I don't know much about gold market, where can I find a comparative of price/rate/exchange ?

Im not entirely sure if I get what you are asking, but I guess you would like to compare what premium you would be paying. You could for example look at kitco.com that always has the most up-to-date gold spot price. We base our prices, like most gold dealers, on that "spot price" x "fineness of the coin" x "weight of the coin or bar". That leads to final price which is variable depending on the spot price.

You can also find the current gold and silver spot price in the left top corner of our website. This one is updated every 3 minutes, just like our prices. Off course it's needless to say that nobody buys at the actual spotprice, unless you are really close to the source ;)

My experience so far:
- Website is a bit slow
- Shipping and handling costs seem a bit higher than on bitcoincommodities.com when ordering small amounts
  (7€ on bitcoincommidities vs. 14,95€ + Bitpayfee on bitgoud.nl)

Received my coins today  ;D (ordered monday received wednesday)

The Panda and Kookaburra came in a nice capsule the other coins were individually packed in ziplocs. All was very well packed in bubblewrap. Coins seem to be un-circulated.
All in all very pleasant transaction.

You would be hard pressed to get better service and attention at any price, and these are currently the ONLY online retailer in the entire EU for the Coldhardca.sh (http://Coldhardca.sh) Silver Bitcoin Specie  :)  This is the sort of attention that they give to our community.  The first mover advantage is theirs and we wish them every success.

This is really a collectors item. If you want to buy Silver or Gold as a gift or collector, I would suggest buying this one. If you are planning to buy gold and silver as an investment, you should not :)

How come your website says that the 2013 1oz Silver China Panda are in stock, but when I add one to my cart is says: "This product is currently out of stock."?

HPeteh. This has to do with automatic updates and our CMS that is not always working correctly. It should actually say it's out of stock. We are aware of that and are working on a solution. The 2013 panda is indeed not in stock at the moment. We probably will get some new stock for these, but since the new version of 2014 is here it will be harder to get them, and we can not give you an estimate on when we will get new stock.  

To bad, I like the design of the 2013's better than the 2014's  :(

Why is the exchange rate so bad ? For instance, I see 1 oz gold for 1006 EUR, or 2.89 BTC, which means an exchange rate of 348 EUR/BTC.

At the same time, the bitpay rate is 492 EUR/BTC.

Thank you for notifying, this seems to be a bug in the system.  We are looking into this. For now, the best way to order is to switch back to fiat currency like Euro. Bitpay will calculate the bitcoin price based on euro's with the most current bitcoin rate.

We fixed the problem. Bitcoin prices should be up-to-date again with the current bitpay exchange rates (https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-exchange-rates).

We temporarily turned off the bitcoin currency option in the frontend, because their was a bug in our current system. We thought we fixed the bug for the estimated prices, but it turns out we didn't. Another challenge we are facing recently with the extreme bitcoin prices is that some cheaper coins are now displayed as 0.01 BTC. Our current CSM system can only work with 2 decimals, so we are looking into a solution for that as well.

However, you can still order with bitcoin and all prices are calculated by bitpay according the latest bitcoin prices. The bitcoin prices in the shop were just estimates.

It seems that there is a sale on Precious Metals currently... I'm putting in some bullion buys to take advantage.   ;D

Ok then ...

... my girl friend ordered several silver coins on Wednesday the 20th. Among the coins was a Kookaburra 1kg from 2014, which was flagged as available in the store. The order was confirmed immediately via email after payment.

On the 22th, my girl friend got an email saying that the Kookaburra is not available until the 25th, and the stuff won't be delivered until then. Still no note on the web page.

Today is the 26th and she hasn't gotten any notice about the delivery. Now she starts becoming less confident and unsatisfied. Any chance to comment on that?

Thank you for your comment. Currently we are indeed awaiting the shipment of the new Kookaburra 1KG that was expected at the 25th. Please note that the other coins of your order are already available but this one coin is delaying the entire order. We try to update our shipping times, and be as accurate as possible, but sometimes it's not all in our hands, unfortunately we did not get the new shipment yet.

We are sorry for not notifying you earlier, the last few weeks were quiet crazy and we saw an unusual growth in orders.

I place an order & was directed to select the option for a quote on shipping. I received an email saying my order was processed, but I never was asked to pay. Is this normal? Should I just select "pay with bitcoin" instead of the shipping quote option? Or will you guys get back to me with details on how to pay for my order? It's all very well BitPay charging next to nothing to the vendor but what counts for the customer is how much we are paying.  Looking at their GBP rate compared to what I could get at BitBargain there's a pretty substantial disincentive to be buying directly with Bitcoins which is what I would much prefer.  The difference shown above is not atypical!  Your GBP price for the coin is within 1% of the BullionByPost  which is impressive but I'm afraid the BitPay exchange rate makes it prohibitive.

