Some Advice

There are questions being asked if it the right time to buy. Others are asking if they should sell. Buy now because these prices are still cheap, and do not sell because the prices will get much higher!!! This is just the beginning of the climb. BC is NOT going to be dumped as other coins have in the past. This is not the kind of coin you sell off for cheap, we have proven that. Also, some of you thought Blackout Wednesday was over hyped and a bust, and today days after our successful promotion we are trading at 0.12 a coin!!! Last week was just the beginning!!! We have something coming very soon that will make last week seem boring. So do not make the mistake of selling like you did before 10,000 sat or you will be kicking yourself you didn't listen.

We can’t have a sunny Sunday evening without another BlackCoin article, can we? I know you’ve all been waiting for this, just admit it!

Either way, I’ll try and keep it short this time, or else I might have to register BlackCoinArticles.com soon as well….

Yesterday, Moolah sent out a tweet about possibly removing BlackCoin from Prelude.io because there wasn’t enough volume. If BlackCoin as to be removed from Prelude.io, it also wouldn’t be supported by Moolah in the future.

In order to even out the playing field, there had to be at least 50 Bitcoin in trading volume for BlackCoin on the Prelude.io exchange. Not an easy task, you might say.

Oh how wrong you would be. In little over eight hours, the trading volume on Prelude had overshot the 50 Bitcoin target, and BlackCoin will be supported by Moolah for future projects.

Coming off the heels of getting funded within several hours for CoinKite, you seen see the desire, passion and eagerness from the BlackCoin community to move this coin forward.

Interview with Blackcoin: Succeeding in the Alt-Market

The Blackcoin team sees Blackcoin contending to be one of the top crypto-currencies.

Despite launching with no fanfare, and overcoming a hard-fork early in development, Blackcoin today sits ranked #6 by market value, and #3 by trading volume – an impressive feat considering how cluttered the cryptocurrency market is.

CryptoCoinsNews’ own Vasilije Markovic (Serbian contributor) had a chance to speak with the developer behind Blackcoin, as well as the Community Manager and other investors.  We wanted to know what sets Blackcoin apart and what drives them into the future –  and they provided ample answers.
Proof of Stake

Proof of stake is the process by which Blackcoin secures the network; it rewards those who hold Blackcoin with roughly 1% annual interest on their holdings.  Instead of proof of work, which Bitcoin uses, rat4 (developer of Blackcoin) felt proof of stake was important for security reasons:

    Proof of work mining turned into madness.  People mine to get profit instead of secure coins, and halving the mining reward loses miners – and security.  It’s a big problem, proof of stake looks like a good replacement.

Community Manager Soepkip added:

    I think mostly it’s a way to finally proof that Proof of Stake has a place in this world. Originally Satoshi Nakamoto envisioned his bitcoin project to be mined with your own computer at home. Proof of Stake does that.

    It’s security needs to be tested longterm.

    You can see the [security risk] effect [of proof of work] with Dogecoin.  How many times have you seen a certain mining pool with 51% of the hashing power.

The concerns of mining pool hash-power are not unfounded, just this week Wafflepool surpassed 51% hashing power on the Dogecoin network, as covered in our weekly Dogecoin addition.
The Inflation Problem

 Because proof of stake will reward Blackcoiners with 1% annual interest, many were worried about inflation, even if it is very small in proportion to other digital currencies current inflation.  Early adopter @maarx commented:

    People were doing calculations. That because of “inflation,” Blackcoin would only need 0.02 bitcoins per day to “maintain value.”  So people said, “let’s make a multipool to increase distribution and get value into Blackcoin.”

    (He is describing the Blackcoin multipool which mines profitable alt-coins and uses the generated funds to pay miners in Blackcoin.)

    (Soepkip) Someone eventually stepped up (due to a bounty) and built one.  Sadly, that got so popular that the guy burned out basically, and immediately Legion Development Group stepped in.

    (Vasilije)  Are you guys satisfied with how are things developing?

    (Soepkip) They took over, rebuilt the multipool from scratch and after about three weeks of beta it’s now where it is at.  The outside world sees our Multipool as the ‘Shitcoin killer,’ while it is actually not.

