In my prediction i think every price altcoin is still down because fail and scam project.A good project lock their token to save a fall price. But its not give effect to make their price is up because too little buyer in market.
Will the altcoin raise again in middle 2019 ?

for the beginning of the month of 2019 the altcoin price does not yet have a sign of rising, but I strongly believe that the increase will occur in mid-2019.

There are a lot of announcements that are going to be released in 2019, the only question is would they be big enough to change the market. I think they will, because news about the theoretical ETFs approvement has caused a great price increase.

Even we will be having bitcoin prices trading above $4000 levels, I guess this year will be marked as a positive year for bitcoins like to indicate that bulls are not sleeping. I guess bitcoin can easily reach up to $10k levels this years. Overall this is too early to call there is no bull for this years. There are plenty of months left to surprise us. Need to wait some more months before making such a statements.

Some devs had opted for partial payments and many devs had delayed their launch. There are many negative things are happening around crypto markets and I sure that this year will be complete different from what we had in 2018. So, getting ready for bull market is sensible in my opinion.

In part, you are right, the market is in its current state for many reasons, but one of the main ones is the huge amount of scam projects that have simply stolen a lot of money.

It is one reason but the market goes through a very normal correction and bear market. And having lesser demand for last year and up to this date, people don't want to invest because they are scared that the market is crowded with failed and scam projects.

Most project did, from what I saw many of them stopped the distribution and is/are waiting for the right moment to list their tokens on exchanges to become tradable in the market.

Scam projects doesn’t dictate the market, and it cannot prevent the bull to come. The price may continue to fall but honestly, we can’t say it confidently so invest wisely. If you don’t want to suffer because of the bounties that you get, try not to participate and invest with giant coins.

To predict the price going up on the altcoin is difficult, especially many people who have started to lack confidence in altcoins, so now there are many sellers with low prices than buyers at high prices, if between buyers and sellers it is not appropriate it will be difficult to rise in price .

All altcoins are dependent on the price of bitcoin, so if bitcoin falls, so will altcoins. If bitcoin rises, so will altcoins. Coins rarely break away from the pack. The 1 coin out of the top 100 that managed to _increase_ in price against BTC during the last 14 months or so was Binance Coin (BNB) -- all others fell.

There's no impossible on cryptocurrency and all of us know that it can have a huge bump anytime but also can go more deeper anytime, no one can tell us what will happen tomorrow and on the next coming days, so all we can do is stay and watch the market on what will happen.

Hey! Scam alts doesnt even affect how the market moves, its up to the investors and traders how they get involved in cryptospace. What we are experiencing today is just a reflection to the unprecedented and hype of Bitcoin last December 2017. Bull run seems to be so vague this year, not unless if we come up with a good news.

I think the great majority of altcoins, will never rise to there all time high dollar price again, and even less of the project will rise to there all time high Bitcoin price again.
I'm sure we will get some good bull runs in 2019 but not like in 2017, when so many new people joined the crypto world and bought everything up.

It seems to me that we will not wait for the bull soon, most likely the market will turn around only at the end of the year!

Why is the topic author so pessimistic? Personally, when I look at altcoins, I see a lot of projects that have recently increased quite a bit in price, some large projects have increased in price by 50 percent or more over the past few weeks. I think these are very positive signs. Altcoins will continue to grow.

Not all good projects have locked their coins. I saw content protocol sometimes ago and i was amazed at the tremendous growth it had, which was more than 4x the ICO price. At a point, i was trying to think of the factors that could bring about it, despite the fact that the market is still down.

We are definitely still in a bear trend at the moment. İt is to early to talk about a bull run. After the reversal of the trend (if we have not bottomed yet) we are going to see an accumulation zone and small volatility maybe 4-5 months and the run will start.

What has a fail project and a scam project do with overall price of all altcoins, even a single scam project can't even make up 1% of the total marketcap same as a fail project not even 0.1%, i don't think locking down their own token to save price is a good idea, it'll be much better to have it dumped because when bullrun comes it will just makeup for it.

Just wait the Bitcoin price grow again. I think in middle of 2019 altcoins price can up, but not too far. I think the biggest Bull Run happen when all supply of Bitcoin already raised

Same thought here. It is mainly bitcoin that's been the deciding factor whether or not a bull run will come. If bitcoin rises, both legit and scammy projects tend to rise as well.

Wait for the next halving event. There are very good possibilities to have another bull run even it can cross the last ATH.

Use this bear market to acquire more Bitcoin while the bull is still sleeping.

According to many news in the market, the bull season is expected to start this year. Since nearly two weeks, many coin prices have been almost locked. These coin prices are just experiencing the rise or fall in very low rates. I think this is a preparation period before the bull season. And so, I hope the bull season will start soon and I keep waiting.

I believe the price of altcoins are based on the price of BTC and when BTC will rise then definite the whole  crypto market will rise and i believe in the middle of 2019 a big will definite come and market will go very high.

