Title: Well, I just got scammed
Post by: whofeelsitknowsit on June 29, 2018, 07:10:25 PM
I wanted to participate in the Iagon pre-sale.  I joined what I thought was the official Iagon telegram.  Turned out it wasn't.  I followed the instructions on the pinned message, which directed me to send ETH to a specified wallet address.  Turned out it was all a scam, and I lost 5 ETH.

Really sucks.  The lesson is be careful out there.

Oh, man sorry to hear that. These scammers are getting ever more creative. Was it a phishing scam? I mean, was the page they sent you to the exact replica of the legit Iagon page? And how did you end up visiting the wrong twitter page in the first place? Was it via google, other social networks, advertisement, or any other way? This info could be helpful to the other forum member to avoid the same mistake. You can never be too careful these days.

Did you follow the link from the official site and ended up in a fraudulent chat?
I'm very sorry for your loss. This is not a small amount in fact. :(

Another kind of fraud in telegram chats.
A scammer with the same avatar as the administrator writes you a personal message. Well, he goes on to tell tales and tries to take your money.

Oh very sorry to hear that man, indeed its a pretty big amount. Please guys be careful on links you visiting and telegrams you ever join. Dont ever answer to anyone messaging you asking for payment or whatever demand... Scammers are getting more and more creative nowadays.

I searched for Iagon in telegram, and the fake telegram group is what came up (not the official one).  It had 350+ members and seemed legit, so I thought it was the real one -- real logo, and the admin had the name and picture of the company's CEO (who is in fact active on the official telegram).

The pinned message had instructions on how to participate and I was also pm'ing with who I thought was the CEO.

I should have been more vigilant.

This is reckless on your part, how can you invest in a company with huge amount of 5 Ether , amounting to about 2500 USD without any due diligence. You should have asked questions, on the telegram group, visit the website and contact them from there. Even the announcement thread can offer you more info.

I'm very sorry for your loss, lately there are a lot of scammers. Please double-check all references several times, or work directly with project managers via telegram.

Thanks, I now know that.  I had done due diligence on the company and the investment.  I should have been more careful with telegram.  I'm posting this more as a PSA than anything else.  I wouldn't have made the investment if I wasn't prepared to lose it -- I just didn't expect to lose it so quickly.

It's sad. This kind of fraud has increased a lot. You need to be very careful. These fraudulent events cause great damage to the market. You can compensate for loss of hope in another way.

I am very concerned about what you have experienced right now, if you want to invest on ico I suggest to follow the instructions on the website and do not buy coins through any channels because it is just trying to deceive you, I hope this will be an experience for you and will not happen again

And why did you send money to someone on the details that were specified in the Telegram chat? Usually all the requisites and instructions are written on the official website of the project.

Sorry to hear that, yes, you have to be careful when it comes to transferring money. Unfortunately, with the increase of ICOs popularity more and more scams are emerging. A lot of people lost money during TON ICO, for instance (old news, but still): https://www.coindesk.com/fake-website-scam-targets-aspiring-telegram-ico-investors/
So where did you find that link anyway? Did the official Iagon give you the wrong link, or you just found it somewhere else?

It was a huge amount , I think it was not easy to forget it. In fact I already get scammed before during that time I dont know what to do to recover it. They also said to send some amount then when I already made the tansaction they didnt reply anymore. We all learn from our past experiences and others experience to be careful always.

Sorry for the loss. Many projects remind potential investors to bookmark their ICO website in order to guard against this. But there are many ways scammers can get at the investors. How did this happen? Were you sent an email asking you to participate in the presale, or you visited a phishing site. I'd like to know how it happened so as to guard against such.

The fraud as you have encountered is widespread. Therefore, before dealing with any stranger, you should go through the escrow, and if you are the impersonator of the ICO project, you need to confirm in the telegram group before transferring the crypto to them to minimize the risk when trading with anonymous.

it's a bad experience, as an investor and bounty hunter, we should be more careful to follow an ico, because if we are not careful we could have got a scam ico. experience ever passed can be a learning in choosing ico in the future. and hopefully not to find a scam ico again.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's a very expensive experience, you lose 5 ETH. Well, the fraudsters are getting smarter to hide their crimes, we must make sure that the websites and social media accounts and their chat groups are official accounts. One thing we need to understand does not believe it easily if someone sends you a PM to ask for some money or join an ICO project. Have you reported the Iagon scammer telegram group?

