a few days ago hot news / updates about ethereum made me and maybe a lot excited, and ETH prices rose markedly after the next day, it kinda showed a little backward or as I thought. Now ETH prices continue to fall! What caused this? Am I missing something?

I have also heard about the ethereum update news. But why do ethereum prices continue to decline? I don't think it only happens in ethereum. All altcoins also seem to be decreasing too. There may be several factors or other things that make the price of ethereum and other altcoins decrease.

At current time, crypto has a general bearish trend. News makes smaller variations but again they all fall into the bullish avalanche.

it is a trend that happens in a bear market or in this case an altcoin that is on its dumping phase. during that time when it has dropped significantly, there is a small recovery when price goes back up again as people FOMO buy it thinking they bought at the bottom. for example drop from $600 to $500 then recover back to $550.
then it is followed by an even bigger dump since now there would be more people selling so the drop goes in that example from $550 to $350.

this trend will continue until the asset reaches its real value at the bottom.

you should be calm if my advice because the market is indeed up and down. we must be more careful in observing the market, not only interest but we must be patient when the market rises, maybe it is fortune for us to let go if the market is declining it would be better if we were patient and maybe patience for a long time but nothing wrong besides that we explore more experience and continue to collect points of success.

It is just because of the bad market. Some are not investing only in BTC but rather they are also in different crypto like the ETH. So, if they are leaving now in the cryptocurrency probably will going to sell ETH and dump it for good. Besides ETH has only a small market price value and has a lower market cap volume so it could fall down for more compared to bitcoin.

I like your points about updates and operation because etherum blockchain is still very functional and there are ongoing developments underground without everyone looking up information as to that regard.

Regarding updates, no body seeks information, they only find excuses as to why their tokens dump and reduce in price, which is why we have a lot dumped tokens and alot of dumpers as well..

 What had happen to Ethereum on the recent market crazy drops was the massive sell off on the crypto market. All coins experienced the beating on the market. high volatility contribute to the further drops on its price value as posted in the crypto market...Crypto Market Crash was all over the news which create  Panic reaction on the investors side, does full the value of ethereum down.. but the good news is.. it remains standing...lets just wait further for total rebound of the crypto market to a more stable status.

You are talking about the pump caused due to upgrade news, just imagine what will happen when actual upgrade will happen, i think mid january upgrade will be the major turning point for eth and i strongly believe that from there on eth has the potential to grow on and reach new all time high levels, hopefully we can see 2000 levels but then again this is my own optimistic target for eth if the hype and momentum results in positivity and boost for eth due to exceptional upgrade.

Ethereum is moving in the right direction. Currently, they are in the process of doing a hard fork Constantinople which will improve its security, speed of execution and reliability. It may also increase ETH price as block reward is now reduced to 2 ETH rather than 3 ETH per block.

You guys should stop attacking ETH. It isn't the only coin which has lost in this bear market. It is about time we stopped putting blames on crypto coins and accept that we are in the bear market so this is bound to happen.

I thought ethereum would have fallen below $80, but seeing it still maintaining that and rising above it sometimes, shows it is still relevant and that it has the capacity to rise back to its position.
One cannot totally conclude that ethereum is the one that is so bad, to dump that low, because so many coins are also low due to the bearish market.
Then the platform of eth is still very useful, so it cannot be discarded now.

I have also heard of the ethereum update news going round but i believe that ethereum is going no where. Ethereum is a good project that will recover once the market recovers.

You are not missing anything, what we are seeing has nothing to do with any negative news coming about ethereum or anything like that, what we are seeing is nothing more but the market trying to find a point of stability between the bulls and the bears and the bears seem to still be strong enough to keep pushing the price down, that is what we are seeing and we could keep seeing that for some additional days or weeks so it is unlikely the price of ethereum has reached its bottom.

I think Vitalik does not give the ETH the necessary importance. he could have made an attack as the BTC fell down and tried to get ahead of BTC

This altcoin has got many chances to get up again. The market is getting ready for the bull run, and Ethereum is supposed to become one of the best gainers when this times comes. I think ETH has a great future.

ETH will rise again. This year it lost a lot in market share as it took too long for waiting for the development upgrades. ICOs were struggling and that also had negative effect on ETH price. Furthermore the bearish market also effected it`s downtrend and price crash.

