Title: More Regulations For Cryptocurrency?
Post by: DOGECOIN92 on July 08, 2018, 11:13:01 AM
Hello, would love to get your opinion on this topic. Do you think there would be more regulations regarding cryptocurrency by the Government? Both now and the future? Let’s say bitcoin price rises to $100,000 per bitcoin, Do you think the government would actually let it be and function on its own without constant regulations? Well, personally I think we would see more regulations from the government down the line to a 1 Trillion Dollars total market cap and above. But I’m positive such regulations won’t hamper on the further growth and advancement of cryptocurrency. So tell me, what do you think?

I think if the government fully have control over crypto currency then crypto currency will loose their identity as a decentralization project. However, few regulations would be good, like imposing tax on it. People will consider it legalized and the demand for it will increase more further.

We will see more regulations no matter the Bitcoin and no matter its market. It's already taking place slowly. It's up to us to accept it or reject it and raise our voice. Making a currency has no use if in the end it is regulated. Basically, Bitcoin was created to get back some privacy and to be free from governments and banks

I think moderate supervision is necessary and there are some norms that can promote the development of the community. But those media should not exaggerate the negative news of encryption.

The market of crypto currency is out of reach of any third party or the government. This is an advantage for the investors in the market as well as both party who exchanges it. Yet at some point the government will eventually start tapping into the market and put regulations on it, it is hoped that the regulation does not hamper the market

Id the government implemented rules and regulations, they need to be sure that it is not just for there interest but also for the welfare of the users of bitcoin, and other coins or the crypto itself. Putting taxes will do but if they implemented something that concerns with the identity of users well it will definitely undergo in a debate. The regulations must only concern with the security the users will have.

I dont think that government will make regulations which wont try to get identity of users because they are implementing the rules and regulations in which their main criteria will be to show the identity of users. If you see last all ICO are asking KYC procedure, which means their is identity verification's of users who wanted to be in crypto world.

I think regulations are good for Crypto and Bitcoin if they ar einclusive of crypto as an asset class. We need a good infrastructure and framework around Bitcoin so that the bigger entities like pension funds, hedge funds and Indeces can start utilizing this asset class for the benefit of their very wealthy clients. These peeps kind of hodl long term and it's what we need in crypto, not just pump n dump groups and whales constantly manipulating the prices.

I think regulations such as Tax, KYC, etc won't inhibit the growth of Cryptocurrency, I'm only worried about prohibitions such as shut down the access of cryptocurrency exchange to Bank account and ban the use of Cryptocurrency as payment, Governments will create more regulation in the future because they want to control this industry in their country, control is an annoying thing for us but we can't avoid it

In my opinion the only thing that the government has a right to regulate in crypto is to secure its people to scammers. The government can take actions on it especially when it comes to illegal activities. Then also the government can also implement tax collections because even if its decentralized we are still had a responsiblity as a citizen to pay back not that much as what you think but to pay in return for helping even just a little for contributing to our economy.

since there aren't that many regulations regarding bitcoin now I would say yes there will be a lot more regulations in the future because this is currently a raw market with no regulations and it needs them. so as the market grows and more people get involved and more importantly as the popularity of bitcoin grows and more businesses and merchants start accepting it as payment, the government has to put some regulation guidelines for them to follow in order to keep everything in line.
that has already happened in some countries like Japan though. and the rest will eventually follow.

I do not think adding regulation may change bitcoin as it is. As we all know, bitcoin is actually doing its job well and for the past few years, there are no regulations being added or get rid with it. Bitcoin plays as it is. And as time goes by, regulations do so. If we choose to, then lookin toward it is a great hook.

the only thing you need to keep in mind is that you should not confuse regulations with restrictions. the regulations can be both but it doesn't have to be either. for example the Japanese regulations of bitcoin led to a huge rally and a lot of adoption in their country. regulations can also be restrictive and bad and prevent the growth.

will we see more regulations for bitcoin? yes
will they prevent the growth? maybe not, maybe they do. it depends on which country sets what.

For a country that has already received and regulated bitcoin well at the present moment may have an effect. They will raise taxes to all users of cryptocurrency in their country. But I am a little confused given the volatile bitcoin prices so the rules they make will always change.

And for countries that are still neutral and banning bitcoin they will be indifferent to bitcoin price changes. But there is little possibility for a neutral government to use bitcoin, I guess they would be interested in receiving bitcoin and deduct tax on each withdraw made by bitcoin users.

Definitely more regulations will be coming our way. And with the G20 meeting for the third time coming and with crypto regulations on top of their agenda, I'm sure that there will be a lot of debates and eventually government will have to put up their own regulations.

But I'm sure that it wouldn't have a long term effect on the price though, we might see the price suffers a little but in the long run if this regulations becomes effective and governments satisfied, crypto will flourished in the next decade or so.

You might aware that many of the governments are on the bills to regulate crypto currency. Personally in my country i cannot buy Crypto currencies using Fiat & some are not operated in our territory. With the huge amount of money flooding in to crypto field scams happening in every corner & some of groups manipulating the market only for profit. These negative remarks leave new investors in a doubt & let governments to regulate it. In order to avoid these circumstances i personally think regulations will be applied soon. As you know there are limits in many exchanges to withdraw & it has some regulations within the Crypto space as well. But as you mentioned it shouldn't be hammered us & early adopters will have some good gains before some major regulations applied.

