Which is more profitable in the long run, Crypto trading or online betting ?

Definitely Online trading, if you trade conservatively. Always try to reach a ROI with your trading investment first, before you expand into more unknown Alt coins that might look promising. Both are a gamble if you do not do proper research on the Alt coins that you are planning to invest in.

Your best bet, will be to start with coins like Bitcoin, LiteCoin and Ethereum for now. ^smile^

Trading anyday. You might get lucky once or twice if you bet online. But there is way more probability of losing your money and getting addicted and losing more. Its a risky gamble.

Since you mentioned 2K budget you can split into 1K for Holding and 1K for trading. Invest some money in promising ICO's. This is sure to get you some nice profits. And now is a good time since the prices are low. Like mentioned above Hodl some good Alts like NEO, XRB, ARK, ICX etc etc. Do your own research.

Also while trading don't simply put your money in some shitcoins. Make yourself thorough with some Alts and be updated with the current news so you know which coins are sure to go up.

if you don't know what you are doing then your trading is going to be like betting too and you lose the same amount of money in both of them. maybe even more in trading since the altcoin dumps are sometimes big and fast.

but if you learn it and know what you are doing in trading, then it is not even correct to compare trading and gambling because gambling is pure luck and you will definitely end up losing in the long term because of things such as house edge but in trading you will make money even if you lose a couple of times.

Well considering that online betting is often on 'rigged through coding' servers, you should probably go with trading.   

If it's long-term, Crypto Trading is the chooice. With trading you can analyze the profit in accordance with what you expect. But keep in mind! In a way, they're both gambling. However, it just makes a lot more sense to stick with crypto trading because there's a lot more that you can do with crypto trading in comparison to betting. Well,Online betting is more profitable but the losing percentage in gambling is 80% so be ready for lose your investment at any time.In trading you can make money only if you have trading skills or else you will lose the money in trading too.But gambling is the most profitable between these two. :)

Make an account at an alt exchange like livecoin, and only trade coins you actually have (don't bother with margin trading/borrowing). I am sure that trading can be better than betting especially in the long run. all the popular trading sites that I have seen so far have a "provably fair" system implemented which is also audited by those who understand it and if they pull anything it will become public so fast. so I doubt that there are many "rigged" gambling sites that can stay alive for long.

besides they don't need to rig it! there is a house edge which helps the house to always win and also the gamblers mentality which means the gamblers will lose in the long time and there are lots of them.

I don't think online betting should be part of choices if you are pertaining for a profitable activity because it is consider to be gambling and as you know gambling is a 50:50 chance of either win or lose so if you are looking for a profitable stuff better do crypto trading and investment, at least you could have a higher chance to earn especially if it is for long term holding.

For short term, gambling. For long term, of course you'll gain more with crypto trading. It's really easy to x2, x3, x5 if you are patient and acquire some experience. I saw a post about day-trading, yes you can win a lot with day-trading (even 2%/day is a very good profit), but I don't recommand that if you're a newcommer because it's the best way to lose practically like gambling if you don't have any knowledge. I think you should join the commercial crypto because it will help you get better returns if you understand the market and grasp its volatility. Gambling is a lucky game, and if you have been thinking about long-term investment then you can not gamble. Consider and choose your long-term direction in the cryptocurrency market.

Between the two choices I suggest you pick trading. In gambling/betting,  you don't have assurance of winning no matter what strategy you have, you wouldn't know your luck there. First thing is that Trading is always better than betting, secondly if you have an account on binance or cex.io than you can do the trading a lot easier way with just a simple know how about the market. These two platforms allow you to set the target once you want to sell the currencies or even exchange, so its more like a betting in trading. Gambling is never been a clever choice when we do really aim for long term income because this is not really possible thru betting but only on doing trading. If you go with online betting, I'm pretty sure that you will löse 100% of your whole budget and you won't be able to recover that loss by going in betting. You need to start trading. At least, you won't lose the whole part of the budget.

Crypto trading for me is profitable in the long run. But its not be a easy journey to begin with. You will find threads bitching out that after a year in crypto they are still not earning as they wanted to be. It could be that they are not that adept or enough knowledge about  the subject because its really tricky for beginners. I advise you to take some time to read the tips of the experts here and just try small amounts and see how it goes for you.

