So just gave a call to someone i knew he was interested since few weeks ago in my girlfriends car, and just sold it for 2000€..nearly 13 ETH at this prices..
maybe for others it is not a lot of money..but for us, it is..no more money left, and living with my parents! hahaha
yes i STILLL BELIEVE IN CRYPTO.. the best is still out there to come in the next 2 years i think..  so with a pair of.. I am  ALL IN  ;D

Many of you say i am crazy or stupid and i should be shaking right now... but you are very wrong.. in fact, I am absolutely not nervous or worried. if you read my later posts, you will find i invested my ETH on 4 altcoins, and the value in ETH (not in US$) didnt changed  much for these coins.  Anyway, i assume risks and consequences. ANd the big difference among us, is i am not a mercenary like many of you, that just followed the hype.. i am talking about them who are here for few fast bucks, .. i am different because i am for the longterm as i BELIEVE in blockchain.. and i didnt took this decision as if i was blind or stupid! I did my propper research long time ago, and strongly think crypto will be a standard in the future.. maybe not tomorrow, or next week, or month.. also not next year.. i am not in a hurry!  i think i got everything i need to live...it took most of my life to realize material things wont make me happier.. i dont need much anymore because i found i was already happy  ;D .. I am not interested about lambos, mansions,... I am more interested in a more fair world for everyone. The big fishes (venture capital, banks...) have their profits being cutted, and this makes me really happy! Our life quality will improve in the longterm.. almost everything will be public, transparent and fair...

Sometimes a dip proceeds an upswing so it's not a bad idea to prepare your buy orders nice and low when this happens so you can buy cheaply and benefit later

I guess OP has a plan that whenever that 13 ETH is more than the worth of the car of his girlfriend then that will be the budget for their marriage. Sounds crazy but good Trust you might get a profit next year you're sure of that,so invest all the funds from selling the car.You also know for sure the consequence that crypto is very unstable including ETH,indeed its development is very rapid at the beginning of its birth.

What a bold move coming at a time when people are liquidation their portfolio and panic selling. But like it's always said, fortune favours the bold. You are not crazy! It is quite intelligent and brave enough in the present.
You are smart when choosing to sell cars and buy ETH in a big discount situation. And brave enough to do that when so many others fear that the price will fall even further.
And I believe you will not regret doing so. Keep ETH in your pocket for at least 6 months and check again.

That's a brave decision and hopefully you're gf is not killing you right now. We are also joking earlier about my friend selling her motorcycle and me selling my desktop to buy more alts now that's the prices are too cheap. You'll gain profit absolutely but when? That's interesting but since you posted this on 14 nov, you must have experienced loss right now. The price was around at $200 on 14 nov but now the price is at $110, almost 100% lower than your buy rate. That's why i've never go all in. I prefer to invest gradually to reduce the risk. You have made a desperate decision but now the price of bitcoin has gone deeper. But you should still be patient with your portfolio. Do not hurry to sell it, be patient. Because in 2020, the market will uptrend back and you will be rich.

I planned to sell my great-grandmother's scooter but realized I do not have one :( But really my friend - several years ago everybody were laughing on a man who sold his house for dogecoins. I think you're making a mistake. In your place I would have looked at the projects of other blockchains such as Mainframe or IoTex. I think these are very promising coins.

If you bought eth from 105-108 dollar, you are lucky and you could sell them from 120-125 dollar few days ago. Market can drop again in few days so I dont hold any altcoins and I recommend sell if price goes up enough.

Making a move to invest into crypto currency is good especially during this current market but the logical theory of very crypto investment is never invest more than you can avoid to loose. However, investing into a single coin is not advisable either and you should include BTC and other well utilize 2 or 3 coins.

Yes, crypto currency is a good investment and the gateway of scaling through the problem of financial/economic aspect but with the act played by the OP I think he's some kind of greedy. Besides, investing into a single coin is also not the best way to invest in crypto currency sphere which we both know that every investors must avoid those two things in other for her to be successful.

I don't think it is a good idea to buy all of them for eth. You should have invested in some security tokens that will give you a passive income monthly. You should invest in Dropil and earn 3-4% in 15 days. Instead of eth it will not grow just setting in your wallet.

This is true that all eggs must not be placed in one basket and it is better that during dip OP has bought he coins but investing in multiple coins is always recommended when the amount is big and will always help us only as sometimes if other coins rise we can still make money if we hold it .

Diversifying capital isnt always a good idea because based on what i see , all coins are down when btc and eth are down  .  putting your eggs in one basket isnt also a bad idea only if you invest on a verry trusted coin such as eth  or btc  so overall i didnt see any problems with the decision of op  , infact he did a verry good job because he is helping the price to go up

Its the risk, that every investors are will to take. Its not a mistake I think, he just believe in this technology and I know that’s the best decision because car is not that important and its cannot be consider as an asset as its value depreciate over time.

