41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you choose DEX? How to avoid scam? on: January 15, 2020, 11:29:05 PM
I'd like to discuss DEX exchanges and its variety.
There are many of it, and top-lists of top DEX exchanges are appearing often as well (here's an example for 2019). After reading one of the latest articles about it, I started to think -- there's too much info and not all of it is trustworthy. Reading reviews, comparing fees... I'd like to know which DEX platform you use and how did you make a decision about it?
Could you tell if you stick to one particular platform or use several of them? What criteria did you rely on?

Liquidity, trade volume, and trading fees are my top criteria on choosing. Forkdelta and etherdelta are the quite popular among dex. If you are still not sure which dex will fit your use, you can try exploring each first and many if them have YouTube tutorial to understand the platform.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I feared new altcoins might be left out on: January 15, 2020, 10:51:11 PM
I feared new altcoins will be left out so i start selling some coins for bitcoin because it can be a big blow if altcoin fails to surge like in 2017 after bitcoin reach a new ATH, what do you think? And what would you have done in my position

Not all altcoins are doomed to fail. Many high ranking altcoins survived the market well and manage to be still useful and relevant nowadays. There is no point to argue whether what you did is right or wrong. If you prefer Bitcoin today, then so be it. But bitcoin is not alone, many other crypto goes up and down depends on the market factors.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quality or Price? - which one you look when buying altcoins? on: January 14, 2020, 11:57:21 PM
Hi I'm not a technical guy and I really want to invest in altcoins. Fo you guys which do you guys prefer in this time when buying your altcoins?
Do you still like to buy those under rank cryptos that low price or you preferred to buy those on the top? Or do you prefer projects which have constant project development and updates that still build even though they fell from the bottom? Or you skip those low satoshi altcoins even though they still have great developments?

And if you can give me some idea too to where I can research project development statistics and quality of altcoins. Sorry for my English?

Many high ranking alts have survived the market because they have both good quality and just right price to maintain the trading of that particular crypto. They have proven to be relevant or useful in some ways, whether its use case or the profitability of the crypto. With these, the crypto will continue to survive the market. Meanwhile, other coins need more advertising and update their features so they can shine more and attract investors and users.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Significance of Binance donation for Australian Bushfire on: January 14, 2020, 11:33:10 PM
Australian Bushfire is no news and truly the 2019-2020 bushfire has been the most disastrous to the country, losing animals, humans, buildings etc. Binance donated a sum of $1 million in BNB to this effect as charity. This can be seen from CZ's recent tweet 🔗 https://twitter.com/cz_binance/status/1214760723013783553?s=19

The point is that crypto has been used for many criminal activities including ransom paid to kidnappers. This kind gesture by Binance goes a long way to show crypto can be very beneficial to mankind, not only used in detrimental aspects.

Guys, if there are other recent cool stuff crypto has been used for, please drop here. Thanks

Many big businesses do have good charity programs and hopefully this is not limited to the Australian incident. It is cool to see that binance take action to help amidst this capitalistic era. Though this gesture have already made impression to make binance popular, at least they did help. Plus, it's not just binance, but the whole industry of crypto can be known by more people in the global scale.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the altcoin market being manipulated in 2020? on: January 14, 2020, 10:50:44 PM
Hello There!  Wink

At one time, I stopped being interested in the altcoin-markets because of the situation there. Famous projects were dropping their bags off to gullible investors to get even more money.

Do you think the situation has changed in the year 2020?  Huh
Is it safe to trade ERC-20 tokens and is it possible to earn something else?

People do already lost interest long time ago on anticipating most of the new projects especially the ICO. But it does not mean that the altcoin industry is already over. STO and IEO was given attention for the past months and have taught some investors the importance of realistic expectations in the market. Altcoin is still has a lot of potential and opportunities to create something useful and valuable.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mining crypto by walking on: January 14, 2020, 05:04:13 PM
A more feasible would be a token with it's own fitness band. That way they'll have a revenue by selling bands while rewarding their faithful users with rewards for doing what the users thought of doing while buying the band. It would be like a cashback for properly using a product. It would be more effective if an established fitness brand come up with this idea. And atleast give me credits (and a paycheck).

This nature of cryptocurrency hopefully be adopted not only in the fitness and health marker but also to other daily transactions marker. It is my dream to see that futuristic society where crypro will be often used. Though I know that it will still take a long time and many other things will need to happen first. But the continuously adoption of crypto to other industries is a great help to manifest that vision.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: COCOS WILL BE RICH? on: January 13, 2020, 11:20:04 PM
Hi all, great news for COCOS coming. The team works hard and will succeed. New exchanges coming soon!

Also great deals. Hopefully next time they will have 40-50 sats. I bought $ 7,000 on 9 sats. !

Cocos, go go go!!  Cool Cool

https://www.binance.com/tr/trade/COCOS_BTC

There is always a chance for any cryptocurrency to grow but to it will be wise to always have realistic expectations in the market especially for new projects. Many new projects find it difficult to survive the market because the investors tend to believe blindly in the project just because of profit. Well, if the project is really good for the taste of many, it had high chance of surviving the market.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Bleeding on: January 13, 2020, 10:43:39 PM
Altcoin is not increasing for so many days. New money is not coming in market. So Always invest in good Top 30 Altcoins for being Safe.