The government will do everything they have to have control, they may even have their own exchange as part of the solution. Its not going to be surprising if that happen. The only possible way to get some taxes are thru the exchanges and it might happen soon, exchanges today are popping out, some are doing ICO and one in particular is supported by media like Level01 which is supported by REUTERS. Reuters?

In present, Bitcoin, being one of the best cryptocurrencies, the community is constantly growing and it is also expected that it will grow more in future and even if it is on some conditions, there would be a time on when every country will partially be dependant on Bitcoin.

There could be more regulations on the crypto currency, depending on the country. Some countries are very strict while the other are quite lenient and are more in favor of the crypto currency market. This mainly happens because the government has a fear regarding illegal activities because the transactions cannot be traced.

Oh yes indeed. I do think so. My reason being that most countries are silent on this whether to make it legal or illegal. And as they say, silent means concern. Meaning those who haven't made any stand on it yet are thinking about what to do next to regulate it. In the same way, those who have already regulated are also planning on making it more regulated ,and so I think we can no more run from that.

Most countries are silent about bitcoin, and they are still concerned. What is really forbidden is ICO or some places that are on the verge of breaking the law. Moreover, I think that will soon be in contact with the ban on Bitcoin.

Some countries have already introduced certain rules for the use of cryptocurrencies. But I do not think that bitcoin will obey other people's rules. It is unique and it has its own laws. While the government of some countries can not decide how to deal with cryptocurrency people still continue to produce and use it.In order to take taxes from the crypto currency, it is necessary that its production be recognized as entrepreneurial activity.

Which could be the result of trust. Investors will result to trusting the market when its regulated by an entity or the government itself. I don't know if the anon developers are going to be open for this regulations. It does mean that if something happen to the market like it will collapse just like what happen to wallet street to government will intervene right?

I believe that the regulation of crypt currency sphere is necessary only for the crypto-currency market to become more stable. This will give investors more confidence and they will begin to develop this sphere more actively. However, I insist that regulation should be made by the participants of the crypto sphere, and not by third parties.

We will have much more rules regardless of the actual Bitcoin with no issue its marketplace. It is currently happening gradually. It is as much as all of us to simply accept this or even refuse this as well as increase the tone of voice. Creating a foreign currency doesn't have made use of in the event that ultimately it's controlled. Essentially, Bitcoin was made to obtain back again a few privateness and also to reduce government authorities as well as banking institutions.

But it is all depend on us if we accept those regulation or not. I personally believe that more stringent regulations on Bitcoins and other altcoins will make them more safer for mass adoption. Many people get into cryptocurrencies without giving much thought about the scams, the high volatility of them and make huge loses trading them. Centralized bodies should intervene and regulated the use, trade and invest of cryptocurrencies. I think involvement of regulatory bodies is justified since almost all are going to convert cryptos in to fiat, which is a centralized currency.

Government will always try to regulate bitcoin regardless of the price but when its price will surge like crazy tax department will get crazy and hungry for quick hot bucks. Many countries have already placed heavy taxes on crypto related gains as capital gains after last year surge. I expect taxes to rise more on crypto if price will start to make another big run again.

Governments and tax officers are trying to squeeze every profit citizen have ever made by holding bitcoin from the start date. One of the major drawback is that you can't always provide enough documents to show the origin of fund for tax purposes which create more problem even if you are willing to legally earn bitcoin or cryptocurrencies.

There's not many regulations, except for KYC regulations for exchanges, and the countries that have banned crypto. Governments see crypto as an asset, they would just put taxes on the capital gains which almost half of the countries have. And stop building castles in the air when it comes to price.

I think the government can make more regulations for cryptocurrency but mostly against fraud, theft, money laundering and many more illegal stuffs. It is their duty to protect their people and since cryptocurrency is an unstoppable trend as of the moment, if they won't be able to get full control of it with their own hands, they will control it indirectly using regulations. The government will never have full control because there are private companies working with cryptocurrencies as well and that is beyond their control. Their only role is to assure that everything in operation that involves crypto is legal and is not harming any group of people or any living thing.

The government wouldn't let this opportunity to pass to get some money from the people who earn from it. There would be a huge addition to funds then if they can track the people who are earning from it and then levy tax. As what I have observed from our country, those local exchanges that were issued licenses require its users to provide documents for KYC to prevent illegal activities and I can sense that eventually they will have taxes in the transactions because it is easier for the government to collect it from one place than for them to collect it individually.

As for regulations, it is unavoidable I think because the more people getting involved in cryptocurrency, the more the government wanted to control it so they will have more regulations applicable to it. It would make more people trust cryptocurrency though because there are already legal implications related to it.

Yes there would be big possibilities that regulations become more strict towards cryptocurrency when its price would reach to $100,000.Thats alot of money for only one bitcoin.

I am sure that there will be any regulation from the government as I think they don't like to see cryptocurrency is grown too fast and they are not ready to see the changing of the finances system. maybe someday, they will add tax for cryptocurrency user so we need to pay some amount to back up the economy of the country. or maybe they will make a new law that will control cryptocurrency user

I do not think the government will let the Cryptocurrency market grow so easily. Because a market with too high a market capitalization will be heavily regulated by the government. By the way it will affect the economy of the world. The early Crypto market will want to be protected and become healthier if market capitalization is high.