Now the price of Ethereum has been increased to $115 just in 3 days. And I think the market has a sign of recovery at the end of this year. in my opinion the price decrease Ethereum occurs due to a trend that so far because the price of bitcoin dropped then all altcoin prices go down and that is the thing that has happened so if the future Bitcoin price can rise again I think all altcoins will follow it again.

Well, the story is (as much as I have heard/read) that ETH will try to go to PoS at the end of January 2019. I see this move as a potential growth factor for Ethereum's price. I think Vitalik said that for staking one needs 32 Ethereum.

So yeah, if this is indeed true, we could see some nice buying action done when dates are locked in.

There is no specific answer that I can answer behind the decrease in the price of Ethereum as you mentioned. However, the current atmosphere of the price of each coin especially Ethereum reminds us of the price of Ethereum at that time. Then this can be the beginning for Ethereum.

I don't think that some very advanced and popular platform with huge amount of users and business partners will suddenly appear. Actually there are some of competitors like EOS, TRON, ADA, Zilliqa, NEM, NEO... But all of them have their own weak points. That's why ETH is a leader in the area of smart contract platforms. I suppose it will stay so in future.

This is one of the problems of Ethereum, as if people do not want to see the big picture and believe that Ethereum just collapsed in price, although it should be obvious to everyone that no one can resist in such a weak market

The declining prices are happening on almost all coins. It's normal. But I still believe that ETH will be soon be bouncing back. It's a coin with unique capabilities, and I agree that it is a risk worth taking for.

I think this is a factor because ethereum will do Hardfork on the 28th later. the price of ethereum when it's very unstable, maybe that's one of the reasons. I hope after hardfork, ethereum will increase again.

most likely they deliberately did not offer anything that could boost the price back to a high rate, but they had other strategies to be able to raise the quality of the coin.

People are worrying about nothing, it is true the last year was especially difficult for ethereum and it seems that has been the case so far during this year but the most important news is that we are going to get some nice upgrades on the network at the end of the month and that should make everyone bullish about the short term prospects of ethereum, in fact it could be said that anyone that invests in ethereum now could easily make a lot of money during the next months if they just hold their coins.

Guys, I would like to recall the time when in 2017, the capitalization of Bitcoin and Ethereum almost equaled.  Of course, we can say that the popularity of Ethereum has skyrocketed thanks to ico companies, but no one will dispute the fact that it is because of fraudulent ico companies that Ethereum has very lowered its rating.  In addition, all the ETH funds that investors invested in new companies were converted into other currencies or into Fiat.  I believe that more than one cryptocurrency has not suffered such a disaster as Ethereum after 2017.  But since Ethereum has tremendous potential, this coin is still afloat and shows fairly good results.  At the same time, it is necessary to mention the fact that Ethereum is practically no longer an altcoin, but comparable to Bitcoin, while having a better transaction speed.

Those are both dumb investments in my opinion, especially when compared to a winner like Eth.  I cannot wait until Eth goes proof of stake, because that should draw in many more investors than are currently present in the market.  Right now I'm accumulating Eth in anticipation of this.

Ethereum is a very uncertain coin. I remember when people were sure that ETH will overcome BTC after the bull run in 2017. Right now, ETH is doing literally nothing to increase its price and the only hope is ETH 2.0 update.

Nothing happened and nothing will happen till the next big update. Vitalik and his team are not the best when it comes to regular updates and community, so the only thing we can do right now is to wait for ETH 2.0 and to hope that it will solve all the problems.

Exactly, ethereum lost their importance and popularity now people choose other coins or tokens over ethereum. Ethereum will go to 200$-225$ maximum by the end of the year. So buy bitcoins instead of wasting your money and time on ethereum. Ethereum growth is very gradual so chances of profits are less.

I think not only Ethereum is fluctuation, because number of altcoins are fluctuate in this situation so once Bitcoin will raise going to automatically Etheruem and other altcoins are going to moon. The current market is $ 180 it is right time to invest on Ethereum so we make more profit on further hype.

Ethereum at present is experiencing slow phase of growth. This will soon get initiated for a bigger growth. For ethereum $250 stands as a big barrier. Once this is been crossed we can expect regular growth with ethereum. However the ethereum market is much dependent on the market of bitcoin. As the bitcoin seems stabilizing we can expect growth with ethereum mutually when bitcoin takes a step forward.

Actually, Ethereum is in a very bad period and it is difficult to predict because this coin is not popular and long term investors are feeling depressed when holding this coin. During the past one year, ETH has not had many big changes in value and was heavily affected by this market so it may soon return to $150 by the end of this year.
