Like the title expressed it all, I am wondering at what point should a gambler stops gambling?
Again, why do people keep trying luck even after knowing that the Next game still won't gonna give them winning they desired?

What do we really desire? We all have different reasons why we gamble. It's not just about winning but it's also about the entertainment that gambling provides. Its exactly why the gambling industry continues to grow and remain profitable because so many gamblers are willing to take risks and even lose money just for the thrill and fun of it. At the end of the day, it’s a form of entertainment,  and when you’re entertained, why would you stop?

We can compare it to questions like this:

If drinking and smoking are bad for our health, why don’t people quit?

When they have problem.

Neither family problem (parent/wife/child ask to stop gambling), productivity problem (can't focus, anger issue, keep complaining), financial problem (can't pay bills, in debt, drain all savings, asking a loan).

People keep trying their luck because they believe gambling is a source of income and they avoid the struggle in real life jobs.

Some people prefer to stop playing when they have exhausted their funds. It's to me not actually managing your risk. As a gambler you should recognise when you have made substantial amount of loss and consider quitting for the day and continue some other time. One other way I use to help me stop is to only deposit the amount I wish to play with on my gambling session. This way even if it gets exhausted without any win I won't be much bothered..

There are two important time that someone needs to stop gambling.

There are many different signs when a gambler should stop gambling because it is starting to interfere with his life, good relationships with loved ones and money management.
If I go into more detail about this topic, I want to say that the first sign of problem gambling is lying to family members, as well as excessive spending of money that was intended for basic needs. In my opinion, a gambler wouldnt really stop it. But if theres a goal then its possible. Some who gamble are definitely aiming to win some decent profit or let say life changing money, but these profits will be spent later om giving them an idea to play again, unless he/she got some business to focus on and leave fully the gambling environment. first= you're not happy while betting, or generally speaking this has a big impact on your mood.

second case= you're out of cash, or just you have used all amount that was initially ready to be used for gambling.

They will difficult to stop gambling even if they don't have any money. They will deposit more money and even they will taking from their saving. But if they realize that when their money runs out, that will the time for them to stop gambling.

It's simple. Hope of an eventual win is what keeps every gambler going back despite losses. No one will gamble if they're certain they would lose. None.

OP, there is no answer to your question. Age is just a number and as long as person is able to make a click, he can gamble. Money is important thing for gambling, but not everyone gamble to earn them. Think about billionaires and those who gamble for fun - there is no exact moment when they should stop gambling. Think about dopamine. People gamble to get it, its like food for them. That is why knowing that they going to lose next bet or lose again and again does not stop them.

A gambler should stop gambling after he has lost the amount of money he assigned to gamble for the day. This is why you must set aside an amount that you can let go, whenever you want to gamble.

I think the very obvious is that when we are affected financially, then we should stop gambling right away. These factors is I think the major reason on why gambler decide to stop gambling.

You don't need to stop gambling when you are still able to control yourself in gambling and be able to gamble responsibly so I don't think it stops gambling also not a problem for you, but if you feel you are bad in controlling yourself in gambling then you must stop gambling because it will be very dangerous for your welfare friend.

You don't need a specific time to stop doing anything; you see, all you need is the ability to accept the reality of whatever that is. Don't keep pushing if your strength/energy doesn't match up. In gambling, don't keep wagering if you aren't emotionally built up.. The fact that everything is wrong, but you keep consoling yourself with another bet, and yet another one and so on,.. Is all it takes to pull you down.

Nobody knows what the next game predicts, now here's the myth; you may stop trying and that's it, but a little more effort could fetch you something huge. Don't always forget to play by rules of the game. Also, put your mind in preparation for anything at all..

Stopping is when the money mapped out to gamble with has been exhausted before such person should think of stopping than continue gambling using additional funds, we know that everyone usually have a gambling budget and until the budget has been exhausted they wouldn't stop or space the casino. Some of the ones I mentioned are some of the common conditions that are the reasons for gamblers to quit gambling. And from a positive perspective, gamblers who are still gambling, they just consider it as entertainment and small wins are just a bonus.

Losing once is not a good indicator to stop especially if you are just using a bankroll that you can afford to lose. Gambling is a source of entertainment which means that your goal on playing is to have fun without inflicting damage to your finances.

You will surely lose if you gamble because it has -EV on all games available in the casino so you shouldn’t gamble at all if you will become affected by a single lose.

Age is only a but a number it does not limit us to doing soft things. Anyone can gamble even at age a gambler can choose to gamble. But some persons get tired of gambling after having a family to look out for. Some quite due to the idea that gambling is for young people so after reaching a particular age they don't feel the need to gamble anymore. It depends on the game you bet on, if it is football match for example and you lose I think you should stop gambling and wait for another day when you can afford to risk another amount but if it is a slot game you can keep trying until you lose everything and come back another day.

The OP didn't specifically mentioned if he meant quitting totally from gambling or just taking a break for the day, probably when the gambler is losing so much. That's why in my first comment, I was asking him if he meant quitting permanently or just taking a break due to losing streak. That has not been answered yet but if he meant quitting, then what you said is absolutely right, quitting in gambling is not based on age but just some personal decision due to any reason of the individual.

I agree and disagree with you at the same time. I agree with you if the gambler is rich like me. Because my monthly expenses are fixed. I cannot spend more than a certain amount for myself and my family. So I can gamble more than I need. If I win then I will make a profit and I can invest more money in gambling or I can build some assets. So people like me can continue gambling until our monthly expenses are gone.

But I have some friends who are in business. Now if they think like me then I think it will not take them long to go bankrupt. Because many of them have taken large loans from the bank. And many of them do not have a fixed budget for their monthly expenses. And if they think like me and continue gambling then they will lose all their money very quickly.