In the recently concluded meeting of G20 summit for cryptocurrencies, they decided to wait some recommendations from other countries implementing the rules or regulations for the cryptocurrency exchanges. Regulations can't be avoided and many countries are planning to make their own regulation based on the recommendation. It will be implemented to protect users and investors from scams and illegal use of any cryptocurrency.

I agree for that because we need regulations for cryptocurrency so that we have a good security and protection from hackers and scammers in which we can give less cases and problems, so that it will be more safe and legitimate for those investors and miners in this industry of cryptocurrency.

If they have to make regulations, they have to do it right now because if they are afraid of money laundering a lot of us had already done it and got away already. If Germany did it and Japan, how come these countries can't do it on their own fast as there are just days and weeks passed they are missing a lot of things already.

Bitcoin is decentral and bitcoin itself has no team, so for regulation on bitcoin it is not possible, there is only regulation on users, of course users who want to use bitcoin in that country, as the Chinese state does, ie forbidding users to use bitcoin and even crypto exchanger in china also closed. For regulation with reasonable excuses is not bad because on the other hand the government is considering things that will happen later.

Bitcoin taxation would be an excellent way to help countries make a significant tax from Crypto. But they must know who owns Bitcoin to tax them, or they will rule out taxation. The easiest way is to impose the exchanges that based in that country.

Definitely Yes I agree with you mate. Government should create standard regulation in bitcoin. Regulation that the people can benefits not the government. They should create rules and regulations that would help cryptocurrency used only in legal transactions.  In that way, cryptocurrency will grow more and more.

the government isn't just going to tax you for having something. otherwise you will have to pay them till the end of your time. what they do is that they tax you when you trade bitcoin and make profit on exchanges which happen to be centralized and have KYC implemented. that way they know you and also they take a part of your profit.

Currently, due to the slack regulations of cryptomarket, frauds and crimes have chances to happen. So I think more regulations are necessary.

Countries would only accept the crypto currency if they can get the good amount of tax form their citizens which will help the economy to grow and further strengthen their development plans. Else their is no point for them to just legalize it and with so many scam their investigation will take so much time and efforts and waste of money .

I am thinking that more of the regulations and banning are coming in the near future. Government will not allow bitcoin to continue on its nature of being decentralized because they believe it is a tool for tax evasion and could be used to sponsor terror or drugs. The claim because bitcoin is highly anonymous so tracking who send or receive    what will be difficult and hence may encourage illicit transactions. So more regulations is still on the way.

The funny part about your extremely accurate comment is that different governments are COMPETING behind closed doors for "regulating" it best. If one governments regulation is too strict (like India's), then people create a black market economy that leaves the banks in their country with less money.

If it's banned, people from other countries earn a LOT more for selling crypto to people in that country. So Rupee's for example, get traded for USD or BTC while India banks have to pretend the Rupee will stop dropping like it has been for two years.

There will be TWO markets for crypto regardless.... people that want to do illegal things will just use a "privacy" Altcoin or a bitcoin mixer, rather than Bitcoin. People who don't do illegal things will speculate on that altcoin because they it will increase in value as more people adopt the "unregulated" crypto.

The primary aim of cryptocurrency regulation by most of the governments is to protect the holders and investors from any illegal use of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. These cryptocurrencies can be use with ease by some people who are using the coins for money laundering, drug trafficking and other illegal activities so the governments are trying to ensure that the coins will be used according to the law.

Regulations are very important in the crypto market. Once these are in order the price of AML BitCoin will go up every single day.

I hope that with regulations will give some protection to the user so they don't have to be afraid to join in the cryptocurrency. so far, people still think about to join or not and they are really scared about getting scam. and if the regulations apply, I think this will help them and makes them join in the cryptocurrency. besides that, this will push the price to stay at one high price and the cryptocurrency will grow more in the future.

Because when the rules are made Bitcoin will be much more developed, when the existing rules then everyone will be more confident in using Bitcoin. It is a thing that can not be avoided because the rules are the most needed today. When regulation has been made then Bitcoin price will be much more stable and price volatility can also be much more awake.

No one can govern, manipulate cryptocurrency even the government they can't control if they put rule and regulation to regulatr the world cryptocurrency i agree because it can less risk and avoid some scammers we cannot be afraid to invest and trade in cryptocurrency because we know that have an regulation to less those scammers. Government cant control special bitcoin they can manipulate the value and it is centralize.
In fact, almost all government inherently don’t interested in bitcoin anymore, they just want to control the crytocurrency  market in their two cent. But definitely we will get more regulations for bitcoin and many more coins, but it also depends on each country that they encourage bitcoin or always keep mindset to reject or reduce the growth of it. I don’t think that government will put a good regulation on bitcoin, they maybe impose a big tax on it so that they can exploit benefit from it.

Maybe there'll be some hybrid regulations respecting the privacy on the one hand, and safeguarding the cryptomarket players? I mean, the government is determined to find a way at least to make its people pay taxes. Otherwise, I'm afraid, they might consider creating some obstacles...
I have a feeling that we need the crypto market legalized/regulated (i.e. seen by the governments as trustworthy), anyway...

