121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Promoting cryptocurrency through altcoin on: December 21, 2019, 07:37:34 PM
When you hear of cryptocurrency what mostly comes in the mind of people is Bitcoin and that's people that are not all to familiar with cryptocurrency.
In as much as Bitcoin controls a high level of cryptocurrency, altcoins are indispensable.

To my little knowledge on cryptocurrency there are altcoins for a lot of uses, some for medical use, some for advertising, some for gaming and so on. With people having interest in this areas to spread cryptocurrency we can take advantage of this opportunity it doesn't have to be all about Bitcoin all the time.
Though the problem with altcoins is the turn out of the coin after wards and the responsiveness of the owners. But if investors or crypto addicts can engage more in altcoins this will boost altcoins and get more organisers active and spread cryptocurrency more

Altcoins really do reach out the other facets of the society and really do shape the society to take another step towards another era. Even though bitcoin is a lot more popular than the crypto industry itself to the commons right now, it is the duty of many altcoins to educate them and tell them that this industry do exist and functions well to aid many other industries through blockchain technology.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese City Warns Investors: Crypto Isn’t Blockchain on: December 21, 2019, 06:34:42 AM
Weihai, a port city in Shandong province of eastern China, has a stern warning for investors: make sure you are really investing in blockchain innovation and not cryptocurrency masquerading as blockchain.

The Weihai Local Financial Supervision and Administration said Friday investors should be more cautious because illegal crypto issuance and trading are on the rise, according to a statement from the authority.

https://www.coindesk.com/chinese-city-warns-investors-crypto-isnt-blockchain

Even though that strategy isn't new, it must still be reported regularly whenever a crypto was found out to be not really using the blockchain technology. Truly, a lot of projects out there, especially in 2018, are masquerading ICOs that are created solely to accumulate funds then fail afterwards. Investors must be careful and diligent before jumping to anything in this industry.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opinions about quitting mining on: December 20, 2019, 10:44:05 PM
If you do believe that you will never go back to mining, then feel free to decide what will you do in the rig. You can put out the hardware online to offer it to other people. Personally, I prefer other tasks in this industry because mining is beyond my knowledge and understanding. It can be the best decision because you can use the money from selling it to invest in crypto.

124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the difference? on: December 19, 2019, 09:54:48 PM
I not wait that governments to adopt crypto i only want that governments to not ban crypto, but if they centralize it they expect tax, what i want is that to have most shops to accept crypto.
If stores accept cryptocurrencies, they will certainly be taxed and paid to the government. But if it happens then it will not be a cryptocurrency anymore, It's difficult to make such decisions. And if the government bans cryptocurrency, I think this market will not be able to grow in the future

Indeed, many cryptocurrencies are not taxed by the government. Personally, I do not want to have only crypto as a mode of payment. Both fiat and crypto is needed and can be used depending on the nature of the transaction. Especially in the context of my country, it is almost impossible to implement only crypto since most of the population is ignorant of the existence of such technology.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Country for finance regulation on: December 19, 2019, 10:52:45 AM
One of them is definitely the Philippines. The country is pushing universities to teach blockchain technology. Besides, their government also has quite easy rules for people to participate in the crypto market. The government is creating the best conditions for people to make a lot of money in this market and invent smart blockchain tools that can help the economy of the country. So this is a great country for crypto lovers to live and work here.

So far, cryptocurrency in the Philippines is an untouched subject but I have seen interest from many college level students in this industry. Online payments using the infamous Coins.Ph and GCash have been commonly used in the country. It's just a matter of time before its government act up, or maybe when something big and unfortunate happened, the PH government will act up.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralization or Scalability? on: December 18, 2019, 11:51:55 PM
In crypto land, many people are often looking for ways to make money instead of believing in crypto's core technology (Blockchain) that gives financial freedom to anyone worldwide. Some people prefer decentralization above all else because it provides censorship-resistance against third parties. Others simply prefer scalability over decentralization, to enjoy faster speeds and low costs as much as possible. While many people have criticized Bitcoin because of its high fees and slow TPS, it's more of a feature than a bug as it preserves decentralization in every way.

Which is why, I wonder what's the best path for crypto to take? Will it be decentralization or scalability? With an ever-growing demand for crypto, there's the need to scale Blockchain technology to meet with the needs of everyday people. But then, there's the issue of centralization. The more the Blockchain scales, the less decentralized it will be. You'll sacrifice one thing over another. It's nearly impossible to meet with both standards at the same time.