    Our multipool provides liquidity for other coins since we do not dump on them, we trade manually and via algorithm trading.

Currently Blackcoin’s official multipool provides about 20 BTC in volume a day, compared to the  4,200 BTC in volume that Blackcoin had in the last 24 hours.  The team we talked to insisted that the multipool is merely a support for the larger Blackcoin ecosystem, as it also provides a hub for the community.
Investing in the Future of Blackcoin

Blackcoin had a big week; Coinkite began supporting Blackcoin, value soared, and rumors of outside investment circulated.  While those we talked to see Blackcoin as a store of value to contend with the major digital currencies, they did make it clear that resting on their laurels is not an option:

    (Soepkip)  I think the next big hurdle is getting on the bigger public’s radar, and that is what most of the projects are geared for.

    (Dibdab, an early investor) We might have a really super cool hardware giveaway for the miners later, like for real cool

    (Soepkip) Yes, that hardware give away is going to blow people’s mind. We have several project groups these days. Mostly geared towards promoting the coin inside and outside the cryptoworld.

    (Dibdab) The development is just mind boggling. Things happen so fast, and the community is so driven for Blackcoin. If you are AFK for a day you have no idea what is happening.

    (Soepkip) Indeed, I’m afraid to go to sleep these days. I just napped before the interview and people are again asking me questions about stuff I don’t even know yet.

They emphasized repeatedly how important community is, a trait that lead to much of Bitcoin’s early success, and is trumpeted by Dogecoin supporters fervently.  They briefly discussed one member’s ambitious initiative, commenting, “we will see if he is able to prove himself;” reflecting a “put up or shut up” attitude that is the backbone of the open-source world.
Final Words

What I gathered from our discussion with the Blackcoin team and investors is that they really do embody the open-source spirit.  Forks, exchange bugs leading to theft, and speculation are no threat to Blackcoin – but merely the cost of trying something new, and is to to be dealt with as they are realized.

As a result, Blackcoin has been blessed by early adopters willing to re-invest back into the coin by organizing giveaways, finding outside investors, and building web-structure.

The negative in all of this is the constant pressure on alt-coins.  Newer, more excited currencies are developed every day, and the introduction of side-chains threaten to reshape the entire ecosystem.  What can’t be changed is exactly what Blackcoin is depending on – the community.

BlackCoin Is Here to Stay



A week ago we announced Blackout Wednesday. We were mocked, made fun of, and some people suggested we were all disillusion to think BlackCoin would ever become the next BTC or even LTC. In less than 7 days not only did BlackCoin go from trading at 7100 sat to trading at a high of 94000 sat, BlackCoin crushed numerous records all in the same week. This entire community that believes in BlackCoin made this happen and we all deserve to celebrate!!!

But last week was just the beginning, we have a long way to go before we become #1. Some have claimed I am only here to pump up BlackCoin so I can dump later. Yes they are partially correct, I am here to pump up BlackCoin and keep pumping up BlackCoin until BlackCoin is #1!!! As I said before we are not here to settle for the #3 spot or even the #2 spot, we will all keep going and pushing until we bump all the other coins out the way and claim the #1 spot!!!

Dear community,

This letter is a very lengthy, and I apologize in advance for the length, but I hope everyone that has a vested interest in BlackCoin takes a moment to read it.

The past several hours has been a sobering moment for many, and I hope this community will pause to reflect on what has occurred over the past two weeks.

First I want to start by saying yesterday there was some comments made on reddit that I would like to address first: http://www.reddit.com/r/blackcoin/comments/231hv2/it_is_602_pm_in_nycdid_i_miss_it/

I have made it clear I am not part of the dev team and my actions are not that of the dev team. However, people have assumed I am part of the dev team because of my efforts to get BC out to the mainstream. I am not part of a massive plot to pump and dump BlackCoin, that is just ridiculous. I would not waste money or time building an infrastructure around BlackCoin just to watch it destroyed. If I wanted to pump and dump I would have done so already, I have no interest in selling until BlackCoin is #1, period. So please stop with the conspiracy theories.

