1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: List Of The Longest Forum Signature Campaign Above 100wk That Left/Still Active on: Today at 01:42:13 AM
The bitmixer campaign was going on for at least 3 years (~150 weeks). Although it was a mixer, I understand it was seized, so there really isn't much point in censoring discussions about it (anyone going to their website will likely end up at the seizure notice).

Bitmixer it was not seized. The owner himself decided to stop working without any pressure. The reason was what is quite current today, the misuse of the mixer service
We cannot deny that he seemed somewhat prophetic

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2042470
You are correct, that is my mistake. Either way, censoring any link to bit mixer doesn't make a lot of sense because the underlying link will not lead to a working service.
2  Other / Meta / Re: Wouldn't it be nice for edited posts to reflect on wherever it was quoted? on: Today at 01:32:29 AM
That is not how the quote feature works. When you "quote" a post, you can make the post say whatever you want it to say. The text inside the quote box is not linked to the original post in the database.
3  Economy / Reputation / Re: QS - 10 years on the forum on: May 23, 2024, 08:46:11 PM
Your last couple of PM to me seemed to suggest your were retiring this UID. Have you changed your mind?
I looked in my outbox, and this is the only PM I sent to you in the past several years:
hi,

i removed the reference to chipmixer in my signature. I am not active much anymore
I don't anticipate being particularly active in the future. Based on some of the responses in the thread of a spammer crying about hilarious removing posts (he wasn't even the mod who removed the posts), it looks like there is still a lot of trash posts.

Oh, it looks like you are gearing up to apply for an sig campaign after all.
No, I don't anticipate being active enough to participate in an sig deal. Although I think I probably could get into a campaign if I tried. It's a moot point either way.

And yes, my post was funny, thank you for the LOL

Rams53
Are you a Rams fan? They have a decent roster this year, even with Donald's retirement. At a minimum, I think they will do better than my Panthers, but that is not a very high bar...
4  Other / Meta / Re: Hilariousandco, moderator of Jeetscointalk, i'm calling you out on: May 21, 2024, 05:29:20 AM
I have a couple of questions:
1 - what is Jeetscointalk?
2 - how do you know that hilarious was the one who deleted the two posts in question?

I am not sure where the thread those posts were posted in are, so I can't get the full context, but based on your screenshots, I would say your posts were probably removed for being low-effort/value. I would suggest putting more effort into your posts.

Here are links to the deleted posts

https://ninjastic.space/post/64097254
https://ninjastic.space/post/64102073

Both posts were written in the Bitcoin Discussion section, this section has one moderator.
Gotcha. It probably isn't unreasonable for the OP to believe that hilarious removed his posts, although this is not necessarily actually the case.

After reading the threads in question, it appears the underlying root cause the OP's posts were removed is because they are low value posts. If I had to guess, I would say the OP is trying to sow discord about Hilarious.

Is this the return of TMAN?  Oh my oh my.
It would be pretty cool if he was, but I don't think he is. As SilverCryptoBullet mentioned, TMAN liked to use "pajeet" and the OP used "jeet". Although the two words are somewhat similar, they are transparently different words.

I think if TMAN were to decide to return to the forum, he would access the forum login page on his browser, immidiately enter the passphraise to his account, and start posting from his TMAN account.

If someone wants to place a monitory bet on the OP being TMAN, maybe Rodger Ver could mediate the bet once he crosses the boarder into the US.
5  Economy / Reputation / Re: QS - 10 years on the forum on: May 20, 2024, 10:21:40 PM

I didn't realize DarkStar_ had left the forum, so that's something I just learned.
His profile says he is on an extended break, and that there will be long delays in responses.

A lot of those members had strong presences here and established reputations, and I think they also added to the spiciness bitcointalk used to have some years ago, which for the most part is gone.
yes, a lot of those I mentioned were notable members when I remember them being here. Them being gone makes things feel very different.

By the way, if you wanted replies you probably shouldn't have made this thread self-moderated.  Just saying.
I didn't think self-moderation would be a big deal, and was done to prevent the spammers, and trolls, but I removed it a few days ago.

You missed TMAN on the list.
I thought about him, but given the fact that he was last active in March 2020, at the height of the pandemic, and last posted a month prior, I have long assumed that he may have been lost to covid. IIRC, he lived in Europe, which was pretty bad around that time. This is speculation, and I don't have any specific information about him.

It's good to see you around again QS. Time goes by really fast.
I hope you are in good mental health. Money can be lost and earned again, but health is more important than anything else. The more time goes by, the more I realize that. Enjoy your time.
Its nice to see you too EFS.

