Title: how many times have you intended to stop gambling
Post by: Mr.suevie on February 08, 2023, 04:02:57 AM
Gambling has become an everyday thing for some people and this act has lead to serious addiction which is not good. When gambling we should understand that we are just playing for fun. Most people i know around always take gambling as a very serious issue and i have this particular friend that always complains to me how he has stopped gambling but from no where you still see him gambling again. Me myself am a sesonal gambler and i only gamble on the sport i know which is soccer, i think exploration of new gambling games you are familiar with also causes this repeated feeling of always quitting gambling. I just want to know if this phrase is common among everyone or its just he catch phrase whenever you experiences a big loss.

I haven't tried to stop but because it's not a problem for me. I play little, with low amounts, being aware that the odds are against me, and always with money I can afford to lose. I take it as an entertainment expense, with the difference that from time to time I come out with more money than I put in.

So, I don't have to set out to stop, and in fact, there are seasons when I don't gamble, simply because I don't feel like it or because I'm busy and don't even think about it.

I believe it was only once or twice, back when I started out (which was in highschool). As a kid back then I was into gambling due to the influence of my friends, nothing big, I only played with my friends anw but with money involved but I did realize back then it may lead to something worse if I kept on going on. My girlfriend then also pushed me to stop since she didn't really like me gambling with money, so I stopped that is until at least my 2nd/3rd year of college. Slowly got back to it and here we are now, still gambling but in a balanced way (imo anyway).

It's pretty common for those gamblers who lose a lot. I am sure that most of us hear this coming from a gambler who has intense emotions due to losses and is complaining to the casino that it is not fair, but after the emotions calm down, you see him again depositing money, and after winning some games, he wouldn't be saying anything. Though mostly the reason for this is that they are just addicted or they just can't quit due to their need to earn money.

Many people see gambling as a very serious business because it is their full-time job maybe because of unemployment or greed. They put more than what they can afford to lose. The truth is losing in gambling is very painful but you don't need to invest more than you can bear.
Like every other form of perceived unethical behavior gambling is addictive. But it is not all gambling addicts that are bad losers. Some people play gambling often, when they lose or gain you might never notice. Betting only on the sports you know doesn't free you from gambling addiction. You can bet only on one sport and still be a strong gambling addict, just ensuree you identify when you are going off-limits. I have never tried stopping gambling because I might have been addicted to other things, but I have never been a gambling addict.

When I wanted to stop to gamble, I stopped, because I lost so much and I have to stop around that time and I stopped gambling for one good year. Before I thought of stopping, I have never thought of stopping gambling before. Some gamblers might tell some people that they have stopped, but not from their mind, maybe that is what happened to your friend, not being truthful with you when it comes to gambling. You may see him losing and advising him to stop, and him telling you he has stopped, but not.

It will always depend on the determination of each person to be able to stop gambling even if only for a while because that means if he is able to stop he is able to control himself when to play and when to stop, and so far I am still able to do it, and if you find it difficult to stop gambling it could be that he doesn't have any activities that can be used to spend his time, so for those of you who find it difficult to stop try doing other activities so that your mind can be distracted and not just focused on gambling.

It depends on how he wants to stop because it will not be easy to really stop gambling and leave it.
Especially if he were someone who had gambled for a long time and gambled almost daily, he would feel that hardship.
Maybe he can tell his family or friends and ask for their help to really leave gambling for good.
The temptation to gamble is indeed great, but we as users who often play gambling, should be able to resist the temptation so that it doesn't become big.
I always try to limit myself instead of stopping gambling because I really feel that it is not the time to stop gambling yet.

I only think I have stopped once in my life after getting to know to gamble. yes, it's because I'm completely out of money. but after I realized it, it was really hard. so I every week set aside a small portion of my money to bet.
I feel it's not an addiction that I do. but I don't know what other people think. what is clear is that I am now depositing money with a fixed allocation every week for me to play.
I just hope to be consistent with what I do. and not get my finances involved in the gambling that I do.

Some people can't stop and some can just forget about it and go on to doing something else. If a person had already gone addicted to gambling before and then overcome it when he was still a teen, I think it's easier for him to stop. For someone who had just become addicted to gambling and then wanted to stop, it may require willingness.

I do gamble with dice and blackjack from time to time but when I lose the amount I allocated for that time, I also quit and let go of the loss.

I've not had the intention to stop gambling because it helps my brain power to grow. It helps my thinking and as I keep playing my gambling experience increases. But, I always intend to moderate how I play games not to get addicted. Gambling is always fun and I don't intend to make a living through gambling, so it's not something I'm doing too often to an extent of advising myself to stop playing again. Hence, your point has to do with self control, and people with such attitudes gets frustrated from the same game that makes others get happy. I think it's a personal experience and people differs, similarly, we see gambling differently. A player can decide to play black jack and slot games randomly and studying how it works at same time. In the process, they won't get fed up from playing, even while losing funds, because they want to know how the machine works.

Be it a teen or an adult, to quit gambling after they have been addicted requires willingness. The problem that most addicted gamblers face is that they are not welling to stop, once they think that this is not helping them and can destroy their life as they are addicted and willing to stop, they will stop.

I do gamble with dice and blackjack from time to time but when I lose the amount I allocated for that time, I also quit and let go of the loss.
You let go of the loss, but you did not quit gambling, you only stop gambling for awhile for a bad mind not to build up within you at the time which can make you to lose significant sum of money in gambling.

A lot of times I have been losing really bad. That is the only time when almost everyone of us swear to himself that they won't touch gambling ever again. However the problem is that time heals everything and with the passing of time our rage feeling and sadness that makes us promise ourselves that we will stop gambling fades away and we are heavily gambling again as soon as things have cooled down.Yesterday I have been playing really hard slot machines and I have lost a lot of money and thought I will never touch gambling again yet here I am today placing sport bets on Manchester United.

I haven't wanted to give up gambling completely and I still gamble occasionally. But I don't have a gambling addiction, be it mild or severe because I almost had it in the past and didn't want to experience it. If your friend could learn to control himself while gambling, I don't think he would have a gambling addiction and would be able to stop gambling whenever he wanted. You as his friend can teach him how to control himself so he can follow you and at the same time, cure his gambling addiction. But it takes time to recover and you can stay by his side to help him recover.

I never try to intend to stop it as i used gambling for entertaining purposes only.  I used my free money and yeah i feel nothing lose by doing some gambling. The fact that if it's very funny to fight with code. It's about how luck you are when you were dealing in casino or something else.
Sport gambling shall be got an exception caused by this is far easy rather than doing casino or something else. People who have been addicted to it shall try to decrease their addiction. They shall change their vision to think gambling for entertaining purpose only rather than a way to change their lives.
Mostly of people who addicted with it sees gambling as a way to become a rich person instantly.

Well i would say this is actually kind of my cash phrase then when i was still a chronic gambler and the bitter part of it is that it was at my early stage of life. When i first experience gambling, the act grew on me and i actually sort of had an addiction to it, l lost alot of money and when i tried to recover my losses it further made me loose more. I would say it was just by the grace of God that i have eventually slowed down on my gambling ways,  i normally just see gambling as a extra activity now so whenever am free and have some cash to squander thats when i do my gambling. I think its better this way less stress on me and little losses and no hard feelings after lost.

2 years ago I wanted to stop gambling but I realized that it is hard to completely stop so I decided to reduce my gambling activity step by step. Starting from reducing my funds and time, and the result is that now I do not gamble as much as I did years back. Most casinos also provide self exclusion feature that may help us to stop gambling, but I did not use it because I believe it will be useless feature if we do not start it from our own will.

Some gamblers who are addicted in gambling has a bad habit of going back over and over again despite their claims that they will not gamble anymore. This is because of lack of professional intervention and medical help to get them over their addiction. No necessary treatment and rehabilitation was done in most cases, hence, they end up having a relapse whenever they want to cut gambling off their lives.

Some gambler addicts can surpass this challenge all by themselves and with the help of those people around them, but in most instances, they don't fully recover and overcome it because once they decide to flush it from their system, sooner or later, they'll feel the need for it and thus crave for it even more. With this, the outcome is them going back to their old habits and repeating the cycle.

The number of times that a gambler tries to stop gambling shows the degree to which the individual is addicted. This may be categorized as mild addiction, moderate addiction, or severe addiction. A gambler who is moderately addicted to gambling would have no difficulty abstaining from the casino. On a personal note, since I go into gambling with two aims—have fun and do not exceed your budget—I have had no need to try to stop gambling. In other words, I gamble responsibly.

I have never decided to stop gambling, but I have decided not to open my slots account until unlimited time. Of course this is a difficult decision, almost like I will stop completely, (its been more than 2 months, never playing slots), I'm afraid I expect too much to win but end up losing. We all know that when you lose, it's very easy to getting lose a lot of money coz of emotion, so I paused to playing until I could play with better control and financial conditions.  ;D

Yeah, I think it's very common for the majority of gamblers who wanted to stop gambling,

a. you came from a big lost, and says to yourself that you want to stop gambling for good, so this might last for days or months
b. but after that period, you start to think of gambling again, want to scratch that itch again and maybe you can recoup your losses.

I think that's what on the mind of gamblers, specially b wherein they find that as a excuse to go back again.

I never stop or quit gambling, maybe there was a time because I don't have a job so my save money is for my family, to bring food in the table. But once I got a stable job again, 9-5 and earning decent, then I slowly comeback to gamble.

But it's just betting on some sports and then slots as well. But I'm not that addicted, I can go on for months not wanting to gamble because I set my priorities. However, there could be individual who are totally addicted and can't simply stop.

Every single time I had a huge loss I tell myself that this is the last time I gamble big. But somehow I continue placing odds. Cant say this is an addiction, because I did not rush to gambler, I did not try to win back my money by making a new deposit. This is just my greed. Numerous times I have failed with "I'll just bet all-in in dice with 95% win rate few times" after a streak of small bet wins. The bitter of a loss releases me quick, as I make deposits like 20-30 bucks to gamble with small bets, and this all-in loss is a end point in my gambling session. I had fun, I've paid for it.

Always play for the amount that you don't mind losing and then there will be no problems with addiction.Personally, I don't see the point in going all in and gambling for large sums, the game should be fun and not cause you stress.People who have problems with self-control should not participate in any gambling at all, this will only cause losses.

It's natural to have the intention to stop whenever you are faced with big losses, some actually stopped for a period of time to cool down after a huge loss, I did this so many times and will continue to do this its good for your mental health so you can breathe, relax and forget your losses I lose count on how many times I stop for a period of time and think of stopping but always go back especially in boxing and basketball when I see good local matchups.
Its part of your gambling activity to stop for a period of time, addiction comes when you continuously gambling without a perios of rest.

When some people are having fun and spending good time gambling others are struggling with addiction and gambling issues so since I’m on the type one of people where i only enjoy some time gambling with few money that I’m ready to lose and won’t effect me in any way, Beside never trying to chase my losses and spend more money after losing. I never thought about stopping gambling before since i didn’t come cross a any issue doing. If someone is losing much money that he needs or his family needs then it’s time for him to admit that he is addicted and it’s affecting his life in negative ways. First step to fo is seeking support from therapist or even his closest friends.

I'm just trying to limit or reduce my gambling activities, and to stop is not at all as easy as people say and there have to be stages that must be done until I really want to stop.
and now I only gamble when there is free time and there is a desire to gamble and with a little capital that has been provided and for fun, and the most important thing is to learn to control myself not to keep playing. And if the capital runs out then I will stop and if I am lucky or get a win I also have to stop so I can get a full win.
Gambling activities can be reduced by having a full time job like me because after work I use the rest of the time to rest and only play on weekends and even then when there is a desire to play and if not I don't gamble.
and I felt the difference before having a steady job and after having a steady job, and I thought if I wanted to quit I think I could, but I'm not being a hypocrite as long as I still like it I'll keep playing and maybe just lessen or limit. And to stop completely there will be a time and at the right time.

I only play gambling to fill the void of time and am not a gambling addict, so I only play gambling when my free and empty time is usually on weekends which are saturated. I often play gambling like you play soccer betting bets on weekends. I have no intention of stopping.

I think majority here has one time think or intend to stop their gambling or gambling addiction. The thing is that it's hard to quit specially if we are winning. Maybe when we lose, and lose everything, then most likely we will have to quit for sometime before we can recover.

So it's not a myth, even if you go to online casinos and talk to some of the patrons, they will tell you point blank that this is the last time. But the next night you will see them again inside the casino playing with what little money they got.

I think the gambling industry is a growing sector that needs to be properly taken advantage of and by doing that I mean adequate management of everything, I have not had the thought to stop gambling because for me I am late into gambling and I have adequate time management.

There is a stop time for me and I don't go beyond that time.

For me, this is entertainment, and I don’t always have time for this, since I devote a lot of time to my family and my business. Sometime in the past, when I was a student, this was a very serious hobby for me, I tried to understand if I could earn money from gambling, I played almost every day and tried many strategies. In the end, I came to the conclusion that this is too difficult an activity, and I began to treat it as entertainment.

I never stop gambling because I can handle my money and emotion, so it wouldn't make me become an addict.

