Title: $100 USD BOUNTY: I had BTC on bitkee how to claim bitcoin cash?
Post by: pitbully2000 on August 24, 2017, 09:28:32 PM
Got my bitcoin cash from all BTC I kept on my trezor. They made it very easy. But I also had a substantial amount on and old bitkee (bip38 encrypted). After much hassle w/bip38 (my bad memory was at fault), I finally got in, exported the coins to my blockchain.info wallet,  and then moved them to my trezor. Is there anyone that can help me claim my bitcoin cash? Gladly tip $100 for your help. If nothing else...its really aggravating and making my brain itch lol

I think that your coins are in the blockchain wallet. Recovering from this Is simple. First of all, scan your address with a bitcoin cash explorer and tell me where the coins are

If you need to recover from seed, follow this tutorial:

https://blog.btc.com/your-bitcoin-cash-is-safe-with-btc-com-39b271da5692

If you need to claim your coins using a private key import them to coinomi bcc wallet.

If it don't worked, tell me

You can do all using your phone (and a piece of paper to recover seed when you create a new wallet).

The only way it could not work is if the keys in blockchain are compressed/uncompressed and coinomi read 0 bitcoincash and don't let you import the privkey.

In that case, go to bitaddress.org (use it offline for a better security) , put your priv keys in the wallet details tab and export both the given priv key (compressed and uncompressed) to coinomi, one will work

Right on! bitcoin cash explorer says they are there! Now, if you could...can you tell me (in simple terms, pardon an old man his ignorance) how to send them to my trezor. OR, since I want to convert them to BTC anyways, how to send them to hitbtc (I can figure it out from there) and THANKS AGAIN! I'll make it $150 due to your kindness and timely response  ;D

They are in blockchain, but the site still don't support btc. So you have to follow the step I posted before.

Do you have a 12 world recover seed or was this address an imported address, and so you could have not seed but private key? (You can find privkey if you click "export address" in settings,)

The public key won't help me. Needless to say never share your private key with anyone, I can help you but you need to do it yourself.

Otherwise you can give my your privkey and I will do it all, I won't scam you but I won't recommend this without escrow

Really simple!
Download coinomi on your phone.
Add bcc to coinomi
Click "import address
Type your private key.

In blockchain ur priv keys are under setting---address---manage address----export address or something like that

If it still don't work because coinomi see 0 bcc on the address, look up about bitaddress.org

Ok, I feel really dumb now, all I can find is IMported addresses (on blockchain.info wallet) and it's the public key? Can't find anything else (under imported addresses)

Hey buddy...
I know youre sleeping so obviously no need for quick reply. I've spent ankther couple hrs trying to figure this out. Driving me nuts. And to be honest...even if was only worth  $20, id still be goijg nuts lol. Hate asking for help. Make me feel dumb. Anyways, I'm in studio  (I'm a musician) tomorrow from 3-6 central time. I will try to get to you before I leave. Seems that since I transferred the btc from bitkee, to blockchain.info wallet, to trezor safe. The problem SEEMS to lie in the fact that I can't get private key from trezor safe, grrr. The public key shows the bitcoin cash still in blockchain wallet...but I mist just be dumb. Can't get it figured. Bounty still stands. Would prefer to be able to do it myself vs trusting btctalk pms. Looked up your screen name and you certainly seem to be a righteous guy...im willing to trust YOU if need be, but I sure would like to know I figured it myself w/some help vs just sent it off to you.
Anyways, I'll ttya asap. Want to thank you again for the help you already gave me!
K...im probably just blathering now lol. I'll ttya 2morrow if possible. Thanks a TON!

Let me clear it:

- if your blockchain.info wallet is an imported operative address (you can send money from blockchain.info) , you can find the key on blockchain (see previous post with the image)

- if your blockchain.info is a "view only" wallet, and you can't use it without Trezor, keys are on Trezor, and you have to follow this guide: https://trezor.io/claim-bch/

Let me know how it's going, I will be at work but I will refresh from time to time. Will be @ home from roughly 5 PM CEST, if not already resolved we will sort is out. It's a matter of principle now.