Would it be worth looking into using someone else as a payment service provider for your gbp customers?

We looked into this and I can tell you that by far Bitpay is doing the best job at this. It is true that if you start comparing bitpay with individual exchanges their can be a big difference especially during these days where rates could easily differ 100 dollar within a few hours. Please also note that Bitbargain only has a 8% marketshare, compared to way bigger exchanges like bitstamp I think that the bitpay price strategy is really fair for both customers and vendors. We have been busy updating our website to make sure all information such as price information is even more accurate than before. We have decided to not show categories that only hold products that our out of stock. As soon as those products are back in stock the categories will be visible again. This should clean up the website and eliminates the possibility to land on a empty category page.

Furthermore product prices on category level were sometimes not correctly displayed and were different from the product page prices. This is now also fixed.

I can see this making sense for some items where supply might be uncertain but wouldn't it make sense to let people order the more common items even if they aren't in stock?

Got my second and third delivery today - everything is in order (The Kinebars are really nice).

Customer service was good in sorting my issues, and I will try their services again in the new year.

At least I know that if they have problems, their proficient at sorting them out.

Sorry, was meaning to update this a while back but life got in the way.

So I ordered one Krugerrand on 15 Feb, arrived via UPS on 20 Feb. Checked it out with calipers and electronic scales and the measurements checked out. Not exact but close enough (there is some variance I understand).

I also ordered one of those coin checkers from goldcoinbalance dot com (they take Bitcoin as payment too) though it arrived much later and the coin checks out- passes all three tests for diameter, thickness and weight.

Being my first gold coin purchase ever in my life, I was a bit weary, but short of actually taking a filing off and subjecting it to an acid test, I think I have done all that can be reasonably done to test it and am happy with the coin.

It certainly isn't more expensive to buy at bitgild.com in bitcoins than with normal fiat. In fact it's much cheaper to buy with bitcoin than using regular payment processors like paypal or creditcard, as these will charge an additional 2,5% on the order, while we made all bitcoin orders free of any extra fee.

All bitcoin rates come from bitpay which you can find here (https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-exchange-rates), and are always reliable and fair compared to all the "good standing" exchanges.

Prices in the webshop in bitcoin are updated every 3 minutes and like mentioned in our FAQ should be used as indication. The most accurate price will be calculated during checkout by bitpay so you are sure you will always pay the most accurate bitcoin price.

I've become a fan of the charting you are doing with the silver/gold/bitcoin.

Does the display price of Silver bars include the tax ?

What is the fineness of the Maple Leaf 1oz Silver ? 0.999 or 0.9999 ?

Haven't all the Maple leafs since 1988 have been 4 9s? 0.9999 fine.
Its not a lot more silver but much more expensive refining and a little bit softer.
This makes it a little easier on the dies, and you can get more rise out of the metal, but doesn't hold up as well.

Great! Would be nice if you could see the value in one of the other accepted alt coins like mint besides bitcoin. Maybe something for the todo list  :)

One question... the Silver Bitcoin wallet (1 oz.)... it says .25 BTC on it... does it really contain that .25 BTC?

No, the coin has no actual bitcoin's in them. The 0.25 is the nominal worth of the coin at the time of production. It's a 0.999 ounce silver coin.

The shipment packages are inconspicuous and insured. Shipped securely with UPS and need to be signed upon arrival.

I just have to commend this superb company. Just placed my fourth order, and im sure that i will receive it within a week just like the previous three :) After my first attempt at buying gold with BTC from another company that ripped me off more than 8 BTC, it's great to finally find a trustworthy retailer... The only thing that surprised me was the complete lack of a printed Invoice or any other paper in the Package though...
If that's the case for international shipments as well, customs may naturally end up with questions (and demanding all paperwork) for the recipients.

I've been emailing them about getting some gold, but they are not responding at all.

I recently ordered 2 small gold bars from bitgild.com.
The gold was delivered in time in neutral, sturdy packaging.
My independent assayer confirmed the gold's authenticity.

100% legit. I will be a repeat customer.

I don't have any very recent experiences with them, but all my trades with them have been smooth and pretty much perfect - based on that, I'd say they are highly reputable. Of course, circumstances can change, and the last order I did with them was slower than usual but nothing too alarming. Caveat emptor always applies but if their circumstances haven't changed in the past year or so, I'd still recommend this vendor.

