1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DNotes 2.0 - Staking, CRISP Interest, DNotes Pay on: May 13, 2020, 11:52:52 AM
Unfortunately, to fix the DNotes blockchain would require a fork, rebuilding of the wallets and servers, and getting the exchanges to update and there would be a significant cost involved. It doesn't look like anyone is going to fund the update to bring it back to normal operation.

Just to provide some information on what happened. It looks like someone purchased or otherwise acquired a large amount of DNotes, then was able to gain control of the blockchain with majority staking. Without a lot of people staking and supporting the network, they were able to generate their own block reward and essentially doubled the amount of DNotes maliciously. Then dumped the coins on the exchanges. This all started on 5/9/2020, and here is the address: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/note/address.dws?SdVzKN5NHoTRvEuxgFmd2QgoNXpWdwcQA9.htm

We will continue to keep DNotesVault open for the next 6 months, and I will do what I can to keep the network running, notifying DNotesVault users that should withdraw if they would like to keep their coins. After the 6 months, I will do what I can, but you will have to email me directly at contact@dnotescoin.com.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported DNotes. This is truly an unfortunate scenario.

Update 7/30/2020

DNotesVault.com is now closed. You may still withdraw your coins at this time, providing that the network is still running and capable of sending coins, by emailing contact@dnotescoin.com to begin the withdrawal process. Please be sure to email from the address associated with your DNotesVault.com and be prepared to answer questions relating to your account.

All, if you have any issues getting connections on your DNotes wallet, you can add nodes to your conf file.

Visit https://chainz.cryptoid.info/note/#!network to find the latest list of nodes by clicking node list next to /DNotes:2.0.2.1/ subversion. It will give you a list like this:
addnode=104.236.48.53
addnode=107.170.74.159
addnode=108.59.0.167
addnode=114.43.185.249
addnode=138.197.219.41
addnode=154.127.60.97
addnode=159.203.124.104
addnode=163.172.68.37

addnode=91.135.84.131
addnode=95.216.38.179
addnode=95.217.78.79

In the folder:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\DNotes2
Edit the dnotes.conf and paste in the list of nodes just as it is above, formatted addnode=IPADDRESS.
If you don't have a dnotes.conf, right click in the folder, click New, then click Text Document. Rename the file to dnotes.conf, all lowercase. Right click and click open with, then select more apps and select notepad. Then you can paste in the list of nodes, close and save the file.

You can also get the latest version of the wallet from github:
https://github.com/DNotesCoin/DNotes2.0/releases

There has been an issue on DNotes Blockchain, and appears to be compromised as someone has generated a large amount of DNotes. The rest of the stakers should reject block rewards that don't follow the same block reward rules but there may have not been enough staking at the time, and I am looking into options of what actions we can take to help resolve the situation.

I have emailed my contacts at STEX and Mercatox, recommending that they halt DNotes withdrawals and deposits at this time.

Hi!
Does Electrum server work? Thanks!

Hi AlUz, that is likely due for cleanup. Give me about 20 minutes and should be good. Thanks!

My Dnotes wallet stopped staking a couple days ago.

What gives?

Hey CryptoJohn, hope you're doing well. Everything appears to be running normally.
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/note/

I would recommend resetting your blockchain. Make a copy of your C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\DNotes2 folder, then delete all the files in that folder except for the wallet.dat file, and open the wallet to start downloading.

Another thing you can check is if your inputs are getting to small, you can click on Send, then Settings > Options > Display and check display coin control features. Then click on inputs to see the size of your inputs. Likely any inputs for each address under a couple hundred DNotes would be too small. You can select inputs from one address, make that same address the change and the receiving address, and send your coins. By using the same sending, receiving, and change address, you can maintain your CRISP payment while merging your inputs.

It's great to see the momentum of HERo's growth lately. Scrolling before I saw well over 200 members, many of which appear to be experts in their field. There is also a significant rise in questions and posting of content within the site. These are great objective metrics. The goal is to get engagement to rise there enough so that there is a core community with a self-sustaining level of engagement, which can then be used to snowball into growth of new members. It's a great model.