I don't know where you live, but if gambling is forbidden in your country, it's mean the only way for you and your friend to gamble are through online casino. So in order to stop gambling, your friend need to seek for professional, uninstall all of the software in his device and only install application which is safe for kids. So there's no way for him to gamble and there's no gambling ads anymore.

Your friend is obviously addicted to gambling already. Yeah, there are individuals who play for fun, but still though, money is involved. So unless you have money to burn, when you gamble you think of winning.

Good for you, I guess majority here are also into sports betting because the chance to win is high as compare to slot games. Not sure if there are gamblers willing to explore new sports though, because if you don't know the rules then you might bet on teams that is on the losing side. Yes, I think whenever we experience a big loss, before we go to sleep we think of quitting already. But when we wake up the next morning, it might be different.

Same for myself too. I don’t see any gambling addiction towards how I gamble because I only gamble whenever I have extra money intended for gambling. And it’s very occasional too when my friends and I would go into gambling casinos to entertain ourselves. That’s why it’s never an issue for me on how to stop gambling since I was never really serious when it comes to gambling.

Although I am not addicted to gambling, but from time to time I just want to try my luck and, as a rule, once I lose, I am once again convinced that this is not the best way for me to make money, after that I can not return to the game for a long time. And of course I'm not trying to recoup, it can only worsen the situation, for myself I have long concluded that luck in gambling does not help me.

I know that in life there are points we may want to give up due to the fact that our expectations aren't meant the way we wanted them, and the same applies to all of us gamblers on this forum, because I have literally stopped gambling twice, due to the fact that I lost a very huge amount of money, and I thought maybe gambling wasn't meant for me, and the best solution was to give up. But after some months I found myself gambling again, but this time at a moderated pace.

So it's okay to take a break from gambling if you notice it's affecting your finance.

I stop losing count and stop counting because there's no use counting you will only get disappointed and what's the point of counting if you will do it again and again, you can stop whenever you want if you lose a big amount or you are busy into something I have known gamblers who stop one time or many times but eventually return playing, you're not a gambler if you never stop or think of stopping, I think its part of being responsible, stopping when you think you're taking it to much.

Several times.

But, In the end you're still coming back. However, If you still coming back to gambling my biggest advice try to move your money into your family you can be trust. Ask them to control it.

If gambling is bad for you and you have many attempts to stop and those attempts have failed, It may become more difficult for you to stop because the mindset and idea that since you have tried many times without success in trying to stop, gambling may actually be impossible for you to stop. With every failed attempt to end an addiction, it becomes more of a problem to stop, that is why every person in that position has to also be truthful to themselves to know that they need help from professionals.

Do not be afraid to seek help from professionals, your case is not peculiar and you can still stop gambling if that is your intention.

Countless times but most of those instances were when I was losing big time. And if I remember it correctly those were my younger years in this industry wherein I used to be a high roller. I was losing big time which always gave me the idea to quit dince there's a tendency for me to end up with debt if I won't make a change. Fortunately, I came across with sports gambling which somehow changed my vision in this industry. I enjoyed my experience more since I am into sports in the first place therefore making me not only into profit but also for entertainment. From that I've learned to set limits with the amount I would be spending in this industry, up until this point.

Stop gambling if you have mental problems or depression but for me this is still quite manageable and I have never used big money but the extra money that I get in crypto is not always on the gambling board continuously, I only often when betting sports which are favorites and some of the slots that are played when there is boredom just playing some games.
We should never think that gambling can make money, let alone get rich, that is a wrong reality, enough with entertainment that you play gambling must be fun.

Generally when a gambler can make a lot of money, of course he will feel very addicted and always want to bet. But subconsciously the defeat he experienced was far greater than the gain he had before. It is done almost every day then the addiction will start to appear and it will be very hard to get rid of. I am also a gambler but I can always control what I bet and not keep fixating on the results because if I think about it continuously it will make my life even more ruined. Therefore the importance of self-control over our will is the main point for a gambler if he wants to stop gambling.

Not intended but actually stopped for a while I have a two-week break after I lose, but after I forgot what I lose, I get back and recover some of my losses, stopping for a few days is good, and part of your mindset of controlling how you gamble, only compulsive gamblers continue to gamble until there's nothing left for them, that is why some casino have an exclusion period feature because they know that gamblers need to take a break from time to time.

I didn't have plans to stop gambling but I can pause and rest from it whenever I want. I could stop for a while whenever I have big losses but I have no intentions of quitting since it's one of the best things that entertain me whenever I feel stressed. Gambling serves as my source of fun and entertainment but if I could feel that I'm already playing beyond my limits, I stop and control my urge to gamble. If we can control ourselves from too much gambling, quitting or stopping anytime will never be that hard.

I have tried many times to stop gambling, but apparently, I still can't do it because the temptation to continue gambling always comes, especially when I have money. I can deposit money weekly to my gambling account and play the slot games I like. But even so, it didn't make me play too long and cause me to suffer big losses because I realized the longer I played, my losses could be bigger than I could imagine. But I'm not complaining because I haven't been able to stop gambling and try to enjoy it. After all, I think this is a process before I can really stop gambling one day.

Those who had huge losses always intend to stop gambling. That is natural for humans; an anger; a reaction to something negative. If burned, people dont touch hot pan twice. Every person who has lost the game he though he will win, will always think of stop gambling.

When we speak about gambling, we automatically think about addiction. That is why a person can only pause his gambling habbits, be he is not able to stop it completely. Those who say they can - they lie, they just cant accept the fact they are weak.

For gamblers who have an addiction to it, it will be really difficult for them to stop it. Unless they force themselves not to play at the casino.

So just like I said it won't be easy on the part of the gamblers who are addicted to the casino, especially since they are already experienced in winning large sums of money. Because their mindset is that they will win again more than they won.

Some people can't stop and some can just forget about it and go on to doing something else. If a person had already gone addicted to gambling before and then overcome it when he was still a teen, I think it's easier for him to stop. For someone who had just become addicted to gambling and then wanted to stop, it may require willingness.

But that proves I can stop any moment after all I don't think I'm addicted. Anyone can practice gambling the same way especially if they have a priority for example doing thier regular job than gambling all the time. Or having a family to take care of which is an obligation.

Once they find thier priority in life, everything else can be forgotten. Having a kid divides the attention of a person + a job to keep and mortgages and so on. A family man understands this I guess.

I honestly tried to stop gambling more than twice before especially when I have big losses and even used the funds that aren't allocated for gambling. I was so distressed at that time and didn't know where to get funds to repay thw money that I used for gambling. I stopped for a year and learned my lesson but I still got back and have been a responsible gambler. I have learned enough from that experience so I already know how to discipline myself when it comes to gambling.

I tried a couple of times to quit gambling after serious losses when I was in full despair over the lost money, but I still returned to the casino after a while. Gambling is something that accompanies us throughout life, so it's very difficult to completely outgrow gambling. In my opinion, it is better to learn to control yourself with gambling and limit your bankroll to play.

I don't think i have thought to quitting gambling or if i have done so in times past it should be in the early days of gambling but i can't quit because i gamble seasonally. I know of someone who managed to stop gambling with the help of friends and loved ones but yet it wasn't easy.

But one thing i have experienced personally about gambling is no matter how much a gambler tries to stop as long as they keep surrounding themselves with what gives them the drive to gamble, chances are that the former gambler will be lured into trying out a few odd. It somehow impossible quitting gambling by self determination except someone comes to help.

Never. I just switched to sports gambling. Then, to never feel that bad loss, I don't gamble big amounts anymore. Don't chase losses that will make you double the losses if it fails. Take just half of the bet.
Discipline will play an important role when you are gambling and I've been keeping it clear that I should not go for fast games like Slots or Dice because that's where I lose a lot back in the day.
Just thinking about that huge amount of BTC (years ago) accumulated loss in one gambling site makes me regret it even now.
But, you will have to learn from it instead of quitting. Because I have seen gamblers who tried to quit and just made it worst. They are now gambling addicts.

To me gambling is an addictive behaviour or habbit that takes an individual whose personal decisions is taken as their priority to really put a stop to it, gambling as it sound has many things involved more expecially when you are favoured by the act you always see yourself going for more in the other hand when you loss you will still continue hoping that one day you will surely win, using myself as a case study I have not thought of stoping it because sincerely I want to hit high and that's the mindset of a real gambler.

My advice; Keep playing and enjoying.

The only times I have tried to stop gambling "forever" is when I made big losses which made me angry and out of that very anger, I swore "never to gamble again". But here I am, gambling ;D

Unless someone has an obvious gambling addiction which is crippling his finances and his personal or work life, I do not think that promising to yourself never to gamble again is meant as a serious dedication.

So how many times have I sworn (without taking it seriously) to stop gambling? Many times.

How many times have I SERIOUSLY tried to stop? Not one time.

Whenever I experience big loss I make plans to quit gambling. With much difficulty it lasts for atleast one month. Soon after that once again the wavering mind gets directed into gambling. At times long break gives good winning during comeback, but missing the comeback luck and continuing to make further wins once again leads to loss. So most of the time while making comeback I used to limit myself and enjoy the winning. Every gambler would've made such decision atleast once.

in my case, I don't think about stopping because I play for fun, I just make sports bets, for example I put 10$ in my bankroll to be able to play, and I set bets for each game from 1.40 to 1.50$ and when I win until I get 20 $ of bankroll I keep playing until the bankroll grows and then I withdraw and leave 10$ and start doing the same thing of making bets with 1.40 to 1.50$ and increasing the bet amount every time I win and mine capital increase.

it is necessary to manage the bankroll well and have a good game strategy, if the person, for example, plays today with 10$ and the next day plays with 40$ while only having 50$ of bankroll, that person will lose all the bankroll because he did not have good management and of course he will say he will stop playing, but the next day he will make a deposit and lose again

Except for newbies in gambling I don't think I've made some necessary steps in stopping how i gambles since it does not affect me in a negative way, i believe what we need to control is the addiction and not the gambling since we gambling at our leisure with all convenience, no one forces other to gamble, we make use of our earned money to also gamble, so it should be what we desire and get ancious to do, stopping it means we made a wrong decision by starting at first, which i believe that gambling should not be a regrettable decision if taken since we were not forced to do so.

I have stopped gambling twice.

Firstly, when I was in my first year in school,I do gamble on dice with my friends  in my neighborhood. It all started in a cool evening when we were gambling, I was winning big and so I was very happy and forgot to stop at that moment, before I knew it,I was losing and lost everything even with the money I borrowed. The owner of the money arrested me and I had nobody to assist me with cash to payback. So I was in the police custody up to three days before someone help me out from that crap.

Secondly, was when I used my tuition fee for gambling in my final year which affected the time I was suppose to graduate from the university. Now am a responsible gambler and would continue gambling, since I can control myself on it.

If your mind and body tell you from the inside STOP no matter for what (most probably for losing money, or maybe time), you need to quit the gambling and re think all yourself and life, because you were hooked and you can fall more.

Clearly. If you want to stop doing something and continue doing it, you definitely have a problem. I think a lot of people lean on addiction to explain their problems as well, but to me that’s a cop out. Nobody forces you to do things you don’t want to do. If you keep gambling when you know you should stop then you are just a weak minded individual who lets their greed control them. Just quit cold turkey if you need to. Quit listening to people who sympathize with what you’re going for a take some responsibility for your actions.

Definitely, but it's two different things in my opinion, it's the emotion though that you need to conquer. If you don't have control over it, even if your mind says to stop, you can still go back and gamble and continue.

If your mind and body tell you from the inside STOP no matter for what (most probably for losing money, or maybe time), you need to quit the gambling and re think all yourself and life, because you were hooked and you can fall more.

Again it's takes more than that. That's why gambling addiction is way different to let's say quitting smoking. It will really take a lot from you, mind, body and the help from within your circles, families and friends before you can quit gambling for good.

The more you try stopping it to gamble the harder it becomes because you're just too used to it, yes we all find it difficult to stop what we have started especially when we derive this kind of satisfaction in it, I don't make any move towards putting a stop to my gambling lifestyle because it's not beyond my control or what a couldn't cope doing anymore, but in case of those interested to quit a d put a stop then they should work on a substitute first than starting the unfinished task.

For me gambling is not something foreign, since I was young. so, it's only natural that I was once part of a gambling addict. be it traditional gambling, land-based casinos, or fiat casinos. the worst thing was when I started playing poker, baccarat, etc., I had a hard time with what happened to my life personally. not infrequently, I often try to stop gambling. I don't know how many times I tried it, I don't even remember. and frankly, it's very hard to do. the temptation and strong urge to play gambling, always crossed my mind.

Until finally, I can control myself well. then crypto casinos appeared, I switched from fiat casinos and played at crypto casinos. armed with my experience in the past, at least, I have limits and self-control so as not to be led to addiction. and the most important point is, understanding and responsibility. if someone is able to decipher the meaning of both, i'm pretty sure. Gambling can be interpreted as just being a fun part of entertainment, without having to harm other people, family, and even ourselves.

