102  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ★LIST★ BitcoinTalk's Escrow Providers: Ranking & Blacklist ☠ Avoid Scammers ☠ on: September 17, 2017, 04:27:12 PM
« UPDATE »

Recent changes:

Mitchell has joined the Crypto Escrow Team;

ranochigo has joined as Escrow Provider.

List and all scores updated...

P.S. I've noticed the overall score and trust points have decreased and some escrow providers have been downgraded as result. Has anything changed related to the forum's trust mechanism?
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: September 17, 2017, 09:02:06 AM
the Filecoin ICO raised a record-setting $257 million.Token price reached about $6.00.

Sia price:$0.006037
Market Cap: $176,459,493

Storj price: $0.568969
Market Cap:$54,951,617

Sia and Storj undervalued or Filecoin way Overvalued?

Just wait (and you'll see) for the traditional (post-ICO) dump of coins once their (Filecoin) crypto token is out and allowed for trading...
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ETHLend - Decentralized Lending on Ethereum Network on: August 10, 2017, 03:51:56 AM
Blockchain startup ETHLend introduces working capital finance for Initial Coin Offerings

 Roll Eyes That idea is very interesting as a way to fund new projects replacing the ICO model now threatened by regulators from US SEC and Singapore.

It really should be worth working and developing that insight...

I'd like to be considered for this list as an escrow provider. Smiley

«UPDATE»

Newest changes:

monbux has been removed from the list because he was unable to reply our PMs confirming his Escrow service status and operations since February, 2017;

Zepher no longer offers escrow service and is out of the Crypto Escrow Team;

Seccour joined as Escrow agent.

List and all scores refreshed...
The reason is: you never reply my PMs (the last one I sent you in August 03, 2017, 01:53:51 AM)...

...but lets try once more.

If you wanna apply for this list, please post here (or send me PM with) the following info:

1) Which cryptocurrencies do you work with?

2) Minimum and Maximum amount of coins allowed/accepted while using your escrow service (in BTC or USD);

3) Your fees;

4) Do you work with PGP signed messages OR signed messages from an already staked* cryptocurrency's address?

107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: August 09, 2017, 03:20:07 AM
So will Poloniex convert them or do ppl have to convert them on their own ?
It's advised that you convert all your SJCX by yourself because Polo has not shown (until now) any official sign of following Bittrex's footsteps...  Undecided
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [STJ] STORJ Token Sale :: 19th May - 19th June on: August 04, 2017, 06:09:39 AM
Interesting they talk about cloud storage and such. Definitely surpassed SIA coin. Not at market cap though.
It is really huge.

When compare with Sia, Storj's marketcap seem too low.
And now they have plenty of money to deliver good product.
This subsequent move in market cap will follow for sure when some issues are solved:

a) Consolidation of tokens→Poloniex stops trading (the old) SJCX and starts offering STORJ (ERC20) thus ending the messy situation of having 2 different tokens (and prices) for the same project;

b) Transparency→Storj Labs "summarize the status of SJCX migration and the STORJ crowdsale" and reveals all the numbers related to the recent token sale ("How many SJCX have been converted to STORJ? How many STORJ fall into each of the time-lock tranches, and when do these time locks expire? How many STORJ are in circulation? Disclose a policy regarding how many STORJ Storj Labs will introduce per year.")¹;

c) Disclosing Goals→Storj Labs reveals development roadmap and accounting of used (and yet to be used) raised funds (those $30M);

d) Dream team→Storj Labs hires a CEO (someone to be the leader of the team and also responsible for public/stakeholder relations²), CMO (please someone to handle marketing, for God's sake) and full time developers.

[1] I took those quotes from lunokhod2 @ storj.reddit.com
[2] When I say stakeholders I mean shareholders, venture capitalists (e.g. bnktothefuture.com), partners (e.g. exchanges, FileZilla, Heroku) and token holders.