Title: Re: Well, I just got scammed

How can you invest such large amounts in one project?, it is better to distribute these 5 ETH for several hundred dollars to different projects, this increases the chance, not to lose all money and at least to return something.

If this is real, then I feel sorry for you. But in any case, there a lots of ways from which you can have chosen to how you will invest. When you invest, you need to sign up in their website with your information and then afterwards, the process of investment are given. In your case, you joined a telegram with 350+ members which is fishy enough but didn't bother to pay attention. Iagon is quite known in the community so it is impossible to only have 350+ members. Also, you chatted with the CEO and instructed you to send eth to invest instead of visiting their site which is odd. Too many loopholes in this scenario, most people with common sense could have sensed that there was something wrong.

Being scammed is a possible outcome in whatever field in the world , and on top of them comes the altcoin market . Numerous altcoins are created to either be used for chilling or are just total scams that are made by teams that the best accurate description for them is "jokes" .
Sadly retrieving your money or reversion the transaction is not possible due and i presume you already know that .
What i advice you tho is to fight for your money and expose the bastards , bad publicity means bad reputation and that means they'll not get an other bit from anyone else .
Try contacting trusted members to help you expose them if they got an account on the forum ..

Aww. That really sucks man. I'm not aware of Iagon but why did you join the Telegram though? What not look at the official website so that at least you will be safe. This is the first time that I heard this kind of scam being pull off by those criminals. Yes, I'm calling them criminals because they all are a bunch who steal other money. Oh yikes, 5 ETH is definitely more than I've lost in my internet ventures of randomly buying things and trusting people occasionally. The kind of ironic part is that even if you managed to go to the right telegram and buy into the ICO the likelihood of you STILL being scammed by the ICO is very high ;D so at least you can rest easy knowing that most likely you would have been scammed either way.

Glad to hear your story and experienced for others to learn from it or even be vigilant more. I know that there is always a times that we are on the rush in investing on something that we forget to double check it’s legitimacy and blame them to others. But don’t, we have to accept the fact of our imperfections and move on with it then start a new strength to be a much better investor.

You should be more careful, because the more scammers like the example of a fake telegram group. You must first make sure that it is really an official group.

Really sucks.  The lesson is be careful out there.
It is sad for you to meet the scammer when the amount of 5 ETH is quite large. You seem to be careless, do not check the information. When investing in a project, you should check their website so you can search for information about telegrams when you need help. Phishing by telegram I see a lot, do not believe the DM to you and call for investment. Always be careful when investing, because making money is not easy.

I'm sorry that you ran into scammers, now there are a lot of scammers, and they come up with more clever ways of cheating. You should always check the data several times, only this can increase the likelihood that you will not be deceived.

Oh well, welcome to the club, dude. Scammers think of a new way to fraud people. I never though they can simply scam through telegram. Unfortunately, those who believe they will gonna receive any pre-sale token in return will gonna bite the trap. Anyhow, there are still self drop that offered real tokens when you send eth.

Really? Is this for real? Can you please post the transaction txt so that we can verify if its really real or not, But if its true then why you did not check first the legit address in the official website of IAGON before sending such huge amount? You should search first the official website and then ask how you can participate in presale not in the telegram group. Always use google search then you can find it in ico reviews like icobench then official links are posted in that site btw where did you find that telegram group??

You have to be extremely careful because fake chat groups and social media profiles are everywhere not to mention phishing websites/emails/PM's

Always double and triple check that all the details are official before you invest and also inquire with the projects team if there's anything you're unsure about

This is too bad. Have you joined the telegram through the official website? Have you also encountered a phishing website? Remember this lesson. It must be noticed in the future. Before the transfer, you must confirm the correctness of the information. Lost ETH cannot be restored. This loss can only be borne by oneself

Learn from that mistake mate, I'm sorry for your loss so you landed to the fake Iagon telegram channel or it was their official telegram channel?

This is why if you want to invest to such ICOs better buy coins instead. 5 ETH isn't a joke for someone who's investing and wanting to grow it.

Just do day trade which is much better.

It was very pity. So sorry to know this. Many people like you feel the same. I also have been ever scammed when joining the bounty and I work for free about 2 months. From this situation we can get the lesson from this. We can learn more carefully how to find the most legit ICOs. We must be also smarter in analyzing the ICO. So, we can minimize the scams.