Just looked my 10 year mark here was a few months ago. Didn't even remember. Congrats on making it a decade.

Just had my 25th anniversary on another forum.

And dang I'm old just looked and had 30+ anniversary on another. Signed up when the only way to surf was a on Lynx which is a text only browser on a site (if you could even call it that) that had no name only IP address to get to it. But damn we traded a lot of hardware on it.

-Dave

I have not really been active on any other forum as much as I have been here. I have a reddit account, but I really have barely ever even lurked there. There's stack overflow, but I really am not even logged in when I search for something, so I am not even sure if I would consider myself to be a 'member' there.

Congrats on your decade here!

I can say however that my North Star has always been what I believed to be right at the time.

I see your honesty has not changed.  :/     You wrote many things you knew were not true, based on the politics at the time.

After I was promised help, I removed trust on you and left the forum.  (The offer of help was a lie so I came back).  I received PMs warning me against you.  Now I see they were correct- you are the same dishonest thief you were ten years ago.
I am not really sure what you are talking about. I see that you decided to leave a negative rating for me for this thread. I have not traded here in a long time, barely even post anymore, so the rating is not going to affect me. I hope it makes you feel better.

I'm willing to forgive and forget, but the first thing you could do to help that along would be to admit that PrimeNumber7 is your alt account.
Looking at the post history, it doesn't look like that account is very active here recently either. It looks like the post he made 20 posts ago was in June of last year.

Yeah I'm surprised too. Any chance you can sign a message from one of your old bitcoin addresses?
I probably could if it was a big deal. Doing so would involve buying a power cable for an old MacBook, so it would take a few days if I needed to. Either way, I am not planning on doing any kind of business.

Wow, I remember this topic was self-moderated, how did you do it?
I removed the self-moderation by moving the thread to a section that does not allow self-moderation (meta in my case), and back here.

One other thing that I wanted to mention was the woodcollector saga. The dude was definitely misrepresenting that he was "hand carving" (or whatever the specific claim with his "hands" was) his pieces, but he did make interesting art pieces related to bitcoin. Once he was called out for his dishonesty, a lot of drama followed, and eventually, he turned into a very good troll. It was just one memory I have of the forum.

thank you to the others who I did not directly respond to.

It doesn't look like it was quite up for 2 years, but the primedice campaign was one of the best back in the day, especially if you could make a lot of good posts, although it was also one of the worst for the forum because a lot of people spammed with it, sadly.

Its interesting that one has been running for nearly 10 years!

8  Economy / Reputation / QS - 10 years on the forum on: May 18, 2024, 05:49:59 AM
Hi everyone,

In about two months, I will have been on the forum for 10 years. I have not been able to spend much time on the forum recently, certainly nowhere near as much time as I have in the past, and I am not sure I would remember to visit on my anniversary, so I figured I would create a thread today.

Time sure does fly when you are having fun. It is hard to believe it was 10 years ago when I first joined the forum. It is an understatement to say that a lot has changed over the years. A lot of people have lost their reputation they spent years building up, sometimes for good reason, often times not. A handful of people have been arrested for reasons related to their involvement in their Bitcoin-related activities. Sadly, some of the forum members I had the opportunity to get to know and talk to have died. I honestly cried when I saw that o_e_l_e_o had locked his goodbye/farewell thread.

Sadly, many seem to have actually left the forum, despite that they say that no one really leaves. BadBear, tomatocage, shorena, Blazr, escrow.ms, DarkStar, monbux, redsn0w, devthedev, Lauda, Dogedigital, blazed, MadZ, Muhammed Zakir, marcotheminer, xetsr, dogie, Vod seems to have left, and somewhat recently returned. There are others I have forgotten. If you have left, and happen to read this, maybe you can stop by to say hello, lol.

It is sad to see someone who was last active in 2020. The world was turned upside-down due to covid.

I certainly have made mistakes during my time on the forum. I can say however that my North Star has always been what I believed to be right at the time.

Anyway, I hope that everyone is doing well.
9  Economy / Reputation / Re: Vod is a liar & extortionist. Get him out of DT! on: January 13, 2024, 06:57:12 PM
This thread was opened 5 years ago yesterday. I am surprised that both sides are still going at it with each other after all this time.

I think it’s best for everyone involved to just drop it.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: All about "stuck" transactions and what you can do to fix them on: December 19, 2023, 07:25:36 PM
Can my name please be removed from the OP? I have not been able to help with stuck transactions for years and still receive messages asking for help
11  Economy / Reputation / Re: 10 Years on: August 06, 2023, 03:52:38 PM
Congratulations on ten years on the forum. Things sure have changed a lot over the past decade.