It's also beginning to look a little better for the crypto industry overall, with a little more sustainable growth in markets. There are many ways to reach to success for DNotes, and I firmly believe that the multi-pronged approach to take the future into our own hands by creating a successful business unit to bootstrap success from & point investors towards as evidence of prudential business management while we wait for market conditions is a wise move.

Thanks Tim, indeed the momentum is growing. We are also working on a few tweaks and upgrades to make it easier and more interactive. Then grow our base, get some activities going, and reach out to a larger audience.

I have noticed a few improvements on the HERo page, one of them showing more members per page, which is definitely a good thing Smiley

Do you also have plans for Alan to appear at some public events, to further promote the page and maybe also spark some interest in DNotes again? Smiley

Thanks Amadeus. Yep, making several improvements and updates to the membership side. And absolutely events/meetups/ and even organizing HERo members to meet locally are all things on our radar. The timeline isn't something I can comment on at this time though.

I am also glad to see the community growing. I regularly browse through the page, and I noticed increase in number of members, nice Wink

Speaking about tweaks and upgrades of the page, may I suggest that you add a filter which would sort events by dates? That could be very useful feature, since now you have multiple events on page, but they are just randomly sorted regarding date.

Sure! We'll look into that for the next batch of upgrades. Thanks for the suggestion. Let us know if you have any more.

In Interview, Mastercard CEO Explains Reasons for Leaving Libra Project

Things are not looking really bright for Libra now I believe Undecided Or am I missing something?

I'm sure they anticipated some road bumps along the way. We'll see though.

Well...that is very mild way of saying it Cheesy If funding members like Mastercard , PayPal, Stripe, and Visa left the boat, I would call that a pretty big hole in the road, rather than minor bump Cheesy Cheesy

Lol, you could be right. Overall I think their progress will be beneficial to the rest of our industry, so hopefully these won't be large enough holes to stop them in their tracks.

Hi guys,  how are you doing? Do you have any update about the HERo or DNotes?  Smiley

I see that Twitter and LinkedIn activities/updates on DNotes stopped on 3rd of January. Is there any particular reason or new strategy behind that decision?  Smiley

Also the current trade is (according to Coinmarketcap) down to 1,78 USD.

I do believe in the team and your work, but maybe you could still comment on that matters a little. Especially, since if someone who is not familiar with the team and the coin itself, would look at that info at this time, a lot of people would consider it a dead coin Undecided (though I know it is not true of course  Wink )

Hey Amadeus,

We are up to about 140 members, and 34 experts on HERo membership. Growing momentum. We've been working with a lot of people, trying different cross promotional efforts such as videos. Check it out when you have a chance.

For DNotes twitter, no I just need to re-setup a schedule. Will do that at some point this week. I may narrow it down a bit to cover more of our core messaging.

Our community outreach has decidedly taken a new direction, building a new community outside of the typical crypto industry and channels. As we see that as the only path forward. But we will keep it active here, and make major announcements as they come.

Hi again  Cheesy

Thank you for the answer. I had also seen that you posted some things again on Twitter and LinkedIn, nice to see that Smiley It may not seem much, but since there has been no new development of the coin itself lately (which is understandable at this phase, when focus is on HERo), I believe it is still important to write/share some post from time to time, so people can see that the coin is not dead Wink

One one more question though. You mentioned that you decided to build new community outside the typical crypto industry and channels. What kind of response are you getting there? Did you introduce them to DNotes and are they willing to support it in some way?
I am asking, because from my experience people from "outside" are much more sceptical and less willing to take necessary risks and invest in new technologies, in this case crypto. More or less most see it as a pyramid scheme Roll Eyes Well at least those which I am in contact with.

Good questions. Some are and some aren't, as we connect with people they are naturally interested in what we are doing beyond HERo. Though the skepticism we have seen isn't about the fundamental nature of blockchain or cryptocurrency, it's about the state of the industry. Many being in technology, entrepreneurs, fintech, and related industries, they naturally look favorably upon and interested in it, but also realize the industry isn't ready for mass adoption for the intended purpose. However, our major push to inform and educate the HERo community about digital currency and DNotes is yet to come. We've just started to incorporate more of that content as a first step.

