I only have 2 connections to the network.

Is there a list of nodes we can add to the conf file?

Apologies if this is already posted somewhere, I couldn't find it. Would suggest putting it in the 1st post in thread.

create a file dnotes.conf and add:

1002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DNotes 2.0 - 4/2/2018 Now Live on: April 13, 2018, 02:38:19 PM
Please be sure to have your DNotes off of the exchanges before April 16th.

It is imperative that if you wish to participate in the swap for DNotes 2.0, now or in the future, that you remove your coins from the exchanges prior to April 16th. Leaving your coins on the exchange means that the exchange controls your coins, and not you. We will of course make every effort to help you swap your coins but we cannot make any guarantees that we can recover coins that are not in your control.

I just checked out Cryptopia. The following message was display:

Market Closing

NOTE/BTC market is closing, please cancel any open orders and withdraw your coins.

Please withdraw your DNotes from Cryptopia and any other exchange immediately if you have not done so. It must be done before April 16, 2018. Always remember, he who controls the wallet controls the coin. We can not help to swap your coin if you do not control the wallet.

DNotes 2.0 Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What is new with DNotes 2.0?

A: DNotes 2.0 is a major improvement on the original DNotes blockchain. The new blockchain will allow DNotes and its partner company DNotes Global to achieve its objective to connect DNotes to the modern world of finance and commerce. The new blockchain is faster, more secure, and consumes only a fraction of the electricity. It also allows custom invoices to be created and attached to transactions, and changes the economic incentives of the network to one that encourages savings with the switch to the Proof-Of-Stake algorithm, and paying 0.5% interest on balances that haven’t moved from a wallet address in a 30 day period (~6% per annum).

The next update (TBD) will include:
Deferred Staking

Q: How do I swap my coins?

A: DNotes stored on the DNotesVault are automatically swapped for you, you don’t need to take any action as the swap process has been done on your behalf.

For new coins you would like to swap, from an exchange, a local wallet, paper wallet, that were not already located on the DNotesVault:

If you do not already have a DNotesVault account, register here: https://dnotesvault.com/register
Login to your DNotesVault account.
Click “historic” at the top.
If you don't have any addresses yet, click create address.
Send your old DNotes to one of your historical addresses.
The DNotes you send will then be converted to the new DNotes 2.0 coins, and will show in your new DNotes wallet under “dashboard” after we have completed the swap process.
Note: Please allow some time for this process to complete.

Q: I had a DNotes Vault account with DNotes in it before the swap. Have my old DNotes been swapped into the new coins?

A: Yes. We have taken care of swapping all coins held at the DNotes Vault at the time of the upgrade. You don’t need to take any action.

Q: I found some DNotes from the old blockchain, can I still swap them for the new DNotes tokens?

A: Yes, we will continue to run the old blockchain and give a reasonable period of time for people to swap their DNotes to the new DNotes 2.0 tokens. We recommend that users take action to swap their coins as soon as possible, and may treat swaps on a case by case basis.

Q: I have a paper wallet. How do I turn them into the new coins?

A: You will need to download the DNotes v1.2 software, and then use the importprivkey command in the debug console.

https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/5941/how-do-i-import-a-private-key-into-bitcoin-core

Once your wallet is updated, you will be able to send out your DNotes.

Q: What is the cutoff date for mined DNotes that can be swapped to the new DNotes blockchain?

A: We have set April 16th as the soft deadline. No DNotes mined after this date will be eligible to be swapped to DNotes running on the new blockchain. We will continue swap DNotes after that date, however the process will not be as easy and will take more time. Any DNotes 1.x purchased on exchanges after the 16th will not be eligible for the swap.

Q: What is Staking?

A: Staking your coins helps to support the DNotes network, and the network currently pays out roughly 5 DNotes every minute to one address on the network based on a probability that centers on how many coins the user is staking with as a percentage of the total number of coins being staked on the network. The DNotes network pays out ~2% of the total number of coins per annum. If 100% of DNotes were being used to stake on the network, then by probability each user could expect 2% growth in the number of coins they have. If only 50% of coins are used to stake, then those users could expect approximately 4% growth that year.

Q: Can I stake my coins on the DNotesVault?

A: You cannot currently stake your coins that are on the DNotesVault, you will need to withdraw your DNotes 2.0 to a local wallet and stake your coins from your local wallet. We will in a future release incorporate cold staking, which will allow you stake your coins while they are safely tucked away inside the DNotesVault. However, we do not have an ETA, it will be one of our highest priorities for next upgrades.