Yeah those ones, I'm pretty sure they weren't out of stock earlier! In fact I am sure of it as I only found them by sorting the gold ounces by price, and now when you do that they show up as out of stock.

Why does an gold ounce now cost more than €100 more if you pay with Bitcoin that if you pay with Euro?
I mean it isn't even close. The price of a gold ounce Kangaroo is 1218€, Bitcoin is at €1280. The price of the Kangaroo in Bitcoin is 1.05!

Order arrived today to the UK on 13/7/17, I ordered on 6/7/17.

Everything perfect as ordered. 22 silver coins of 7 different varieties. All packaged exceptionally in either individual zip lock bags, individual plastic cases, or 6 in a tube designed for 10 which they had taken the care and effort to stuff with bubble wrap so they didn't bang around too much.

Overall I'm absolutely delighted with my order but i did feel a little nervous about the order arriving just because on the 5th I sent them a question to support and still I haven't received a reply yet. In their defence if I'd read the FAQ it had been answered. Also my order inside the website still shows as processing and I didn't get an email with tracking information as stated. However it was a nice surprise today for me to wake up to and smeagle over.

Why is there so little activity here? I came back to report another successful purchase of more than a dozen different coins, but I feel like I have to remark on the fact I made the last 2 replies here. Such a great business. I'm buying VAT free silver to the UK for great prices, paid in bitcoin, I don't understand how this isn't more popular.

Second order came 6 days after ordering. I mailed support to let them know I didn't get the tracking number on my last order and got a reply within 24 hours. They told me they had now fixed the issue. As they promised I got the despatch notification and the tracking number. Same as last time everything was perfect. I'm recommending this site to all my crypto friends.

Would be great to see someone at the company have a greater social media prescience though, that's literally the only criticism I can come up with. Even if it was just some boring comment here or something just to let us know everything is cool.

Where do you get the info that the serial is fake? You are comparing it to previous purchases? Did you contact Perth Mint to have it verified? Did you get the gold bar tested?

I don't know that site, but it has a physical location, which is a plus.
It isn't called Bitcoin Gold or alike, also a bonus.  They have google reviews and lots of trust pilot reviews.

It says on their website that they are listed on the Dutch stock exchange.  I will have a look around to verify that the reviews really belong to the site, and that what they say is true, but it looks to me like a real precious metal dealer, who also accept Bitcoin!

The prices are much better than the Bitcoin PM dealres too.

The problem is that their support is non-responsive and orders are not sent out in due time.

Support is completely unresponsive (more than a week), my order has been in "processing" for more than three weeks. I would stay away from this site at the moment, don't know what's going on but this is a horrible situation for me.

I think that the worst flag are they not working on their site: they aren't still able to show btc prices, usd/eur prices are sometimes discordant, and try to google "cialis site:bitgild.com" and see what happens...

I finally got a response from the owner of Bitgild, with a vague explanation about there being delays with my payment. My order is supposed to be shipped tomorrow, 28 days after it was placed. He had no explanation for why my other messages were ignored before this.

Anyway, I'm just happy something is finally happening - I was just about to take legal proceedings against them and open a scam accusation thread on this forum. I've never had any issues like this before and this was my seventh order from Bitgild.

Yes, it took ~24 hours for me to receive my order after Mr. Vonk's reply. Which obviously is insanely fast. All is well in the end, but I will not say it was a pleasant experience. Order took 27 days to get shipped without any communication whatsoever, somehow my attempts to contact them didn't get through until yesterday. With that said, I'm glad to be able to confirm that Bitgild is still legit. All my prior orders where handled swiftly until the last one, which was handled horribly but ended well anyway.

For three days now I noticed another problem. I can't  login with Goggle chrome, only with Firefox  ::)

Ordered again, and those coinpayments fees seem to get worse. They charged almost 20% fees. So I rather jumped through hoops with bitpay (transfer xmr to btc; install a compatible wallet, since ledger wallet doesn't support the paymentlinks).

Would love to see them kicking out coinpayments and replace them with globee for altcoin payments.

We do not use trustpilot for reviews but stamped.io ( for which we have 800+ reviews). That 1 review was somebody who took the time to create a trustpilot review and account for bitgild, but we are not actively sourcing for reviews on trustpilot. We find them too expensive.

For altcoins this is around 4%. Rather steep, but we need that percentage to be on the safe side in unstable times. Altcoin market depths can be horrible sometimes. So we advise our customers to exchange to BTC if they can.