What are your thoughts? Huh

Originally, it is both for me. Decentralized systems are key to many sort of transactions that won't require much of the expenses when using third party. Also, the scalability  of this technology helps the society jump to the next step of mankind. Hopefully, these two can be and will be preserve as we enter a new era where cryptocurrencies are not just abundant but also relevant and useful to the society.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are Legal Risks in Crypto World ? on: December 18, 2019, 11:01:44 PM
Personally, I believe that people who invest in cryptocurrency are very at risk for legal activities. Since at the moment a legal document has not yet been created that can fully guarantee the security of this digital currency. And now the task ahead is to create a legal document that is suitable for all countries and all investors can use this document.

The reason for this is that it is difficult to find a balance between regulations and maintaining the anonymity and confidentiality of cryptocurrency. As long as people still can't resolve this, there won't be a global rule for owning cryptocurrency and other countries will still ban them. Each country has their own thing so if you're not careful enough, you might face some issues soon.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to introduce crypto currency to newbies on: December 18, 2019, 10:30:47 PM
In your opinion, what is an effective way to introduce crypto currency for newbies, and how important do you think?
I think platform like the Brave browser are a very effective way, this is important because newbies are the future?
Give all your thoughts here

Almost everything has a tutorial video so just link them a good YT video. But if you think they needed more help, might as well teach them personally. That's what my relative did and made me get interest in this industry. We were all newbies before so, it's also good to see that there are people who are open to help others.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? on: December 18, 2019, 07:32:12 PM
Today bitcoin loses its 7k glory, how are you guys holding up? What do you think will be the next stop? Do you think this drop in value is another strength to better bull run?

It's the season as we can observe the increase of the number of people selling their bitcoin for the expenses they needed for the month. It's a busy year so, if one still don't need money, just hold up and don't be swayed by the current status of bitcoin. Soon enough, the prices are expected to recover.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Projects that failed to keep their promise in 2019 on: December 18, 2019, 02:52:13 PM
Here are some projects that get listed on exchanges but ignore bounty hunters and airdroppers like they don't exists

1. Sparkpoint
2. Decimated
3. Nestree
4. Sero
Etc.

Any one has a solution to make this stop? if developers can't keep their promises even when they raise fund successful why needing how help to create awareness then?
There are so many cases like this, they might do that because they don't want their token prices to fall, but take it easy they will need us later, when the market really starts to recover their project needs bounty hunters to campaign their projects and compete with others, they will spend a lot of money for it, but be hypocritical of them and leave these projects to be their lessons, so just wait for the time when they will come like a beggar begging us bounty hunters

Promises are difficult to keep especially if the promise is unrealistic. But once you have worked for that project, you couldn't give up on it easily. Even though the project looks like it is doom to fail, there will always be a side of you wants it to succeed and kick back from its current predicament. Hopefully, these cases would decrease because it slowly kills the hope in many hunters.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What the industry holds for women? on: December 17, 2019, 11:41:26 PM
I think the question of where Crypto or Finance industry overall is going is no hard thing to say, as it’s pretty high. But what does the future look like for the women? I found very interesting and vital article https://www.hercampus.com/author/what-does-future-look-women-finance, it really deserves a lot of attention and should be discussed.

Even in finance and crypto industry, it is good to see that women are getting more and more chances to have the opportunity to work. It's a very well said article and could help this industry grow more. I do believe that gender nor roles that is attached to then has anything to do in this industry. We all are equal and anonymous here by the way.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: is this gift right? Send 0.5 ETH = 1ETH on: December 17, 2019, 06:33:01 PM
can someone check this site? about the 2x fold prize of ETH.
if someone sends 0.5 ETH to their address & will get a bonus 2x = 1 ETH

https://mixineth.com/

2x bonus will be sent to the address that you entered or that you want from ETH.
Are gifts like this true?

As everyone were saying, it is most likely to be a scam. Too good to be true promos like this are all just a scheme for the scammers to steal your money. There are also other indicators that can help you determine the legitimacy of a promo like how well detailed the info about it and how well it is managed and promoted in many social media platforms to gather people. The odds of winning must also be small so that you will know that the team behind it does not really aims to trick you but just to promote their project and the promos is just a bonus.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ARAGON: The Ethereum based Startup from Spain on: December 16, 2019, 09:55:08 PM
The disadvantages Aragon, developers of Aragon have really made a strange decision to include so-called “hidden cap” in their contract code. What does that mean? You invest your money, not knowing when the contract will reach its capacity. As they stated, they wanted to have as many participants in their crowdsale as possible. I think that developers are a little bit greedy.

