2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reality of Crypto Winter and what to expect from now on on: January 26, 2020, 06:58:58 PM
The crypto winter of 2018 and 2019 did flushed out many nonsense projects and the market has significantly matured over the last few years, it's exactly what i expect from the long crypto bear market.

In this year i expect accelerating crypto asset adoption and the key building blocks will come into place for crypto to achieve it's long term potential of revolutionizing how value can be stored and send around the world.

The last quarter of that year was generally dull and the prices are not favorable to sell the cryptos. Yet, it was also a good opportunity for some to buy cryptocurrencies ands start investing. The fluctuations of bitcoin and top altcoins are really helpful for those who grab that opportunity that time. I personally learned something from that "winter".
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Increase cost for some crypto firm? on: January 26, 2020, 03:30:16 PM
German government sought to introduce a law that might end up driving startups "out of the market" state that the government had the opposite intention in mind. It wants to encourage mainstream adaption of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology , rather than leave the sector open to unregulated smaller firms.

German government controlled for the issuing of token license for smaller firm for the protection of investors and let the solid companies dominate in the market.

It cannot be helped if different governments pass law on how they will "regulate" the crypto industry. Regulation and cryptocurrencies rarely mix well so, it will surely be still a long road ahead but the continuous increasing of adoption makes the cryptos more known and relevant to the marker.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Stablecoins Promote the Mass Adoption of Cryptocurrencies? on: January 26, 2020, 08:53:34 AM
Stablecoins have existed in the cryptocurrency space for a few years, but only gained prominence in the last year or so. Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies that are backed by other assets or benchmarks, such as the US Dollar, and, as the name suggests, they are stable in nature — or are at least intended to be so. Bitcoin is known for its volatility and that has led some people to believe that, while it is a good store of value, it may not be the most convenient form of payment. Stablecoins that gained a lot of popularity, thanks to Tether’s USDT, are now flooding the cryptocurrency market. There are over one hundred different stablecoin projects that exist in the market today with several more still to be launched in the coming year. Cryptocurrencies are gaining traction not only from retail investors, but also from institutional investors, which makes it the most apposite time to discuss their role in mass adoption.

Read more here: https://www.etoro.com/blog/market-insights/what-role-will-stablecoins-play-in-crypto-mass-adoption/

For mass adoption to take place, a good advertising and more relevance to the current trends in the market is what this industry needs. The crypto industry is well known for its volatility that is why some people cannot risk their money for it. But mass adoption will give more sense of security since it shows that cryptocurrencies are indeed useful in this era. Hopefully, more crypto, not just stablecoins, will be highlighted for adoption to expand to other markets.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum set new High in this Year on: January 26, 2020, 06:44:24 AM
Ethereum is About to set new high in this year . Most of the new and previos Projects are on the ETH platform.

It is also need to notice and realize that some projects do not go further beyond or survive the market after some years and it is sad to see that some IEO projects are just repeating the mistakes of many ICOs. It is also important to study well the project and take note of the realistic goals that it wanted to reach. That is why being an investor is difficult if you have no good eye on projects that have the ability to adapt and survive the market for a long period of time.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Okay. What is the main factor that boosts Altcoin value? Popularity or Tech? on: January 25, 2020, 09:47:14 PM

As the subject goes, what could be the main factor?

Famous developer, Media reputation, MM... or Just technology itself?

So far, it seemed that marketing and market marking were the main factors...

It can be both actually. If the project has a great use of blockchain technology, it can attract a lot of investors. Some are indeed just popular only because the profit is good and realistic. Some projects that are theoritically useful but are not funded well because more people are really do attracted more to profit. It can only be both if the team that manages the project can find the right balance for it.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO legalities in 2020? on: January 25, 2020, 07:33:35 PM
Even though ICO's have lost the appeal lately.

I was just wandering about the legalities. The SEC website confuses me. In the eyes of the SEC are true utility tokens still classed as securities in the USA? Is this why many companies avoid the USA when it comes to ICO's?

If a company from outside the USA releases a token, do they have to comply with SEC regulations to enable usa investors?

I am not from the usa but live here now. Is it a resident or a citizen issue?

The US SEC has a long arm to prosecute, expose and jail any violators so the ICO developers did not include US citizens they do not want the SEC to come after them because it's citizens loses money on their project, so it's better that they play it safe by not including US citizens to their potential investors.