Hi,
I'm here now. Did you sorted this out? Are the money on blockchain.info imported address or on Trezor?

If blockchain doesn't have your private key, you should see a "view only" tag.

Ok. The money are in the address, we will sort it out.

First be sure that your blockchain address is not already archived, if so you have to unarchive it first and then you can export private key.

If not, I suspect this is a view only address and keys are still in Trezor. Is it updated? Are you using the beta wallet? Try to strictly follow this guide:

https://blog.trezor.io/claim-bcash-bitcoin-cash-bch-bcc-trezor-wallet-f0a810d5864a

Sadly I have not a trezor

Got my bitcoin cash from all BTC I kept on my trezor. They made it very easy. But I also had a substantial amount on and old bitkee (bip38 encrypted). After much hassle w/bip38 (my bad memory was at fault), I finally got in, exported the coins to my blockchain.info wallet,  and then moved them to my trezor. Is there anyone that can help me claim my bitcoin cash? Gladly tip $100 for your help. If nothing else...its really aggravating and making my brain itch lol

I carefully re-read this

DO YOU HAVE THE BITKEE UNENCRYPTED PRIVATE KEY?

If so it's resolved! Import it in coinomi

0 BTC   More Options

I agree with 3rd post in this thread. I did it same way using coinomi.
In simple steps:
1 - Get rid of the BTC on given address ( this just to be sure when something goes wrong you are going to lose only BCH) by sending them to some your other wallets.
2 - Export the privatekey ( from the NOW empty address)
3 - Import the private key to any BCH supporting wallet (like coinomi)

The above mentioned address has no BCH on it. Why are you importing it? From what I have read you should be importing the bitkee address ( which IMO has the BCH ).

EDIT. Sorry, just notice the addy has BCH. (I have copied it with the watch at the end).
So is seems your only problem is how to extract the privetkey from bitkee. Their FAQ should help.

I do have the private bitkee but it is encrypted...

How did you export the coins to blockchain without decrypting it?

Use bitaddress.org to decrypt your privkey with passphrase

also, just followed the guide for trezor, seems all I did was send some btc to myself? was afraid to send more than $200 because I didn't want to screw up w 11BTC, so I sent a portion. Now it says this:

TODAY 11.24725619 BTC
Sent to myself

AH HA! I DID IT!!!! WOO HOO
I went to bitaddress.org, unplugged my internet, found "wallet details" typed my encrypted pivkey, then it asked for passphrase, I typed that in and got  a printout of various addresses and qr codes!
I'm assuming one of these is the privkey (unencrypted) that I need?
PLEASE give me about half an hour to decompress my brain...I will be back shortly...almost done buddy (I think). You TRULY earned your bounty hahahaha. gonna go relax for a min and go to the bathroom!

I think that you really did it :)

You should have 2 unencrypted private keys, one compressed and one uncompressed. Import both in coinomi bcc wallet, one of them will work. Beware to not confuse btc for bcc and vice-versa.

You can find my btc and bcc addresses in my prevoius post in the first page. Take your time, let me know when it's done. Really glad that we made it :)

Import private key wif uncompressed. If it don't work, import the compressed. You then have to wait 1 confirmation and you will have coins in your new bcc address. All you wrote is right.

Send me btc or bcc or a mix of both, whatever you feel more comfortable to. With coinomi sending bcc is really simple.

AAARRRGGGHHHHH
I scanned the uncompressed WIF. It said "sweeping paper wallet", but balance is 0.00BCH
So I scanned the compressed WIF. It says contains no funds!
Am I just waiting for confirmations? Or did I do something wrong?

On explorer seems like the money are still in the same address. You Can't see anything in incoming tx?

EDIT: THIS IS OK. YOU ARE IMPORTING NOT CREATING A TX. TRY TO REFRESH COINOMI

Coinomi won't let you import an address if the balance is 0 bcc, so the first priv key should have worked.... maybe try to re-do it, the last chance is that you didn't press a "confirm" button or something like that.