In my case the answer is never. I don't gamble very often and I don't lose a lot of money doing it so I don't feel the need to stop. I feel like only when you know you're addicted or gambling makes a negative impact on your life you should start thinking of stopping. Why should a casual drinker who drinks a few beers once a week when he's out with friends should stop? It's the same with gamblers. You can be a casual gambler or keep doing it all day, every day.

None, because I was never addicted to gambling, I am very disciplined and I only gamble when I can afford it, most times 1% of my earnings per week is why I use it for gambling, if you said you find it very hard to stop gambling it means you are addicted to gambling. I think it's also better to gamble not only because of the earnings but out of deriving fun.

Always I had to stop gambling due to losses I did it without further issues, besides a temporary urge, impulse to keep playing, because it's really hard to accept you lost and it's game over. But after controling that temporary emotion I quit gambling until recovering my losses through another sources of income, so I can come back to gambling again later.

Right now, I'm recovering myself from a loss, so I quited gambling, although I have plans to gamble again once I conclude this recovery.

If you mean stop by trimming down your gambling habits, then I would have to say its a thing of the past that came at a cost of  my persistence but, if your talking about putting a complete halt on it? I just haven't. Gambling hasn't been much of a problem as I am always in control of my gambling habits.

It's not just drinks tht you get to "drink responsibly". Even gambling too, you've got to be responsible while gambling. You shouldn't gamble if you can't handle yourself, if you've got no stable means of income, don't know where or when to draw the line and head home or logout.

There is a reason why it's often rated 18years and above. Not like those above 18years of age should gamble but, it someworth defines a level of reasoning that is expected of an individual if that age. Handle yourself good while gambling.

Sometimes also really long likewise months or year. Maybe I can gamble with some free funds just for not waste some bonus.

I can take a bet or gamble just because I find something that really deserve attention otherwise during these periods I don't place literally no bets.

Probably after years and years of gambling yes I am not playing as before so probably I am going to stop any activity on it.

I'm not sure how many of me there were, but in the end it was just crap. You can never get away from gambling if you are still in this industry every day. I've even been off for a few months, but I can still come back the next month. Just by lowering the intensity I think the problem can be minimized, but someone who is very troubled should plan to stop completely and consult for recovery.

Finally the decision to stop can only be arranged by you, but success or failure only depends on how you have the intention and prevent yourself from getting involved.

That's the power of addiction,  when one is addicted to gambling it doesn't just become easy for one stop immediately after making decisions. It takes the grace of God and total self agreement to conquer gambling. People who are addicted are willing to stop after making their decisions but in few time they have urge for gambling becomes active in them and if one is not strong enough to overcome the urge they will definitely fall to it and go back to gambling.  It is important every gambler get to know their is addiction in gambling and get a limit to play gambling not to get addicted.

A very common reaction and words to be said for those someone who are really just experiencing consecutive loss on which you would really be definitely saying that you would be stopping completely which it would really be that not that true most of the time on where you would be playing once again if you do see some opportunity on doing so.Self control is the main issue of most gamblers on where they do really fail out
on doing so.If they do quit then they should mean it and not just on the time that you do suffer huge loss or long consecutive. Its not that surprising anymore and we know that
each person does have its own level of tolerance when it comes to this one.

I never had such intentions... I had/have moments when I decide not to play some games ever again, then months (or years) go by without playing that game, but somehow I always come back at some point. With a new approach and different strategies, at least I like to think it's like that.

I have periods when I don't gamble for different reasons... because I don't have enough time or money, anyway it's not like something disturbing for me. I learned to be patient and wait for "my moment". I guess that comes with age and experience... Gambling should be fun and entertaining, I will never stop gambling probably, but I learned to control my temper a lot compared with myself in my 20ies, and probably early 30ies!

There are times that I’m thinking to stop gambling because I realize that I’m just wasting my time and focus on trading instead but since I don’t gamble that much, it didn’t push through and I’m still gambling if there’s still an extra money. It’s true that its not easy to quit gambling but if you are already addicted to this, you must do everything to avoid gambling and save yourself from drowning. Being responsible can be a big help, make sure you are gambling within your means and you just want to have fun.

I haven't thought about stopping gamble, in the sense that I only gamble with a specific amount of money, which I do budget from my monthly income. Another thing I see,is that I entertain myself when am gambling therefore, I see gambling as fun. Weekends is when I give more time to gambling. Someone who intends to stop gambling must have his own personal reason to do that, which might not be the same as others.

Since I’m also an occasional gambler, i didn’t try to stop gambling because I’m on a budget every time I gamble and I know the risk of losing the money which makes me more responsible. Its hard to stop gambling if you are already exposed to it, you can just limit your playing time though.

I won't be sure if I really stop or I should say really really stop gambling. There are times before where I stop gambling but not for too long which I gamble again and then stop again and later gamble again until O finally stop and as I have said it's been a month since then. Honestly, I haven't thought of that how many times and if I did gamble again then I think I should try to count how many times IF I start gambling again.

A very common word indeed on which i had experience it a lot of time for myself that i would be quitting gambling for good but on the time that rage deep inside you would be wiped away or on the time that you do make out some next bet winning then those frustrations and anger would be wiped away on an instant and this is why they would really be just forgetting on what they had experience earlier on which it would be an endless cycle for most gamblers where they would be continuing to play if they wanted to and this is where there's no stopping on playing into those people who arent really that good when it comes
to self control.

There's a saying about being a gambler, stays to someone's blood until he or she fully changed. We find something in gambling that makes us happy and even if we're losing, it doesn't matter. As long as we're satisfied and our cravings to gamble has been given, that's the only thing that we want to see. And to answer the question about how many times did I attempted to quit, well, they were like tons of times and I can't count them. Whenever I lose, I'll tell that I quit but tomorrow I'll be back so I'm sure that something like happens to all of us.

For now I don't think about quitting gambling because I don't really have any problem with gambling currently, I only gamble for fun or when am bored, I don't gamble frequently so am not really addicted to gambling, I will start thinking about how to quit whenever I noticed that am beginning to be addicted to gambling which I don't think it will happen. If someone have been addicted to gambling, it's always difficult to quit, must addicted gamblers really want to stop but they can't, even if they try they will still endup going back to it.

Gamblers who often lose will surely make a lot of complaints until they decide to just stop gambling because it’s not healthy for them after all. But everytime they start winning again, their decision changes instantly. Instead, they want to bet more so they can chase their previous losses, and win much bigger profits. Until we see them losing again and promise to quit already gambling, but after that day there they are gambling again trying their luck, hoping to win this time.

This post has brought back memories from my past and my entire history as a gambler. I flash back the one time I used money budgeted for something else to gamble thinking I could double it because I was going through a rough patch in life and needed money terribly.
After that incident, I had a deep personal reflection. I knew tot wasn't who I was and almost came to the conclusion to stop gambling but I enjoy it so much and it make me unhappy quitting. So, instead I decided to become intentional and disciplined about it. It's one of the best decision I have ever made.

If you are that someone who doesnt still accept that he's that not able to control his gambling activities or which it would be considered to be an addiction then you wont really be stopping gambling no matter what.
You might be able to avoid but you would be still playing in the end because you hadn't been able to accept and determined yourself on quitting.Losing is inevitable and very common on gambling on which everyone
would really be experiencing it.It does really only differ on how someone could be able to tolerate that kind of losing situation which they would neither be ending up on being impulsive
or they would just simply move on since they are already anticipating or expecting it.

Again a friend of a friend...

I think that what we should do is, for example, look at your betting habits, what and where you are betting...

In any case, it is pathetic to think that you are an addict because you are a loser, it is a myth to think that those who constantly lose money are addicts, it is a fallacy, the addict is only interested in gambling, it is the pleasure that catches him.

One should leave the game at any time, even if it is not habitual, regular, recreational, etc.

Then, occasionally You have to say the phrase "I have not bet for a long time", if you have never done it, so, "it may be" that you are a candidate for addiction, nah! but whatever, please! you can spend about $100 on a specialist, seriously, an expert psychologist on the subject can clinically detect it.

Perhaps it is the best money spent that one can take to bet on a result, it is a life ROI that is worth doing.

I just want to know if this phrase is common among everyone or its just he catch phrase whenever you experiences a big loss.

I also hear this phrase but saw the one saying it quit for a while then sometime later go back to gambling while others just quit completely.   I think the losses triggers the gambler to say this thing and those who came back gambling again doesn't really mean they will quit but rather means they will take a break.

I never intended to stop gambling, but I often take a break whenever my session isn't doing that well.  I never had a heavy loss since I only play with the money I can afford to lose.  I may have consecutive losses but it is fine since I am playing with free money.

We should always consider gambling what we can afford to lose in order for us to not get affected by gambling losses and get a problem on financing side.

it's not just a phrase that comes from people who experienced a big loss. I've heard the same phrase "I'll stop gambling after this" from gamblers who won a sizable amount of money, they usually go back to gambling again after a week or so. I have a feeling that their reason for gambling again despite them saying they'll stop is because they think they will be lucky again just like the last time but the majority of the time they don't.

If you love watching sports and in the same time you like to bet on it, then it's very hard to completely stop on it, until you have nothing left. I tried to stop every time I got big lost, but when I watch a sport, I feel like I have good feeling on it and it would be a waste if I don't bet lol. I cant stop it but I can reduce the amount of my stakes, and sometimes I dont watch some matches.

Yeah, I think it's smart to take a break from gambling when things aren't going good. I do that too sometimes. And it's important to always gamble responsibly and only use money you don't mind losing. As long as you only play with money you can afford to lose, no need to worry about big losses. But what do you mean you only play with free money? You never deposit? Then I wouldn't really call it gambling...

This is similar to those which after a night out in which they were drinking alcohol and they are suffering from a major hangover swear they are never going to drink alcohol again, and yet the very next week they are already planning on going out and consume alcohol again, those promises should be taken with a grain of salt since there was never any intention to fulfill them, only those which after thinking about the effects their behavior is having on themselves and the persons around them will make the commitment to stop consuming alcohol, drugs or gambling and make a real attempt to stay away from those activities.

Taking a break from gambling should be a regular thing and practice for every smart gambler because when you gamble excessively you tend to lose control but by taking a break once in a while,  it makes you more relax and independent and free to make the right decisions when and how to make a deposit and playtime.

Gambling is like trading,  a member should have a stop loss point, that is when to stop when the dice is no longer in your favour, it is called discipline. Ww

^I am also a seasonal gambler now not like before when I was fully addicted to playing poker but no I want to bet only in sports betting.
I remember before when I have a huge loss playing poker and I said to myself to stop and never gamble, this attempt has probably happened twice every time when I have a huge loss but after a few months, I still miss gambling. Thinking to quit gambling after a huge loss will probably be a natural reaction in most gamblers but I know deep inside they will never let themselves come up with such a decision. So gamble only what you can afford and enjoy gambling because that is for fun.

Personally, my addiction is not on the point that I should intentionally "stop it" since I can practice its discipline and self-control from the very start.

People who struggle in eliminating and stopping gambling are the ones who are addicted to it to the point that it is destructive to their livelihood. Though that may be the case, they are at least on the first step towards curing their addiction- which is acknowledging that they are indeed addicted to it.

In order to fully eliminate such addiction, sacrifices must be made and sheer amount of patience must be exercised by the person. Not to mention, an active participation of their peers and friends may significantly help and speeding up the process of curing it.

how many times have you intended to stop gambling

Every time I lose I think I should stop gambling. Whenever a person loses in a game of gambling, it is evident in his mind that he will stop gambling. I myself am not addicted to this kind of gambling, but I have indulged in gambling once or twice in my life. Gambling is one of those addictions where one cannot recover from the addiction once he gets into it. I have seen people addicted to this drug never progress in life. They are making a living very hard. Gambling addicts around us lead very bad lives. So I would like to say that you should never take gambling as a serious addiction. Just take it as fun.

Once and I've succeeded at that. One time in my life I've gambled away more that I could lose. It was early on when I had some spare money because bitcoin was pumping. It was in 2016 or early 2017. If I held on to that money instead of gambling with it I'd be able to gain at least x6 by the end of 2017. That's when I turned my habit into casual gambling and I've never lost big since that day.
I have everything under control now. No dicing, no big deposits, casual sports gambling not more than once a month.

To someone who has been making a good profit from gambling, gambling is always a cool business but to others who have encountered multiple losses in gambling, they only get stocked with the addition hoping that they can get lucky and they will win big that day. Back to the topic and using myself as an example, the only time I tried to stop gambling was when I lost in a soccer bet I was hoping to win big due to the high amount I staked but I find myself gambling because that is the only way I can win back my money so I can only think of quitting gambling when I lose in my bet.

Addicted gamblers can not stop gambling because gambling is just like inbuild in them. So for them to go away with gambling is a thug of war in their life just like smokers. They can't leave it. The real gamblers use the loss games to predict the future games in a tactical way. Gamblers are liable to loss all coin but they won't heard. Because it entered into their blood.

They can stop but momentarily or on the time that they dont have money to spend on with their gambling addiction. On the time that they had replenish out their wallets or pockets then they would be playing once again. We do know that addicted gamblers are those people who cant just resist on playing gambling as long they do have the funds. They would be definitely doing as much as they can
and as long they do have the money. In my case, i could easily stop mid way if ever my mind telling me on doing so.

