101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN PUMP/DUMP GROUP 2015 on: February 04, 2015, 05:41:04 PM
If you don't think this is already happening, you have not been paying attention at all.

This is the very reason the price dips and skydives over, and over, and over, and over.

The real pump and dump group is already controlling the process.  You won't be able to make a dent.

He's creating threads like these just to get people to click, and see the banner in his signature.

Oh wait, that's you.

Looks like they're pointing to Ripple as the best example of what they'd like to do.

out of the 5 tips I have sent out only one was Delivered 4 are still out for delivery  Undecided

People have been trained not to click links they don't recognize or understand.

This is going to be the biggest hurdle to adoption.

Maybe they should allow a way to claim back the tips which haven't been accepted

That's actually a really good idea.  Someone should suggest it (politely) on the changetip reddit sub.  The guys involved in changetip don't seem to be the type to get greedy at this stage, so I don't think they'd say a blanket "no" to the suggestion at all.  In fact unclaimed tips are going to be a major problem (large quantity) in the future.  So its an issue that should be addressed early on.

I think may be a timer with an expiration, and the funds are put back into your account.   They collect fees only if the tip is collected.

Say the idiot advertise Scamming business in his sig  Roll Eyes

Exactly.  Nobody click his signature.  This is a stupid thread and I feel stupid for bumping it.  Nobody respond and let it drop off page 1.

Obviously a pointless thread to advertise his services.

Wanted to make a quick buck? Thought you found the short-cut to endless riches? Serves you right bitch, the punishment is only proportional to your greed and the damage done to Bitcoin by the bubble you derps caused.

Just wanted to say hi.

You can watch what happened here.  The rocket did a little twirly thing and a button popped up to go to the moon. You click and go to the new exchange. The market reacted poorly and fell. Glance at the exchange UI.

UPgrade your CamStudio to Snagit !!  Same company and WAY better program.

Every rally so far has been a chance to dump coins .....

Last time major news moved it over $450 in November and we haven't seen $400 since.

Why is there always guys like you speaking doom?  Someone told me you guys actually think your posts move the market, so you can get cheaper coins.  So you just say negative stuff all the time.  I can't imagine someone could be that simple minded.  A post on BTC Forums isn't going to move the market.

You control the reaction you get.  Usually.

The only people labeled as trolls (usually) are the ones who point out weaknesses with a sh*tty attitude, or some sarcastic, condescending comment attached.

The people who point out weaknesses with genuine concern, and desire to get the conversation going, usually don't get dismissed.

Love that there are so many projects jumping on board with Lighthouse already.

I was worried this was just another money making scheme for Mike Hearn (sorry mike - the decentralized trustless world has turned me into a paranoid freak that doesn't trust anyone.  ironically.)

Are there any projects dedicated to bringing on more developers for Bitcoin protocol?

Probably coincidental, but maybe there's some "hive" ebb and flow of the human race based on unknown social factors / time of year that can come into play with these types of things.   Probably not in this case, but who knows.

I agree with OP.   But I suppose its the lesser of two evils.  The worst case scenario is nobody is talking about it at all.

115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: D wave and the death of Bitcoin? on: January 24, 2015, 02:17:02 PM
From here, it makes complete sense to send your stash to a newly created paper wallet that have never been used to spent from the address, in effect makes the public key never been exposed to before on the blockchain.
But dude, when you transfer coins to an address, everyone will know if you like it or not.
It is a feature of the blockchain.
You cannot hide your coins.

Actually no, you send coins to the ripemd160 hash of a public key, until you spend said coins the public key is not revealed.

Just to clarify - the fact that I can go to blockchain.info after I send coins to a paper wallet address, type in that public key, and it is displayed on the screen with the proper balance - that isn't the public key being "revealed" to the network?

116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bill Gates 3 problems with BTC on: January 24, 2015, 02:14:14 PM
I can see why the 1 and 2 are bad but the 3 is ludicrous.

The problem is that he's comparing Bitcoin's anonymity to Visa and Mastercard's documentation system.  He's supposed to be comparing Bitcoin to cash.

Its going to take awhile (years) for the general public and regulators to recognize that Bitcoin needs to be viewed as cash.

The fact that its so new, and its a technology, etc etc etc makes them immediately want it to be different than cash, and compare it to systems that it shouldn't be compared to.

People on these types of panels just need to repeat over and over:  "If I hand you a dollar bill, there is no record of that anywhere, for taxes, terrorism, or otherwise".

This needs to become a very pervasive response, so people start getting it in their heads.

Ultimately I truly believe the consumer public is going to start seeing the benefits of Bitcoin for online purchases.  The fact that their card can't be stolen.  The fact that they dont have to put up with the bullshit Banks put them through (they closed one of my business accounts last week because I wasn't using it "enough").  The freedom to handle your own money without permission from a bank is going to be huge I think, once people start to realize it.  Everyone's pissed off at their bank.  Everyone would pull their money out of there if they could, if there was a better solution that gave them more control.

All of these things need to become part of the public discussion so consumers start to recognize there are benefits to Bitcoin outside of "overthrowing the state".

117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adam Guerbuez claims some very big news is coming for Bitcoin this friday on: January 16, 2015, 05:12:48 PM
where was it said for what time the news will be? his time is running out fast imo, ready for twitter attack

Thus far he's only said "Friday PM".

Friday PM also happens to be the kickoff time for the Miami Bitcoin Conference.

Well the big party starts tonight.  So everyone can be hung over for the actual conference Saturday morning.

118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adam Guerbuez claims some very big news is coming for Bitcoin this friday on: January 16, 2015, 04:39:47 PM
Miami conference starts "Friday PM" (tonight) so maybe someone will say something then.

And I believe Charles tends to show up to Miami conferences too ...

If this is about EGO exchange, then the "more robust gentleman" has been putting out misleading tweets.  He plainly said people who bought during the low are going to see major profits from the news.

Ego exchange being frozen wont result in that.

Charles Hoskinson however, I would listen to.  Maybe its Uber accepting Bitcoin.   But as we saw with Microsoft, Dell, Newegg, and Expedia:  The price goes up about $30 for a handful of hours, then goes right back to where it was before the news.

Didn't we already switch from some bear age to some bull age like 6 months ago?

Wasn't it written in the stars back then?