It is normal for some altcoins to have dull market especially in times when most people prefer to sell their crypto because it is the occasion when people are being expensive. Right now in 2020, many prices are recovering and hopefully it will continue to do so. But if you do prefer to only invest on top cryptocurrencies, then you are welcome to do it for your safety. Though there are good news projects that always pop out and can ride up the market ladder.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coming from altcoin to bitcoin on: January 13, 2020, 03:34:54 PM
I don't know if its the right call or not but i just feel like its better to sell my bags of altcoins for bitcoin, most of the altcoins i owned are not top altcoins, mostly new coins from bounties and I've seen coins worth of 2k turn 20$ while holding them, finally i decide to take out the losses and invest in bitcoin, if you are holding any altcoins that aren't good enough do not hesitate to sell for bitcoin to at least make some profits

Reevaluating your crypto profile is normal but limiting it to only one crypto will also limit the scope of what you can only earn. Bitcoin has indeed constant ups and downs and you can't go wrong with it as long as you invest it below 5 or 6k then sell it on 8. But there are altcoins that start cheap and end up to to good investment in the end. It's just finding which alt will survive the market.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2020 start of a fresh market for crypto. on: January 13, 2020, 01:46:07 PM
I'm a little relieved entering 2020. Bitcoin has touched $8000. Hopefully a good step for the future. 2020 needs improvement on crypto market. Investors and traders will have new spirit and trust if they find good things this year.

Bitcoin is not the only cryptocurrency that recovered from last year's price drop. Many other follow the upward trend of the market. And as others also say that there also upcoming events and occasions that can impact the crypto market. Hopefully, the prices will continue to pump up and those who invested with crypto last year will be rewarded well.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin still or altcoins on: January 12, 2020, 04:57:43 PM
Putting all my money on bitcoin is more smarter than going for altcoins? I think bitcoin will always surge even if it loses value today, i never think twice about this anymore because in the past if i never switched to altcoin i would have be in big profit today, what do you guys think about my plan? Stupid or 👍

The strategy can work well bit there are also people who prefer doing both. Investing on different cryptocurrencies of course is a high risk and high reward strategy. Furthermore, any type of investment or holding is a game which the core is chance and speculation. Experience is also a great impact on how good you will be in this industry.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who Says Forks Are Bad? on: January 11, 2020, 03:42:18 PM
It's simple to see and yet many failed to see the truth, many said coin forks are bad because they are just copycat of the original coin well so far all forks from popular coins are doing well, last bullrun all forks like bitcoincash, Ethereum classic, litecoincash all bring huge profits more than their original mothers, who says forks are bad? I thought we are all here for the profits? Honestly aren't this coins more better than most new coins of nowadays?

Bitcoin gold, bitcoin private, zclassic and etc, i knew some you made fortunes out of these forks, these coins are better

Forks on the category of there own, must not be generalized as good or bad especially as a whole since even though it's just a "copy cat" crypto, it does have a significant amount of clients who enjoy using it. Famous forks become what they are right now because they proved to be useful for many investors and use case for some.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Universities offering Blockchain degrees? on: January 09, 2020, 11:55:09 PM
I've toppled with a few online course sites like Coursera and Udemy which offer certificates of completion for the field of Blockchain. I'm aware of a mainstream University called the "University of Nicosia" which is offering a Master's Degree in Blockchain technology. But so far, prominent Universities within the mainstream world haven't offered Blockchain degrees yet. I'm sure that many Universities will start offering this since Blockchain technology is the future of finance. It's no secret that many businesses and companies are seeking talent in Blockchain tech. Having a degree in Blockchain, would allow you to gain recognition within the mainstream world.

Which is why, I'm on the hunt for Universities which are offering Blockchain degrees these days. I'd prefer to take courses online than physically for many obvious reasons. A comprehensive list of Universities offering Blockchain degrees would be helpful. Thanks in advance Smiley

All I have seen in the nearby local college in my country that is related to cryptocurrency and blockchain technology are few seminars that only tackle the to of the ice berg. It will be great to see a more comprehensive and formal education about it and not just a part of lessons for technology-related courses.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How i presently feel about bounties on: January 09, 2020, 11:01:08 PM
I'm starting to think its better to promote bounty projects with low allocation like 30k to 50k because they never failed to pay hunters, even if these projects find it hard to met softcap it will be easy to pay bounty rewards, this might be because of bear market but gone are those day of thousands dollar worth bounty rewards unless new wave of market movement takes place

I still like to promote projects that have good potential whether they are paying huge or small allocation, it still goes on how good the project is and how it managed to generate funding, I stopped looking on the bounty and only concentrate if the project will become successful in the market.