Total stop I never have but reduce or stop playing a game to go a different direction, I have many times.  Mostly boredom determines whether I bet or not, if its not interesting dont kid yourself about making money on it.  The money part is the bonus,  I only intend to play things I feel some interest in and typically I get bored after some period so stopping isnt the problem its finding something I like more :)

Gambling was never a problem for me. I rarely gamble. But yeah, I have seen people to stop gambling, but they end gambling again after few days or weeks. Those are the kind of people that are addicted to gambling and in the long causes themselves irreversible financial damage. It's like people trying to quit drinking or smoking. They do stop for few days and then once again is back to drinking and smoking and doing drugs. The only way these people can get out the addiction and stop gambling is getting professional help. They need to talk to someone and take their to recover from gambling addiction.

Gambling addiction is a serious issue. Even if we are not gambling addicts but we are in gambling activities, we are also too difficult to stop gambling, even if tried several times, gambling will be much more interesting and attract us to join again. Moreover, people who are addicted to gambling, this is a serious issue that sometimes they are driven to all in until they have nothing, get big loans, and do crimes. Although not all addicted people to gambling do these, some of them are doing so. This will depend on the personality, but with the fact, it is really clear that gambling addiction without any good management and treatment will always be worse day to day. For me and for several people, maybe we need not only once or twice to stop gambling, but we will also need several times because there are desires, big eager to always do gambling moreover it's really enticing. many people will have high expectations to earn money and have much money from gambling so that they try and try again. But in fact, gambling is not kind of worth moreover without any good knowledge, moreover in slots.

Thinking to quit will always came up to us when we are losing to much money on the game and decisions like that always made when we are dismayed or even pissed off to consecutive losses we encounter and to avoid this to happen maybe we should start to not expect anything about it just have fun then always use the money we can afford to lose since. For sure once we came out not expecting anything we can enjoy gambling and eliminate those any regrets that came out after we play the game.

Gambling is an addiction and anyone who's caught in this addiction will alway submit to the urge to gamble whenever it comes. It doesn't matter if you want to stop or not. Infact in most cases, whenever you want to stop that's when the urge to gamble increases. Gambling addiction has to be treated as a drug addiction and the withdrawal method should be used for anyone with this problem.

I have seen people struggle to quick gambling to no avail, while others who has quit for sometime quickly become an addict Immediately they run out of money. One reason people fall back to gambling after quitting is because they didn't replace their gambling addiction with another activity that'll take their mind off gambling.

This is called consoling yourself. We can use the statement we need to use gambling for fun or as an entertainment same as that we spend on a movie or outing. In reality it is really hard for a layman, maybe the rich is able to allocate and do things in an organised without being hurt. According to me, even if we play for fun it hurts when we're on the losing streak.

Since I am not an addict, I can decided to stop gambling anytime I like. That would not be a problem for me and for a while now u have not bet get some odds to bet on because I can easily control my feeling and urge to gamble. Gambling should not be something that will reap us of our decision. It shouldn't make us to do what we don't intend to do.
We need to have self control and be able to make proper decision at any time of our life. Gambling is good but not able to control ourselves is bad

There are several types of addictions, some that are really bad for our health and others that can even do good if they are well "managed".

Illicit drugs and cigarettes are examples of addictions that are harmful and need to be completely stopped.
Gambling, on the other hand, can be good for our mental health if managed prudently, and I think it shouldn't be completely eliminated from an addict's life because it could bring about a lot more "relapses".

It is better for the person to educate himself, to set limits on time and money spent, so that "abstention" is not his worst enemy.

It depends on what the initial goal is when you want to do gambling. If only as entertainment, anyone can do it without getting hurt when experiencing fatigue. What is important is that the allocation of funds is clear and not too large just for gambling and will not increase the allocation anymore.

Gambling that is only done for entertainment will not be done too often, maybe only a few times or when entertainment is needed. If done frequently it is the same as an addiction to gambling but camouflaged with reasons for entertainment.

When you are addicted, it will be difficult to stop gambling. so you need a strong desire to be able to stop and have alternative activities so you can be free from any gambling activity.

Quitting gambling may not be easy, but with the right commitment and support, you can overcome this problem and start a healthier and happier life.

It is important to be very careful when it comes to our gambling, if someone makes the decision to stop and they fail this could create in them the idea that they cannot stop gambling no matter how hard to try, and this is a very dangerous belief as if they develop a gambling problem then it will be very difficult to overcome it, it is better to set very strict limits regarding the amount of money we will use when we gamble, that way if we respect those limits then there is no need to ever think about stopping as everything is under our control.

I guess that’s the spirit of gambling to keep our excitement and stay enthusiastic despite of the losses we endure at the end of the day. That’s the reason why gambling should be a good source of entertainment rather than to see it as another source of income. And yes, I have promised a lot of times to finally quit from gambling but look at me now, still gambling with the amount I can afford to lose. And for me that’s never an issue, as long as I’m still responsible of my losses and I still manage myself not to fall for deep addiction in gambling.

A new gambler has to be careful about several things in the beginning of gambling. The most important of them is addiction. This is a common problem but how to control it, a gambler should learn it. Responsible gambling is definitely enjoyable. Newbies who join this platform usually manage to bet too much in the beginning and gradually this behavior drives them in the negative direction. However, in recent times proper guidance on how a gambler can get started on gambling platforms is very easy to find. Gaining enough knowledge by researching it makes it easy to manage responsible gambling.

almost every time I lose I always want to stop but to be honest the more I want to stop gambling the more difficult it will be so let's just say playing gambling is for fun at least when losing doesn't hurt too much
The feeling that you feel is almost always experienced by other players, always wanting to stop under any circumstances, be it when you lose or when you win, but indeed gambling is an activity that is always tempting, especially if the player always focuses on the results that can be obtained and chases wins and also always there are funds available to be used, but we should be able to control not only because of the funds but also when we are unable to control ourselves it can affect other activities that must be carried out because we just always want to play

how many times have you intended to stop gambling?

Seen a lot of topic similar to this. Well, if you're not doing something to keep yourself away from gambling, then I guess you're not actually trying or have some intentions to truthfully stop gambling. Most of the time, 95%, you can't do it on your own. The more you resist, the more tempting it gets to keep betting. So, it doesn't really make sense holding yourself back from gambling, when you're actually craving for it, unless your super serious in total putting a stop into your gambling habits, then you should enroll yourself into some activities, like going to gym, that's keeping you busy during your free time.

You've just been carried away by your emotions, which is why you keep saying you'll quit. I think all of us shouldn't gamble when we are very emotional, as sometimes our decisions are not good and we get easily irritated. There is nothing wrong with it as long as you still have control over yourself, like not going over your budget when gambling. Saying it is just the way we express our feelings, and it can ease our feelings, which is why we say it.

Never. I mean I was never addicted to gambling in the first place so stopping myself was never an issue. It is all about your self control. The moment you lose that you can become addicted to anything. Alcohol, smoking, drugs, gambling, computer games... Any of those bad habits can hurt you financially if you are not careful with what you are doing. I still gamble but I never ever risk big money. It is because if I lose that money that would make me very upset. I would rather use that money to invest in something which is far more productive thing to do.

After I took control of my gambling addiction, I had imbibed the culture of gambling occasionally that is when the opportunity avail, thus there isn't any reason to completely stop gambling because my area of interest in gambling is soccer thus I bet on few matches with a reasonable odds while staking with small fund i.e money I can afford to lose having known the implications of gambling addiction, when you know what you are going as a gambler whether win or lose I move on and I always tried to be profitable in a long run bearing in mind that losses is inevitable.

many gamblers have a hard time getting out of their addiction. even spending more on assets owned than what they produce.
that is a bad example, and you are an example that has gotten better at managing your interest in gambling. self control will be very important for gamblers. play consciously and not out of control. now everything is very accessible. with money in hand and online tools, everything can be gone in a matter of hours.

   -     Traditional gambling, I have tried to stop several times, but there are still times when I still end up gambling, such as during the carnivals here when there is a fiesta in the area.

Then when I stopped playing traditional gambling, I discovered this crypto gambling became more and more hassle-free for me and I liked it too, although I'm not addicted to it I only play once but in the end, I still gamble even if only rarely too.

You need to be addicted to something in a way before you can consider stopping it. But if it isn't a problem to you then I see no reason to stop. So for me I haven't tried to stop gambling because I don't see it as an addiction I rarely even gamble nowadays at most I gamble two to three times in a week and sometimes I even go a while week without even opening any casino site.

But for those that are addicted to gambling it's a very difficult habit to stop, I have seen and heard so many stories of people trying to stop gambling and some of them have successfully stopped while the rest couldn't stop gambling.

That's just how most people when they start to play gambling, they first tried it in some event like that where they find some entertainment doing it and they are looking for more whenever that event is already done. Sadly they became addicted after that and they find it normal until they can no longer stop themselves. Most of the time you cannot stop it when you have some friends who keep dragging you to play or the place of gamble is near your home or something like that.

That is the sad thing right there and it's much easier to say things than doing it as personally, I had the same experience way back almost a decade ago. I used to do almost every sorts of gambling and haven't reflected on myself much earlier that's why I haven't notice that I was already too deep than what I expected because consciously, everything is normal to me but in reality, it isn't.

Just don't give up mate, there's still a light at the end of a tunnel. We all have our downside and it's much better to seek help to help us save ourselves.

Yes, you can avoid but you'll still go back at a point of time that you can no longer control yourself. There's the itch that no one can stop it and as for someone's experience, you'll get to that point where you give up your control and you'll just proceed because you want to gamble.

Yeah, we hear it a lot of time that it's just good for entertainment and not a source of income. And whichever is the reason from the two when someone who's able to quit and then played again, it's their decision to gamble for fun or for that disagreed reason by many which is doing it for the money.

Well, even if you don't come to that point of your life that you're addicted. As long as you're seeing that it's no longer that normal for you and you're doing too much then you have to decide of stopping it.

Those that can't see it as a problem, that means they're in full control and no need for them to worry about such.

Although we have to admit that we told ourselves gazillion times that we'll stop but we just can't.

In my case, I don't have friends who keep on dragging me into gambling, and yet even without them, I still played at land base casinos from time to time or even crypto based casinos.

But I still not considered myself addicted now, I have learn to control myself. Although it took me years or decades to finally quit my gambling addiction. And it take some bad things to happen to me before I decided to stop for good. But still though, now I played as I have said, but it's not the same as before. I have total control of myself.

I thought I had stopped gambling before. As I said, I realized that this was just my opinion. Gambling is like an obligatory habit. You can't stop drinking water! I can summarize it exactly this way. I've thought many times about stopping gambling, I can't express it in numbers. But I don't think about it anymore, I don't have such a goal.
My advice; Keep playing and enjoying.
Our opinion matters the most because it's our life that we are talking about here and not someone else. It's not just your opinion but you actually did try to stop gambling there, it's just that it was natural for us humans to be tempted and to build the same urge after some time.

You shouldn't be guilty or feel bad about yourself because of that since many of us can also relate on the same scenario and we just accept the fact that we can not change anymore but at least we have much control now than compared to before. That is the only solution that you can there. It's only wrong to compare gambling with water. Water is essential in our body but gambling isn't.

This was the most painful time to stop gambling and that is when we are losing big time. It's like accepting our defeat. Accepting the fact that we can not recover our past losses but the feeling is great if one will stop gambling after winning big time. When I mean stop is when they don't play gambling anymore not even once because there is a tendency that they will become an addict because they already win big before. It was still great if you change before it's too late.

I can feel that you are more happier now but who wouldn't be? When you are profiting and at the same time enjoying the game. Sports betting is truly profitable if one will dedicate time to research and analyse plus it's also less addicting because the games won't just processed instantly.

Gambling responsibly is what we need to priority and for that we cannot be called addicted on playing gambling games if we know for ourselves that we are still in control and we can control our finances used upon playing on casinos. But before we go to this stage for sure we also expect to win big and somehow get addicted but luckily some people realize that its not good over extend our expectation since this is how addiction starts. I always think about this way that's why I'm also in control and not addicted with casino games which I continue playing on controlled manner.

To me I dont think someone can stop gambling easily, because most people doesn't see gambling as fun they see it as part of hustling and they don't know gambling is a total waist of time.
Seriously I don't know if you can explain better, what do you mean gambling is waste of time? I know it's totally wrong to take gambling as a source of income because that's when addiction always comes in, if you think you can make money from gambling, gradually you will be addicted to gamble because you will always believe you will later win back all the money you have lost if you keep on gambling. But I don't see gambling as waste of time, but I don't know if you can explain better why you think gambling is waste of time.
I was once a gambler but letter I realized gambling is not for me so I quit,
When you started gambling maybe you were expecting money and when you noticed you were losing then you decided to quit. Am not addicted to gambling and am not expecting to win huge amount from gambling, so I don't care if I win or lose, I only gamble with just little amount of money, i just gamble to entertain myself. You were expecting money but you ended up losing that was why you think gambling is not for you.