I haven’t been active much as of lately, but I do like to stop by from time to time and read various posts. My ten year anniversary will be in about a year.

I am sure you have been able to learn a lot over your time here. I know I have.

Good times.
12  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vulnerability: The curious case of the half-half Bitcoin ECDSA nonces on: June 15, 2023, 05:49:58 AM

Interesting that they have linked all this to the forum user amaclin.
It looks like he was using his own custom software when he was implementing his scans and made some bad choices when signing transactions.

It makes sense though. He often needed to monitor the blockchain and take specific action based on particular activity as part of his scams.
13  Other / Meta / Re: What happened with user fbeyvgnobo? on: January 04, 2023, 08:02:39 AM
Both accounts still exist, and neither will be deleted. The names associated with both accounts have changed. Most likely, the UID is the primary key in the forum database in the members table. However, BPIP appears to log changes based on the account name. There isn't any rule against changing a p key, but it is best if they are immutable.

I am not sure if it is possible to track changes to trust lists based on the UID. In any case, BPIP appears to have failed to detect the name change and included entries on its log that did not actually happen.
14  Other / Meta / Re: *END* Post history review offer on: December 07, 2022, 07:10:45 PM
I sent you 50 merit, so you can give out 25 sMerit to deserving forum members, either via your original initiative or otherwise.
15  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A direct threat to US: Should Pelosi go Taiwan or not? on: August 04, 2022, 07:45:49 PM
Nancy should call Vinnie's bluff and just go. There's no way China would take any military action against the US, they're not suicidal.
China may not attack Pelosi (they likely have too much dirt on her for them to want her dead). But they may use the trip as a pretext for an invasion. They are already conducting live fire drills around the island that could escalate to a blockade
16  Economy / Lending / Re: BTC loan needed [30-day Loan] on: July 03, 2022, 05:44:14 AM
What type of collateral do you have to offer?

a vehicle

That's not collateral for a loan you're taking through a forum. If you have enough Bitcoin that you can use as collateral I will give you the loan.

unfortunately i dont... what other digital goods/services would you take as collateral ?

I'm only taking crypto as collateral, you can visit my thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5403092.0
Because your account is brand new I can't give a no collateral loan and I'm sure nobody else will be able to fulfill your request, unless crypto collateral is offered,

i was able to get $100 btc for collateral would that be ok for you ?
What exactly makes you think that $100 is sufficient collateral for a $800 loan? Especially considering that it will not be possible for basically all lenders to verify your identity.
17  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin’s unspent transaction outputs (UTXO) and its long-term implications on: June 08, 2022, 08:23:42 PM
Many miners reluctant to accept zero-fee transactions, so in effect no transaction's inputs and outputs are equal anymore and still getting into the blockchain.
It's not that miners won't accept zero fee transactions, but rather that nodes won't accept them. The miners won't even see the zero fee transactions because nodes will reject them and refuse to relay them to other nodes. Zero fee confirmations are still perfectly valid, and miners are quite happy to include their own zero fee transactions. For example, here are a couple from a recent block:
https://mempool.space/tx/bf1b227593c148f6c350ba4eb13422747d337421df3776976ab569864d22a2cc

I don't think most miners will be willing to accept zero fee transactions, even if they were aware of them. Unless they were receiving a fee via some channel outside of the transaction.

"...increases in the warmer bands suggest that coins that were previously held are now on the move and indicate a higher velocity of the monetary base.
According to traditional economic theory, higher velocity, ceteris paribus, leads to higher prices of a monetary base. We can also consider situations where longer-term holders moving “cold” coins to sell them should correlate with lower prices. Conversely, there should be a positive relationship between changes in older age bands and price: an increase in older bands suggest that individuals are holding more Bitcoin and therefore should correlate to higher prices."
Monitoring for moved coins is more difficult than looking at the age of particular inputs without additional context. Exchanges for example, will keep most of their customer deposits in cold storage, and this cold storage may not move for a long time, even if the sum total of withdrawals from the exchange is very large, if the exchange receives more deposits than withdrawal requests. Some people may also have sent their bitcoin to cold storage years ago, and with the advent of new technology, they may decide to create new private keys via various means that were not previously available (hardware wallets, for example).

It appears you get points for each correct answer, however the affect of each correct answer appears to decay.

Now that my IQ is proven to be sufficiently high, I can officially post.
