Thanks for this I was wondering why my image would not show. Great reminder to those who are not aware of the history of bitcoin to get used that this is not new and probably not the end but the beginning of a new cycle which by judging by the history of bitcoin itself, will bring a new all time high in the future.

That's how the market is, there is a bullish tend and a bearish trend. when there is a bullish trend, Often times we forget that it's not there forever and don't remember to brace the ugly bearish trend which happens afterward.

Today I read about what's happening the stock market and realized that it's not only happening in crypto. So we should just keep strong, this won't last forever

For me, as long as bitcoin is fighting and have resistance then no point of worrying too much. As long as I can see that there's still people buying, using and trading bitcoin and there's resistance to go much lower then I'm still on this ride.

Right... A terrible market for investors who don't understand how bitcoin is driven. Although the case of the fall in the price of bitcoin is not the same from year to year, this technology is quite well used in the financial sector. Anyone who is familiar with this technology, surely will not leave it. For some traders, this might be a nightmare.

Well for some newbie traders, its a nightmare because no one has seen this dramatic fall although I have seen others making a prediction as early as 2018 that we will see a dramatic fall but not of this magnitude.

We can't really do anything but we do have a choice. HODL. There's no way that you should sell at this point otherwise you will just take a loss. And everyone should look at their investment for the long haul because that's what's separate a smart investor to a a dumb investor. Those dumb investors panics sell their coins and then bitch around, while smart investors stays cools and became rich overtime.

I think I'm relatively new to the space and didn't know about these drops so seeing this made me feel better. I'm going to hodl of course but this puts my heart at ease a bit.

In my part I should not be worried because that is natural. Although bitcoin price is low for now we can still earn from it by monitoring the movement of its price we can determine on what price he fall so dip and on what price it will run high. Bitcoin price is actively moving in the market so we can still earn although the price is very dip now. If I have money for investment this is the right chance to buy for bitcoins.

Just watch and watch the bitcoin line up and down daily, every month like me you will see this is just a little price-driven, is a bit larger than the previous. And I still hold my position, do not care or worry about what's going on in the bitcointalk community 8).

I guess that image speaks a lot but you can't blame those people from being worried especially those who invested in Bitcoin at its peak price of $19,000 US dollars and they are now absolutely frustrated because most of the hodls and expects that this November will be the start of the bullish season of Crypto Currencies. I know that there a lot in here that lose a lot of money on investing on Bitcoin but it isn't Bitcoin's fault because in the first place Bitcoin isn't an investment and even in the Bitcoin white paper it does not indicate or tells anyone to invest in it. Bitcoin is a form of digital or electronic money that cuts down the trust issues on third parties and it is a peer to peer transaction that makes it easier for everyone to use it.
The real goal of Bitcoin is different from today because these days it becomes an investment medium and people decides what it will be, because of its decentralized nature.

Just like what I always say. It is better to invest only the money that a person affords to lose rather than risking everything in this very volatile and wild industry of Crypto Currencies.  8)

Yeah, yeah, "we've been here before"...got it. I suppose it's reassuring to see the stats. The fact that we're down almost 80% from the last high is NOT the deepest pull back we've seen (although it's close). The challenge is two fold: (1) with each new high, the same incremental percent downward we go involves a significantly greater nominal value (i.e., amount in euros, dollars, etc.) decline we have to endure, and (2) the adage "past performance is not indicative of future results" basically states that charts like these have little to know impact on what could happen going forward.

We're free falling and it's a tough time to be in.

I think the 94% drop in the price in 2011 could have been the death blow for a lot of people, but the hard-core believers in the technology back then, pushed back harder and they got huge rewards in 2017. <just 6 years later>  8)

The thing about Bitcoin is this, it is as resilient as a badger and it is as tough as nails. As OP has pointed out in this image, Bitcoin has been on the ropes, several times before, but like Rocky it always bounce back with a vengeance.  ;)

Bitcoin is one of the best currency of this generation, nothing to worry about as rise and fall is a part of how it works and in fact that's what keeps the balance ,in the future we will see even a more higher price

When was it gone? Bitcoin is here to stay at least for a decade. Good to see that day by day more people are realizing this. I know Bitcoin is going through hard phase but we never know when it might surprise us. The current price of Bitcoin is very low than its actual worth and we all know about that. Therefore, we should have patience and faith in Bitcoin and wait for to rise in value.

