Is it even possible to make a living by selling bitcoins?

Back when you could mine hundreds of bitcoins in a day by just using your CPU and keeping it up until the ATH and sell it by then. If you have, say a thousand bitcoins and you've sold it at $1100, you could easily make $1.1 million dollars out of it--enough to provide for your needs for many years. As of the current times, it is not a very good way to make a living out of bitcoins unless you have a very popular service that many people are utilizing or using.

Yes however I guess it depends on the countries , you can't do much on USA , UK , Qatar ,Dubai , France if you ask me .
however in my country for example ,the minimum payout here (if we convert it to USD) is 180$ and people could live with that , it would be hard but they do their best . so something like 1 BTC should do just fine .
Note that on my country most of people have houses (there is no rent) , they all own houses because goverment give houses to those who don't have money and for those who do , they give them cheap houses .

It is possible, but bitcoin maybe will not last longer
And you cant put all your money in bitcoins and waiting the price to rise.
I think it is possible but you should have lots of money to start with, wait for a crash and buy a lot.

If you have 10.000+ Bitcoins then yes you can make living by selling them.
If you trust banks you may cash out them and use compound interest etc.

why 20, 1 btc is 240, with 4 btc you can already have a decent life, if you can afford those every month

3 antminers s7 can do(almost) this if electricity is 0

Yes, but only if you can acquire your bitcoin for less than you're selling them for. And then you'd need to calculate the margin between your cost and your revenue to arrive at your profit - which would determine if you could "make a living" doing it.

The challenge is that it's difficult to buy bitcoin today (any single moment time) for significantly less than anyone would want to buy them from you. So you'd have to either mine the bitcoin or acquire it now, wait for the price to rise and then sell it.

The latter idea is what many, many people are currently doing - and it does not yet "make a living" for anyone.

The hard part is where are people getting these places with 0 electricity costs. I do not understand it as most landlords if it's included would not be happy if your bills had multi-hundred more then past tenets in electricity.

Only places I have that did not measure were student housing.  And they were pretty expensive really.  Great housing but not cheap and not a lot of power to play around with.

I really don't get this thread and your question? I am pretty sure that others were answering without knowing what you wanted to ask OP?

The only thing that makes sense to me is that you are interested in trading bitcoins, buying and selling them maybe on localbitcoins and living of the sales difference. But even this would depend of living expenses and in which country do you live?

I assume the OP is talking about selling via Localbitcoins or something like that. In that case your concerns will be spread and volume and the right place to buy them from at the right time.

There appear to be professional traders on there but you'd be working awful hard and dealing with a lot of flaky assholes. You'd need your bank accounts and local regulation in order too otherwise you'd be shut down rapidly. There's gotta be easier livings to be had out there but it's quite possible.

A lot of the exchanges if the suspect you selling on localbitcoins they will close your account.  So you really would need to find a way to get BTC regulary other then a echange.

I'm speaking about US specifically.  As if you are selling BTC from say coinbase they will not like that.  It has to do with KYC they have to do a lot to keep legal.  I also suggest you look into laws a lot of times if you do localbitcoins in US it could be considered money laundering.

If you are not mining them the hard part will be getting BTC for low and selling high.   Buy low and sell high some will say as if it's simple but the value changes rapidly. So a profit is not a sure thing.

Also those who sell bitcoin have a heck of a premium, as sadly it's a high fraud area.   I personally only mine or buy from exchange.

yeah, was an ideal scenario, but he can add two more antminer s7 to overcome the electricity cost, if it is around 0.05, otherwise better forget tohe mining and go with job--->exchange fiat to bitcoin

Depends on your regions prices. For me I would need 2 btc/month to have a decent life, however I cant earn that much online , so it will take more time to reach that level.

What is the estimated earning of a antminer s7?
More than 1BTC a month i think is good enough, since it cost more than 8BTC including the PSU.
But in less than 10 months there will be a halving does it affect directly the mining earnings?

Yes, if you make enough btc online, but it's similar to running a business. You need an effective method to get that much bitcoins.

Yup you get half the coins.

You can check a miner's potential profit here - http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/bitcoin-mining-calculator

I thought we were long past the phase it was considered viable for the little guy.

Well, I'm not talking about mining here.
Also how much can you make on localbitcoins?
Because it has more traders and greater competition.

I calculated that if at the moment you can earn around 1.2BTC monthly -0.2BTC i speculate the electricity so 1BTC monthly.
In 8 months you can reach the ROI if you mine 24/7, so until the next halving you can earn 2BTC + selling the antminer s7 as a bonus if you want to leave at that moment, so i can think that you can make a living if you own many of these miners and have a stable electricity.

In my country, you'd need to sell at least 1.5BTC a day to make a good enough living
ASSUMING you already have a house and pay around 3BTC per month for bills, 0.5BTC every day for food
0.3BTC for entertainment purposes, and maybe 1BTC a month for health insurance lol.

So yeah, as long as you have a good long stream of Bitcoin,
and a house here in the Philippines -- You can live here on Bitcoin

For a middle - class family of size 4, BTC1 bitcoin might be enough to stay, live and eat
And thats in my country. Can't tell about others

making a living from bitcoin, depends completely on you and what you are planning on doing in order to earn bitcoin. in other words it depends on the job you are doing!
for example if you are planning on working faucets, gambling, and other silly ways to earn bitcoin; then you should not expect to "earn a living" through that.
but you can make good money through other ways like online computer jobs like coding, graphical design, etc and thing in that category or even trading can be profitable.

It should be possible. How many BTC, it depends actually. First you need to consider the country that you're in, why? Because you need to know the demands of bitcoins in the area, the popularity (is it well known), and etc.

Making a living thru bitcoin is a bit risky unless you have a service, goods, or currency exchange then I guess you're good to go. You need to keep the bitcoin flowing to make a living out of it.

well not free you need to invest your time at least, like in real life with your real job

there are some guy around the word getting free electricity maybe abusively, but there are...

that's why you sell it halfway through its roi, which would be a mere 4-5 months, i highly doubt that something more efficient will come in a such short time frame...

Well, I'm not talking about mining here.
Also how much can you make on localbitcoins?
Because it has more traders and greater competition.

The margin on Localbitcoins is about 5%-10%, so if you want to make $1000 per month, then you need to sell $10k - $20k worth of bitcoins per month. Depending on where you are, that might be difficult to do.

Even if you can't make a living at it, you can do it as a hobby. I used to sell bitcoins on LocalBitcoins and it was fun meeting all those people getting Bitcoins for the first time. I generally met at Starbucks and the commission paid for my drink an sometimes for lunch.

And the problem again is getting 10-20k worth of BTC.  Legal exchanges following rules likely will stop account if doing this volume, they might ask questions or worse assume selling and lock account where no purchasing depending on exchange.

So you really would have to find a VERY big miner and partner up.   And likely you would have to cut him in on part of it as a big supplier who can do this is few and far between.   And the sad thing is a few bad deals with a scammer could eat up a big chunk of the profit.  When dealing with hundreds of dollars per BTC.   It is risky to say the least.

The best case is that the ROI is within 8 months.
But the worst case can be that the mining rig can be burned by the first day.
Anyway I don't think that any amount of btc selling now will guarantee a good life in future.

For ROI use a calculator closer to bitwisdom - https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator.  Coinwars is great for getting what it will do today.  But in future there will be difficulty changes.   So coinwars is only good in near future.

When trying to do months down the road you need to include difficulty.   Try it out I think you will like it.

Are you talking about mining solo "loto mining" or like a lottery ticcket?   But you are right on lotto mining if that is what you mean.  But only thing is it's a very slim chance of happening.  Most lotto miners never hit a block.

But if you did currently you would have 25 btc to sell and live off of.  So nice little bump.  The hardest thing is repeatable making a living off something.  If it's a one time thing you cant really live off of.

But it is HARD to find something high profit, and repeatable.   If you do it though yes you likely could live off of.

It is very possible. But you need a lot of bitcoin and you have to be trusted.

Since still many people didn't know about bitcoin, you need more extra energy to explain what is bitcoin to other people.

In my current living style I may need to sell off 3 bitcoins to get $780 to $850 for a monthly living from bitcoin. But I'm not ready to spend bitcoin right now as I am a biggest optimistic on bitcoins' price appreciations.

I also have the same dream.
If the bitcoin price hit again it's peak price, I must need at least 1000 bitcoins to make a luxurious life. Half is enough for a decent life. But getting 1000 or 500 bitcoins is not possible now a days due to high difficulties and competition.

If my dream comes true then 1 bitcoin will be enough for your entire life. If not then at least 100 :D

Look bitcoin will probably have a shiny future , its the saviour of humanity!

It is already going up, so i`m looking forward to hit 400-500$ by the end of the year, but anything is possible.

Next summer when the halving happens, it could go to 10,000$ or even higher.

Your very optimistic on having price.  It's all speculation no one can tell you what will happen at having this far away.  I mean it's a long time away in crytpo time.  But to throw numbers like 10k.... I'm not expecting at having.

We need to see btc price before having a few months to have any clue.  And really having no one will know till we hit it.   But I would not expect 10k per btc at having even at most optimistic pricing.

Well look there are many possibilities, some say it will go 0, some say it will stay 200$, then are conservatives like you who think it will go up but not to a huge price, and there are dreamers like me who think it will go to the moon.

One thing is certain though, that if bitcoin is left on it's current path, it will have a big growth curve ahead of it, or in other words, the economy gets worse and bitcoin is a safe haven.

We must realize that bitcoin is no longer a forum money for nerds, it is slowly becoming global, and once the traders realize that, it can go really big.

Bitcoin will never go below $200 even if go it will just test never will sustain below $200 levels. The present price may require more number of bitcoins for a living from it. But the most optimistic prices we never will be in need of one full bitcoin for a complete month expenses.

if you're alone you could make a living with 400 euro per months, i know that i can do it easily, but with a family, it's something different

in both case you need to save on useless stuff and buy only the essential, there however room for the fun, with your money

your question is pretty vague ,if you are generating passive income from crypto's per day or weekly or like if you are mining then it is fairly possible to sell and make a living from it .
coming to the number of coins required, its not same for everyone ,depends on your country ,your living ,your desires etc...

Well it really depends on which country do you live,
But 0.1BTC within a week isn't enough to live in most of the countries.
In a real physical job this is reachable in 2-3 hours up to 2 days.

I can live with only $100 per month and I am still living with my parents. I don't even have to sell bitcoins unless I am gonna pay for my tuition. I can buy food and other goods at a friend of mine who accepts bitcoin as payment, so I'm better off holding it for the future instead.

ah that's good, but the life there in philippine is also cheap if i'm not mistaken, so you can probably live with 200 if you were alone

yes it is possible if you can sell 20 bitcoins per month but the question is how you can get them?
I think there are too many ways . to earn 20 btc in a month. If you know marketing or cpa you can earn it in a month if you are professional marketer.I have friends out there that can earn every day $200 for marketing affiliate.
Then the second is become a owner of gambling site because gambling is most profitable business you can earn fast...

To make a living through Bitcoins, you need to get Bitcoins based on your country...
In my country, even 1 BTC would easily make you live a month or two, based on which city you live in...
We really can't assume the exact number as we are unaware of the expenses, but if you know your expenses and everything, then I guess you already know your answer, just convert the bucks to BTC... ;)

It's 430+ USD on value... that is a decent amount per coin.    I don't think ten thousand is a realistic number unless you are use to a very privileged life.  I think you need to do some math again.

I'm not sure but most could live under this I think.   Unless your talking retirement amount to live off and no other income.

5-6 bitcoin is around $2400. That is more than comfortable to live in most countries. With the price of bitcoin price, you need fewer and fewer bitcoins to live comfortably.

With the volatility of bitcoin I don't know if I would want to try and live off selling bitcoin. Only way of feel comfortable is if I had a secure way to invest bitcoin and just live off the interest. Either that it as others have talked about mining so I had a semi consistent way of bringing bitcoin in. As others have mentioned to living off of selling bitcoin, it depends on where you live and what you're comfortable living off of.

It all depends on what you consider a living and what Bitcoin is at when it comes to price.  Right now, I need to make 12 BTC per month to make a living and this does not take into consideration any emergency issues that may come up.  My mother could live off of 4 BTC per month.  So it all depends on what goals you have set for yourself.

It is a good point on what you consider living.  Some are talking about living well and some just enough to get though the month.   I think amount should be to live decent, I'm not talking about being super well off.  But something where they have a little for some extras in life.

I find country interesting on how much some of it can effect it.  If you could live on sub .5 BTC per month I wonder quality of life on some of the countries.  I would love to hear more in this area out of interest.

Is it even possible to make a living by selling bitcoins?
i think it really possible but the questions is how much bitcoin would you need to make a living

Depends a lot on what you define as "a living".

Some folks live comfortably on under $1000/month, some seem to think they "NEED" $5000+ to live on.

"decent" is a variable concept and the cost of "decent" varies widely depending largely on where you live.
"decent" in most of Iowa is easy to achieve on $2000/month, but in Manhattan you're probably paying more than that in rent alone for a "decent" place.

True. It's a very subjective matter and it's deeply connected with the standard of living and culture of the place when you live.
It's useful to take the time and compute the amount of money needed to satisfy the basic necessitates of life, the amount needed for living decently and amount needed to living luxuriously according to your own needs.

Those will vary from person to person.
For me basics can be covered with 800$/month so approx 2 bitcoins
decently would be 1200$/month approx 3 bitcoins
and double that for luxuries - 6 bitcoins

every months at least I sell 1-2BTC to my life. but 1BTC highly enough for me because I was not married :D
For unmarried people it does not require lots of money to live.
Especially if you still live with your family, in general i would say 1-1.5BTC is enough for food and other basic things.
yes but unfortunately I always have a lot of expenses :D
yes 1-1.5BTC highly enough for the necessities of life if I was married, because the cost of living in my country is not too high.

the average is actually less than 1k per month, if you include every country, so it must be considered that as a standard, surely not 5k per month, which is overkill

so this mean that 2.5 btc at best for anyone should suffice

I do not have to sell bitcoin to make a living. My living cost is about $3000 per month, so that is about 7 bitcoins.

This is 100% correct.  I could live off of about 5 BTC per month.  I will not be doing nothing buy paying bills and covering birthdays and holidays, but I could do that.  There are others who can live off of 1 BTC or even less.  If you live in New York City, you would need 10 BTC just to pay for rent in some places.  It all depends on where you live and what you need to live.  So this main question is to vague.

It is possible for you to live off Bitcoin. How many Bitcoins you'd have to sell depends on your lifestyle. The problem is how you earn all those Bitcoin to be able to live off Bitcoin. If you mine, you'd earn less and less. If you live off Bitcoin completely, you'd worry about a multitude of things, and it would drive you nuts. If somebody was to do that, I would say 10 BTC as a bare minimum per month.

What about people who bought millions of $ at 1000$ and were down to 200$ later.

They lost 80% of their money and still havent sold bitcoin, that is the real stress. Now they recovered +20% of it at 400$

The price is volatile but the production of bitcoin is low. So sure there will be increased demand and market value of bitcoin increases gradually. My opinion by the month of june we can find a increased value for bitcoin. To making a living through bitcoin depends upon the country you reside.

To have a good living atleast you need one bitcoin to be sold every month. If the price goes high or low accordingly you can change the numbers without much calculations

Sooo many factors

Cost of living
How much BTC do you have
How are you going to keep the BTC supply going
Do you want to improve your lifestyle
Are you willing to cut your lifestyle back

and so on

The answer would be different for each and every one of us

The more important fact is your whereabouts. In some countries 1BTC is a LOT of money but rich EU countries or USA it is not that much.
I think this question needs to be answered individually by every person who wants to trade bitcoin/cryptocurrencies.
And of course you can live from it, I know people who are earning that way, but that is not your standard office job, more like a gambling - but with potentially lower risks.

