Honest question, but what is the end-goal of Xtrabytes?
I got an alert on Telegram from the XBY TG group which is what compelled me to come on Bitcointalk to check, but honestly i've forgotten all about Xtrabytes. I remember it was worth so much back in 2017, but now $5 can easily get you 10k XBY and the volume is near non-existent. Is there some sort of goal that Xtrabytes is aiming for at this point? Also I remember all those guys that were vehemently defending XBY, did they give up on the project or what happened to them? I think the main reason I lost interest is that I had a bunch of profitable ventures+joined a bunch of different communities since I was interested in XBY years ago, but now coming back to look at it the project seems like it's on its deathbed
Also whatever happened to the mods? I can't remember the guy's name, but there was a Reddit mod who used to hang out on Bitcointalk and heavily defend the project, and preached about him having credibility in the Bitcointalk community, is that guy still around? Not even "fudding" the project at this point, but what happened to everyone that used to support this project, and what is XBY even aiming for at this point?
Well, either way, I do wish you guys the best of luck. It's probably a good idea to try to promote XBY more if you guys are still working on it btw, since I doubt many people have even heard of XBY these days

BN, Dave has recently been spotted in Dubai together with his girlfriend. It seems there will be coming a new chapter to the XTRABYTES story, in this chapter the truth will come to the surface which is great news for all the people waiting for answers for so long.
Every time I look up this project, I find nothing but drama lol. It's been 5 years though, has there been any new developments with releasing the tech? or is everything still secretive? I'm always on the CC sub farming moons and talking to the folks on there. 95% of the people on that sub don't even know much about crypto outside of BTC and Eth, and even then, they still don't know much about BTC or Eth or how it works. I would take anything said on there with a grain of salt At this point after 5 years, XBY is probably better off releasing the code and proving that it has a good project. Personally, I would be willing to buy back into the project if things were way less secretive Captain-Nuggets don't you see that you are exposing yourself? You're being so ridiculous... If you hate the project, why are you trolling it? Are you afraid it will succeed?
Outside of the secretiveness of the project, the toxic community was why I lost interest in this project. It's always been filled with blind faith worshippers which bugged me alot, and I see no reason to worship Borzalom as a genius, but I feel like if he released the code after 5 years then it would give the project more credibility. There's way more projects now (20,000+ and counting) out there now, and lots can already do what XBY can currently do (or was able to do), but way better I would love to see this project do good in the future, but I doubt it will be successful in its current state

I'm surprised this project still exists lol
Well, I have to admit that I admire the conviction of the people that want to make this project a reality. I hope it works out for everyone invested in XBY

Recently?
It's like $180
Buying WETH in ronin becomes expensive.
I've heard binance allows that. However, we can't buy WETH in binance. There is no such market.
I think once L2s become more widespread, it should help the gas fees a bit, but the reason that gas fees are high is because ethereum has trouble scaling. The upcoming change to eth 2.0 should also help a bit once sharding goes live, but it's not expected to go live until sometime in 2022.

I haven't checked on Pivx in a while, but it's really nice to see how far the project has come (I originally became interested in this project back when I found out about it on Cryptopia in 2017). Looking over the development updates, it kinda has me interested in staking it
|
|
|
Seems more like a meme project than anything else. I am curious though, what can this project do different than alot of the other projects out there?
Proof of stake seems interesting, but I think for a project like this to take off, it would need to be able to offer something to investors

so anything new to share ?
Nope. The last official announcement in the Discord was back in May. Also the Discord and Telegram chats are still locked. https://ibb.co/fCCVnyq - This was the last official update in the Discord Announcement Channel

Why Obyte has removed the option to buy their interest tokens with Gbyte? Right now the only available option is BTC. It is also impossible to buy v1 tokens like IUSD and such which is not clear to me as the pools filled with them are still in existence. Changing things on the move without warning users is a bad luck for a coin. History with Obyte repeats itself.
I replied to Elon's tweet about Bitcoin using so much energy, asking if Tesla would be interested in becoming a witness in the Obyte network. Chances are near zero he even reads it, but still better then nothing.
Maybe the "green" aspect of Obyte coud get a little more emphasis in the marketing...
Do you really want this manipulator to be on board? lol please never use Elon to manipulate and promote Obyte like he did with Doge. The whole doge thing has been really cancerous, especially on Reddit and Twitter I really think this is a good project and the merits of the project will speak for itself

Well hmm, the discord and telegram are read-only now and i'm just checking in on some old projects atm. Has there been any news about the coinswap or any news on the path forward for this project? It seems like there aren't any active forums besides Reddit and this for the project and I can't find any information on the coinswap that was announced some months ago Btw, I don't see a discord subchannel for the github, when I go to the discord, this is all I see https://ibb.co/m81XHb3