I believe and believe, better trading than betting, because if the betting is once the order but in terms of selling it does not fit then all your money will run out. different from trading, if your trading money will not be exhausted when not fit only its estimation is reduced only, but when your coin rise again then you're lucky.

Crypto trading has less risk than online betting because crypto trading give opportunity to make profit by probabilitas maximum 70% but online betting can be just about 40%. everyone already knows this. Small risk can indeed be caught by trading crypto. but do you know if gambling can cost up to 400%? can be an advantage if you know the stages that must be learned in gambling.

In general, it is certain that cryptocurrency trading is better. But If you do not have a good knowledge in this field, then you cannot gain what you want (money). Indeed but still carries bigger risks than the crypto trading method. When it comes to betting which is nothing but sort of gambling then it is all about the unknowns and probabilities ! In case of trading however, you get the lead by having some fundamental and technical data to asses the situation of your trades so that you can always carry out metrics of going up and down of your portfolio. This way can lead to higher profits and less loss as compared to gambling on your luck. The betting stuff always carries huge risk due to its nature of working model - unknown!

I would go for Crypto Trading if I have a spare $2,000 USD. I know that in online betting, you have at least a guide on which one have more chances of winning because you can tell by looking at the odds, but still the risk and returns are not worth it. Example is during the NBA finals, if you place $100 USD on Golden State Warriors against Cavs, you'll gain only $8 USD as the odds are -1220 for GSW. However, tables might turn during the game and Cavs may have pulled a win, after the game, your money is gone. Unlike Crypto Trading, if your investment is down by 5%, just HODL on to it and wait for the right tome to Sell it with profits.

Who would not even want to go for something more interesting, that once you learn pretty well and good at it, can set you up for life, but I guess some people just would not get it as they are just so bound on doing things that would end up ruining the amount they could have saved up because the question the OP asked is not even one that should be asked in the first place.

It is more like seeing wealth and poverty, then deciding to go for poverty. Who does that ? Probably some may choose that out of rush but after some period of time sustaining with that will come to the the reality of their stupid decision. Crypto trading has  a lot of parameters that control it , and if you're smart enough to / ballsy enough to purchase a load of coins now you'll have high chances to see your wallet stacking with money in a few months .
Whether with betting , you may see constant decrease of your money without any other replacement , and that's what you get if you let the fate of your money controlled by something that you can't have any control over and that can be totally random . Online betting will just make you go through a lot of pain and frustration in case you loose your money and there's no 2nd chances for that , and you really need a huge chunk of luck to make a good profit out of gambling with exploiting some spectacular opportunities that may not present themselves at all or that you might not even consider them for being too good to be true and have them pass just under your nose while seeing your bankroll decrease every day ..

I leave it to the person who has been an experience gambler and trader to choose but in my own opinion and based on the years of experience crypto trading is much better and can make you more than double profit not only that fast earning and fast losing as gambling.

Iam not famiiar with online betting and i think this is like gambling, i prefer to chooce crypto trading that we can manage the risk by make some management of money and risk like use the stop loss and trailling stop on every trade. Online betting is more like getting luck on your side because there isnt a strategy or plan involve. But with crpto trading there is a clear direction of how you will be doing with your investment. I think crypto is more safe than online betting.

If I have $2,000 then I will invest into 10 POS coins like $200 each. Waves must be one of them. I believe into holding and staking rather than trying to trading nor betting. In my experience both trading and betting are same. We never be sure about making money even we have all the required skills.

It depends on your level of risk and how much insider information you acquire.

Good idea if you are well aware about PoS project then staking and waiting for earnings can be much better than trading and gambling, where your money really at risk each time you place your picks, but it's always depend from one peoples understanding, if OP love taking risk then gambling is the best place to go, choose one then wait right after for the result, if you are lucky then you will gain but if you are unlucky then face the consequence, OP maybe looking for encouragement so he's asking for the best place to place his money.

Cryptotrading is sort of online betting too. You basically bet on a price will go up or down. Imo crypto might be way more profitable if you know what you are doing.

I think you better invest in crypto because you will not lose and will get a profit in comparison with online gambling.