This is a conflict between compensation and passion for this facet of crypto industry. Some people don't get it or got confused about it. It can be all in the matter of opinion of the hunter though some really made a good point to why you should really support a project. Furthermore, the findings of a project does not absolutely guarantees that it will succeed but it is one of the possible factors.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why you need to store your money in your hands! on: January 09, 2020, 04:59:19 PM
It is reported that exchanges began to freeze accounts for having been on the accounts of a "dirty" Bitcoin. Moreover, we are talking about Binance and about the Bitcoin, which was there 5 months ago. Sad Thus, exchanges can freeze any amount of funds in order to cover cash gaps simply by tinkering with their user's transaction history. If suddenly a user once bought from someone a “dirty” BTC on OTC, send it on the exchange and then conducted operations with other BTC there for a long time, then at one moment he can get a ban and the exchange can don't give him money as much time Exchange wants.  Embarrassed I think it can affect everyone. so I share this info with you guys because I recommend you hold your money ONLY in your own wallets! so be careful and Happy New Year!

It's really the best to ensure that the source of the cryptocurrency is trustworthy and legit. And as the line between freedom of crypto and regulation are getting thinner, this sort of issues are becoming more common and prominent. Hopefully, this can still be resolved in the near future.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have created a list of 70 social media based on blockchain or tokenized on: January 08, 2020, 11:18:58 PM
This thread worth bookmarking, because it is helpful and highly comprehensive. I am just coming across most of the platforms listed for the very first time. Sometimes, I look for where to publish my articles, but it seems i have exhausted all the available slots. This is indeed an enlightening thread. only a well dedicated and a hardworking individual can do this.

Kudos to OP. This can help many that are new in the crypto industry. I personally appreciated his/her effort in making the list. It is also worth checking out all of them though I only managed to check about ten of them at this moment. Knowledge is power and this is a great help to fight against ignorance so, we can prevent other unwanted or unfortunate events in the future.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too much projects, good projects cant reach crypto ethusiasts on: January 08, 2020, 10:46:42 PM
My question is how do newly developed projects that are not an ICO and don't have millions for ads even promote themselves? Where can you find them?
Believe me, after the project is good, it is enough to introduce a few places. After the project is good, those who use it will advertise. If the project is good, it will not take long to be discovered.

I have said this already, but i believe there should be a section where we could discuss projects that we believe have a bright future and need help with their promotion.
There is little chance of keeping this sector clean. Again scam and sh*t projects will be more widespread. Look at this section itself: bispex, titancoin, rankingball, and other sh*ts.

Also, the term "good project" can be subjective. But if there project is really good with many facets and features, then time will tell when it will reach many potential investors. Lastly, even though there is a little chance that this industry can be cleaned from scam projects, the industry will continue to thrive towards its betterment.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Death of ICOs on: January 08, 2020, 04:36:42 PM
ICO terminations in 2019 were unimaginably inadequate contrasted with 2018 August and October both had none, while January 2018 had 160 projects. All things considered, 2019 projects raised additionally funding on average $6.8 million contrasted with 2018 $132,000, still ICOs are losing popularity because of

1. Concerns with funded projects
2. Regulatory hurdles with selling the tokens
3. Crypto bear market

Investors are now more concerned on the ability of the project to survive in the market and not just the profit itself. Because many icos took a lot of time before being listed in exchangers, many investors fear and lost interest in many icos. This is really unfortunate but also have rise for ieos in the market.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next big thing in crypto? on: January 07, 2020, 08:50:48 PM
The advent of Bitcoin's blockchain technology has opened up a world of possibilities that were never imagined. People can finally achieve financial freedom by being their own bank anytime, anywhere. In 2017, there was the ICO boom where crypto land was filled with hype with many companies launching their own business ventures. Everything has been about smart contracts, on-chain privacy, and Blockchain-based gaming. But ever since prices started to decline back in 2018, there has been a lost of interest into crypto and Blockchain tech from people in the mainstream world.

It's now 2020, where many exciting events are yet to come. Bitcoin will experience another reduction in its block reward (halving), while Ethereum becomes closer to adopting PoS into its blockchain network. The space is definitely maturing, but the level of demand is still a lot less than it was back in 2017.

Nonetheless, I'm curious to know what's the next big thing in crypto? Huh

One of the things to look forward in this year is the adoption or the user of cryptocurrencies in other industries. Many hotels and casinos have already follow this trend. Hopefully, other establishments will soon open this service. If personally look forward to other technologies and innovations that will rise because of blockchain tech.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC and Altcoin Price Movement on: January 07, 2020, 07:04:27 PM

When the value of cryptos falls, many traders double down – effectively strengthening their commitment to a course of action that is potentially risky – because the prices are so low. As with the pattern demonstrated from this short market tale, here's to how you can capture a price swing or “one large move.” By this we can conclude that we need to be careful on our alt trades and need to be sure on accumulations backed by TA and FA studies. Where are we heading is the moment of truth from this article! https://medium.com/mark-price/the-chop-c55567cb7d26

The prices of bitcoin and many other cryptocurrencies are now recovering and looks like it will continue to do so. Every time that the prices fall, some investors take the opportunity to buy and start investing. Up to this time, bitcoin is back to 8k usd. This is a good news to start the year 2020. It will also assumed that many other cryptocurrencies will follow this upward trend.
