1  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Any Canadian lawyers willing to represent on contingency? on: November 20, 2018, 11:30:45 PM
Thanks..

I agree the nature of the business will have little outcome on the matter, but i'd think the fact that it's a bitcoin mine would make it relevant for this forum, coupled with the nature of the query.

I can be contacted at council@writeme.com if anyone prefers to avoid having documented pm's on this forum.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum solo mining on: November 20, 2018, 11:11:15 PM
there are many reasons not to solo mine.

the ones given by most here are poor and uninformed, or just disinformation to get you to allow pools to take over your hash power.

if you're asking here you're probably not technically adept enough to set this up on your own.

pm someone or do proper research and come back with specific questions about where you get stuck or what you can not understand.
3  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Any Canadian lawyers willing to represent on contingency? on: November 16, 2018, 09:51:59 AM
The data center in question is actually just a bitcoin mine despite the owners recent ramblings about "AI" processing which they actually have little to no actual understanding of.

I've been involved in crypto in some capacity since discovering the alt.cypherpunk newsgroup and later the distributed.net challenges that came about but am not a "business man" of any capacity.

Just was psyched to turn a hobbey into large production and help secure the network but really dissapointed to find the greed and ignorance driving industry right now.

I have consulted many and feedback from unbiased and honest parties is that this company would crumble under legal scrutiny of this matter.. but being previous attournies the directors will do all they can to tie the matter up in courts for as long as possible.

Unfortunately they are unbiased because for one reason or another, despite their expertise they are unable to represent me in this matter.

Ultimately the generous contract means an outcome is worth while and its more than likely that a bid to hit the toronto stock exchange will force negotiations to a quick conclusion.
4  Bitcoin / Legal / Any Canadian lawyers willing to represent on contingency? on: November 16, 2018, 07:45:32 AM
Obviously its a tough sell getting a firm to subscribe to any non injury based claim on contingency, but my circumstances are extraordinary.

The slimeball ex-lawyers that started a data center, relocated me from across the country to make heads or tails of a rats nest of a facility they had thrown together..

I did such a great job, my efforts were recognized in the form of monetary rewards, company options and new titles.

Ultimately I was the Chief Information Officer of the company before Siicone Valley investors got duped into parting with millions and I quickly became a target to eliminate.

Not ever being manager in the past, let alone executive, it wasent long before they played games and fabricated cause on flimsy allegations to dismiss me which they did without severence or leu of notice.

All my hard work turning a leaky, unmanageable safety disaster into a working facility was quickly thrown out the window.

I'm now stuck in the Canadian sub arctic and cant afford legal representation cause my ample salary was soaked up in making a home of the new province I was shuttled off to, a livelyhood I was abruptly severed from less than a year later despite two promotions and the companies insistance that I change my living address to one over 2000kms and two provinces away.

Since the Atlantic provinces are such a boys club, even if I could afford an hourly rate barrister I have been turned away due to conflicts of interest.

Contractually I have $250k due if dismissed without legal cause and $15k that was blatantly left unpaid in a simple breach of contract.

And a quarter percent of the company in options with another half percent alloted annually (due december).

This is before any punative damages a judge would leap to tack on to a ruling for the hainous behaviour that took place afterwards.

I've got all kinds of evidence from audio recordings of botched "investigation interviews" from people who have no business acting as HR staff, and an exported email inbox and suspicious company financials.

Looking forward to pm's.. figure at the very least it will cost the company a fine sum of bitcoin to pay off whoever chimes in and is interested in filing against this group.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Reduces Block Reward | ETH GPU Mining Will No Longer Be Profitable on: September 09, 2018, 11:13:08 PM
such a doom and gloom post.

profits will diminish.

the difficulty bomb has begun to take effect, so you can expect at least 10% faster blocks (2 second average) after fork.

plus due to the diminished block reward some farms hanging in the balance will be closing shop and selling their wares.

there are plenty of markets that will still be profitable with gpu's and E3's.

we're all on borrowed time anyways casper's POS was assumed implemented in full this time last year..

there is always classic for the holdouts if they care to adjust their philosophy to match where the money flows.

the block halving comment was interesting but its generally in 2-3 year intervals.. and dictated from genesis block. this is a bit more contreversial as the devs have some back and forth to decide how to move forward.

I like the decision, and I mine. its inportant not have have all your eggs in one basket as well as understanding perspective of the big picture.

Looking at the "Average Block Time" chart over at etherscan shows that the difficulty bomb hasn't started yet. Our average block times are still around 14-15 seconds unlike 30 seconds last Oct-Nov.

So this issuance wont be like last year where we get reduced rewards but faster block times, it will basically cut profits by 33%.

