What if they'd sent coins to it before it crashed? Now they've deleted their wallet.dat. Are you new to crypto currencies?

Wallet crashing at start. They would not even be able to copy wallet address before wallet is crashing :)

P.S.: But this isn't problem in wallet.dat. Before deleting, they can make a backup of wallet.dat.

Obviously it's not a problem in wallet.dat, but user said "It worked once", so if they sent coins to the wallet then deleted that folder they'd have lost access to them. You should be more careful with this kind of advice dev.

I think people understand that deleting folder will lose access to the coins.
But yes, you're right.

Don't mean to be harsh dev, you know what this place is like one slip up and the fud squads will never let you hear the end of it.

I am having a little problem with the windows wallet on w7 Enterprise.
When I launch the wallet I get the normal assertion error on the first run.

The second, and all subsequent restarts, of the wallet present the following error:

Our rules (https://c-cex.com/?id=ico) don't let us keep funds longer than 3 days after ICO end. We will not hold it longer or refund ICO in case coin launched successfully, wallets developed, network and mining is up. POD is recommended but always optional.

usually releases wouldn't do much for price, but when the mcap is this low, even a bit of extra attention will add big buy pressure

Honestly, don't really care for POD much. Doesn't really do anything for exposing scammers (except the rare, exceptionally dumb ones).

That being said, it is a bit sketch that the dev was vehement about not allowing himself the funds until POD confirmation, and has now begun singing  a different tune.

Minor issue for me, mcap is so low right now I can pick up whole %'s of coins for a couple bucks. Risk reward ratio is pretty good, so I'll take my chances.

Agree with vagabondz, the ipo funds was a pretty meager amount so I'd rather see it put towards development which there's already been more of here than with many other new coins. Good decision dev.

How many total POW blocks are there?

max coin supply is ~10m (8m are left for POW), average block reward of 10, 1 block per minute.

So that's 800,000 blocks.

You fail to make the connection between a coin's value and what gives it value.

Just because you take away POW and make a coin POS, doesn't mean it'll magically get a bigger mcap.

I know I was not the one you were responding too and I think you make a good point but I also want to comment that when the mining price is immediately lower than the ICO price it seems like ideally the coins parameters would push this the other way.  I'm not asking for anything to change, but I am curious what you think about this.

Well, I'm in this coin simply as a high risk, high reward play. Took me 0.2 BTC to pick up like 20k coins, which is almost 5% of the current supply. If the coin dies, I'm out $60. If it picks up tractions, hits bittrex, and delivers a few goodies, then that 5% would be worth a few BTC. Pretty good gamble imo.

As for the mining, the amount of coins mined each day is already preset, so if there's only one person mining, he will get all those coins even if he only uses a little hashrate. Thus, the reason the mining price is so low, is because very few people are mining, thus less competition, meaning cheaper mining prices.

However, each day only 14k coins will be mined, which means that the supply will inflate relatively quickly for the first month or so (coin supply will  double to nearly 1 million supply, from currently 450k). After this first month, we'll see the mining inflation begin to fall off.

Basically, taking everything into account, the mcap is ridiculously low for the coin supply (~5btc mcap), and the mining won't add in nearly as much inflation as other coins out there. Seems to me that the dev has a course of action and a plan as well, so I'm more than happy to take this gamble.\

1) Transactions are working without problems(test on C-CEX, Wallet and Web wallet).
2) With blocks and hashrate(they are the same on C-CEX, web wallet, hashlink and suprnova) also no problem.

P.S.: The developer needs sleep. If there are problems, then during 24 hours will be made hardfork.

I have no idea what you're talking about but yes, I've synced to the "right" fork hours ago, but I will not start stratum again and my pool will only stay up for withdrawals.

I was able to sync after I downloaded the block chain again.
Current number of blocks in the wallet is showing 18845.

Seems like after I finally got back in sync, I lost about 650 coins.
So there is a fork... now we need the dev to confirm if we are on the right side of the fork.

Dev did aknowledge the fork.  We are going with the chain that suprnova and c-cex are on.  so if you go to the suprnova pool page @ https://ucoin.suprnova.cc/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool  In the bottom left stats area find the current block.  Your wallet should match that.

What to do if does not match?

If it doesn't match you need to delete the chain you have downloaded and resynch with the network.  Make sure to backup your wallet.

Then if all uses of network resynch chain everything returns to normal? Then why dev not tell the whole resync chain?

I'm having trouble understanding your question but would like to help you.  Could you try asking it a little more clearly?   You jut need to get the correct chain downloaded and then your wallet will be working on the same chain as the exchange and rest of the wallets

Yes that will solve the problem.  It would have been nice if the dev team had given more specific directions to people who were not sure what to do.  I think he might have assumed people have a better understanding of what to do in the situation than they actually do.  It is all working well.

Current block number can get here (http://wallet.ucoin.name/api/api.php?action=getcurrentblock).

If you wallet current block number don’t match with this, you must resync blockchain:
1) Go to:
On Windows: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\UCoin
On Linux: ~/.ucoin/
On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/UCoin

2) Backup wallet.dat file
3) Delete all files.
4) Put wallet.dat
5) Start UCoin-Qt and blockchain will be downloaded from correct fork.

there seems some problems when sycning.Maybe it has something to do with POS+POW in the same time.

