Need some help, I have 11 cards in a system. I can run the 7 Nvidia with no issues. And I can run 3 of the 5 AMD cards with no issues, And I can run each of the 5 AMD cards solo, but the other 2 are allowed to run with other cards it crashes my GUI. And Apparently windows but the remote client stay alive during this crash because I can DC and reconnect to it but its just a black screen.
Are there and logs that can upload to trouble shoot the issue?

This board is better in all the ways than the asrock alike which has 13 pcie.
why? Asrock pcie are too close, short circuit. Running SOLID for over 1 month now

Anyone have experience with altering the ETH intensity?
-ethi Ethereum intensity. Default value is 8, you can decrease this value if you don't want Windows to freeze or if you have problems with stability. The most low GPU load is "-ethi 0". Also "-ethi" now can set intensity for every card individually, for example "-ethi 1,8,6". You can also specify negative values, for example, "-ethi -8192", it exactly means "global work size" parameter which is used in official miner.
I understand that default is "8", and I also see that "0" is the lowest, but it does not mention the highest setting. I suppose that's when your system crashes or becomes unusable?
Is there a benefit to changing from default in your experiences?
The example above which discusses setting intensity for every card individually ("-ethi 1,8,6") --- Is the first number the desired intensity, and it applies that to cards 8 and 6? I just need a little clarification on that point.
THANKS
THE DEFAULT IS 8-- That is also the highest setting. For individual cards, the syntax is often comma or space separated per card, depending on the mining software. The value for GPU 0 is first, then comma, then for GPU 1, then comma, then GPU2... and so forth. Claymore decided to use commas rather than spaces. If you use a negative value, you are setting a "Global Work Size", as was used in the original Ethminer. You could double, or perhaps quadruple that value, but I would not bother to use it. Single digits (integers) from 0 to 8 are much easier to type. --scryptr Please do not put out wrong information. Or Knowingly lie to users. PLEASE CORRECT ME-- I have not lied to anyone. --scryptr That is also the highest setting.Max setting for ethi is 16

The site you went to the second time is a scam site i assure you.

Agreed. It is fine.
That said, what does the intentional defamatory use of the word 'fire' in the title have to do with anything in the post itself? That is, other than showing us you are a yutz wanting to do anything to be noticed?
Prior to this Bitmain China tried to tell me that some how I was at fault for a R4 working perfectly fine for 6 months, then when applying a patch from bitmain, the power plugs, melting and charring the PSU cables. http://imgur.com/a/6BcpR What would you call these photos? System was not OC and autoclock was running at ~605-606

Its going up on ebay at 10am EST with a buy it now of 2100. Best of luck Batch 4. On fire were Bitmains words for initially describing its over heating, and I used their term to dramatic effect. The inner heat sinks are slightly discolored from heating. The plastics on the connecting pins melted/became brittle depending on what set you look at. It was sent in to bitmain and completely repaired. Fault was attributed to bad temp sensor. Its been running fine since its refurbish by bitmain. Verified with bitmain that temperatures are within acceptable tolerances. I also have a T-probe in there that will show down the PSU if it gets overly warm Photos at http://imgur.com/a/6BcpR

Where are you shipping it from? and how much are you asking for it?
Ships from the US - makes me an offer. If not its going on the ebay.

Let me know I have an R4 that Essentially I'd like to keep but I've been asked by the home owner to have it removed. Let me know if anyone has interest in the unit.