5 ETH? Damn. Why would you even take such a risk without doing proper research op? I know that you are in a bad place right now and it sucks, but this is the truth. Scammers will continue to scam people as long as they receive rewards like the amount you sent frequently which is why we need to discourage by improving our brains and not falling for these stupid traps. Do you research before sending even a small amount of money since this is your hard earned money people. Don't give scammers the pleasure which they seriously do not deserve so easily.

Be concerned about the Internet is very fraudulent. Now it is a wonderful time for them to break the jackpot. You have to check it seven times, and buy a dope. Because it is not small money 5 ETH. it's more than $ 500. But now, you will send more and more time to the heart and send it to the unknown where you will not go. I do not understand you even 1 litter sent for the beginning.

5ETH is a considerable amount. You should ask a question, in a telegram group, visit the website and contact them from there. Even the announcement threads can offer more info. and always use the main website to access any links, such as twitter, facebook, and telegram. hopefully you learn from your mistakes.

its a big amount you had lost, you should be more careful when sending any amount of ethereum to a wallet. why you didn't hesitate to send that kind of amount? have you imagined what will happen next if you send that kind of amount and i think its too much for you to invest in an ICO. Or maybe you didnt research well to their project if they are good or not. You should visit their website to make it sure that their project is good.

It’s real.  To be clear, I think Iagon is a promising project, and I don’t blame Iagon.  I just got scammed by impersonators who created an official looking Iagon telegram and pretended to be the CEO and telegram admin.  The part that confused me is that Iagon is working with Rocket Fuel Capital, and all US and China investors have to go through Rocket Fuel to particupate.  The instructions on the Iagon website aren’t clear about how this works, and I got scammed.

Here is the pinned message in the fake telegram, which I followed:

https://i.loli.net/2018/07/01/5b37a945a8287.png

https://i.loli.net/2018/07/01/5b37a9514e9ba.png

It looks real and parrots the information from the website, except for the part where it just directs you to send ETH.  But again, I wasn’t sure if that’s just how Rocket Fuel works (I should have done more research, I know).

And here’s the etherscan transaction history showing my 5 ETH going in and a total of 5 ETH out, which I’ve traced to binance accounts:

You should've open the official website and get the telegram link from there, also you should've join the telegram several days before the ico start so you can see the activity of the group, the official group will have more discussion about the project and ico itself.

I guess that really gives you a big lesson for you but the same thing happened for me I got scammed in a different way but also in Telegram. I joined a group where they are buying and selling coins which is legit because I have tried it once and it worked but then it is really up to you to trust the one that you are trading with. I regretted that I have sent my coin first before confirming the person is legit or not. Then I lost 200 coins which worth not much at that time but if I still have that coin I would have more money now. Which is really a big lesson for me that don't ever trust anyone incomes with trading.

You really need to be careful before making any sort of investment in cryptos. The market is full of scam, pumps/sumps, phishing attacks, hacks etc etc. It is your money and you need to be extra careful with it. Before sending coins to any wallet, just make sure to whom it belongs, see the past transaction. In case of ICO, try going to their website, check URL and then participate there. Never believe anyone giving wallet address on Telegram or Twitter. There are lots of scammer.

I am truly sorry for your loss, but something not add up here ! From my knowledge you can not search for channels unless you are member of it, so if the fake group came up then you was already a member of that group before making the search. Why you did not follow the Telegram link in there ANN thread ! Or why you did not just follow the instructions from their official website . Can you provide a transaction TX for your transfer ? .

Feel something is not right here  ::)

Scroll up.

Yes, you can definitely search telegram.
Sorry about that, my knowledge is wrong, can you please share the TX ? I scrolled up and couldn't find it, maybe we can trace the address and link it with more scams ! .  I also searched gor Iagon and only 3 channel came up 1 news 1 14 members and 1 344 members, it is strange that there main channel with over 29k members did not came up ! .

Exactly!

I guess I’m not sure what you mean by the TX.  I can post it if you clarify.

The full TX hash is:

The transactions out of the account ultimately lead to binance accounts.  I reached out to binance support, but I won’t hold my breath.  I’ll take this as an expensive lesson.