Q: How do I stake?

Disclaimer: It is recommended that you properly secure your computer and wallet, as well as make proper backups, before attempting to run your own staking wallet. Failure to properly secure your DNotes may result in loss or theft. If you are not familiar with the process, please start off small and familiarize yourself with the process.

You will need to download the DNotes QT wallet here: https://github.com/DNotesCoin/DNotes2.0/releases/tag/v2.0.0.0

Install the wallet (and we recommend creating a backup)
Go to settings, and then ‘encrypt wallet’. Enter your password twice (and do NOT forget it, or you will not be able to access the wallet and we can not help you).
Go to settings, and then ‘unlock wallet’, enter your password, and select “for staking only”. This will prevent any transfers from being made from your wallet without the password while you stake your coins.
Soon the arrow at the bottom will turn green. This means that your coins are now staking.

You can watch a video of these steps here from our alpha release here:
   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2w9r2LoXM6c

Q: How do I earn the interest reward?

A: Our Cryptocurrency Investment Savings Plan (CRISP) payouts occur approximately once per month. All coins that haven’t moved address during that month period will accrue a 0.5% interest, which compounds to roughly 6.17% per annum. If you move your coins during that time, those coins will not receive the interest for that month.

Q: What exchanges are DNotes listed on?

A: Cryptopia, Nova, Yobit, & Trade By Trade

Q: Will DNotes 2.0 be listed on new exchanges?

A: The DNotes team are working to get DNotes listed on new and larger exchanges.

Q: When will Cryptopia relist DNotes 2.0?

A: Cryptopia is starting the delisting process and they have advised they will connect us with their relisting team once the DNotes have been removed from the exchange, in order to prevent confusion.

Q: Are the new DNotes 2.0 coins worth the same as the old coins?

A: Yes, they are worth exactly the same. However we can not predict what price movements will occur at exchanges once DNotes is relisted using the new coins.

Q: I have DNotes on the exchange, do I need to remove them from the exchange?

A: Yes, as soon as possible. Please see “How do I swap my coins?”

Q: I have Mac or Specific Linux OS, will there be wallets for these?

A: Yes!
We currently have Mac and Linux Mint Desktop wallets at DNotesCoin.com.

Q: Where is the block explorer?

A: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/note/

Q: Can I get CRISP reward AND stake at the same time?

A: Yes, the system is designed to allow you to receive CRISP on a wallet you are staking

Q: What is the CRISP reward structure?

A: CRISP periods are every 43,200 blocks (30 days). Payments start 10,080 blocks (1 week) from the end of the CRISP period.

Q: What do I need to do to earn CRISP?

A: Keep your coins in the same address for the full CRISP period 30 days, set every 43,200 blocks.

Q: When will I receive CRISP payments?

A: The next payouts are as follows:

April 27 - Ends first CRISP period.
May 4 - Payout starts. (Virtually no one will receive this payout)
May 27 - Ends second CRISP period
June 3 - Payout starts

Roughly.

Q: Do I get CRISP payments at the DNotesVault?

A: Yes! You get CRISP inside the DNotesVault, or at any address you control, such as a Desktop wallet. Though I won't suspect you will be able to get CRISP rewards from the exchanges or other online providers.

Q: Where do the CRISP coins come from?

A: The blockchain, these are newly created coins and have now become part of the new coin distribution, just like the staking reward.

Q: I am trying to swap my coins from Cryptopia and I am getting Invalid Address

A: That address which begins with an "S" is your new DNotes 2.0 address and your coins on Cryptopia currently are DNotes 1.x. If you like to participate in the coin swap, you can click on the "HISTORIC" tab in your DNotesVault account, create an address, and deposit to that address which begins with a "D". We will take care of the rest, and swap your DNotes for you within a few days.

The contests and giveaways are through social media and have nothing to do with Bitcointalk. Please do whatever you can to help by sharing as much as possible. Thank you!! Smiley

Cryptocurrency Education Week

As part of Financial Literacy Month in the United States, DNotesEDU will be hosting Cryptocurrency Education Week from April 8th - 14th, 2018.