No matter how much we preach the hodl/patience game, i Still think it's almost impossible for any investor right now to refrain from panicking(on various degrees though)

I'm not much of an old trader,and I must be honest with you,i have had urges to sell off in the past few days,at least with the hope of cutting down on possible/potential losses..

This still doesn't conclude anything that the price of yesterday would presume the price of tomorrow. Even though there is a lot of possibilities, still we shouldn't be too proud.

This may be a bad time with Bitcoin, but Bitcoin is still active and so should not lose faith with it. Bitcoin will come back and develop strongly let it time to be able to pass this time I trust Bitcoin.

This chart is not about belief it is fact. Now if you are trying to ask the question will history repeat again that no one can answer. I'm 90% confident it will but like in mathematics as long as another option is there there is also a chance of going the other way, so of course it may not happen.

but when investors and businessmen make decision about investing they look at history and facts, and do not roll a dice to get an answer. So for me based on that graph which is factual I believe it will happen again, and probably after happen it will crash badly again and raise again and who know how many times that cycle may repeat until it will stabilise at some point.


Now anything can happen but if we look at the data here presented (which is factual) and make a calculation based on that data we come up with this:

1) On each cycle Bitocin grew an average of 153%
2) Each new high took 1.8 years average.

Based on that it could mean that in about 2 years from now bitcoin will have a new high of $50,324

This is what the data tell and when investors make a decision on whether an investment is worth or not apart from the news they take the numbers and history into account. Here are the factual numbers of bitcoin.

I am not really afraid or losing hope to bitcoin at all even though bitcoin keeps going down. But I am sad and I think most of us. The image shows us major crashes then the time it takes to rise again, and yes like it just takes time to recpver. All of us didn't know when it will rise but instead of just waiting, we can do something really good to earn bitcoin and then in the future when the bitcoin is already high, we are already rich.

The history chart showed that the price go up so quickly in this ten years, but now the market is different, the market now is full of manipulation, but there is so many potential in Bitcoin that potentially can make Bitcoin price go up, so don't too worry about the short term price, aim for the long term then you will get the profit that you want

It is paramount to know how Bitcoin works, as, getting to know this techniques will dose off tension whenever there is dip crash in Bitcoin price or cryptocurrency in general. One thing is sure that the crashed will recover soon and the smooth runs for the next bull will occur in known time.

I for one don't believe that this is the end for bitcoin knowing how many developments are going through even though the price is taking a huge beating. There is a lack of maturity among the investor which causes the panic situation in the market and this factor is capitalized by the institutional investors and big whales. However, the situation is definitely improving since the last few years and we will see stability in the coming decades depending on the growth of the user base over the period of time. However, if the investor has his own research to back his investment decision then he has nothing to worry about it.

And be patient. HODLers had already been rewarded for such approach.

Great convincing with figures and perfect information and I agree with the above for some extend it is true Bitcoin price dropped but it doesn't mean that it can never recover so definitely it will reach to it's correct price and the only thing it needs is more time so traders and investors should be more patient if they are willing to gain profits from there investments

it's true because bitcoin can at any time experience price changes, so all we need to do is look for a good opportunity to earn income from price increases that are being experienced so far

We should not be worried because it will definitely comeback. It will bounce back guys. It is just the same as in the year of 2016 that it is very low and suddenly when 2017 enters, the price jumps high. Just wait.

Comforting image to relax a little bit during this crisis time, but each period of time is unique. The factors that lead to those price variations aren't the same, so I think they aren't comparable. What we see now is something inedit, like those price fluctuations were inedit on their respective times.

That is true that each cycle had a different factor, but again none of them were the same factor and still bitcoin is here and still strong. Just to imagine that after so many manipulation, hard forks, exchange hacking, government bans, scared buyers who came late into the game and I guess the list can go on... 1 bitcoin still worth over $4,000 USD. That to me shows me where the real value is and how devalued the US dollar and other fiat currencies are and that if bitcoin was not to stay it should be dead long ago but let's wait and see but there is one thing we can do, keep trading, using and saving that is how we will make that comeback become faster.

Well if we are a true crypto believer and we ingage in crypto for a couple of year maybe we know about its price before. The price of bitcoin from the start is really small than what it is now today. So even if we are on a huge dip we can see that it has still a big value if we keeping to compair it on its past price. So we don't need to be or get worried everything may back to green someday.