Do you want a bull run while it's still February? I think BTC needs time to get a new bullrun. People need time to re-trust Bitcoin or maybe some banker are still on the way to buy some Bitcoin. I think there's no way to say that this year will be no bull run. We need to wait at least until May or June to see of there is a bull run or not.

I think scam or failed projects does not have nothing to do with the current market condition. And also no one can predict exactly when will be the altcoins rise again. Just be ready and always be prepared on what will be going to happen on the near future.

I have a positive vibes that we may experience a bull run this year. It could be by the 3rd quarter of the year but no one can tell right? Everything happens surprisingly and even we are seeing multiple positive news lately, the bears could attack the market anytime so we better be extra careful. Besides, investing to any business even in cryptocurrency takes time before your money can grow. Just be patient.

Bitcoin has a four year cycle where 75% of the time it is dumping and 25% of the time it is pumping. We had the bull in 2017 so if we go by the cycle, we might witness another one on late 2020 to early 2021.

You're talking about two different things. The price of some tokens has dropped significantly, due to the  lack of investors and dump - in short, because of bear market. (some actually are scam, but not all). Just because a project blocked tokens does not mean that it is a good decision.
Whether prices start to grow is pure speculation and no one can guarantee you anything.

I personally do not have confidence that the altcoin price in mid-2019 will rise. I have a little analysis of the pump period. and it lasts 2-3 years. so that from the last pump it will take another 2 years to return the pump. so I'm still pessimistic. maybe it can happen at the end of 2019 for a small pump.

Looks like this is going to be a long bear market. All we can do is wait for the right moment and hopefully, new money should start flowing in the market and our investments would yield good returns.

I am positive that we will have a bull run this year for sure. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Around this time last year I participated in a bounty where the devs claimed they will lock tokens till october or november last year. Up till now we haven't heard from them.

Possibly and even if bullrun comes, there will be no ATH of course. But 2020 will be a glorious one for the cryptocurrency market and all the past record will be broken in my opinion.

With Bitcoin halving, everyone expects prices to be upward. Market makers often do the opposite. I'm curious to see what happens this time. By the way I believe the first signals for the bull run will come in 2020.

I can't say when they will rise and up to what extent they will rise but they will rise for sure, all you need is patience. Seeing the decade long history of Cryptocurrency, it's clear that there is always a bull run after a bearish trend.

The price will rise only when bitcoin change bearish trend to bullish. My opinion is that the market will grow but not quickly and smoothly. If you look at the price chart, we saw that the market collapsed, but you can see where it started and what was achieved. Look closely and you will understand that bitcoin is growing.

Am afraid, it looks like you may be correct. There is certainly no indication to the fact that there will be a bull run this year. However, its still early to really have a conclusion to that effect. It could turn out to be an amazing year if the right implementations are made with some of the expectations already pointing to that. The industry needs more funds coming in and with the recent news about JP Morgan floating its own crypto coin, it could just be the news that drives in the investments that we have been waiting for.

Since the next bitcoin halving is not going to happen until the second quarter of 2020 and it will take months for the effect of the halving to make the price to go up, I believe the year of 2019 is going to be uneventful compared to the previous two years in which we had a bull market and then a bear market, we are close to the bottom so some investors have started to accumulate coins and are preparing themselves so they can get the greatest benefits once the next bull market happens on 2020 or 2021.

there are many factors that can affect prices. one of them is bitcoin. if bitcoin has started to rise, I think all altcoins will increase. regardless the token in dump sooner or later will definitely rise too. the main factor for market growth is the price of bitcoin. so we only need to wait until the price of bitcoin rises.

I think your title is corrected, maybe we will not see a bull run this year, but maybe we will have small grows and the price of bitcoin will be 10k after medium term, but this can't be considered a bull run in my opinion.

With the same probability we can say that the growth of altcoins will be in September or December 2019. You can name any date, as in the opinion of TS to argue why this happens is not necessary.

You just can't blame only the fail/scam projects. In fact those project does not have much affect on the price of bitcoin or other crypto currencies (unless the project has taken huge lump of coins from investors and ran away while dumping the coins). There are various other reasons why the prices are not rising currently. No one knows if the altcoin will rise again in the middle of 2019. You will just need to have faith on the coins and wait long enough to see what happens.

2019 is not for the bull run but for the constant and steady development of the crypto infrastructure. the result will come years later.

Personally I will say there is no reason for anyone to conclude whether there is a bull run in this year 2019 or not, because we are only in the of this year, so what I think is as the year progresses there will some bull run which may not be to strong, but at least there will be a bull run. I think we shouldn't wait for an increase, as in 2017 year. The price of cryptocurrency has practically become stabilized. The community gradually learns and accepts cryptocurrency, it becomes more popular. Therefore, we can expect growth in 2021. Now there is a new trend- many projects produce their own coin that are confirmed and secured by underlying assets - stablecoin.

