Will this new version recognize more than 447,219 blocks?

You're right. I figured it couldn't hurt anything by trying.

Thanks, I tried using the seed phrase and failing that directly importing the wallets. I'll give your method a go.

Hey all, not really new to using Armory but feel like this is a n00b problem. I have a wallet with an address to which I sent some bitcoins, the transaction has been confirmed (Blockchain info: https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/16M3E7SYUUrrA1zfmsWPxMAhJf9aYp8zA4 ). The wallet is good as I have other unspent change in it. For some reason, though, Armory still sees that address as unused. I've tried importing the wallets to Electrum (I see someone else recommend that as a possible solution to someone else) with no luck (Electrum won't recognize any of the Armory wallets). I've tried rescanning/rebuilding, I've resynced the entire blockchain. I don't know what else to do.

I don't see much of a difference aside from it's natural resistance to inflation, honestly. It spends the same (where it's accepted), the only thing is it only exists as information on computers across the network.

I've been on a subway train exactly twice. Once to where I was going and once on the way home. ):

Getting ready to put 3 more votes to it (I split my votes between this and native FreeBSD support).
edit: 4 days until I can vote again, doh.

Amusingly enough I've never seen that movie.

And why does downloading the whole blockchain on full wallet make it more secure than just using light wallet?
Your own hardware has verified all the blocks, plus all your addresses (and your coins) stay local to you. Using a light wallet, you are still essentially using an online wallet and have to trust others to not steal your BTC (not saying it'll happen, but I'm sure it has).
|
|
|
You can use a "light" wallet such as electrum
Running a full wallet is more secure, though you might wind up deleting your own coins (forever) if you don't do proper backups.

Still waiting to qualify for my first payment, hehe.

Hi All We are looking for someone to design a new Coloredcoins.org Logo for the new website. For anyone who is not familiar with the coloredcoins protocol can have a look at this -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmFjmvwPGKU Or join our google group - https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/bitcoinX Would you take the challenge ? Hrm, a blog but no entries, a website but nothing but a default design, and a mailing list. How much are you paying?

Read the context. This is all based on Psybits insinuating that he's a professional English writer with a honorary degree to prove it. With all the mistakes he makes, there is no way this is possible (or he went to a horrible school). The comment about English being easy or hard to learn isn't based on everyone; it is based on Psybits not knowing even the basics still, even after supposedly graduating with an honorary degree.
Context, context, context.
I've read the whole thread, and Boelens saying "English is not a hard language to learn." seemed more of a general statement. The errors shown to be corrected weren't horrible - and I didn't catch them, and I probably would have made the same (I have trouble remembering when to use 'than' or 'then') - but definitely worth pointing out concerning the rest of Psybits' claims. Also, he said he graduated with honors, not an honorary degree (which implies he was given the degree as a gesture or in honor of something), though the latter is more likely if the rest of his/her known work is of similar or worse quality.

"Learning English" and being a Grammar Nazi are 2 different things.
I would never have called him out on this were it not for essentially claiming that he is a professional writer and has the degree to prove it. When you flat out lie like this, it makes the rest of us look bad. Furthermore, he wants 1 BTC per 1000 words (due to his extensive knowledge of the English language), although he, again, is lying to earn money. You can tell based on the press releases posted on BitcoinPRBuzz alone that he is far less than professional. This leads me to believe that he is attempting to use trickery and false claims to get paid more by people who otherwise don't know better. I have morals and I can't see myself sitting by while things like this happen. They destroy the reputation for each and every one of us, so when people do things like this it has a direct effect on me as well. I'm not saying it is a problem to point out his errors, I am saying that there is a difference between "Learning English" and being a Grammar Nazi. I don't see where this comes from, though. I'm coming from a few posts ago, where I said something like "I didn't know that was supposed to be like that" and you said "English is not a hard language to learn". Actually, Boelens said "English is not a hard language to learn." I would like to counter that - for non-native speakers - English is one of the hardest languages to learn due to the meaning of many words being based upon its context.

To further segue off-topic, did this thread got Godwin['d|ed]?

each block is bigger than the last so yeah, each block will take longer to validate. Once it's done it's done, though, unless you nuke the local copy. Then you'll start all over again. It took me, give or take, about 48 hours to first sync the blockchain.