Bcc blocks are designed to be 10 min, but currently there is lot of instability because miners are switching chains

I would expect this ending up with some sort of "unknown key format" message. Incidentally I'm going to sweep some BCH soon as well. Will let you know how it should work step by step.

EDIT:

1 - Go to balance tab. Hit the options. Sweep wallet.
2 - Enter prv. key (scan or paste)
3- Hit next.
4- You should see message About amount which will be transacted and how much is the fee.
5- Confirm.

That's it.I just did it with exported key from electrum and works fine ( waiting confirmation right now).

from the "balance" tab, I used the scan button, scanned the WIF and it showed me  the addy and then I clicked the "next" button. It looked like it was working and said it was sweeping paper wallet...then...nothing  GRRR

I now remember that I read somewhere that the qr import was not properly working for coinomy. Try copy paste or manually. I know it is a hassle but I really remember this

Ok, thanks buddy! I'm losing my mind over this lol. I'm gonna try following your instructions. Should I be using electrum vs coinomi? (I have NO experience w/aany of them othere than blockchain.info wallet and my trezor safe. Wish I would have NEVER bought the bitkee. Grrr

No. There should be no difference in what wallet you have used so far. In principle all are same. You need private key to be able to send coins from corresponding address. But apparently starts to be complicated when more private key formats are being used.
I start to feel there has to be issue with coinomi when importing WIF format (but I have not heard about any so far ... you are the first).

from the "balance" tab, I used the scan button, scanned the WIF and it showed me  the addy and then I clicked the "next" button. It looked like it was working and said it was sweeping paper wallet...then...nothing  GRRR

This is where the error is IMO.
After hitting the "next" button appears a message about amount and fee (in my case). So if you did not see message there is something wrong with private key. As Erre pointed the scan might not worked properly ( but I would expect some warning/error message in such case ) ???
Have you tried the manual enter ( or copy paste text)?

On explorer seems like the money are still in the same address. You Can't see anything in incoming tx?

EDIT: THIS IS OK. YOU ARE IMPORTING NOT CREATING A TX. TRY TO REFRESH COINOMI

Coinomi won't let you import an address if the balance is 0 bcc, so the first priv key should have worked.... maybe try to re-do it, the last chance is that you didn't press a "confirm" button or something like that.

Bcc blocks are designed to be 10 min, but currently there is lot of instability because miners are switching chains

I think he is sweeping. Thus there should be tx.
@OP - Before actual confirmation of the sweep you should get message about how many BCH going to be sweeped in. Have you seen such message?

No, I did NOT get a message about how many will be swept, just that it IS sweeping paper wallet

yes...scanned, went to "sweep wallet" and entered private WIF key...same result:
told me "loading balance" and "creating transaction" but never showed me a balance or fees and just bounces me back to balance screen w/nothing but "height" (dont even know what that means)
 ANYTHING else I should try?

OK...
I'm losing what's left of my mind now. Gonna take a break, later, I'll reinstall coinomi and do the manual typing (I found the same article about their scanning not being able to distinguish the ambiguity of BTC vs BCH or whatever it says. If I get it, I'll send you your BTC...if not...yeah, I'll bug you some more tomorrow. Thanks a TON for all your help ERRE...and the rest of you who tried to help as well...thanks all. Havew a good one :) ;D :) ;)

Splitting your Bitcoins in TREZOR

Due to only having a week to prepare for the launch of the final version of Bcash code, Trezor’s wallet does not currently support BCH (although they’re working on a fix). It is however possible to use an online tool by TREZOR in order to split your BCH and simultaneously send it to a BCH address.

Thoroughly review Trezor’s guide to this process and check their Twitter and subreddit for any updates. Sometimes the tool is offline and recently some bugs were found in it.

Step 1 – Visit the beta version of Trezor wallet. You should use Google Chrome to access the wallet; the author was unable to complete the process using Firefox or a clean install thereof.

