1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 【ANN】【PIRL】【PoW ETH Masternode Asic Resistant】 ►► NO PREMINE - NO ICO ◀◀ on: November 08, 2018, 09:14:06 PM
Announcement on the 51% attacks and the steps further down the road into securing investors funds. https://tinyurl.com/yddww85k

Beware all - just saw someone booted from the discord for asking for the apparent attacker's addresses. Someone else claimed they were in another channel, which they definitely were not in, then told Work he'd been answered and booted him.

Highly suspect. Given the dev team controls the network thru managed masternodes, and can basically force an update without anyone being able to question it, without actual proof of the re-orgs this might very well be a scam.

Hint: there's absolutely no reason they wouldn't publish the addresses they claim double spent funds, yet they refuse to do so.

New disclaimer when buying these 3k and 1.9k models from bitmain...

3. One major cryptocurrency which is using CryptoNight hash function is about to change their PoW algothrim, and according to their public statement, it is purposely to brick ASIC mining rigs including X3. When you buying it, you are betting that they are wrong.

loooooooooool Grin

Not the worst bet ever anyway.  Will be interesting to see which network has more hashrate after Monero forks - the original chain, or the new fork.  Will the new fork really be Monero if it has little hashrate or, gasp, gets 51% attacked into can't-trust-confirmations oblivion?

Monero (among others) are planning to change the POW algo used to calculate each block, thus there can't be a 51% attack or whatever by ASICs running the obsolete POW algo. They won't find blocks and they won't earn coins, period.

This is not the same as a chain split situation where everyone is using the same algo but someone got out of sync.

POW algo change = useless ASIC

You miss the point, obviously. Some people like to say stupid and obvious things for the sake of talking I guess.

Monero's existing network isn't going anywhere, the existing chain is going to keep existing. Ofc if you keep mining you'll keep finding coins, the chain doesn't magically stop existing because some "leaders" decided to fork. If people try to call some new chain with no hashrate Monero, they are liers.  Monero mining has been backed by trojaned machines for years, and many of those machines will NOT be updated to the PoW change.  They'll keep mining the existing change.

Don't need ASICs to 51% attack the new chain. But let's consider if someone wanted to... the PR for the CryptonoteV7 algo change has been available for QUITE SOME TIME. Plenty of time to make an FPGA design or even tape out an ASIC if changes are minor (they are).

This is absolutely a chain split scenario. Absolutely no chance it's a clean split because so much of the network hashrate is trojaned machines or ASICs at this point.

This thread is full of noobs who can't see why these miners are an interested gamble.  PoW changes don't work, monero is about to prove that.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: March 16, 2018, 06:23:55 PM
I'm on the waiting list as well, holding and trading MCO, but I have to say that Tenx experience was far better - in terms that they actually delivered the card (if we put the Wavecrest issue asside). Don't get me wrong - I dig the project and will dig it even more when I'll hold the actual Monaco card in my hand.

Ya... Tenx delivered a card out of compliance with a sketchy provider, and everyone's cards got canceled.  Great experience!  No... tenx has nothing over coinsbank or many other offerings except it had a nearly useless token attached to it.

I'll wait for a company like Monaco to get it right.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: November 17, 2017, 11:07:37 PM
Lol, buy name monaco and sell false promises Cheesy Tenx already have working card (and it was race together), while monaco just false promises, soon it will be 1 dollar !!

Just going to quote myself here for this noob:

MCO is the only company with Visa Program Manager status, which means they operate on their own BIN (first 6 digits of a CC number is the BIN). This is a huge HUGE deal, as it allows significantly more control over the card program.  All the other companies (e.g. TENX) are using someone else's BIN and are subject to their controls.

Another competitor guys???
A London startup is launching a debit card that lets you spend bitcoin and ethereum,    http://uk.businessinsider.com/london-block-exchange-launches-prepaid-cryptocurrency-debit-card-2017-11

There are so many projects which are offering crypto cards (MCO, CTR, PAY, TKN, ..........)

You guys keep hoping for the visa deal to go through.
Let you tell you something.
I work at visa and chances for it to go through is very slim.
So slim that you can almost say that it is zero.
There is no way in hell visa is going to partner with a company like Monaco.

The only way is to get a banking license or use a third party.
Going forward, unless Monaco does that, don't expect anything to happen.

You know they are working with Wavecrest, right? Pure nonsense FUD.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: September 27, 2017, 08:59:03 PM
Anyone can get a card program set up if they are willing to piggyback on someone else's BIN like wavecrest. MCO unlike tenx or centra is doing it right and going thru the steps needed to launch with their own Visa BIN.

Let's hope so  Smiley
It's not about hope, just facts.  It's super easy to issue a few visa cards that you don't really have control over - MCO team have said from the start this isn't their plan.  If they get approved or not is another question ofc, but overall that seems more likely then not.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: September 27, 2017, 04:04:48 PM
Yes, but we need some actions. Competitors doesn't sleeping.

Although I'm a MCO fan, I got to admit that CENTRA came on the market with a real workin product, the kind of product that MCO shoud've had first. If MCO had the VISA approval when the mobile app come out, that would've been skyrocket for MCO project

They focused basically on China market? And now China people want not cards?  Huh

Or... with exchanges and fiat trading on the verge of closing, is that exactly what they want?

Claymore - is there any way to disable the "Failed to set new fan speed, check if miner has root access" console message?  I don't want to see the warning 8 times every 3seconds.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: July 26, 2017, 08:54:02 PM
I still hold mco, I believe dev is doing the best strategy Smiley
100% agreed.  Ignore the trolls like Jollygood.  Customer support?  How about people calm down and wait for the product on the dates they have always given?  There's nothing to support yet except maybe a few trolls looking for attention.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: July 13, 2017, 08:52:03 PM
What are the advantages of black cards?

They are black plastic and given to the first people that foolishly invested in the ICO..  no advantages at all

They actually said metal at one point.  And there are other already stated benefits if you cared to look (as detailed my matt above).

Thank-you for proving you are ignorant and trolling.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: July 12, 2017, 02:07:19 AM
So this may be a dumb question... but have the app or card been released yet? I was searching for the app on the mona.co website but couldn't find it. Only something explaining how easy onboarding was via the app  Tongue

No body is updating about the VISA accreditation status nor the app. All kept in the dark.

Duh fuck?  Try reading instead of spreading FUD... App is being launched Aug 31st - always the plan... did you even read the whitepaper lol?
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: July 04, 2017, 03:53:05 PM
The amount of FUD in this thread is flat out impressive!
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: June 23, 2017, 03:25:50 AM
no exchange yet???!!!!!

Trying reading any of the posts on the last page, heh. Token is not tradable yet until a contract upgrade to address multi-sig wallet incompatibility is complete.  Estimated timeline has been "this week" for a while now.

I wonder... is Monaco team going to announce something else awesome around the same time? =)
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.5 (Windows/Linux) on: June 13, 2017, 04:19:16 PM
Quick shoutout for anyone still running v9.3 on Win10 - Defender just decided it was a Trojan and deleted it on my rigs. v9.5 appears to be fine <crosses fingers>...

Always smart to add a Windows Defender exception on the folder you keep your mining software in.  Miners regularly get falsely flagged as trojans because they get packaged in trojans.