Indeed, no one is supposedly above the law and until the government is not yet well favorable foe cryptocurrencies, one should not test their luck and play it safe. Crypto and regulation do not usually mix well so, it is better to understand and follow well what is only allowed in your country.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Crypto Vs Corona Virus on: January 25, 2020, 06:26:32 PM
Today is a big celebration day of the Chinese New Year, but on the other hand China is being hit by an epidemic that is the corona virus. So the Chinese government recommends that Chinese citizens do not travel on holidays and they close some tourism facilities to the public.
Even in Japan reportedly there are some shops that do not allow tourists from China to not visit their stores.
From this incident, will this affect the economy of China, especially China and the global crypto world?
https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/global-markets-swoon-as-lethal-virus-in-china-spreads/2020/01/23/a2223898-3dff-11ea-8872-5df698785a4e_story.html

It might not look at it, but the population of China is concentrated on cities which some are far away from each other and even Wuhan has some distance from Beijing. The area is closely monitored to prevent further spreading of the virus. Hopefully, the problem will soon be controlled but right now, it has no significant effect on the crypto marker so there is no reason to worry much personally unless you're near China.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it just me? on: January 25, 2020, 05:42:22 PM
January 2019 we have more bounties at that time but this year January seem to be different, very few bounty projects shows up, I'm not saying scam projects aren't around but this forum seem relieved from many junky projects like that of 2019, maybe scammers are tired of not getting answers in return? Maybe people are now smarter and scammers are starving? I so wish so 🙏 lol what about you?

A lot of cleaning is done thanks to the productive and observant people that help out a lot in Scam Accusation board to easily confirm and determine out the scam projects. Bounty hunters also become more cautious in choosing projects because it's not all about the compensation after all. Investors are also more focus on realistic promises rather than just money.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is one of the instrument of New World order? on: January 25, 2020, 04:52:51 PM
In the prophesy crypto is one of the instruments to implement the new world order because dollar will lost in the near future. I think we need to start talking about this, Lot of countries are preparing about the new world order and 2/two of all countries are not agree with this implementations and why crypto are involve on this issue?`first because of being losing a dollar currency. and 2 crypto are the best to manipulate the rate of money. What more?

It is quite overboard to think about new world order especially that cryptocurrency is not even much used that often by an ordinary person. It is a speculation after all so we cannot be absolute on thinking about this topic. Though I am personally sure that people would not allow it to be used to manipulate so obviously to take control of the society and fiat will not be easily be gone. Fiat currency is still more widely use in the society so it cannot be replaced just because individual countries decided to make their own crypto.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can the price of Altcoin be good by the end of 2020? on: January 24, 2020, 09:58:41 PM
Now the price of Altcoin is medium. If you look at it now, many people are involved with cryptocurrency. Altcoin prices may also be good in 2020 as cryptocurrency is allowed in many countries. If cryptocurrency goes legal around the world, the price of Altcoin may go up. Is it true?

It is possible but do not have unrealistic expectations. Cryptocurrencies fluctuate too often and one single factor in the market can change everything. If the prices is consequently increasing, expect that the prices will go down also. And after that, another cycle of price recovery and pump.

Even the hour of the day matters too. The crypto market is a dynamic field so, finding the lowest point to buy is like finding needles on a pile of hay. There are seasons when cryptocurrencies are generally low but it's all estimation and speculation. There are still risks every time one invest. In the end, holding for me had made a good result because patience and presence of mind can help a lot. Try your best not to be easily swayed by emotions when the price trends start to not favor on you.
13  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Boy Abunda's statement about cryptocurrency on: January 23, 2020, 11:31:52 PM
As usual and unfortunately, once again, scammers taking advantage of fake news to advertise their scammy services.

Scammers indeed to everything in their arsenal just to make other people believe on them. It is very unfortunate that to see cases like this are now getting much attention badly in the public. Locally, Philippines is not stranger to scams but to see that even the emerging cryptocurrency in the country is being used to fraudulent activities, expect that soon enough, the government will take notice and pass laws for it. It might be good or bad, but regulation and crypto do not always mix well. Hopefully, cases like this will be solved as early as possible to avoid further misconceptions about the cryptoindustry.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just a quick warning on: January 22, 2020, 11:29:58 PM
No matter how promising a project might look, especially if they are new projects just look them as if they have nothing to offer and invest only what you can afford to lose. Do not keep your eggs in one basket, do you fall in love with a single coin, no matter how good they are always keep digging, many more good gems won't hurt than relying on a single gem 💍. Be smart