I was afraid that it is like that yes. It might actually help if Facebook manages to launch Libra, so then people would maybe more easily see everyday utility and advantages.

On the other hand I am thinking...if there is seemingly not really need for cryptocurrency at this time yet, maybe with right people and big enough momentum, the need could be created, we live in a consumer society anyway Cheesy

Let me explain what I was thinking with creating the need on an example. Pharmaceutical industry. Selling medicine to sick people is good business, but is somehow limited, since fortunately not everyone is sick...so they created that artificial need for food supplements. That is genius. So now they cannot only sell to sick people, but also to healthy ones. It instantly means increasing potential consumer base to billions Wink I can often see advertisements for detoxing tea or pills. But when you think of if, most of the people already have the greatest tool for detox...it is called pair of kidneys and a liver Cheesy But they did manage to create an impression that we NEED detox and we can only achieve that with the help of the pills, while good diet with enough water would ve more than adequate.

Similar case is with technological companies. They for example, also create need for changing the smart phone each year or two, just to get some minor improvements which they present as drastically life changing and something that we cannot live with.

So yes...one thing would be to wait for industry to be ready and feel the need for mass adoption...but the other possibility would be to somehow create that need Wink Unfortunately I am not genius enough to do that or I would already be infamously rich Cheesy Neither is easy, or anyone would do it Wink But maybe just something to elaborate on Wink

Absolutely, our features, tools, and ecosystem are all part of that equation. DNotesVault makes it easy and safe to store, Staking makes it attractive to acquire and stake, CRISP makes it attractive to acquire and save, the trading bot makes it easy to trade, DNotesPay opens up a brand new way to automatically accept payments (without the need of a third party, the program can verify it's own payment), and the list goes on. These are practical tools that can attract people and benefit them in a real way, and if I have anything to say about it there are many more to come.

If we can show people DNotes practicality and get away from the culture associated with our industry, along with all the other hurdles we have to overcome, I believe we can do just what you've suggested and create the additional utility needed to aim at mass adoption. Our choice has been to push HERo and build a solid community around the ideas behind DNotes philosophy as the next step toward those goals, and at the same time be of significant help to women around the world and create a profit model that will allow us to utilize HERo as a pillar for our funding.

I absolutely agree, DNotes has great features...but it is still not widely known, recognised and used. So, it seems that one part of the equation is still missing. We still need some catalyst for mass adoption. Can HERo be the one? I personally think it can, if enough people will sign up and start using it.

I was thinking, since DNotes already has great features, what would motivate more people to start using it... One of my thoughts wandered to Cashback again. It is basically a "society" when people get rewarded for buying. What does it have to do with DNotes? Well nothing, but it is one direction I have been thinking at. What, if we (with great help of connections from HERo) could build similar "society", with DNotes as key mean of payment? It should not be too hard to attract customers with proper business model.

For example. Let's say that we have a Seller who is selling an Item. Item is priced 50$, BUT if he pays in DNotes, he would get it for let's say equivalent of 45$? Or he would still pay the price (in DNotes) of 50$, but 5$ (again in DNotes) would go to his "Bonus" account and he could use that bonus for further purchases. That seems pretty good motivation for me Wink And yes the rewards could of course be lesser, I tok 10% for easier presentation.

That is on a customer side. Now, at the other side there would be bigger and harder task to convince sellers to add DNotes as payment method and give customer discount for paying with it. One possible benefit would be user base...that by doing so they would get some free ads and access to DNotes community. The other benefit would be that early sellers could in that way (by people paying them in DNotes) get a lot of DNotes, which would in time with bigger adoption increase in value, and also they would get a CRISP reward for it. So early adopters would have double benefit. Well if that is legally possible, I do not know what would happen with taxes etc. in that case. But with come creative accounting I believe that is not impossible obstacle to overcome.