Checking back on this project after a really long time. It's nice to see it still in active development

It doesn't seem like much has happened with this project since the restructure was announced. It's sad to hear about CCR and i've always felt like a single point of failure in this project was bad, but realistically at this point it's a "make or break" moment for it. If the technology is legitimate and the team comes out and wow investors, the project will survive, if they can't, then the project will sink into the annals of history similar to many other projects. The concept of it being a "ethereum killer" probably won't help it much though imo since there's already alot of "ethereum killers" that are far ahead with their own platforms and many hosting defi concepts and projects in their ecosystems Hope everything works out for you guys, but personally I probably won't invest / buy into this project again unless the technology becomes much less obfuscated and can be properly audited and compared to many of the other platforms out there that are available. I would encourage alot of people still invested in this project (if they're in it for the money and not the technology) to take a look at some of the other projects that are active atm too and not to invest solely in this project. Alt season is in full bloom and many projects are up 1000% or more since last year. Rather than focusing solely on this project investment-wise, if you earn money on other alts you could reinvest profits into this project too Just some advice from a old investor of many projects

just remembering the predecessor of Obyte, namely Byteball, you can see that the latter had serious problems with bandwidth in the working network. I wonder how the situation is at the moment with Obyte. Therefore, I am interested in this question
Obyte is Byteball, it was just a rebranded, rest of the project is same, just improved a lot since mainnet launch (works now even on IoT devices). It didn't have and still doesn't have problems with bandwidth, it hardly ever reached even 1% of bandwidth that it could actually do. The difference between then and now is that now Obyte has Autonomous Agents and thanks to that can do Payment Channels, which decreases the need to have small payments on mainnet even more and it even makes these streaming payments almost free (only paying fees for opening/closing the channel). https://github.com/byteball/aa-channels-libNot sure where do you get this bandwidth problem, do you mean the stress test that spammed mainnet in 2018 with hundreds of transactions that all got confirmed at once or you mean the incorrectly done DAGbench test with IOTA and Nano that couldn't even get 1TPS out of Obyte because they were using light obyte.js library for web? Aha, so that's what happened to Byteball. Byteball / Obyte is a pretty old and good project. I hope the developers keep on working on the project into the future.

lack informations in this thread make me scare my friend first i want to know about this project is the team, because i like the subject "The Real Defi" so, would you like to give me a link to see the team from this project
^ this, I think its important to add more information about the project to build trust

hmm i never knew about this stablecoin, but it looks really interesting

I still think eth will probably continue to rise in demand tbh (since you need 32 to PoS). I do think also that it rose kinda fast, so maybe we could see a pullback as well?

Looks to me like no-one is accumulating cheap anymore. Its about time people started realizing this shit is gold platinum. damn went out tonight and got all fucked up!To be honest, I would rather use it because it has good privacy futures, regardless of what the price is lol
|
|
|
Honestly, regardless of what the price of XMR is, XMR is an amazing privacy token. That being said, when the overall crypto marketcap goes up and money flows out of bitcoin, I could see XMR going up quite a bit.

It is time to make an investment on ethereum and hold to earn the profit out of it. Compared to the previous week, the present week have provided with a big growth. I thought of buying when the price was $315, but I believed for a price crash. The predictions didn't come true, and already now I'm in a loss of 50$. Good is to hold understanding the market situation.
I got some around $90 and a bit when it was above $100-ish here (back during the march crash), i'm pretty amazed that it's still going up a bit. I think there's a pullback in the cards though, especially since this is around the time that futures expires. Honestly if it keeps going up though, I think me and alot of people will be happy with that outcome too haha
|
|
|
I am very pleased to see the pumping, Ethereum already crossed $300. I think in running year 2020 Ethereum will hit $1000. What is your opinion?
I hope so, with the 32 eth requirement there seems to be a good amount of demand too. In keeping with past trends, I also feel like we're pretty overdue for a correction.

One of the dirtiest things in the world is money. Each bill has been handled by thousands of people. So, the government will state that money is spreading Covid. They will require you to turn in your $dollars. All the big stores will go along with them and not accept money any longer. Your money will be replaced by an electronic system... maybe a debit card, or maybe they will chip you, or maybe it'll simply be a barcode on your forehead or in your hand. Less chance for you to spread Covid. This is coming starting 2021. Mmm...but isn't that even more of a reason that people should start looking at cryptocurrency? With the amount of spending going on gov't-wise, I can imagine the inflation post covid being pretty insane too.