The goal is to raise awareness of the need for free, accurate, and unbiased introductory educational material on cryptocurrency. To achieve mainsteam adoption there needs to be a strong focus on investor protection, and while cryptocurrency education is the key to accomplishing this, it is also a favorite bait of fraudsters and their schemes. Quality educational material is honest about the risks involved, and does not make specific coin or token recommendations. There is no reference to anything that sounds like guaranteed high returns, earn $millions, hot tips, secrets that you have to pay for, or any other too-good-to-be-true claims. Educational material should be inclusive and empowering - it should teach you how to make decisions for yourself.

Contests and giveaways

During the week, we will be giving away DNotes digital currency to random lucky winners that have been sharing DNotesEDU cryptocurrency educational material on social media.
Make sure your posts contain #CryptocurrencyEducationWeek  @DNotesEDU so we can find you when searching.
Keep an eye out for additional contests and random, instant giveaways held throughout the week that will be announced on Facebook and Twitter.
At the end of the week, every eligible post has a chance to win a Grand Prize Draw of 5,000 DNotes, plus numerous runner-up prizes!

ICOs are currently spending tens of millions of dollars of investors money to get listed on top exchanges. The DNotes team has never asked its investors/community for any kind of funding. BUT, if anyone would like to donate 5 or 10 $million, we could get on any exchange you want. lol  Wink

Did you know....
ICOs are using up to 5 $million of investors money to run signature/social media campaigns!! 5 $million was the highest I noticed, but I didn't did very deep. Paying $200 for a signature is easy when you use someone else's money.

If you don't have the money to pay them, give them a bunch of coins on consignment. Shit, if FUN could get on binance, you can too. You just have to follow their rules about not disclosing if they accept your offer. I think that may be what killed dragon's listing. Bottom line is that there's new money coming in everyday and no shortage of twitter-famous accounts going on about POS so unless the people at the top hold more than 30%, it really shouldn't be that hard and expensive to get listed. If you want to get on a big exchange like binance, and have no money to get it listed, you're going to have to be willing to cut a deal where you either give them a shitload on consignment and a discount or give them an OTC price at a huge discount and let them have the bulk of the supply, but I think by now it's pretty obvious that binance is the king maker of shitcoin exchanges.

That being said, is topia not re-listing Note after the swap? If not, why?

We are going through the relisting process with them and submitted all information. We are working through the details now, as soon as we have all the details worked out, and an official response we will let everyone know.

That's cool, but why not at least submit the application to binance and/or go through the voting process? I've heard the same stories you have about absurd fees to list there, but also know there's some things you can do that will be more attractive to ChengPeng. I'd be happy to discuss through dm's here or on twitter, but he actually wrote an article on his linked in on how to increase the odds of being listed, such as listing your coin in both btc and bnb. I've done business with China for several years and as long as you're respectful in your communication with them and they feel like they're seeing value in the deal, they'll be interested. If you look at what they've been listing lately, you'll realize that DNOTES is a perfect fit. It's relatively low supply, low sat (they keep adding sub 500sat coins) and the coin is super marketable. Honestly, I'm amazed it's been relegated to topia for as long as it has. The whole reason I bought DNOTES to begin were those reasons, along with active development, the move to POS and an active community. The branding is great, but marketing and community involvement could use some work. I have some ideas you could use after it's relisted to increase its visibility and increase its chances of getting listed on larger exchanges and it would kind of suck for this to end up as a standard issue craptopia lottery bag.

Thanks CryptoM173, do you know when the next contest is?

Update: DNotesVault deposits for DNotes 2.0 and swap are updated, with very few exceptions, your swaps and deposits should now show up for any deposits made more than 24 hours ago.

1009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DNotes 2.0 - 4/2/2018 Now Live on: April 13, 2018, 03:21:42 AM
I just sent an email to DNotes and am waiting for an answer about something crazy that just happened in my wallet after putting in that key earlier. I put it in and it immediately was sent somewhere and then I have a "received with" that perfectly equals another line that showed up with 1046.14 the key was worth 253.86 this equals 1300 notes. That show "received with" in the type box. But does not show up in my Dashboard as a total. So I am confused.
When I put the key in it never got logged in as received with. Just sent to. then the 1300 showed up, but not in my total. it still says 0. Crazy.

I just confused myself typing this. hahaha

No worries, The Chezzz. We will figure it out. Joe is at a meeting. He will look into to it later this evening.

Good to see that you have so much fun with DNotesEDU treasure hunt.