I agree this has already happened, but not the fact that the story will repeat. It is possible that Bitcoin will not return to its peaks.

People want to have bitcoin at the high price and they just think it will go higher and higher
those people who panic now don't really understand cryptocurrency and they are just in hype with BTC.

the problem about this crash is that right now most of the people have heard about btc and cryptos ,this means that the  chnace of explosive growth is small in future.

We are different and so it is expected how we react to such situations will be different.  It is normal for one to be worried, especially when expectations are not coming as one think. Yet it should be reasonable to study trends. Bitcoin is an opportunity. It is great to hold on to it.

This is what I'm trying to prove every day to my friends who are in a disturbed state due to the situation in the crypto market. All this has been and will be more than once. Therefore, it is pointless to worry. Bitcoin falls and rises, it is the law of the market.

Yeh, I think that we need to wait some time. Every time while the market is falling we need to buy more bitcoins and after sell at higher prices. As for me, I don't panic, it's better to hold now.

The problem is that we do not know when the market will recover. In fact, it is not so important how much the cost of Bitcoin drops, as when growth begins - in a month, half a year or a few years.

As to your comment hearing about bitcoin and understanding about bitcoin are 2 different things. Most people may have "heard" about it but most people do not really "understand" about it, and even with just the knowing we achieved what has been achieved imagine when understanding kicks in. I think the next cycle will enter the understanding phase as many late players in the game now start to understand the opportunity lost and do "understand" that now, as well as many start to understand what bitcoin and crypto means.

Also not just to think about who have heard or understood about bitcoin, but I think next cycles will also be different as they will be the cycles of "implementation" from businesses which are engaging into crypto projects.

So the previous cycles until now were based on the "knowing" and "speculating" of bitcoin. Now we will be probably start the cycles of the "understanding" and "implementing" the bitcoin, and I'm sure these new cycles and stages will not deliver poor results.

I think there are a lot of people that is being confident but still, you can't remove people that are being nervous these days.

Being an investor of cryptocurrencies means you will be dealing with a lot of movements or price changes since we all know that they are volatile. And not all of these investors are that confident the price will continue to rise these year so I think some sold their Bitcoins already and some waited some time and focus on other investments since not all of the cryptos dumped, some are just starting to increase.

wow this is good news for all of us for this bitcoin user. also to add revenue for the end of the year to be able to enjoy more vacations and also with a rather large fee for my additions.

I still feel a little worried because until now the market conditions continue to deteriorate, and for the end of the year no one knows yet because cryptocurrency has properties that are rapidly changing and difficult to predict.

Probably forget about the end of the year to be quite honest and yes expect drops into the $3K. According to the photo here represented if we average the data shown in about 2 years bitcoin should be hitting around $50K (ave growth 153%). Don't wait for the end of this year that to me is quite far fetched.

For me it's simple. I bought BTC because I believe it has huge potential as a store of value. Nothing changed to Bitcoin during any crash, BTC keeps working as solid as always. I am not sure BTC is overvalued or undervalued now, I just know that it takes time to grow. I try to not look at the price too often, but that's hard with multiple friends panicking everytime BTC drops. I can't blame them though, they are 80% in the red. But I believe that even for the people who bought at 16k+, there is no need to worry as long as u hold hold hold.

Actually, the history of bitcoin really helps me a lot to be a strong holder. Thinking about the big crashes of bitcoin before and going up again might be possible in the current situations. Everytime i feel panicked and down everytime i see the red marking all over the market, i always looked back and think again the experienced bitcoin had been through, so a little light of hope lit in my mind and just continue keeping my coins and still waiting for the possible rise of it in the future.

This pic says it all, market is about rotation, it goes up it goes down and same is the case with bitcoin, do not consider it the death of bitcoin, this is the right message to all panic sellers, hold and wait for recovery of the crypto market, just hold, it may take some time but recovery will be there.

There are so many people who are not used to such dramatic falls and making people informed about the history of bitcoin is a good idea.  For people who have been following bitcoin prices for a long time is not new but this table summarizes cycles of price of bitcoin and it brings a new perspecitive to Newbies. Thus, we should just keep strong. Also these cyles are not only happening in crypto market.