Make sure that you’re on the beta site: https://beta-wallet.trezor.io

The reason for visiting the beta Trezor wallet is that it enables you to update your Trezor’s firmware to the latest, beta version (1.5.1). Particularly if you haven’t performed this process before, you should study Trezor’s guide to firmware updates.

Step 2 – Be certain you have a backup of your seed phrase and update your firmware. This is done as follows:
disconnect the device
plug it in while holding both device buttons pressed

Step 3 –  Go to the Coin Splitting Tool. Click on “Connect with TREZOR”. Reconnect your device and enter the PIN as usual.

Step 4 – Select the account you want to split BCH from and enter an address to send the BCH to. It is possible to enter the exchange funding address directly in this stage (see below how to get a deposit address for HitBTC).

Good morning my friend :)

This is becoming an epic adventure, although a bit frustrating.

Let's recap it:

- You had some (a lot of) money in encrypted hard wallet
- You managed to transfer btc to 1PShvoNo6o2DAHHAuveBx7GDttUb2d7QXu using blockchain, so we are sure you know the right password
- Your bcc are still in the original address, because you only transferred btc
- Seemed like you didn't import privkey to blockchain.info, but only used it to make a tx

Finally we managed to use bitaddress.org to decrypt your private key, and you printed it. You should then have a print with 4 QR codes:

-2 are your address compressed and uncompressed. One of them have to be 155HLTxjDXfgcyBeDUviGj5QGSAVnJdZHQ , double check this, or you didn't decrypt well the key
-2 are the wif priv keys, compressed (start with a "k" or "l", 52 characters) and uncompressed (start with a "5", 51 characters)

Double check this is all right. If it is, try to import both private keys copy-pasting or manually digiting it in coinomi. To do it you have to:

-create bcc wallet in coinomi
-click "import paper wallet
-insert the private key
-click next
- You should see a message with your balance and the tx , and then click confirm.

I can't  understand why it should be not working, but if you double checked all I wrote is right we can try a different wallet from coinomi.

I will NOT suggest to use electron cash, because I saw many flags about it. Better download ABC wallet. But first try again with coinomi because it should work.

Eagerly waiting for updates :)

Did all tbis...alreqdy claimed coin from my trezor using beta. I had some coin on a bitkee and I moved them to trezor and am.now trying to clim my bitcoin cash for those. Trouble is trezor split tool only work while in "bitcoin cash" mode...if that makes sensr...thanls for the info though.

One of the priv qts  (compressed WIF) says no funds in wallet. The other (uncompressed WIF) seems like it starts the process, but then just bounces me back to balance tab.
I uninstalled and redownloaded coinomi...kept all recovery info. Same thing. I type manually, same thing. Grrr

Ok. You have the address and the corresponding priv key, that's no way you lost your money. Yesterday I used coinomi to transfer some ether and seemed pretty buggy, It bounced me back to balance and when it finally show the tx I found I transfer my 0.1 three times instead of one.

Don't worry, I don't feel u are stupid, we are somewhat pioneers and we have to help each other. At this point, I would suggest change wallet. Besides coinomi, I know electron cash and the ABC wallet.

Electron cash would be faster, but I read many people who said it didn't work or stole their money, could be that there are malicious version and the original version is ok but as now I cannot vouch for it.

With ABC wallet you have to synch it and it would be painfully slower, but more secure.

The last alternative i can think of, you can give me your priv key and I will try to import in coinomi, I will never scam you and immediately delete it if it don't work, but obviously I don't suggest this solution, as it would require to trust a stranger for pretty a shitload of money.