All right this is where we ended up on this crazy event.
1. found a key in the DNotesEDU Blockchain tab at the bottom of the page
2. Copied the key and went to my wallet and attempted to Receive my winnings Smiley
3. 253 DNotes went into my wallet and right back out into another wallet. What was left in my wallet was the history of 1300 DNotes which included the
253 that was supposed to stay in my wallet. At least I think that was the intention of the key I found.
4. Contacted DNotes via email and it was worked on professionally by Joe. He investigated the situation and found the history of these DNotes in DNotes
    explorer.
5. I also found these DNotes by looking up the address in the explorer myself and learned that the address they came from is empty now (with the
history of the 1300 DNotes right there) Then I looked up the other address it went to and found one deposit, You guessed it 253 DNotes,
6. After both of us finding this stuff Joe sent me this in an email and said I could share it with you:
It's not a glitch or anything bad. You simply imported a private key with a history of transactions that occurred on that address.

Scenario:
I deposit 1,300 DNotes into a address.
I remove all but 253 DNotes from that address.
I put that private key online for anyone to import into their wallet.
Someone imports that private key and sees all the history that occurred on the blockchain for that address. Including a deposit for 1,300, and a withdrawal for all but 253 DNotes.

Here is why you see this history:
All transactions happen on the blockchain, this shared ledger. Coins are moved from one address to another. All the wallet does is show the history of the blockchain, and transactions related to the address you assign to it.

7.  I thought it might have been a glitch, but I guess when the key was placed there it was accidentally placed with this information for me to find. I got excited and thought I won 1300 DNotes or at least 253. I guess that if it was meant for me to find in the DNotesEDU game with DNotes in it for me to win I would have got something. What I got was more than that "a good lesson". The DNotesEDU website teaches you even when you're having fun. Even though it was a painful lesson, it was a very informative one. Joe, Thank you for all your work and teaching me some good stuff today.

It is very interesting to see how a game like this can play out and how it demonstrates the inner workings of the blockchain and wallets.

In this case I think someone may have actually beat you to claiming those 253 DNotes. As far as I can tell, that was the amount of DNotes left in the wallet for someone to claim.

So, I have to say, BRAVO DNotes team! This is without a doubt the smoothest major coin update I have been involved in and I have been through many! The level of professionalism and knowledge here is impressive. As a part of DNotes for many years, I have come to expect a higher level of service and integrity and I'm proud to see nothing has changed. Great work everyone, you are setting the bar higher for others who undertake upgrades such as this.

Thanks RJF!

Greatly appreciate the feedback. We are certainly doing our best to make this a smooth transition for all DNotes stakeholders.

Quick question; I assume I can keep sending original DNotes up to the vault for conversion to 2.0 until the 16th correct?

Correct, up to the 16th. After that we will have to have a special process for handling them.

It is fun, but more informative than anything. I have learned so much and then i feel like i haven't learned anything sometimes because this monster Crypto-world)  is so big. HAHAHAHA Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you are having a blast. Back now from my meeting and responded to your emails. We will get it figured out.

I know that makes a lot of work, I'm a developer myself.
But the coin is like a fast car
(Porsche, Ferrari  :-))
If you do not have highways to drive it out, it will not work.
And I think DNOTE 2. 0 is a Porsche !!!  :-)

Great analogy! We may have to drive through a few road blocks then. Hah.

No worries, we are here to make sure everyone can benefit from the success of DNotes, and we will continue to do everything in our power to make DNotes a success. Otherwise, we should have given up before even starting.

Update: I know everyone is waiting patiently for their DNotes 2.0 deposits and swaps. Most have been completed, up till last night, but may not reflect in your DNotesVault balance just yet. I should have that updated tonight.

You can check your DNotes 2.0 address on the block explorer to double check the status of your swaps and deposits.
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/note/

I thank everyone for being so patient, we are dealing with a high volume of support and tasks that need to be accomplished and managing everything to the best of our abilities.
We truly have an excellent community!

If you have any problems or questions, send us an email, contact@dnotescoin.com and we will handle it as soon as we can.

If only 50% of coins are used to stake, then those users could expect approximately 4% growth that year.

if the coin is not listed as fast as possible on well-known exchanges
then the coin is dead.
This is my opinion!

We are working hard to get DNotes 2.0 listed on well-known exchanges. You are welcome to your opinion, however, no matter how fast we can get DNotes 2.0 listed on well-known exchanges will not stop us from pushing DNotes forward.

I have a check mark in my wallet saying that it was sent to my vault and 10 confirmations. How long before it shows up in the vault?

Vault deposits are still manual at this point. Which happens every few days. But you can just plug in your address to the explorer to verify it has arrived:
