I do the math and it seems @1.9% I would need to get more hash then this upgrade gives for it to be profitable.
2  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Custom Firmware AntMiner S7? on: May 10, 2018, 10:46:30 AM
I recall someone has built some updated custom firmware for the S7.

I just got 35 S7s and am looking at making them as efficient as possible, this means down clocks and other fun stuff, but I recall there was a custom firmware that did undervolting and gave very percise controls...

Anyone have and idea of where to get it? I googled around and only found some weird German threads about Momotorro.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Where are you buying your miners? on: November 02, 2017, 11:14:39 AM
Getting back into buying Rigs but Bitmain has moved to only selling use BCC? Anyone have a site that sells rigs or BCC at a reasonable price?

Are there any other reliable companies at this time?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.0 (Windows/Linux) on: September 06, 2017, 09:10:10 PM
Does anyone know why the system doesn't boot if I plus pcie riser into main x16 slot on motherboard?

BTW - I'm using P5Q PRO board: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P5Q_PRO/

Whenever I use the main x16 pcie slot (blue) the system won't boot.
Anyone knows how can I fix this ?

Time to talk to your MFG.

Windows 10 v1703
8 RX 580 Gaming-X 8GB (Hynix)
Asus Prime Z270 P
Claymore 9.8

In june with my rig i got 240 MH/s to 242 MH/s, i change nothing and now, 3 month later the MH/s drop 230 MH/s, i tried aug 23 blockchain driver, the result, i got 248 MH/s, but unfortunately i met issue with stabilty not good.
On this topic I read this "It should be higher. Try increasing the -ethi to 8. My eight card mixed RX 570/570 4GB/8GB rig is getting 28.5 to almost 30 MH/s dual mining UBQ."

What is this setting? -ethi to 8

Try -ethi 16

@claymore - Still have the issue even in 10. that If an instance of has more than 3 AMD cards I crash my Win 10 (I am running 7Nvidia 1070s and 5 AMD 580s (2 4mb 3 8mb)

What kind of logsdo we need to get?

I've changed Drivers.

I've reinstalled Windows.

I've rolled back Drivers and gone as far back to 9.4.

And ideas would be amazing I'd like to get allmy cards working again.

How do you unlock AMD overclocking on hybrid rig? I have 6 gtx and 2 RX Furys, I can't touch anything on the Fury cards.

You need to make one of your Furys a main card.
Main slot + plug monitor.

I didnt have to. try MSi After burner 4.4 beta 16

Okay all m y cards are hynix so I can OC them a bit? My screen for timing looks nothing like his.

Seems wrong version of PBE, you need to find one which display the timings properly... did you try the one in the article I've sent earlier?
...and always 'Run As admin'....

Yea Ia m using Polaris Bios editor 1.4 and atiwinflash

Use the latest v1.6. You definitely don't need to run PBE as an administrator. Atiwinflash does.

https://github.com/jaschaknack/PolarisBiosEditor

Is there a newer version of atiwinflash? mine really only lets me see 3 cards at a time.

never mind - use CLI is so much better. Ty ty.

I dont understand the bios modding. What am I to be changing on my Polaris cards I am only get roughly 20mh/s out of them on ETH.

When i load the bios following instructions, they say change timing, the timings are all kinds of crazy hex numbers.

I also get an error about my bois being too small

You cannot use GPU-Z to save the BIOS as it only saves half of modern bioses. You must use ati flash to save the bios. You are copying the memory straps from either 1500 (hynix, micron and elpida) or 1750 (samsung) and pasting it to all memory straps higher than it, such as 1650, 1700, etc up to 2000 or higher. This makes the memory run with tighter memory settings so hashes more. But it can also make the card unstable and/or crash.

How do I tell memory brand... also I am using ATI flash to pull them. They appear to already read as 2000 as thier default memory speed?
When you start GPU-Z, it reports the memory brand. Also use the following article for BIOS flashing as it tells you the correct Polaris BIOS editor version to use in order to get rid of the craxy hex numbers you're seeing:

to increase hashrate, you need to mod your bios and edit your memory timings.  Also, underclock and undervolt to save electricity and overclock the memory.  Its not plug and play, but there many guides out there, youtube videos and bitcointalk posts.  You could always check my website there is a section on bios flashing.  at your own risk.  no one said it was easy but for a little effort you will get 30% more hashrate for less power usage.

what is the website?

Need some help, I have 12 cards in a system. I can run the 7 Nvidia with no issues. And I can run 3 of the 5 AMD cards with no issues, And I can run each of the 5 AMD cards solo, but  if the other 2 are allowed to run with other cards it crashes my GUI. And Apparently windows but the remote client stay alive during this crash because I can DC and reconnect to it but its just a black screen, and it appears to still has for 3-5mins after this event crashes the gui, but I see nothing in windows error logs.

Are there and logs that can upload to trouble shoot the issue?

Still happening. Rig has 8 gb of ram and a 32 gb swap/VRAM and a quadcore cpu. and help is appreicated.

I thought btcjam is closing why continue posting here?

Because they don't know its a scam yet.

Did btcjam.com scam anyone? I been using it for many years and it never scam me once. If you are planning on loaning your bitcoin you need to thoroughly examine your the lenders background.

Becasue they've lied about things, and made it so some notes are untradable and worthless.