The problem of some people in this industry is that they tend to focus only to one coin especially when they can only afford one investment at a time. While some also just choose to focus only to a coin because they do believe in the promise of the project. The problem in that case is that they tend to have unrealistic expectations because they risk so of their resources in one sitting.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Some exchanges charges are too high on: January 22, 2020, 03:18:42 PM
How many exchanges you know of that have too high withdrawal fee? I was shocked that Dcoin exchange wants 0.001 for any bitcoin withdrawal you want to make while other exchanges charges only 5000 Satoshi for bitcoin withdrawal, I was forces to exchange my bitcoin for litecoin before getting my coins out

A lot of exchangers have high fees especially if it is bitcoin that you wishes to withdraw. Some fees depends on how popular the cryptocurrency is. While in some, the fees are doubtfully cheap that they might be scam. The best way to withdraw in my experience is to convert first the bitcoin into some altcoins then I will withdraw that altcoin. It is relatively cheaper in fees.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Other than bitcoin is it worth to invest in Ripple? on: January 21, 2020, 11:59:25 PM
FXStreet & Express.co.uk Ripple Price Prediction These websites give a moderate prediction saying that XRP has potential and may reach $3-$5 by the end of 2020. This is an assumption based on the fact that Ripple is best Investment opportunity of 2020.

https://coinpedia.org/information/xrp-ripple-price-prediction-2019/

Let me know your point of view on this?

With the current price $0.237428, xrp can recover much more this year but not up to the point of $5. It's all time high was on 2014 with the price of $3.84 so, I do not expect much for xrp to surpass that price this year. There are also other possibilities that can lead to other circumstances and open up new opportunities. Ripple still have long road ahead so hopefully, it can further improve in the following time.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: By now, is it worth to invest in major altcoins for the long term? on: January 21, 2020, 11:14:13 PM

I have been hearing that even major altcoins are gradually losing its value.

For long term investment purpose, no more investing in major altcoins recommended?

It must your absolute own decision in the end but to determine the worth of major alt coins, one need to study well the behavior of the crypto to the dynamic market. Some of the top altcoins right now might not survive the market in the future due to the changes in the trends in the market. Determining which crypto aside from bitcoin to be timeless is all speculation. All of them have risks so, do not invest unless you understand and accept those risks. One can also try to check out major alts that have real use case and have great chance to be adopted and used by significant number of people.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What would it take for XRP to become widely used as a payment method? on: January 21, 2020, 10:14:27 PM
The truth is this: not this:

Nothing is wrong to creative in expressing opinions. But it is kind of a down to only express it with two pictures. Bitcoin and Ripple are far more greater and not simple just to be express like that. Bitcoin itself is really great because it more likely won't be gone in the future and will recover eventually every time the prices decrease. While Ripple is also great in a way that even though it's price isn't that high compared to bitcoin, it managed to survive amidst of this cruel market.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who Would Really Buy Facebook Coin? on: January 21, 2020, 04:57:31 PM
Honestly, who would buy this? Serious question! I've been reading about it and I don't see how Facebook can create a coin that upholds the values crypto portrays (censorship free currency).

https://tipestry.com/topics/5ce41169570b6c1f0750a040/facebook-to-release-its-own-cryptocurrency-on-whatsapp-%E2%80%93-libracoin-%E2%80%93-with-its-base-in-switzerland-and-first-launch-in-india

Facebook is a big company and one of the most famous social media website. Even my neighbor's dog has an account on Facebook. So, it won't be surprising that many will but and support it. This is also a good opportunity to introduce cryptocurrency to the public since many still do not know what is it aside from bitcoin. There are still people that I know I'm real life that only knows about bitcoin. With this great example, people might see crypto in other light.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The future of bounty looks uncertain on: January 21, 2020, 04:59:01 AM
Hello Guys,

We all know ICO is totally dead, so, there will be no successful ICO bounties! STO bounties are more than shit, doing STO bounty just waste of time, trust me! And then come to IEO! IEO hype is gone, it passing a very tough time nowadays! All the shit exchange's bounty is also shit. Just count how many shit exchange's bounties you did and how much you earned! Good exchange's IEO doesn't have bounties most of the time. So, there left post ICO/IEO or self-funded project's bounties! Those are very few and their budget looks penny! Right now many bounties are running but according to my research, I could not pick 3 good bounties!

So, what do you think about the future of bounty? It looks uncertain to me!

This will be the case because most of hunters are only focused on the profit they can earn from the project. Almost every project fails because their only goal is to earn and not to expand or adopt or jump into other industries. It will all matter on how well they manage their limited funding. If the dev team or ceo does not have plans for expanding the use of that crypto, they will soon hit the wall and then the prices and trade volume will also decrease until they will be added in the pile of dead cryptos.