BEFORE you trade you need to LEARN how to trade... It can take years to become a good and consistently profitable trader.

You will need to learn about candlesticks/patterns, charting, technical analysis and indicators, margin and leverage trading.

I would suggest starting trading with £$100 maximum to test the waters as well as trial and error.

If its cryptos you want to trade, id suggest an exchange that lets you margin trade so you can attemt to make money if the price rises or goes down..

You can also look at CFD stock trading, which can be profitable as it allows you to trade with leverage.

Of course crypto trading is better option to use your money. If you can trade properly by your 2000$, I am sure you can gain a huge number of profit from. On the other hand, Online Betting is more risky then crypto trading.

Honestly 2k is quite small for trading and betting is quite risky. Why I say investing and not trading. Well because I think you will do much better if you make a position and wait 3 - 5 years before selling. Wait for new bull market to unwind, and try to sell when there is euphoria and everybody is calling BTC to go to 1M... this way you will probably earn more than if you actually regularly trade, but most of all you will stress less, and you will have plenty of time for your everyday things.

What a tough question. I am now engaged in both topics. And in every field I lost money at the start. But now I consistently make a profit. I can not even really say what is more difficult. Betting is much easier to understand and start earning, if there is at least one discipline in which you understand. But in trading, it is much easier to insure your transactions and work on the system, constantly making profits over long distances. I would still say that trading is safer than betting, but it’s harder to understand from the point of view of a beginner.

But, I do not think it will be hard for the capital of 2k dollars for the OP's case. Definitely anyone could go for full fledged diversification with that capital to ensure some decent profits even in short term itself. In long term, 2k dollars may grow to 4k dollars too if the right opportunities are identified.

You normally look at the return and the risk in the investment. In my opinion, investment in Bitcoin might make you financially much stronger than online betting. Better go for the option that interests you.

It is upto what type of knowledge you have if you have crypto trading knowledge then you can go for it, if you have online betting sports knowledge then go for it, If you have both knowledge then split your investment in both and try it , where you get more profit workout it and go according to it.

Surely the answer is trading. gambling has a huge risk and I think gambling is only for people who have high luck, so they can make long-term profits. trading is where you have to predict market movements, this is purely how your skills in analyzing and making strategies, talking about trading risk is also a big risk if you don't really understand crypto.

2k usd is a huge amount but to some people this may look small especially if they are rich  . if you can afford it to loose then go gambling because there is a slight possibility that you can double it instantly  but if you value your money youd better go on crypto trading .  trading is less riskier but its a bit harder for beginners  . the profit that you can get isnt also instant not unlike to gambling  .

Well IMO exchanges are pretty safe (Ie. Poloniex and Bitfinex) as far as you trust the exchange... For gambling sites it depends on the site, you'd have to review (or check reviews about) each. As for earnings, think about 4%/year. Variance in gambling sites can make you wait at least a month or more before seeing profits (just like the luck in mining), and you will see constant loses / winnings as the players win and lose. In the long run you will earn, otherwise the site would shutdown (the house cannot always lose!). Again its not much but quite safe, if in doubt just diversify and don't put all your eggs in the same basket, and DO wait a few months once you commit (yes its slow and boring, compared to trading) to see (good) results.

But trading is less risk compared to the online betting because you can lose in one roll. But in trading you can lose only slightly or longtime not in shortime. The OP is weighing is options whether to trade or gamble with that $2K budget. As a fellow gambler though, I wouldn't advise to go full gambling with that $2K, that's a lot of money to begin with. Much better if the OP go on trading with small amounts, just to get a feel of how the market operates and if he likes it then definitely he can slowly increasing his capital. But he has to take note of the high risk factor though, he can even lose it everything in just a couple of months because of the unpredictable price fluctuations, so just be cautious as well.

I do'nt usually advice both of cryto trading and online betting for a newbie. But if you just want to gain experience or you already had enough knowledge for the both of them then choose crypto trading. Trading is far better than gambling and the only thing you might needs is trading's skills. Bitcoin trading has made many people rich because of how volatile it is and we also have many traders that have lost money because of impatient.
In online betting, you need to be extremely lucky to be able to win.