What I could find in Telegram when I tried to search for Iagon was 3 groups: one of them is Russian with 139 participants, another one is "official" with 344 participants, and the third one seems to be a redirected chat.
Which group did you enter into? Can you remember how many participants were there? Was it at least over 5k?
If not, then I'm sorry to say that, but you were really fished by a scam  :-\

Be EXTREMELY careful when sending ETH or any other crypto through commands/instructions given on a Telegram channel. Really easy for scammers to change their profile pic/name to lure people in.

Just use official webpages for participating in ICOs.

350 members seems pretty low. Should probably speak to a few of them before investing, to confirm that they arent bots and stuff.

You need to do everything possible to punish these people, because these people can unequivocally deceive some other people, you need to call people to account and write about it on the forum. Do not be afraid to do it.

I am very sorry, you should check carefully on their home page and on the battery pack telegram on it, they are specifically informed in any ICO project, if you get mail asking you to send the number of ETH I'm afraid scam, including the email address you send me is correct or not, because they can not send out the message to each other but through the mail server system, they can hardly do more work together. At one time, the best way to do this was via the official website and the telegram channel where many people watched

I do not cease to be surprised by the ingenuity of fraudsters. Although phishing sites seem to be not a new way of fraud. Although high techologies create additional conveniences for us, they also give us a lot of trouble. Crypto currency in general is a gold mine for scammers and hackers. Apparently, this illegal type of business will only thrive, because transactions in the crypto currency are held around the world and criminals are very difficult to establish and hold accountable.

At the begin you only should take telgram group link from ANN thread in this forum or from website only and don't forget to check number of member in telegram group to not join wrong group and get scammed one more time ;D

For newbies out there it should be a combination of all the links to identify which one is the real official. Alot of telegram groups nowadays are fake or even before because of airdrops. The cryptos that is already trading were a trend with an airdrop but when you check their site which can have the official social links, they were not doing one. So be careful and do the extra mile to be safe.

Oh my bad, :(, You should be careful next time if you want to participate in a project and investing in it, 5 ETH is really a big amount to lose. These days there are a lot of projects that have the objective to scam people, they use a lot of tricky methods for that purpose. I know that there are a lot of people here can be scammed by these projects, I advise them to be more careful and search a lot about any project you want to invest in it before any move.

Oh, that must be really painful man, unfortunately, scammers got what they want. Their shady tactics are more and more sophisticated every day. They will never vanish from this space and that is the reason why we should be really careful. If I want to invest, I double-check sites and social media (at least) all the time. Well, sometimes even this tactic does not pay off and people are screwed as they lost their savings. On the other hand, it was a lesson for every single reader of this topic and thanks for sharing your experience, we should keep our information channels updated, especially if we are talking about scams. The only thing that you can do is to accept the fact and learn from such uncertainty. Such thing is possible to happen especially if you are new in cryptos. The best thing to come up is by learning from it in order for this on not to happen next time. Just be careful and make observation a priority. I am sorry for your lost and sharing your experience which I think will help others. However I believe you are really eager to to buy the AIGON token to the extent that you didnt check well the information about the ICO before you invest. one of the most efficient way of going about ICO before buying is to make sure you really identify the major website of the ICO before you invest. there are many ICO listing website including bitcointalk that can provide you with that information. Telegram are full of scammers that are targeting investors daily so becareful next time. in fact I will not advise investor to buy any token by simply transfering ETH directly to an address provided by someone or group of people on telegram. it is a sign of scam.

So sad to hear your story. Scammers try to imitate official telegram groups and channel for their selfish purposes. Some scammers even join the official groups and clone the real legit mods so as to scam unsuspecting memebers by sending pm to them. It's the responsibility of the investor to make sure he's in the official group and not fall victim to fake clone mods.

How do you decide on which project to invest? Didnt you made any research before giving your money to them? You shouldnt just invest because there are lots of ICO scams for a long time now. Understand or research about the project first and find any reviews about them if they already have a bad record or history of scamming. You shouldnt be in a hurry on investing. It is not about being the first to invest it is about finding a more secured place to invest your money.

There was some point next to N, and if you read quickly, you will not see this error. so be careful, but better go to the site from the saved links, not in the search engine.

We normal folks are just targets lying around to be attacked by them anytime. I hope these people put their abilities to good use instead of defrauding everyone around.

Scammers and hackers are targeting the cryptocurrency market to steal assets because there is no organized market for managing assets. So investors need to protect their assets before being stolen by the best possible means.

