The network has been halted again.  When are they going to sort this issue out?

So what's new with this project and what is the future roadmap going forward?  The price is a stable baseline low and I'm wondering if it's worth getting into...

I haven't been keeping up lately.  Any news of the release of a lite wallet?
4  Other / Meta / Re: Any penalty for selling merit? Missing on "Merit FAQ" on: March 22, 2018, 10:51:12 PM
Should I remove the red trust knowing the person sold the merits?
No, you should not.  Not even if they send you a message telling you their kids will starve to death because of your feedback (because that's a lie, as is any idiotic plea like that).

I've started tagging obvious merit abusers, because after thinking about this whole issue ever since the inception of the merit system, I've decided that abusing it is exactly what I was trying to fight when it got created--the ability of shitposters to participate in campaigns and thereby spread their Engrish manure all over the forum.

It's so obvious, it's derp.  When these people get merits they don't deserve, they're going to rank up, earn more money in campaigns, and have incentive to keep doing this shit.  So I'm negging them, and I hope DT members keep doing it as well, AND I hope that the sig campaigns keep not accepting users with DT negatives.
This guy is obviously going to listen to you because he seems to have an extreme hard on for following any rule regardless of circumstance.  Everyone is automatically guilty.  Nevermind that it was an honest mistake that I admitted.  Nevermind that the rules had poor implementation and explanation.  Nevermind anything else, RULES must follow rules at all costs!!11! no wiggle room for anything else!

I mean seriously, where is the understanding in some people.  The admins out of the blue created a bunch of new rules out of nowhere and gave everyone some points.  I don't even recall a description of how it all worked being mandatory.  Why isn't there a description somewhere each time you use them or a PM/email that was sent to everyone?  You know like in red letters saying something to the effect of "careful using merit points, misuse will drive people crazy and swarm on you like a hive of bees falling into your lap!"  If that happened I don't even remember it.  So I explained in detail how it went down and basically said whoops my bad guys, won't happen again.  Can you be a bit understanding about the whole thing?  NOPE, fuck you Sparky you're a piece of shit die slow and here is your negative trust.  No messages, no warnings, just bam here you go.  I just can't be ok with something like that.

Rules of this forum were given by Theymos and this forum also was created by him. If you think it's stupid, why you still there? Merit system won't help improving this forum Huh I don't know what's happening with your mind Smiley. It's preventing account farmer and shitposter in this forum. If you still complain about it, why don't you leave this forum? This isn't the only Bitcoin forum or you still want to stay here cause it's the only forum that you can earn money with? LOL. Stop explaining Wink
didn't satoshi create this forum...
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5.0

Why would I or anyone for that matter leave this forum just because we don't like one part of it or some of the people here, that doesn't make any sense.  No place is perfect, mr passive aggressive.  If we've been here years through all the spammers and scammers a stupid little forum point system like merits is nothing in comparison.  The points don't matter, the ranks don't matter, the badges or any other nonsense doesn't matter.  We're here to communicate with each other about crypto and for better or worse this is the biggest and best place to get information about it.  That's all the matters in the end.

Anyways, I'm done.  This whole thing is spiralling into off topic land.
6  Other / Meta / Re: Any penalty for selling merit? Missing on "Merit FAQ" on: March 22, 2018, 09:01:11 PM
Well yes you did explain yourslef and it is against the rules to sell merit as a merit source. I would question why OP ever brought this to this thread as it just serves the hijack it and is a little off topic (hence why I tried to diffuse it - arguably unsuccessful) @OP keep stuff to one thread, don't duplicate.

The entire merit system is flawed, it was a good idea however it was executed in the wrong way I think (though Theymos did try at getting rid of spammers and it did sort of work).

And based on your post on that thread, yes you would lose it (apparenlty) anyway but using it up on a user is buys it makes it much less valuable than awarding it to someone because they made a post that you strongly agree with or believe is of good quality enough to earn those merits.
Well thanks for the first level headed reply, everyone else seemed out for blood regardless of what I said or how I said it.  "rules rules, nothing else matters muh rules1111!!"  Also I'm not a merit source, I think that means someone who generates it constantly if I'm remembering it right?  I just wanted to offload the merit I initially received when the system was activated because I had no idea when it even expired, that wasn't stated anywhere I saw.  I wasn't a fan of it and wanted to get rid of it, going 1 by 1 would've taken forever as I did receive a fair amount initially.  But yes I understand your point about how it should ideally work in regards to handing it out to deserving posts.  I didn't look over the rules indepth too much at first and just assumed they were given to each us and we could use them however we saw fit.  I honestly didn't think it would cause such a fuss with what I did, lesson learned.  Some of you guys take these internet points very seriously.
7  Other / Meta / Re: Clearly merit farming/trading is happening. on: March 22, 2018, 08:46:33 PM
Your explaination is useless Smiley. I don't get anything from it except you're a merit seller or alt of BarkingHawk. Don't think that mdayonliner is wasting his time Smiley. He's trying to improve this forum by detecting cheater and abuser whom are trying to take advantage of this forum to earn money to avoid this forum gonna be ruined, of course this is the thing Moderators and admin need cause they have so many things to do in this forum so they can't handle everthing at the same time. Don't worry, no need to explain anymore, you'll get what you deserve Smiley
"get what i deserve"?  What is wrong with you people?  You have some serious problems.  You act like because I didn't follow some stupid little new rule they just made up that I wasn't even aware of that it's the same like I ran over a bunch of kids with my car or something.  Oh that Sparky guy he is so evil.  lol, wow.

I'll make it simple, anyone negs me for this silly little episode and I'll neg you right back.  This whole thing is ridiculous and shouldnt've even gone this far.

You want to actually improve the forum?  Merit system won't do it.  Get the mods to ban and remove more posts like they do everywhere else, take reddit for exmaple.  Get more mods if there aren't enough, crypto made everyone rich and they can afford it.  This forum has the lowest moderation and highest spam of any I've ever been on, so many genuinely useless spammers get away with so much here that they wouldn't anywhere else.  That's how you solve it.  Playing small town merit police isn't the answer.
8  Other / Meta / Re: Any penalty for selling merit? Missing on "Merit FAQ" on: March 22, 2018, 08:24:47 PM
If anyone else sells merit, I assume a member like Vod or Lauda (or anyone else on DT) will happily red them if they find all accounts involved as negging a throwaway doesn't really do much.

Assume you are saying giving red trust to the guy SparkyU was not any injustice from my side.

If they sold merit thein their red trust is deservant.

You might want to post a summary of your thread or a link to your thread here if you haven't already done so just to ensure everything is in a centralised list.

Though you have to take trust as something that's a bit useless sometimes unless it is considerably valid. Take a look at my negative ratings to show you an example (my favourite is the final negative rating I got on here - I got a negative for not reading someone's username and analysing it before I made a post rediculous huh?).
I actually explained myself on his thread of why it WASN'T deserving, but he was unwilling to accept my explanation and simply resorted to dismissing me and name calling. The whole merit system is new, still heavily flawed with some rules not even clearly explained, and obsessing about it like some people are is frankly a bit ridiculous.  I mean look at this mdayonline guy, why are so many of his posts about merits?  This is a crypto forum, people should discussing more important things than going round and round about some minor rules.  If you want to solve the spam/low quality posts problem then getting more mods or having the mods ban more people who are clearly getting away with murder would be WAY more effective.  This is one of the most lax moderation forums I've ever been on, also one of the worst in terms of spam.
9  Other / Meta / Re: Clearly merit farming/trading is happening. on: March 22, 2018, 07:18:14 PM
Sigh.  You just don't get it, it's not some trickery.  I tried to explain my situation first and the PM was all about giving you a chance, one that you didn't even bother to give me before negging me.  Enjoy yours then if you can't be anything but rude, I never called you insulting names. You seem to lack basic comprehension of what I'm saying and compassion.

Again, you're judging me thinking you're somehow better because some of my posts don't meat your arbitrary high standards.  Then all almost 900 of my posts must be worthless right? Get off your high horse, what a joke.  Thinking I have to somehow prove myself to, you don't mean anything.  There are almost an endless string of actual spammers and crooked people on this forum and you're choosing to give me a hard time.  You're going to have a very difficult time here if this is how you choose to interact with people.

Enjoy your neg, I'm done talking to you.  If you have a problem with any of my actions report me to the moderators or staff next time as they're the ones who actually make the real decisions around here and not people like you trying to play their role.....poorly.

----------------
Lastly I'll say on the merit system in general, it's a poor format.  If moderation was what it is like on many other forums there wouldn't be a need for it at all.  There are so many things that happen here that generally don't at many other places.  I'm not sure why that is exactly, but it happens regardless.  Spammers are allowed to have free reign with little consquences, at other places they are banned very swiftly.  Places that deal with even more web traffic.  Moderation here needs to be way more harsh.  Crypto has exploded, surely it can't be because of understaffing.   Spend some money or something and hire more mods if that's the issue.  Spammers will get tired of making accounts if you're quick to get rid of them but I've seen almost nothing done in some many cases so they just do whatever they want.

What are you trying to explain for? As I can see, you're not a DT member so your negative feedback will not affect to him. Beside When I looked at your Merit summary, I can ensure that you're alt account of BarkingHawk or you sold your Merit for him Smiley. 75 Merit points for 2 old trash replies posted when Merit system even wasn't created yet? No need to explain about your Merit summary anymore cause everybody will know about it when they take a look at your Merit history.
I already explained all this in my other posts in this thread, you didn't read them.
10  Other / Meta / Re: Clearly merit farming/trading is happening. on: March 22, 2018, 05:53:22 PM
Listen up good mdayonliner.

First of all, you are not the staff, you are not Satoshi or anyone who started this forum.  You're just some guy wasting time on a power trip obsessing about some trivial new rules that joined the forum a few months ago.  I've been here for years involved in crypto, you are in no place to judge me or my intentions.  You really should be focusing on something more important than this with your life.  I don't really have to explain myself to you, but I will anyways to induldge anyone that is listening and might think this is something important, which it's not.

Again, I didn't even want these merits to begin with.  If they never existed and the forum never gave them to me that would've been just fine, I couldn't care less.  Because of this whole thing they're way more trouble that they're worth with everyone bitching and moaning.  "here have some free stuff but you can only use it in a certain way or you're in trouble!"  What joke, you can keep it then.  It was just something free that fell out of the sky like an airdrop that I got rid of, I don't want them and have none left now.  Even if I didn't have a high rank I would still be here discussing crypto and I would be involved in crypto.  This forum is here to discuss ideas and communicate with each other.  All the ranks and merits and blah blah is a bunch of superfluous nonsense, you're getting way too caught up on that.  You don't have these kinds of ranking systems on other communication platforms like telegram for example because they don't matter, the words and messages matter.

Yeah I noticed people using merits, but again I don't care so I didn't pay all that much attention.  I still didn't look into the rules deeply after that because it was a waste of my time.  It's some meaningless self validation junk such as likes on facebook or thumbs up on reddit, who gives a shit.  I did multiple trades because that's how he wanted it done, again I didn't think about it too much.  That's all the explanation that is necessary, nit picking every minute detail is some ocd level of obsession.

I stand by what I said in that PM I sent you, negging me is completely uncalled for.  I don't have any more merit left and I won't be using it again if I do get some more.  From what I see the system is heavily flawed and not worth participating in if it results in things like this that are wasting even more of my time.
11  Other / Meta / Re: Clearly merit farming/trading is happening. on: March 22, 2018, 03:30:35 PM
Case#1
Joe-Niner, BarkingHawk and SparkyU should really have an explanation!!!  Shocked
I tagged the first two of those idiots, who are quite obviously engaged in merit abuse.  Both of them have only written one-line shitposts exclusively, which indicates to me that they're on bitcointalk for the money, and not for the community, knowledge dissemination, discussion, or any other good reason.

The third one, SparkyU, I'm not so sure about--and my feedback doesn't carry weight anyway.