ETH is a good coin to invest for, but for sure you are holding huge money by selling the car of your girlfriend so for me, you must not invest that money in only one coin, try to diversify it and have more source of income.

well i will update you about my moves.. i am not on ETH, BTC, LTC... this is like leaving my money on the banK! hahaha i went for altcoins.. with a pair of.. i sent my ETH to a decentralized exchange where i diversified with a 25% in 4 different altcoins seriously harmed during this crisis (90% drop in ETH -still worse if we calculate this on US$-)..

In us$, my portfolio has dropped around 95% since ATH...  but i will tell you a secret.. at leats me and my girlfriend are not worried at all.. i dont think this is cryptomarket's end..  it is just a stop on the way to massive adoption. There are still a lot of things to come in the   future.. we must just wait and be patient. In last instance, we will be rewarded :)

Honestly... you are very wrong.. absolutely no nervous or worried. if you read my posts, you will find i invested my ETH on 4 altcoins, and the value in ETH (not in US$) didnt changed  much for these coins.  Anyway, i assume risks and consequences. If I think of using that car for longer time, I guess that's a dead invesment when a car will become older in time. I think what you do is crazy, but I get a lot of news that it doesn't only happen to you. There might even be someone who is crazier by selling a house to invest in Crypto. I think this happened because they got a profit and then got hooked and wanted to get even bigger profits. But everything is sometimes not in line with our expectations.

Well.. to all that blame me for selling the car..
I am 100% aware about what i was doing.. i have NO hurry, i can wait indefinitely, and i could also assume a total lost.
the question is.. do you believe in crypto? I DO!!!
I compare this with the scenario 20 years ago, when i had a 28kb modem.. then came 56kb modem.. then RDSI.. ..adsl WOW.. and finally optic fiber..  sumarizing.. a LONG and promising future ahead...  I wont never advice anyone to do the same i did, but i promise for my life to come back in 2025 and read this post again.. and lets see what happened then.
I SOLD my ETH  time ago to buy few promising ALTCOINS.. and i will let you know soon about which one i choosed..

It is certainly a gamble, but everything in crypto is a gamble. This sort of risk is not for everyone, but it does show a lot of faith in crypto. I think you will be proven right. So long as you have coins from strong projects, in the future we will come to see the current prices as an absolute bargain.

The time that OP made this topic the price of ETH is around $200-$400, and now its a loss for him. OP, i am just really curious, why your girlfriends car? Why not yours? We decided to sell her car, because mine is far better (dont want to promote any car brand...). And nowadays i am working remotely at home, so i really dont use any car at all, so she uses mine.
In fact, around july 2017, I invested   also all my savings plus some money owed to bank (4000$) and from family and friends. (I strongly advice against doing something as crazy as  I did, PLEASE dont invest anything you can't afford to loose)

That's a big risk though. By selling the car, you already know that you can loose that amount of money when you put it and invest it in crypto. Make sure to put more effort in the trading, the amount of your money would not matter if you dont work hard to make it bigger. As of now, prices are not that high to gain enough profit.

A year ago, in November the ETH price was near the $212 and the current price is lower than the bought price. Btw, the price of the car has to be lower but he can make a better decision rather going all in a single cryptocurrency. The calculated risks don't matter if the investor makes silly mistakes.

In this case it's may be OK to earn by driving if it is his earnings without expanses (gas, spare parts and depreciation) but also keep in mind the obsolescence of the car's model. The new generation of a car will bring down the price of an elder.

If look as something like that, cars although used to earn money by driving, will need more cost to maintenance it. Maybe if in real life, property still best to pick. Or maybe Ethereum and bitcoin as investment to pick.

This thread was founded in November 2018. Ethereum price has made a big sine wave since then. OP could sell Ethereum with profit in May and June last year, but it did not. From what I understood from the words at the end of the first post, he intend to return to this investment after ten years, i.e. in November 2028. We will see what the situation will look like then.

I'm interested in that, if he returns to this thread after 10 years, regardless of what price will have, he will sell its ETH or not? I'm sure he's smart enough to sell it near whatever high price we end up at even if it's before 2028. It seems to be a really big decision selling a car for the sake of buying ETH during a sale. I find it funny that even the OP have sold a car just to buy ETH, still it is not his car since it belong to his girlfriend. I still do wonder what could have happen right now after selling the car for the sake of obtaining cryptocurrency. It seems to be a desperate move done to purchase a crypto since it was a sale but the car was sold to be able to make that happen. I know that it is worthy to buy ETH due to its capacity and capability to grow and having an opportunity to purchase it at low price will be a moment to be grab. So Op will not anymore loss his money, I guess cash out a bit to buy a new car would help. That's taking out the total investment and only investing the profit, that's what I usually do to eliminate the risk but we know OP is a big risk taker based on the decision he made in the past.

To be honest, a car is an item that is not that important to young people because it requires maintenance costs as well as taxes. a good decision to sell it and buy ETH.

For long term it will continue to rise, but OP's decision is solely based on his satisfaction, if he is satisfied already then he can sell and enjoy the profit. There's no such thing as HODL (hold on for dear life) as we don't live forever, we have to enjoy the fruits of our success and hence we should sell at a definite time.

Also, in the next 3 years, there's no guarantee that ETH will rise.