You are right, I live in India and it's very easy to survive if I spend BTC1 a month everytime...
But sometimes, inflation increases a lot due to which it is not possible to decide that what amount do we actually need in order to live on BTC...

Yeah true, but after getting married, we need some more coins, not 1 full, but at least 0.5 BTC more in order to survive as if we get children in our life...
And yes, money management is obviously the most important step that we need to take care of if we are to live on Bitcoins alone, as the value of BTC is a factor based on which we will be managing our fiat and expenses...

This is it exactly, there is no one right answer as there are way too many variables. To answer for you specifically you just figure what you need to live on in your local currency for 1 month, then divide that amount by price (in your currency)/1 btc and you will have the number for BTCs a month you need to live. Of course this will probably vary month by month as the price of btc fluctuates a lot.

BTC is still too new and volatile in price right now to be a reliable means of living off. Even if you managed to secure a steady 2 BTC a month income, and further assuming that was enough in your region to live off of, what happens if the price of BTC drops in half? Sadly, BTC is still very much tied to its value it fiat, so at the end of the day even if you are buying things in btc, it is still priced based upon its relative value in fiat. A 0.01 BTC Starbucks today might sell for 0.02 BTC tomorrow and 0.05 BTC next month.

What's the budget you aim for? For example if you charge 7% fees over market price, and you want 2,000 USD dollars monthly to survive and do w/e you want, you would have to sell

(2000*1)/0.07=28,571.43 usd that would be 66.29 bitcoin at current bitstamp rate of 431 USD, that would leave you with 2,000 USD monthly.

worst decision ever to convert everything, you can convert a tiny portion just for the stuff that you cna not buy with bitcoin

with something like all4btc you can buy everythign with bitcoin, so why wasting time converting in fiat? not to mention the possible and very probable increase in the value in the future

Yeah 1 btc to me is too much to living maybe i can live even 0.7 btc here in my country..
if i can earn much of this 0.7 every month maybe i will quit in my real job and i continue collecting bitcoins..
But for now i only have low earnings every month..

0.7 BTC fair enough and the best for my situation is a free energy and place for about 3-4 antminers and im still thinking in investing maybe to buy 1 or 2 of them. It would do a great job, but I have to take loan if I decide to buy. Still thinking

It will differ from country to country, but here is a list of minimum wages by country : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_minimum_wages_by_country With this I am not saying that it is a survivable income, but you can take that as a guideline. Most currencies are depicted in US $ and the Minimum wage is shown in Annual / Workweek / Hourly and Percent of GDP per capita. You will just need to change it to Bitcoin to see if you are still within the minimum wage for your country and how many coins you would need to survive and for how long. ^smile^

It differs according to the country as well the price of bitcoin. With the recent days price it is easy to make living with 1bitcoin for a month. The living is not a luxurious one, but with a some sort of comfort.

Here also in my country 1 btc converted to 20,000 Philippine Peso is enough to live a family with 2 kids. However because of economy's crisis somehow it is sufficient.

1.5 bitcoin are more than enough to live humble here around  $600 current rates.
With $500 capital to trade altcoin and bitcoin I only earn 0.5 bitcoin per month steady plus from signature campaign 0.16 average sum , plus trade some digital stuff total I earn around 0.8 monthly,  not bad.

I think the question would be more about what is ROI for investment to get bitcoins and make a living with that.

The approach would be:
- Invest your time to do some real work and get paid by bitcoins, and then exchanged to any currency you can make a living in your place.
- Invest your money to get miners running and get rewarded by bitcoins.
- Invest your money to trading place and get rewarded by bitcoins or money.

All of above are at your own risks.  ;D

Based upon the location the number differs. For a living in third world countries 2bitcoin is more than enough. Better option is not to sell for living. Its better to save for the future.