Does anyone know of where I can get some information on water-cooling an S9 miner. I heard that the heat-sinks are glued in-place, but there should be some kind of solvent or something to remove them. Why would they make them unrepairable. I also would like to know if anyone has dimensions on one of the insides of these things. It being my only miner I would prefer to get everything ready before I disconnect but I figure if I converted it to water cooled and ran a few small(1/4") pumps parallel connecting into a larger 3/4" to 1" tubing and than to an automotive radiator outside and run a large efficient fan which I would convert the original fan pins on the s9 to a variable speed control. Long story short, Keep my S9 cool with outside radiator system or possibly attic exhaust. That would actually raise my power efficiency in the home overall by ventilating the attic and cooling it. ((((I'm in Florida Its Hot))))
I need to find 1. What Size water blocks for S9 and how many chips requiring heat sinks 2. How to remove S9 and other S-series heat-sinks without damaging (solvent maybe???) 3. What is the screw pattern or maybe just bond it with glue/thermal grease mix the way they did it 4. As long as the connections for the stock fans are converted to control higher wattage variably the S9 should not require and software modification at all as S9 will still detect connected fans. 5. Locate a high velocity lower watt/amp fan. Auto Fans may not be the most power efficient as vehicles normally have an abundance of spare generated power. A lower watt fan would raise efficiency and most likely be plenty of air movement to dissipate the amount of heat needed to cool one miner. Most likely 2 could be used as there would be a much slower movement of water over a much larger area. Even an occasional gust of wind would probably be enough to dissipate heat out of a radiator that is most likely 1 1/2' by 2 1/2' or 3.75 square feet. That's about the equivalent of 24 120mm radiators. 6. If I bought more and had them water cooled I could stack each chip on-top of the next and fit multiple miners in one slightly wider but shorter sleek outer casing. 7. If you want one or want one done up than let me know. I posses all of the tools skills and craftsmanship to make these. most people don't. I am looking for answers to these questions but once these are answered its as good as done. There will be a Justified edition S9 Miner
I had 20 custom water blocks that I had CNC'd from a local shop for sale a while ago.. TBH Not worth it. Next miner I get we are going Oil Immersion. The cost for me of the CNC work made the WC set up not worth it, and the Radiators needed to cool my set up at that time were just too much.

So i have an R4 its kept in a basement with a box fan on it, Basement is relatively low on humidity. Never the less that shouldn't matter much here. What does matter. https://imgur.com/a/pbDkSChips are reporting 101 that's at 66f Ambient and running of a 1200watt 220v Server PSU. WITH A BOX FAN Blowing more air into the unit. Unit has been cleaned out by Bitmain recently. What should I do?

@VRobb,
as always, our hosting option, you do not have to worry about dead units or broken units as it be repaired or replaced at site if it is damaged or broken while in our hosting! Fully protected option is $60/kw, string attached is shipout is only after unit is not profitable to hash. (hash to the ash option, and probably in those senario, hosting fee at that time may be even lower to hash a bit longer by migrating to lower grade hosting option we have to keep the unit working longer)
talk to me I am getting upset at 2 months of time of my r4 being away from me. That's bad, sorry to hear Have you been kicking their butts via e-mail or phone to do the repair ready already? I email them regularly. I called but the second thing is in Chinese so I get scared and hang up.

Do I need to being in Theymos to check IP logs Yes, please do (whatever "being in Theymos" means). I found this thread from a reddit post about the patch. You can read my first post as the only reason I registered. I really don't care about this forum or whatever goes on in this thread. Regards, Millennium Fake-um Time to call in Theymos. This shit has gone on too long.

Yep, aliexpress, alibaba, taobao... bigger than what we've got here it seems people use alipay in the streets now ?
Anyhow Evan, can you share the source to these ? Tia..
EDIT: been around for a few years, like everyone else ? paying via moneygram or whatever BS, it's a no-no, i was thinking we don't even need to say it, but still..
Getting them via Ali baba Vendors. https://www.alibaba.com/products/RX_580.html
|
|
|
but indeed there's a lot of stock with super low price tag in alibaba is it real?
No, those are scams. Don't send them money if they only accept payment via MoneyGram or WesternUnion. Maybe some of them are scams. I only use one that accept payment via credit card. And I've had no issues as of yet. Ali baba is the biggest market place I think in the world now. Its China's Amazon+Ebay.

For those looking I am getting my RX 580s off Ali baba from Wang Graphics LTD. So far I've bought around ~50 of them @250USD in the last 3 months. They are very reliable.