That is the reason why it's there;) We do not want a deception if you order, and we have to tell you it will take longer than expected. We can't keep all our products in stock all the time. In the end we are working with a product that is quite volatile as well, and we have to hedge against gold prices ;).

Products that are in stock, will usually ship same day, or the day after. If it's specifically mentioned it will take longer, it usually does.

OK guys I want to give you a short honest bitgild review about my experience: VERY GOOD!

Very low fees by paying with BTCPAY . After paying I get the gold after 10 days approx. Thats normal for online gold shops in my experience. I went to a local gold store and let it test - its real, noe fake. The guy told me he would buy this bar.

So i can recommend bitgild totally and will order again!

Hm I have some issues. I wanted to order but afterwards I noticed that you have
1. a much lower btc/eur price than the current market (your rate is 11 587 € but the market says 11.734 €!)
2. at the end a bigger amount than in the order process (1oz gold valcambi for 1688 but at the end I paid 1722 euro -.- )

Finally I paid 1742 euro for an ounce which was actually just 1688 euro in your shop when I place the order :( [that are nearly 100 euro for an ounce than in a normal online goldshop...)

So how do you explain that? I normally trust your service but this was very disappointing..

After 6-7 years online their reputation is established and they're very good to reply to a variety of questions to the clients. It shows their professionalism and that they know what they're talking about.
It's the best place, especially for the European citizens. You receive your order within a week (if the situation with covid-19 doesn't take more time but I don't think it's the case currently)

I advise you to choose the UPS Pickup Point because since the crisis started with Covid-19, UPS doesn't ask for your signature for a delivery at home so if you're not here they may simply leave your order in your mailboxes. (it's UPS directives)

The only thing I regret is not being able to buy french coins. Once I found one and I wasn't able to buy it immediately. Some days later it was no longer listed  :'(

I'm aware the situation is the same with almost every website selling gold/silver that accepts Bitcoin. Some of them are out of stock for most coins, or there is a 1 month period to wait, or they literally stopped accepting new orders for international shipping.

If I had known it would take so long I would have placed my order at a quieter time.
The worst thing is that with this delay I'm not even sure I can be there to receive my order. and choosing the UPS point pick up delivery won't change anything since I won't be around  :-\

How it's going to work if I'm not here to receive the order? UPS sends it back to you after xx days. Then, how do you deal with it?

Send an email to ask for a refund. I hope Bitgild will show their professionalism. Since I paid my order with Bitcoin, I expect to receive a refund in Bitcoin. I don't want to receive EUROs from a company selling gold for obvious reasons, especially since we're talking about 4 digit numbers

I contacted you by email and I have proofs that I am not responsible for UPS failure. I never refused the package since I have never seen them.

Is Bitgild shut at the moment? I had a parcel that was returned to them by UPS and I have been waiting for nearly two weeks for Bitgild to resend the parcel, but I am no longer getting responses to my mails. If anyone from Bitgild is on here please assist.

I'm not from Bitgild but the same thing happened to me with UPS and they received the parcel several days ago.

I contacted Bitgild twice, Sunday and I think Wednesday (or Tuesday) but received a reply only yesterday. They didn't reply before since they were waiting for a confirmation from their warehouse but didn't get any. And from what I understood the package is ready for shipment but their warehouse is very low at the moment, even to just reply to questions.

I am still waiting for them to resend my package.

edit: just got an email some minutes ago while typing here and I have the new UPS link and the parcel is on the road

i have see this only now, otherwise I would never have bought from them. I don't understand why 15 days to ship an order, I buy gold from other online sites (but with credit card payment) and the order is shipped the next day. I have ordered for 9 days and I am still in processing, luckily I only wanted to place a small order to try the service, I will definitely not buy at these conditions anymore

The merchant you're talking about has surely a bigger stock than Bitgild. But all other merchants accepting Bitcoin, at least most of them, are in the same situation as Bitgild. You can check it yourself. I know in the US there are also merchants that decided to sell to professionals only (there is a rush in The US for gold coins) and some stopped INTL delivery.

But it's true the mints are very busy at the moment. This explaining that. Can't really blame them if there is high demand.

Finally received my order last week, I'm totally happy even though I was the "victim of a bug" :D, they were very careful with my order. I'll definitely return to buy from them soon

I am on week 6 since my order, waiting for the item to be reshipped after problems at their warehouse. This situation is really annoying me now.