IMHO Storj Labs shoud have solved those issues (a) to (d) before announcing that news. The announcement of FileZilla integration was great but the timing was not. I guess if all those issues were solved before FileZilla's announcement STORJ market cap would be worth tenfold+ by now!

P.S. I think Storj team (what's left of it) is smart. They are able to learn fast from their own past mistakes and will do right next time solving all those issues and making more exciting updates in the right timing...

BTW I'd like to thank MeijeSibbel and helmex for doing what they can to keep everyone outside Storj Labs as updated as possible about project's news.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ETHLend - Decentralized Lending on Ethereum Network on: August 04, 2017, 03:34:09 AM
We are soon adding USD-peg lending option to our roadmap. This means that the borrower would not suffer from volatility since all loans could be calculated in USD even if the transactions are in ETH. This means that our non-crypto buddies can also borrow ETH, spend it in FIAT economy and pay the loan back with FIAT earned income without suffering from volatility. For example borrower borrows 200 USD worth of ETH and returns 200 USD worth of ETH.
That might not work as good as expected, I still think a stable token would be a less risky approach.

Even USD-pegged loans using altcoins are not that stable. Altcoins can move wildly while borrower is trying to trade crypto to fiat before using the resources or before paying back the loan/interest (while trading back fiat to crypto).
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: August 04, 2017, 02:41:25 AM
WHATS difference STORJCOIN vs STORJ ?

I see one listed on poloniex.com : STORJCOIN

the other is not listed anywhere : Storj

You might take a look here: https://storj.io/faq.html

TL;DR: SJCX is counterparty based. STORJ is an ethereum ERC20 token. (In theory) all SJCX is to be converted to the new STORJ. Bittrex converted all their SJCX and only works with STORJ token now. Poloniex still works with SJCX.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ETHLend - Decentralized Lending on Ethereum Network on: August 03, 2017, 03:55:56 AM
This is an interesting project as long as it doesn't sink in endless KYC/AML useless mandatory (enforced) rules or implementations.

In the (near) future will your smart contract and platform be able to accept/allow an ECR20 stable token (e.g. DAI¹) as base cryptocurrency for lending and interest payments instead of (or along with) ETH?

[1] AFAIK the most promising project for an upcoming ECR20 stable token is MakerDAO: https://makerdao.com
112  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ★LIST★ BitcoinTalk's Escrow Agents: Ranking & Blacklist ☠ Avoid Scammers ☠ on: July 29, 2017, 04:39:56 AM
The only thing you can do that would be legal, in that case, would be to abide by your contract. There is no fault in following the contract through, even if it means the coins are lost forever. Everybody knew the deal when they signed it, and just because some freak accidents happened doesn't mean you get to break the contract and open yourself up for a lawsuit. To avoid that you could have them provide multiple addresses for refund. Why does there only need to be one address?

That being said it's unfortunate a lot of people doing escrow are not feeling up to it anymore. It's really hard to use crypto for peer to peer trades. Nobody is protected unless there is an escrow.
IMO that's the best approach to follow while doing your deals. You can even demand/insist that customer must use (or at least be fully aware of) addresses wich he or she controls the private keys himself/herself (so no exchanges' addresses should be allowed).

Did poloniex upgraded ?!
Did Bittrex upgraded ?!

Bittrex has listed STORJ a couple of weeks back.

Poloniex not yet.

Poloniex list will help STORJ a lot.
It's up to every Poloniex's user to ask and request for STORJ to be listed there as soon as possible. Or even (better) request Polo to follow Bittrex's footsteps (convert all SJCX to STORJ)...

This project has delivered so much without any ICO hype. I'm really impressed!

bisq is really an example to be followed by other entrepreneurs and developers...

While visiting your site I couldn't find specific info about spreads, Max. Leverage, Margin Required, Market Hours (open-close-break time), Financing rates, etc for each market offered (Forex, Commodities, Indices, Stocks).

Is that info available only for registered clients?

Making that info available for the general public (like your competitors do) might be interesting, don't you think so?