I also glanced over the hashrate chart and it seems like it's going down a little, I think last June we had this difficulty. However it could all still be variance.

hrmm I thought it was to be between 12-13 seconds. just rechecked the white paper and can not find this value any where.

stand corrected.

casper with 2 second blocks will be nice.

it seems like a modular enough design, I wouldent be surprised if they robbed full size z9 units to create z9mini counterparts if the sales were sluggish.

I think smaller appliance tyle asics are good for crypto, entry level investors and the manufacturer as well.. by selling more chassis and control boards you are increasing your profit margins.

would love to see similarly competative sha256 and ethash solutions.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: August 09, 2018, 05:58:17 AM
wow where are you guys getting your builder bob expertise from?

a/c units utilize whats known as an "A" coil evaporator.. its built in line to the flow of air in your duct work. if you "pushed" air through the evap coild you would be cooling the exhaust or return air flow of your circulating system, quite defeating the purpose of getting cental air.

if you are talking about the condensor coil outside the home, yes in general I would consider they pull air because it more evenly draws air through the fins.

data centers facilitate whatever the cooling configuration of the room is.. if a hot/cold isle dc is in effect you arent going to exhaust your hot air into the cold isle. 1/2/3/4u chassis only mount to racks in one direction. mostly dealing with supermicro equipment its all been preconfigured to push air across board/components.

ideally though push is a more efficient system. automotive research has proven this fact.. but airflow is a tricky thing and a proper fan shroud will make or break your cooling system.

on my old s7 single fan unit I have noticed reversing airflow aided performance.. not sure why but it didnt adversly affect the lifespan of the unit.

I made some posts about it if anyone cares to check history.

anyone else getting corrupt dag issues?

seems to correct itself promptly but still concerning for brand new units mining eth.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Tahiti GPUs (Radeon 7950 / 7970 / 280X / 7990 ) Owners Appreciation Thread on: July 25, 2018, 12:29:15 AM
great idea for a thread.

7950's were to mining what satoshi was to crypto.

legends in their own accord.

i had a platoon of sapphire dual-x i picked up new and used back in the day that i since resold but kept one of my gigabyte models that i customized with some extra heatsinks.

if there is ever a grass roots mining convention it certainly should hold its inauguration in Tahiti.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 200+ GPU in a container - Cooling possible ? Some Feedbacks ? on: July 18, 2018, 11:30:41 PM
you can liken cooling a room with air to pumping water through a chamber.

the size/placement of the inlet, exhaust and most importantly the chamber itself as well as the components that need the airflow to reach them are all vital factors.

just throwing a cfm fan rating around is pretty short sighted.

its good to guess though Smiley how hot is your garage these days philip?
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain E3 Ethash Miner ASIC (Shipping:16-31 July. $800 USD) on: July 18, 2018, 09:38:59 PM
i've always experienced a mean average of what my miner hashrate reports..

havent mined on ethermine for ages though.

be careful of what mining software you use.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain E3 Ethash Miner ASIC (Shipping:16-31 July. $800 USD) on: July 15, 2018, 02:57:01 PM
the ethereum mining network is extremely vast.

I dont think a few rounds of these particular asics will affect the difficulty all that much.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How hold stake amount in pos, with no split after reward on: July 08, 2018, 12:58:38 PM
you can always create a new wallet and resend all new funds to your new wallet address.

This will get you back to the weight of a quicker stake but you will lose whatever age the split wallets have accured prior to consolidation.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Don't be a fool - Stop mining on ETHPOOL right now on: July 08, 2018, 12:48:24 PM
I don't see why uncle rewards cant just be distributed in the same manner as normal rewards.

Ethpool came about when people grew tired of the overly complicated and obscure payout lottery implemented by the parent pool ethermine.org.

It was pretty clear to me from the start that any admin using this system is not someone I would trust with any major hash power.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain E3 Ethash Miner ASIC (Shipping:16-31 July. $800 USD) on: May 26, 2018, 03:28:02 AM
guys its not a conspiracy, they change the price according to the value of the coin.

if the crypto the coin mined decreased in value or there was a drastic mining difficulty jumps, the cost of the unit is ajusted to compensate.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to level playing field in mining> on: May 26, 2018, 01:39:22 AM
its an idea but doing it in a way that isn't centralized is difficult to implement.

hell even with centralization its near impossible to reliably implement.

this is the fake generation, keep trying.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to level playing field in mining> on: May 26, 2018, 12:07:16 AM
that would be proof of identity.. which isnt alltogether a bad thing..

but individuality is enough.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Setup Your Own Private Mining Pool, Don't Waste Hash on: May 26, 2018, 12:03:35 AM
is this an implementation of mpos or nomp?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to level playing field in mining> on: May 25, 2018, 11:45:52 PM
ethos is great but what we really need is proof of individuality.

ip address is not the answer.