Long before this time, when the price of Bitcoin was less than half of a dollar, the government did not care at all. The government even did not care much when it was below one thousand dollars. It is easy to judge from the recent price surge that the government will want to regulate if the price of Bitcoin rises. So definitely, we should expect more regulations in future.

I wont be and this is the exact goal, they want us stupid, they need us obedient and questions free, in order to rule more (d)effectively.
Remember, regulation equals defraudation. Anybody that is pro regulatory is a misled sheep, on its way to the slaughterhouse.

In my opinion, regulation for the better development of bitcoin as well as for the people being part of it. If it is good for the country and for the people then lets make it for the better future.

Of course, there will be more international and local legal regulations of cryptocurrencies in the future. Every existing asset should be regulated. A lot of countries already implement blockchain in their in their transaction systems and other countries accept cryptocurrencies as a payment mean and even create their own national cryptos. No governmental institution will allow crypto transactions and exchange to fiat money by the banks without the strict existing regulation.
But the process of implementation will take time. Because it is hard to achieve the common approach to defining its legal status and creating a unified international legal regulation of this asset. Negotiations on the international level take a lot of time and require a lot of meetings. This process can take up to several years.

Regulations should be in place to help with illegal activities with Bitcoin. But no enn6 was abused to capture all the information as it did with paper money. If the information is too much government control, it will lose Bitcoin's privacy. That reduces the advantage of Bitcoin.

I believe that when the market capitalization of bitcoin or all cryptocurrencies equals the annual turnover of several countries in the world, then the Governments will think very seriously about the rules of regulation. Many governments and States do not fully understand the opportunities and prospects for the growth of blockchain technology and all cryptocurrencies. Rules will be, in many States they already appear.

A lot of thoughts on this issue, but the fact that bitcoin will cost $ 100,000, then I have no doubt. The market of cryptocurrencies is gaining very high momentum and I think that this market needs regulation. A lot of manipulation is now and ordinary people lose money. Therefore, in the next few years we will see regulation in different countries.

For countries that have received bitcoins with good effect They will raise taxes for all cryptocurrency users in their country. But I am a bit confused given the volatile bitcoin prices so the rules they make will always change. while countries that ban their bitcoin will be indifferent to bitcoin price changes. But there is little possibility for a neutral government to use bitcoin, I think they would be interested in receiving bitcoin and cutting taxes on every withdrawal made by bitcoin users.

yeah the could be a possibility for more regulations on crypto but i believe it won't affect crypto. When the market cap rises hugely and Bitcoin price gets very high, governments will fear to ban because at that time many people might have invested (even the government themselves) and so they'll just regulate it to protect it to live longer.

Too much regulation announcements, most of people will think that all of those activities only gives a bad effect on bitcoin's growth. such as lack volume of trading, even its also happened to big exchange.

So i mean why if there's a regulation just keep silent and if there's a chance bitcoin to be a legal then make it a good announcement.

More Regulation from Government on crypto currency?  This issue has been in raise several times, yes, Government want to Regulate  Bitcoin digital crypto currency transaction in the market, they even discussed of Taxation on Bitcoin transaction, all of this are just few issues that Bitcoin is confronting on the daily bases. I am optimistic that this things will be resolved in favor of Bitcoin.

Yes, I think that over time, governments will introduce new and new restrictions on the use of decentralized crypto currency. The fact is that decentralized crypto-currency in general to the state is not only not needed, it only brings the state some problems. Therefore, under the pressure of its citizens, who need such a crypto currency, the state will agree to its use, but it will not actively support it. To counterbalance the decentralized crypto currency, states will introduce their national centralized crypto currency. In addition, using different situations, states, under the guise of caring for their citizens, will drive various restrictions on its circulation. Most likely, the state will want to have all the information about the movement of the crypto currency and about the people who are engaged in it. As far as they can, time will tell.

Governments can not actually regulate Bitcoin etc as they are decentralised-therefore no one person, organisation etc to regulate. Yes, I think, policy makers from various countries are taking steps to provide regulations for individuals and businesses on how to integrate bitcoin with formal financial system regulations. On the one hand it will be a grace because it can make bitcoin publicly available, but on the one hand, Bitcoin can also be complicated by strict regulations, so it is difficult to determine what percentage of users will still use bitcoin.

In my opinion, I believe if government will be able to control cryptocurrency, they will definitely put regulations for it. Too much or too less of something is not good. I think it is simply for the betterment and benefit of everyone if people think of it positively. It his how you will perceive and react about it. As of now, what bitcoin should be doing is to first be accepted by every country worlwide. How it will show the government its pros and overcoming its cons.

And there probably will be a lot more once mass adoption takes place and crypto is firmly established. Some regulations are needed while of course there will also be a  few  that will just try to suppress this market. But in general, crypto will not grow to where it should be without regulations.

As long as the regulations not making crypto worse, then it will be good for us. For now, there are still some countries not allowing to using crypto, but if there are regulations, they maybe consider to allow it.