OP, I do appreciate you taking the time to point out merit abusers, and yeah I think everyone is aware at this point that there's gaming of the system going on.  That was to be expected on a forum where scamming isn't banned, trust abuse is rampant, people think it's just peachy that one individual can take 2 sides of a 3-sided escrow deal, and account sellers thrive.  But let's knock 'em down one by one.  Thanks for identifying these guys.
My response is...
1. I didn't know anything I was doing was against any rules, I thought your merits were your own and you could do whatever you wanted with them.  If that isn't the case then I have to plead ignorance and I sincerely wasn't aware of it.  I guess I have to look over the merit rules more in depth since everyone seems to be throwing a hissy fit.  I had other concerns at the time when merits were introduced and didn't really read much up on it.

2. I was contacted asking if someone could trade for my merits.  I said sure, why not.  Again I didn't have much interest in them so I got rid of them as my understanding was you're going to lose them at some point anyways.  Use them or lose them.  I've been on other forums with similar point systems where you could trade them without issue.

People are acting like it's some malicious plot, lol.  It's not that serious to me, I didn't honestly give it another thought until one of those guys sent me a message there was a thread about it.  Also OP should've messaged me too if it was such an issue, instead he decided to neg me without any communication.  What a real nice guy...

Like you mentioned The Pharmacist, there are a lot more serious things going on in the forum that people should be fighting against first.

I don't think it is logical to try pos with current ratios.

I am not going to let my pc open for days just to get 2-3 sirx.
At the least I think it should have cumulative stakes.  Run the wallet for 12hrs one day and another 12 the next day would be the same as running it a full day towards rewards.  How things are now you lose any time put in if it isn't 24/7 before hitting a stake.

Where is the main office of this project?
Office, lol.  Judging by the way things are going it's probably being done from someone's basement whenever they have some free time.

Has anybody get his POStokens during last 2-3 weeks?
The lending platform stopped sending out withdrawals for a few weeks now, everyone has that same problem.

Nice to see some green in Nano's Chart. What i love withi this project is, even if market would experience a 95% crash, I'd still be on profit zone. Good luck to you guys and keep pushing, 2018 can be Nano's year

At present, NANO seems to be in a stage of rising weakness. When bitcoin quickly recovered, NANO seemed to have no strength to keep up with the rhythm.
You're too concerned with what's happening in the short term.  Any solid project has ups and downs, but long term always makes a big climb.  If you believe in Nano, or any crypto for that matter, just buy low and wait however long it takes.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best exchange on: March 20, 2018, 12:14:27 AM
Binance is the best one out there right now.  Many of the other exchanges have enforced KYC to be able to trade.  Binance still believe in the old days, but who knows for how long.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀[ANN][PoSToken]First PoS Smart Contract Token[Lending Platform Available] on: March 19, 2018, 06:08:59 PM
This is due to the fact that we dont have any reliable ex changer to buy and sell POSTOKEN. Relying on Etherdelta alone will not be enough to attract whales and investors for the project.
CoinExchange is a decent enough exchange to do whatever volume people would want, but the problem is no one is doing anything but selling considering that state of things.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Experiences with CoinsMarkets.com? on: March 19, 2018, 06:06:01 PM
I agree, if anything they should be working on the major coins everyone cares about.  Most people probably couldn't care that much if they never get some junk back but the bulk of their BTC is most important.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PoSToken]First PoS Smart Contract Token[Lending Platform Available] on: March 15, 2018, 09:24:36 PM
But until I get reliable evidence that the developer left us, I have no reason to panic.
Well I feel like that evidence may or may not be here.  We haven't heard from the dev in a long time and the lending platform now isn't sending out withdrawals.  Many of us have been waiting for over a week and a half since the last one.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sirius A New Smart Chain Freely Distributed on: March 15, 2018, 09:20:51 PM
You are wrong.

They raised 80btc worth eth/btc for sirx they sold.

If they turned to fiat at that time it was 80-90k usd.

You missed a zero, at the time BTC was worth around $10000 and that times 80 is $800,000.

On a completely almost unrelated question, does anyone know of any low power machines to use for 24/7 staking?  I've heard the ideal setup is a raspberry pi if it supports it, but I was curious what everyone uses in these scenarios.  I really don't feel like leaving my main gaming pc on for that long sucking up needless watts.  Does everyone just use old laptops or something?
