KYD Verification FAQ
KYD has been gaining momentum everyday and we’ve been growing at a fast pace. As more verifications are submitted we will run a higher chance of one of these projects failing or simply completely losing on the exchange. We have been receiving a lot of questions both public and private about what will occur when this happens to one of the verified coins. We wanted to take a moment to first go over the details of the verification process and what will happen if one of these verified coins goes south.

Verification Process
KYD is just beginning and currently the verification process is the most basic option the platform will offer. In the future, we are expanding to a much broader verification and coin escrow service. This platform is currently being developed. The current process involves the team/coin lead submitting his state-issued ID along with a selfie – this will at least confirm who is behind the coin. THIS IS NOT A GUARANTEE or ENDORSEMENT of a coin. PLEASE DO NOT buy a coin based on our verification alone. We never recommend buying a coin on one factor alone such as a Twitter shill or even a KYD verification. Any crypto purchase should be DYOR (Do Your Own Research).

What happens when a verified coin fails?
In the event of a KYD verified coin either failing or not delivering on their promises, we will remove their listing on our website and will let the community know. Please submit any tips or reasons you think a current coin should not be listed. We are open to advice or information (might be best to submit in private). We are not planning on publishing their private ID all over the internet for multiple legal reasons. However, if they outright steal BTC and a criminal investigation is underway will be happy to provide all the information requested by authorities.

Does verification mean you like the coin or their project?
We want to be very clear that verification only means we've verified their state issued ID as stated above. The project may still be an idea that people won't buy or will fail based on being just a plain bad coin idea. They may have the best intentions but their idea never catches on. There is a big difference from a scam coin that only has the plan of stealing BTC versus a coin that just doesn't succeed. Please understand the risk in crypto and investing. KYD is not responsible for any loss to one of our verified coins.

The ID verification in no way guarantees your funds are safe. KYD has a verification process that includes a state issued ID and selfie. We only verify the main developer or project lead at this time. KYD will be expanding verification levels in the coming updates, but at this time this is solely a beta product and should be used as a reference only. This is not financial advice

I think this is a great idea and exactly what the new token/coin market needs! There've been more than enough scam coins set loose on the market with investors left holding heavy bags after the developers sold out, took the money and ran. That all depends on who is willing to sell KYD coins. CryptoBridge trading should be starting sometime tomorrow so just be sure to be on there ready for when coins are up for sale or put in some buy orders and try and get some KYD that way. I have seen on most occasions when new coins are listed that there is a chance to scoop up some cheap coins as some people want to sell their MN rewards. This gives everyone a chance to buy KYD and distribute the coins around to everyone. 

completely agree every coin will see its ups and downs especially the day of or after a listing on 1st exchange. plenty of people that earned the right to gather some profits from their investment. I am not one of those people because my investment will be tomorrow when the lows hit :D

When a coin goes to the exchange, it is always dropped. And this is understandable, people want to return their investments. But this is a good entry point for late investors.

Right now the price doesn't reflect what KYD has to offer. The price will slowly start to rise as people start to see the potential KYD has to offer the general crypto community. I'm very happy to see the latest project XCG verified by KYD as I support that project a lot and like what their doing. I also read that KYD will be listed on XCG in wallet escrow once it is ready for release so its a win win for both projects. KYD is gaining momentum each week with more projects getting verified which helps gain exposure and it seems that more people are taking notice of KYD now which is great to see.

KYD verification may not guarantee success, but I certainly feel a lot better knowing that a project's devs were willing to confirm their identity!

It seems as though the wallet update went smoothly along with all the people that owns masternodes. I must say that the team handled this perfectly and now the chain and network is a lot more secure. I'm getting closer to owning my second masternode as the rewards are stacking up nicely. I was staking as well but I was getting a lot of orphan blocks as I was on the wrong chain. Now from what I understand, the KYD do have documents from the dev teams that verify their ID etc... Now if the project goes scam then the team can release these documents to the authorities but of course they are not public just a profile of the devs that are getting verified. 