My wallet seems to remain synched and produce POS but I did notice I am missing a few (three) payouts from Suprnva over the course of a week or so.  I wonder if that could be related to the issues you are finding?  I put in a support ticket to suprnva to see if I they can see anything and if they can still get me the little bit of coins I mined but didn't receive.  All my tests sending coins from my wallet are still successful.

The coin daemon seems to have some issues sending sometimes.. working on a fix..

Guys, thanks a lot for mentioning this! Few days ago I have configured C-CEX wallet address as autopayment address in my Supernova account, and miners were run for few days. Was wondering why I don't see my C-CEX balance increasing while I continue to mine... Now after looking at your message, I have checked this and found that Surenova logged a lot of payments (at least 20-30, but probably much more than that), but none of them reach C-CEX wallet!! I see at C-CEX about 13 UCoin deposits hanging with "0 of 7" confirmations, but those are just a small part of the transactions done... I'm not sure where are the coins..

@ocminer: does this sound familiar, is that a common problem..? I am a bit worried :)

EDIT: disable the autopayments now for a while, before the problem is solved..., as the coins seem to be disappearing, possibly there is a problem in the blockchain.

Why are you surprised that I m using WinXP. There are people like me who are refusing to use Win7,8,Android or anything let's call it modern. I don't have touch screen phone and yes I have about 30 various Commodore computers.

LOL because its a thirteen year old operating system that is no longer supported by its manufacturer. 

The real question should why are you surprised that new software doesn't work on your antiquated computer?  I personally think you are insane if you are expecting any developer to spend their time making their software compatible with that system.

WinXP is still widespread OS, and many people use it because of various reasons: some use XP as they like it more than the latest creations of microsoft (and there are real reasons to like the XP more), others use it on older PC's just because it runs much lighter/faster than Win7 on smaller RAM. The fact that there are newer things, it does not mean those newer things are better.

In any case, serious developers should support XP if they want their user base to be wider. You cannot force users to upgrade just because you don't want to spend time on old OS. You will just lose that user if you ignore him.

WinXP is still a widespread OS because people are too poor and/or stupid to upgrade.  If you want to run XP for some reason do it in with a VM.

There are many different types of people in the world :). And all of them think different way and see different things which others (including you and me) don't see. Its not as simple as you think :)

The main point of my post was not to decide who is right, who is wrong, who is stupid and who is smart. The point is - if dev wants more people look into the coin, he might (or should) consider fixing the wallet for XP, or compile/link it statically, as majsta suggested.

In any case no reason to argue about taste, sure UCoin communities activity is a good thing, as previous poster mentioned, but better to run it around our new UCoins, not around that old, outdated XP  ;D.

There is no need to be judgmental or call someone insane just because want to use something different than others. In most cases that has nothing to do with money. In fact most of the complete Ucoin net hash rate now is supported from my side and I will add more power when time is right. I agree the fact that things are not so simple and that there are various people in the world who things different way. All I wanted to say that old version of Ucoin wallet worked on WinXP then why shouldn't new one so I can continue my support to this coin. I didn't requested from developer team to build something new and to waste their time just for me. And for all money in the world I wouldn't start using android phone, windows 8 or something like that.

Ok I will stop discussion about OS because this is not the place to do it like I said before. However I will continue to mine Ucoin and support it.

It isn't supposed to be a personal attack, we all play the fool from time to time.  I am saying from a technological standpoint running an outdated OS as your primary is a bad decision.  The point of the operating system is to allow you to run software on your computer is it not?  You are having trouble running software on your computer because your OS is outdated.  Even if it is for some reason a superior OS to you, nostalgia or something more, you can run it as a virtual machine within a modern operating system.  This will allow you to run new software and still run your old software when you want to or whatever it is people do with WinXP.  I know I come off as a bully, sorry.

It is perfectly normal to me that someone attacks my way of life. Just few minutes ago I talked with my friends about new technologies and why I refuse to support them. Once when you realize that your life is easy accessible to everyone you will understand why someone want's to hide. Call me paranoid but I just don't want to someone have my pictures, knows where and I what I eat, where I go and who are my friends, interests. In order to use new technologies you must give up on your privacy and once you got burned from that you start to fight against it as much as something like that could be possible those days. For me it is too easy to track anyone who is using modern equipment. Think about those who owns those services what they can do with provided data. With bitcoin business I have seen too many times that people got in serious problems because huge investments from someone. We are talking here about millions of dollars investments into something that could turn bad at any point. So why risk more and get yourself in the position where you don't want to be. Anyway we are long way from our subject with this discussion. I placed some decent buy orders regarding Ucoin quantities on C-cex and I m mining now about 12 000 Ucoins per day. I will support network with more hash at some point.  

