You are right in one thing: trading (shortterm) and betting are similar activities. But there is also a big difference:
On betting you will loose on long run. Why? Let's take the dice game. If it would be without house edge, our chance to win would be 50% to win. On longrun you would not win or loose. But you have to calculate the house edge, that is between around 1% to 3%. So your chance to win is only 47% to 49%. The best chance on betting would be to bet on games with strategy elements like multihand blackjack, poker or sports betting. But you only can lower the house edge.
Trading on cryptocurrencies (not on brokers) doesn't imply a secure loss, because you buy the cryptos and have them in your pocket. Cryptocurrencies , although we have a drop right now, still tend to go upward because of growing popularity. If you don't waste your funds on daytrading (just try that with very little funds f.e. 10$) you can gain big profits. Build up a solid portfolio with the majority of your funds with well established cryptocurrencies like BTC, Monero, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Dash and invest around 25% into serious ICOs. Make a deep research. The best would be to find projects, that connect traditional services/trades/shops with crypto technologies.

With betting you are bound to lose your money because you don't have any control over your chances of winning even if you play a 1000 games, it is all just luck, so i suggest you stay away from it, cryptocurrency on the other hand, is more profitable, tow you are the one who control wether you win or lose, your decision making is the only thing that gets the money here not luck, and even if you mess up you can always walk away with your money, unlike betting, when you lose you walk away empty handed. |

The answer is easy and depends of yours perspectives: For short term, gambling. Maybe you'll lose even in short term, but it doesn't require any knowledge, you don't have to spare time to learn and understand cryptocurrencies mecanisms, everything is about luck. Never trust sellers who claims "strategy to win on the betting game!"... In fact, bitcoin gambling game are more fair than real life casinos. For long term, of course you'll gain more with crypto trading. It's really easy to x2, x3, x5 if you are patient and acquire some experience. I saw a post about day-trading, yes you can win a lot with day-trading (even 2%/day is a very good profit), but I don't recommand that if you're a newcommer because it's the best way to lose practically like gambling if you don't have any knowledge. Take your time, and read the forum to start your story. PS: For your 2k USD, you can bet 200 USD, who knows, maybe you'll gain 2 other K!  |

I think you should join the commercial crypto because it will help you get better returns if you understand the market and grasp its volatility. Gambling is a lucky game, and if you have been thinking about long-term investment then you can not gamble. Consider and choose your long-term direction in the cryptocurrency market.

Between the two choices I suggest you pick trading. In gambling/betting, you don't have assurance of winning no matter what strategy you have, you wouldn't know your luck there. But in trading you cane earn day by day jusy learn the movement of th crypto then you will have sire earnings even in a little amount.

They are both risky because you will both gamble your money in crypto trading and online betting. In crypto trading you can get profit in the long run if you buy the right coins. In gambling, almost all of gamblers cannot succeed in gambling so its not recommended in making your money grow. |

Use Binance and CEX.io trading platforms as you begin, they're trusted and have low fees. First thing is that Trading is always better than betting, secondly if you have an account on binance or cex.io than you can do the trading a lot easier way with just a simple know how about the market. These two platforms allow you to set the target once you want to sell the currencies or even exchange, so its more like a betting in trading. Whatever you choose, initially you will loose a bit and then gain. |

Of course trading is much better and profitable then online betting. For me trading for midterm is the most profitable wotk I even done. But I spent a lot of time to learn how to trade and it is not for the weak-hearted.

If you go with online betting, I'm pretty sure that you will löse 100% of your whole budget and you won't be able to recover that loss by going in betting. You need to start trading. At least, you won't lose the whole part of the budget. |

You really out of your mind? You will eventually lose everything if you are going to go for online betting. So your question is very easy to answer mate. Although I assume that you are fairly new that's why I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Crypto trading for me is profitable in the long run. But its not be a easy journey to begin with. You will find threads bitching out that after a year in crypto they are still not earning as they wanted to be. It could be that they are not that adept or enough knowledge about the subject because its really tricky for beginners. I advise you to take some time to read the tips of the experts here and just try small amounts and see how it goes for you. |

online betting? you mean gambling ? yes ? ok okay so here , gambling fastest way to get profit like super fast but. . . super risky too. once you lose then you lose, no more crypto trading requires patience and determination =) you might not earn so fast but there's always a profit your options of comparing can't be compared |

online bets just luck no analysis, should be avoided. it's probably an easy way to earn money, but it's not worth the risk we get. yes your money will be lost, not just capital but all your property will be lost. The bet will make you poor. |

Having a 2K usd budget, as a starting capital requires a good strategy to utilized properly this fund. And I think online betting is not advisable, because as a starting funds, you are risking it for a luck or such a failure to the whole amount, while in trading i think it is more profitable to do than online betting.

Trading without proper knowledge is not that different from gambling or online betting.
