But overall I'm pleased with the service.
YMMV of course.

I can confirm, I'm with him since the beginning, overall pleased.

Three of mine are up now but one is still saying Sad
504 Gateway Time-out

I don't know if this is getting any better ??

Yeah, it's strange, I have several units hashing on f2pool, but  can't access any of them (504 blah blah), plus a few certainly down.

Really? That surprises me, I've never used pypy but have heard it's much faster than std python.......
Well, its a JIT, and my tests may simply not have been long-running enough to give it sufficient warm-up time.

Hi,

I came to the same conclusions running p2pool long ago on pypy, it is as fast as python.

See here, for example.

Anyone tried running p2pool with pypy? Just curious after Matt said he was going to test his relay with it.......

I did in the past, there are several message about pypy if you search for pypy.

This is mine, I did not see any real difference back then.

Sucks to be you guys, this is why I do my own hosting. I bet I'm running close to 99% uptime over the last 1.5 years.

Good one  Wink

BTW here noting new - 504 Gateway Time-out

24h USA = 1h China

I can't access most of my miners right now, but I see them hashing on f2pool.com which is inside China.

I'd say it is mandatory to have an account on f2pool.com and use it as backup pool.

14 hours, it seems really low in comparaison of the downtime we had.

14 h starting from august 21st, which is the beginning of current "hosting period".

Previous period was from july 21st up to august 20th.

liars and fraudsters, don't buy from them!

More and more miners will mine for pcfli, inclusive miavators

I was one of the first here to trust pcfli and his hosting service has been good until the beginning of August, when the move from the professional to the simple DC was done.

I still trust him and think that he has some problem that is not able/cannot solve, but in any case current hosting service in simple DC is not good enough even considering the lower monthly fee.

Most of my units are down, nobody answers to problem report form, pcfli is offline since yesterday Sad

They have some network problem, since a few units cannot reach a pool, while others can.

I hope someone at least reads the forum.

110  Economy / Services / Re: [Lee group] 479$ for hosted s3 online on 1 august, the host fee is 45$ per month on: August 09, 2014, 04:40:56 PM
0.66 btc is about 386$ , and psu is about 40$, set up fee 15$, so that is about 441$, and if i sold my running one to you today, even i place a new order at 0.66btc, the bitmain can only ship the new one out on Aug 12 and arrive in my DC on Aug 14, so i will lose about 5 days earning, which value 0.01*5=0.05 btc or 29$, so the total price is about 470$
and i only have 9$ profit, if they delay for one day, i will no profit at all.

anyway, it is not the meaning of my question, can you give the profit of 180 day?

What about this?

I believe they messed up login credentials when miners were moved and they used the same user/pw when giving them out so liquid.ketamine could reconfigure (steal) several units Sad

I still have 4 miners down and/or hashing for someone else.

It seems to me pcfli is really trying to fix issues, so let's hope in a day or two everything goes back to normal.

I am beyond furious.

someone at your data centre has gone into MY miners without permission (I have changed the user and password) and input their own credentials.

I am disgusted.

User in question goes by Liquid.ketamine and warhawk.

GET THIS SORTED. NOW

Same here, at least one unit changed by liquid.ketamine and now I cannot even access it, in the beginning I thought they had given me the address/port pair of another user and so I did not change it and simply told them about the issue :/

Anyway, pcfli, please stop all units owned by liquid.ketamine since he/she is stealing hashing power from us.

tonight at around 4 am GMT+2 someone stole 3.96 BTCs from my account on Havelock Investments (.com).

It was mostly my fault, no 2FA active, I had country restriction active, but it was not enough, though.

Funds have been sent to: 1MJHPV3nxj4M6zfbXk9Ez9gxeaSuAzPcmH

115  Economy / Service Announcements / Out of memory exception in Firefox on: July 03, 2014, 06:49:47 AM
Hi,

I'm trying to create a BIP38 password protected paper wallet on windows XP 32bit using firefox 30 but it never completes the task, opening the web console I see an out of memory exception a few seconds after it starts making them.

See attached image.

Normal paper wallets are created without problems.

Best regards.

116  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: June 25, 2014, 09:31:54 PM
In order for the SP30 to become non-profitable, it has to mine less then 100$ a month.
Today it would mine about 2000$ per month.

Where this number of $100/mo originated from? This is completely unrealistic anywhere, but in central WA.
$0.12/kwh (with delivery; cheap in Texas)X24hrX30.5 (average days in a mo)X2.4 (isn't SP-30 2.4kw minimum?)=$211/mo. In CA-$500/mo.
Miner itself is not free either.

Why hosted? A real man keeps his miner in his house and uses it for a pillow.

Well,

tell it loud and clear that SP30s are just for petahash or larger operations with access to 0.02 cents power.

One of the best hosted solution that I know of for just a few units is 90 EUR/kW/month or around 300 USD/month; hosting at home is not feasible for most of us, I pay around 0.34 USD cents per kWh at home!

And while operating costs are a constant, mining revenues are not.

117  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: June 25, 2014, 07:15:29 PM
Nearly every hardware manufacturer calculates hardware cost in fiat (because parts are bought in $ equivalent) and as such hardware price is also calculated in dollar.

This remains as long as fiat is the reference of value for goods.

As long as fiat is the reference of value, gained mining value (and hence ROI) should be calculated in $.

That's miner's fallacy Smiley

You buy miners that produce BTC, if the miner that you buy produces less BTC than its cost in BTC you're better off buying BTC instead of miners and the more BTC's value goes up the more you're better off buying BTC directly not to mention the case when you buy them paying in BTC.

You have any restrictions on the number of connections allowed to your bitcoind process?  Did you try stopping/restarting bitcoind?  Does Ubuntu 14.04 have some kind of built-in security that you need to allow port 8332 traffic (sorry, don't know that distribution well enough)?  Can you telnet into that IP/port successfully?

Sorry I'm new to Ubuntu, it has been running fine for the last month, I rebooted as there was a Ubuntu update and then I got this error. I have re formatted re-installed Ubuntu, Bitcoin Qt and p2pool so now have a fresh install but still getting this error. How can I see if Ubuntu is blocking port 8332 and if bitcoin is restricting a number of connections. When I first installed it it ran perfectly so not sure why I'm getting this now.

andmax,

are <username> <password> the same you have inside .bitcoin/bitcoin.conf's rpcuser/rpcpassword keys ?

Yes username and password in bitcoin.conf are the same as on my command line to start p2pool, thanks for your help just want to get it back up and running again as I'm in Australia and no p2pool nodes close by to hook into.

and server=1 ? do you have it inside bitcoin.conf?

and rpcallowip=? do you have it/what value has it?

as you can see I'm thinking about a misconfiguration between bitcoind and p2pool.

maybe it is something else entirely.

Yes, that is the quote i got just this morning. However, i told them i would deploy multiple kW, i donīt know how many ants you have with them.

The way you are describing it is, they need you to pay VAT but you will get reimbursed after 2 months?
So basically you donīt pay VAT? Just give a two-month interest-free loan?

No Ants, they were Coincraft rigs of BitMine Sad

Anyway, if you are a company, you can have it back in two months, if you're not, you have to pay it.