Really though, from millions to tens of BILLIONS! 😁. Think my buy average is around 125 USD.  Tried daytrading. Far to much stress.  Anyways, I'll get on it w/in the hour and get back to you soon. You're awesome.for all the help...and I appreciate the kind words! Always been the guy who MUST " get to the bottom.of things" 😉. Now that I NEED that trait...i gotta reach out. Grrr. Yes, don't download  qt and abc on the same machine unless you use a partiton or something like that. After that, you have to download the whole Chain.
I just noted that coinomi support  bip38, did you try to insert the encrypted key and then the pass in coinomi? I really can't understand why it isn't working, besides some bug

I actually did that last night. Got out of bed to try it lol. Realized that it said it worked w/bip38 so I scanned and typed my  (long) passphrase. Had my wife do it the 2nd time just because I thought she might catch something I was overlooking. But same result, looks like it's starting the process...even says creating transaction, but then bumps me back to the (empty) balance tab grrr

Thanks...i WILL get this, eventually, somehow. Even if i have to givd up my privkey, would hope youre good to your word, also, i can just swap for a new one as soon as you were done grabbing my bitcoinncash anyways, right? Otherwise, I'm waiting the hours it'll take to finish getting this ABC wallet setup. Thanks again and again and again.

I did dump all my bcc under 0.1...i advice you that I'm not a good trader at all, but I think bcc has no future, i consider it mainly a marketing operation to push segwit 2x, and i think that actual buying pressure is artificial. But seems like you have way more bcc than me, i would consider dumping a part (i.e. 70-80%) and wait till November to see what happens. Would not hold more than 30%, but that's just my opinion.

Give me any tip you want, really, I would had help you for a lot less or even for free, this forum was made for things like this. I don't exactly know ABC wallet, but I suppose that you can import your privkey now, and you will start to see your address with 0 balance. That would be just fine, when the wallet becomes synched with the blocks containing the tx of your incoming bitcoins you will see bcc balance.
But I just suppose so, it could be you have to be synched to the 1st August blocks to see the balance.

I just read through 5 pages, all the time expecting you'd have solved it by now. Guess not!

Let me summarize:
155HLTxjDXfgcyBeDUviGj5QGSAVnJdZHQWatch Only
This is the address of your bitkee (a Metal Bitcoin Wallet): 155HLTxjDXfgcyBeDUviGj5QGSAVnJdZHQ (https://blockchain.info/address/155HLTxjDXfgcyBeDUviGj5QGSAVnJdZHQ) and you moved your 11 BTC to this address on your Trezor: 1PShvoNo6o2DAHHAuveBx7GDttUb2d7QXu (https://blockchain.info/address/1PShvoNo6o2DAHHAuveBx7GDttUb2d7QXu).

Although you missed out on very nice airdrops (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1871502) in the past months, you can indeed still claim your Bitcoin Cash as your Bitcoins were on your bitkee during the August 1 fork.

https://www.bitcoincash.org/ sends me to blockdozer as an explorer, and indeed, your address 155HLTxjDXfgcyBeDUviGj5QGSAVnJdZHQ (http://blockdozer.com/insight/address/155HLTxjDXfgcyBeDUviGj5QGSAVnJdZHQ) still contains 11 Bitcoin Cash (worth about $6700 or 1.52 BTC).
So far everything is okay :)

What I'm not sure about, is what you want to do with your Bitcoin Cash. Let's assume you want to sell them for Bitcoin, do you already have an exchange in mind, or do you want to use Shapeshift.io to exchange your Bitcoin Cash for Bitcoin and send it directly to your Trezor: 1PShvoNo6o2DAHHAuveBx7GDttUb2d7QXu (https://blockchain.info/address/1PShvoNo6o2DAHHAuveBx7GDttUb2d7QXu) (or a new address on your Trezor)?

I have no experience with Coinomi, but it seems you couldn't get that to work either. I am very familiar with handling private keys, and this is what I did with my Bitcoin Cash: I installed Electron Cash in a Linux Virtual Machine, imported my private key, and sent my Bitcoin Cash to my exchange Bittrex.com. From there I converted it to Bitcoin.
To be complete, I want to say that Electron Cash is debated and not trusted (see Aug 1 summar (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2059111.0)), although I haven't read about any confirmed problems. If you go for Electron Cash, make sure to download it via bitcoincash.org .