So, regardless of the current price, bitcoin always closes with a new ATH, I don't know why people despair so much if we clearly see that every year, there is always a bear market accompanied by a bull run, true that none has been as long as this, but that only indicates what is yet to come.

However, I have said it acouple of times that the cryptocurrency market will faced alot of huge dump in price but people seems to forget that there are something in the crypto market which are inevitable and I am sure some people will still be worried and scared dispute the encouraging post made by the OP.

Yep, but take in consideration that during this time. a lot of institutions have invested on bitcoin on a hard way.

Anyway, i do not care that much, i want to see it going down below $4000 so i can get even more. It can easily touch $3000 - $3500 at the beggining of the next year.

But who knows?

Definitely, one ought not to worry because in pricing there is always a fall and rise. The possibility that bitcoin will rise again is sure.

If you're out of the game you have nothing to worry about, just enjoy the show. If you have cheap Bitcoins bought for 100 dollars or less you also have nothing to worry about.
The only people who worry are those who bought for 5000 or more and are still holding. They are the ones writing all those panic posts.

I think the people that worry are the panic sellers because they see the fall of bitcoin, maybe think that it can not rise again.

Bitcoin always recovers as shown in the image. I don't know why many of us find it so hard to understand?! I guess impatience really hits most of us because most of us wants something good to happen right now! But that is not the case. It takes time. It always does. 2019 will be a better year for the market. How do I know? I don't! I'm just optimistic about it.

I'm not worried about Bitcoin, because I still believe Bitcoin will return to its previous position. When Bitcoin will return, it will bring a lot of good news for its investors. I agree nothing to worry because even a price drop occurred during this year it doesn't mean that it is crashing because price fluctuations are common for any trading asset and it can happen with or without a fault with the asset in Bitcoin this was actually happened because the pressure it got from the outside world and Investors were uncertain but even those situations Bitcoin surviving skills are impressive so without a doubt it's price will increase than its current price so there is nothing to worry

Miners are everywhere so i'm not that concerned about bans. What made think is when the price of btc dropped too low that it'll be hard for these miners to cope with mining costs. And whales wouldn't want that to happen so i guess that though calms me in a way at this time.

That is very true. bitcoin has a period of movement so that in that period the value of bitcoin can change without us being able to predict. and each period of the bitcoin movement will have an upper and lower limit value. so if the bitcoin has touched the lower limit then the value will increase and vice versa.

You need to explain your "something" in words so that we understand the logic. However all crashes had a reason like this one. Don't take it for granted, these are cycles, and bitcoin will go high again, but it will again crash after that. Until it stabilises it will have these cycles going on. The 20K will not be the top price of bitcoin ever, it will go higher in the future, but this will not be either the last time it crashes after it takes off again, it will most likely crash again.

The question is how many of these hyper cycles we will have, and the question for that will be adoption and usage but as we  still far from mass adoption be ready for these cycles and take the most of them. Sell some when it is high and accumulate when it low that is the game you need to play.

Once you're that deep in the red, it makes no sense to sell whatsoever. If you sell now, you'll never recoup your money. So holding is the right choice. You either get out early for a small loss or you stick around until you get your money back.

Althought blockchain techonology and Bitcoin are separate things (even though bitcoin needs blockchain but blockchain does not need bitcoin)  we need to be reasonable and understand the following:

1) Bitcoin is on the market for 10 years and during this time apart from speculation and bubbles driven by enthusiasts, still there is a lot of serious investment by companies, business and enterprises with bitcoin behind it. So it is very far fetched that bitcoin will ever die.

2) Bitcoin is the most popular and successful crypto currency. Yes banks and governments can create their own and try to make it a success out of it by providing "guarantees" to make people feel comfortable about it, but that will be just another "lie" to replace fiat money with an idea of "freedom" and better control. However only Bitcoin and altcoins alike can really deliver decentralisation and so there is no competition in that space that governments and banks can bring even with their fancy futures ideas.

3) Yes bitcoin is on a bear market and yes it will go more down probably in between $800 to $2,000 before it starts to recover, but that is just what this market is and it will have more cycles like these until it stabilises, but none of this means "game over" nor "forever to the moon" status.

4) Bitcoin will become more popular with time and easier to make payments with so its dead is again far fetched. Projects like Baakat, acceptance of bitcoin which already exists like Microsoft and other big players is just the beginning of a long road of acceptance.