In my eyes, after some time, this pays off. Even if you do not publish the list with people who have ripped off others. After some time you can at least say who is honest.And thats worth more then enough.
I often see,people who scream SCAM but then invest in projects that bring in 10000% .. That has nothing to do with the right perception on the reality.

Others invest hard or fiat money in Whitepapers ..not more ...A good book which spells you get anReturnOnInvest of 1200% in Coins ...in Coins and not in Dollars.So most of the Scam is not really Scam ...because you get what they promised.That one coin ain´t worth to be watched is a problem that all Tales of 1001 Nights believers share.

I agree with everything you have said here. This is why I actually got into KYD in the first place as its the first of its kind to do anything like this. Like you said at least KYD has a use case for their product unlike most other projects out there that have nothing except for a roadmap and WP. This is what I really like about this project, the dev team keep on delivering. This new partnership with SOS will be a good as they will also be doing what the other platforms are doing by adding the KYD tick of approval logo to projects that have been KYD verified. I'm in talks with GTM to see if they can also add this feature to their platform and maybe Gin could do the same.

Yes I know this and just like every other project we need to take caution however with a KYD verified project it does offer a little more confidence in the project that has been verified compared to a project that we don't know nothing about the dev team. Maybe the KYD team can work on making it even more better in the future to try and protect the people even more but for now I think they are doing a great job.

I'm really loving KYD as it has been and continues to be my best performing masternode this year. The price has been steady for many months now along with the steady increase of nodes coming online each week shows that people believe in this project. Like I have said in here before, KYD is one project for the long term and not just a short term project like many others out there.

Well yeah you could be right that KYD was at its bottom and now has been having steady increased growth. Also a few months ago there were around 85 nodes online and since then that has almost doubled to around 165 nodes online so this also plays a factor into the price increasing as more people buy to run a node. All the good projects out there have well over 500 nodes online so there is still a lot of room for growth with KYD as I believe it is one of the good projects of 2018.

It's one of the few masternode coins with price trending higher the past 6 weeks.

The price has come down a little today which gives people the opportunity to buy a node at a cheaper price ready for when the platform is launched in the near future. KYD is still in its early stages and now could be the perfect time to get in, I wish I had some spare BTC so I can buy more for my second masternode.

Well its not a Cryptopia listing however KYD will be listed on Shardax once it launches. This is huge news as Shardax is very popular already with well over 10,000 members already signed up to use this exchange. The numbers could be more but last I heard it was well over 10k members so to have KYD to be listed as one of the first coins will give this project some nice exposure as being one of the first coins traded people will look to see what KYD is all about. Hey people don't invest in any coin just by seeing KYD approval. its mean nothing. as an investor i invested in one of KYD approved project and that project is gone now. when i asked for details of that project's developer. they told me to contact your local authority. when i insist for detail. they blocked me from their discord and from Personal chat and told me that i hate that project and just spreading fud. beware of these KYD People

I never asked KYD about that project or why they scam. KNOW YOUR DEVELOPER  is what i wanted to know and they blocked me in their discord and gave me no details. so if they can not give details then what is the purpose of this coin and why they selling these fake approvals?. while in the end people still can not know details of their approved developers.

The question is, was the coin that did scam have a community takeover? if so that might be why the KYD team didn't release the details of the dev to you. I know two projects that the original dev left and there was a community takeover and now the new dev needs to verify with KYD again. The KYD team are making some changes to their verification process which will then hopefully stop dev teams leaving.

Same here my friend, well as we speak the dev team are working on improvements to the verification process but even if they have a good system in place it won't stop people from scamming. We see and hear of scams every single day and not just in crypto, KYD will do their best to make it as safe as they can for us. 

Interesting concept, will certainly be useful as KYD continues to gain momentum.

I think the KYD project must be an indicator of investment.
The credibility of the projects and coins certified by the KYD project will increase,
but it is not conclusive. It does not guarantee the success of each project.
I think that it should also be written in your WP.

A week ago we finished our second sprint. Like predicted in the first sprint we got twice the amount of work done.
We now have the base of our API running and a stable deployment system. Our third sprint started on 29-10-2018 and we will be focussing on implementing a team and job API and a file uploading system for profile pictures etc.

Great project, we needed something like this for a long time and now we have it. The future is bright for KYD.

Like I have been saying for a while now, KYD is a solid project for the long term and the price has been steady for months now and is still in an upward trend even though the price has dipped a little in recent days. We are seeing more masternodes come online each week, currently at 204 which locks away close to 80% of the circulating supply which then makes less coins on the exchange to buy which can push up the price even further once demand picks up for KYD. This is also why we see low volume as no one wants to sell their KYD and are holding for the future.

I've heard many mimes about the promise of this project. most likely it will be a very successful race, the effectiveness of which we will see. consider it a successful start.

Yes the dev team are working on developments they have set out in their roadmap. I believe work is going on behind the scenes on the KYD platform and that there is discussions going on about how they can improve the current verification process. I think its going to take some time before we really start to see some big developments as it does take time to build what they have set out. At least we are seeing more partnerships between KYD and other platforms where they have KYD verified projects showing the KYD tick. Also there have been a few more projects verify this past week so there is a lot going on right now.

The concept and goals of this project are important to let the investors know bout the developers they are invested in. It isn't project but teams in which we invest and believe that they will deliver. The initiative at the same time can reduce the scams by providing lot of information and rating about developers to know and decide based on facts. It impressed me from whatever I studied little bit so far.

Yeap, your opinion is correct.
KYD is a good one, and a good supplementary project for crypto investors.
This one help them at somewhat extents to have better overview on transparency of project they are interested in.
However, KYD verification has definitely not a guarantee that a project is not a scam one. This point is important.

Yes there will always be scams out there in crypto just like there is in everyday life. There really is no avoiding it but KYD are doing their best at making buying into projects a lot safer as the dev teams that do verify would think twice before scamming as their ID's are shown to the world. The KYD team are working on making this verification a lot more better in the future.

This will hopefully become a standard. How much is it to get a development team verified?

I know there have been some changes recently as there was another option to verify where it was not shown to the public which has since been scarped. The price could of changed for public verification but last I knew was 1k KYD coins to get verified which is a regular public listing.

And, I can not disagree with your opnion, cynical.
KYD, has been [at somewhat extent] a supplementary tool for crypto investors.
It's not a key things to verify that projects are un-scam ones.

Now looks to be the perfect time for dev teams to get verified if they were looking for KYD verification as the price is a lot lower which means the verification is a lot cheaper when compared to a couple of weeks ago. It also opens up the door for people that were sitting on the fence waiting to buy a KYD masternode so there is some positives to take from the market downtrend. 

In my opinion, KYD verification should be considered as a supplementary for investors' decisions.
It's almost go into any judgements on projects simply based on the KYD verification.

True, that is why we all must still do our own research when it comes to looking to buy any cryptocurrency. The main benefit that KYD offers is that the dev team that they have verified as shown ID which is things go bad can be passed onto the authorities.

I think the developers should be publicly known as soon as they raise a lot of money or otherwise the risk is just too high that they run off.

THe dev teams will be public no matter what as the private listing will be phased out in December and I'm sure its already phased out but the site hasn't been updated. So the only way now is public verification so we at least know who the dev team is, I would however like to see more added to the public verification like links to the dev teams Facebook, Linkin etc... This is something the KYD team can work on to make the platform more transparent.

Also it acts as a sort of qualification for an ico's team which they will have to fulfill otherwise they risk not getting funded.
It is essential that KYD gets the recognition it should.

I agree, Most ICO projects do release they teams profiles anyway but there has never been anyone able to confirm if what the dev team are showing us is true. This is when KYD can come into play as they can verify the ID of the ICO team and confirm that with their profiles they have released to the public. KYD has a lot to offer the Crypto community if they can get it right which I'm confident they will in the near future.

Just in case anyone is wondering why trading and deposits/withdrawals have been paused on CryptoBridge, its because the team are looking through the chain to see if there is any exploits that might of occurred recently due to the huge sell off of coins on CB. More details of this will be posted on their discord in the next day or two as right now the team are busy looking through the chain for any exploits.

If you scroll up a few posts, I have made a post on why there is no trading of KYD at the moment. There was an exploit on the chain which the team have found and are monitoring it. There will be a coin swap coming very soon so deposits/withdrawals on CB will be closed until after this swap.

I guess the KYD process will need refinement over time anyway as weaknesses in the processes might only be effectively identified over time.

Lets hope this week is when we get some more news on the coin swap. The team are working hard behind the scenes on the new wallet and chain so hopefully the new wallet will be released sometime this week. I'm confident that once all this complete and trading resumes on CB that KYD will bounce back to where it once was, it just might take some time.

I'm thinking that they will give people a few weeks to swap so I'm thinking that CB deposits and withdrawals won't be opened until the end of December or early January 2019.

I'm sure the swap ratio will be 1:1 as they are mainly doing this to stop the hacker from dumping his coins. Not sure how long it will last as there hasn't been any details on this yet. I'm thinking that they might do a re-brand or improvements to their KYD platform for verification's which is similar to a re-brand so lets just wait and see what happens.

The swap went smoothly for me as well and now I have my masternodes back up and running again. The rewards are very good right now as most are yet to update their masternodes or have yet to swap their old coins for the new KYD. I also noticed that staking is working great with blocks of 500 KYD but this could change once more people swap to the new coin. The team have done a great job with this swap and didn't rush anything as they wanted to get everything perfect before swapping. Once this swap is over the team can get back to working on improving the KYD verification platform.

KYD dev team are currently testing out the patch that will hopefully fix the issues with fake stakes which so many PIVX wallets are going through tight now. The team have also stated that they will be some additional things they need to implement for KYD so hopefully this will be complete soon and we can move on from anymore wallet issues.

Yes everyone needs to update their wallets and masternodes. Like I said all the information can be found in the KYD discord on how to update your masternodes.

More good news for KYD as deposits and withdrawals have been enabled on Cryptobridge, its been a long wait but its now over so lets get back to trading on CB again.

KYD is working on this as we speak my friend as they look to improve their platform. There are just too many MN projects launching now but KYD won't be able to verify them all as its up to the owners of the projects to come to KYD for verification however if KYD can improve and make their platform better and people trust in what they do then more devs would want to get verified as KYD can have a huge impact on the MN project being successful as the people buying into that project know that the dev team has been verified and provided some sort of ID to KYD.

In my viewpoint, KYD has not performed good right now as well as last four weeks.

The movement of the course can be perceived as a certain parameter when considering, but in the case of KYD there are a number of reasons:

1) The last two months have been challenging for the community given the network swap and attempted attacks on the ecosystem, but experts have established stability and made a number of parallel improvements.
2) KYD abruptly went to several other exchanges, which are much faster to react to the change of the wallet and the opening of trading
3) Due to first point, the terms of opening hiring platform have moved, but attraction of additional forces has already shown the result in the adaptation of the main site, the road map has also been changed (the terms are shifted by a month) with a more detailed task and a report for investors.

In the end, we are moving to launch the platform and expand cooperation. Confident that course will go forward with success of the KYD.

That's right, all these factors play a big role in the price of any project. KYD has had it tough since the start of the year with many issues with the wallet and fake stake issue which KYD was one of the first to be attacked and let the other PIVX forked projects know. CB was closed for weeks while a fix was being sorted and in that time nodes were still running earning rewards and stacking up so it was expected to see the price come down once CB opened up deposits and withdrawals again. Over the long term KYD has been solid until this fake stake was found and I believe that in time KYD will return back to where it once was, its just going to take some time.

Long term is the key here as it is going to take come time for the team to get the platform just right but they are on their way to making that happen. The new revamped KYD website was just released the other day which is much better then the last one and they are currently working on the platform so hopefully we'll get to see some screenshots of the work being done.

Yes my friend, patience is the key here as I'm confident KYD will do well in the long term. It was doing very good before the fake stake happened as the price was consistently holding at around 2k sats for months. Not sure if anyone has seen the latest news updates with KYD but I can tell you all that KYD has partnered up with Masternodes Pro to have the KYD verified tick banner next to the masternode projects that have been verified by KYD. I known the KYD project at the first time during the hottest period last year, in which Proof-of-Stake/ Masternode coins launched every day and abundantly in the market.
The KYD team raised amazing ideas to verify IDs of project's developers, by a third party.
It is somehow bringing more transparency and reliablity of projects' teams, despite of the fact that no one knows those developers are real ones or not.
The verification passed by KYD team don't judge projects are good one, but at least give us one more proof that those developers are real, their IDs are real.

I'm not sure if by law they can show other people's ID in public however they do have devs ID if the community wants to take it up with the authorities. I just found this project today and it is one of the projects I would like to give some compliments to those who initiated it. My worry is that will people use this at all? If we are accepted and used this site, it would have made it easier in choosing good projects. I think bitcointalk can make it a requirement for all Ann threads to have links to the KYD profiles.

If the team behind this initiative can show that the developers they verify don't become scammers eventually, it would be a service of enormous value.

To be honest that would be very hard to achieve as no one knows if or when a dev might scam or leave the project. This goes for everyday life as no one knows who is trying to scam you. The thing that KYD can do is improve their verification process which I believe they are working and should be ready soon. If a project does leave then KYD can provide the ID's to the authorities if the community goes down that road.   

The core purposes of KYD verification is not prove projects are scam or un-scam.
This procedure simply to prove that those projects run by real developers behind by verifying their IDs.

Yes I know this already, its just that some people think that because projects are KYD verified that they won't scam but like I said people get scammed daily and not even the authorities have been able to stop this from happening to everyday people. Like you said KYD lets us know that there is a real team working on the project and if something does go wrong then if the community want to take action then KYD can provide the details of that particular person/s of the project that scammed. Now not all scam as some projects just fail which doesn't mean they scammed. In my opinion a scam project is a pre-sale MN project that sells masternodes and then never lists on exchanges and runs off with the money, now this is when KYD could really come into play.

Yes, what KYD team and their verfiications bring is a additional tool to have more transparent details of developers and if something goes wrong, investors might do  a contact with local authority for help, if they want.
That's all KYD provides, and the team are not responsible for the quality of projects they accept to verify.

I heard that it is very close to launching which I'm really looking forward to seeing as it does need some improvements from the current platform KYD has. The problem we have in crypto now days is that people are quick to judge a project and most are just here for quick profits. People need to understand that developments can take time and if they just change their mindset from quick profits to holding long term then crypto would be better for it as most projects take a while to develop into something big. Time will tell if that happens with KYD, but I'm willing to hold for the long term.

The real problems of investors nowadays are:
Picking up news quick.
Reading news quick (so might miss something important, don't read them, or misunderstand what writers imply)
Assessing projects quick (so might lead to wrong assessements).
Deciding to invest into projects quickly (might result in wrong investments).
Waiting for huge profits quickly (then more easily fall into FOMOs).

Yep and that is why even though we have KYD verifying projects everyone still should do their own research into each project they buy into. Sometimes it can be hard as most dev teams don't like to be public and this is where KYD comes into play as now the profiles of teams will be public so at least it shows that there is a real team working on the project, now that's not to say they won't run off but at least we know who is behind the project.

KYD has a lot going on behind the scenes with the team working on a new wallet release with some added features and also they are working on verifying the projects that are already on the old platform and getting them ready for the new platform. This all takes time so we just need to be patient while the team work on this, Flits is the latest project to become KYD verified so the team are working.

It was more than a year, they could not open the platform. The team is not doing any work on the discord channel. They're just talking. So much time has passed just a falling coin. A coin without development. Unfortunately my trust in this coine is now over.

Well there are a lot of other coins in the same situation as KYD, the Altcoin market being down is hurting a lot of coins but at least the team are still here working on getting KYD back on track. I can understand why people move on and to wait one year is a long time but I think the team can get things back on track as they are still here unlike most other masternode projects out there that are either dead or have been abandoned by the dev.

As you may have seen in our KYD Discord #work-overview and meeting summary Shockthewolf engineering has been working on the backend wich is 90% finished  and we did several succesfull verification tests last week. Good to see more projects doing KYD verification's now and its even better then before as the KYD have a video call to make sure the project devs are who they say they are so it does add a little more confidence when looking to buy into a new project.

I and many from the KYD community have been waiting for this day to come for a very long time to see KYD listed on CMC. Now that KYD is listed on CMC, hopefully this project starts to get the attention it deserves as most people like to use CMC to find good projects which I believe KYD is.

I agree on the effect that CMC has on increasing awareness. I am just now looking into this coin precisely because it appeared on CoinMarketCap - so far I have only just skimmed some of the information.

I write a series of books called Altcoin Investigation to help people do DYOR.  Each book covers as many coins as I can research (given my limited amount of time) for coins which first appear on CMC during the month in which the book comes out.  Which means - I am getting all set to add info about KYD into this month's volume.

I just came across KYD on LBRY tv which is great to see, its good to see more projects use other platforms besides just YouTube as YouTube are becoming more strict on crypto and more censorship so I think we'll see more crypto projects look for other options like LBRY tv. I'm really liking what I am seeing with the new platform as it is coming along nicely and hopefully soon we'll see a lot more projects using it.

We will be doing some maintenance on KYDcoin.io today which will cause the site to be temporarily offline. Later we will share more information about the latest changes.

Man.. almost two years and nothing done with this project, Moocharoo was right, the MAIN page got dead links pointing nowhere, completely different team members got the same name and surname displayed this is an extremely lack of attention and interest from the team itself.. none of the discord server members noticed that and things got fixed only after my mention about it. I donated 1100 kyd after they agreed to launch a giveaway and then asked some meticulous question about the project and 3..2..1.. GOT BANNED  got a masternode and kept it running for 3 months before this.. really sad

Well they had to change things up and during that time things have happened to the lead dev due to personal issues so the team had to find another dev to work on the new platform which they have been doing for the past few months as you can see there has been changes to the platform and website. You say its been 2 years and nothing has been done, well my friend look at all the other coins out there which are in a similar situation, the problem is that people think they can make a quick buck when in fact things take time to develop. You are welcomed back to the Discord from what I have read in there if you choose to come back.

Since 2018 this project was lunch or at least the ann thread was created and am just seeing for the first time, when i read the project concept and i thought finally something to help the crypto community make a better choice and prevent from scam project, but it seem project has been paused,
i was going to ask what is the kyd method to gather dev information and how will they be certain they are given the right credentials and not just fake, i hope the dev will continue with project because the concept seem nice, i think crypto community need this type of project.

I highly recommend that you check out the new website as it should have all the information you are asking here. At first they just required a form of ID from one of the dev team and social media accounts but now to be verified the dev teams will need to provide a lot more as yes there were scams and devs used fake social media profiles. KYDC also now require a video call to verify the identity of the person getting verified so the KYDC team have taken the steps to hopefully insure that we see no more scams however there still could be as there is no guarantee in this world.

When I will open a scam project, I will not have a KYDC verification. The clue is from the other direction. When I have an solid project, I would like to be KYDC verified, because it shows transparency of my own project.

No matter what there will always be scams as there are scams daily and not even Governments or law enforcement can stop them but KYD will help in a way as at least the projects that do verify with KYD are known publicly for us all to see. Yes transparency is key to any new project which is why I believe that KYD will do well in the future once their platforms are up and running.

I'm seeing new faces in the Discord server each week and its a lot more active now then it was the past year which is great to see. The team are still here and never gave up even when things got tough which is what you like to see in a project.

I am impressed with the recent update with masternode hosting and cold masternodes. I'm about to reach another masternode so for this one I might try out KYDC cold full masternode as it seems like a good deal and at the same time supports the KYDC network which we all should be doing when running nodes.