It becomes a little sketchy for me what really is their goal because, this hidden cap can have so many implications to their potential investors. Though I understand that if you have allocated higher amount of capital, the project could survive the market better. Yet, it will be somewhat crazy to know how much budget the project has and could lead to FUDs.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your Expectations for year 2020 on: December 15, 2019, 11:44:25 PM
The year 2019 came with diverse expectations from everyone. Some persons were of the opinion that the year would be better than the previous year, others had a negative view.
The year 2020 is around the corner and I would like to know what are your expectations as it relates to the market, Crytocurrency projects and the overall health of the industry.

It still amazes me how time can elude us and how this illusion can gather such hope and courage to continue supporting the market. For another year, we all of course can hope for the best and to do this, we must faced our past mistakes and truly learn from them. Never forget and never let be burned by the same flame again. Personally, I have high hopes for many altcoins to recover soon from this dull despair that this last quarter of 2019 left behind.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There is a better alternative to Bitcoin and why not use it? on: December 15, 2019, 11:00:53 PM
People are creating topic like this every week. The simple truth why there are so many hype around bitcoin - it was first. A lot of people think that this is the only one true crypto currency. This is not about tech, this is about status

There are people who prefer to use Bitcoin but of course the popularity of the bitcoin in general, is difficult to challenge. To think that Bitcoin will be dethroned today, has many implications not only on your life but also in the way this society run things.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New solutions on existing industries on: December 15, 2019, 07:28:46 PM
Hello there. What I have noticed these days - there are more and more solutions being brought to the market, however every particular one requires deeper analysis. And what I always pay attention to - practical value and benefits for users. What makes sense - there are pretty young and bold solutions even on the industries with large key players. For example, my latest discovery is Sapien network that is entering the social networking industry with a truly advanced working product. I am also wondering to know whether you are having also any examples of the solutions that are young, but promising and with real value

Well, it can also be the matter of relevance and how it is marketed to the public. If it gained enough support from its beneficiaries, it would most likely last and survive the market. Yet, most of the "failed" cryptos are copycat of the old ones so, it is a kind of difficult to be a unique project that will stand out. But it does not mean we should stop looking and venturing these new ideas in solving every facet of the society.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Warning for newbies on: December 15, 2019, 05:52:52 AM
Newbies needs to be prepared for this coming new year, scammers will try to take advantage of that year because bitcoin halving is already dropping the HYPE in crypto space  already, Learn to do research better, not all bad results in crypto are because a project failed, mostly are because of lack of research, with no good research you can easily fall for scam projects.

1) Do better research on new projects before promoting them or investing a penny on them

2) Visit scam accusation thread on the forum time to time, it will safe you a lot too

3) If you you have to invest always invest what you can afford to lose.

New bounty hunters right don't even care whether the project is a scam or not. It's because they are just after the compensation so they blindly follows the dev team. This ruins the industry especially the image of many bounty hunters. Indeed, visiting the scam accusation really helps for us to crowdsource information and confirm the false news to real ones.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying coffee with cryptocurrency on: December 15, 2019, 04:41:21 AM
More businesses are accepting cryptocurrency as a payment for their product especially in food and beverage section. In canada KFC are accepting Bitcoin as a payment and now there is a news about Starbucks planing to use blockchain technology and want to make their own coin that can be use to buy cup of coffee.
Link: https://www.coindesk.com/starbucks-chairman-hot-blockchain-cold-bitcoin/

i believe this is good news for uses of cryptocurrency, which is the uses of cryptocurrency as payment would be realize in our future of transaction.

As the blockchain gets integrated with more facets of the society, it also allows the public to know more and understand what cryptocurrencies really are. It revolutionizes the way we do things as we enter this new era. And, it fires me up to expect what more we can using blockchain technology and what else we can find to be integrated with cryptocurrency.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are stablecoins a definite solution against a bear market? on: December 13, 2019, 09:41:36 PM
Stablecoins are necessary when there's uncertainty surrounding the market, traders who would want to secure their funds against any sudden downturn will be safe with stablecoins.

If one investor feels that the prices will change sooner but not in favor of him, stablecoins might be one of the best solutions. But of course it is still risky because you also lose the chance of the prices going the favor of your investment. It is almost impossible to determine absolutely the changes in the market so think carefully before deciding to do anything.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is for you scam project and what is for you good project? on: December 13, 2019, 08:58:57 PM
Guys we are talking a lot of times about "this project is scam" or "this project is amazing and soon moon" but sometimes scam project making a lot of x but amazing project making -90%. So what is for you good project? Which team and project is fake but making xx or team and project real but price making -90% and we should hold?

There are projects that failed to meet their goals but not all of them are scam. I only personally consider a project to be a scam if at the first glance, you can see that their goals are very unrealistic. Those sort of projects are created to fail. They are nothing but a way for the dev team accumulate and stole money from investors.