Ofcourse we have heard this phrase as it is very common in the gambling industry.
Its almost similar to people trying to quit smoking. Every other day they say its the last time they are smoking a cigarette and yet again they smoke after a few days.
Quitting gambling is equally tough because it releases dopamine which makes us feel excited when we are gambling.
This increases our addiction to gambling and makes it tough for us to quit. This is why we see many people who try to quit gambling.

The intention to stop gambling certainly always crosses everyone's mind. It's just that it can't be done in a nutshell. Once again I say that maybe stopping gambling is not a solution, but if we divert or change the perspective of gambling as just a game then the risk of addiction will not be too bad. Most of those who are addicted clearly cannot bring themselves to stop no matter how strong the result is nil.

Personally, even though I have been gambling for years, it feels like I can still control what I want. For example, whether there is money or not, I still have no guilt if I don't gamble. The key to it all is self-awareness and always thinking of everything as mere entertainment. Take control of gambling and you don't have to force yourself to stop.

Whether you think of gambling as a simple game or as a way to make money, if you gamble regularly, you will surely become a major addict. And on the other hand I agree with you that stopping gambling may not be a big solution.  But gambling should be used sparingly and always keep confidence in yourself that you will never become addicted to gambling anyway. This may be the only way to get rid of it

But most people find it difficult to stop when they lose and instead try to recover their losses by continuing to play. But if the person later realizes what he is doing is wrong and can stop immediately, that is good for him because he can prevent more losses. Yes, we should be able to gamble moderately and not excessively because we also don't have a big chance of winning. And we must know our abilities when playing gambling and enjoy gambling more with little money.

The thing is...

Casinos does not make it easy for people to stop gambling, even if you enabled "self exclusion" ... because some casinos still send out promotions and advertisements to people that self excluded.

So, even if you manage to get that stopped... you still get bombarded by gambling advertisements on TV and also on social media. Once you gambled before, social media algorithms pick up on that ..and they send you gambling related content or adverts.. and then you are fcked again.

So it is up to you to control your urge...

usually when a gambler stops gambling when he is completely out of money and valuables, and when he has more money he will go gambling again, it has become commonplace for all gamblers.
but what becomes a problem if the gambler is already a bad gambling addict. I mean, if a gambler who is really addicted to gambling even though he has run out of money and all his valuables, he is always looking for ways to still be able to gamble. even if he has to steal or rob the important thing he can do gambling. well this crazy gambling addiction is the worst phrase to avoid. because gambling addiction like that will be difficult to cure.

Not that much. I only stopped playing when I started watching streamers like Roshtein, Train, DeuceAce, etc on Twitch. Before, if I have money I will keep playing regardless of how much time I consume. Times that I want to stop gambling is right after a depleted bankroll.
These days, I'm glad that I can better accept losing, unlike before.

I think once or twice? I mean not a lot that's for sure. It was very very early on my first times gambling where I learned how you could lose a lot and lose very quickly, it was a dark period for me and it was definitely not nice and it ended up hurting me financially, but that was like first month or two. After that I stopped, but then I hate when something beats me, not just in the sense that I lost money, but psychologically, I didn't want to become a person who "had to stop because of addiction", and decided to both gamble and also have it under control at the same time.

Just to show myself that I had the will power to gamble with a limit and not go over it, which I succeeded and never lost much ever again. I also stopped once more for no reason, I had life stuff I had to take care of so couldn't play for months, not because I didn't want to or anything but I just had zero free time to gamble.

many gamblers have a hard time getting out of their addiction. even spending more on assets owned than what they produce.
that is a bad example, and you are an example that has gotten better at managing your interest in gambling. self control will be very important for gamblers. play consciously and not out of control. now everything is very accessible. with money in hand and online tools, everything can be gone in a matter of hours.

At least, someone needs a long process if they want to get out of their addiction. and as you said, many gamblers have a hard time getting out of their addiction. the problem is, some are aware that they have an addiction. in fact, many gamblers are not even aware that they are addicted. there are those who try to quit, there are also many gamblers who cannot resist the strong urge to fulfill their gambling desires. and this can happen to anyone, indiscriminately. like me for example, being one example who has experienced difficult times to get rid of addiction.

But the essence, not on the problem of how to stop. because throughout my experience it is very difficult to do. at least, I have processed and gone through various things until I found the answer for myself. Until this moment, I still gamble. whether it's betting on sports, slots, dice, or other types of gambling. however, at least now I'm more mature to react to it. with good understanding, as well as responsibility, we will automatically have self-control. that way, make gambling as fun entertainment without harming other people, especially yourself.

You have tried to avoid gambling addiction even though stopping addiction is not as easy as turning the palm of the hand, but at least you have control over the decisions in each gambling and the first attempt to push can limit the balance used for gambling. I think the main factor in avoiding gambling is having the intention to get out of gambling addiction and wisely deciding not to continue gambling when the loss reaches the gambling balance limit,

Two things that are important in gambling is to accept profit or loss. Some gamblers do not want to accept winning or loss, that is why you will see some people that will lose and keep on gambling and lose more until they do not have money again to gamble. But that is not all, so are also some people that win but they are not satisfied until they win more, but instead they may begin to lose the amount of money they won and they may lose more. If you win, best to stop gambling for that day. If you lose, best to stop gambling for that day. Gambling is fun, but we should also think of the winning and the losing aspect.

This means you are doing bad with yourself by playing unlimited gambling and stopping only when you have lost all your money. In this case, even if you make money, you will just keep on playing to lose in the end. I don't think this is a good strategy unless and until you have a lot of money and losing it does not make any difference to your life.

For many people like me, its a nightmare to lose in gambling and we try our best that our loss is minimum. Also if we win any amount in gambling, the first priority is to stop gambling and save the profits.

It's a nightmare if we can't afford to lose that money, nevertheless I will agree though, I have played with money that I can lose, but at the end of the day, I hate that feeling when you go home from a land base casinos and lost your money.

So majority of us may have thinking of kicking this bad habit. But it's really hard specially if you have the means to play again and again. As for watching streamers? not my type though, I guess I have been in gambling way before this streamers existed.

But for those that are addicted to gambling it's a very difficult habit to stop, I have seen and heard so many stories of people trying to stop gambling and some of them have successfully stopped while the rest couldn't stop gambling.

There's nothing too difficult that can't be resolved in the world, For the fact that we have people who has stopped gambling even though they were addicted then I see no reason why others can't follow the same footsteps and get their addiction under control. What matters most is the willingness and determination by the gamblers to quit. Some addicts aren't ready yet but been forced by either their family members or the society.

In this type of situation, the exercise won't be successful with them because they aren't doing this with willingness but been forced but you see those who have made up their mind to quit gambling themselves or let go of the addiction, everything will just flow and it'll look very easy to record success with them.

As ridiculous as it may sound, I tend to experience this, especially when I suffer losses that I wasn't prepared for. Gambling is intended to be enjoyable, I know, but there may be emotional harm when you lose some games, such as those you were so confident in but lost in the end.

We all know how difficult it is to predict football games to draw, so I had 6 games selected. Of those, 5 ended in draws with no goals scored, and the sixth game was going smoothly until the final minutes (about 87 minutes after a substitution) when this s*lly guy came off the bench and scored a goal. I was outraged because the odds were high, and I was expecting free weekend money only for that player to spoil my tickets and change my mood, but the funniest thing is that I have opened more than 3 bets after that, I find it fun to play when I am bored that's why I keep coming back to play.

For me, I've never tried to stop gambling, and I've never gambled out of my will as well, I am not addicted to gambling in any way, I have the power to stop and power to continue gambling just any time I feel like, gambling is always fun for me, but I cant help but state that there are times we allow our emotion drive us, and this is how most of us end up making really stupid mistakes that some times, lead to loss of money.

Only a person with gambling addiction would struggle to stop gambling, for those who are not addicted, its very easy to stop if you have want,.

When you arent that addicted then there's no need for you to stop because gambling is never been bad, it just turns out to be bad on the time that you do make out some intentions to it on making money because it
does really create that kind of motive in mind that you should push further on playing for you to make money. You cant really just make things possible on whats up into your mind because thats no how gambling works.
Chances of winning could really be determined with luck which is really that normal and this is why you shouldnt really make yourself desperate.Having a control towards your gambling activity or deal up
is crucial because if you arent really that good with this then you do know on whats next.

You need to have the intention to get out of gambling if you don't want to be addicted to it. People intend to stop because they see how it's not suiting their lives.

Only a person with gambling addiction would struggle to stop gambling, for those who are not addicted, its very easy to stop if you have want,.
But even if the person isn't addicted, there come the stage that sometimes they'll feel that they should stop because of the feeling that it gives them.

It has been integrated into my gambling discipline. Everytime I feel like I have lost enough for the day, A thought at the back of my head will remind me I should take a breather and I listen to that voice because it knows better than I do that I need to take a step back and maybe control myself. The key to becoming a healthy gambler isn't knowing when to stop or when not to, because let's face it sometimes we're just on a streak of losses or of victories and we don't wanna be interrupted, but what sets a good gambler and a gambler that is likely to be addicted later down the line for me is how they respond when they finally get the urge to stop gambling and rest. A good gambler will listen to that, maybe even reflect upon the actions he committed prior to stopping. A bad gambler will not stop even if his life depended on it.

I've personally tried, and succeeded at, quitting certain types of gambling - namely horse racing after my first experience with them went down very badly after swapping from football. I've also kept away from poker because while it seems fun at first, you can win when you're super concentrated, it can quickly turn into a grind and the focus is quickly lost after a few days, although it's clear that a small group of people are able to make a decent profit from it. Besides that, I think since it's only placing very small value bets that it would be easy to walk away from betting altogether but I can see how a lot of people might feel trapped if they've poured so much in and they wrongly chase their losses.

Saw some of their videos as well and realized the same thing, that chasing your losses is not a good idea at all. I stopped gambling when financial problems hit me before and that is the start of my realization. Now, I’m an occasional gambler and can control myself now from the addiction before, there’s always a second chance with gambling, you just need to be more responsible next time and avoid the same mistakes, being greedy is not good at all.

There must be people who only gambles for fun. They can use gambling as one of the ways to relieve their stress and not expecting something big like doubling or tripling their money so there is no way that they will stop gambling. For those who thinks has a problem with it already, how can they stop it if they won't act?

I think the reason why it's hard is because they are afraid of letting it go but if they will find alternatives and learn to appreciate it, then it it's always possible to quit gambling for good. You are gambling for years so you already have woken up from the truth that you can't make unlimited amounts in gambling but those who are just getting started are the ones who still got screwed with it.

These things could be avoided even on midway on which you should realize that gambling wasnt been created on making yourself rich or make money.Doesnt really need to you to suffer or experience financial problems
first before you could stop but this is the most common scenario on which people do only learnt up on the time that they had been hit up some financial problems which it do made them realize.
Gambling is really should for fun but there are people or most people do really go into a certain extent on which they do end up on being that addicted and resulting
into a disaster before they do literally stop.

Gambling has become part and parcel of some gamblers, they can't stay without gambling in a day. As for me I play once a day or twice highest and I have been trying not removed it from my heart because gambling is from the heart and once you remove ur mind from it you have over come but to remove it from the mind is the issue many are facing till date. But it is a gradual process to stop and you can't just stop it at once. It might take days, weeks, months or even years and if the person is ready to stop.

And most people can't stop it because there is no any other jobs for them to do to feed themselves or their families. So they use gambling to pay their bills so if you tell them to stop gambling then you should be prepared to provide jobs for them or be fully ready to attacked. Because according to a day, hunger man is always an angry man

They have to start thinking about doing something else so they don't think about gambling when they have nothing to do. That way, their thoughts will not only be about gambling but about what they are doing then, which can help them to try to distance themselves from gambling. But this is not easy to do for people who have often played gambling. It needs intention and seriousness to keep their minds off gambling, only with the intention that they can reduce their gambling time and even leave gambling forever.

I was almost driven crazy by gambling until I sold the things I owned to play gambling so I thought gambling addiction was more dangerous than drinking liquor and methamphetamine and even I saw my friend who had sold his house certificate to play gambling and for the victory that he seeks in gambling.

The defeat that we get and the ambition to win in gambling will change all the logic that we build at the beginning before gambling.

Budget planning can be an effective strategy for controlling gambling. However, the daily or weekly budget should be very flexible.  So that the budget does not allow too many single bets per day and too much time to be spent on gambling.  Then gambling cannot make us addicted to its deep addiction. And only then it is possible to control yourself in gambling.  If not, we can get stuck in the deep addiction of gambling at any time. And then it will be almost impossible to quit gambling

My answer to your topic title question is that I have never felt the need to stop gambling. Because I'm not that much a hardcore gambler, and besides, most of my gambling at the moment is focused on sports, and for that I have to a monthly percentage and  that doesn't affect me to lead a normal life if I lose.
I think if you can limit profits and keep yourself in control without getting too greedy then you don't have to worry about stopping gambling.

You are kinda right. Once a person starts to gamble his habits start fo change.
The more he plays the more he gets addicted to gambling. This is where many tend to fail to keep themselves within the limit.
If a person sticks to his limits then he wont ever face the problem of gambling addiction and it would be easier for him to control his gambling habits.