Sometimes we come to a point that we tend to overlook some basic security measures which is why we get into this kind of situation. We know we are smart but there are times that we make stupid decisions without thinking. That is why I believe that being a little paranoid is not bad since it triggers our skepticism making us to look into things before diving in. So yeah, be vigilant and a little paranoid just to be sure.

I been scammed also by getting my tokens on my wallet and transfer directly on his exchange account. It was very terrible feeling especially when you already plan where you going to spend it and going to give it to your parents. Yeah that sucks, but this proves why the scammers keep doing this, they only need to send a few links and now that scammer has 5 ETH that at current prices are more than 2000 dollars and when the price recovers it will be worth a lot more, so they got no reason to stop, this is why it is important to double check every step you are taking before investing or you will lose your money.

Scams target you, we must be careful and do not be easily affected by the lure of rewards or big profits. Always use the link address provided by the official website, and ann or bounty official, do not easily believe in someone who PM you and claim to be the admin of a project let alone to ask for some funds.

It is really hard to get back up from these kinds of scams because the money that was invested was earned with hard work and perseverance. We just need to keep in mind that joining this pre-sales does not give us any kind of legit confirmations of their platform being real and authentic. We still need to do our part to look for reviews and research about the team that created that platform. We need to be strong in facing losses because if we keep ourselves in the dump then we wont ever get back up. We just need to strive harder again and hope that we wont commit the same mistake.

That's terrible, and 5 eth is a lot.
Currently the price is down, but eth was $1000 plus dollars for quite a while and will go back up to that price.

The most common way for people to get scammed is the fake donation address.
People pretend to be a company and give a different address instead of the official one.
It can be elaborate where thy make a copy of the official website but change the url slightly.
Of it can be as simple messages popping up on social  media.

As a general rule, every legitimate ico will have just one payment portal and will never ask for donations through social media.
Instead, they will direct people tot he official payment place.

That's very sad you got scammed but one must be more cautious while buying or paying coins. Your little negligency cost you 5 ethereum its a quite big amount. One must learn a lesson from your mistakes. In future always follow the bitcoin thread do not search it with name If you did join group through bitcointalk thread there is no chance to be trapped by scammers. Always double check the address when you are paying to anyone & always do report scammed groups so that they can be blocked and won't be able to scam further anyone.

You're not the only one who got scammed here dude, and every mistake we most often take it a lesson learned. Just sad to hear that you lost 5 Ethereum. But anyway, next time you know what to do now. Just my piece of advise to you is do more research about in crypto or bitcoin, because feeding yourself a knowledge is good thing to apply. Good luck!

Scammers are everywhere, it can be a person who will scam you, or it can even be an app. Those people who made it only want an easy money. The best thing for us to do is to think wisely inorder for us to decrease the percentage of being scammed.

Of course it was the scam ICO campaign. In order to prevent investing in SCAM you MUST check carefully all the aspects of ICO project: team, registration, reviews and other things.

It is always sad to hear that someone was deceived by scammers, but the most annoying thing is that in each such case, the whole fault lies on the victim.  :( The victims are too careless and inattentive, so that the scammers just have to use it and steal money . Before contacting / forwarding money to someone, make sure that you are communicating in the official channel and talking to an official representative of a project . This simple rule will save you a lot of money ....

Of course, it seems necessary to get a source that has committed fraud on the Logon Page, therefore it is also more cautious, keeping friends in this forum from the same thing.

There are really a lot of useful tips written. and through telegrams to receive instructions for investing looks very suspicious. You should always invest through the official website of the project and before sending money you need to be at least 90% sure that these are not fraudsters. 100% guarantee that this is not a scam in such a market unfortunately not

This was one of the very basic mistakes that you can make. Some of the scammers even go much further aka infiltrating (via social engineering) between the moderating staff of the project and then lure investors into transferring their funds to the wrong address under the pretense of being a genuine staff members. So there is a lot of mines to step on via those channels.

This is a regrettable situation that has been encountered very often in recent times. This is especially true of the top projects that ICOs carry out, there are a lot of participants here and everyone wants to get into the whitelist, and sometimes the participants are in such a hurry that they do not thoroughly check the address where they send their money. Personally, I did not get into such situations, but my friends suffered from such actions of fraudsters.

Really bro? Sorry to hear that and I guess, we need to be wise enough and be careful always next time so that we can avoid this. Much better if you invest only a small amount first so that you can observe the outcomed. And if you think it is legit, then that's the time you invest big amounts but make sure you can still managed your self incase you failed.

