381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Browser extensions can steal bitcoin on: October 03, 2019, 11:40:20 AM
Its been a long time since ive knew that browser extensions are bad news and in fact they should consider red flags, you can easily get viruses on your pc or even spyware but the latest news about these so called browser extensions is they can be used to steal your coins, consider this a warning for those who use chrome and mozilla firefox browser extensions regularly. I came across the warning while surfing the internet today.

Browser extensions can help scammers steal your crypto Casa CEO Jeremy Welch warned the audience at the Baltic Honeybadger conference in Riga this weekend.

Sorry i couldn't drop link to the full news because i got the warning news from pivot news which would require you to download app before reading any news, share this warning with friends and crypto fans especially newbies

This is a new for me and I am thankful that you mention this one. My friend once told me that some "free" browser extensions have privacy issues but I never realize that it can be also use to hack crypto address. Right now, I become so wary of extensions in my browser so I remove all of them and even clear all the data to restart my browser. It's better to be safe than sorry.
382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Cock Fighting on: October 03, 2019, 11:07:27 AM

Last week someone shared me gamble where you can bet on cock fighting online. But on this platform we only use our national currency to cash in will convert it credits where 1PHP : 1 credits.
It's just sad because they don't accept Bitcoin. I having hardtime to cash in/cash out by going to any banks or remmitance.

Anyone here tried to gamble with cock fighting?
And maybe you know some websites that accepting Bitcoin.

This is the most Filipino thing I saw so far in this forum. "Sabong" or cock fighting isn't just a simple gambling in the country. It is a culture that has been passed down to every generation. It is so attached in Filipino culture that there are a number of people, especially fathers, consider the chicken as if it's part of the family. So, I found it very entertaining that even as simple as this gambling are slowly integrating with modern day technology. I hope to find more of stuff like this soon. Very "Manok Na Pula" indeed.
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in multiple altcoins on: October 03, 2019, 10:40:36 AM
Ok guys so I have 500 CAD left to invest in altcoins, I decided to invest 3000 CAD in bitcoin and leave it like that. So for that 500 CAD (377 USD), please tell me if this makes sense. (I want to own a broad portfolio of multiple coins that have good odds for the future). All amounts are in USD for a total of $370. I'm open to suggestions.

50    Ethereum
50   Ripple
50   Binance Coin
30   Litecoin
20   Enjin
10   Iota
30   Cardano
20   Stellar Lumens
10   VeChain Thor
10   Pundi X
10   Basic Attention Token
10   Ontology
10   Zilliqua
30   Monero
?   Eos
10   Tron
?   Zcash
10   Icon
?   Chainlink
any other ?
10   Dash

The good side of this strategy is that you have multiple chances since you have multiple coins that can produce profit. The down side is that when you invest more in the alt that will not grow so high or when you invest too little in the one that will peak. But there is no absolute way to see which of them will peak among alts. Multiple investments works best when you have a large capital to start with but can also be difficult to manage so expect that you will some minor setbacks before you got the gist of it. Good luck OP.
384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will There Comes A Time That All Online Gambling Sites Are CryptoCurrency Based? on: October 03, 2019, 10:10:49 AM
Anonymity and popularity of Cryptocurrency are two of it's the best attraction.
And Cryptocurrency games are more transparent.
Will, there comes a time that all online gambling sites will be Cryptocurrency based?

The number of gambling sites that offers cryptocurrency based transactions are indeed increasing and nowadays, I see a lot of gambling sites are also making their own coin that can be used exclusively on their business. In time, I can see that all online gambling sites would have integrated crypto. But still, there is still a need in fiat in some ways. So that, users can decide what they prefer.
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the factors you look into when diversifying your crypto portfolio? on: October 03, 2019, 09:39:20 AM
In crypto investing, many of us have been taught to diversify our crypto portfolio to reduce risks. The idea sounds nice and noble, but if you don’t do it correctly, it’s practically bad. Basically, you will just be giving away free money on a cryptocurrency that might not even take off after its ICO. Worse, if the market goes to the bear territory, many (if not all) of your altcoins will take a free fall. That is not what you really have in mind, do you?
Diversifying your portfolio is only one step in the right direction. To take the second and third steps, you need to become diligent and to have foresight. In this blog, we provide the most insightful information we have gathered to help you succeed at diversifying your portfolio and earn profits out of cryptocurrency investments.