Not to be rude but that's a really silly question, you can make money selling anything. But i think you ment to rather ask "how do you live off bitcoin" just like any other way of making money although bitcoin has made things alot easier for us all and opened up a world of new opportunity to make money thinking outside the box and making online business safer and fast. Also trading in altcoins is really fun and lucrative but not easy.

Since still many people didn't know about bitcoin, you need more extra energy to explain what is bitcoin to other people.

For me 0.2btc is enough a month and I am living with selling my bitcoins to fiat. My earning source is doing signature campaigns and working as freelancer. I earn some bitcoins every month through them and it is enough for me. I think every one can live with selling bitcoin because bitcoin is legit currency and easily can be exchanged into dollars.

Agreed, if we hole depend on bitcoin earning, may be it will be hard, it is not my meaning that we can't earn it alot from bitcoins.
it all depend on our skills that how can i earn from bitcoins. if we have big investment or trading than of course we can get good profit. and sometime we will get loss. On the other hand, if we can't do big trading or we can't handle it than our living style will be damaged. if we use the bitcoins for part time job, i think it will be better.

That was amazing, what country are you in? I am thinking of living in your country as with that 1BTC you can already survive living comfortably in a month. To be honest, that can be easily achieve in a monthly basis even if you are working online but you just need to work hard and devote your time to bitcoins.

Well, considering that you have to have around $3,000 AUD here at least a month to sustain a comfortable middle class lifestyle, assuming that there is minimal rent and no debt outstanding, you need around 3 BTC a month.

Which isn't that bad if you think about it.

Although btc is a very great crypto currency to invest in for later purposes

Exactly, in every country the standard of living varies so if you are in a less developed or developed countries where commodities are cheap you will enjoy your earnings with bitcoin and even $200 or $100 a week is enough living a simple lifestyle.

It still depends on your standard way of living, if your lifestyle is simple you can live with 1 BTC a month but that is the least amount for me, you also have to consider the major and unexpected expenses that may happen so basically 1 BTC is not enough.

Bitcoin probably not allow to earn enough money to live, but if you talk about trading, it is possible to make a profit, but it's still risky.
If the price of Bitcoin decrease a lot while you invested on it, you will lose a lot of money.

Probably in my country with the current price tag of bitcoin one needs to sell a single bitcoin to have a comfortable living.
It still depends on your standard way of living, if your lifestyle is simple you can live with 1 BTC a month but that is the least amount for me, you also have to consider the major and unexpected expenses that may happen so basically 1 BTC is not enough.

That's true, but its truly possible to fulfil my basic needs along with a small amount as saving. Thinking of a more comfortable or luxurious living more bitcoins were required as quoted by above mate.

I think his pointing about monthly and not for lifetime. If you ask me that amount of bitcoin per month can changed my life because it's too big amount of money if i can sell that amount every month. For me 1-3 bitcoin is enough for an average person to earn a living.

Is it even possible to make a living by selling bitcoins?

I think its possible, if you have huge amount of bitcoin. But my advice, you should not use bitcoin for living expenses. I would suggest to real life working, because with real life working you guaranteed to get money every month. thank you

Day job will take care of your living and you don't need to depend on bitcoin for living, as you need to have good amount of coins if you want live with bitcoin.

If you have extra bitcoin that would be for entertainment id say but for living expenses I would not rely on btc due to some major fluctuations in the stock itself

Although btc is a very great crypto currency to invest in for later purposes

like i said before though 3 btc a month is a pretty nice living although you really should not rely like they say,,,it will not end so well if you rely on BTC as your income for a month-further because it is not STABLE enough to rely on it like that.

It also depend on in which country you are living and what is the cost of living there, in western countries I don't think 3 btc would be enough as everything is too expensive.

Monthly? $1800 is more than most people make in a month, USA it would be a little low because that is not much in the US but everywhere else you should be able to live off of around $400 a week
Exactly, in every country the standard of living varies so if you are in a less developed or developed countries where commodities are cheap you will enjoy your earnings with bitcoin and even $200 or $100 a week is enough living a simple lifestyle.