Its true. regulations may not be making bitcoin more valuable in the future, although there will be an adoption later on but if government are going to be involve to its growth, they will be deciding its price. There were some users expressing their views about ETF will be used for bitcoin if approved and the price will not grow in the end.

indeed the growth of bitcoin will not be hampered by any government regulation, as we know the system of bitcoin is decentralized, bitcoin does not have a center. We are the management, we who make this bitcoin grow and be valuable, any government has no rights about it.
I really hope that bitcoin will be recognized by any government in the future, bitcoin has changed the economy of some people for the better, the government must support that, technology is growing, we are not just silent following the rules of the government that harm us

I think Basically, Bitcoin was created to regain some privacy and free from the government and banks
We will see more regulations no matter Bitcoin and no matter the market. It's been slow. It's up to us to accept or reject it and raise our voice. Making a currency is useless if it is finally arranged.

If they do ban it, it will be under the guise of saying it's because it funds terrorism, drugs and human trafficking etc. Then a govt could ban in country exchanges.People could still buy through "black market" exchanges in other countries but this greatly increases the risks of scams, funds being stolen, identity theft etc. Demand for crypto would certainly drop

From 2009 up now 2018, bitcoin growth has a good effect for the business minded persons. Then, it became trend and popular in the entire world without the regulations of the government. Meaning, the government had nothing to do with it to make more better, instead it will be a headache for us being a users of altcoins or bitcoin. Therefore, decentralization was still a good concepts of bitcoin.

I think more regulations will be good in the long run. Sometime due to the lack of strong regulations many come into crytocurrencies with bad intentions and in the process harm many people who are genuinely interested in cryptos as well as blockchain technology. This is detrimental to the future of cryptocurrencies because governments and other authorities who are mainly in the traditional financial industry can use it to ban or severely block spreading of cryptocurrencies among the general public. Thus having strong, extensive regulations at the onset is a good thing in the long run of this valuable asset!

Because regulators have not given sufficient clear regulatory measures to the cryptocurrency industry, it has damped the enthusiasm of many people in the industry. At the same time, these regulators did not agree on what cryptocurrency is: a security? A commodity? A property? Although many startups say they are doing their best to comply with US securities regulations when issuing digital tokens for financing, uncertainty still hangs over the market. In addition, the use of cryptocurrencies for the continuous emergence of illegal activities such as money laundering, these issues require the government to strengthen supervision to solve.

For reasons of avoiding anomalies and dilemmas and safeguarding the good of crypto.Rules are created and impose for public security using cryptocurrency and therefore must be regulated so that no abuse will be taken by some opportunists to make millions of money for example for icos then escape investor money if there is no This cryptocurrency right regulation will be very risky for all users.

I do not think that is the case.

As you can see these past few years, there are lots of scam cases towards cryptocurrency.  Many unsuspecting investors became victim to these scams.  So government, in order to protect their citizen act accordingly.  That is regulating cryptocurrency and make sure that the company or people behind will be verified so that in case a problem arise, government knows who is responsible behind the problem.

I don't hope so that the governments are really trying to study the blockchain transactions and also they don't usually show any much interest into thr world of cryptos. Cryptocurrencies actually is not regulated by the government and also it only makes some movement onto the demand and supply of the users.

Also I don't think that cryptocurrencies need any more regulations as already it is doing great as it is now. Also i think that several peoples have now started to draw some attention towards the cryptos even if it is not regulated by the centralised firm. Cryptocurrencies only stay best untill they are decentralised.

Most of the governments have also started to accept bitcoins legally and bitcoins are growing much well there. What we all need is some great support from the users so that cryptocurrencies can really bloom up.

Decentralized crypto currency is very unprofitable for any state. Therefore, the government will always be under various noble pretexts to further introduce various restrictions that prevent the free use of crypto currency . Of course, in each state the degree of this regulation will be different depending on its civiliza- tion, the degree of rights and freedoms of citizens, and how citizens themselves can influence their government. However, I think that, in general, the situation with the use of crypto currency will be complicated.

I think if the government fully have control over crypto currency then crypto currency will loose their identity as a decentralization project. However, few regulations would be good, like imposing tax on it. People will consider it legalized and the demand for it will increase more further.

cryptocurrency was not initially designed to have any form of regulations or any kind of influence as it is the norms of the conventional currencies and the banks. i think the blockchain technology will not be the same if the regulations or sanctions or any form of tax is implemented but then you can not effect the tax system in the blockchain technology

Bitcoin is already regulated by Rules– Computer algorithm with Community's supervision unless you want a Centralized regulation–Govt type regulation?

If government regulates Bitcoin it automatically becomes fiat.

Regulation will destroy most important features of Bitcoin, like the decentralization, Censorship resistance, permissionless, and immutablity,

 Corruption will takeover.

Even Printing Bitcoin out of thin air may become possible.

But I am convinced Bitcoin cannot be regulated.

* The way out for a clever government is to create "rival coin, gives it the value/appearance of Bitcoin and slowly replacing Bitcoin with it on Centralized platforms.
* Or the total control of the Internet.

And if this is happening, then I think we need to obey the rule and show to them that the cryptocurrency user follows their regulation and we don't want to break any rules.

Even as at now that cryptocurrency price is low and bitcoin is at $6500, there is much talk about regulating it. High price of cryptocurrencies will surely attract regulations.

Price I think is irrelevant when it comes to the government on deciding what regulations they are making. If they based their regulations due to the price having insane amounts it will be unfair and not justifiable as they are actually trying to control the prices of Bitcoin with their laws which I think is wrong. Right now the regulations being created is a way to avoid criminal activities which some of them are related to money laundering, tax evasions, buying and selling of drugs, and funding terrorism which I can say is the right track in supporting cryptocurrencies.