Everything goes down to the planning stage of course. If you don't prepare yourself in the first place, you will doom to fail in the trading industry. Just like any field of work, this industry can have toxic environment so preparing yourself mentally and socially is a must. Also, being humble helps a lot to build your processional character in this business. Never letting the emotions get you is difficult most of the times but even simple breathing can help you relax. It is a good read btw, OP.
386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A cryptocurrency entirely dedicated to GAMBLING? on: October 01, 2019, 03:46:25 PM
An idea came onto my mind, and it consists about a currency that is entirely dedicated onto gambling and also betting, I did not search through the web if there is actually a crypto that has done this. Gambling is a thing that the people love to do, whether if it is in the casino or online, but have you ever thought of a crypto that will serve as your main currency whether if it is in the casino or it is on online, I think this could also be beneficial for the gamblers as well, I wanna know about what you think of my idea, whether if it is a positive or negative opinion, I will still take it.

Just like the other replies about this thread, I also think it won't be necessary to have one coin for all gambling because in this industry, we celebrate diversity of ideas, projects and coins. Most of us do not appreciate monopolized monetary system because crypto is originally created for the benefit of the public and not just for some few people. But, specific gambling sites can have their own coin if they want to. This exclusiveness can be beneficial for them but it also limits who can only use it because its customers need first to buy those coins first before they can gamble.
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is this still possible today? on: October 01, 2019, 03:03:24 PM
I just find out that some coins might start with very low volume and marketcap and end up growing big? true or false? i tracked back some old coins that start with trading volume around 6k and end up in millions, is this still possible today?

Most coins have slow progress in growing in the market. Some even managed to have steady expansion but others have chaotic state in the market. This proves the point that anything can happen in coins. This dynamic state of the market raises many possibilities and several investment strategies can formulate. All we need is patience and some luck, you'll never know when one coin will rise up among all other cryptos.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin price recovery on: September 30, 2019, 03:22:21 PM
The title says it all — altcoin price recovery is underway. Personally, i would be satisfied if prices go back to where they were a few days ago, but a rally that would take them higher wouldn't hurt, either.

What are your thoughts and expectations?

https://coinmarketcap.com/

The last quarter of the year is often the time when the prices of cryptocurrencies peak since the demand usually kicks off in the high level. Holidays on December and January have been observed with the highest rate of transactions and discount sales. I am expecting the gradual recovery of many cryptocurrencies in the market and who knows, may be a bull run or two will occur every week with the current state of the market.
389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Money is Dirty Money on: September 30, 2019, 02:58:51 PM
This to me is a traditional view which remains persistent until the very day.

My mother considered gambling as playing with money. She sternly reminded us not to gamble. When I was in college, there was a hot debate within the church whether or not to accept donations coming from dirty sources such as gambling. And in Islam, gambling (maysir) is haram (forbidden). [1]

I have a friend whose father would not serve the family food bought using gambling money.

And just a few years ago, our Education Secretary shunned billions of state-funds because they are coming from gambling. She didn't think it moral and proper to buy books and even build classrooms using the dirty gambling money. [2]

What are your thoughts on these? Do you agree with it, or you consider these as old-fashioned views?

Sources:

2. https://www.philstar.com/other-sections/education-and-home/2016/09/29/1628372/briones-shuns-gambling-money-education

Because gambling isn't just a game anymore; it's a dynamic industry and most of the time, it has negative-sum effect on its people. "Dirty" by means of the money you can get from the gambling is from the loss of many, is subjective and cultural view of the matter. These difference in views and cultural perspective divides the role of gambling as entertainment and as way of living. Though there are also people nowadays who consider gambling as both for entertainment and income generating activity. But in the end, money is still money.
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No trading volume is same as dead coin on: September 30, 2019, 02:33:43 PM
Are coins and tokens that have good value like 0.02 or even 0.2cent on exchanges with no volume the same bad news as coins that haven't made it to an exchange yet? what do you guys have to say about this? i am currently holding two different tokens with good value but no trading volume, any hope for such projects?

Zero volume means you can't do anything but to hold on it. I guess there's nothing else you can do until such time the exchange will acknowledge it or the project is revive once again. That's why not all ICO projects are good for long term investment and not all can survive this dynamic industry. But don't lose hope on them, you'll never know someday those coins can hold much value than you expected.
391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The secret of gambling? on: September 30, 2019, 01:42:46 PM
After playing gambling games hundreds of times, without much effort in winning substantial profits at all, it makes me wonder what could be the secret of gambling? Personally, I find myself comfortable playing crypto-based gambling games, because of their greater level of accessibility than traditional games. I believe that gambling games which use cryptocurrencies and Blockchain tech, are much fairer than traditional ones within the mainstream world. Yet, you tend to lose more money than you've initially invested into a gambling game.