Yeah I think $200 is more then enough to have a good life in developing countries, and if the price of bitcoin goes higher then the worth of $200 will be even higher.
It all depends on how your style of living if you can live simply value that much more than enough, but it would be much better if you use it to invest to make your income grow.

At current price? Well that mostly depends on your style of living,if you prefer to leave in luxury (lol everybody does) then you would need like lol 3 btc montly i guess :DD
For me 1,5-2 btc monthly would be enough... I know its really a lot but well,HIGH LIFE ISNT CHEAP :D
good luck anyway buddy ;]

It all depends on where you live and what amount you have.

For example: With the huge inflation in Argentina is sufficient even a small amount.

Honestly i dont trust xapo because i am using their wallet before and its hard to login delay sms confirmation and also they are not let costumer to log in even to confirmation is copy pasted or manually type it to log in my wallet.. so i think i dont recommend to use xapo instead coinbank if its available in there country.

Its totally depends on own requirements.

What are necessities first have to make list and get average budget for requirement. Get Fiat currency value and exchange it to BTC and that much amount of BTC you can sell or exchange to fiat currency.

I dont have a lot of bitcoins right now to be honest selling it all wouldnt guarantee me that i would never have to work anymore in my opinion i would have to make at least 2 million dollars to make a living for my whole life what means i would need something like 5 thousand bitcoins as my lifestyle.

Well that's true, 1 bitcoin in where I live is also enough for 1 month of simple living.. so probably we need bigger amount of bitcoin to sustain a living without working and just by selling bitcoin. We need to have an amount that would make us a total of 1 bitcoin ( in percentage) as an interest in one month, so it means a big amount..

If we are thinking about selling some bitcoins every month,to get payed for your life:food, house, bills etc. it would be hard to say i think.
we are not talking the way that you would make some bitcoin every day of course, but we dont know what will be the further price of btc,so it would be hard to tell
Anyway,i think that selling 0,5 btc weekly would be fairly enough for you,but i dont know your expenses to tell the truth.

yes actually you have a point there pal. Every country has difference in the standard kind of life. Some countries have expensive goods, clothing etc. than to other countries it depends on the place. If 1 BTC in your country is big or enough to make a living and in other country lets say 5 btc/month in order to have a living, theres a difference regarding to the prices.

Yes it's possible if you have lots of Bitcoin let's say you have 2000btc.. you can make a living with it. Invest 50% then 30% just hold it and the rest do trade altcoins it would give you such profit without touching your remaining bitcoins.

Its all up to needs. No can decide what are real expensive individual have.

Also need to prepare to bring that much amount of bitcoin residual to wallet so that user can spend them to make living on it.

Also have to consider inflation ratio. As few countries have very high inflation rate and few have lower inflation rate. Next is currency value.
Because every country have their own fiat currency and have certain values for exchanging them.

It is not how many you have to sell, the question should be how many do you need to make.  It depends on where you live and what you consider a living to be.  Some countries, you can be a millionaire in their country and make $2 a day and make a living.  Here in the USA, $40,000 barely makes you a living. So you need to be more direct with the question.

Bitcoin gives great platform to use them to exchange to fiat currency. As well as Bitcoin is a digital  decentralized virtual currency can be produced by mining.
So there are good option to generate bitcoin and sell them for living better life.

I personally use bitcoins to live better life by exchanging them to fiat currency even use few of services that offers bitcoin payment option.

If you were able to buy bitcoins very cheap, then of course you could sell them to make money. The problem right now is that the price is too high to buy and sell any time soon for a big profit. We can only make small amounts or hold for a few years and them maybe make some good money.

If you were able to buy bitcoins very cheap, then of course you could sell them to make money. The problem right now is that the price is too high to buy and sell any time soon for a big profit. We can only make small amounts or hold for a few years and them maybe make some good money.

I think the bitcoin price is very cheap now. In June, the price was around $780. Now, the price is only $580.

That was caused by Bitfinex's 'hack'. The price will be healed sooner or later, and we should expect a big, big increase soon.