That's where the discipline will enter. Some people plays frequent but has their own self limit and they are not addicted. Frequent in a way that they goes to casinos maybe twice a month or thrice not every night. Casinos are created to entertain people, not to do harm to each and anyone else. We cannot blame casinos for that thing but we should check ourselves if we are already beyond our limits, we should stop if that thing happens.

I don’t know anymore how many times I’ve told myself to leave gambling because it’s always a loss for me, but until now I am still into gambling. Maybe there’s a different excitement when we trade because even if we gamble mostly for losses, but we never really become hopeless that one day I will be extra lucky and finally win a huge profits. But actually, I’m only gambling with my spare money, so that’s maybe the reason why I never get tired gambling.

I think I haven't tried tbh. Being bored in gambling comes naturally to me, and I don't have to force myself to not play for a long period of time because I myself lose interest in gambling for a number of times now. Also, I don't see any problem in my gambling habits and the money that I spend; it hasn't come to a point yet wherein it interferes with what I need to do. And to be honest, the last time that I bet on something is almost 2 weeks ago in Esports and since then, I haven't bet on anything not even dice. I'm in the clear and I believe that I will stay this way for quite a while.

Well, if this is your attitude towards gambling, I guess even if you keep on losing your money, that won’t be a problem because you are just gambling for fun, and not to gain serious amount of money. But honestly, even if I’m aware that the odds are against me, I’m still gambling for profits, not just for fun alone. The reason why I keep trying my luck especially in lottery, because once you end up hitting the lucky numbers, that will eventually change your life as the jackpot prize amount is certainly huge.

You will only decide to stop gambling if it’s making your life unhealthy because of huge losses you keep on enduring from gambling. But when you start winning again and slowly recovering your losses, your decision has shifted again and instead of quitting gambling, you will just continue to gamble more hoping you can chase more profits instead. Yes, this is very common to gamblers out there, and even myself is not an exception.

I haven't had that experience personally, since I don't gamble but I know a friend that's been struggling his whole life to quit gambling... This dude's been useless and fraustrated several times for the same reasons, GAMBLING.
now, I see these keen enthusiasm in him when something pops up like an argument or trail to be able to decide who's gonna defeat against who, on a regular conversation or trust test. He normally ends up introducing an idea to wager on who would win ....lmao. The last occurrence was when wagered for as much 400k... This dude's been praying his whole life to be able to control himself and I guess, he's beginning to improve on 'em.

I gamble just for fun and with small amounts of money/crypto so gambling is not an issue for me. I can stop any time it's sort of a hobby for me not an addiction. I've also never considered stopping, because it's relaxing, it gives me adrenaline rush, it's great fun etc... Perhaps I'd change my mind if I had a real addiction (losing big amounts, selling my house, debt, family issues, divorce).

If you are not consistent in stopping gambling then you will try gambling again for low bets and if you get some wins from gambling games that you often played before, instead of stopping gambling it will actually support gambling addiction again. The effective way to stop gambling is very simple, never get too close to anything related to real gambling or online gambling, if you can do that for the next 1-2 months then you are out of gambling addiction.

But I want to ask if you're well aware that you have a higher chance of getting struck by lightning, or be hit by an asteroid directly than win the Lottery. If you're banking on the fact that you might win it someday just because some people did, you're going to end up dying trying to win than winning it. But whatever, to each their own I guess. As in the case with gambling for fun, for me you don't outright relinquish the fact that you may gain profits when you gamble, it's just that the mindset is not set with winning the games but rather having fun while you are playing, so when you lose games, it doesn't take as much mental stress, and when you do win, it's much easier to relish upon.

True. Gamblers who keep on complaining about their losses are also those gamblers who keep on saying that they will finally quit from gambling. But before they do it, they have to try one last gambling experience and if  they become lucky and win decent amount, then probably the decision to quit is now forgotten. I guess that’s applicable to all gamblers who are easily affected with their present experience in gambling, and once they overcome those losses, they will start gambling again with the hopes that they will not keep on losing their funds this time.

Then you should be into other things that might be taking up your time. There was a time I had nothing doing, I was surprised the way I was eaten up with so many gambling activities that almost ruinedy life. I had to take a new demension before it jeopardize my entire perspective.  Too much of gambling is not good that is why we just have to moderate the way we input our activities to gambling.
Most time it is all about self consciousness, ability to understand who you are and what you want by not over doing in an accessive way.

I've intended quieting gambling on several occasions but to no avail but one thing I'm extremely certain of is the fact that I'm not a gambling addict.
Addition especially in gambling is a very terrible issue that requires very serious mental and emotional attention from professionals and research has shown that it is one of the greatest additions aside of drugs.
Just as OP has said and I also agree that one of the reasons people gamble alot is trying to test all features of a casino and another greater reason for addition is when a player begins chasing after their losses as a result of using money he or she can't afford to lose.

Maybe your time to calm down hasn't worked because you haven't been preoccupied with other things outside of gambling. Try doing other things unrelated to gambling and see the results. I think it can work as long as you can have a variety of activities each day so that your minds will not think about gambling but about those activities. It is this mental problem that most often leads gamblers into an even bigger problem and they don't realize it. So maybe we have to change our mindset before we stop gambling.

Trying to test all the features that the casino has is fine as long as we can control ourselves so we don't get carried away by the pleasure we will get from gambling. This is why we must have good self-control when playing gambling, namely to keep ourselves from crossing the boundaries that we already have.

Maybe I should answer "TILL NOW"  because everytime I lose ? what I am saying is " I'll quit gambling" and tomorrow when there is a fund available? I gamble again lol.

well that is the common reason why most gamblers fell from bad living as they  have this addicted character.
try not to become one or else your life will be misery .

From my experience in playing gambling, I have tried several times to stop gambling, but it seems difficult for me, who is already addicted to gambling, to really stop.
I felt the unintended effect of losing most of what I had to gambling and I regret it a little.
Even though I have at least been able to get back what I have lost, there is still a feeling of regret in me because until now I still continue to play and bet.
But to be honest, I already have a little sense of self-control and control every game or bet I make so that I can minimize the number of losing a lot of money.
For now I only use 15% -20% of my income every month to gamble, so I have started not to lose much in gambling.

Yes, that's definitely the key. Admitting the mistake and having the intention to go out of the situation will be the first step towards recovery, it may not be easy to do and start but just trust process because eventually, you will realize someday that you're already far from getting that addiction again. And then, having the discipline to steer clear from the situation again is a must.

Only having intention and admitting we have made a mistake can stop us from gambling. And accompanied by increasing maturity, we can understand that everything requires responsibility, especially gambling, so we will not become addicted. And if we have experienced addiction before, with everyone's help, we can cure it properly and even leave gambling for good. It will be better if someone accompanies us while we are healing ourselves from gambling addiction and they continue to encourage us to let go and leave gambling.

When a gambler constantly loses in his gambling he suffers from depression. At that time sometimes he can express his frustration through these words. Another thing is that when a gambler regains consciousness after losing everything due to addiction, he can still use such words. However, people who use such words often become active again after taking a few days break from gambling. This is a common term and I think those who have been involved in gambling for a long time are very familiar with this words. But for those who really take gambling as fun or entertainment, normally the words loss and Stop are not heard.

commit to a budget plan for gambling, it is one way to control yourself away from gambling slowly. because if the gambler has limited the budget of funds used for gambling, he must really commit to the establishment and if that happens for a few months, I think it will work.
the most important thing is trying to respect the plan and yourself, that is the spirit to stay away from gambling properly and slowly you will definitely be able to really stay away from gambling.
And then it will be almost impossible to quit gambling
planning a budget for weekly gambling it would be much better. because if we learn to refrain from gambling for 6 days and 1 day to gamble, that's even better. so it won't drain a lot of money and time that is only used for gambling.
actually all the ways can be achieved by gamblers who really want to gamble. because if a gambler who has the intention to stop gambling usually has a great will and commitment to defend against himself not to enter into gambling again.

but also not all gamblers can achieve the goal of stopping gambling, especially addicts who are really crazy about gambling. it requires more extra assistance from some medication such as a psychologist to help provide motivation to stop gambling.

as long as you consistently set aside your funds for gambling every month, of course it will not make you lose in gambling because by being consistent like that you have managed to control yourself from more losses, play wisely  ;)

Gambling 2 days a week is not bad and a serious gambling addict will not attack. But if someone starts gambling 4-5 days a week or every day, then surely that gambler will get into a deep addiction. So making a weekly budget for gambling is very necessary and effective because if one spends his weekly budget in one day then he cannot gamble for the remaining six days thus he can control himself a lot from gambling. And if he uses the same budget seven days a week, he will not be able to gamble for a long time. It will also be easier to control himself from gambling.

I'm still lucky not to do that even though I can't stop gambling but at least the scale of my gambling can be reduced.
The defeat that we get and the ambition to win in gambling will change all the logic that we build at the beginning before gambling.
If a gambler realizes that he is becoming addicted, he must try to control it. The more time and money you spend in gambling, the more you lose and will try to recover. So keep it limited as much as you lose. Keep a certain amount of money in the budget and when it runs out, wait again until a certain time. If you can manage responsible gambling then you will not be addicted and if you are not addicted then managing gambling will not have any negative effects.

This is just part of my past, then I was very young. as far as I can remember, there were only a few fiat online casinos and one of the most popular was PokerStar, Sbobet. throughout my experience, to stop completely from activities that have become a habit is something that is very complicated and difficult to do, believe me. However you have the intention to quit, if it is not accompanied by strong determination and the desire to break free from addiction it will not work.

To be honest, I like the hobby of gambling. this makes me a little entertained in the middle of the saturation of the activities of the work routine.  but now it's different, as I get older, I have more responsibility, a good understanding of how I define gambling itself.  I still gamble, but not blindly. just being part of the fun of entertainment, with the money i had budgeted and could afford to lose.

When you are on the winning side temporarily then those losses that you do have earlier or the stress and anger you had felt out would be wiped away on an instant on which these current or recent wins would really be triggering you out once again to play even further or more and this is where a very common approach and reaction of someone who do deal up with gambling.

There's no stopping when you do still have balance into your account or you do have the money something to play which it would really be just a common behavior to have.
In my part, i could stop mid way no matter what since im not that addicted to it, always have the good control of your finances.

I have vowed to stop gambling at several occasions but all where to no avail and most times I laugh at myself when I get caught up but one thing I'm also sure of is the fact that I'm not a chronic gambler or an addict and I only use money I'm willing to lose which is my spare money for gambling, but the trust is that gambling is handled differently but different set of persons in different ways and to some persons, gambling is just for fun and for some other persons, gambling is a very serious business and at such treated with so much zeal and passion and every loss and profit to them matter.

If you can manage responsible gambling then you will not be addicted and if you are not addicted then managing gambling will not have any negative effects.

If you are already selling your house certificate in order to gamble, now, you already know what kind of gambler you are.
More than likely, you will end up in deep debt and the people you owed will be chasing you more often.
I think there are a lot of these gamblers that are under this circumstance, they should wake up before all his loved ones are gone from his life.
Lucky for those that can still manage their gambling activities and know their limits. Better contain yourself before you totally ruin your life.

For now I only use 15% -20% of my income every month to gamble, so I have started not to lose much in gambling.
as long as you consistently set aside your funds for gambling every month, of course it will not make you lose in gambling because by being consistent like that you have managed to control yourself from more losses, play wisely  ;)
^ As always they said, be a responsible gambler and play wisely.
But I don't think if your purpose is to have fun when you are gambling, there should be no massive loss on this. Controlling yourself from the urge of gambling is the biggest factor that you will need, there is no need to stop gambling if you can manage this properly. Even myself, how many times I tend to stop but cannot, the reason is probably that, while w are having fun, the chances of increasing your money is on gambling.

The problem is we keep increasing bet size to get more excitement, same level of excitement can't be equal on different bet sizes for many gamblers, we don't want to decrease bet size aka controlling bankroll since we play for fun. As it mentioned before, it is always best option to stop gambling when fun stops. I don't have gambling addiction problems so it is still my decision to keep depositing for getting more enjoyment, IMHO. Everyone has different limits and excitement levels.

Be careful, when you say you will do something and then you fail to fulfill it you can be creating in yourself some long term issues, it is better that when you say to yourself that you are not going to gamble anymore you set a limit on this, lets say a month, that way when you can keep yourself away from gambling for that long you will realize that it is not as hard as you though and in this way you can easily exercise even more control over yourself of when and when not to gamble.

I reckon that differs from the bankroll you initially have, plus the possible influence of maybe richer people and their positive results. I reckon it's also why gambling casinos have scoreboards so that people can induce other people to "believe" that more aggressive bets can result in more profits when in reality it's different from person to person. I myself have felt the thrill, but even then it's always adjusted to my level instead of adjusting to the level of others' bankroll.

I believe I am very in control of my habits so I have nothing to be afraid of, for now.
I only gamble in a very casual way, so it is nothing I do in an impulsive way and whenever I reach my loss threshold I give up and log out my account. I simply accept I do not have any luck left.

I believe it is better that way to me, since I like to save money as well.