One example is GCOX.
They never listed their coin in an exchange. They created their own into where you could only buy and sell GCOX coins.
Well it aint that hard for supporters of that project are famous names like the boxing hall of famer Manny Pacquiao, English football player Michael Owen and American singer Jason Derulo.

I don't think the bull is sleeping, rather Bull is trying to get prepared to run fast! ;D However, you are right that the buyer is very little for the new coins! Many good projects locked their token to avoid the huge dumping like Wemark locked their token more than 5 months, but when they unlocked token and went to the market, the price or the volume was down significantly. Because investors have no faith enough for a new token!

So I think we still have another -40% to drop - of course I can't be sure so I started buying at these prices already.

The bull market is waiting for the right time to appear and we almost right there because many coins can increase slowly although not much. The market is still showing great resistance to the bear market by switching more often to green. This is a good sign happening in 2019. I'm very optimistic about the bull market happening this year. Some people have high expectations that I'm afraid they wouldn't recognize the bull market when it comes. For BTC to hit $5K again is even a bull run.

I can't see a bull run happening early on this year, if it does start, I think it might happen nearer the end of this year or in 2020 before the Bitcoin halving starts. Of course, there will be some pumping and dumping and there will be some coins that will moon and good chances to take some profit, but I think the next bull run will be a slow and steady organic climb. I doubt it will happen as it did so fast and furiously like in the previous bull party. Too many people wisened up by not taking profits in 2018, so now they will dump at any time they see a nice price rise, so a bull run will take a lot more effort next time and will need a lot more mainstream and institutional investors to come into lift this slump in the markets.

We are just in 2nd month of 2019, I hope that after June it is expected that the  bitcoin price and even all the crypto market will start recovering, I hope that not only bitcoin but some other potentially good altcoins will also recover their previous position.

from the investor's point of view, the most important thing is to get the volume and level of popularity of the coin, besides prioritizing sales and development, many projects must improve their community. many large investors are interested in good projects and they have no problem with capital, but the pattern of view will change if the developer is unable to give a sentiment to hold them in a certain period of time.

I believe that we should still hold our holding currency in order to get a better profit while the year seems not gonna make some increase. You really cannot call these short burst as bull run, you might witness more of these market situation for some time and the recovery process will start in the mean time and i expect the price to increase by the end of this year and you will witness many downward movement too on the way to a bull run and i expect it to happen in a couple of years after the halving and that bull run will take the price to another all time high valuation. 

The market falls down because of the many factors affects it but i dont think that scam projects greatly affects it. Scams are always there when in comes to surfing on the internent. Most likely to those sites who are an opportunity to earn money specially cryptocurrency. People are also aware with that so they consider it at first.

I disagree that alts are down because they are failures or scams. They are just subject to the same overall sentiment as the whole market. The smaller the coin, in general the worse the price drop. We can see this even at the top, where BTC has fallen much less than ETH.
I do think we'll see a recovery this year, but probably not to the late 2017 levels.

If you're looking for short term analysis, then definitely we can say that there will be no bullish signal whatsoever. But if you're going to look at let's say in the next 6-12 months, then obviously a lot of things can happen and we may say that at least there could be one positive news that will turn this market around.

The problem is that people or casual investors wanted to see a dramatic turn. Like seeing the price goes to $3k-$20k is short amount of time. It's not possible and we don't want that to happen because that will be another bubble waiting to be burst. And if that happens, then we will return back into another bearish cycle. Whether it is gonna go beyond the bull market expectation or not, from my understanding the bull trend is being blocked by whales who have got the potential to manipulate the market. Maybe this will get out of the resistance level making a large scale price move towards $5000 or even higher as whales cannot stop the market trend beyond certain point.

They are good at that, they know how to manipulate the market and therefore we should know that they are manipulating it in order for us to make a good strategy to still have it on our advantage. How could you be sure that Bitcoin is going to reach $50000? I also expect a rise after this big dump. But it is not easy to really know how Bitcoin is going to move at the current situation. We don't really know if the bottom has already been reached or not.

ok., so what is a definition of a bull?, that it makes new high higher then 2017?, that it broke the upper trendline in USD? or in BTC?, is it 24.5% fibo retracement on weekly chart, or is it 38.6%, or is it 50%, i dont think its 61.8% fibo retracement on weekly start the definition of a bull start,...to me, the bull started after it bottomed, do we know if bottomed, no we dont, can we say that some did bottom. sure we can. we can say the alts bottom, i dont think LTC or EOS or ETH will go below their all time lows recently, so if they dont go down, they go either sideway or up, if they go either sideway or up, with little chance of going down, the bull has started for them. even if they drop for 20 or 30%, it still means bull started.

Altcoins are down but some of them are pumping much more than bitcoin itself. If you invest in TEZOS you would have seen returns of 70% while bitcoin is still only moving at around 2% on a good day.