I also believe it will happen, the hack was really something that stop the increase of bitcoin and until now we have not felt the effect of halving, in due time we can see another increase of bitcoin price so we should be ready by buying more bitcoins now.

it happen already last year and increase when the end of the was nearing so i guess we will see another rebound coming from the price so if you can buy btc by now and the price went up to 1k$ you will almost double your earnings , OP you needed a lots of bitcoin before you can rely your your daily life with it, 10-20btc might be enough if you do some trading with alt.

Thats right bitcoins price drop  because of  the bitfinex hacked funds incident which causes the price to dump. As same as he said  dont  worry since  bitcoin price would definitely healed up and gradually increase  when the times goes by. As of now  its stabilizes its price for  how many weeks already  i think its  making up  or getting ready for a price increase in the future.

Probably yes, because bitcoin is a real cash. You can earn it easily specially when you are a computerholic not computer addicted hehe. In my case I convert my bitcoin monthly and I earn 100$ per month its small but it helps me a lot to buy my needs because I am a students.

If you earn the bitcoin from this forum, that will be a very small amount. It will not be able to support life.

If that was consistent every month you can really make a living. 1btc is pretty decent amount but of course it still depend on what kind of living you have.

Is it even possible to make a living by selling bitcoins?
Back then 2013 i could really say that if im going to buy bitcoin in the year of 2005 where the bitcoin price is really cheap and wait for many years then i will sell more than 200bitcoin to make living by selling bitcoin and by trading also i want to keep my money safe i will deposit it into banks and then make business.

Instead of selling a huge sum of Bitcoins at once, you can sell it once every week. Calculate how much you spent last week and sell that much Bitcoin. Try to lessen your expenses every week, record every single thing that you buy. In this way, you'll be aware if you're already overspending.

Selling all your coins at once can lead into loss of potential earnings. You could sell now at 600$ but once the price has increased, you just lost your chance selling your coins at a higher price.

I also prefer to sell my coins step by step as selling all coins at once is never a good idea.

At the rush to nearly $800 in June I sold small amounts on the entire way up. That resulted in me having more than decent profits.

If I sold all my coins at once at a certain price level, then I wouldn't benefit from the price that goes higher and higher.

If you sell your bitcoins at once then you will no longer wait for another opportunity, I believe there are still more room for the improvement of the price of bitcoin so it is better to hold longer.

In my country selling 1 Bitcoin at the current price could make a living, but in some other poor countries even 100$ in BTC can really help people to make their living, so its depend on countries.

That is right. In the US, you need at least 3 bitcoins a month to make a good living. It is more expensive than other countries.

You would need to sell something like 0.25 bitcoins per day to make a living. Selling by itself is not practical because you would have to be wealthy to buy enough. Trading or lending are ways to make some extra money, but as always, the more you have to invest, the more money you could make.

3 bitcoins to make a living in USA everyday? is too high the cost of living there
in my country 0.1 btc is enough to make a living everyday.

in venezuela some trivial things may cost more than $100, like bubble gum or rice and stuff like that.

they have hyperinflation and not enough supply, so unless you are really rich or from the government, you'll make a living only if your concept of living doesn't evolve things like have enough food to survive etc

I'm using 0.5 btc per month to make a living. But the number of bitcoin used per month totally depends its price which can change 20% - 40% is one day.  I still regret I sold my 355 bitcoins back in 2013. My advise save your bitcoin and only spend it when its really needed.

it is possible to make a living using bitcoin, but it depends on the country you lived, in order to make a living in my country you need at least 0.4 a month for 1 person, and to get that amount you need some skill, you can get that by doing trading or offer your skills

Yeah, it is possible but I won't say that it would be easy, if your budget per person should be .4BTC amonth, then you would be needing a lot of focus doing that, bunches of works and lesser rest working on micro jobs. I think .2BTC is enough for a single person who don't have much debts and bills to pay but still considering the place where you live, in where I live, I could survive with just .2BTC a month. Lucky that I have a day job.

I'm agree with you. It's depend at the price of bitcoin, if the bitcoins' price at high price, i only need 0.07-0.1 per week. To make a living i need around 0.7-0.175 per week.