Well that are just my thoughts in any case Smiley Maybe you will find some sense in it, or maybe not, but still, I believe that ideas are always welcome and that if community cooperate and bring ideas together eventually something can come out of it  Smiley

I agree, HERo has great potential for being the catalyst to accelerate DNotes adoption.

As for the reward system, I like the idea, but the challenge would be who pays the reward and how do we protect the system against exploitation? If it were created as inflation directly from the blockchain, that would open a window for exploitation. Working with specific vendors individually who pay cashback would be limiting. A limited amount could be allocated from the DNotes team, but would involve some fairly complex systems and integrations in place to avoid mass exploitation. Not to say it can't or won't be done, but it would certainly be an idea I would consider only once we have significant funding and resources to support it.

Our community outreach has decidedly taken a new direction, building a new community outside of the typical crypto industry and channels. As we see that as the only path forward. But we will keep it active here, and make major announcements as they come.

Hey DNotes team, hope all is seeing you well in 2020. I have a few questions that perhaps you could answer at your leisure.

How have the women who are HERO members utilized the services you offer thus far? Is there any feedback you can report? Is there a diversity in member location, or are you experiencing most of your success in a particular geographic region?

In the future, how do you plan on having people enter the DNotes economy? In my opinion, exchanges are an ineffective means of acquiring DNotes and there is no alternative gateway for people to participate.

Yes, this is the first iteration of HERo membership and the core functionality is education, guidance, networking, and self promotion. However, what we have now is just the beginning. Guided utilization of the service and the help of willing participants will help us to discover how to improve the platform and meet our goals as well as our members goals. Some of the key takeaways include marketing to the individuals needs and enhancing the platform to better guide our members to achieve those specific goals.

As for how to integrate DNotes, it starts with education. HERo will be gradually introducing more blockchain and digital currency content, we have started this phase already. Educating users on the functionality and importance of digital currency and blockchain. Introducing our members to using DNotes and it's family of products. We have also discussed several options for the future, such as incentivizing participation and various ways we can integrate DNotes directly, but it's not set in stone just yet.

All that aside, our primary focus right now is still to get people in there and using what we have now.

Hi guys Smiley

First of all I would like to wish you all a happy holidays Cheesy I hope that you will enjoy them and have a great time celebrating the arrival of New Year and new opportunities that will come with it  Wink

And as the year draws to an end, what would you point out as DNotes biggest success in 2019? What would be biggest goals and points of improvement that you want to accomplish in 2020?

Do you have any particular milestones that you would like to achieve in 2020?

Wish you all the best in any case! Smiley

Thank you Amadeus, that is greatly appreciated! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Some of biggest successes include launching HERo and HERo membership, as well as all the new doors and new connections that are opening as a result. We are ambitious as ever and dedicated to the mission that started with the idea behind cryptomoms in our first year of the launch of DNotes, to close the gender participation gap and make DNotes a trusted and inclusive digital currency for the benefit of everyone. As we continue to grow our community around HERo we will introduce more around DNotes, cryptocurrency, and blockchain, educate and demonstrate it's potential.

It won't be without hurdles to overcome and it's never a straight line to success, but we know our direction is the correct one and we will continue our journey towards that destination relentlessly.

Hi!
Does Electrum  server work?
My Electrum DNotes 3.1.3 does not show transactions from 22.09.19.
Please help!

Hi AlUz,

Yes, it does, but the server may need to be updated. Going to update and reset the server now, should be back up in a few minutes. If you still don't see the transaction after that, send us an email at contact@dnotescoin.com with the transaction info and we will take a look into it.

Hi DNotes, is there any progress you can report on Next Gen Hero? What is your paid (non promo) membership total up to, and when might we anticipate to see an impact on the overall adoption of DNotes?

We are currently up to 85 members. Since the WGC conference we have been busy working with our connections with a couple of targets. Expanding our social media presence on HERo, recently have done some testing and promotion mostly through facebook. Growing our network of influence, working closely with other groups, and starting to work on creating internal groups within HERo. Check out some of our latest releases:
