waiting how Proof of Common Sense will be used by jurors in their day to day life in crypto and how stringent this system in terms of acceptance of possible jurors. can fraudulent profiles be inserted within their system without their knowledge?

Initially, we will have an assigned team to do basic KYC on all juror applicants to assign categories (age group, languages spoken, etc.) and initial credit levels. This should prevent most, if not all, fraudulent submissions from making it to the juror pool. 

Once our juror community is large enough, the community will handle all new juror applications. 

Even if bots make it past the application process, our juror credit level system (calculated based on several factors: voting history, response time, appeals history, amount of OATH held, and token holding period) will weed out any bots/bad actors.

For me, it's too early to conclude this because it is still new and there are a lot of works that needs to be done first most especially in promotions. Although, the ideas are very convincing for all crypto enthusiast since it can help them to protect their assets here in crypto world.

I'm trying to understand the concept and hopefully I am right, is this all about protection of Dapps? Because from what I have read and understand, it's seems to be it's what the platform wanted to be.

The idea is that on traditional platforms, one of the important functions a middleman serves is dispute resolution. If anything goes wrong, and you have a user dispute, the middleman (customer service, usually) takes care of it for you.

In a peer-to-peer ecosystem, the whole idea is to take out the middleman, to avoid needless costs. But then you also end up without a way to effectively resolve disputes. This is where Oath Protocol fits in. We're building a platform that uses real people to fulfill the dispute resolution function for peer-to-peer transactions.

You can also use the same mechanism for many other functions where you want community input, like governance, news verification, oracle services, content moderation, etc.

It basically just seems to rely on the whole concept of DApps and that's about the entire link to DApps and there's nothing else really to help the existing concept

When there was partnership deed act in the economy why this cannot be possible ??? It is all how better the next owner takes the ownership, plans accurately and operate the entire project the only key factor the experienced master can deal with success and achieve the targets.

That might be an intermittent issue which thrown you a 500 response, do clear the cache of your browser from the beginning close the browser, open a new browser and try again. Even further you experience the same issue do shoot your issue developer will take a look.

I think if the developers do not plan to launch a large-scale bounty campaign, then they do not need a manager who will manage this event. I think these guys know what they are doing.

Considering what funds invested in the project, they definitely do not need advertising. All major investors and funds in know them exactly and they don’t need small investors. Small ones will be able to buy their tokens on the stock exchange.. I can of course be mistaken but advertising is not needed for such projects.

We have some what the same understanding about tge project platform,  it was not stated clearly wat is the real idea since project is new there is still chance of improving and making the project more lively and profitable. Hopefully by next few days we can see the project progress.

You have a point, knowledge can't  get easily without exact information. Just like here in the project, the information they shared is not completely written. It is up to us how we handle or how to get the information we want to know. It is better to have a communication between both side. For sure right information will be get. It is a matter of how each of us handle or manage every situation.

I think normal people, if you check their youtube video, they are talking about jurors credit level something. But for the benefit of the doubt, its better that the team will answer here instead of me stating my opinion  ;D

When learning about OATH, I really like the idea of the project. This is a problem that the Crypto market is in need of. But I do not know about "jurors". Who is a juror? The ability, qualifications and ethics of the jurors play an important role in resolving and resolving the Blockchain dispute.

That is a good idea, which I supposed needs to be also considered as part of their journey to segregate the information. OATH protocol concept is a revolutionary kind of stuff that I think need to develop even more because this is all about dispute.

I did watch that video when I posted my comment, but it didn't give any details, all it said " The jurors are selected from a diverse pool ".
Anyway, I review the whitepaper and this is what I found : OATH jurors only need to rely on their common sense to decide cases based on contract terms, evidence, and testimony. They do not need to be experts in any field or area.

They are compatible with any public chains and dApps, via APIs (from the whitepaper and token design post), and the mechanism can be used for any decisions that require community input, like dispute resolution (who is right and who is wrong), governance (which decision the chain should make), oracle services and verification of off-chain data, basically any scenario where you need human input. With the rigidity of smart contracts, there is no way to code every possible scenario, and you still need humans to verify certain input - this is what Oath Protocol does.

▶️ BLOCKCHAIN E-COMMERCE DISPUTES
Party A: Seller of a pre-owned luxury handbag in “like new” condition
Party B: Buyer
Party B purchased a pre-owned luxury handbag from Party A on an e-commerce blockchain platform. After receiving the handbag, Party B argues that the bag is not in “like new” condition and requests to return it. Party A argues that the photos provided on the platform clearly show the condition of the bag, which matches the provided description. Party A refused to refund.
The platform incorporates the Oath Protocol, and the dispute resolution agreement contains the following conditions:
The dispute is decided by 21 jurors, no category requirement, with prevailing ratio set at 60%;
If Party A prevails, the payment is automatically released to Party A;
If Party B prevails, the payment is automatically refunded to Party B once the item is returned to Party A.
Once Party B initiates the dispute, an SAC is created automatically. Party A uploads relevant photos, communication history with Party B, as well as a statement detailing the condition of the item. Party B also uploads relevant evidence to the evidence pool.
Once the jury reviews the evidence, over 60% of the jurors side with Party A, eliminating the need for a refund. Once both parties confirm the dispute resolution result, OATH returns the result to the smart contract, which then automatically transfers the money to Party A. Jurors are allocated their award, and the case is closed.

▶️ NEWS VERIFICATION
Party A: A group interested in accurate news reporting

Early news reporting is oftentimes vague and conflicting, due to the lack of verified information
and the abundance of unverified rumors from multiple channels. OATH allows Party A to
crowd-verify the facts.

To generate interest, Party A initiates an SAC and deposits OATH tokens to reward evidencecollection and verification. OATH users submit the facts and information they are aware of, and other users vote to confirm the veracity of the submitted information.

Party A: Blockchain health insurance company
Party B: Insured individual

Blockchain technology facilitates innovative insurance models, and OATH works really well withthose models, providing a fair and efficient decentralized claims-verification service.

Party A and Party B signed a smart insurance contract that uses OATH as a service provider for coverage determination. To obtain insurance payment, Party B, the insured, initiates an SAC for the insurance claim. Party B needs to upload all relevant evidence to support the claim, such as pictures, medical appointment confirmation, medical billing statement and diagnosis, and so on. The smart insurance contract contents are automatically added to the SAC evidence pool. Based on the contents of the contract and provided evidence, the jurors will vote to decide
whether the insured’s claim is covered and he or she is entitled to the payment.

Explainer video about Oath protocol is what every must watch to understand it well. It is said that the protocol will be decentralized but appointing jury in case of dispute doens't make it trusted protocol because the fate of dispute will solely be in hands of those selected people ? Use cases of the protocol arises the potential well but somewhat it is semi-decentralized in my opinion, I might be wrong in understanding.

You actually aren't required to buy the token to become a juror.  The partners using our dispute resolution & governance platform will be purchasing the tokens to pay the jurors (like you!) for their service.

The answer to this question is in the video that you mentioned, they will use a random algorithms to select a diverse and unbiased pool of jurors, also the jurors are selected from a diverse pool according to the criteria set by the parties and their identities are kept strictly confidential to preserve objectivity and prevent external influence.

It doesn't matter if you're an Investor, Community Member or Token Holder. Anyone can sign up to become a Juror. According to what I read in the whitepaper, They do not need to be experts in any field or area, OATH jurors only need to rely on their common sense to decide cases based on contract terms, evidence, and testimony. Because OATH Protocol uses a Proof of common sense which is a consensus mechanism that is used within the OATH jury community.

Right - that makes it easily accessible for anyone to become a Juror, whilst the Reputation Mechanism tracks the accuracy and credibility of a Juror and simultaneously filters bots and malicious judges. With "Expertise", we mean that Juror's don't need to have proven evidence like University Degrees or Working Experience in a specific field. The Expertise that we believe is of crucial significance is the sense of Judgement of the Jurors. Our Reputation Mechanism will track exactly this and also evaluates each Jurors' Expertise according to several metrics like voting history, response time, appeals history, amount of OATH held, and token holding period.

Quite interesting to know more about it and thanks for the shared information and definitely this is something worth to read. I am not so familiar with law which I think a big factor to be an eligible juror.

You don't need to know the law at all to become a juror. In the common law jury system, the juries are made up of regular people, just like you. This is why the jury is often referred to as a jury of peers, meaning it's regular people and not a group with any specific background or expertise. Most of us have good intentions, and most of us can tell right from wrong -- and this is exactly what the juries will do on our platform.

The question is who are these people who are ready to complete identification. Many who have been in the crypt for a very long time and have large funds prefer not to enter such projects for their own reasons.

We will not publish any Jurors' Identity but keep it private instead.

Our "KYC" merely serves
1) to filter out Bots or fake accounts and
2) gives an initial credit level to the Juror who is requested to simulate cases in the application form.

What do you guys think about EOS's ECAF? I think it demonstrates the need for dispute resolution, but honestly not the best solution. How is your approach different and do you think ECAF is among your immediate competitors?

ECAFs' and our Vision are quite different. ECAF is trying to mirror an entire Constitution with a strict legal system on the EOS Blockchain. We have made a lot of Research on ECAF recently and figured out, that it would be most suitable if a very, very high amount of tokens are being affected (recently there was a hack with 2M EOS Tokens which equals around 10M+ USD at this moment). The reason is that ECAF aims to recruit selected and known experts with actual legal background (currently there are six arbitrators) to judge on those cases. These arbitrators can charge an amount based on the hours & expenses they had to resolve the case. In addition, there is a minimum Submission Fee that needs to be paid, even if the case would be rejected. We believe EOS' ECAF might be comparable to Oath for "Governance on EOS" issues. ECAF is neither chain agnostic as Oath, nor does it share communities. It is merely focussed on the EOS Chain.

[Brief Project Update]
- Nov. 25 - Shanghai

 Greetings Oath Family!
The past couple of weeks were super exciting for us and we have again achieved major Milestones in our still young project:

- Michael, our Head of Business Development & CM was invited to Seoul and made extremely valuable new connections that help facilitate the market entry for Oath in Korea. He met various projects and media partners, as well as Event Managers. Korea is definitely a must-be location for any Blockchain Project and we have it closely on our radar.

- Prototype: Even more importantly; we developed the V1 of our Prototype and the demo's and simulations in our tests went smoothly and as expected. - Student Workshops: We created BlockchainGo, a student-focussed blockchain educational platform that we co host with our good friends from Aion Network. We held our first Event on Nov 22, which was a great success. We will publish a separate Medium Post on that shortly.

- Our COO Jenny was very active on larger Conferences taking place in the US: She moderated a Panel Discussion about Blockchain Governance with Kleros CEO Clément amongst the Panelists.

- Besides that, we have attended, co hosted or actively participated (panel, keynote) on several conferences across Asia and also in Europe at the German Blockchain Week in Frankfurt & Berlin.

I don't see it posted on the first page nor here in the update. I wanna try being a jury and see if I can be part of the team but seeing it requires a lot of documents to send. KYC always discourage users to join even for bounty hunters. Will jury be paid when we join?