Ok...downloading. says it need couple hundred gigs...this will take awhile...
What are you downloading now? The Bitcoin Cash full-client ABC wallet including a full blockchain?

I can't believe something this simple filled 5 pages and 3 days :D

I don't exactly know ABC wallet, but I suppose that you can import your privkey now, and you will start to see your address with 0 balance. That would be just fine, when the wallet becomes synched with the blocks containing the tx of your incoming bitcoins you will see bcc balance.
But I just suppose so, it could be you have to be synched to the 1st August blocks to see the balance.

EXTREMELY kind of you ERRE! But I firmly believe in paying what's right! You've spent a considerable mount of your time (the most valuable commodity, as you canr ever get it back 😉) and I'd like to show my appreciation! Thanks gain....im gonna wait for it to synch before I start messing around. Gonna try and reply just play this one by the #s so I don't miss something by being impatient. Thanks buddy...will update you while you sleep lol.

You summarized it perfectly! I have already climes bcc from trezor. They made it very easy. But trying to get this done AFTER I pulled my coin from a bitkee, to blockchain wallet, and now trying to use coinomi, it seems like it's trying to start transaction, but in the end it just bounces me.back to balance tab w/no balance.
When I split using trezor splitter, I sent it to hitbtc and did the swap from bcc to btc from there. I'm not familiar w/Linux  (I've worked w/Ubuntu a LITTLE bit a couple years ago, but certainly not fluent)

As far as "What are you downloading now? The Bitcoin Cash full-client ABC wallet including a full blockchain?"
The answer is yes! About 25% done now...much faster than when I loaded the entire chain years ago...may be bigger, but apparently, my internet speed is even faster still lol

And yeah...3 days...5 pages...excessive I know, but just so maddening. Nice to know there are people like we're and yourself even willing to give a stranger a hand 😁😁😁

Also...if I can't get this working  (ABC). I will attempt to follow your instructions : , I want to say that Electron Cash is debated and not trusted (see Aug 1 summar (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2059111.0)), although I haven't read about any confirmed problems.  Thanks for another possible solution...

IT WORKED!!!
Not the ABC or any of the other suggestions. I did the same thing I've done many times before, I added BTC to the coinomi wallet (I did this the 1st 3x, so wasn't anything new) and on a whim, I re-scanned...all the sudden...ALL GOOD! Waiting for confirmations right now! SOOOO happy!
You guys were all awesome, but ERRE...you certainly went above and beyond, and didn't even CARE about the bounty! You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar!
Everyone else...way awesome of you to try and help a stranger....my f***ing HEROES!
If any of you happen to listen to "heavy" music..gimme a shout, love to turn you onto some of my "day-job" work, we just got signed by an extremely reputable label (distrubution by SONY). And I'd LOVE to share some of our material w/all of you!
THANKSS AGAIN AND AGAIN...EVERYBODY!
 :) :) :) ;D ;D ;D ;D :D :D :D :D 8) 8) 8) 8)

@ Wusolini -
You, my bro, have been awesome as well! Just saw your PM offering the other help! wanted to thank you again personally as well!
If, in fact, you DO listen to "heavy music" lemme know and I'll send you some tunes/merchandise. We just got signed to a major label (inked the contract last week) and would love to send you a little something for trying to help! Even if my music isn't your cup of tea...maybe you know someone who will enjoy?
 THANK YOU!
 ;D ;D ;D

Not to statt a whole other thing...but...if you were me, would you keep the BBC, or swap out for BTC? Or...would you just take the money and run? Just curious...

I tend to agree w/everything you just said. Wish I had been more on top of things...but not a terrible rate now...if I can get my hands on em lol. One last dumb question....after ABC synch up...will this be surefire way? Anything special I need to know (I ask because I know you'll be snoring by the time this is finished) 😁

Coins received, thank you very much  :)

I'm glad that you resolved, and  glad that coinomi finally worked, because I really couldn't understand why it wasn't!

Keep rocking!