If we free bitcoin from any regulations that would be better than we should impose some taxes and country regulations because then it will be like fiat money which is fully controlling by countries and in the world people are happy if they have no check and balance and it is a good way to save your funds with out any tax upon it.

I hope that if the government will regulate bitcoin, then only to a minimum extent. Otherwise, the crypto currency will really lose its feature and there will be no special sense to use it, since the control of the government equates it to ordinary currencies.

I think regulation will only produce something beyond expectation, my point here is that it is more likely to be the worst after regulation. Since the existence of bitcoin and until last year the market situation has been running normally. But with the government regulation on cryptocurrency, this adds more problem

Government must be creating more regulation if bitcoin price always increasing. Beside they want to collect more taxes, government do not want losing control on money circulation.

More regulations are coming that is undeniable, the real question is if the regulations are going to stop the massive adoption of cryptocurrencies, and I do not think that is going to be the case because if governments regulate cryptocurrencies those actions give legitimacy to cryptocurrencies in the eyes of the public and that means that more people are going to adopt them.

They can just do that and go with it if they really want it don't you think? There are a lot of people investing on cryptocurrencies and mos of them are millionaires. Government can just apply tax if they want to collect more from their people but they did not, proof that they don't really want it.

Maybe in the future when cryptos are so damn popular that almost everyone knows it and more than half of the population of this world or these countries are using it every single day. I can't imagine the blockchain's state if that happens but hey, I am still stating some things that might make the government apply tax on Bitcoin though I hope that it don't happen.

Consequences like what? There are a lot of countries that embraced and regulated Bitcoin as it is and until now, they are not regretting that they regulated it since there are a lot of people visited their country for that certain purpose.

Bitcoin is having a low volatility these past months staying at the price of $6K. I think if this continues, it will be a high probability that Bitcoin will be more used as payment method than a investment and that may lead to more countries regulating Bitcoin in the future.

Yes i agree, regulations aim to protect people from illegal activities that uses bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. These illegal activities involves online scams, money laundering and illicit drug trades that common in  the so called dark web. Many countries are now planning to impose it but it may vary in implementation in each country. Like you see the ICO scams happening around can be deterred to a minimum level when combated with the good crypto environment in a country. Yes, in order for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency to go normally in the state, the state must legalize them and establish rules for circulation. Such regulation should be inevitable. However, in the future, I also believe that the states will establish additional rules of circulation; this is also inevitable. See more regulations not always mean a bad thing for the crypto. It may be good if the government of your nation has accepted the bitcoin and their rules and regulations are also allowing the market to work in an efficient manner, thus leading to better market conditions. Not all the countries work this way, in fact!! There are many countries that make it difficult for the crypto currency market to function in those countries and have led many problems for the people.

PS: Regulations in many countries have led to reduced scams and also lesser darkuse of the crypto coins!

While having wider adoption of cryptocurrencies across the world that has led to greater innovation, is vital to running businesses and societies. It is essential to have regulation, supervision and global coordination.

My thoughts exactly. And I think with regulation, people will trust in crypto more. Because the purpose of regulation is our sake too, right? To ensure our money is safe and that we’re protected? So yes. I am in favor of having cryptos regulated -to a certain extent. :)

I prefer to see crypto regulation for transaction limits in one day for each wallet, and tax for that transaction. then guarantee if there is crypto theft, and the perpetrator must be arrested and punished severely.

It is obvious at least to me that as cryptocurrencies become more and more valuable that we are going to see a greater amount of regulation applied to them, this is not really surprising governments understand very well that cryptocurrencies can create a lot of problems for them in the long term and they are trying to prevent that, but unfortunately for them they are going to fail.

I think if the government fully have control over crypto currency then crypto currency will loose their identity as a decentralization project. However, few regulations would be good, like imposing tax on it. People will consider it legalized and the demand for it will increase more further.
you are very right if indeed the government crypto currency is regulated it will likely have a positive and negative impact will also be obtained if indeed the government cooperates with crypto currencies the security problems of our assets are likely to be guaranteed

If it is true that bitcoin can reach that level, it can be ascertained that there will be a big rumble in the world economy. That will have a tremendous impact, and some countries might try to control it using various methods. Somehow I have a bad feeling if bitcoin reaches that high price. What if that makes it a bubble, it's very scary to imagine.

The regulations are really playing a major role in the recent market status as we can observe that the bitcoin usual price volatility has been in check in some way. I do hope it will be for a time as bitcoin is meant to be volatile in nature.

Not sure if banks are controlled by government or government is controlled by banks  ;)

Either way, I don't think that cryptos are alarming to banks or governments at all. If anything it gives them even greater leverage than FIAT money to control and regulate people.

The space can not be regulated that is what I think. Governments  heading  to exchanges and getting them to obtain KYC information is only going to be a temporal attempt at regulating the space. India placed a ban on RBI, how is that coming up? I just think those who own these exchanges can just save us the trouble, and lets go DEX, that way all of these nonsense wil end. KYC is the only major regulation I see, plus people who are scared of being shown the way out of their businesses going to parley with regulators. It won't help us. Kudos to CZ.