Yeah, it really is like that in this ecosystem, it seems like the far west with so many people trying to rip you off, everyone wants a piece of the cake, but instead of working honestly, they do scams to make the unwary fall, I don't blame you because anyone could get ripped off there, you just have to be much more careful next time.

Be careful, there are lots of cheaters in the ICO market. The companies hardly ever place wallet addresses in the Telegram. You usually need to pass registration on the ICO website, and after that you are given an address in the personal account where you can invest.

TO avoid being scammed in the future, ensure you take out time to recheck and confirm the project website, do not be in a hurry to invest, avoid the rush mechanism from developer, base on bonus announce, alot of lazy investors tends to  research after investing and this might be late.

And how did you end up visiting the wrong twitter page in the first place? Was it via google, other social networks, advertisement, or any other way? This info could be helpful to the other forum member to avoid the same mistake. You can never be too careful these days.

This is reckless on your part, how can you invest in a company with huge amount of 5 Ether , amounting to about 2500 USD without any due diligence. You should have asked questions, on the telegram group, visit the website and contact them from there. Even the announcement thread can offer you more info.

Thanks, I now know that.  I had done due diligence on the company and the investment.  I should have been more careful with telegram.  I'm posting this more as a PSA than anything else.  I wouldn't have made the investment if I wasn't prepared to lose it -- I just didn't expect to lose it so quickly.

love your statement that you were ok with losing the investment- and the nice touch of joke in the end :)

Seriously, never had any occasions so far when somebody asks to send money through Telegram official site. usually that is for info only and to redirect to right places ..

This is the reason why we need to regulate cryptocurrency in a positive way. The governments in each country allowing cryptocurrencies should have the control over transactions like these. Only those that are registered companies or ICOs should be allowed to receive payments in the form of cryptocurrency or fiat. They should be submitting KYCs and not their clients or customers. So if ever they would be doing scam, surely they will end up in jail because all their identity are established and made known.

The thing about scams is you don't realize it until it's too late.

While it's happening, it feels completely normal and natural, and you don't feel like you are doing anything wrong.

It's likely the last time that will ever happen to you due to the severity of the situation, but it's too bad you had to lose that amount of money to learn the lesson.

All it takes is a split second of inattention and you fall prey to the scammer.

The quest for yield at any costs has nearly destroyed humanity in the fiat era.

Let's hope the move to crypto happens sooner than later so we can move beyond this sickening phase of the paradigm shift.

Scammers are becoming more and more inventive and this once again should remind us that we need to be more careful. Try several times to check the address of the site, pay attention to the number of participants in the group and social networks of the project. Such examples should remind us that you should not be lazy once again, especially when it comes to the possible loss of your money or personal information.

There are a lot of scam methods like this by making a replica or fake telegram  for a particular ico project, the developer of the ico project should confirm that the telegram is fake. and you should also check first, maybe see their thread ANN first and ask the dev about their telegram, the most important thing is you get a lesson now

I am sympathetic and concerned about the incident that happened to you. It can be a lesson for us to be more careful in investing. This lucrative crypto currency market is very vulnerable to fraud. Moreover, cryptocurrency frauds do not yet have strict binding regulations so that people are not responsible for more freedom to carry out their crimes. It can be a lesson and experience for us to be more careful. Before investing, we must understand the transaction procedures in depth from the official website. Don't let us only get information from one door, for example telegram. We have to match all procedures through various ICO social media, for example from websites, from twitter, from facebook, etc. From now on we must be smart and careful investors again. What has happened does not need to be regretted, now is the time for us to get up and organize the strategy again.

I often encounter such fraudulent schemes. We all need to understand that no one will give you anything for free. Success in crypto is a mindfulness and in-depth analysis of the situation. One mistake can lead to a crash. But fortunately, negative experiences allow us to become smarter :)

Sorry for the huge loss. Scammers are every where nowadays.  We all need to be extremely careful, because these so called scammers make replica of the original site and therefore makes it difficult to differentiate between the fake and original.  Scammers are getting creative.

I feel sorry about your lost. Next time think twice before you send money to unknown person because you did not know if it is a scam or not. If you really want to joined in a pre-sale be careful to choose. There are lots of scam out there and you must be aware. You should know that there are no free in crypto world even airdrops.