Some people have contacted my regarding my aggressiveness when promoting BlackCoin. (I have already stated I do not do passive aggressive, I do aggressive aggressive.) Many of these people consider themselves the top "bag holders". Some people have been extremely rude and disrespectful with their comments publicly and behind the scenes. I am not going to get into a debate over who holds more BC, but between my wife and I at the height of trading we could have dumped and purchased a new house for cash and still have a bit left over for a vacation. We have multiple addresses spread evenly. My point is not to brag, I have never disclosed how much BC I hold. My point is I have never sold any of my personal BC and like many I am holding strong. BlackCoin can be worth $10.00 a coin tomorrow and I will not sell until BlackCoin is #1. So I get very annoyed when I am contacted by people who tout how much BC they own and demand that I "control" my actions. If it wasn't for my actions we would be still trading below 7000 sat and fighting with the Mint community.

I vowed I would never get involved with any coin because I think 99% of the coins are worthless and the communities are just around for a quick profit. For a short time I thought Mint had promise, but that was a very short time. When I started really paying attention to this community I realized there might be something very special here. I think rat4 is a brilliant, SoepKip has drive, and this community is loyal. It was those factors that made me want to jump in and help, not the coin itself. A coin features is not the driving factor of a coins success. Yes features are great, but it is the dev team and community that makes a coin successful. This community lacked one thing, someone to promote and hype it up.

Some people here are very naive and do not understand that without hyping and yes pumping BlackCoin we will still be at 1500 sat with 50BTC or less volume. I have a specific plan to get BlackCoin to the top, and the slow and steady approach some are advocating for is just simply stupid. My actions are not random and there is a clear path for BlackCoin to reach #1. This is not hype or delusional thinking, there is a lot going on behind the scenes to make this happen. Bitcoin has already established an infrastructure and it is getting bigger everyday. Services that support Bitcoin can easily be adapted to support BlackCoin. Train tracks laid down over a hundred years ago can still support new trains being built today. Bitcoin has done all the hard work for us already, now all we have to do is force everyone to accept us. The only way we can do that is from the bottom up.

I know rat4, Soepkip, maarx, and others behind the scenes have done a tremendous amount of work and they should be commended for their tireless efforts. But everyone has his or her strengths, and my strength is taking a product from 0 to 60 in a short time but then keeping it relevant. I have done this more times than I can count. Anyone who has invested in a business know you do not invest in an idea, you invest in the people behind the idea. You can have the best idea in the world, but if a investor does not have confidence in you, the investor will not invest in you. We have to show investors and the world BlackCoin is not a novelty and I can't do that alone. I need everyones help to make that happen.

The recent dramatic increase in trading and volume came from the promotional efforts of this entire community. It is not because of the multi-pool and I hope from this point we as a community stop focusing on the multi-pool. There is way too much psychological dependency on the buy pressure of the Multi-Pool. The multi-pool cannot sustain the buy pressure required to keep BlackCoin trading high at this level. The media campaign we did last week can be repeated and as I have stated that was just the beginning. We have to keep actively promoting BlackCoin and never stop, but I need the community to work together if we are going to succeed.

The price drop is nothing and to be honest I am glad it happened. This community needed a dramatic wake up call. You have to fight to get to the top and we have to keep fighting to stay there. This week was a dress rehearsal for the future and I hope everyone has learned from this. So much focus over the past 4 days has been on the movement of the charts, watching Mintpal, and announcing every dump that happened. Little to no focus was on what got us here in the first place, and that is getting the word out about BlackCoin. This ludicrous behavior of announcing a dump has to stop immediately. If you scream fire in a crowded movie theater you will cause panic. Many of you did that yesterday and are still doing it today. I firmly believe if people were not announcing dumps we would not be trading between 20000 - 35000. We can all see the price dropping, no need to announce it multiple times a minute.

Do not worry about this price drop, more coins to buy cheap. Dumps will happen that is the nature of trading. Dumps happen all the time with Forex and crypto is no different. I have no doubt in my mind we will be back on track when everyone calms down. Just a week ago we were trading around 7100 sat and now we are trading above 20000 sat. This is what happens when you are in the spotlight, prices go up and down dramatically. One event could bring us back to 90000 in 24 hours.

