These companies, under a regulated environment, will issue their tokens backed by their respective market caps. In a way, these institutionalized digital assets will prove to be an alternative investment system in addition to equities.

“It makes sense that any company out there who has a cap table should have their token,” Armstrong said. “Every open source project, every charity, potentially every fund or these new types of decentralized organizations [and] apps, they’re all going to have their tokens.”

Coinbase, the U.S. company Armstrong heads, is one of the world’s largest bitcoin and altcoin exchanges by trading volume. They have only recently entered the U.K. markets to tap the growing crypto-user base in the country. Previously, it had been working actively in the U.S. and Europe, and it has amassed over 13 million users to date. That makes it 32.5 percent of the overall crypto-users — arguably, anyway.

Armstrong plans to expand Coinbase to more global territories. They have recently announced their plans to open new offices in Africa.

Well that's a reasonable prediction at least, given the track record of adoption of cryptocurrencies across the world and countries that slowly watering down the strict rules and regulations of set up by their government, by 2023 we can definitely expect at least a billions of people either investing or being partially affiliated with cryptocurrency related industries.

It is a huge task to reach the billion mark, but it will happen in the future as it is difficult to predict that kind of adoption in five years time, the huge amounts that you are talking about came from a few big investors and not because of mass adoption, in order to have mass adoption we need more merchants accepting bitcoin and if that is the case we will have those numbers pretty soon.

 I think this is possible to happen after 5 years,, many people now are using  bitcoin and other cryptocurrency to transact like payment mode or sending money. Well it may not even take 5 years for us to have 5 billion users. You see prominent people like elon musk openly praising it's potential and people will flock to it. We've come a long way in 10 years and the growth over the last 3 years is an indication that there will be mass adoption to come.

As we grow older, we realize that bitcoin is really good and in the future the mass adoption will happen. I think we can go beyond on that level, it may not be in the next 5 years but it will happen in time. Bitcoin is still young, we can still buy and hold for good.

Maybe it's going to be the future but it's faster to digitize everything just like paying home bills, thus making the bitcoin a bit faster because it makes our transaction or things easier that we have to go and instead go there we can pay it even when we're at home, so it's okay to use bitcoin and hopefully get people to use bitcoin too.

i believe this too. Though so many people doubt or are skeptical about bitcoin today, I believe soon enough within few years or in 5 years as Brian Armstrong has said,lots of people will become comfortable with the technology and adopt and accept it as a means of payment. Theres alot of bitcoin user outside bitcointalk so in totality there are many people using this outside our knowledge and by this Brian Armstrong is almost right now and what more after another 5 years(when people are more adopting computerized things than physical and this is the specialization of bitcoin

We are strong and believing that it will go through that way but as you've said, it takes many years to come before it happen.

I will not be surprise if more than one-third of the world's population use cryptocurrency in the next five or few years to come. Cryptocurrency community and its adoption is growing with the emergence of new projects which offer real-life usage of some coins on the market. I agree with your opinion, one billion bitcoin users in 5 years. Most Bitcoin users are in developed countries, so users spread faster and multiply because the system that was born and developed in developed countries is very easy to adopt in developing countries.
Especially if the system is easy and generates benefits for users, it is certainly increasingly popular, so that 1 billion people use bitcoin is not impossible.

Just like the creator said, Satoshi is not also sure about the mass adoption but since we are slowly showing a big support on cryptocurrency, i think we can achieve this. This is possible even earlier than 5 years. Bitcoin is going mainstream and getting the whole idea about crypto.