If you are putting your pictures on the internet, putting where you eat on the internet, putting your interests and where you go on the internet it does not matter what OS you are running.  I can't even imagine how or why you think XP is protecting your privacy.  This is getting old, just like your computer.  :D ;D ;) :-*

I have a question though... whats happening with the pools? "ucoin.minerpools.com" is not working at all, looks like there is no such pool in existence. "ucoin.suprnova.cc", where I used to mine UCoins, is in maintenance mode for already more than a week or two ("This pool is currently in maintenance mode." is displayed, and it does not allow to login, moreover to mine). Whats up with Supernova? Is there any problem with wallet, so it is in permanent maintenance mode?

Unfortunately, the release function of trade in web wallets have to move, as C-CEX Trade API in "maintenance".

Delete all pools except AikaPool.

Just drop me a mail/twitter msg/pm here if you're having problems/questions with a Suprnova pool.

I've put it into maintenance as all miners left it and the network seemed to have stalled for a couple of days.

Currently Aikapool shows some Block over 120xxx, the block explorer shows 119xxx and i'm (stalled) on 102285...

If there is really still interested to mine this coin I can try to resync the chain and see how many of the last blocks were orphans, maybe there aren't so much and it would be easy to fix, the question is if there is still interest to mine this coin as I only see very low nethash and few miners...

Guys what a problem you have here? Why not put any orders to rise a price and minimall return your money (better make same little profit then lost all anyway ). Its easy to not do anything and crying around about any kind of scam. Lol here IPO collect not much then 3 BTC or not? Im not sure that UcoinTeam Dev really want to scam anybody here, because he continued his work on that project without any profits and with crying in thread about scam. Dev make his part of work here. Community not do anything for that project to have a success. Price of any coins at most make a strong community.

What refers to community to help with the coin... That's a good point, I believe some of us are doing something, some not. Maybe not enough. But in general I think this coin is in the stage of slow, but steady development, and the price does not matter too much now. It allows to get more cheap coins now, which I personally do :)

I don't understand mrz123's suggestion about making this full PoS... Why he thinks that "with pure pos the network will be better than if it stays low hashrate hybrid pos" ?  ??? Strange idea... Do anyone understands why one could think that way? I believe nothing is bad with low hashrate PoW.

EDIT: however something is wrong with Suprnova pool now: I see some "amonymous" mining and getting blocks like 122,0xx right now, while at Aikapool folks are at 123,2xx at the same moment. Also last block time at Suprnova is shown as "01/19/2015 05:33:47", while the GMT time now is "01/18/2015 17:36:27". What timezone the Supernova works on..?

Today I update UWallet for Android(Material Design UI, fixed some minor bugs) and UWallet for Mac(added a section with a list of transactions).
UWallet for Android, will be available in Google Play tomorrow.

If you are sure about changing algorithm, please notify pool operators (@ocminer and @AikaPool) beforehand, so there is no mess created by this!
I suppose also the block explorers have to be updated. BTW, the current explorers are not in sync - one (http://ucoin.explorer.ssdpool.com:9124) is stuck and shows only blocks before Jan 17, another one (http://bitexp.net/explorer.php?coin=UCoin) seems to be working, but it is not in sync with C-CEX! C-CEX does not accept transactions visible in that block explorer. I have lost about 1200 ucoins because of that... There may be a fork in the network again.

Hopefully with new algo the blockchain will be more stable...

I think that those multiple forks needs to be resolved first. Aika pool is on wrong fork again.

what's the exchange rate from old Ucoins to the new ?

Very good question. I suppose this cannot be 1:1, as the old coin's number was just 9,750,000, and new coins number is 50,000,000! So new coins are more and should be worth about 5 times less than old coins. Considering the current price of the UCoin, I would think it would be better to rethink this once more and maybe reduce the number of new UCoins from 50M to 10M, and then exchange them 1:1... I am not a crytpocurrency expert, but it seems to me increasing the number of coins at this stage is not the best idea, as it could devaluate the price... What do you think? What does the community and experienced folks think?

Also - how would the coins at C-Cex, Suprnova and AikaPool be converted? Should we do soimething, or corresponding exchange/pool operators will convert them automatically? Are they informed?

Cex, Suprnova and AikaPool can decide how to do it. As an option: make a separate pool for UCoinX11, in UCoinX15 leave only the ability to output.

drays, crypto_currency, exchange planned to spend 1:1, so as PoW total coins has been reduced almost by half. The rest of coins ≈46.5M is for PoS. Moreover, holders may increase the number of their coins using PoS, the percentage of which in the first two months will be equal to ≈10% per month. I think it's fair.

BTW, Suprnova is probably on some wrong fork again... What are the correct nodes for X15 UCoin to synchronise? The nodes in the OP don't seem to be correct - my QT wallet synchronizes using them, but the current blocks differ from the ones shown on web uwallet, and on windows uwallet..., so it looks like UCoin QT Wallet and UWallet work on different forks!

drays that is odd what you are experiencing.  My windows qt shows same block as webwallet.

UWallet uses node1.ucoin.name, node2.ucoin.name and ucoin.suprnova.cc.

Problem solved. Compile wallets on servers and download ucoin-qt for windows to server.

But Suprnova still is not on the same fork - the current block on the pool is 143192, while on the UWallet it is 143928. And the difficulties shown differ: 0.00053868 vs 0.50340674!