Finally....I pride myself on being a man of my word. I am an old school businessman that has done deals on a handshake. I made this community a promise I would help get us to the top, and the fundamentals to get us there are still the same. But this will only work if this community gets back to the business of being a community. It is okay to celebrate when we get to a new high, I was excited as well! But 100 pages of how many sat we went up or down is just ridiculous.

PS: To the naysayers and the people making comments about the recent price drop have your short moment of laughter, because it will not last long. All you have done is motivate the people involved to work harder. I have decided to put my personal projects on hold and focus exclusively on BC for the next 60 days. Always bet on Black and this community will get the last laugh...

An update from the Dev Team

Hey guys!

What a week it has been huh?! We got a chance to meet a lot of you in person, during the NYC Cryptocurrency Convention and the Toronto Bitcoin Expo. The out-pouring of support and interest in BlackCoin and BlackCoinPool.com, it was both humbling and amazing. Thank you to anyone who talked to us at either events, and especially thanks to people from our community that showed up to say hello.

So first things first, we have added an analyst/trader to the dev team, his job is to scour for opportunities that would secure a wider profit margin for the miners. We have also added 2 additional developers on a full time capacity, these devs have experience working with startups and building out infrastructure, and have launched many successful products themselves. They have already helped us implement a much more comprehensive and dynamic scaling solution.

Speaking of which, this weekend our server took a beating and we loved every minute of it! We peaked at around 11.7 GH/s!! To put that into perspective, we were about 1/6th the Dogecoin network. Our server was screaming, and we had to implement some really quick fixes such as upping the min-diff to 512 just to reduce server load. We have learned a big lesson from this, and diverted all of our manpower in to implementing a proper solution for scaling. Our new solution will scale comfortably to 30GH/s and more. The solution is now running live on the site, and everything so far seems to be going smoothly-- there are some minor cosmetic issues that need resolving. But other than that, the core of it is running better than we expected, and it should keep us much more flexible in the future-- it's also the beginning piece of our merged/split mining solution so that's exciting.

We have spoken with many crypto industry people, and everyone is very excited about the pool and the BlackCoin experiment. We are talking with industry leaders and are considering partnerships that would benefit our community and give us an additional competitive edge against other multipools.

We have also learned our lessons from the mayhem of this weekend, and have realized that we need a solution to mitigate or at least make it less lucrative for whales to dump.

Professional Analysis - Unexpected Good News


As I have stated before there are many things going on behind the scenes, and this morning I would like to share some promising news with the community. Just before the sell off I hired a professional analyst a friend recommended to take a look at BlackCoin and give me his professional assessment of the financial product. As an investor and businessman I need to be armed with facts and reasonable predictions moving forward into the weeks and months ahead. I am decent with numbers and reading charts, but I believe one should always enlist the help of professionals who are the best at what they do. As an analyst his job is to take emotion out of the equation and stick to the numbers and facts. This morning I received a report with unexpected news that made me immediately purchase more BlackCoins.

First an explanation on what happened within the past week.

1. Some assumed the sudden growth and the sudden sell off of BlackCoin was an orchestrated pump and dump, that was not the case. BlackCoin price explosion was the direct result of people taking notice with all the news coming out over a 5 day period. BlackCoin moving up in the charts quickly garnered the attention of investors looking to ride the wave of the next "hot" coin.

2. When we started trading above 80,000 sat there were many holders who had coins from 5000 sat and under, and for them suddenly having tens of thousands of dollars was to much to hold, so they started selling off. Do not forget there were people with over 100,000 coins and many of these people are students and/or come from poor countries. Also, many of these people are facing hard times and instantly having that much money was too much to hold onto.

3. The sell off caused a chain reaction and people in this forum and other forums thought it was an orchestrated pump and dump and started selling off quickly. The "panic" resulted in a massive sell off because of misinformation.

4. When the sell off subsided we established a floor around 14000 sat because that is where most of the new investors began investing in BlackCoin.

5. If the sell off did not happen we would be trading well above $0.60 cents or more.

What to expect next?