There are many such scams, you must be careful! I have found that a liar's website is exactly the same as a real website! Even you can't tell any clues. The official website ICO has ended, but this cottage website is still in progress. Liars are everywhere, and investors must be very cautious.

Now there are a lot of dummy sites and links that can be brought to the fishing site. It is necessary to check several times the links that you follow. So you can lose your money.

Today, with the growing number of fake ICO, we all need to be extremely careful. In addition, you should check all the data twice before committing a transaction token.

You don't have to be too self-blaming. This is the fault of scammers. Of course, I think you should sum up some experience from this lesson. When you have a lot of experience, those scammers will hard to cheat you.

5 ETH is  5ETH. That's still a lot of Ethereums. There is no shame in being scammed though because It can happen to anyone of us.  The lesson here is to not be too trusting  and be more careful in dealing with the people behind ICO's. In telegram do not just trust anyone. make sure that you double check everything before sending your payments, be it BTC or Ethereum.

I've been in this situation before, but noticed that the account is fake just because a link to the website for automatic payments was not connected to the platform. Be careful, bro.

A few months ago, I put almost everything, and now I'm not even going to try to do the translation, until I am sure that every member of the damn real team. The risk is too high, and we must be prepared.

How did you go to a fake account? As for me, it is obvious that all the links listed on the official websites of the ICO, and there is no other source of truth.

This lesson is very valuable to newcomers. Your five Ethereum prices are all above $500, and you lose $2,500. But don't affect the mood of losing money. The cryptocurrency market is like this. It allows you to make money and make you bankrupt, so investors must have a good state.

You seem to have encountered "phishing scams" and may not be logged into the correct website and telegram group from the start! I also hate these scammers!

Sorry to hear that, it is sad that our industry is full of such scammers. We need to do something to protect more investors on this forum from such bad community members. You should always be very careful with announcements on TG.

I really felt sorry for you sir. Next time you got to be more careful. Especially that there are many scammers lying around in the telegram group. Before making investment, always invest in their own website. Do not bite the trap when they give the address to send the tokens.

You trust others easily, but that has happened. I hope you don't give up but make this a valuable lesson for you. Before you join ICO Poryek, you have to do research because this is very important.

Life is full of colors despite of the obstacles. Lessons never end. There is always a lesson behind the bars of uncertainties that can make us stronger than the past. It is advisable not to be in hurry investment because of huge and good promises illusions. That is why to search the team and ICO is required in order to exclude the scam and support the real and good ones.
Op, you should be more careful whether the market is bullish or bearish. Take care your investment not to lose again. By the way, you can buy ethereum now if you have enough budget to do so.

i am sorry for what is natural,
indeed this is a very good lesson going forward. we must be more choosy and certainly not easy to trust others, if you are interested in what they say. you should investigate before believing it.

your experience will be a good lesson for me.

About the telegram group, i think it would be a lot safer if we look for the real group through the official announcement or from the original website of the project, that would be the safest way to find the right telegram group.

I'm sorry for your loss. Be careful on telegram, there's lot of scammers there. Scammers create a telegram group and then started to put a lot of people into their group to make it looks legit and then changed it into fake ico telegram. Make sure to check the link to all of the ICO's social media and website on its bitcointalk official ann thread. BTW, thanks for sharing your experience.

Due to good income earned from bitcoins there are lots of scammers sorround with this business. They will make very creative works that can get the attentions to investors giving out huge profit of investments which is actually not true. Sometimes we will be convinced by this scam project due to our belief of getting a huge income although it is very impossible to get. So for me being scammed lead me to success in this crypto business because I made it as lessons and learn from this mistakes.

Don't underestimate the ability of the scammer. Scammers in the cryptocurrency market are usually very capable, so be careful when choosing projects. I saw the same website as the official website, but the fake website ICO is still in progress and there are many such scams.

Seriously???Why would you even take such a risk without doing proper research op? I know that you are in a bad place right now and it sucks, but this is the truth. Scammers will continue to scam people as long as they receive rewards like the amount you sent frequently which is why we need to discourage by improving our brains and not falling for these stupid traps.Learn from that mistake mate, I'm sorry for your loss so you landed to the fake Iagon telegram channel or it was their official telegram channel? This is why if you want to invest to such ICOs better buy coins instead. 5 ETH isn't a joke for someone who's investing and wanting to grow it.