If you can control gambling by your own strategy then it is good for you and you will get rid of deep gambling addiction. And if you can get rid of the deep addiction of gambling then you will be able to use it only as a place of entertainment and you will be able to use it as a golden place to relieve your tiredness and pain from time to time. I myself gamble but it is very limited and I keep a fixed budget for each week to enjoy enough entertainment but not to become deeply addicted.

I also have experienced this before and agree with you that it is difficult to quit the activities we are already involved in completely. Even now, I still can't quit gambling completely. But lucky that I can try to reduce the time I play gambling so it's not the same as in the past. I realized that gambling too much would only be bad for me and before it was too late, I had to be able to stop it. At the very least, reducing the time I play gambling if I still can't stop playing gambling.

Gambling can entertain us, especially when experiencing saturation with our daily activities. But we also must remember that playing gambling must be accompanied by properly limiting ourselves so that nothing bad will happen to us. And we also should not exceed the limit we set so we do not run out of money.

Yes, and I have done that in the last few weeks, maybe I can control myself so that I no longer lose large amounts of money, but to really stop gambling will be more difficult for me to do.
In fact I'm sure 95% of gamblers who are addicted will not be able to easily stop completely.
For me or some gamblers, gambling is considered entertainment and a place to seek pleasure and profit, so that we will always think about gambling and always want to play games or bets every day.
Hopefully the method that I do can be emulated by those who want to control themselves in gambling so they don't lose a lot of money when playing or betting.

I know how disapointing and irrating it is to come up short, and I've been there. I know what it's like to feel like the odds are stacked against you and desire nothing more than to try your luck at a casino. However, gamblers should keep in mind that they shoud never let their guard down. Feeling helpless is a signal that we need to take a step back and reevaluate our posision.

What you're saying about taking breaks from gambling is very important, and I aplaud you for bringing it up. It's easy to lose sight of long-term repercussions when you're immersed in the excitement of the present. A change of pace and some distraction might help us regain objectivity and persepctive before returning to our gaming.

But not all people are the same as us and can control our emotions; there are gamblers who have difficulty controlling their emotions, which results in addictions. That is why others tend to seek help or take some medicines just to make themselves calm. It is like us, we don't have anxiety, and others do, which they always advise them not to think of, but it is difficult. That is why there are experts on it to help them, but the problem is that a lot of addicted people won't do it because they don't recognize themselves as addicted to it.

Glad that you know how to control yourself,  you know when to gamble and when to stop if needed.
There are lots of gamblers who can't stop themselves whenever they are either winning or losing money. When they win, they will continue until they lose all of their money. When they lose, they will find a way to get some money and ending up losing more money most of the time.

As for me, I don't need to stop gambling because I can stop whenever I need to. I mean I'm not greedy enough to get my losses especially when I know that it's time to stop already. Winning in gambling for me isn't all about luck, but there's a bit of attitude that's needed in order for the gambler to win big time. It's useless if you're lucky, but you don't know when to stop (lack of self-control).

I wish gamblers will learn when to stop when needed.

Many times in the past but the more I wanted to stop the more I fall in love with gambling.

Actually, gambling is not bad, what's worse is when you become an indiscipline gambler, it's okay to make mistakes at the beginning but if we keep making the same mistakes over and over, then although gambling is fun, this is not for you because it's very risky for indiscipline gamblers.

A good example of indisciplined gamblers is those gamblers who went bankrupt, sell their properties, and end up living on the street. We don't want this to happen to us, so we have to gamble with caution as it's a risky kind of entertainment for some people.

These stories happen to people who not only gamble, but also run their own businesses. A wrong attitude to money or mistakes lead to the fact that a person loses absolutely everything. In my opinion, to prevent this from happening it is necessary to reduce risks in every possible way. I am not a professional in business management so I cannot help in this case but I know how to reduce risks in gambling which is to play gambling only with money which you do not feel sorry for, to limit yourself and not to try to win back your past losses.

When you consider how much money you have already lost to gambling, it is not as simple as that to quit gambling. I have a friend that is so addicted to gambling that you wonder if his life is dependent on it. He can't go a single week without gambling. When asked why his gambling addiction is like that. His answer will be he wants to recover all the money gambling has taken from him back. That's the only he can think of putting a stop to his gambling additions. Now knowing that the more he bets to win back, the harder for him to recover back

If gambling gets to a point that you have had enough of it and want to stop, then clearly there is a problem here... maybe gambling addiction or debt problems as a result of gambling !
But I believe the trick to not getting to this problem is developing self control over your gambling pleasures and not allowing greed to get to you and you should be safe. Let's have fun with gambling.

Everything's too much is bad and it doesn't matter whether you are dealing with gambling or any other things in life which does really need up that control to make things alright because having no control
would really lead you up into lots of mistakes which is something that you dont really want to happen.WHen dealing with gambling then you should really be aware about your finances.Dont make yourself
stop when you dont already have the money on your pocket.Make it sure that you are spending the amount which you can afford to lose and would be able to stop mid way if you wanted to.
In my case i hadnt been able to reach out into a point on which i do have that financial problem since i could stop mid way on the time that i do see that im losing that much.

They can only think of gambling from a place of entertainment. They don't even try to recover their lost money so they can truly enjoy gambling. Until a gambler is able to overcome their addiction, they cannot enjoy the excitement of gambling.

If someone wins, he might also think about stopping gambling. Take a big hit, win a lot of money and then quit. But if you lose, different thoughts can come through a player. They may want to stop, but others want to continue gambling in order to regain lost losses. That rarely goes well, of course. Quitting gambling is a good intention in itself, but often little comes of it. And if players then stop gambling, it will be for a fairly short period of time and after a while they will still gamble again, often with much larger amounts. We can all do the consequences and outcome.

I've never had such an issue that would make me wish I totally stop gambling, but I've had reasons to stop certain kinds of gambling. This is personal, and the ones I had stopped have been effectively stopped by me, so there are no issues in their regard. I am a careful person that sees gambling as a way of making some fun, and if a little money comes out of it, fine.

I will never be a desperado in that field. Such are the ones that will always be regretting and wish they leave gambling.

This is me. I don't gamble like my life depends on it. I stake low amount that don't affect me if I lose. I've gone on a gambling break once or twice but it wasn't because I was gambling too much or because I was getting addicted, maybe it was because I was too busy at that period and I didn't have time to predict games or place bet.
I know how dangerous it is to be addicted and I think you get addicted when you believe you are one step away from becoming a millionaire through gambling .

Experience is the best teacher but it's not the only teacher, I've seen what a gambling addiction does to people so it's best I don't experience it.

There is something that sounds harsh, but it is very accurate, a person learns more when they lose, I remember that in 2017 when I started learning about casinos, where I always played was at freebitco.in, and it was a great job for me to keep an eye on from the faucet, play a little and try to multiply the sats.

One occasion I managed to raise good money and I began to risk with the multiplier, I used all kinds of strategies, even the most daring ones, which was the martingale, but I lost control and lost absolutely everything, the truth is that I was bad for two days, I did not want to play more, but after thinking about it so much I realized that it was all my mistake for betting too much without control, and I started to change my strategy to play, but I did think at that moment about leaving the casino and never coming back.

Addiction and psychological help for it is something very important, because it gives people a chance to actually work on things that they can fix, and there is a tangible problem there. Psychological help without much concrete problem is hard to diagnose and fix, you can go to therapy for years and not really fix anything, but when you have something shining as much as gambling addiction, there are ways to stop that or at least road you can take, it is up to if you will take it or not.

I believe that we shouldn't be really shocked about the amount of people who fail to stop, or fail to get better but at least we know there is a path to be taken to get better.

If you are not addicted to gambling, then you will find it very easy to quit if you wan't to, but addicted gambler's always find it very difficult to quit, the most funniest part is that must addicted gamblers don't really believe they are addicted, whenever you tell them about their gambling addiction, they are always denying and they believe they can stop gambling whenever they want. Just few among them believe they are addicted and they are finding it very difficult to stop. If you want to start gambling, just gamble for fun, don't gamble because you want to make money from gambling, if you do that you will endup being addicted.

Bad thing or not, it depends on the perspective of how one defines it. and what makes gamblers worse is not because of problems because they are not disciplined. however, more on responsibility. if a gambler does not have a good understanding of gambling, then most of them will become part of the addict.

As we all agree, gambling is a part of pleasurable entertainment. but closely related to risk, and the effects of gambling itself. Gambling without good control can lead to addiction. also, potentially losing our valuable possessions. that is why it is very important for gamblers to have a good understanding of what gambling is, as well as the importance of being responsible. that way, we as gamblers will have pretty good control. also, to avoid the effects of addiction. and the most important thing to remember is, gamble with limits that we can afford to lose.

This job is usually done by the streamers who sponsored by casino. They stream and get monthly contract payment for reason to convince other gamblers who don't believe it is possible to win with chasing losses. If you have control over your casino aka fun time budget all good, otherwise, better to stop before going into debt. Just my 2 cents.

Streamers raise bets to intensify the emotion of the viewers.  Yeah it is mostly done by sponsored streamers but there are also regular gamblers that do this kind of strategy.  Those who uses Martingle Method also do this kind of approach.

I would agree that if playing in a casino makes us suffer too many financial losses, then we should try to control our bet size and if we can't then better to stop gambling indeed.  But the question is, would stopping or quitting gambling be that easy?  I bet not.  Many gamblers keep on coming back regardless if they wanted more winnings or to chase losses.

It's not easy to stop doing what you find so fun to do and something you know how to do best. Gambling is fun for many, while others only gamble to win. People who should consider stopping themselves from gambling are those who see it as an addiction to them. For those who understand better and have their own reasons for gambling, they don't plan to stop it. Like myself, I gamble for fun, and I gamble mostly when I am out with my two friends, who are also good at gambling. I don't have to stop myself from gambling because I only do it during my free time to enjoy the fun, and I don't usually have much free time.

Imagine when someone is working on a job and they see that the job is not paying enough money to foot their bills; they consider quitting. But when they are meeting their expectations with the pay they get on the job, they don't consider quitting.

That's just how it is for gambling. If you are only gambling to make money and perhaps you see yourself always losing money instead of winning big, the best thing is to try and quit, but if you have the aim of just gambling for fun and accepting the wins as a plus credit and perhaps you are not also addicted to doing so, there's no need to quit. just my opinion, though. I love gambling for the fun and the wins as well, but I don't really take winning too seriously.

That's the reality and there are really people who can't avoid that addiction.

But actually, addiction is just fine if these people are still responsible outside their gambling life. I mean, even though they are addicted to gambling, it's important that they still have proper and stable financial management and still do their obligations to pay their regular bills or provide support to their family.

Sometimes, addiction can even lead to a better responsible gambler as long as they are able to control it along the way.

I have no plan to stop my gambling activity because i'm just an occasional gambler. Hence, even often I lose when i'm playing it's not an issue because the money that I spent is the amount that I can afford to lose. Anyway I think a gambler who want to stop playing already but still can't refrain himself and always keep coming back to what he used to is likely suffering from gambling addiction. They will think of stopping because of losses but after quite some time, there they are again trying to gamble, not to entertain themselves but to recover what they lost hoping to win this time.

Well, if you're not serious to stop your gambling habit, chances are you'll return once you get over the loss you had from your previous gambling activity.

2 days even 1 day a week could still be a problem gambling habit if you spend more then you should for your own security and those who depend on you.
One guy I used to work with, really nice guy massive dude built like 6'5 Viking who handled all the largest parcels in the warehouse and would go hard drinking the second his pay check hit the bank.  He would spend his entire wages for that week in a day or so and then be stone cold broke for every other day, nothing left to travel to work or eat or smoke he'd run out of all cash and become a roaming monk in the district quite a character.   His parents who fed him made sure he gave them something so he didnt starve but that one day excess was a problem for him.
The main element there is drinking, he would gamble some while drunk but mostly I think it was living beyond any reasonable means way too much that was the problem.   Most sensible thing is split the cash up a bit, pay absolute essentials do the food shopping before the beer and gambling budgets as those are just play money; do that much and imo people dont or wont have much of a problem.

Just few among them believe they are addicted and they are finding it very difficult to stop. If you want to start gambling, just gamble for fun, don't gamble because you want to make money from gambling, if you do that you will endup being addicted.

Most people i know around always take gambling as a very serious issue and i have this particular friend that always complains to me how he has stopped gambling but from no where you still see him gambling again.     -   I may not be able to stop playing gambling from time to time. After all, I don't play gambling often because I only play it if I have extra money.  Maybe stopping gambling is only applicable if it is no longer good for a gambler and has a bad effect on his family and friends and works.

  -  You said it right, it's better to gamble when all you think about is to be happy, now if you win while doing it, it's just an addition to your entertainment, so, winning or losing is not a big deal to you as a player in a casino.

Gambling is such a habitual addiction that you cannot easily get out of the ring of gambling if you wish. Let me tell you, I involved myself with some gambling clubs in my country while studying in college. I had a hard time keeping myself away from these clubs, but I used to go to them occasionally when I was studying at university. Now I bet daily from three to four gambling and casino sites.  However, if you face big losses at times, stay away from those casinos and gambling sites.