1. The wall set around 40000 sat is not one person, it is multiple people looking to exit. It is the level where investors who got in around 14000k want to exit, and investors who jumped on board around 40000k want to recover their losses. We will see resistance around 40000 sat for awhile until the damn breaks again.

2. We will not see another sell off that massive until we are close to $1.00 and that is when more people will be faced with lots of money and will have no choice to give in to temptation and sell.

3. Around $1.00 is where we will lose the remainder of the "weak" hands, and the "strong" hands will begin to take over and hold strong

So why did I buy more BlackCoins?

1. The sell off did not drive us below our starting point of 7100, and to be trading more than double than the starting point after a massive sell off is almost unheard of in stocks or any other financial product. And to recover in less than 48 hours is nothing less than unprecedented.

2. If the fundamentals remain the same without change, and we continue to grow at our current rate, we will be trading higher than $100 within 12 months. Past results do not predict future results. However, in BlackCoin's case proof of stake gives a constant we can use to make reasonable predictions. Unlike with Bitcoin we do not have to estimate how many coins will be mined and dumped onto the market.
a) We are adding approximately 700 - 1000 new people each week which will eventually spread the current supply thin.
b) With each sell off there will be more new holders added each holding less coins than the previous holders.
c) Supply will become significantly  less as we get closer to $1.00 but demand will increase as well which will cause the price to explode.

3. BlackCoin will grow quicker in price than Bitcoin because there are no new coins being mined to dilute the value. The coins being generated from staking is not enough to dilute the value of the coin

I just explained everything in layman's terms so everyone can understand. This is not an attempt to pump the value, I wanted everyone to be armed with the info I have. I am more bullish on BlackCoin than I was before and I will continue holding until we are #1.

This is awesome! This is the first time, as far as we are aware, that a coin community has supported a conference (let alone a conference for a different coin!). We are so thrilled that two communities can be so supportive to one another.

So, how did this come about you may ask. How did a decentralized “coin community” support an event, let alone DOGECON SF? Through crowdfunding.

Updates to the pool and V2.0 slow iterated roll out.

Hey guys,

As you know we had to take the pool down recently due to security audits that needed to be performed. It was at that time we also decided that our old platform was just not cutting it anymore.

So we have decided to roll out our V2.0 backend. It's been running for almost 20 hours now, and it's been stable, as well as a lot easier for us to deal with, manage and administrate.

It will take us some time before stats/my miner page will be showing, the mean time you can visit http://stats.blackcoinpool.com to see the overall pool stats. User stats will soon follow, but will take some time, as this is a complete overhaul. This is just merely a stop gap solution until we get our full frontend up and running.

As you may have noticed, we are now mining using a Split Mining solution, this lets us split up our hashrate with out overwhelming a coin. You can keep track of how we split up our hashrate, as well as how many blocks we find per coin.

The new Frontend will be rolled out piece by piece, over the course of several days. This will let us also begin implementing our Black Shield solution, which requires the new Frontend and Backend to work.

Pool Back Online After Strategic DDoS Attack

Over the past 48 hours the pool has been the victim of a targeted and startegic DDoS attack, including the developers on their personal IP addresses. The DDoS attacks have since been fully mitigated and StGNU has worked round the clock (literally) for the past 48 hours to resolve the issue.

Payouts have been sent to all of the miners who mined during the past 48 hours during the instabilities, the new anti-DDoS protection mechanisms are now in place and StGNU is keeping a sharp eye on it (we're currently getting DDoSd without any impact at the moment!). Things are looking much clearer and development will again be focused on adding support for X11 and Scrypt-N in addition to development of next interation of the pool.

All eyes will be on BlackCoin in May as the altcoin makes a decidedly raunchy entrance to Wall Street.

It was announced today on Bitcointalk that on 29 or 30 May, “50 attractive women” all wearing black will converge on New York’s main financial district in support of the new BlackCoin Card, heralded by its creator as “a new approach to storing and transporting your blackcoins safely”.