Which is why, I'm deeply curious to know if there's actually a secret within gambling that would allow me to win more than losing? Any thoughts about this will be greatly appreciated. Smiley

The "secret" of gambling will depend on who you will ask of course. There are people who are into crypto gambling as their job or a way to earn money while some only gambles for entertainment. Nevertheless, both of them tries to reach at least the self-sustaining end of the bargain. Most people who made gambling as a job, often uses the strategy in where they seek low-medium pay out within long term period while those who are in for entertainment plays at high risk - high reward game environment.
392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: taking decisions on: September 30, 2019, 10:54:44 AM
The moment you start taking decisions yourself you will make a change in your life ,some decisions will be bad and some will be good but at least you are different from those who rely on others decision. Don't invest in coins because people  around you are investing in it ,I did the same in the past even when i knew that the coin doesnt make lota sense and it doesnt end well for me ,I repeat same mistakes like thrice before I really opened my eye ,I knew what's right from the start im just wasn't bold enough to do what I felt was right.

To all readers on here please try to know yourself ,listen to your heart and learn from others but don't rely on others ,sometimes you know what's best for you but you aren't just bold enough to make your own decision ,maybe because you are too scared of failure? Failure is a big part of road to success .

A friend told me almost the same thing. i remembered him telling me that these failures are just part of my character development as if I am a main character in an anime series. It immediately raise my spirits and then I am taking the positive sides of every outcome. After all, it's just a bad day, not a bad life. Just be careful next time so we won't be burned by the same flame. Thanks OP, you lifted the spirits of most us.
393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tricks and tips for esports betting on: September 30, 2019, 10:18:39 AM
I'll ask such a banal question (yes, is there already a rule in this forum)

Do you know how to make money by betting Esports? Do you have any good ways (in your opinions) to make money? Or maybe only intuition , current form, players' morale?

I think it's a pretty good idea, such as more serious consideration and analysis like here on esports bettings talks  but I'm talking about restricted discussions in the restricted area. Insiders and key information. Do you know any other sources of this kind or somethink for reading like blogosphere gaming information and news here ?

There are a lot of stats you can use like the gaming history of the players but in the end, it is gambling. Some people ignore those stats because the team if their favorite. Some bet on this specific team because they think the team has stronger line up than their opponent. Esports betting is difficult because either team could "comeback" and take the lead any time during the game.
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why its hard to attract investors on: September 30, 2019, 09:49:29 AM
Before investors are everywhere in crypto currency specially mid 2017 but everything change
Ico's started to boom in the internet, you can choose a lot
of ico that you like, but then started to change , there are ico that are scam, running with investors money in a snap, lending platforms also can be seen, the same happens they suddenly disappear
we have already have a very good market if there are no scammers
they change everything, now investors are so hesitant whenever there is a new coin that are good but they opted out because they think its a scam, I think we should find a way to lessen or better eliminate them for good.

The quality of advertisement is a game changer for most ICO projects. They need to be relevant in the industry to catch the interest of the potential investors. And it is given that it is difficult to find an investor that is willing for a long term business so the marketing really does play a major role to convince them to invest. There is also that reputation  of being a "scam" because  the investors felt disappointed sometimes because of the low return that is caused by the short-lived period of the project.
395  Economy / Gambling / Re: I going to investment in wink.org what do you think about it? on: September 30, 2019, 08:42:03 AM
I saw website wink.org i saw some information about it here. Should i buy win to investment there?

Before on investing in anything (not just in gambling sites) one should understand first the nature of the site and the information like where you exactly can invest for the business. And if you are really interested on investing on it, you should read first their terms and conditions before doing any decisions because this is real money we are talking about and it will be your own fault if you are being ignorant about it. Be cautious but also be open minded in this sort of business. Think of the long run of the investment but never take the risks if you haven't know and understand them. Good luck on your investment!

399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Project without team members on: November 28, 2018, 11:56:49 PM
Hy all.

There is something bordering me and I will like to share with you all.  have been wondering if we need any Jupiter to tell us that a project without team members and no whitepapers are like to scam.
My questions is that have you seen any bounty campaign without team members and the project succeeded?
If such is there please outline let look into such project and loop it out.
I have never participated in a ICO project or bounty campaign without a team member and they succeeded because many people will not joined in a bounty campaign that has anonymous team members because they will think that it will be a scam or it cannot be trusted.
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm afraid of losing money on: November 28, 2018, 11:53:15 PM
Hey, guys!

I become more and more nervous about my crypto safety.
I used different wallets for different coins before and now I want to choose one wallet for everything.
I have Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple.

The point is that even the biggest and as I thought the most reliable wallets have problems these days.
Money disappear somewhere, there's problems with access and withdrawals.

Can you recommend me a good, safe and reliable wallet, please?
I'm sure you have more experience in it.
I believe that everyone is afraid to lose all of their money, that is why security is the best solution that you will ever think for you not to lose all of your money. Using a hardware wallet like ledger is one of the best wallet that you can use for security because you are the only one who can access on it, just don't try to lose it.
