Hello everyone,
Several guides have been put out there for cloud mining, however, I believe that this is ones of the first of its kind for cloud mining primecoin with a pool. I adapted it from my guide from protoshares (http://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=722.0), however, it had to go through some changes before it worked for primecoin - all of these changes were tested on digital ocean and I effectively played around with the code until I got it to work.

Here is how you start. First you need to sign up for digital ocean. Please make sure to use my referral link: https://www.digitalocean.com/?refcode=3a96071d7d5f If you use my referral link to sign up and spend at least $10, I will send you 2 XPM free!

Next you need to create a droplet. I would recommend the 8gb 4 cpu option that costs $80/month but feel free to go higher or lower. Just don't use the $5/month one because I sometimes got errors when trying to run this program there, I don't think it has enough memory for the job, but you can start at the $10/month one! After you have that done, make sure you pick Debian 7.0 x64 as your image. Then hit create.

Soon your username (always root) and password will be emailed with you. Go to your droplet in digital ocean and then hit console access. Type in your username and password [note: your password won't appear as you type it, just type it and hit enter.]

After you do that. Type in the following code, pay attention to spaces!

sudo apt-get install -y git make g++ build-essential libminiupnpc-dev
sudo apt-get install -y libboost-all-dev libdb++-dev libgmp-dev libssl-dev dos2unix

Your pool ip will vary per location. Here are your choices:
EU: 176.34.128.129
US: 54.200.248.75
ASIA: 54.251.179.44

Go to http://beeeeer.org/user/<your XPM address> to see how many coins your getting!

ROI is decent but I have yet to test it out after the recent 4x difficulty increase, before that, it was amazing. The benefit of a cloud server is that you can mine on your PC while mining on the cloud server so you can get paid from both locations - this would allow you to make more money than what your making from just your PC.

Yeah I've had the  make -f makefile.unix error. Try destroying your droplet and creating another one - and then being very careful about entering all the code in correctly, that's the only thing that worked for me.

Now is the time to mine - Chinese markets have pushed the price per PTS to almost $10/each at btc38.com (.022BTC/each) - large profit to be had. On the same note the reward for signing up under me has been decreased to .25 PTC otherwise I'm losing money for those who sign up under me - people could sign up and then just make accounts and collect 1 PTS each time making a profit + having $10 in cloud mining credit.

Yes I am experiencing descent ROI at this point.

For those who are curious. I am currently running the following.

1x of the $10/month instance: currently getting .1 shares/minute/each (profitable based on my calculations)
3x of the $20/month instance: currently getting .3 shares/minute/each (profitable based on my calculations)

I remember reading somewhere on the website that they limit you to 5 instances so I may make the last one a big one - one of the several hundred dollar a month ones depending on how it goes .

From my experience you have to do it all again each time, it doesn't take very long though.

Glad you got it fixed. That stumped me too, I figured out eventually, just type in your password and you can't see it, but once you type it in, then you hit enter and your good to go!

Cloud Cores are slower than non cloud cores. I'm researching how to make it faster but don't be surprised if it is slower. Focus more on your profits/costs. I'll see if I can get it more optimized though:)

The website is down but my laptop and online miner are both still connecting. We'll have to wait for statistics to come back up to see if we got anything. Also realize if your for example using the $10/month option, beeeeer.org pays out at 1.00 PTS which could take a while because 1 PTS = $7 and your not going to get like 1 every 8 hours from $10/month in expenditures, its not that profitable

Yeah its been a pain for me too. I'm trying to figure out how to get it to work for ypool.net, more reliable. Except ypool.net I haven't figured out how to see PTS earned per worker so unless you make a separate account for cloud computing it would be harder to see how much your cloud servers have earned and if there worth it.


Do you need a username for Github, it worked for me w/out one. That miner isn't mine I'm just linking to it for you guys to put on the cloud server.


However right now, my miners connected to beeeeer.org are still running, even though the stats aren't turning up I'll check it tomorrow morning to see how its doing.