Government regulations is inevitable but they can only impose it on present crypto exchanges because most of them are centralized. Almost all cryptocurrencies are decentralized in nature so it is not possible for any government to impose regultions on them. In the future, government will also deal with another kind of crypto exchange  called DEX or decentralized exchange.

Yes, after the state legalizes cryptocurrency, it will continue to establish additional rules for the circulation of cryptocurrency, since from time to time various unforeseen situations will arise that will require further regulation. In addition, I think that over time, the state will establish an increasingly rigid framework for circulation of decentralized cryptocurrency, since, in general, it is not profitable for the state.

I believe that such regulations will occur with the use of cryptocurrencies. Knowing how much useful cryptocurrencies are and how big the  amount of money is moving across each projects or ICOs, there is no wonder why some other countries who do have so many things to lose would keep cryptocurrency on hold due to the fear that it might affect their economy. That is why some countries ban it not because it is useless but because they are yet studying it. They wanted to know if allowing it would be very beneficial to them. Yet I am positive as you are that such regulation would not block the development or progress in the use of cryptocurrencies especially bitcoin.

We all need to wait until there is a regulation that definitely states that crypto is a legal financial system to use. government factors can very clearly influence the direction of the development of cryptocurrency very significantly. My vision need to start regulation from ico
Those people that left the market because the prices have not presented as much movement as before were not enthusiast they were nothing but speculators looking for fast profits and it can be argued that we are better without them, however the problems with KYC policies are real since this has slowed down the innovation in the ico market and this is one of the many reasons for the huge amount of scams in the market.

Governments will understandably fight to regulate it and already have started (it's banned in some countries). If regulations are put in place, the purpose of decentralization is defeated. Once the need for exchanges to make transactions is gone, they won't be able to regulate cryptocurrencies even if they tried.

When the time comes where Bitcoin & all other cryptocurrency will be fully accepted and adopted by the majority worldwide, then i guess government will have great chance of imposing rules and regulations on this field. This could have both pros and cons i think. The disadvantage might be greater fees since government may impose taxes on every transaction we have. The advantage maybe this would be more organized and the scam & fraud ICOs will be lessened i guess.

To my opinion regulation in the field of cryptocurrencies is not a bad thing. It can help in many aspects like defining illegal and legal in the field of crypto, protection of users, regulation of market, introducing cryptocurrencies into economy and businesses. All this can help Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to be further adopted and introduced in the general society.
The problem is that many users see regulation just through governments control and to my opinion this is the wrong angle.

Everything will depend on the demand for bitcoin. If we talk 100k, then, first of all, we should see approval from the government. From this it follows that large investors will invest in bitcoin, and then already small investors. Therefore, I believe that the high price of bitcoin will be accompanied only by approval from the government.

However, with this kind of regulations comes with a ball and chain to the main feature of bitcoins which is decentralization.

It will all depend on the region, but similar to the internet, hopefully, every country sees the potential for innovation with blockchain, and tries to foster a pro-blockchain environment for the best startups to succeed.

Governments will understandably fight to regulate it and already have started (it's banned in some countries). If regulations are put in place, the purpose of decentralization is defeated. Once the need for exchanges to make transactions is gone, they won't be able to regulate cryptocurrencies even if they tried.
The purpose of creating crytocurrency is to facilitate transactions by eliminating the role of third parties, including banks and the government. Then, the use of blockchain is to anticipate interventions from various parties, because of decentralization. But the governments in each country take different policies , some accept and some refuse. In principle, as long as the cryptocurrency cannot be regulated it will not be accepted in the country that has been refused.

Of course in the future there will be more regulations from the government, the more people who jump into the world of crypto will increasingly make BTC prices rise and the government will use this to make a taxation process.

I am sure that the currency will continue to develop actively, and therefore the government will still have to make a decision on it. In each country it will be different, someone will regulate it on the territory of their country, and someone will allow it to develop as it was conceived. And I will just hope that there will be more countries that understand the true idea of bitcoin.

I agree with your thoughts. If its price increases above $ 10,000 and even higher. I think the governments will not let it operate freely and more regulation will be applied. But I do not think these are the negative rules for bitcoin, the rules that will help bitcoin grow better in the future.

As more people join the cryptocurrency world, and as the market size and transaction volume increases, there is every likely hood that government will react. This implies having some regulations as regards crryptocurrency. The impact of the regulations on cryptocurrency growth is what really matters. Cryptocurrency exchanges might also be influenced. However, cryptocurrency enthusiasts expect the best possible regulations for the future of cryptocurrency.

I do not think that the laws and regulations of the government regarding the cryptocurrency will change somehow due to the growth of the bitcoin exchange rate. The growth of the exchange rate means only an increase in the liquidity of the product in relation to its price in the market. If it would threaten the welfare of the Fiat currency-then Yes. But while cryptocurrencies are completely dependent on Fiat currencies, this is unlikely.

First of all before it can happen to the government would conduct more regulation of bitcoin crypto currency because of the brilliant sample market price is about 100,000 USD/ bitcoin lets make adopt and approved  first the whole feature of bitcoin before it can happen. Because until now many country doesn't accept it because it can alledgely bothered their good progressive economy even if   it is sometimes leading to the top higher price which was almost 19,000 USD last December 2017.

