about innovation and the possible change it might bring if everyone will willingly accept bitcoin as a currency. He made a very bold prediction about the price of bitcoin, I think that he truly believe about bitcoin or he just wanted to hype bitcoin more. I woudn't say that it is impossible for bitcoin to be priced 60k in 2018 as bitcoin has already proved many people's prediction wrong that it woudn't reach some "X" price but I would say that it will be very difficult for bitcoin to reach 60k this 2018.

It was never an scam as to what people are saying, we just speculated it during those early years of bitcoin that it was scam when in fact it is not and we only proven enough for that, for nine years of its existence and how it change our life depending on our belief and capacity.

No , I never thought that bitcoin was a scam . well, few were thinking that it was . but yeah recently the value went high and many who were thinking that it was a scam are now believing in it . still there are people who think it's a scam .

If it was a scam, then it could have been the biggest scam ever involving so many exchanges. Is it so? I don't think this whole world wide market this big could be just a scam. Of course not.  Even though, bitcoin is not legal in the other country bitcoin is not a scam and it is not made for scamming other people.
