Would you think that current schizm in bitcoin should benefit litecoin? If btc collapses/forks into two or more ltc would be a key player on the scene. What do you think?

We also should have named the Internet “Internerd” 20 years ago. But now, everyone is in Facebook sharing Minion pictures. The problem with Bitcoin is that it still is new technology. As more and more people start to use it, those high-technical explanations about the blockchain and scripts and so on should disappear. |

Gavincoin's idea of doubling every 2 years is not a good one.
if they cannot propose another better idea, then we need to accept that, i mena we can't wait forever until someone come up with an idea, now i'm starting to believe that this problem should have solved much early, with the fork of 2013 thus you don't need today to fork again and at that time, chinese were not controlling 60% of the network, and playing the dictator's game... You can accept it, I will not. I don't have an issue with BTC costing $5-10 to send and using something like Bitshares to buy coffee with and Bitcoin to store wealth. I do have an issue, though. Why should I need to change currency just to be able to buy coffee? It's just not worth the effort. Same reason people use to have copper AND gold. I believe that people will own a handful of currencies in the near future. The altcoins have been completely underestimated. The same reason people have a savings account and checkings. A visa and a line of credit. Still you don't understand my point. My savings account and my MasterCard and my spare change is denominated in the same currency. I don't have to do any exchange between currencies to get money from the ATM and buy a sandwich. |

So pretty much everyone will have some funds stashed away in a half dozen cryptos, just like you have credit cards, a bank ATM card, paper bills and metal change all filling your wallet (not to mention a checkbook).
O God, that's exactly what we're trying to avoid, aren't we? To have dozens of ways to spend our money, most of which go through banks and other institutions. Also, even if that's the case, my credit card, debit card, banknotes and checks are all in the same currency. If I want to buy chewing gum with my credit card, there's no one to stop me, and there's no hassle about the exchange rate between ChewingCoin and SalaryCoin. |

What most people don't know is that Satoshi Nakamoto was nothing more than a school science project for a technology pilot school: Nakamoto Elementary School; which is located in Japan. The project which won first honors was by a gifted student (what would be in the US a 6th grader) with a given name of Satoshi. For minor/age reasons they released only his first name; and his white paper which was given a major re-polish by his teacher/mentor who helped him throughout - decided the project would be published under the nom de plure Satoshi Nakamoto. In honor of Satoshi, the boy, and Nakamoto, the school.
Nothing more.
Lastly; the project was then released online; and picked up by a totally different group of "first adopters" who then took it and ran with it. But the early wallets, which were used meerly as a proof of "it works" - were discarded. Which is why all those Bitcoins in those first wallets - large sums; have never moved. At all. A better question: why is litecoin better than monero?
isn't dash better than monero, they shares the same thing, but dash is a more suited name for a coin than monero can even dream about monero problem is its name really nothing else and litecoin isn't better than monero, people are more attached to it for emotional reasons... monero is "money" or "cash" in Esperanto. dash is short for "digital cash" Which is better? I'd choose "monero" over "digital cash" Monero is “coin”, not “cash”, in Esperanto. |

Everyone will be using the Bitcoin blockchain to run their banking infrastructures, because it doesn't make sense to use any other blockchain. Not using the Bitcoin blockchain = guaranteeing your shit will get hacked. For some reason they STILL keep the "blockchain tech" thing but tend to avoid the part where a cryptocurrency is basically the fuel that keeps the blockchain running.
If everyone uses bitcoin blockchain, your home computer will not be able to cope with the size. Some mutuals (building society) can pass on the savings. You shouldn't be storing the blockchain on your home computer anyway. |

The loan voice of reason. Bitcoin is suppose to be a currency, not a gambling instrument. People gamble with currencies all of the time. That doesn't mean they should. Are you trying to play God? No. I'm just giving my opinion on the matter, and my opinion is that people shouldn't gamble with currency. Whether they actually do is something entirely different. |