What are the reasons for having to stay away from casinos/gambling sites where we experience big losses? because in my opinion all gamblers will experience defeat and the size is based on how long and how much money is used to gamble.
It's not easy to stop gambling especially if we are in a community like that and have to struggle to really stop even if only temporarily

I have been gambling for a long time now, from sports betting to casino games I like all types for games that are being played for money with the chance to make a big profit. Like with everything in life there are good and there are bad days, we can't all just be winners. After a bad evening where I lost a big hand I definitely ask myself if all the trouble is worth it and if it wouldn't it be better to take a break from gambling. That is a normal experience I would expect many other gamblers to have as well. But as soon as I spend a day away from the casinos I feel normal again and my brain tells me that it wasn't so bad and I should try again. When it comes to gambling we need to be honest to ourselves and not try to trick our thinking. At least in my experience are big losses not very common, the same goes for big wins. Most of the times after a gambling session I have a small loss or win. That is why I try not to be affected to much by these outlier events. It also helps to remind us that without a the chances of a big loss there wouldn't be the chance to reach a big win and get the jackpot.

Maybe it's because the temptation to return to gambling is so great that many people end up returning to gambling when they have decided not to play, even if they decide not to play for the week. But in reality, they return to the casino, depositing some money and gambling again.

If you play gambling just for fun, that is a good reason because you are not trying to chase victory after victory. And if we try to keep it that way, we can still enjoy gambling and have fun playing lots of gambling games.

The only way a person can really stop gambling is to loosing everything he has, or finding something else that will take his time. In all other cases he pauses his gambling addiction. So a person can only stop once, but pause multiple times.

I am not much of a gambler, but I usually make a pause in gambling when I lose quickly, or have lost more than a half of my balance. I think I can easily convert my gambling pause into a complete stop. If someone is really interested how many times I have paused gambling, then I would honestly say that I have did it once, when I have lost around $100 in a football bet.

I remember making the decision to stop gambling only when I lost large sums of money in gambling. As a person who gambles for pleasure in general, I think that I should very rarely stop gambling because of not playing because I do not feel sorry for the amounts I lose when I gamble for pleasure. Especially in the last two years, I don't remember ever having such a thought in the last two years due to the fact that I have gambled very rarely and with a low amount of money.
Also, since I haven't gambled for a long time, I don't have such a thought, and it is more tempting to gamble for pleasure only when I feel like it. However, I think that I will not give up gambling completely for the rest of my life and will continue to play for pleasure at certain intervals.

IMO, that's a wise decision. Not many of us can do that. If they lose $100, they will try getting it back in an instant to the extent that they will bet blindly on games they have no idea about. We will always have a chance to win it back but it should never be at a time when our mind is clouded by revenge or chasing the losses because in that state we are out of control.
Sports gamblers can do this especially if they are betting just to add flavor to the game.
They can try betting again for their favorite teams just when they have a game, occasional gamblers. I never intended to stop too but when I switched to sports gambling, I got it under control. Same as you, I can pause whenever I want unlike before at casino games. It's a nonstop losing streak.

You can determine your position but most gamblers cannot do this. Many times this can happen unknowingly to gamblers. But I myself involved in regular gambling. I was a bit addicted in the beginning of my gambling life but after realizing that I was able to gradually control my gambling activities from that position. However, some gamblers who are fully addicted and understand their situation sometimes want to stop gambling but then continue later.

planning a budget for weekly gambling it would be much better. because if we learn to refrain from gambling for 6 days and 1 day to gamble, that's even better. so it won't drain a lot of money and time that is only used for gambling.
actually all the ways can be achieved by gamblers who really want to gamble. because if a gambler who has the intention to stop gambling usually has a great will and commitment to defend against himself not to enter into gambling again.

but also not all gamblers can achieve the goal of stopping gambling, especially addicts who are really crazy about gambling. it requires more extra assistance from some medication such as a psychologist to help provide motivation to stop gambling.
It will also be easier to control himself from gambling.
well, from the first way, by having a budget for gambling and controlling yourself to gamble twice a week, and if that works, then the gambler must have another way to put more pressure on himself to stay away from gambling.
maybe the next way is like avoiding things related to gambling. this method is the most effective way when a gambler who can control himself to gamble 2x a week and apply the second method to really get away from gambling and stop gambling.

I can understand with what you say. at least, we have the same experience. because of that, we are even more aware so as not to get carried away in the pleasures of gambling which sometimes makes our control a little less. whether it's when we are lucky, or in a position to experience defeat. thanks to experience too, we will be more aware so as not to do excessive gambling activities. especially, when on a losing streak.

The key is, as you said. self-control is the most important part for us gamblers, to limit excessive activity. and you are able to control yourself not to insist on chasing losses, be it for the smallest amount of money, which in the end will most likely only make the situation worse.

I have many experience on chasing losses that result to a terrible loss especially on blackjack. I remember I have 400$ bank roll on my casino balance and just playing 0.5$ bet consistently then I hit a multiple lose streak that gives me 5$ lose at first since I’m just betting 0.5$ then I increase my bet to 10$ and soon until I bust my 400$ for a short period of chasing losses.

I have a good self control but sometimes I can’t handle the urge to recover my loss especially if I’m consistently getting a red streak.

chasing losses is actually common route of most players. of course, who would have want their bankroll gone and not recovered? but in my case, to control my situation with this dilemma. i set an amount that i can lose for certain session, sometimes i go beyond its limit, but not too much, but if i know, i can't recover such loss, i stop and accept such defeat. because i remind myself, if i will keep on playing, i have high possibility of losing what's left. i know it is hard to do because you will have a heavy heart signing out, but you need to be firm with your decision.

It is possible for a gambler to leave the casino or gambling platform that he has used and he has lost or lost so much money that he has to leave the casino with the aim or reason to be able to cool off from the defeat he has just experienced or to be able to stop playing for a while so no more money will be lost.
It is true what you said that every gambler must have experienced or will be able to experience the loss of large amounts of money because losing and losing money in gambling is a natural thing and will definitely be felt by anyone who gambles but losing large amounts of money can be anticipated with how to place a bet using a small amount of money, but I'm not sure that a gambler can do this, especially if he has a lot of money, it's definitely even more difficult to minimize the amount of the bet so he doesn't lose a large amount.

It depends on your own level of self control and your environment. If you cut yourself off from anything or any influence that brings you back to the establishment, your odds of quitting are higher. Online is a bit more difficult however you can still avoid it by gaining other focuses that bring a more positive outcome. You can also block the URLs in your host file so at least you have to go to this inconvenience to try and access those sites again.

Not all people would be having on the same level of control when it comes to decision making not only limited on gambling but also in other things as well. This is why we cant really be able to drawn up some

conclusions and could blame out that they arent good on controlling themselves. We cant blame them out but it is really just that mind boggling that its impossible that people wont be able to realize on what are the things that they are currently doing which if we do think up sensibly then we are just basically doing the wrong thing or approach.

When we do gamble then you should know on how to stop when you are gaining or also you do know how to stop when you are losing that much.

Denial is the first stage of addiction. Failure to acknowledge that you are already spending way too much time doing something that is obviously hurting you and everyone around you means that you no longer recognize its dangers, and you only come in and do it for the pleasure of it. This will rapidly develop into something more extreme without the addict realizing it, and this is also the best time to intervene with what they're doing. Perhaps a talk with what's happening would be nice, although of course it's not always that easy. But yeah, persistence is the key to getting them back to normalcy and (hopefully) dropping their addiction down the line.

One component of addiction is doing anything you can out of desperation. One of the most harrowingly difficult things to observe, especially when it comes to gambling, is addiction. When a person is heavily addicted to gambling, it is difficult to stop them because they will make sure to spend every last penny of their allowance on wagers. Addiction is a general condition. The majority of young people who gamble are left with no other means of support; instead, they choose to work every day to earn money to wager on games. Some of these people make good profits from gambling, but they have no control over how they spend their earnings.

I tried sometimes to stop gambling but when a habit is already formed, it is hard to stop. So, even if I tried to stop gambling over and over, after a few days or months, I will eventually fall back into it. The best I can do is put a limit on it and enjoy it as much as possible.

Whenever you are doing anything, always make sure you are having limit and always try your possible best not to exceed your limit always, whenever you notice that you are exceeding your limits, then you getting addicted to that particular thing already.
Sometimes, it is hard to track your limits when you are enjoying too much already. It is also best to control the urge and live a balanced life. If you feel already getting addicted, try something new that could take away the urge to gamble even just for a few days.

Honestly, it is not so easy to stop gambling specially when you are addicted to it and gamble excessively. I was think the other day that is it possible that i live without gambling, the answer was NO.

The only way one can stop the gamble is to find something which is equally entertaining as gambling and then we can divert our attention from gambling. Other than this, i don't see how one can stop gambling.

I am yet to experience withdrawal symptoms when I go days without gambling. I have observed myself, looking for signs of irritability, anxiety, or depression when not gambling, but haven't noticed any. Therefore, it is safe to say that until I have an experience with any of these emotions, that is the day I will quit gambling. However, since gambling is one of my favorite past times, I find myself going back to it even when I have drawn out my schedule to engage in my other outdoor activity, soccer. Maybe it is because of the stress involved in dressing up, or maybe I am just too lazy for it.

I think you are right, most people that are addicted don't believe they are addicted, not even in gambling, they will keep on saying they are not addicted, some might even quarrel with you if you keep on telling them that they are addicted.

It becomes part of their life, I assume.
It reminds me to an uncle I had that he smoked like two packages of cigarettes every day, I never heard anyone calling him out on that problem, because he did not see it as a problem. I guess it is similar to problem gambling.

Human psychology is truly interesting, if we realize who complex we all really are in comparison to animals and other living creatures.

It's good if you haven't experienced those symptoms and can prevent them from happening if you keep control.
The most important thing is how you can still control yourself when gambling so you don't lose a lot of money, which can trigger the signs you mentioned.
It's better to enjoy gambling as it is without looking for those signs because it will cause you to lose self-control.
If gambling is one of your favorite pasts, you have to be very careful because it can make you go back in time and be able to use up more money than before.

I think literally best thing to do is hanging out or doing another hobby if you are trying to quit gambling. Addictions always involve hormones in our body so many people can't fight against their own hormones. When they quit gambling they always experience those weird syndromes that lowers their life quality. In long run I think everyone will realize its better to stop gambling before you are having fun. Noone is gonna force you to stop anyways other than yourself. You can stop like a month and just comeback later to gamble in better mood.

We should get back to roots of addiction. Like you have said, body looks for hormones - hormone of happiness imo. I think we can trick our body and seek for such hormone somewhere else. Second reason of gambling addiction is greed. I think it can be beaten by finding additional or different source of income (job with bigger salary). Of course that wont help for 100%, but I am sure that it might help to make pauses between gambling sessions larger.

That is why it is said that those who can control gambling can completely escape its negative effects. They gambling also have relatively more winnings than an addicted gambler. They can only think of gambling from a place of entertainment. They don't even try to recover their lost money so they can truly enjoy gambling. Until a gambler is able to overcome their addiction, they cannot enjoy the excitement of gambling.
Yes, gambling addicts can only destroy people and bring nothing good. For this gambling is only a place of entertainment it is not a legitimate way of earning money. Anyone who thinks that it is possible to earn regular money from here falls into a deep addiction. A gambler who falls into a deep addiction never realizes that gambling is slowly killing him

I could relate to what you're goin through, cause I've had my doubts if I was addicted to gamblin too. I think finding new things to do and being with freinds can help with not gambling as much. But gambling addiction is no joke and can have a huge impact on ur life. If you or someone you know is showing signs, seek help from professionals asap. Just cus you stop gamblin doesn't mean you have to stop having fun. There's plenty of other fun things to do that don't have the same danger of addiction or bad outcomes. I'm rootin for ya as you work on getting healthy and happy again

It's really hard to break the cycle of a bad habit that has been established for a long time already. It will be challenging on your part as it is already a part of your routine and system, so even if you try to withdraw and lie low, eventually you'll crave for it and be back in no time. Breaking free to gambling requires professional help and intervention. It isn't an overnight process. It's progress is slow and fluctuating rather than smooth sailing. If you are able to limit yourself and not go back from your old gambling ways on your own, that's good to hear. But most of the time, people who suffer from severe addictions need proper treatment for them to recover and avoid relapse.

It's really hard to track your limits and abide by your set boundaries, but if you really aim to be treated, you have to help yourself as well. It's your responsibility after all to look after yourself for your betterment. Start small, and from there, build the discipline and shape your mindset to be healthy mentally.

But if we already have an additional source of income with a bigger salary and we are still gambling, it can cause us to gamble with more money because we see additional money in our wallet that we can use for gambling. But if we can decide that we really need to stop gambling, even if we can earn a bigger salary, we will really stop gambling and be able to walk away without any problems. Gambling addiction is indeed difficult to leave, but we can try to reduce gambling, both time and money, until we can really leave gambling.

Sometimes having another source of income stream can make us confident to gamble more because we think that we still have money to wait even if we lose. Having a lot of money can trigger some aggressive mindset but somehow it will be stop especially when people realize that they are losing to much money for continuous playing. This realization can make us decide to quit for a while and for sure we go to this process but we end up still gamble but in controlled manner that's why we are still here.