The girls will be armed with cards and sell sheets describing BlackCoin. Organizers plan to produce one thousand cards initially, all of which will be funded from donations accepted until 17 May. The projected cost of manufacture and additional expenses is just under US$10,000, but should donations exceed this figure, more cards will be made, and BlackCoin will not take a profit.

What is more, US$12,000 will reportedly allow for a professional camera team to record the event, which will then be uploaded to free-to-view Internet platforms.

“I think this event will give us the most ROI, and this will be the tipping point for BlackCoin,” the Bitcointalk announcement reads. “This community has wanted something huge and I strongly believe this is what we need.”

CoinTelegraph spoke to the director of the company in charge of manufacturing the cards.

“The event will associate the BlackCoin Card with wealth, and show that it is cool to use it for real things,” he said, adding that the card will add “sophistication” to cryptocurrency and demonstrate it is not just “for geeks.”

But the aspirations do not stop here, as organizers hope to make quite a statement to bankers and stock brokers.

The event will be covered by local and international media outlets,” they promise. “We will be making crypto history and we will show the rest of the crypto community how determined we are to make BlackCoin #1.”

The card’s manufacturer added that BlackCoin should prove more succinctly than ever that technical knowledge is not necessary to use cryptocurrency, and hinted that more exciting developments are in the pipeline.

Black Coin is one of the most popular Cryptocurrencies in recent times. It is a Proof of Stake (PoS) coin, which means you earn Black Coins simply by keeping your wallet open. The rate is about 1% per year, much like interest in a bank. There are 75 million Black Coins in total, with a block time of 1 minute (the time to get 1 confirmation on a Black Coin transaction). Unlike many other coins, Black Coin had no premine and no initial public offering (IPO), an indication that the developers weren’t just trying to make a quick buck.

Black Coin started as a proof of work (PoW) coin, where miners could generated new coins with hashing power, but that was only for a limited time. Once 75 million Black Coins were generated it became PoS. This limited the supply of Black Coins, and forced price to rise. The price of Black Coin started near 500 satoshis (1 satoshi = 0.00000001 Bitcoin), and steadily rose after PoS ended to over 10,000 satoshis.

The Black Coin multipool then began operating. The multipool would mine the most profitable Cryptocurrencies and then sell them for Black Coin, forcing the price upwards since it increased Black Coin demand. This combined with investor speculation resulted in an epic rally. The price of Black Coin rose from 10,000 satoshis to nearly 100,000 satoshis in only a few days, resulting in massive profits for early adopters of Black Coin. This was followed by a rapid decrease in price as investors took profits, and other investors panicked. The price fell as low as 13,000 satoshis within a couple of days of hitting 100,000.

This is a classic ‘pump and dump’ scenario  (price chart above), which is often seen on Cryptocurrency markets. Speculators pump the price up, causing more people to buy in a feedback cycle, but when it starts going down from people taking profits it rapidly accelerates due to panic, the so called ‘dump’.

The price of Black Coin experienced another rally after this to 50,000 satoshis, and has since leveled off to 25,000 to 35,000 satoshis, which is the trading range currently. It appears the price of Black Coin has found some stability, and investing at these levels seems like a relatively safe Cryptocurrency investment. There will likely be more Black Coin pump and dumps in the future, though of a much smaller magnitude than the massive pump and dump described above.

Black Coin is perhaps the greatest success story out of the PoS coins. Many coins have since copied Black Coin’s model, such as White Coin and Yellow Coin, where the coin becomes PoS after a brief PoW period, and then a multipool is put into place to raise the price. No PoS coin has come anywhere near Black Coin’s success however.

要回答这个问题就需要看看历史。历史上的狗币和nxt就是最好的回答。
一个币在狂涨了几十倍以后，接下来的必然是阴跌。
狗币从最高的0.013CNY跌到现在的0.0027CNY。跌幅80%。阴跌长达3个月。到现在还没有要结束的迹象。
NXT从最高的9毛多跌到现在的2毛左右。跌幅也有80%左右。阴跌同样长达3个月。到现在由于NXT的AE的推出，才回到上升通道。
现在黑币从市值最高的2000万美元，跌到现在的600万美元，跌幅才70%。黑币才跌了多久？
绝对还有跌的空间。