5) EFT acceptance or not will not determine whether bitcoin will survive or not, and that such EFT will probably only occur when these cycles will cease anyway so that will not determine nothing significant about bitcoin future from today's position and perspective.

6) Even if bitcoin would be valued at $1 or less, it still a very strong "currency". Not many currencies in the world today can match the value of $1 or close.

7) Lastly if bitcoin will become worth less than a $1 still a great easy, private and cheap way to send funds across comparing to international bank fees, documentation request, limitations and other services like western union etc... so even at that point bitcoin will be useful as a token of exchange for a lot of people in the globe.

I also tend to think that all this panic over the fact that the price of bitcoin is falling is just meaningless. Thats right theres always a chance that this bear market would end.This downfall was not permanent .lt might change anytime soon so lets stop worrying and be more positive and think that the next bull run would happen and holders who have patience will definitely rejoice.

Of course it is. If all altcoins fail it doesn't mean anything for Bitcoin. If Bitcoin crashes to 0 it will be the death of altcoins. At least in the short run. Maybe after a while people will have confidence to touch cryptocurrencies again, but all altcoin holders have to not only worry about their altcoin being successful but also about Bitcoin.

I didn't mean all year 2019 with bitcoin below $1000. My analyses is that it will hit the bottom anywhere between $800 and $2,000 and then will start the recovery. So we could see maybe in 2019 3k , then 5k and so on... who knows by end of 2019 hitting already $10K or a bit more.... but I believe the really boost will occur in 2020. Of course it could happen during 2019 but I still think price it will hit half lower than what it is now, I don't think we have hit the bottom yet but of course I could be totally wrong :)

Yes bitcoin always recover and reach new highest price. I think in bear market right now, we should not worry about bitcoin price because it will reach highest again. Better keep our coin for long term because its long term investment and i am believe its more profitable if we keep it for long term

We don't need to aim to have Bitcoin has the highest price, I will just do what I needed to do.

There are a lot of times in the past that Bitcoin will not let me gain a good amount of profit in time, but that is just stupid of me. We don't need to rely on how Bitcoin price or the market is experiencing right now, we should be relying on ourselves as an experienced traders and investors. Prices changes but we  can improve ourselves and create strategies to overcome this kind of decline.

I hope that you are right. I am trying not to read pessimistic prognoses and  I do not listen to the skeptics who say that the market will be red for more than two years. I am waiting for the bulls.

Of course we will worrying if our money value keep decreasing because our bitcoin price keep falling.

Yes, absolutely this is very important to uplifting the spirit and strengthen the patience of many.The current situation is quite alarming rate is decreasing continuously. The top btc holders are now thinking of releasing the tokens before its too late. The feelings and opinions are normal, but me I stay to believe and continue to trust the btc and hoping for the brighter and better rates in next few days or weeks. I made good profits with ico investments and dumped all my bags to cash out 50% on my bankaccount and invested in BTC with the other 50%.

If BTC goes dies i'm not worried, but if it goes to $100000 maybe over couple years i will dump 50% of my BTC to cash out on my bankaccount and hold the rest forever.

As you said that Crypto and bitcoin holders shouldn't be worry about the market todays. They should much read about the history of bitcoin since early created. Why should we worry, while the price of bitcoin is still in the range of USD 3,500.

People who are worrying are those who bought at 10k level and above much worst if you bought during it's all time high and we can't blame them since they invest money and currently losing but the best thing to do know is to hold and buy some when it go deeper to lower your your buying average like what I need when I have some spare money from my work.

yes you are right i am also not worried about the current market conditions this is a common thing in the crypto market. bitcoin won't fall easily. bitcoin has survived for 10 years. for 10 years, bitcoin has experienced many up and down events and the rise in bitcoin occurred in 2017 yesterday. this year, bitcoin has decreased to $ 15,000, now it's only $ 3500. but I didn't panic and was afraid I believed this was a way to keep the crypto market so there was a time to go down and one day it would rise again. although this increase will require time.

Even with the long bearish market condition, I dont fell any worried because I know that cryptomarket will have a great recovery maybe not this year but might be next year or in succeeding years. So lets maintain our trust and belief to digital currency as this is possible fiat in the future.