There are a few rules that I know that 2018 will have regulations that the financiers comment. "We know that electronic money is more of a scam, so rules will help prevent that from happening." Without proper regulation, institutional investors will stay away, And the adoption will not happen, so some regulations may be useful for the industry to reassure investors and the public. "

There will be more regulation of Bitcoin. there are lots of reason l have figure out why there will be more regulations of Bitcoin , cyber crime activities are increasing on daily in the internet. lot of hacking activities perpetually ravaging the Bitcoin wallet which have make many to go bankrupt loosing their hard earn money to cyber criminals. the government will also regulate Bitcoin because of public office holder who might intentionally loot Government funding and deposit in Bitcoin wallet. and last but not the least the rate of ICO pumping up daily stealing investors Bitcoin in name of a ICO Project . in the future there will be strict measures to monitor and regulate Bitcoin.

I think, regulations by the government may have two opposite effects. Full control over cryptocurrency will destroy the original idea of decentralization. So crypto won’t be as valuable as it is now. Cryptocurrency develops naturally without any regulations. The only positive impact of regulations can be their relative stability and insurances guaranteed by governments. This way more people will be confident about their investments in crypto.

I think if the government fully have control over crypto currency then crypto currency will loose their identity as a decentralization project. However, few regulations would be good, like imposing tax on it. People will consider it legalized and the demand for it will increase more further.

I agree. With so much intervention from the government this will not be good. We can say that the cryptocurrency or the bitcoin will be the same as fiat. This is one thing that is why cryptocurrency investors or bitcoin users like it because of its nature or its characteristics.

Control will give more trust from the states, perhaps it will increase the time and approach to the design of cryptotransactions, but in general it should respond positively to the crypto market and its users. Now it seems to me that it is natural to happen before such a large increase in prices, already before the first $ 10,000 of the turn, either immediately before or immediately after.

I think there needs to be something for the crypto so that the government can accept it as a legal payment unit. For example, the government can impose taxes on it as a means to better control it
dont worry that is will happen sooner or later. of course the government will not allow bitcoin to develop without the benefits obtained by the government. OP is right that the government will not remain silent seeing bitcoin have a price that is rushing and a big marketcap. while the government does not have any part. regulations will definitely be made

yes I agree with you I think that regulation will not inhibit the development of cryptocurrency. because with regulations made by the government, people will think cryptocurrency is legal and they will be interested in investing in cryptocurrency. and with the existence of government regulations can take taxes from cryptocurrency and tax is useful for the government and the people. so that cryptocurrency is regulated that is fine, as long as the regulation does not eliminate the nature of decentralized cryptocurrency.

I think that over time there will be more rules from regulators. Bitcoin entered our lives and took place in it. In the end, perhaps Bitcoin ownership will be taxed.
The more the price of Bitcoin rises, the greater will be the desire of regulators to control it.

If they make regulations with good intentions, I can support it. In many countries, people have no idea how to pay even taxes after incomes from crypto, because Bitcoin can not be categorised by the law. So I think, a little bit regulation could even help the adoption of cryptocurrencies. But it should not depend on the Bitcoin's dollar value IMO.

regulations are good for Crypto and Bitcoin if they are inclusive of crypto as an asset class. I understand Bitcoin is a decentralized virtual currency that is its own" central bank"..... meaning that government cannot really be able to control or influence it's activities.
So even if government wants in ,how do they intend asserting control over Bitcoin.
Your guess is as good as mine.
Although I am of the school of thought that regularization would pave way for Mass adoption.....the question remains, how?

I think that a number of measures should be taken on regulation, especially on ico. both the bitcoin and the investors are hurting because of this and more unnecessary projects.
I agree with you, fraud fraud ico must be dealt with firmly because many people who are cheated even make people feel frustrated and lazy to invest ico again. This end happened a lot to me, even though I had chosen it carefully and the best and finally it was a scam, maybe it wasn't my luck.

They dont want Crypto get bigger and famous more than now, becaise it gonna be threat for their national currency. So, i dont think goverment will regulate it even bitcoin reach $100k.

of course it will not hamper, whatever the government applies the applicable regulations, bitcoin or the like will have no effect. on the one hand there are many people who are involved with bitcoin, so that bitcoin's income continues to rise, even though the market is cheap though. that's a distinct advantage for bitcoin.

The reason we are not seeing more countries banning cryptocurrencies is because they get that if they do that they are not going to have justification to do it, so they are trying to create the narrative that bitcoin is used by criminals to try to make people back their proposal but it seems that no one cares and so they cannot move forward with their agenda of banning bitcoin.

I think the more regulations bitcoin have the more people will probably tend to use fiat money rather than bitcoins. Fact is, today, since bitcoins are expensive to use and slow to transfer,  lot of people still opt for money. But then again, if you want a transfer with personal touch, then bitcoins are the best option.

it is a very good question, whether cryptocurrency should have more regulations or no. On the one hand, with taxes and all the standard regulations all the current investors who use bitcoin will highly likely quit. There are particular reasons, why they keep their assets in crypto, one of them is anonymity, another is exactly lacking standard regulations. On the other hand, it may increase the demand because a lot of ordinary people will get into the mainstream. In that case, in my humble opinion, cryptocurrency will become just another kind of online money.