On the site I read for EU they dont charge any shipping costs when you order for over 1000 eur.  My question is are there any other costs? Insurance comes to my mind. I saw some other gold seller had 0.5% insurance mentioned. Also is there any limit up to what value they send? Even a million eur of gold?

Yep, the shipping is free for orders above 1000€. And no, there is no other cost when ordering. The insurance is covered by Bitgild.

I haven't heard about any limit of gold/silver people can buy. At least there is no mention of it in the ToS or FAQ. I tried to add 10 gold bars of 250g in my shopping cart and didn't get any restriction.
But if you're from Europe, above 10 000€ you will need to verify your identity (Dutch money laundering act)

I just tried to make an order on this site, I used CoinPayments as payment method, for the moment it's "received" on CoinPayments but still "Pending payment" on bitgild.com. I then realized there's no way to contact the support on bitgild (you can talk only with a bot), which is not a great start, I tried to send a PM to Bitgild.com user here on the forum asking for clarification, I'll keep you updated...

I made a first order 1200€. I sent many emails, no answer. I got it in about 2 and half weeks.

Second order about 8000€ and now they are asking for Yoti verification, that is not honest and serious.

What does cause the trigger?

    If your order is more than €10.000
    or if all your orders combined add up to €10.000 or more

Email support never answer to my emails. So Bitgild can you respect your own rules and ask verification ONLY above 10k€?
If I want to share all my private details I would just go to all cheapest gold sellers and that would be fine.

Unfortunately the above info about regulation is obviously also not something we prefer to do, because we value the privacy of our customers as well. Unfortunately we still  have banking relationships with the real world, and we can't go full crypto yet. That means that we have to comply to local regulations. We rather also not do regulation, but we have to, in order to stay in business. Sorry :)

A few months ago you had the 20 French francs coin with Marianne and the rooster. I was excited and said to myself ok, this week I'll buy some coins to Bitgild. A few days later, when I wanted to buy, I realized that you were out of stock.
Last week, the same thing happened to me (after several months of waiting).

I think you rarely receive the 20 French francs in stock and in limited quantities (?). Not a problem per se.
Why not create a kind of email alert or even a newsletter to warn the users when stock is available again. In any case, it would be something very useful.

I've been trying to get these coins for a long time. I know they are easy to find, but when it comes to accepting bitcoins as payment, Bitgild is the only one to do it.

Understand this. This feature would certainly be helpful. We will consider this.

Although I have to say, that currently we are experiencing quite some heavy volume in general, and gold is pretty scarce at the moment. So sourcing any coin and getting it delivered in reasonable time is a problem for the entire market right now. All our stock is immediately sold out, and we are very much dependent on the delivery times of the gold houses.  Hence the reason why the delivery times are currently extremely long :(.

I put an order on Jan 17. Likewise, not shipped yet and no tracking code received yet.

Mine is 3 days. Dec 9 is a long time though.

The notification system on this forum should definitely be looked at. We are subscribed for notifications, it works for a few weeks, and then all of sudden we are cut off, and don't receive any new notifications, even though we are still subscribed. This is already the 3rd time this has happend. Any suggestions on how to overcome this are highly appreciated.

I placed an order on 13th of August, got an order confirmation on e-mail. Since a week ago I have e-mailed to ask when it will be shipped as well as put the same question in the contact form on the website. No answers at all. What are you guys doing?

Update on september 4th: Just got a reply. They had received a bad batch of the coins I ordered, so there is a delay.

Update on september 15th: Got my coins.  Seems legit, well packed. I will certainly buy again on bitgild.

Important info about a scam website

There is a scam website bitgilt.com (with a T instead of a D) that is copy cat of bitgild.com. Please be very careful and don't order there.

They are currently serviced by nowpayments. We have been in contact with nowpayments and asked them to shut them off immediately. However, it will only be a matter of time before they use a different payment system.

We will try to find out how we can ask google to de-list them from the search engine as soon as possible.

The domain name is registered with Namecheap, and despite using Cloudflare I believe they host the website as well.

It may be worth reporting the domain name to their department. I already did this a long time ago, and their team didn't take long to react

Thanks for the info. Namecheap was indeed able to shut it down. However, another copycat out there again bltgild.com. Be careful, they are still operating, but will likely go down fast as well.

I received the gold bar as expected, it was about two weeks to Sweden. A perfectly genuine bar, with the correct enclosure and branding as described in the ad. 100 gram "Green" gold from the Valcambi refinery.
The waiting was, as always when I shop with bitcoin in these amounts, somewhat nerve-wrecking, but I'm happy that I did find this shop and that they were the real deal :)
